My Face Cream Awards
Although I don't have extremely dry skin, I cannot live without face cream in my daily skin care routine. My skin is sensitive, but thank God my skin is not that sensitive. My overall requirement for face cream is soothing the skin, moisturizing and repairing my skin barrier. I've tried many different face cream products. But there are only three products I really like to use. Thanks for their excellent performance and today I want to have an award ceremony for these three products. 🏆Best Skin Relief Award🏆: My skin may have redness due to changes of the weather, and sometimes a little itchy rash may appears . Whenever I encounter these minor problems, I will use this LA MER - LA MER Moisturizing Cream

SKINCARE SUNDAY: DRY SKIN EDITION 🌵
Happy Sunday to you all! Today I wanted to talk about my experience with Curél Products. Just for reference, I’m a dry, sensitive skinned gal, so I’m always on the hunt for products that will be hydrating without being irritating. Curèl is Japanese Skincare Brand formulated for sensitive skin. All products listed were purchased from Ulta during a sale🤑 I bought a 4 piece trial set for $26 that included the following: Curél - Foaming Facial Wash I feel like this is decent, gentle cleanser that won’t irritate skin. I’m usually terrified of foaming cleansers, since they are usually too harsh, but this one had such a nice lather that didn’t strip my skin terribly. If you’re a makeup or sunscreen wearer, a double cleanse will definitely be necessary if using this, as this doesn’t give you a super deep clean. For me, this is best on no makeup days. I also feel like this would be a good morning cleanser. I gave this a high rating because it’s extremely sensitive, which is great. Curél - Makeup Cleansing Gel I typically use cleansing balms or oils, so this gel was new to me. I didn’t hate it, but I feel like this took so much longer, and required so much more effort than my typical balm or oil. The consistency is so thick and sticky, that it’s hard to move around. It’s not the worst, but not the best. It doesn’t remove eye makeup well, however, so I’m not the biggest fan. Curél - Moisture Facial Lotion Enrich This was a total bust for me. They say to use this as an essence after cleansing but before moisturizing. It’s supposed to enhance the effect of your moisturizer. Well, it did nothing for me. Absolutely nothing. Curél - Intensive Moisture Facial Cream I’m on the fence about this cream. It’s almost a 4 star, but not quite. This is a very lightweight cream, which took me by surprise. I expected it to be much thicker. I’d say it’s fairly hydrating, but not as “intensive” as I thought it would be. I think I would really enjoy this cream in the summer, when my skin is less dry. I can still use this occasionally during the day time, but it’s not hydrating enough for nighttime use. I do think a lot of people would enjoy this though, since it’s lightweight and pretty hydrating. I much prefer the BIODERMA - Hydrabio Crème over this. Just to clarify, the mini jar is the one that came in this set. I bought the regular size one($30) since it was part of the sale. I will save it for summertime. All in all, I am impressed with Curél for being so gentle on sensitive skin. I received zero irritation, redness, tightness, etc. I would definitely recommend Curél to anyone with sensitive, normal and moderately dry skin. Even oily skinned folks could benefit from some of these producers. I think this trial set is a wonderful value and a great way to try Curél. Highly recommend! Any skincare suggestions?😊
Unbelievable challenge! Moisture meter shows $30 face cream beat $228 one!
I have dehydrated sensitive skin; even in Summer, my skin is still as dry as the Sahara Desert! That's why I'm always jealous of girls who have glowing, dewy complexion. I recently tried two well-known J-beauty skincare brands since "mochi skin" is in the latest fashion. The first one is intensive moisture cream from Curel, a famous Japanese drugstore brand founded in 1999. It aims explicitly at dry and sensitive skin. I heard that Curel is the top-selling sensitive skin brand in the Japanese market. This cream can improve your skin's natural barrier function, soothe, and protect skin from dryness according to product introduction. I liked the texture, it's super lightweight, cream-like, and it glides smoothly on my skin, and doesn't even feel like you're wearing any cream on your face! It leaves my skin feeling supple, hydrated, but not with caked-on products. I would recommend to people with very very dry skin like me! The second one is the SK-II moisturizer, which costs more than $200!!! SK-II, also born in Japan, is a famous high-end skincare brand in East Asia and Southeast Asia. Like other luxury skincare brands, it is said that SK-II products are the perfect result of Japanese skin experts applying cutting-edge technology to the development of skincare products. I was trying this out for a while as a nighttime facial cream and finally decided I don't think it's working for me. It is great for keeping certain parts of my skin hydrated and dewy like my forehead and others. But my cheeks are dehydrated, and I always felt like this isn't enough. And the scent of this is just way too overpowering for me! I got the skin moisture meter from my friend, which helped me verify how the moisturizer affected my skin. The meter displays a number from 0 to 99, 0 is the lowest, and 99 is the highest humidity. A result from 0 to 40 indicates that your skin is dry and needs more moisture. You can see the first picture; the number shows that my skin's humidity is only 10.3% before applying skincare products. It increases to 14.2% 30s after I used Cruel cream, but it only rises to 10.9% after applying SK-II. No surprise, I love Curel cream more than SKII, even the last one is much expensive!

