SPF💙 ☀️One of the most important things for your skin and your skincare routine. This helps with anti-aging, dark spots, facial redness and of course helps prevent skin cancer so why don’t more people use it? ☀️ It took me forever to hop on the sunscreen train because I have memories of sunscreen being thick, sticky and chalky with a dog pulling at a little girls bathing suit on the bottle. All of that is appalling so why would I want to go back?🤣 ☀️Luckily, sunscreen has come a LONG way and now comes in various forms. It’s in moisturizers and make-up now too! There are lots of ways to incorporate it so it’s just about finding what you enjoy. ☀️My favorite chemical screens is currently the mini and empty angel on the left. This is the Paula’s Choice Youth-Extending Hydrating Fluid. It’s basically the feel of a moisturizer but in the form of SPF 50. It’s fairly liquidy so it blends in quickly and doesn’t feel sticky at all. It even gives me a glow! I just ordered their popular mineral sunscreen as well to see which is the true queen👑 I’m also loving the Mineral Matte Supergoop Sunscreen too!! It doesn’t always rub in perfectly but it’s awesome besides that. ☀️I really struggle with Umbre Tinte personally. It makes my face feel really sticky and that drives me crazy but I’d be willing to try it again because my best friend swears by it. ☀️There are different options in that some are chemical and some are physical. Chemical screens convert sun rays into heat while physical screens reflect the rays. Chemical screens can be sensitizing for some but I personally haven’t had an issue yet. ☀️The key is to find one you like that is SPF 30-50 and wear it everyday, even when you’re inside! Those rays still come through the windows! ☀️What’s your favorite sunscreen? PAULA'S CHOICE - Youth-Extending Daily Hydrating Fluid

there’s NO FOUNDATION in these pictures!
✨ what I use INSTEAD of FOUNDATION ✨ 🌊 I gave up foundation in the middle of college, partially out of laziness and partially because I decided my skin was okay without it. do i have clear skin? HECK NO. do i fake it well? HECK YEAH! 🌊 my skin type: oily and acne prone. My skincare routine is all anti acne products and oil reducing products, with a bunch of scar and dark spot reducing products as well. (pls see my profile for skin posts) 🌊 how i do it 1) prime Supergoop! - 100% Mineral Smooth & Poreless Matte Screen SPF 40 SPF is important and this one fills in pores and mattifies skin for smooth skin. while the product itself isn’t clear, there is no tint or white cast 2) conceal (the key to the look) SEPHORA COLLECTION - Clear and Cover Acne Treatment Cream Concealer with 2% Salicylic Acid this concealer contains the active ingredient of salicylic acid, which is anti acne and anti oil. I use this on active spots, scars, and any discoloration. Usually i have to hit darker spots more than once and take care to blend well. this tube is in the shade HONEY which is almost exactly my skin tone. 3) set Milk MAKEUP - Blur + Set Matte Loose Setting Powder kill all shine and pores with this tinted setting powder that blurs out my skin. i let my most oily parts bake for a little bit, like the areas next to my nose. it adds any additional coverage the concealer didn’t get 4) bronze benefit - Hoola Matte Bronzer i give myself fake cheekbones with a little dash of this cult classic below my cheeks. always take care to blend super well! 5) brows GRANDE COSMETICS - Grandebrow-Fill Volumizing Brow Gel With Fibers & Peptides this takes and sets my brows into place while helping growth benefit - Gimme Brow+ Volumizing Eyebrow Gel for easy color 6) lashes LANCÔME - CILS BOOSTER XL Super-Enhancing Mascara Base protects your eyelashes so they can grow longer, add vitamins. Makes a great face to put mascara on COVERGIRL - Lash Blast Volume Waterproof Mascara as someone with short eyelashes, I love this mascara because it adds volume and curl

Take a peek inside my Skin Cabinets
