How To Grow STRONG & HEALTHY Nails💅🏻✨
Here’s my nail story: I’ve always been the person in my friend with the nice nails that 9 times out of 10 always look freshly painted and without any chips. I’ve painted my own nails starting in middle school and always had them painted throughout high school and college. I also dabbled in soft gel nails in my senior year of high school and 1-2x a year throughout college. But I’ve always preferred painting my own nails because I love the act of doing it (it’s very therapeutic to me!) and I love being able to change colors whenever I want. My friends always complain about how their nail polish chips within a day and that they can never grow them out long before they break. Here are the tips I always tell them: Square nails with sharp corners always tend to get caught on thing as you grow them out so square-shaped nails can never last long. I like a squoval (square/oval) shape because it’s the natural curve of my nail bed and the rounded corners never get caught and break! Don’t cut your cuticles!!! I have never ever cut my cuticles before. My grandma always told me once you cut your cuticles you can never go back. Your cuticles are there on your fingers for a reason! They protect your nail bed!!! All I do with my cuticles is push them back with a cuticle stick and it gives me the perfect amount of space and shape for me to paint and follow. katya_reviewsOMG! I now understand why my nails always break. I’m obsessed with filling them square and I was always so frustrated with why they would break constantly. Thanks for solving this mystery for me😂

PR/Gifted // Bringing back to you guys @madeca_derma.us 🌿 Madeca Derma kindly sent me their brand new launch, the Revitalizing Sleeping Mask and I am loving it. Ingredients to highlight: - Niacinamide (I personally love this ingredient, it definitely works well for my skin although it’s not a necessity for me) - Squalane (Love!) - Pollen Extract (Interesting right?) - Propolis Extract (Great ingredient for those with acne prone skin) - Hyaluronic Acid - Honey Extract - Hydrolyzed Collagen The texture of this product is very light weight which is the perfect addition on top of my regular moisturizer (which is now thicker due to the colder months). I am loving the use of sleeping masks lately, I find them to be so great for the skin! The main thing I love about this product is that not only is it hydrating, it has ingredients that target acne prone skin! It’s a two in one! This does contain fragrance, but the smell is very faint. I don’t mind fragrance at all, it doesn’t make a product any less efficient for me. What is your favorite sleeping mask?
Glossier products I expected more from ✨
Ever since I received gift that were glossier products I’ve been a fan. I love the minimal aesthetic they have and most of their products are a hit for me. Unfortunately there are some that I didn’t really enjoy that much. Some products are just ok but for the high prices of some of these things I really set the bar high and expect quality results. The glossier hand creme. This came out in late April and I was super excited for this. Online it says it smells like their “you” perfume scent which I’ve liked from the samples I had. It’s not an affordable hand creme, it’s $18 and only has 1.7 oz. Nonetheless I really wanted it. I ordered it and loved the smell. The creme wasn’t oily or left a sticky residue. The only problem now is it has a weird smell. It’s only been a few months since I bought it. I’m kinda annoyed about it cause now it has a plastic smell to it. I try to put it on sometimes but the smell gets to me. The formulation is nice but if it only takes a few months for the smell to go bad then it’s not worth it to me. Glossier. - Glossier Hand Cream Mango balm dot com. I usually love bdc but this particular scent not so much. I expected this to be fruity and like a sweet juicy mango 🥭. It smell better than the actual taste. It does have that mango taste but more bitter. After having this on for a while it leaves a weird aftertaste. I just personally wasn’t a fan of this flavor. Glossier play colorslide. I wanted to love these eye pencils so bad. They’re made of wood so you have to sharpen them which isn’t a problem for me. I chose to order the shade “stable relationship” it’s a super pretty mossy green color. When I got it I immediately swatched it on my hand and it was nice. The color is amazing in person. Unfortunately whenever I apply this on my eyes it pulls and tugs on them. It’s never a smooth line. I have to go over some spots that the pencil skipped. Sometimes I warm up the pencil between my hands to soften the pigment but it’s always the same. If it wasn’t for the pulling and hard tip I’d love it. I have a couple other colors and they do the exact same. Online it says it lasts a while and that is correct. It doesn’t smudge easily. Glossier. - Colorslide Technogel Eye Pencil
the secret to long, strong natural nails
I’m about to let y’all in on the secret I’ve been using for years now to maintain my strong natural nails... BIOTIN. this is in a lot of women’s “beauty” supplements, but trust me when I say save your coin and get you a good multivitamin that contains biotin (most of them do!) as a little background, I used to bite my nails as an anxious habit for years. I was finally able to stop biting them, but they were pretty weak and would bend a lot, making it easier for them to break and tear often. I started taking a straight-up biotin supplement to help my nails grow longer and stronger, and while it did work very well, I switched to a multivitamin for two reasons: I wanted to save some money by only taking an “all-in-one” supplement (multivitamin) my dermatologist let me know that an excess of biotin can actually worsen acne I stopped taking the straight-up biotin pills about a year ago, and while I was worried the biotin in the multivitamin wouldn’t be enough, I didn’t notice any difference in my nails—they’re still long and strong! as you can see from the photo, this vitamin (which is just the walmart brand women’s gummy multivitamin) contains 500% of the daily recommended amount of biotin, which is PLENTY. keep in mind that this amount can worsen acne for some, so see how your skin responds. if the biotin doesn’t seem to agree with your skin, I would still recommend taking a multivitamin without it because getting your essential vitamins and nutrients is essential to maintaining healthy nails. does anyone else love biotin? and also does anyone else still love gummy vitamins even as adults? 😂
😭This time I feel disappointed at Dior❌Never buy its cuticle cream!
DIOR - Crème Abricot Nail Cream Dior is familiar to everyone, but most people definitely don't know its cuticle cream. Last year, because of my long-term manicure, there were peeling cuticles on the side of my nails for a period of time. Many bloggers recommended this Dior cuticle cream, which is not cheap. It cost me $28. I opened it with great excitement, applied it to the edge of my nails and nails, and found it oily and sticky. After applying it, you can't play with your mobile phone or do anything! If you subconsciously touch your hair, it will even stick to your hair! It's a nice little pot of cream that I kept at my bedside as a reminder to use it consistently, the only downside was it took a while to really absorb thoroughly. It was nice at hydrating my cuticles and preventing the hang nails, but it ended up getting too tedious to apply and massage every night... and I had to make sure it was fully absorbed so it didn't get on my sheets. Overtime, it started to smell funny too, like rancid oils (which it probably did go rancid). After using it for more than a week, I found that it didn't work on my cuticles at all. It cannot be used as a hand cream, so this is probably the most useless thing I've ever bought. I won't buy it again!