Evening Routine Necessities 🌙 & a La Mer Dupe!?
SUNDAY RILEY - A+ High-Dose Retinol Serum — This is truly the fountain of youth! Compared to other products containing retinol, that I’ve tired, this is superior! (I do in part think the 6.5% retinoid is in part to blame.) I use this a couple times a week and it is the only thing that really reduces wrinkles/fine lines. I don’t use this product in conjunction with many others because it’s very strong—I’ll use a gentle cleanser with my Foreo Luna Play Plus, tone, apply eye cream, apply the retinoid, and then moisturize. $85 is a bit too pricey for me to purchase out front, so I waited for a sale and found it for $60 at Urban Outfitters during a 30% off beauty sale. NIVEA - NIVEA Crème — I purchased this online through Amazon for $11 after hearing on some blogs that it was a dupe for the elite LA MER - LA MER Moisturizing Cream(which retails for $190 for 1oz). While Nivea is sold stateside, usually in a plastic tub in their signature royal blue, I specifically ordered this one from Amazon due to the fact it’s the German version, which has a different formula than the US version and is therefore more similar to La Mer’s The Moisturizing Cream. While I haven’t tried La Mer’s moisturizer, I am really impressed with the German version of the Nivea Creme so far! I apply this in the evening by taking a small amount of product and rubbing it between my hands until it’s no longer white/thick, I then press it into my skin and move my hands in an up and out matter to blend it in. This creme is definitely fragranced, so it might not be the best for sensitive skin. After a few nights of use, the dry/flakey skin on the top of my forehead and nose have totally disappeared and swapped for smooth glowing skin! While I don’t think this is a necessity for the summer months, it’s been great to counteract the effects of fall winds and dry weather. If you’re going to buy this as a La Mer dupe, buy the German version on Amazon or through another retailer! SEPHORA COLLECTION - Rose Quartz Gua Sha — This is my first Gua Sha and I love it so far! Prior to purchasing this, I was using a jade roller from Ulta that I wasn’t blown away by—the roller always squeaked and felt rickety. The Gua Sha is incredibly easy to hold, clean, and use compared to the roller I tried. This is typically the last step in my routine, after a moisturizer, and I find it helps my products sink into my skin. To use, I follow a short YouTube video to use the Gua Sha to remove fluid from and lift my face. For $12, you can’t go wrong! Lano - Everywhere Multi-Cream — Instead of a super thick hand cream, I’ve been using this on my cuticles and tops of my hands to help my hands with the consistent hand sanitizer, washing, and dry fall weather. My hands and cuticles feel much softer and look healthier! This cream is unscented and can be used everywhere, a little goes a long way!