Since my husband decided to use the guest bath I have claimed both cabinets....and all my products still don’t fit in them!! I’ll share my bathroom sink area in another post, along with my mini fridge and backup shelf. My fingers are tired from tagging all the products right now 🙈 Let me know if there are any you’re curious about. I believe most products you can find already reviewed on my page. But if there is one not posted about, let me know and I’d be happy to share my thoughts with you. Some of my must haves are: Farmacy Beauty- Honeymoon Glow, Better Daze Ahead & Cheer Up Indie Lee - CO-Q10 Toner and & Brightening Wash Medik8- Crystal Retinal & HYDR8 + B5 Caudalie - Radiance Serum Sunscreen! Sunscreen! Sunscreen! Youth to The People - Superberry Mask, Energy Facial The Ordinary- Niacinamide & Hyaluronic & the Facial Peel Elemis - Suerfood Mask Many of these have been repurchases. If a product is sitting out on my counter or in my cabinets, I’m enjoying using them. I have baskets of products that didn’t work so well for me but I keep them for friends to try or to create fun texture art. It’s taken me at least an entire year to gain the collection I have. I had subscribed to many subscription boxes so a good majority of products came to me that way. I haven’t received PR in a long time and the few items I did receive were from some small companies. I don’t mind receiving PR/gifts I just am very picky about what I will use so sometimes the offers don’t jive with them. Let’s see your skincare cabinet ☺️ @createoncherie @CheriePick

Which Paula’s Choice SPF is right for you?
NOTE 1: this does not include every single SPF from Paula’s Choice. This is simply the SPFs that I own from them. NOTE 2: By posting this, I do not condone the past racist actions by Paula’s Choice and their lack of shades for medium and dark skin tones. My skin type is sensitive combination dry and acne prone. Review: Hello!! I thought today I would take you through the different textures and my thoughts on these Paula’s Choice Sunscreens. I own 3 different formulas at the moment, and I like them all but for different reasons. 1. Super-Light Daily Wrinkle Defense SPF 30 (mineral formula): PAULA'S CHOICE - Super-Light Daily Wrinkle Defense SPF 30 Target: combination, normal/oily skin. Purpose: Sun Protection & anti-aging. Texture: thick, somewhat mattifies the skin, leaves a light tint to the skin (not for medium or dark skin tones). Reapplies very nicely. No sunscreen scent. Includes the antioxidant resveratrol (anti aging and skin healing). I have dry skin, but I combat this formula’s matte effect by applying this after I apply a facial oil in my AM routine. It’s $33 for 2oz. I’d recommend this if you have oily skin for daily use. My rating is 4/5 because I wish they offered this for medium and dark skin tones. 2. Youth-Extending Daily Hydrating Fluid SPF 50 (chemical formula)PAULA'S CHOICE - Youth-Extending Daily Hydrating Fluid Target: normal, combination skin. Purpose: sun protection + anti-aging. Texture: incredibly lightweight/watery formula, no tint or white cast. Dewier finish. Reapplies without any issues. Light sunscreen scent. Includes “soothing plant extracts.” I have to use this after a pretty basic routine—chemical sunscreens often irritate my skin so that means no other actives are allowed in my AM routine. It’s $33 for 2oz. I’d recommend this for all skin types, except super sensitive. My rating is 4/5 because the chemical formula forces me to have a basic AM routine. 3. Ultra-Light Daily Hydrating Fluid SPF 30+ (chemical formula): PAULA'S CHOICE - Ultra-Light Daily Hydrating Fluid SPF 30+ Target: blemish-prone skin. Purpose: sun protection + minimize pores. Texture: super lightweight (similar to the youth-extending), no tint or white cast left behind. Dewier finish. Reapplies magically! More heavy sunscreen scent. It’s a basic formula so it doesn’t irritate or cause breakouts for sensitive skin. This allows me to use my usual AM routine, no burning even though it’s a chemical formula. It’s $33 for 2oz. I’d recommend this for all skin types, but especially acne-prone and/or sensitive! My rating is 4/5 because of the heavy sunscreen scent! Long story short: I really like these formulas but all for different reasons. Have you tried any of these? What are your thoughts? #CheriePartner
Sunscreen Is Always and Forever
