My Favorite Coral-Reef Safe Sunscreens! ☀️🏖
Coral-reef safe sunscreens are a thing and you should definitely get on board. Sunscreen protects our skin from sun damage, but can also be harmful to our coral reefs and sea! The culprit ingredients are Oxybenzone & Octinoxate. Supergoop recently reformulated a lot of their sunscreens to exclude Octinoxate so they are coral-reef safe! Just some general sunscreen tips: - You need at least half a teaspoon of sunscreen to properly protect your face and neck - You need at least a shot glass full of sunscreen to properly protect your whole body - Don’t forget about your neck or your ears - WEAR. SUNSCREEN. EVERY. DAY. (even if you’re just going to be at home - you can still get sun damage from sitting near a window!) Here is my collection of coral-reef safe sunscreens: Supergoop! - Unseen Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 40

Supergoop! Sunscreens: my favs and flops
To start, I just started seriously using SPF about 6 months ago (I’m 22, for shame) because I absolutely HATED how sunscreen sat on my skin. It was always too greasy, too weirdly dry, or waaaay too thick and a bit difficult to spread around my face (like Neutrogena - Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunblock SPF30 ). I’ve tried really dermatologist recommended sunscreens like elta md SKINCARE - UV Clear Broad Spectrum SPF 46 (SORRY I know it’s a cult fav), but even that was too oily and would slide around my face all day like a slip-n-slide. I also have sensitive & acne prone skin so it was never worth it to me to put on this gross sunscreen that would forever break me out and cause redness. They were all the same. Enter: Supergoop! My holy grail. My precious. My savior. The only sunscreen that would comfortably sink into my skin that I couldn’t ever feel. HOWEVER, not all Supergoop! products are created equal, as I’ve found out. My least favorite: Supergoop! - Superscreen Daily Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 40 PA+++ . This lotion feels like soft, fluffy butter on my fingers and spreads so smoothly on my face. I was disappointed when I was left with an oily sheen that never soaked in (tested 8hr multiple times). It is greasy to the touch—my hair kept sticking to my face kind of greasy. It is superficially moisturizing instead of deeply. SAD! Maybe better for super dry skin? A truly great product: Supergoop! - CC Cream Daily Correct Broad Spectrum SPF 35 Sunscreen . This CC cream is really awesome. It’s lightweight but gives a surprising amount of coverage! Blends well and camoflouges all my redness. It’s also not drying at all. Special brownie points for not breaking me out—this is a gentle mineral sunscreen :) I find this perfect for summer because it’s hot and regular foundation would just melt off my face and crease . -1 star because after about 4 hours the product begins to break up. It also doesn’t have much oil control for my fellow combo/oily peeps. Perhaps it’ll be better in the winter when the heat won’t break it up?! • My daily sunscreen: Supergoop! - 100% Mineral Smooth & Poreless Matte Screen SPF 40 . I LOVE THIS! Shake the bottle for 5-10 seconds and the tinted sunscreen comes out like fluffy clouds. It minimizes pores, always looks like a natural matte (not a dry matte), evens skin tone, is water resistant, and sinks so naturally and comfortably into my skin. This is especially in my 🤍 because my pores are ginormous and I need that lil extra somethin. This makes my face look truly poreless. And it’s a mineral sunscreen so I never break out. Apply in gentle presses for pill-less results. A game changer: Supergoop! - Unseen Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 40 . The ultimate sunscreen. That’s it. What’re your thoughts on these four sunscreens? Are there others I should try? What are your favorites? 🤔

GLOW SCREEN HYPE?
