DERMAFLASH - Dermapore Ultrasonic Pore Extractor & Serum Infuser
is a product worth investing in. I first heard about it from Tati Westbrook when she was still on YouTube. This was at the start of the pandemic when I was starting to get restless and wasn’t budgeting too much. The product itself is a bit pricey but for what it is doing, I wouldn’t recommend a dupe. It works terrific for pushing excess product and any goop outta your pores — especially on and around the nose. I use it on my boyfriend all the time (it’s super satisfying because so much goops comes out that I know it’s really working!) If you’re a self proclaimed face picker like me (sad face) this is a great way to stop picking. I find myself putting my trust and OCD into this powerful pulsator instead of poking my skin. Definitely would recommend!

DERMAFLASH - Dermapore Ultrasonic Pore Extractor & Serum Infuser 𝗪𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐭 𝐢𝐬:⁣ A two-in-one skincare device that uses ultrasonic waves at 33,000 Hz per second⁣ to unclog pores and infuse your favorite skincare products.⁣ ⁣ Dermapore offers 𝐭𝐰𝐨 𝐦𝐨𝐝𝐞𝐬 for a customized treatment experience: ⁣ 𝐄𝐱𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭 𝐌𝐨𝐝𝐞 - cleans your skin by removing dirt, oil, and blackheads.⁣ 𝐈𝐧𝐟𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐌𝐨𝐝𝐞 - enhances the penetration of active ingredients.⁣ ⁣ 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐨 𝐮𝐬𝐞:⁣ 1. Press the Power Button once to activate Extract Mode which is indicated by a steady vibration and white light.⁣ 2. Apply gentle, yet firm pressure as you glide the device over your face and neck. Pay particular attention to congested areas.⁣ 3. After using Extract Mode, wipe the device clean with alcohol or soap and water to prepare the device for use in Infuse Mode.⁣ 4. Apply your favorite serum or moisturizer.⁣ 5. Press the Power Button twice to activate Infuse Mode which is indicated by a tapping vibration and blue light.⁣ 6. Using the flat portion of the spatula, glide dermapore over your serum or moisturizer—the ultrasonic vibration enhances penetration of the active ingredients in your skincare to help them work more effectively.⁣ ⁣ I have been using Dermapore for months now, and I absolutely love it. It took 2-3 runs to figure out how to use it effectively. I was honestly quite surprised by how effective this product was at unclogging my pores. I have a congested and very oily T-zone and this little charm cleans out 90% of the gunk from my nose with ease. I don’t steam my face and straightly just wet my face and it still works great. I keep a small spray bottle at hand and spritz my face to keep my skin wet throughout the process. I like to use a little pressure with the spatula as it helps push the water into the skin and in turn pushing excess dirt/oil buildup out of my pores. It’s kind of gross but incredibly satisfying and gives you the results you’d expect from a professionally done facial.⁣ ⁣ If you have very minimal blackheads or whiteheads, this may not be that worth it. But if you’re someone who has oily skin that constantly deals with comedones, this can be a game-changer for you.

Skincare 101: Exfoliation Basics
Exfoliation is the best way to slough away debris and dead skin cells that are sitting on top of your skin and can clog your pores. Exfoliation speeds up cell turnover. If done correctly, it leaves you with healthier and happier looking skin, and makes moisturizing and applying actives more effective. ⁣ ⁣ There are two types of exfoliators: ⁣ ⁣ 𝐩𝐡𝐲𝐬𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐞𝐱𝐟𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐬 ~ are body scrubs and products formulated with grainy particles that provide the actual scrubbing sensation. ⁣ ⁣ I think the best physical exfoliating method is, still, the use of 𝐰𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐜𝐥𝐨𝐭𝐡 — which most of us already have at home. Gentlest of them all, and is even safe to use nightly. Simply dampen the washcloth in warm water, add your cleanser, and rub in small circles beginning at the forehead and working your way down - be sure to use medium pressure. ⁣ ⁣ I also love 𝐏𝐞𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐆𝐞𝐥𝐬. My favorites are Cure - Natural Aqua Gel and Pyunkang Yul - Pyunkang Yul Peeling Gel . While they don’t exactly fall under the category of physical or chemical exfoliators , I find them innovatively helpful and safe even for sensitive skin. Peeling gels use high acidity ingredients and utilizes a blend of surfactants like dicocodimonium chloride and carbomers that help to bind oils together to attract and remove dead skin. ⁣ ⁣I also enjoy using facial scrubbers like the DERMAFLASH - Dermapore Ultrasonic Pore Extractor & Serum Infuser ⁣ 𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐞𝐱𝐟𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐬 ~ use acids such as glycolic acid, salicylic acid, or retinoid to mildly exfoliate deeper the skin. ⁣ ⁣ One of the main benefits of chemical exfoliation is that it does not require scrubbing, so it’s less likely to cause major irritation to the skin. I have written about AHAs and BHAs in my recent posts -- do check them out if you’d like to learn more about the ingredients🙈Most results aren’t seen until 4-8 weeks with chemical exfoliators.⁣ ⁣ Some of my favorites are: ⁣ Neutrogena - Rapid Clear, Stubborn Acne, Daily Leave-On Mask PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution janssen - Retino-A 0.05% Tretinoin Cream Curology - Curology formula ⁣ ⁣ Still not sure how to exfoliate? you can actually use both a chemical and physical exfoliator if you’d like to. I personally find alternately using two types beneficial for me (don’t overdo it!).⁣ Skincare is a tough job. It’s best to listen to your skin, try out different methods, and you’ll learn what works best for you eventually❤️

Works... but 😬

At the outset this seemed like it was going to answer all the problems I’ve had about my pores. It was going to suck the gunk out of them!!! And it did suck gunk out. But at what cost people?! Now this particular microdermabrasion tool has very rough heads. Like really rough. Like if you’re not careful it will scratch your face. Which is pretty easy to do since the thing is suctioning itself to your face. Also if you leave it in one spot too long it can give you a tiny hickey. No one wants that. No one. My thoughts? Yes, it does what it says it’s going to do. To an extent. It’s not like every single pore was spotless. And it hurt. Skincare just doesn’t need to hurt you. It left my face all red and my skin was probably screaming out in pain just as much as I was ... okay I wasn’t really... I’m tougher than that, but my poor skin not so much. So this product was a NO from me. It had a mister refresher thing feature, but I didn’t really find a use for it.