Sunscreen is an essential part of any skincare routine. It is the number one proven preventative treatment for anti-aging. The sun’s rays, most specifically UVA and UVB, are damaging to our skin. They cause free radical damage, something that plays a role in collagen breakdown and inflammation; two things that are super important to pay attention to when talking about anti-aging. Plus, those rays exist in all weather, rain or shine, so sunscreen is a must! Sunscreen is also one of the first steps in treating hyperpigmentation! The sun activates our melanin production, like a tan. This over-production is exaggerated whenever we experience trauma to the skin, like a cut or a blemish. With those of us who have more melanin, we are more likely to produce stronger hyperpigmentation. With the use of sunscreen, we can help the fading time of hyperpigmentation to speed up! As a sunscreen lover myself, I have a few favorites, the one that will always have my heart year-round are: Krave - The Beet Shieldis a chemical sunscreen with SPF 50. Packed with a lot of soothing ingredients! Sits amazingly under makeup too! PAULA'S CHOICE - Youth-Extending Daily Hydrating Fluidis a chemical sunscreen with SPF 50. Packed with tons of hydrating ingredients and antioxidants. This can replace your moisturizer in warmer months! Something I only like reaching for when it’s warmer is the PAULA'S CHOICE - Super-Light Daily Wrinkle Defense SPF 30It is tinted and leaves a silky matte finish on the skin. Some that I have my eyes on to try next include Black Girl Sunscreen. It has been deemed better for drier skin types year-round or if you lean oily, it is great for the colder weather. It is known for its beautiful glowy finish! Another one I have my eyes on that has been getting incredible reviews, that can be used year-round, is the Soothe Bamboo Sun Essence by Keep Cool. Regardless of your choice, if it works for you, that’s the sunscreen that matters!
Dear Klairs Soft Airy UV Essence
I got the Dear Klairs Soft Airy UV Essence from YesStyle when on the hunt for a new SPF after hearing rave reviews about it. This is meant to be a light SPF that feels gentle on the skin. It is marketed to not feel heavy and greasy on the skin. They claim it can be used on sensitive skin and all skin types. It obviously is meant to be a chemical sun protection product that prevents both UVA/UVB rays from reaching the skin. I have been using this for a few weeks now and can’t say I am a fan. The texture to me is actually heavy and greasy, despite how the company describes it. As you can see in the texture in the picture. It is a fairly solid cream and not watery like many Korean sunscreens. The word “essence” in the name seems to have no meaning at all. The front of the bottle even says “gel texture” but it is far from that. I hated it on my skin. It felt heavy on and caused breakouts for me. I ended up with cystic acne all over my face which didn’t subside until I stopped using this. In terms of effectiveness as an spf, I can only say that it is winter and it seems effective. I wasn’t in any environment where I could but it’s effects to the test. My face began to look very oily after a few hours of using this as well which I was not great. It’s not very expensive but I wouldn’t recommend it for anyone (despite a lot of people loving it). I find the name totally misleading and the product lackluster in general. It may work as an spf but if it doesn’t work on my skin in general it’s just not worth it. dear, klairs - Soft Airy UV Essence SPF 50 PA ++++

Protecting My Acne Prone Skin☀️💦
💦 I have sensitive combination skin and my main concern that I deal with is hormonal breakouts which when not treated correctly are cystic, red and painful. 💦Currently my skin is recovering beautifully from the usual hormonal breakout around my cheek area. I still have some leftover hyperpigmentation from it but I’m actively treating that and seeing RESULTS with this routine, especially this Vitamin C oil which I also use to protect my skin from Boston’s harsh pollution. ✨Protini! This is my favorite moisturizer for my skin. It hydrates, doesn’t feel sticky and plays well with other products and make-up. I discovered this through Drunk Elephant and other skincare bloggers and have been in love ever since. Yes there are cheaper moisturizers out there but this plumps skin so gorgeously I don’t want to look for another. I use this after