I just wanna chant “I scream for for glow screen!” Haha. I really looooovvee this stuff. To be honest I really didn’t want to love it... it’s so hyped and expensive. I really love my Aveeno matte sunscreen, ugh I just didn’t want to turn my back on her. BUT, I got this little sucker in a sample kit and now I’m hooked 😩 It honestly just matches my skin tone so well that I haven’t even been putting on foundation. I really don’t wear make up everyday because it truly ruins your skin. My friends were like ummm did you break your “no foundation unless it’s a special occasion rule?” I was like no y’all it’s my sunscreen!!! It is a little oily but nothing too major. And a little goes a long way, I’ve been using this little guy everyday since end of July! If you love this info, please like this post. ❤️ HOW I USE IT It’s my last step in my skin care routine. 1. I put a dot on each surface of my face. I put extra on my left side because that’s where the sun hits me the most while driving 2. I rub it it VERY LIGHTLY, just to get it to cover the area 3. I use my beauty blender and dab it like I would foundation #Supergoop! - Glowscreen Sunscreen SPF 40[products]#[FourStars] WHAT IS IT? Glowscreen perfects skin, creating a totally dewy base layer for your look. The sheer liquid texture gives your skin a healthy dose of pearlescence, to add instant, glowing protection with no visible glitz or glitter. MAIN INGREDIENTS Hydration Cocktail: Hyaluronic acid, vitamin B5 and niacinamide help boost moisture in the skin, leaving it feeling soft and nourished. Sea Lavender: Provides powerful antioxidant protection, while also supporting long-lasting hydration. Active Ingredients: Avobenzone 3%, Octisalate 5%, Octocrylene 10% If you love this info, please like this post. ❤️
My Favorite Barely There Complexion Products
🤎 After being quarantined in my apartment for most of the year I really cannot tolerate the feeling of a full coverage foundation on my face. After months of not wearing any makeup the most I can tolerate now is a tinted sunscreen or a tinted moisturizer so here are some of my favorites I’ve found. 🤎 Supergoop Glow Screen: Man oh man is this a beautiful product. If you are oily you will probably hate it, but if you want a glow this product DELIVERS. It’s pretty light coverage and very dewy...almost like a tinted face gloss. When I first apply it it does kind of look like I’ve put liquid highlighter all over my face but when it sets it just gives this dewy, glowing from within beautiful complexion. It has enough coverage to even out my skin tone but I definitely would not say it’s enough to cover blemishes. But if you just want a glowy, light coverage summery look you’ll love this stuff. Once it sets it feels almost completely nonexistent on the skin and wears beautifully throughout the day. 🤎 Charlotte Tilbury Flawless Filter: This one is definitely the dewiest out of the four and I usually will mix it with another complexion product because on its own it’s a bit much for me. This is honestly really similar to the Supergoop Glow Screen but minus the SPF and even more dewy. It has enough coverage to even out the complexion but not to really cover anything. I really like to mix this with more matte full coverage products to sheer them out and add some glow. 🤎 Hourglass Hyaluronic Skin Tint: This is the most full coverage of the four. This one has an SPF 15, a natural finish, and light to medium coverage however it still feels incredibly lightweight and wears well throughout the day. It’s also a really good product for dry skin and doesn’t get flaky or cakey at all throughout the day. This tends to be what I reach for when I have some blemishes I want to conceal but I still don’t feel like doing a full blown foundation. 🤎 Koa Anti Pollution SPF 45: This is the least coverage and the most matte of the four. It has....almost no pigment but just enough to very mildly even out skin tone. It has a pretty pinky toned shade to it and dries down to a soft matte finish. This is a good product if you’re looking to just mattify your complexion and not cover much. This is honestly incredibly lightweight for a mineral sunscreen. It has a liquify, lotiony consistency and no white cast (at least on me but for deeper skin tones it might).

Friendly reminder to use spf today! ☀️
You gotta love spf! It protects your skin from uva/uvb rays and helps to prevent early signs of aging. Helps slow down the process of forehead wrinkles, crows feet, sun/dry patches and even skin cancer! It’s important to use this even on cloudy days. Remember to use a spf for your hands as well. Everyone should wear spf. Doesn’t matter if your complexion is fair, light, medium, tan, dark or richer dark. A few years back I didn’t like the feeling of spf but it was because I was using the wrong ones. I was using cheaper spfs that left a white cast on my face/ felt too greasy. I bought many different travel sized ones to figure out which were best for me. I have sensitive combination skin so my cheeks and chin are dry and my forehead and nose is really oily. My favorite spfs are: supergoop! Play everyday lotion spf 50. This is super soft and gentle on my skin. It spreads evenly and doesn’t leave a white cast or greasy. 2.4 oz for $22.00 Supergoop! - Play Everyday Lotion SPF 50 With Sunflower Extract Supergoop! Unseen sunscreen spf 40. This is clear and feels really soft. This would be great for oily skin. Whenever I use this it leaves my skin slightly matte. Doesn’t leave my skin greasy. 1.7 oz for $34.00 Supergoop! - Unseen Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 40 Coola classic body spf 50. I love this for my body. I also use this on my face. Doesn’t smell strong. 5 oz for $28.00 COOLA - Classic Body SPF 50- Guava Mango Up&up sport sunscreen lotion spf 50. One of the most affordable and really good spf I’ve used. This target spf is surprisingly good. It does have that spf smell unfortunately but it fades away once you’ve been wearing it for a few minutes. It feels kind of like the supergoop lotion texture. 16 oz and it’s only $8.99!
