Skincare Line-up: Combo Skin Daytime ✨ (simple!)

Elizabethhhloves
When it comes to skincare, I probably have the most high-maintenance routines. But on some days, I do like to pare down my routine to just the “essentials”- especially when my skin is looking and feeling pretty good. I feel like this routine just covers all my bases by adding hydration, protection from free radicals with antioxidants, moisturizes, brightens and protects sun damage! 🤩 Background info on my skin: I have combination skin and am definitely acne-prone! My skin is pretty tough so it doesn’t get irritated easily by “harsher” ingredients and actives. SKINCEUTICALS - Hydrating B5 Gel
My go-to Hyaluronic Acid serum! It’s my favorite hydrating product because the Hyaluronic Acid seriously plumps up the skin and brings hydration to the surface of the skin. I apply a few drops of this on my palms and press into the skin. SKINCEUTICALS - C E Ferulic With 15% L-Ascorbic Acid Vitamin C Serum
My favorite Vitamin C/antioxidant serum! It brightens the skin, and boosts the performance of my sunscreen so I make sure to incorporate it into my routine every morning! This formula also includes L-ascorbic acid which is a rich antioxidant ingredient that neutralizes free radicals and protects against oxidative stressors, and Ferulic Acid which has similar benefits, enhances antioxidants and stabilizes the Vitamins C & E. THE inkey LIST - Brighten-i Eye Cream
Eye cream is one of those things that I have a love/hate relationship with. It’s undecided if I really see a difference as technically my serums and moisturizers should do the same thing- but I recently started using this one from the Inkey List that has brightening properties. I haven’t seen much brightening yet but it has a very lightweight, hydrating formula that I like. YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Adaptogen Deep Moisture Cream with Ashwagandha + Reishi
To lock in all the active ingredients in my toners and serums, I love this cream from Youth To The People because it feels thick and nourishing. The key ingredients in this cream include Squalane, Ashwagandha, and Fermented Reishi which together helps boost skin hydration, minimizes risk of clogged pores, reduces visible signs of fatigue and detoxifies and combats signs of aging. SKINCEUTICALS - Physical Fusion Uv Defense SPF 50
One of the greatest sunscreens I’ve ever used. This is super lightweight and feels like nothing when you have it on the skin- it’s the only sunscreen I can get my boyfriend to wear! It has 100% mineral filters that provides UVA/UVB protection and adds a natural glow to the skin.

Superfood SuperYES! 🌿
Talk about a refreshing cleanser! There are so few cleansers on the market that are actually full of ingredients I love and smell good! The scent is so light, crisp, and refreshing it’s like giving your face a salad! The product is a gel that creates a light foam as its lathered and leaves skin feeling fresh and smooth. I have tried other YTTP products and this is now tied with my other number one favorite, the YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Adaptogen Deep Moisture Cream with Ashwagandha + Reishi which I use daily. (Special thanks to Cherie for sending me a jar and getting me hooked!) YTTP’s website claims: 🌿Benefits: 🍃Kale: This leafy veg is a must-have for more than just your morning juice. It's rich in skin-loving phytonutrients and vitamins C, E and K. 🍃Spinach: A lightweight skin-soother that boasts a high natural moisture content and cooling properties. 🍃Green Tea: An anti-inflammatory oil packed with essential fatty acids. 🌿Claims: 100% Vegan ingredients Cold-pressed extracts Recyclable packaging Made in USA No animal testing No parabens No phthalates No sulfates The full ingredient list totally passes the checklist on harsh chemical free but it does have added perfume which can be a no-go for some people, especially with sensitive skin. Overall I loved it! Sound off below if you have tried it and don’t like it or are an every day user!! Retails for $36 YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Antioxidant Cleanser #CherieCreator