cleansing my skin and on occasion I’ll add a Hyaluronic acid serum before this. Pro tip- apply hydrating serums and then moisturizers to your face in that order WHILE your skin is still wet to prevent transepidermal water loss from happening to your skin! I’ve been using this for over a year and adore it. ✨Leah Rose + Glow Oil! This is the most stunning facial oil I’ve ever found and it’s made by a small and newer business. My favorite things about this are the squalane for hydration and vitamin C for after my acne to get rid of that redness. It’s also a very brightening ingredient too. I love using an oil after moisturizer because it locks everything in and gives that extra boost of hydration. I’ve been using this for about half a year and will definitely be repurchasing. ✨Centella Green Level Unscented Sunscreen! This is a new sunscreen for me but regardless I believe SPF is THE SINGLE most important item to use to protect your skin from sun damage. This makes the skin feel smooth, is SPF 50 and doesn’t leave a white cast. I just got this this week and am already in love. It plays well with other products and of course protects you from damaging rays. Pro tip- your skin can be damaged by the sun through windows so even though we’re mostly stuck inside, it’s important to keep this in your skincare routine to prevent damage. Sunscreen also helps with my skin redness and for my acne! 💦This routine is one I fully stand by and discovered through other bloggers and just trial and error using a lot of products and figuring out the best way to lock in moisture for my skin. I love it and don’t plan on changing it up any time soon! What’s your favorite routine to protect your skin? Do I need to wear sunscreen indoors? 🏡
This quarantine has kept us in our homes longer than normal and many people might believe that using sunscreen is not important, but it is. All houses have windows where the sun comes in and doesn’t protect against UV rays. In addition, being locked up has made us watch more TV, use the computer or cell phone more, these devices emit blue light that causes dark spots and aging. So it is important that you apply and reapply your sunscreen every 4 hours even if you don’t leave home 🏠. Dr. Loretta - Urban Antioxidant Sunscreen SPF 40 This sunscreen protects against the 4 external factors that age our skin (pollution, light, climate and irritants). 🧪 Lipochroman: is an antioxidant that protects against free radicals caused by pollution and UV radiation that cause fine lines and age spots 👵🏻. 🧪 Indian ginseng: protects the skin from the HEV light emitted by electronic devices 📺📱💻 and the Sun ☀️. 🧪 Peptides: hydrate and firm the skin. 🧪 Zinc oxide: protect the skin from UVA / UVB rays and irritants. It can be used as a primer or as a lightweight foundation. It is very lightweight, it absorbs quickly and the color goes with any skin tone. It keeps my skin matte, no breakouts. It doesn’t smell good but I think it is an good product with excellent ingredients, and it works very well. pūrlisse - Blue Lotus Essential Daily Moisturizer It is a moisturizer with SPF 30, I really prefer products that have more protection, but I think it works well. Blue lotus extract is a potent anti-inflammatory antioxidant that helps with free radical damage caused by sun rays. It's lightweight, no greasy residue or white tint. Smells good. Contains white tea, vitamin E and algae extracts to prevent fine lines, soothe and smooth skin.
pūrlisse-Blue Lotus Essential Daily Moisturizer
This is the best sunscreen I have used.
PURITO - Centella Green Level Unscented Sun SPF50+ The texture is creamy but lightweight. It feels like a moisturizer and blends in nicely. It doesn't pill or feel greasy. I didn’t experience any clogged pores or breakouts. It also makes a great makeup base. No white cast, No fragrance, No essential oil, No redness or any irritation. I also love it has Niacinamide, hyaluronic acid and , Centella Asiatica, a soothing ingredient. It is very hydrating for dry skin. Although it is for all skin type, it might feel a little tacky for combination/oily skin. It is cruelty-free and vegan. A daily SPF is a must !! You can get this for $14 on Amazon

Myth or Fact? You Don’t Need Sunscreen If You Stay Indoors.