Sensitive Skin Ingredients
This is a great guide to show skin sensitive issues ingredients! When I was dealing with skin barrier inflammation, some of these products saved my life. Ingredients I swear by: Aloe Vera: this is great for inflammation and red skin. The plant is amazingly effective, but you can also buy the 100% gel at your local store as well! Fruit of the Earth - Aloe Vera 100% Gel SKINFOOD - Aloe Vera 93% Soothing Gel Green Tea: The tea is a favorite I drink every morning, but I also love this in mask form! TONYMOLY - I'm Real Green Tea Sheet Mask Vitamin C Derivative: There’s many forms of Vitamin C. The strongest, L- Ascorbic Acid, is mostly toted for their effects, but there are other options. Sodium Ascorbly Phosphate, Magnesium Ascorbly Phospahte, etc. If you have skin sensitivity (burning, tingling, etc) to Vitamin C I recommend : Seoul Ceuticals - 20% Vitamin C Hyaluronic Acid Serum Mad Hippie - Vitamin C Serum Lukewarm Water to Rinse: I recommend this no matter type of skin you have. Hot water can dry your face out, making you skin more irritable and sensitive. Less is Key: When experiencing sensitivity it can often be associated to new products and the amount you use on your face. You do not need a 10 step routine to treat skin issues I found when I was using 3-4 steps my skin was treated just as effectively, you just need to find what works for your skin. Mineral sunscreen: There are two types of sunscreen physical and mineral. Physical are usually chemical based and can cause irritation. Some great mineral sunscreens I’ve tried: Supergoop! - Unseen Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 40 Neutrogena - Sensitive Skin Face Liquid Sunscreen SPF 50 My skin is not as sensitive as it was before but this is great photo I got from (babeandbeauty on IG).
Supergoop! - Play Everyday Lotion SPF 30 with Sunflower Extract The Play Moisturizer is definitely my favorite and now a daily product for me. It’s like a hybrid between sunscreen and moisturizer texture. Supergoop! - Unseen Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 40 The Unseen Sunscreen is probably one of their most well known products, and that’s because it’s such a good sunscreen! The kind that once you try this one you won’t go back to your classic sunscreen. Supergoop! - Defense Refresh (Re)setting Mist SPF 40 And finally, the Defense Refresh is a mist that helps you reapply and touch up your SPF throughout the day! Perfect if you’ve got a full face of makeup on and just need a quick spritz. It doesn’t feel like much when you spray it on though, can be a good or bad thing.
Supergoop!-Defense Refresh (Re)setting Mist SPF 40
Brush your sunscreen
Brush On Block BRUSHONBLOCK - Touch of Tan Mineral Powder Sunscreen SPF 30 is powered by natural dry powdered sunscreen with no chemical sunscreen ingredients that you can brush under or above makeup. It is not any tanning powder but it does come in a hint of warm color when protecting your face from UVA, UVB, and IRA (infrared A) rays. With the dispensing brush, It is very convenient to apply and it will not give me greasy texture, messy hand, or white residue. I love it is small and portable that I can just put it in my bag and go. This new formula is tinted with a very light warm color so I use this as a touch-up powder as well. It doesn't stink my eyes and will not soak into clothes when applying it onto my neck (yes, you NEED SPF for the neck too, don't forget). It is safe for sensitive skin and children. It is paraben, PABA, and phthalate-free. BRUSHONBLOCK - Brush on Block Protective Lip Oil 32 BRUSHONBLOCK - Translucent Mineral Powder Sunscreen

Coola Make Up Setter
This is a make up setter and sunscreen in one! I’m absolutely obsessed with this and love to travel with it. It definitely is thicker and you can spray a couple of layers for sun protection. It dries really nicely and is matte so it works well with a light layer of powder before hitting up the beach for the day. It is a little pricey and does definitely smell like sunscreen so I wouldn’t suggest it for daily use (unless you’re outside of course).
