Product Update: Sweet Pitti 🐘
Product Update: Sweet Pitti 🐘
I have sensitive skin and switched to natural deodorant about two years ago. When DE released this I figured I’d try it just to see how it is. It has some great ingredients and it’s surprised me in a few different ways. ✨This is a deodorant cream which is $16 for 2oz. It is meant to soothe and moisturize while also maintain odor. It is free of baking soda, essential oils and aluminum-derived ingredients. It has mandelic acid for killing odor causing bacteria as well as arrowroot which is highly absorbent. This also has Shea butter for hydration. 🌸As far as natural deodorants go, this didn’t give me any problems when I switched and began using it. I hardly noticed a difference at all between my last natural deodorants which is a good thing. It comes out fairly liquidy but it dries down fast. It has that almond scent like their whole body and hair line which I’m pretty neutral about overall but this works for me and will be one I finish fully. ☀️One thing I don’t like is that after use, the product dries a bit around the area where it is released from the packaging so it requires fairly regular cleaning. I like this a lot but I’ll probably try something new next time or return to Farmacy’s Freshen Up. 🌊 I’ve also used the natural deodorant by Tarte and Kopari and also recommend those as well. *If you’re new to natural deodorant, you will experience a “purging” phase for a bit due to the removal of aluminum from your deodorant. This is normal and I’m happy I made the switch ultimately! I recommend carrying your deodorant with you and you can even use a detoxing mask there to remove impurities during this time. I have sensitive combo skin that is super acne-prone so wearing a mask all day is definitely NOT helping. Here are the products I’ve been leaning on this year that have been working! 💙Healing Ointment by CeraVe $12 for 5oz I cannot articulate how much I love this product. I use it for everything but on my face I use it mostly at nighttime on my skin and lips as a moisturizer. I find it to be incredibly healing and soothing and it pairs well with heavier actives for fighting breakouts like retinals and acids. It’s a thick clear gel texture and such a miracle worker. If I had to wear my mask constantly- I might use this in that area during the day as well to prevent an additional barrier from the skin. This is holy grail status for me. 💚Great Barrier Relief $28 for 1.52 fl oz Key Ingredients: Tamanu Oil, Safflower Oil, Rosehip Oil, Vitamin B3, Ceramide These ingredients are great for the skin from regeneration to hyperpigmentation, anti-aging, brightening and acne fighting. It’s great for generally repairing your moisture barrier too. This is turning into an all time favorite with this ingredient list and I love using it day and nighttime. For the day, I use it after a vitamin c serum in my mask area. I think it’s been really helping to create a barrier and prevent breakouts from constant mask wearing. This product is great for mimicking your skin’s natural moisture barrier so it’s great for skin that needs help from too many actives, sunburn, etc. ❤️Beet Shield by Krave $20 for 50ml 🔑 Key Ingredients: Beet root, Allantoin, Vitamin C, Resveratrol and EGCG. This daytime fluid has ingredients that overall give skin antioxidants, prevent signs of aging, soothe skin, fight free radicals, reduce pigmentation, reduce blemishes and moisturize. This is packed with antioxidants. It has Vitamin C in it which will help with acne scars that are healing and for generally brightening skin. It’s also really lightweight which I prefer under a mask. This is a chemical screen that doesn’t leave skin sticky or leave a white cast. I feel like using this and their serum has maintained my clear skin even with the mask. General tips: ✨Double cleanse your skin at night ✨Regularly wash your masks ✨Avoid make-up under your mask ✨Silk face masks are supposed to also be useful and I’m planning to get one soon. 10 Minute Natural Look 👀
10 Minute Natural Look 👀
☀️ I have sensitive combo skin that is acne-prone. My skin is fair and my main concern is acne and general redness. 1. Skincare I use a cleanser, Vitamin C serum, moisturizer and sunscreen every morning. I let it sink in for a few minutes before starting any sort of make-up. 2. Mascara I currently use They’re Real by Benefit and really love it for quick volume and length. I also love their BadGal Bang one and might switch back to that next but this one is great. 3. Concealer I use this under my eyes to cover any darkness, any red spots from breakouts and just generally for redness. I find that a little of this Kaja concealer goes a really long way and this one is affordable and clean. This is the lightest shade in the range called Sweet Rice and I blend it with a damp beauty blender. 4. Erborian CC Red Correct This light green color correcting cream with SPF 25 is my favorite for light coverage that overall provides an evenness to my skin without any heaviness of foundation in look or feel. I find this also blends best with a beauty blender and the greenness fades the redness perfectly. 5. Elf Shadow Pencil I got this for like $3 and I use it along my upper lash line to add a bit of pink sparkle for fun. I have this in Rose Gold but there are more options and they’re really quick to apply because no brush is needed. They’re also a smoother pencil in terms of softness. ☀️This is my go-to quick natural look I’ve been doing this year and I LOVE it because it’s quick and covers my main concerns. My most important step though beyond skincare is definitely mascara. It just makes such a difference with my eyes and generally how I look. I can skip the rest but I need my skincare and my lashes. benefit - They’re Real! My Favorite Serums 🌸
My Favorite Serums 🌸
I have sensitive combo skin that is acne-prone and these are my favorite skincare serums! A lot of my serums are focused in helping with acne and its aftermath and these are the best I’ve found. ✨Antioxidant Pore Purifier by Paula’s Choice $31 for 1oz This serum has salicylic acid in it and white tea. It is meant to unclog pores and help with airborne pollutants. It’s a light fluid that is the tiniest bit sticky on skin before adding a moisturizer. Before finding this, I was dealing with a lot of really intense cystic acne. After using for about two months, I eased up on this product and noticed my breakouts got worse which is when I realized what an effect this was having for my skin. I eventually did ease out of regular use and my skin has been behaving but if it does get bad again, I’m definitely repurchasing this product. ✨Very Cherry Bright by Farmacy $62 for 1oz This is a lightweight Vitamin C serum by Farmacy made with four forms of Vitamin C, the most obvious being from the Acerola Cherry extracts which make this smell so good! This serum is gorgeous. It’s lightweight and effective. This is a clean brand and comes in packaging that is meant to reduce oxidation which makes Vitamin C serums less effective. I find this helps with red spots, scarring, brightening and fighting free radicals. My biggest issue is the price but this brand does regular sales which helps. I’m about to try the Naturium Vitamin C Complex so we will see how that compares given the lower price point. Stay tuned! I’m also liking the Naturium Niacinamide one a lot. ✨Great Barrier Relief by Krave $28 for 1.52 fl oz This is a moisture barrier saving serum by Krave which I fall more and more in love with each use. It has Tamanu Oil, Safflower Oil, Rosehip Oil, Vitamin B3 and Ceramide for for skin regeneration, hyperpigmentation, anti-aging, brightening, acne-fighting and generally repairing a damaged skin barrier. This serum is turning into an all time favorite. I actually use this after a lighter Vitamin C serum on my mask area and it’s been helping to prevent breakouts from mask wearing. This product mimics your skin’s moisture barrier so it’s great for skin that needs help from too many actives, sunburn, etc. ✨Honeymoon Glow by Farmacy $58 for 1 oz This is an nighttime resurfacing serum that for me gets rid of breakouts and leaves me glowing the next morning. It has AHA, flower acids and honey in it. It tingles a bit when first applied but that quickly stops. I couldn’t go without this one and have a back-up. I like to use acids like this with a stronger nightly moisturizer like Healing Ointment by CeraVe! I use this maybe twice a week at most. 🌸What serums are you loving? My Favorite Cold Weather Product 💙
My Favorite Cold Weather Product 💙
🌊 I have sensitive combo skin that is acne-prone and the colder weather and masks have not been playing well with my skin! However, there is one product I can use anywhere and for what feels like anything! It’s so amazing for dryness and I feel like it’s such a great healing product. 💙CeraVe Healing Ointment is about $12 for 5 oz and I use it for everything. It has Hyaluronic Acid as well as Ceramides so it is an amazing hydrating lip product, night moisturizer, hand balm and great generally for any dry or irritated spots on your body. 💦 It’s a clear, thick gel texture and works well on my face even though it feels like it would break me out. It never does give me breakouts and I love it! If anything, I feel like it heals breakouts and any facial skin issues too. I use it all over and it makes things simple at night too and pairs great with any drying products. CeraVe - Healing Ointment #CheriePartner