While most of us are working from home now more than ever with no intentions of going outside, do we still need to wear sunscreen? The answer is if we are sitting in a room with windows, we definitely need to! As the name suggests, a sunscreen “screens” and shield our face against harmful rays from the sun. Growing up in Southeast Asia, it has always been ingrained in me of the benefits and importance of sunscreen. I am shocked that some of my friends do not apply sunscreen if they are staying indoors or if the moisturizer they are using already contains SPF. Using a sunscreen adds an effective and high power protection to minimize various skin issues such as hyperpigmentation, uneven skin tone, and premature aging, and to help prevent skin cancer. Even on cloudy days, up to 80% of the sun’s harmful UV rays can penetrate our skin.Snow, sand, and water also increase the need for sunscreen because they reflect the sun’s rays. You DO need to Wear Sunscreen Indoors! The sun emits two types of damaging sun rays: long-ray UVA and short-ray UVB. Most windows block UVB rays, so sunburns won’t happen if you are sitting by the window all day. But UVA rays can still penetrate through windows. UVA rays cause more concern because they degrade skin collagen the most readily and increases the risk for skin cancer. As most of us face a computer screen or mobile device practically all day long, we are also exposed to blue light. Neither a UVA or UVB light, blue light contains high energy and comes from the sun as well as TV screens, smartphones, computers, and fluorescence light. Too much blue light can affect our sleep by suppressing the secretion of melatonin, which cause skin pigmentation and wrinkles. It also helps generate free radicals which kill collagen and damage skin. So what should you do? Always remember to add apply sunscreen at the end of your morning skincare routine, and apply it few times throughout the day, depending on how much sun exposure you’ll be getting. Go for a sunscreen with broad spectrum protection, which shields both UVA and UVB rays. You can also note the letter PA with anywhere from one to four plus signs noted after. The higher the plus signs, the higher its efficacy towards UVA protection. To guard against blue light, sunscreens containing a mineral blocker ingredient, like zinc oxide, paired with an additional antioxidant serums will help. Recommendations for Combination Skin: · Murad - City Skin Age Defense Broad Spectrum SPF 50 / PA++++: luxurious 100% mineral SPF shields skin from UVA and UVB as well as blue light, pollution and infrared radiation as claimed on the product website. Soft peach tint also helps color correct to boost radiance. · Neutrogena - Ultra Sheer Dry Touch Sunscreen SPF 55: Non-comedogenic and non-greasy formula with Helioplex Technology to offer superior broad spectrum protection from UVA and UVB rays. Perfect for daily use.

Favorite everyday SPF!
dear, klairs - Soft Airy UV Essence SPF 50 PA ++++ Product description: The Klairs Soft Airy UV Essence SPF 50 PA++++ is an everyday sun protector for sensitive skin. As is it water-based, it holds a gel-type texture to give a soft weightless and light finish. Also with its high SPF and PA level, it completely guards the skin against UVA, UVB without leaving any greasiness or white cast. Key ingredients: •Hippophae Rhamnoides Oil (aka Sea Buckthorn Oil), in Korean cosmetic, the ingredient is listed as 'Vitamin Tree Oil' and it helps to supply the skin with moisture. •Tocopherol is an antioxidant that fights against free radicals found in the skin. Panthenol, beta-glucan, and allantoin soothes, relieves skin irritations. •Niacinamide is a skin brightening agent and helps to brighten the overall skin tone. My review: Let me start saying that the texture is LIGHTWEIGHT and its a watery-gel feeling since it’s water based, which I really really love since I have oily skin I don’t like heavy sunscreens! I use this everyday before makeup & it oaks into my skin looks very soft and doesn’t leave any residue, white cast or cause any irritation to my skin or eyes, you feel very refreshed and hydrated but not oily, just the right amount of moisture. Very good for sensitive skin aswell since it’s very light and have such great ingredients. I got this months ago and I still have a lot left so as you can see a little goes a LONG way, another thing that I love about it it’s that it’s SPF 50 which most of the sunscreens are 30 so I love that it has more coverage for UV rays. ALSO a PLUS, it has niacinamide wich such a GREAT ingredient for brighting that skin tone. Definitely recommend such a great lightweight everyday sunscreen. 10/10.