💳🛍I recently went on a book ordering spree... (😝one of my favorite things, besides skincare splurges) 💻 Even though we can get seemingly endless information about skincare online, I was curious to seek out some books because I love the tactility & I really hate reading on a screen. Regarding ingredients, there is a plethora of opposing information online, & I’m sure these books will yield some of that too. It’s important to cross reference your searches, meaning checking multiple sources & comparing that information. It’s also important to consider what site is providing the information & whom might benefit from it. 📚Swipe to peek inside📖 PRETTY ICONIC A Personal Look at the Beauty Products That Changed the World By Sali Hughes 2016 💄$18-$21 (paperback version) I was most excited about this one, I’m a big fan of pop culture history & of course I love beauty products. Current morning & night routine ☀️🌙
Hey beauties! I wanted to share my current skin routine for morning & night, since I've updated it with some new products that I'm enjoying and it's been working for me. Hope it works for you too! :) ☀️Morning: 1. I typically don't wash my face since all I did was sleep and I do this routine pretty soon after I wake up. So the first step is really to use almost a whole pump of OLE HENRIKSEN - Banana Bright Vitamin C Serum on my whole face 2. Then I use about a dime sized amount of myKiehl's - Ultra Facial Cream 3. Glossier. - Balm Dotcom goes on my lips - I prefer either fig, birthday, berry or coconut 4. Volia! That's easy :) 🌙Evening: 1. Cleanse my face in the shower using a half pump of YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Antioxidant Cleanser 2. After my shower, I sometimes use my facial roller (it's SEPHORA COLLECTION - Rose Quartz Facial Rollerand Idk what to rate it as since it's the only one I have) 3. Next is the serum - depending on what's the issue; if it's acne:Glossier. - Solution Exfoliating Skin Perfector, redness and/or irritation: Glossier. - Super Pure Niacinamide + Zinc Serum, or just feels ok / needs a little something to smooth out or be more hydrated: TATCHA - The Dewy Serum Resurfacing and Plumping Treatment 4. If I want to use an eye cream, I go with the Ole Henriksen banana bright eye creme from this set: OLE HENRIKSEN - Let's Get Luminous Brightening Essentials Set it's a half size one and the set is only $40 5. Glossier. - Balm Dotcom again because it's hydrating enough for me (yes my lips do get dry since they're a little chapped when I wake up, but I don't think I necessarily need a lip mask) 6. Of course, the last step is a facial spray, and it's always my Avène - Thermal Spring Water Spraybc I can't live without it. In case you're curious, the total price for my routine is $363!! (that includes all the products I mentioned) 🤯

My eczema/ dry skin moisturising routine
It’s taken my a long to time to perfect my moisturising routine for my dry/ eczema prone/ sensitive skin but I think I’ve finally done it! Using all these products together helps keep my skin hydrated, dewy and smooth. No more itchy, flakey raw, red skin!! First I start with the water drench eye gel Followed by the water drench cloud cream then continuing on with the first aid beauty ultra repair cream And finally rosehip oil Remember if you’re going out in the sun avoid putting the rosehip oil on because you’ll get burnt real fast! Best to put that one on at night or the days you spend more time inside. Let me know what you guys think !

Must Have Face Creams For DRY Skin
Gals. I know it is super hard for dry skin during winter. I personally need something rich to moisturize my skin, but I don't want something oily or heavy. So I bought these two face creams. Kiehl's - Ultra Facial Cream I used this almost every single day and night last winter and only switched to another facial cream after I finished the whole 125ml jar. It's very moisturizing and is suitable for severely dry skin. I recommend everyone to buy one for winter use. However, it's not my favorite facial cream. I think it's because it's not airy enough on the skin in that it's not refreshing because of how thick and heavy its texture is for it to be moisturizing. I might repurchase it as it's extremely suitable for severely dry skin in winter. Curél - Intensive Moisture Facial Cream This lightweight moisturizer is just right. It's neither too sticky nor too greasy and is not too airy either. It feels airy-light on the skin and is suitable for sensitive skin. It's intensely refreshing yet moisturizing. I also think that it's absorbed instantly, so it doesn't stay on the skin and leave it feeling greasy. Since I finished using mine in November last year, I'm unsure for now of its moisturizing effect in the driest of winter, so I'll try it out this year. I've already repurchased this product.

Top Drugstore Moisturizers: Weleda ✨
Okay!!! This moisturizer is a game changer. For anyone that has used the Weleda Skin Food but may have thought it was too heavy, thick, or greasy...this product is 10/10. This is a lighter formula of the classic Skin Food and I prefer this one way more. I buy this at Target and I believe it is only $18. I use this at night or on no makeup days on my face and neck. It sinks in pretty quickly but leaves your skin glowing all day while still magically controlling oil. It has plant extracts, chamomile, and calendula to calm redness and heal up dry spots. 🌱 I also use this on my body if I have any sunburns or dryness. It has quite a thick consistency when it comes out of the bottle but thins out when you apply it. Skin Food Light works perfectly on my combination skin so I could see it working well for you if you have normal, dry or oily skin. If you have tried this let me know what you thought of it!!! 🌷✨🤍 WELEDA - Skin Food Light Nourishing Cream