Is Luxury Retinal Worth It? 🤔
Is Luxury Retinal Worth It? 🤔
I have sensitive combination skin and I’m also acne-prone and deal with hormonal acne. This means that retinol is very important to my routine to increase cell turnover and help with breakouts. ✨This prodict is the 1A Retinal & Peptides Overnight Mask by Allies of Skin. It consists of a peptide complex, 9 antioxidants, 5 brighteners and retinaldehyde. I purchased this from the AoS website after seeing it all over the skincare Instagram community. ✨This product is luxury and super expensive at $109 for 1.7 oz. However, with all the rave reviews of this brand I figured I’d start with this item which I will shell out for so here we are. ✨The product says to use their probiotic mist before use for best results so I sometimes use one from a different brand that I love and put it on as my main product for the night besides cleansing beforehand then adding eye cream and lip balm. ✨It smells amazing. It’s refreshing in a light citrus kind of way. The texture itself is silky and light and the product is a light yellow color. 🌻I like this a lot but I’m not sure I’d buy it again because of the price point. I feel like it works in terms of helping with breakouts and I’m definitely curious to try the new formula without essential oils but this is highly expensive and I’ll probably try the Crystal Retinal by MediK8 next which has been on my list. If a product is this expensive, it has to be a miracle worker for me to buy it again at this rate. I will however be trying their Vitamin C and moisturizer at some point. I think if a product is amazing and the most effective, it is worth the splurge but I’m not sure this is the holy grail retinal for me. HOLY GRAIL LIP BALM
HOLY GRAIL LIP BALM
So I was on amazon and saw this as a recommendation for me and didn’t think much into it because it was $15 for 3 lip treatments and the main ingredient is lanolin. I thought I should give it a try because why not I have nothing to lose. && I must say its amazing! The texture is light and not goopy and I love how long it stays on my lips. 2 of them in this lip kit were tinted and they were so so pigmented and I even use them as a cream blush (hydrating, long-lasting, and amazing color pay-off)!! Love love this product!!! Do I recommend? YES!!!hanalei - LIP TREATMENT (ROSE)

