🧡Amika’s soulfood sis🧡
amika: - Soulfood Nourishing Mask This is not Soulfood, but i found this cutie at Marshalls for only $14.99! Why i love this sweet little bucket of joy: ✔️ i got this at @marshalls for only $14.99! Yes girl, im being honest. Its a good deal! ✔️the smell is AMAZING. Im always looking for something that can keep the smell locked into my hair. Its super difficult to find products for me that can keep its scent locked in; my hair picks up so many smells and its not cute 🥺 it would either smell like the outside or food. NEVER a products scent. But this one definitely did its job and i was smelling my hair like a mad woman bc i love it so much! ✔️conditions + repairs just like it says. My hair is always tangled with my dead ends. Right out of the shower, i dont pull and tug my hair with my brush anymore! ✔️product is light and generous! The texture is so smooth and its super gentle on your hair and scalp. ✔️a little goes a LONG way! Im glad it works out like this. I would literally take up half the bottle for some products i use as masks and leave-in conditioners. ➖the only problem with this is that my hair gets FRIZZ crazy after my hair dries 💛Is there a difference between this one and @amika ‘s soulfood? I definitely want to try that as well!!

This is by far the best hair duo I’ve ever tried! I’ve been looking for hair products that are free of harsh chemicals that actually really work. They’re cruelty-free, vegan and organic. The shampoo has a thick honey-like consistency that I had grown to love. While the conditioner has the usual creamy texture. It really helps with my occasional frizz and my hair doesn’t grease afterwards. My hair feels softer, shinier and overall healthier. The volume I once lost is now back. They both smell amazing by the way. I highly recommend these two! I super love the packaging - not just aesthetically but the fact that they’re made entirely from Brazilian Sugar Cane which is 100% recyclable. I also noticed lesser hair fall and there are no more pimples on my scalp! I’ve got thin, normal - oily hair and I’ve had a hard time finding the right products for my hair and now that I have, they unfortunately don’t ship internationally yet. So I’m gonna be lost after I empty these. I was ready to repurchase and try their other hair products but ya know, South East Asia problems. Haha!
Let's talk haircare! Because our skincare regimen is important but so are our locks! 💃🏼I’ve been a 𝐟𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐛𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐘𝐄𝐀𝐑𝐒! & although I love my thick AF lioness hair...it’s not the easiest to take care of. It’s extremely high maintenance & a lot of work! My hair is very chemically 🧪 treated (bleach blah blah) & with that means it gets dried out VERY easily & my ends are very prone to breakage due to all the processes. 💎 Enter R+CO I decided to try out this brand because not only had I seen it around Neiman Marcus & other department stores but because of their reviews & ingredient list. 💎 𝐆𝐞𝐦𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐫 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐨 & 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐫; this duo is meant to protect my color using a color complex that keeps my hue looking rich and vibrant! (They also contain lychee extract and well that’s enough for me!) All jokes aside though, I find my hair feeling great after washing my hair about 5 times with these too. I can tell pretty quickly if a product is going to dry my hair out and so far I am SO impressed! Not to mention their products are formulated without sulfates, parabens & all vegan & cruelty free soooo YAY!
I have been swimming in hair care recently 😅 not complaining tho, cuz my hair is feeling the love 💕💕💕 The mask and cream have helped my frayed ends immensely! I think the shampoo is a bit too oily for my already oily scalp so it’s not my fave part of the line, but it sure smells amazing!! I can’t stop sniffing my hair heh
I was happy to have more because the R.A.W. color care range is so, so good! As you might know, the Biolage R.A.W. range is their natural hair care line. It's silicone and sulfate free, uses naturally derived ingredients and recycled plastic bottles for the packaging. The R.A.W. line is really spearheading sustainability within the company (making sustainability the new normal 👌)! The shampoo is gentle and effective and ph-balanced to prevent damage to your color. The conditioner feels so lush and rich but doesn't coat my hair with product. The heat primer is awesome! It's essentially a lotion or a leave-in conditioner that protects your hair when heat styling and also leaves it super soft and silky. Also, all the products have a light natural herbal/floral scent that isn't overwhelming and doesn't smell like chemicals. And because the ingredients are so good, I'm not worried about them causing breakouts on my face. This trio may be my favorite Biolage products so far!
amika soulfood nourishing mask - she’s meant to deeply condition, hydrate and restore dry hair back to its optimal state of vibrancy and health. Jojoba seed oil is there to penetrate the hair follicle and fill in cracks on the cuticle surface, strengthening hair from the inside out. Vitamin C is there to assist in hair growth, repair and the reduction of free radicals. amika the kure intense repair mask - this one, she’s more intense. She’s an intensive turnaround treatment mask that exists to repair, restore and revitalize weakened and damaged hair. Shea Butter smooths and softens with its vitamins, minerals and fatty acids, and borage oil reinforces the hair to make it shinier, softer and more manageable. ⭐️ Both of these masks are free of sulfates, parabens, phthalates, gluten, mineral oil, petrochemicals and artificial colors. They’re vegetarian-friendly and cruelty free! Safe for color-treated, Brazilian-treated and keratin-treated hair. ⭐️ I’ve been loving both of these! With hair masks I prefer to get all the benefits I can and leave them on overnight, so that’s what I did with these. With soulfood, I didn’t leave any too close to my roots, and I rinsed it out of my hair thoroughly the next morning. No leave-in conditioner needed post shower! I was left with super soft and super nourished hair. With the kure, however, I had applied too much to my scalp area and I didn’t wash it out thoroughly enough the next morning, so I was left with greasy hair that only the next hair wash could save 😭 I did still feel and see the benefits of the repairing mask when it came to my previously sad and split ends, and I will remember that the next time I use this very thick mask that it needs a more thorough rinse out 😅 As always, these were such a pleasure to use.

My Mental Wellness Improved Through My Self AcceptanceWhen I was around 13 or 14 years old, I remember routinely taking one of my older sister’s black eyeliner pencils before school every morning. I’d arrive early so that I could slip away to the girl’s bathroom to apply a single black line to my eyelids. My parents didn’t allow me to wear any makeup at the time. Although this smudgy line on my eyelids didn’t make me look all that much different, I never felt comfortable at school without it. My teenage mind convinced myself that I needed some sort of cosmetic symbol in order to appropriately express my femininity. Up until that point in my life, society had told girls that looked like me - tall, Black, and with kinky hair - that we somehow weren’t as beautiful as the other girls. For far too long, I believed it too.Feb. 17