Does this viral skincare tool really work??🤔

I purchased this off Amazon after seeing people rave about it on TikTok! I do not really suffer from blackheads on my face, but suffer from clogged pores on my legs. These are from ingrown hairs and my keratosis pilaris. I was so excited to try this on my legs and I ended up really loving it! I noticed my skin was smoother afterwards, and it removed a fair amount of “gunk” from my pores. I soaked in the bath before using it to open up my pores, and I think this really helped. I also tried it on my face afterwards and liked it there too! Plus it has three other settings that I haven’t even tried yet. For $25 I think that it is definitely worth purchasing to step-up your skincare routine!

Double trouble

This brush was a random buy from my beauty supply when I couldn’t find my charger for my Clarisonic for a month. Turns out it’s awesome! The bristles are way softer and soak up my makeup like a sponge. It has an exfoliating side that also is very gentle and feels amazing. I’ve had estheticians warn me in the past about the Clarisonic and other similar electrical brushes being known for harboring bacteria due to the tiny cracks and crevices. I think for that reason, many have recommended manual brushes as because they are easier to clean. This brush is super easy to clean. I use dish soap or Dr Bronner’s on it and let it dry in the sun to kill bacteria. To use I would lather up with face wash, run the brush under warm water, then use the soft bristle side to massage away make up, dirt, oil, grime, etc... Then rinse your face and the brush and do one more time. Use the exfoliating side when your skin is clean. Wash the brush out and let it dry. #cheriecreator

Clarisonic Mia and the Acne Cleansing Brush!
Clarisonic Mia and the Acne Cleansing Brush!
Product: Mia Prima Facial Cleansing & Pore Minimizing Skincare Device AND Acne Facial Cleansing Brush Head Price: Device ($99) and Brush ($27) Product Claims: Based on a 4-week consumer study: 100% of women noticed cleaner skin. Product Target Concerns: A brush head designed for acne-prone or problematic skin, with extra-plush bristle gradation that glides to gently massage skin of impurities. Texture/Consistency: Hopefully, you can tell by the picture but it’s fairly rough with some texturing to help clean out your pores but nothing to rough to bother your skin. My Thoughts on the Product: I got this while I was pregnant and my hormones changed so I was breaking out (you can tell it’s a little on the older side). If you don’t understand how the product works then it is annoying as you can break out more at first as it brings all the oils to the top of your skin but after about 2 weeks of use I was finally clearing up! I continued to use it through the rest of my pregnancy and quit just after a few weeks of having my daughter as I noticed my skin going back to normal (dryer so it was then too rough on my skin. It’s very important to use the right brush head I realized). Recommend to Others?: It is expensive, for those of you needing it for a very specific reason then I would say yes. But if overall your skin work well to cleaners and moisturizers then no it would not be worth it or needed. I did 4 stars due to the pricing on it but 5 for the brush head because I do know it helped with my acne. clarisonic - Acne Cleansing Brush Head clarisonic - Mia Prima Facial Cleansing & Pore Minimizing Skincare Device

clarisonic - Mia Smart 3-in-1 Connected Beauty Device I first got my Clarisonic in January from Ulta when they were having a 25% or 30% off Clarisonic sale, plus I redeemed points for it, so paid less than $5 for it. I was super excited since I had been wanting one forever. This products’ function is to prevent blemishes, exfoliating, anti-aging, skin firming, reduces under eye puffiness, and even can apply foundation (depending on the brush head you use). The target concerns of the Clarisonic are cleansing and anti-aging. The texture of the product depends on the brush head you use; the deep pore cleansing brush head is firmer than the sensitive one, while their is one that massages eyes and helps de puff them (so a cooling feeling). I decided to try this product because it claims to clean better than your regular hands (deep cleaning) and can be anti-aging. I used it for about a month or two every night to cleanse my face. I started breaking out on the sides of my cheeks and face way worse than I had ever previously broken out. I had not changed anything in my routine besides this product. My acne got so bad, it made me super embarrassed and horrible. I read about this tool and learned that a lot of people had used it and experienced the same issues. Apparently, it can cause tears in your skin and cause breakouts. I stopped using it for months and my acne finally has recently recovered and have started using it again, but only once a week. I think it is a good product for exfoliating once a week or so, depending on skin type, but in no way should be used everyday (like they advertise). I have noticed my skin is more glowy and bumps have cleared. At first, I didn’t like this product at all cause it made me break out, but once I found a routine that worked with my skin, I really enjoy it! I would recommend this product on sale (don’t think it’s worth the almost $200 price tag) since it is a nice treat to your skin for a deeper clean and the eye massager and skin awakening head can be so relaxing! The product is worth the little extra time because you can customize your routine you want (based on if you wear sunscreen or what type of cleaning you want) and beep at you when it’s time to move onto the next area of your face. There is minimal effort in this product since all you have to do is move the brush around! Price: $169 Rating: 3/5