How I grow my natural nails
**Note that my nails used to be frail, brittle old things that could NEVER know length due to nail extensions! Just last year, I was so in love with getting nail extensions. The length, the designs, the colors—I did not go one week without my bare nails showing for most of 2019! Then last September, I decided my nails needed a break (and I needed to save some money!) so I started to rehab my nails! Rehabbing my nail beds The first thing to do is get your nail beds free from any damage from nail extensions. This takes some time! I let my nails grow but I always cut away when it started to get length. I was going off of the theory with hair; cutting it makes it grow faster. It worked because by November, my nail beds were healthy! Supplement growth To help my nails grow healthily, I took my biotin supplements. I love the nature bounty one bc it’s yummy mostly 😂 NATURE'S BOUNTY - Optimal Solutions Hair, Skin and Nails Gummies Prevent breakage A big reason my nails always broke was because I never protected them! So I started brushing them with .INC. - Back to Life Recovery Treatment & Base Coat which really kept it strong and healthy as it grew. I also stayed super conscious of doing things that would break my nails, like washing dishes, moving big items, etc. I live alone so I have to do all these things myself, therefore I wear gloves when doing dishes and try to avoid grabbing things with too much nail. Not sure how to explain the last one😬

If you have peeling cuticles or brittle nails, you can't miss this babe😘
Many people asked how to get rid of peeling cuticles and brittle nails, so today I'm going to share my tips with you. 1. Make sure to apply hand cream and sunscreen every day! 2. Wash your hands with warm water. Don't use soap frequently, or your hands will feel very dry after washing. I suggest you wash with a mild disinfectant hand sanitizer. Remember to apply hand cream and curicle oil after washing. 3. Don't tear the polish glue by yourself, which will bring damage to your nail!s You must use professional products to do so. 4. I sincerely recommendOPI - ProSpa Nail & Cuticle Oilto everyone, which contains avocado oil. It helps enhance nail nutrition. There are also white tea ingredients that can strengthen and recover damaged nails. Its smell is particularly good with light fragrance. After applying the hand cream, use the dropper to absorb the cuticle oil, drop it on the nail and gently massage until it is absorbed. It is not greasy after absorption. Keep on using it and your nails will be shiny! What do you think of this product?

Do you need cuticle oil? (Answer inside) 💅🏾
Yes, you do. WHAT IT DOES I think we have all had splitting cuticles, hangnails or flaky nails — especially during the winter. Well, cuticle oil helps nourish your dry, chapped skin while also moisturizing your nails. It stimulates nail growth by boosting circulation. Most cuticle oil blends have jojoba, flaxseed and safflower oils in them. (Avocado oil, vitamin E, sweet almond etc., are also popular oils.) WHEN TO APPLY IT Post-handwashing wash your hands (Be consistent. Your skin may become used to the hydration and become dry when you discontinue use.) While filing and shaping your nails Before you paint your nails HOW TO USE IT Place one drop of oil on each cuticle rub it in with your fingers, a brush or cotton ball/pad for a few minutes. Let sit. Wipe off the oil that hasn’t absorbed. NOTE: If you plan on painting your nails, then wash your hands of excess oils because the oil will act as a barrier you don’t want. Key to long nails
While I think my “ability” to grow really long, strong natural nails is largely due to my diet and hormones, there are some tips I want to share that can benefit anyone. -a mineral-rich diet, including lots of vegetables like kale and spinach for calcium, calcium supplements if needed (you can get yummy chocolate flavored chews) and honestly this my hack- tap water. Where I live, the coty is basically built over a bed of limestone which is known to be a good source of caliated rock, and I think that affects the water supply, so I get even more calcium in my diet. 😈 -this may be a no brainer- but pinch with your fingers- not your nails. I feel like we all know this, but for so long I was picking this up with my nails, and just applying too much pressure on my nails when cleaning for example. Channel that pressure into your fingertips and your nails will break much less. -I find that rounding my nails or giving them an almond shape makes less round for breakage too. When theyre squared and have corners, I always found hitting them against a surface would break the nail at its corner, so when I gave my nails softer edges this stopped happening. -lastly, i use an amazing top coat- essie - No Chips Ahead Top Coat it’s seriously amazing at strengthening your nails and keeping them hard as rocks (or nails if you like the pun) and is largely why I think my nails dont break, and are able to grow longer. I use this too coat over top of all my nail polish looks, and even if I’m not wearing any nail polish, I’ll still apply this as a clear coat. Let me know of other wqys you grow your nails, I hate when mine break 😭 #cheriepartner