The gift of good skin!
For Christmas, I made my sister a new skincare routine! She has combo acne prone skin with some sensitivity and redness, she also complained of some dark circles around her eyes. She currently uses terrible products and is pretty lazy when it comes to skincare so she doesn’t even wash her face everyday! I tried to design something simple, affordable, and easy to keep up with (e.g. mostly drug store products) but also an effective starting point for her skin needs! How did I do? AM: Cleanser: OLE HENRIKSEN - Truth Juice Daily Cleanser Eyes: THE inkey LIST - Brighten-i Eye Cream Moisturizer: Aveeno - Calm + Restore Oat Gel Moisturizer PM: Makeup remover/lazy day cleanser: LA ROCHE-POSAY - Micellar Cleansing Water Ultra and Makeup Remover Cleanser: LA ROCHE-POSAY - Toleriane Hydrating Gentle Face Cleanseror CeraVe - Renewing SA Cleanser For Normal Skindepending on what her skin is doing Eyes: THE inkey LIST - Brighten-i Eye Cream Moisturizer: CeraVe - PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion For dry days or dry patches: CeraVe - Skin Renewing Night Cream Spot Treatments: ORIGINS - Super Spot Remover Acne Treatment Gelor PEACE OUT - Acne Healing Dots Masks: OLE HENRIKSEN - PHAT Glow Facial Maskand YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superberry Hydrate + Glow Dream Mask

Up close and personal !
As I’m waiting on my new skincare products to arrive as it might take a couple days I just picked up three products from my local Sephora. I was looking for a good oil cleansing balm because I LIVE for the double cleansing method it saved my skin from all that yucky grime. Anyways I picked up the THE inkey LIST - Oat Cleansing Balm tonight and yes it’s my first day using it but I love how it’s so gentle and soft on my sensitive acne prone skin. I will keep you all updated on it though for the weeks to come. Next I have heard such great things about First Aid Beauty and how they’re known to make products that are specifically for people with sensitive skin so I picked up the FIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair BarriAIR Cream Safe for Sensitive Skin I AM ALREADY OBSESSED! It is so light on the skin, but at the same time feels like it’s really seeping into my skin and getting what it needs to make my skin barrier nice. I will keep you all updated on it as well. Last I love me a good eye cream, I tried finding the THE inkey LIST - Brighten-i Eye Creambut they were sold out.. so instead I got the THE inkey LIST - Caffeine Eye Creamand I like how it’s light weight as well, but of course we will see a difference hopefully over time. Once the rest of my products come in I will all show you and update you on my skin journey❤️

Your face will thank you when you’re 35
I have no doubt you have already heard about the most amazing SKINCEUTICALS - C E Ferulic With 15% L-Ascorbic Acid Vitamin C Serum !!! I started to use this last year in October and wanted to give it couple times to see a difference in my face. This is by far the most expensive product I have ever bought and was for sure hesitant to purchase it or no. I decided to go ahead and buy it and have no regrets. Will purchase again and again. This is really the holy grail. Your face will thank you when you’re 35. What did I notice in my face personally? Over the summer I get dark spots on my crow’s feet. Upon starting to this vitamin C I have noticed my skin has gotten brighter now and the dark spots are disappearing. Don’t want to forget to mention that I used before the La roche pose vitamin C but did not see any difference in my face. Highly recommend this product for everyday use in the morning and please follow with your choice of sun cream... 😘SKINCEUTICALS - C E Ferulic With 15% L-Ascorbic Acid Vitamin C Serum