COOLA-Makeup Setting Spray Organic Sunscreen SPF 30
Supergoop! Defense Refresh Setting Mist that I got. 🌟 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I took this with me on my overnight trip and it was really quick & easy to use. I was a little wary of the spray form because I had a feeling it would come out a bit stronger than other mists I use. 🧳 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It did spritz our firmly but evenly. It does have a bit of minty fragrance which I wasn’t expecting. It wasn’t unpleasant though. 😊 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Overall, I like it but I think I prefer a cream sunscreen. This mist, however, is ideal for traveling & for reapplication when I’m outside for extended periods of time on the weekend. 👍🏾

Brand Spotlight: Supergoop!
I discovered Supergoop through the “skinstagram” community (does using this term make me a boomer?) and loved their mission and that they’re a brand dedicated to SPF—that immediately increased my trust in them. However be careful what you wish for... Products I’ll be reviewing: Shimmershade SPF 30 Glow Stick SPF 50 Unseen Sunscreen SPF 40 MY FAVES: Supergoop! - Shimmershade Eyeshadow Shimmershade SPF 30 Eyeshadow: this is just an incredible daily cream eyeshadow formula. I hate the heavy feeling of facial SPF on my eyelids and this came in CLUTCH. It feels just like a lightweight cream eyeshadow and looks amazing. I have the shade “” and it looks incredibly seamless when blended in with my fingers for that “next level” eye look. The pot has a ton of product in it for the price point ($24) and I highly recommend you try it at least once. Get a sample from Sephora! Supergoop! - Glow Stick SPF 50 Glow Stick SPF 50: I was really hesitant about this one—I purchased it as a chemical SPF option that wouldn’t pill under makeup. Surprisingly, I love this formula. It doesn’t sit on top of your skin and feels super lightweight. It’s also really easy to reapply during the day! I like that it’s a solid stick formula so it won’t leak or spill in your bag. My only real complaint is the packaging. You push the product up from the bottom and it’s just kind of hard to control at time how much you push up. Like a push pop without being able to push it back down. It also lasts FOREVER so $25 doesn’t seem unreasonable to me. NOT SO MUCH - LEAST FAVE: Supergoop! - Unseen Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 40 Unseen Sunscreen SPF 40: this is a translucent blurring SPF formula. The texture is SO silky. I loved how it applied to my skin...but any time I use this, my skin immediately breaks out in a rash. I’m not sure why this happens. I’ve heard so many great things about this product but my experiences haven’t been great, and at $34, I can’t justify the price at all, leaving it in the bottom tier of this brand Spotlight. What are your favorites from Supergoop?

Fun in the Sun ☀️
I live in Florida and the weather these past few weeks has been... horrendous. It’s been over 90 degrees everyday and it feels like your face is going to melt off. If I’m honest I used to not really care about sunscreen but now I feel like I’m breaking some kind of law if I leave the house without it 🥴 Supergoop is one of the first more expensive brands of sunscreen I decided to try and I admit I spent a while picking one & finally decided on this one. Supergoop! - Play Everyday Lotion 50 Default Title ☀️ One thing I love about this sunscreen is that it blends smoothly into the skin and doesn’t leave any white cast for me. ☀️ It’s great under make up or alone because of how nice it blends in. ☀️ My only downside is that even if blends well, it’s still very thick and feels more like a beach day thick sunscreen (hence the name play!) instead of an everyday, barely there, sunscreen. Supergoop! - Supergoop! x Rebecca Taylor Setting Mist ☀️ I randomly found this setting spray at TJ-Maxx for only $7.99! I had been searching for something easier to apply with make up and my luck I spotted this one. ☀️ I’ve only used it about twice but the first thing I noticed is how good it smells! ☀️ The product sprays evenly, settles in nicely and dries pretty quick. ☀️ I love thats it’s so easy to take on the go & so easy to re-apply throughout the day & mixes great with a tinted moisturizer that also has SPF in it!