So Good I Wore it for My Wedding
So Good I Wore it for My Wedding
One of the small, yet stressful things about planning a wedding is having that perfect make up. With that you need a lipstick that’s going to look beautiful all day and through everything- kissing, eating, and drinking. The NARS Liquid Lip in Walk this Way was my perfect wedding lip. The color was perfect- sweet and elegant and it lasted nearly 7 hours before I needed reapplication. I will forever stick by this lipstick, for better or worse. ;) NARS - Powermatte Lip Pigment

Indie Lee Squalane Oil💦✨
Indie Lee Squalane Oil💦✨
INDIE LEE - Squalane Facial Oil This oil hydrates your skin all day long. It is a olive derived squalane that doesn’t clog pores. (Squalane not Squalene) Squalane exists in our natural bodies but decreases as we get older. I wanted to try this oil for so long since I saw it on the Indie Lee’s website. The texture is lightweight and doesn’t feel greasy once it is absorbed into skin. It has anti aging and anti inflammatory properties that helps acne. I have combination skin with fungal acne. I learned that most of oils are detrimental for fungal acne however squalane does not irritate fungal acne. I like that this oil doesn’t irritate my skin at all. Also it feels so lightweight on skin. I highly recommend this oil if you have fungal acne but still want to use oil. It’s so worth the time and effort to get this oil.

Purito Cica sleeping mask
Purito Cica sleeping mask
I’ve been on such a sleeping mask kick lately; they’re just so good! They provide extra hydration (which is perfect during winter time), and depending on which one you get, can treat certain concerns! One that I’ve had a pleasure to try is dermide cica barrier sleeping pack from @purito_official What piqued my interest right away is that the mask has cica which is known for its calming, anti inflammatory properties. It’s actually one of my all time favorite ingredients, because of how well it works to calm down my skin. The mask utilizes the ingredient well; it’s actually the second ingredient after water, which shows that there’s a lot of it in the mask! The application is amazing. The mask has gel / cream hybrid texture that makes it spread easily and sink in quick. I found that it’s best used on top of a cream or a moisturizer. When used alone (as a night cream), it didn’t provide enough hydration for me personally. Lastly, I think this mask broke me out (I started getting a lot of closed comedowns when I was testing this out). I’m sad to say this because I actually enjoyed how it made my skin look and feel. The cica in it was definitely doing its job at calming any inflammation I had. I think the culprits might be coconut oil and possibly shea butter, both of which are also high on the list. . All in all, despite the fact that it broke me out, I think this is a great night mask. It felt good on the skin and did it’s job very well. If you’re looking for something calming and soothing, and coconut oil is not a problem for you, this might be worth a to try! . . . . (Gifted)PURITO - Dermide Cica Barrier Sleeping Pack

Au Revoir Blackheads. You’re not welcome here!
Au Revoir Blackheads. You’re not welcome here!
Let’s talk about one my biggest love affairs with skincare, The Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay mask. Safe to say....a cult favorite. It is an all natural powder clay, made of 100% calcium bentonite; Which is a type of dry, absorbent clay that forms from old volcanic ash. Bentonite clay has been found to remove bodily toxins upon application by absorbing them. Its a vacuum cleaner for things like dirt and oil and hardens on your skin upon a few mins of application. It’s marketed as the worlds most powerful facial with the purpose of deep cleaning the dirtiest of pores and it does not fall short of that. This product has been in my skincare cabinet for a little over 3 years & I wish I had discovered it sooner. When a friend posted it on her IG and swore by it, I ran after work to get it from the Vitamin Shoppe but soon found out I wasn’t the only girl in Manhattan with hopes of flawless skin. Apparently this was when this product had blown up and was sold out everywhere, I ended up finding it at a beauty supply store in Harlem after hours of searching everywhere. Thankfully now, you can find this $9 mask just about anywhere in the city (Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s, Rite Aid, Vitamin Stores, local grocery stores, amazon, etc) Being the girl that’s always had troublesome skin this mask promised to help get rid of any impurities on my face, Blackheads and Acne being top of my list. You mix the powder with either water or apple cider vinegar 1:1 & get this cream like consistency which you then apply to the face and leave on for 10 minutes. You start feeling your face tingle & tighten w/in a few mins & before u know it u need a straw to take a sip of water. It’s unlike any mask I’ve ever tried. After washing your face is a bit red but followed with moisturizer and it’s like a new face. Any active pimples/redness diminish & blackheads are gone. I use this once a week subject to how much trouble my face is giving me and I have seen this mask change my skin. If you haven’t tried this, what are you waiting for?! 5/5
