Have you ever tried orange blossom water? 💐🧡
I found this at a French pharmacy the other day and was instantly intrigued. I didn’t buy it because I wanted to do more research, but now I can’t get it off my mind! I have never seen orange blossom water at an American beauty shop, and I wasn’t able to find any reviews. Has anyone tried this before? Give me a shout!

2 minute polishing peel - does it work?
Ever since I discovered chemical exfoliates, physical exfoliaters have been left in the dust. That was until I tried this 2 minute treatment fro purlisse pūrlisse - Watermelon Energizing 2 Minute Polishing Peel This peel resurfaces skin to brighten and improve complexion! It’s got glycolic acid, so it leaves the skin feeling noticeably softer. Other key ingredients include Watermelon Seed Oil, Watermelon Fruit Extract, and Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, How it works: Apply product to freshly cleansed skin, set a timer for 2 minutes, then gently rinse. That’s it! It’s super simple. I recommend use once a week, or every other week.

3 skincare hacks in 30 seconds ⏳
‼️Just starting your skincare journey? Watch this video! 💎There are three basic things that will change the way you buy products. They may seem obvious to those who are deep in the skincare game, but these facts definitely came as a shock to me! 👆🏾one: every beauty product has an expiration date! Make sure to mark your calendar when you open a new one. Some products last up to 18 months, but I’ve had products that are more delicate like vitamin c that expire in 6 months. Use it or loose it! ✌🏾two: clean beauty is unregulated in the United States, so it’s basically self regulated by brands. Always double check to make sure a brand’s morals align with yours! 🤟🏾three: ingredients are usually listed from most concentrated to least. Don’t be fooled! Some brands will highlight a “key ingredient” then you look at the box and realize it’s at the bottom of the list! ✨🤎 featured products PEACH & LILY - Lazy Day All-In-One Moisture Pads FARMACY - Daily Greens Oil-Free Gel Moisturizer with Moringa and Papaya innisfree - Jeju Cherry Blossom Dewy Glow Jelly Cream

🎃Halloween skincare prep - pink clay mask
Halloween is usually the time of year where we do the most - face paint and heavy makeup, sweating it out at a party (although not this year 😅) or wearing an actual mask. Whatever the case may be, I find that preparing your skin in advance is a great way to block post-Halloween breakouts! PEACH & LILY - Pore Proof Perfecting Clay Mask This clay mask formula uses kaolin clay and bentonite to help draw out even the deepest impurities, skin-soothing wild cherry, strawberry, and licorice extracts. What I like about it is that it doesn’t dry on hard, but stays soft so your skin is left hydrated and not stripped. This will be also perfect for use post-Halloween because pores get a deep-clean! I use it once a week after my usual cleanser and before moisturizer. It’s $43 on the peach and lily website

Skincare trends: Superfoods 🥬🥒🥦🍑
Superfoods (sometimes called super greens) are a hot topic in skincare right now. Lots of clean beauty brands are incorporating these ingredients in their products. Superfoods are nutritionally dense foods that supply skin with a mix of antioxidants. Peach and Lily is a Korean skincare brand that prides itself on incorporating yummy ingredients into their skincare. I finally got my hands on these moisture pads and was excited to see super greens as a top ingredient! These pads have spinach, broccoli and carrot extract 🥕🥦🥬✨ PEACH & LILY - Lazy Day All-In-One Moisture Pads These moisture pads deliver the effects of a toner, essence and moisturizer in just one swipe. These pads are SOAKED y’all! 💦 I was so glad that they didn’t skimp on the product. I can’t wait to travel with these because they truly do eliminate steps from my routine. I typically wash my face, then swipe one pad across my face and neck and I’m done!

This or that 💅🏿 Nail Polish edition
🤜🏾This or that - Kiko Milano vs Morgan Taylor 🤛🏽 I did a side by side of similar colors by different brands. This is how it went: KIKO - Nail Polish Power Pro Nail Lacquer This polish was a steal at $3, but as you can see in the video it hasn’t stood the test of time. This polish is a quick-drying nail lacquer with great pigmentation. It doesn’t have an overly offensive smell, and it lasts about 4 days without chipping. The only problem is that it doesn’t go on smoothly, leaves a lumpy finish and requires several coats to mask the texture. MORGAN TAYLOR - MORGAN TAYLOR Professional Nail Lacquer This polish is $10, which is more than 3x the price but worth it for the quality. The payoff is smooth, even, long-lasting color with a more professional looking finish. I only needed two or three coats, and this one lasts 5 days without chipping. It’s one of my favorites 👀 So who wins? I’ll let y’all watch the video and decide!