Ingredients to Build your Routine Around
I am 35 years old with two kids. I have dry / normal skin. My top concerns are fine lines & wrinkles, preventing aging, dullness, and dark circles. When I started my skincare routine, all I knew was that I started to notice fine lines & wrinkles and wanted to buy new products for “anti-aging”. After a lot of research, here are my Top 5 Ingredients with proven benefits for 30s Skin: 1. Retinol Retinol is a powerhouse for wrinkles. It is a synthetic derivative of Vitamin A. It alters the behaviour of aged skin cells. It smooths skin texture, enhances radiance and treats aging. Retinol can be irritating to skin, so build up your tolerance gradually starting with a lower percentage and only 1-2 days per week. DRUNK ELEPHANT - A-Passioni Retinol Cream Murad - Ready, Radiant, Retinol SKINCEUTICALS - Retinol 0.3 SUNDAY RILEY - Luna Sleeping Night Oil If you need an alternative to retinol because you have sensitive skin or you are pregnant or breastfeeding, bakuchiol is a good plant-based all natural alternative to retinol or rosehip oil is high in Vitamin A. HERBIVORE - Bakuchiol Anti-Aging Serum BIOSSANCE - Squalane + Phyto-Retinol Serum The Ordinary - 100% Organic Cold Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil 2. Vitamin C A potent antioxidant that helps reduce skin inflammation, irregular pigmentation, and promotes healthier collagen production. It neutralizes free radical damage and great for AM routine. DRUNK ELEPHANT - Time to Wake Up Duo SUNDAY RILEY - CEO 15% Vitamin C Brightening Serum SKINCEUTICALS - C E Ferulic With 15% L-Ascorbic Acid Vitamin C Serum VERSED - STROKE OF BRILLIANCE Brightening Serum 3. Exfoliate / AHAs Exfoliation is about boosting cell turnover. You should do it twice a week. Use different acids like lactic acid and glycolic acid. Build up a tolerance. You can use toners, serums, or creams. Kate Somerville - Liquid ExfoliKate Triple Acid Resurfacing Treatment SUNDAY RILEY - Good Genes All in One Lactic Acid Treatment The Ordinary - Lactic Acid 10% + HA FARMACY - Honeymoon Glow Serum 4. Peptides Peptides preserve and boost collagen production. Peptides are short chain amino acids that act as building blocks for proteins such as collagen. It improves the appearance of firmness and wrinkles. Extensive research supports that peptides improve skin function and appearance. The Ordinary - ''Buffet'' OLAY - Wrinkle Correction Serum with Vitamin B3+ Collagen Peptides PAULA'S CHOICE - Peptide Booster 5. Hydration In your 30s your skin tends to get dehydrated. Hydration will plump up skin. Add a hydrating toner, facial spray, hyaluronic acid serum. The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 **BONUS** SPF Never forget you sunscreen ☀️

The Best Serums I’ve Ever Tried 💖✨ so worth it!
In my opinion, serums are what make my skincare so effective. Usually serums contain active ingredients to help resolve and treat any type of concerns. I’ve tried so many serums, and here are my favorites! These are the products that I will forever repurchase because I can’t live without them: THE inkey LIST - Tranexamic Acid Hyperpigmentation Treatment I got a customized serum from The Inkey List when they first arrived at Sephora (in Spring). The main active ingredient in the serum is Tranexamic Acid. It’s an ingredient I’ve only recently started noticing in skincare products and I predict that it will become one of the next “it” ingredients! It first of all helps to calm the skin and restore the skin barrier. It’s also a powerful anti-inflammatory ingredient that also prevents the transfer of pigment in the skin. In other words, this will help to calm any pf my breakouts, and also prevent scarring and discoloration from breakouts. This has done wonders for keeping my skin looking clear even with the breakouts I get around the time of the month, stress, wtc. Even if I get a breakout, the scars fade quickly. SKINCEUTICALS - Hydrating B5 Gel This first serum I put on every day and night. This serum is mainly Hyaluronic Acid which helps to plump the skin full of hydration, in turn also reducing the appearance of fine lines and winkles. Putting this serum on as a first step also allows for the products you apply afterwards to penetrate deeper into the skin. SKINCEUTICALS - C E Ferulic With 15% L-Ascorbic Acid Vitamin C Serum This serum contains 15% pure Vitamin C, 1% Vitamin E, and 0.5% Ferulic Acid. It’s full of powerful antioxidants and enhanced with ferulic acid to boost the effectiveness of the formula. I wear this every morning after my Hyaluronic Acid Serum and always follow up with a moisturizer and sunscreen. I’ve noticed a brighter complexion and acne scars fading quicker. DRUNK ELEPHANT - T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Resurfacing Night Serum Do you ever get little bumps on your skin from congestion that aren’t whiteheads or blackheads? This is the perfect product to try. Glycolic Acid is a powerful exfoliating acid that helps to get rid of dead skin cells on the surface of your skin and deep into the layers of skin too. It’s super effective but quite strong so I would recommend using it only 2-3 times a week. I’ve seen much smoother skin and definitely a decrease in breakouts since using this.