KISS DRY SKIN GOODBYE!
This is an intense hydration skin protectant formulated with soothing ingredients such as Colloidal Oatmeal, Allantoin, Ceramide 3 and the FAB Antioxidant Booster, which provides immediate relief and visible improvement for parched skin and it is clinically proven to increase hydration. Swipe & see that soft, rich and whipped texture of this cream, I love it! It just melts on the skin without any greasiness. I tried it first on my body wherein I have some dry patches and itchiness; guess what? I was surprised how it soothes my skin from first use. Since this claims to be safe to use on face, I tried it as a moisturizer and it works. It is very calming and hydrating on the skin. However, since I do have oily/combo skin it tends to be oily at the mid-day so I guess I will use this on days when my skin have any irritation or dryness. This is definitely a head-to-toe moisturizer that can be used by the whole family (safe even for babies) since it has no paraben, harsh chemical, colorants, and artificial fragrance. It has eucalyptus oil which gives a natural relaxing scent. I highly recommend this if you need instant relief and long-term hydration for dry, distressed skin, or even on eczema. This is my first FAB product and I am hooked.
FIRST AID BEAUTY-Ultra Repair Cream Intense Hydration
💓Game Changers💓 They SAVED My Extremely Dry Skin!!!
My sensitive, dry skin peels like crazy during the change of seasons. Sometimes I can't put on makeup, and even cleansing hurts a lot. After battling with this skin problem for over a month, my skin has finally stabilized. Let me share the products that I've used. Its maybe helpful for those with the same skincare concern. LA MER - LA MER The Moisturizing Soft Cream La Mer The Moisturizing Soft Cream works really well when my skin is unstable. It's more lightweight, and doesn't need to be emulsified before applying. It can be easily absorbed just by lightly patting it on with my fingertips. However, it only really helps maintain my skin balance. The only downside is that its sooooooo pricy 😫😫😫. So I will in introduce some affordable choices I've found. Avène - Skin Recovery Cream Rich This product can even repair peeling and flushed skin! I like how it's packaged. You squeeze the cream out so its content is not exposed to the air. It's recommended to apply it little by little so as to not apply too much, because it balls up easily. Use it continuously for a week to see your skin restored back to health. You can buy this if you are not ready to commit to the price tag of La mer. FIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair Cream Intense Hydration It's cheap and worth its price. It has a very thick texture but it soothes pain really effectively. However, it causes acne breakouts on my face, so I usually only use it when my skin peels like crazy. And I only slather the thick lay of the stuff on my face for a while and then wash it off. DRUNK ELEPHANT - Lala Retro Whipped Cream It contains oil but it doesn't feel heavy and it spreads easily. I usually use it during the day. However, it's not moisturizing enough and doesn't provide enough restorative care for dry skin so I'll use it with other products in my nighttime skincare routine. Have you ever try one of them? Share with me your experience!
LA MER-LA MER The Moisturizing Soft Cream
My Fav Face Cream for AM&PM
As a fan of everything beauty, especially skincare products, I love trying out different products that target different skin concerns. My skin is dry combination and ultra sensitive, and I get psoriasis flare-ups from time to time, so a product that’s good for sensitive skin is ideal for me. When I turned 30 a couple of years ago, I became interested in anti-aging skincare products, and one of my favourite fancy brands for anti-aging products is Estée Lauder. My mom has been using their products since I was little so I definitely trust this brand. Their Revitalizing Supreme + anti-aging moisturizer is so rich so I tend to use this at night. It leaves my skin so supple, luxuriously moisturized, and smooth. I wake up with supple skin in the morning, and even if this cream is ultra rich, it doesn’t leave my skin feeling and looking oily. It has a bit of fragrance but not overpowering so it’s good. I try to use it lightly cause I find it so expensive. However, it’s an anti-aging cream so I guess i’m investing in my skin now so I don’t need to go for botox anytime soon. ;) During mornings, I use Glossier priming moisturizer. Matilda, an Australian beauty YouTuber, has influenced me on buying this. It’s light and is the perfect base before I apply any foundation on. It stays true to its name of ‘priming moisturizer’. It’s fragrance-free so it’s perfect for sensitive skin like mine. Apart from that, I don’t see anything extraordinary with this product. I’m in the middle of finishing it but after this tube, I don’t think I’m repurchasing another.

My Mental Wellness Improved Through My Self AcceptanceWhen I was around 13 or 14 years old, I remember routinely taking one of my older sister’s black eyeliner pencils before school every morning. I’d arrive early so that I could slip away to the girl’s bathroom to apply a single black line to my eyelids. My parents didn’t allow me to wear any makeup at the time. Although this smudgy line on my eyelids didn’t make me look all that much different, I never felt comfortable at school without it. My teenage mind convinced myself that I needed some sort of cosmetic symbol in order to appropriately express my femininity. Up until that point in my life, society had told girls that looked like me - tall, Black, and with kinky hair - that we somehow weren’t as beautiful as the other girls. For far too long, I believed it too.Feb. 17