What are these symbols and why they matter 🤔
⚠️ I’m about to get real nerdy talking about this but hey I love sharing this kind of stuff. So here it is! It wasn’t until I started paying closer attention to the ingredients in my skincare that I began to notice the little icons on the back of all the packages. Turns out those cute lil icons are not there for decoration. The jar with the lid open and the number inside indicates the Period After Opening and the number is the amount of months the product will be safe and stable enough to continue using. 🤯 This completely blew my life away. Do you know how many times I would take a break from using a product and try revisiting it months later. Womp Womp! No wonder my skin would start yelling at me in the form of more break outs and pimples. Now if I don’t use it consistently I’m gifting it to a friend or tossing it. The recycling symbol with the 1 inside of it & PET or PETE beneath it stands for polyethylene terephthalate. The number inside indicates type of plastic it is, how to recycle it and it’s level of safety. Again I’m shook because I am that person that will try to repurpose bottles that are cute. However, after looking more into it most plastic products can leach toxic chemicals when heated, damaged, or begin to break down over time. I was surprised when I looked deeper into all of this but on the bright side this makes cleaning out my bathroom cabinet a lot easier! Sooooo I don’t know who need to hear this but check the date sis you might be holding on to something that’s ready to be let go.
What products should be in your skincare fridge?
Sincare refrigerators are becoming a must have in the beauty community. Many companies like Good Molecules are using the in give aways and companies like E.L.F are using them as PR packing. What exactly is a skincare refrigerator? A skincare refrigerator is a minature refrigerator (just like the one in your kitchen), but has slightly higher temperature. This higher temperature allows for a great way to keep your products active for a longer period of time after opening. Keeping certain prodcuts cool helps to inhibit bacterial and fungal growth once the product has been contaminatined. Although purschasing a skincare refrigerator isn't neccessary, it does add some benefits. What products should you have in your skincare fridge? Some products that you may want to put in your frigde to recieve a cooling effect, especially on hot summer days, are eye creams, sheet masks, facial mists, facial tools (like a jade roller), and gel moisturizers. Although some products can be placed in the refrigerator, others not so much. Products that should not be placed in a refrigerator are clay masks, oil-based products, cream moistures, and serums. If you are interested in a skincare refrigerator you can purchase one off SEPHORA COLLECTION - Skincare Fridge

VITAMINS are a must!
I’ve been using vitamin C products for over 3 years and it’s become one of the most beneficial ingredients to incorporate into my routine. I use pure vitamin C oils or serums and have noticed such a big difference in my skins texture and brightness. These are my fav vitamin C products: OLE HENRIKSEN - Truth Serum THE inkey LIST - Vitamin C Serum 30ml OLE HENRIKSEN - C-Rush Vitamin C Gel Moisturizer I started using retinol (vitamin A) about 1.5 years ago and I wish I started in my early 20s! I absolutely love retinol and how well it works for acne prone skin. My blemishes have been SO much more controlled now that I use retinol daily and my skin also looks so much smoother and more even. These are my fav retinol products: THE inkey LIST - Retinol Anti-Aging Serum DRUNK ELEPHANT - A-Passioni Retinol Cream KNC BEAUTY - All Natural Retinol Infused Eye Mask Niacinamide (vitamin B3) was the last vitamin I started incorporating into my routine and that was about 8 months ago. My blemishes are all gone, my skin looks smooth and clean, and my skin looks brighter. These are my fav Niacinamide products: The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% THE inkey LIST - Niacinamide Oil Control Serum FIRST AID BEAUTY - Eye Duty Niacinamide Brightening Eye Cream I’m always on the internet trying to find graphs and charts to help me better understand the products and ingredients I use.

does the order of skincare products matter?
hey everyone!! today I’ll be talking about the order of skincare products and why it’s important to have order with them 🌟 going off this graph, I do not use an eye cream and my routine is the “day” order for both morning and night routines. you should be applying your skincare products in order of thinnest to thickest. this is because the thicker products like moisturiser, eye cream etc, take longer to penetrate into the skin. if you were to put your thinner products after the thicker ones, then those products may not be getting their full effects. 1. cleanser helps to get rid of dirt, oil, makeup, sunscreen off of your face from the day. cleansing is the most important step of a skincare routine my favourites CeraVe - SA Smoothing Cleanser Kiehl's - Ultra Facial Cleanser 2. toner toner helps to reset your pH level and aids in getting rid of the excess oil, dirt etc. (you do not need a toner! for some people, this is an unnecessary step and they may not need it 🤗 ) my favourite PAULA'S CHOICE - Pore-Reducing Toner 3. serum everyone’s serum needs are different, apply your favourite my favourites NATURIUM - Niacinamide Serum 12% Plus Zinc 2% NATURIUM - Azelaic Topical Acid 10% The Ordinary - 100% Organic Cold Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil 4. eye cream again like toner, some people love using eye cream, others don’t, it’s all up to you and your skincare needs :) 5. moisturiser hydration !! my favourites CeraVe - CeraVe Moisturising Cream Kiehl's - Ultra Facial Cream 6. SPF sunscreen is super important during the day, even if it’s not sunny outside, SPF is crucial. my favourite LE TAN COCONUT SPF 15

What is the point of toner? From an esthetician
Toner is not pointless! It balances the pH of the skin, helping to make you not so oily or not so dry. It brings moisture to the surface of the skin. It can be calming and soothing to the skin. A lot of times treatment toners are too much and not bad correctly so they end up drying you out and they can counter interact with your treatment products and be way too much for the skin. This is way I recommend a basic hydrating toner for all, keep the treatment separate. Yes there are good treatment toners but you really have to look at the ingredients and make sure you aren’t going to over do it with the rest of your routine. O and here’s your daily reminder that witch hazel isn’t a toner and it’s terrible and super drying and stripping to the skin! No one should use it on their face. Products mentioned: HERITAGE STORE - Rosewater Spray Heritage store rose water mist An amazing, easy to use mist that is hydrating, soothing and balanced the pH of the skin. Subtle rose sent but nothing overpowering because it’s natural rose water. Mad Hippie - Hydrating Nutrient Mist Mad hippie hydrating nutrient mist If you don’t like rose or want a different option try this one! With 18 actives (not acids) this is great for hydrating and has photo aging benefits as well as balancing the pH of the skin.