My Thoughts on LUXURY SKINCARE 💸✨ Worth it? p.1
First of all skincare that’s a luxury to me may not be a luxury to you. I honestly think that it’s not the product brand or claims that make it a luxury, but the science, thought and ingredients behind it. We all have our own budgets and limits on how much we’re willing to spend so with everything I say on this subject, take it with a grain of salt! Skin Ceuticals. This is probably my favorite skincare brand- there’s so much research and science behind each product. My favorites include: - SKINCEUTICALS - Hydrating B5 Gel a super lightweight, but extremely hydrating and skin-plumping serum full of Hyaluronic Acid and Vitamin B5 - SKINCEUTICALS - C E Ferulic With 15% L-Ascorbic Acid Vitamin C Serum a potent anti-oxidant serum with Vitamins C & E, Ferulic Acid & L-Ascorbic Acid to help treat hyper-pigmentation and brighten the skin - SKINCEUTICALS - Retinol 0.3 a low percentage retinol for speeding up cell turnover without any irritation or overly drying the skin - SKINCEUTICALS - Physical Fusion Uv Defense SPF 50 a super thin serum formula with high SPF to protect your skin from the sun - no white cast! Drunk Elephant. Their products are expensive and get hyped up A LOT (which sometimes makes me not want to try them?), but I like that their products are usually centered around one main ingredient. I’ve tried: - DRUNK ELEPHANT - T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Resurfacing Night Serum which is a nice glycolic serum that helps to smooth and exfoliate the skin but I’ve tried other glycolic products like ALPHA-H - Micro Super Scrub with 12% Glycolic Acid which I find more effective! - DRUNK ELEPHANT - D-Bronzi Anti-Pollution Sunshine Drops just a bronze-colored serum but I don’t find anything too special about it or its ingredients. I fell for the “anti-pollution” claim- never again! Fresh. I love some and don’t love some. I like their whole “natural” approach but I find some of their formulas not effective on my skin at all. - fresh - Black Tea Kombucha Facial Treatment Essence I LOVE this facial treatment. I use it as an essence, as it contains Lactic Acid, to help gently brighten & smooth the skin. - fresh - Lotus Anti-Aging Night Moisturizer This is super moisturizing night cream that really plumps up my skin overnight so I wake up to glowy, bouncy skin! - fresh - Rose Deep Hydration Toner This is so disappointing compared to their Black Tea Facial Treatment. It does nothing to hydrate- just feels like overpriced rose water. - fresh - Rose & Hyaluronic Acid Deep Hydration Moisturizer I think the rose in the formula irritates my skin and turns it a little pink. I’ve just been using it as a body cream so I it doesn’t go to waste! Elemis- check out part 2!

Friends Don’t Let Friends Skip Sunscreen
Hello my fellow sunscreen beauties! Okay so this sunscreen is the absolute HOLY GRAIL of any sunscreen that I have tried. It feels like an additional layer of skin that’s how light weight it is. SPF stands for “sun protection factor” need I say more ?! SPF is the NUMBER ONE way to prevent skin from prematurely aging. Using an SPF lowers your risk of harming premature skin. UV rays cause wrinkles so if we can use a product to avoid those UV rays from penetrating the skin barrier why not do it, it only takes 10 seconds to apply it to your Face and will save you a lifetime of wrinkles! UVB rays are the bad type of sun that cause cancer. Wearing SPF lowers the risk of developing cancer! Always use 30 or higher. According to the Skin Cancer Foundation, “SPF 30 prevents 97% of UVB radiation and SPF 50 prevents 98% of UVB Radiation.” Even though we can’t see these UV Rays our skin can surely feel them! UVA(ultraviolet A) is associated with skin aging where as UVB (ultraviolet B) is associated with skin burning. As Neutrogena says UV(A)ging and UV(B)urning. Not only does this product feel amazing it also has this pretty warm glow to it to give the skin the appearance of flawless architecture! The glow is not overpowering but just enough. We’re not living in the 1920’S so we surely don’t want to look like a walking disco ball ! The compatibility of the sunscreen is also very nice when pairing with other Skinceuticals face serums as well as other bands. It does not crumble off.

Skincare Line-up: Combo Skin Nighttime🌜(simple)
When my skin is already looking and feeling pretty good, I like to simplify my routine a little just to not over compromise my skin barrier. This routine really helps me nourish, treat and target any skin issues without layering too many products. Background info: My skin is combination and acne-prone. It’s also pretty tough so I don’t get irritation from “harsher” actives and ingredients! SKINCEUTICALS - Hydrating B5 Gel My go-to Hyaluronic Acid serum! It’s my favorite hydrating product because the Hyaluronic Acid seriously plumps up the skin and brings hydration to the surface of the skin. I apply a few drops of this on my palms and press into the skin. SKINCEUTICALS - Retinol 0.5 Retinol Night Cream Retinol! This night cream contains 0.5% pure retinol which helps to promote cell turnover, improves the appearance of lines, wrinkles, discoloration and pores, and reduces breakouts! This particular cream is formulated with a Soothing Complex that calms the skin with Bisabolol and Boswellia Serrata Extract which soothes and comforts the skin. I apply two pea-size amounts on my finger tips, rub them together and press into my skin (focusing on problem areas). THE inkey LIST - Brighten-i Eye Cream Eye cream is one of those things that I have a love/hate relationship with. It’s undecided if I really see a difference as technically my serums and moisturizers should do the same thing- but I recently started using this one from the Inkey List that has brightening properties. I haven’t seen much brightening yet but it has a very lightweight, hydrating formula that I like. YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Adaptogen Deep Moisture Cream with Ashwagandha + Reishi To lock in all the active ingredients in my toners and serums, I love this cream from Youth To The People because it feels thick and nourishing. The key ingredients in this cream include Squalane, Ashwagandha, and Fermented Reishi which together helps boost skin hydration, minimizes risk of clogged pores, reduces visible signs of fatigue and detoxifies and combats signs of aging. THE inkey LIST - Rosehip Oil Rosehip Oil is one of the most nourishing antioxidant oils. This 100% pure rosehip oil helps to promote softer, smoother skin and the fatty acids help to nourish. I use this as my last step to seal in all my products because it’s so emollient. It always leaves my skin GLOWING✨

 Battle of the Vitamin C’s!
Battle of the Vitamin C’s!
Okay y’all, I’ve been trying to find the perfect Vitamin C to add to my routine and it’s been challenging. Since quarantine started, I’ve tried 3 different options from different brands and I’m here to share my review. I’ll start by saying that I’m not completely sold on any of these as a permanent addition so if you have any favourite Vitamin C’s comment below! I’ll add my reviews from least favourite to most... let’s go ✨ 3. THE inkey LIST - Vitamin C Serum 30ml This was my first The Inkey List purchase and while I love the price, I’m not a big fan of this formula. I found the cream (which is marketed as a serum) really thick and does not spread great on the skin. I found I had to use a lot to get the appropriate coverage or hydration that I expect for something with 30% L-Ascorbic acid. Disappointing overall 👎🏽 2. LA ROCHE-POSAY - Pure Vitamin C Face Serum I loved the texture of this serum! It was spreadable but not liquidy. It had a slight tack to it, but played really nicely with my following morning routine steps. I experienced no irritation. 3. REN CLEAN SKINCARE - Glow Daily Vitamin C Gel Cream Another solid option! This was a true light cream texture that I was able to easily apply prior to my moisturizer, sunscreen and any makeup. I experienced no irritation. All that to say, I did find 2 solid options for a Vitamin C product, the only downside to both the La Roche Posay and REN products was the price of the full-size product 💵 I was able to try both of these out with the minis, but it’ll be hard to justify repurchasing the full size. I think the REN sliiiightly edges out the La Roche Posay as a favourite for this review. I do have the full size of The Inkey List tube so I’m using that up before I make a decision! If you have any thoughts of suggestions, let me know below! 💁🏽‍♀️

AM Routine: Anti-Aging, Brightening, Soothing
My 𝗔𝗠 𝗥𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗲 has gotten longer since the beginning of quarantine and I have been seeing A LOT of -surprisingly rapid- hyperpigmentation improvement as well as overall brightness and evenness to my complexion since altering it. I rotate use of the various products, trying to give my sensitive combination skin rests here and there 🗓 • Daily: Omega+ Complex Serum, Barrier Repair Moisturizer with 0.1% Retinol, Youth-Extending Daily Hydrating Fluid with 50 SPF; B-Hydra™ Intensive Hydration Serum. • 4-5 Days per Week: 10% Azelaic Acid Booster; Ascorbic Acid 8% + Alpha Arbutin 2%; C-Tango™ Multivitamin Eye Cream. • 2-3 Days per Week: A-Passioni™ Retinol Cream. I am surprised by how gentle the 10% Azelaic Acid Booster and Barrier Repair Moisturizer are. I introduced them to my routine and saw such immediate results that I skipped my usual wait time and used them again the next day- with zero irritation. I waited a day, then used them both again- still no irritation! I don’t use the Booster daily, more for my wallet’s sake than for my skin’s, but I find it to be the perfect gentle AM exfoliant.

my perfect AM routine
my perfect AM routine
Hi guys!!! Today I am sharing my perfect AM routine. I like testing out different products and different routines, but these four products will ALWAYS be in my arsenal as staples for my normal to oily skin. I’ve been using this exact routine for about a month now, with very little changes to test new things. None of these things upset my rosacea or cause discomfort! My Skin Type: — normal to oily — blemish prone, — some hyperpigmentation/PIE — rosacea Why this is my perfect AM routine: — hydrating — calming/soothing — simple — treats hyperpigmentation Products included: — FIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair Wild Oat Hydrating Toner — FARMACY - Very Cherry Bright 15% Clean Vitamin C Serum with Acerola Cherry — Krave - Oat So Simple Water Cream — PAULA'S CHOICE - Youth-Extending Daily Hydrating Fluid Mini Reviews: — Wild Oat Hydrating Toner: perfect in my AM routine when I need some extra hydration AND to tone, but don’t wanna dry my skin out. I usually apply this with my hands, after I wash them, and just kind of pat the milky toner in. It’s a great layering product, and I can layer a few pats of this in before going in with my moisturizer. I make sure to bring this down to my neck and chest cause I don’t wanna leave those out! I am nowhere near empty because a little is a lot, but I would totally repurchase this for my am routine when I run out. $22 for 6oz, which is kind of a steal. — Very Cherry Bright vitamin c serum: first, it smells like cherries; but it’s not overly sweet and it fades quickly upon application! I have noticed a reduction of breakouts since I started using this, and and my skin tone overall looks brighter! It’s helping fade my hyperpigmentation and I’m on my second bottle of this already. Doesn’t irritate my skin as some VITC’s do, but is kind of soothing. It has kind of a juicy texture, not watery but not thick either. I know it’s a little pricy but I will probably exclusively use this for the long haul. — Oat So Simple Moisturizer: with oats and squalane, it’s hard to go wrong with this moisturizer. Again, here I go with the oats; they are hydrating and soothing and so calming. This moisturizer is perfect for my normal to oily skin for the day time, as it’s a water cream and not very thick. I will occasionally use an oil with this if my skin is dry, but this and the rest of my routine do a pretty good job at hydrating! — Youth Extending Daily Hydrating Fluid: my holy grail sunscreen. It’s THIN, so thin, so watery. It layers on nicely and plays well with the rest of my routine, and adds a bit of hydration as well. It has a slight blurring effect, meaning my pores look less defined when I use this. It’s SPF50 which is exactly what I need in the Florida sun. This works well with any makeup I put on top, from tinted moisturizers to sheer tints and foundations.

ID RATHER GET COAL THAN.... Krave - Great Barrier Relief this product is fragrance free but wow it smells BAD! This product is a soothing skin serum that aims to restore your damaged skin barrier. It contains tamanu oil, saffflower oil and rosehip seed oil. Tamanu oil has skin regenerative properties. Safflower and rosehip oil have skin nourishing benefits. It also contains ceramides and squalane. This has a super lightweight consistency and soaks into the skin so easily. I just can’t get over the smell long enough to see benefits. This product is great for anyone with dry skin, redness, sensitivity, stress and hyperpigmentation. GBR is 100% recyclable ♻️ I like the transparency of this company a lot. I will be giving this product away!
