BEST LIPSTICKS FOR BLOTTED LIPS
I love a soft, blurry lip look because it looks so effortless and natural, but super long-lasting and low maintenance! Here are my top choices for a blotted lip: 1) lisa eldridge - True Velvet Lipstick in Velvet Muse

Mwah!! XO My favorite lip glosses and lip stains
1. BURT’S BEES - Tinted Lip Oil My favorite everyday gloss! Hydrating. Natural looking. Comes in a pen with a brush applicator. I’m wearing Carmel Cloud here. 2. HONEST - Honest Beauty Tinted Lip Balm This one is also a good hydrating gloss. More of a sheer wash. Less glossy. Wearing Fruit Punch here. 3. Glossier. - Generation G Sheer Matte Lipstick Probably my least favorite in terms of hydration. But I love the Kool Aid stain color it gives. Wearing Jam here. 5. YVES SAINT LAURENT - Tatouage Couture Liquid Matte Lip Stain Most color. Feels satiny on lips. 6. BUXOM - Pillowpout Creamy Plumping Lip Powder I seriously love this stuff. It gives me just a little more definition and the color is like natural lip color amped up! Wearing Dolly here.
Generation G Looks Pretty Ggggood 👄
I love lipstick, but as someone who is always sipping, snacking and chewing gum, it can be a struggle to keep it on. That’s why I was excited to try Glossier’s Generation G Sheer Matte Lipstick. It’s supposed to look sheer and a bit, um worn (? I couldn’t think of a better descriptive word!). I chose the lipstick in the shade Zip, which is a pretty poppy red. I always love this sort of orangey red shade because it makes my eyes look crazy blue. The lipstick does what it says it will do. It provides a sheer wash of color that is buildable. I love the way it looks. It also wears off in a nice, not too noticeable way. I’m giving it four out of five stars only because it’s a little uncomfortable to wear. If you have dry lips it will not feel nice. Honestly, if half stars were possible, I’d give this 4.5, but all in all, I’m a fan! I’m probably going to buy another shade or two. Which do you recommend? Glossier. - Generation G Sheer Matte Lipstick
Makeup For Video Interviews 🖥✨#CheriePartner
As a May 2020 graduate, I’ve been doing a lot of interviews and phone calls over the quarantine period for jobs and internships. Along the way I picked a few key tips for achieving a flawless, professional makeup look perfect for video calls. All I want is to make the impression that I’m put together and perfect for the role! Of course, everyone has different kinds of makeup looks, and specific parts of makeup that make it “signature” to them (like a strong winged liner, or bold lip, or even a super bare natural face!). But for me, my “signature” looks is something quite fresh-faced, glowy skin, defined eyes and a tinted lip! Tips: 1) Stay true to yourself! If you never wear a red lip, don’t wear a red lip to the interview. If you always have a beautiful eyeshadow look on, definitely put some eyeshadow on! The truth is, when you feel most like yourself, the more confident you will appear to others. 2) Video calls tend to wash you out, so if you’re applying a color product maybe add a little more than usual! Here is what I used: HOURGLASS - Illume Sheer Color Trio This is a the perfect product to bronze, blush AND highlight the face! The formula is super creamy and soft, but definitely packs a punch with its pigment. The highlight also gives off a beautiful glow on camera! ESTĒE LAUDER - Double Wear Radiant Concealer I don’t feel the need for a foundation on camera as blemishes are generally not visible depending on video resolution. But I have really bad under eye circles that can make me look tired, so I always want a little concealer just to brighten up my face and eyes. This one is medium coverage with a natural finish on the skin. COLOURPOP - Brow Boss Pencil I always define my brows because they help to frame the face. This is an amazing inexpensive one that has the perfect waxy formula for adding fullness to the brows that looks natural. NUDESTIX - Magnetic Luminous Eyeshadow Defining my eyes is important to me because it’s a feature of my face that I really like. So a little glowy eyeshadow helps to bring attention to my eyes, helps me look a little more awake and defines it a little more. MAYBELLINE - Lash Sensational Mascara Full Fan Effect I know it’s near impossible to see individual lashes on video call but it helps a lot with defining my eyes! It also makes me feel more put together too just because I’d feel off if I had a full face of makeup and didn’t have mascara on. lisa eldridge - True Velvet Lipstick in Velvet Muse This is one of my favorite matte lipsticks because it’s super pigmented, non-drying but gives a matte finish. I add a little balm beforehand to keep my lips moisturized and to sheer the color a little. This is definitely a my-lips-but-better kind of shade.
TIKTOK #MAKEUPHACKS: FAKE BIGGER LIPS💋
There are SO many makeup hacks on Tiktok- and I wanted to try out a few~ The first hack I wanted to try was “faking big lips”! Step 1) Slightly over-line lips with a nude lip liner and don’t define cupids bow (just draw a straight horizontal line). KKW BEAUTY - Peach Lip Liners in Nude 1 I love this lipliner so much- it’s so creamy and easy to blend- the shade is also PERFECT for my lip color! Step 2) Fill in the rest of the lips with a lipstick. lisa eldridge - Velvet Fawn in Velvet Muse This lipstick is probably the best matte lip formula I’ve ever tried. It’s super creamy but has a soft-matte finish that can be sheered out for a stained look or piled on for more of a full-on look. Step 3) Use a brow pencil to fill in the corners of the upper lip, draw a thin line above the cupids bow and below middle of bottom lip. benefit - Precisely, My Brow Pencil Waterproof Eyebrow Definer Weirdly, this was a great contour shade for my lips! And this brow pencil blended into the lipstick easily. Step 4) Add a gloss to the cupids bow, and down the center of top & bottom lips. NUDESTIX - Magnetic Nude Glimmer Highlighter I love this gloss- it’s so shiny and adds a tint of color! There is a slight minty feeling that fades after 5 mins. Step 5) Smile! I loved this makeup hack! I’ve definitely seen similar tricks before but the eyebrow pencil was mindblowing! It’s a great shade for contouring my lips without having to buy a separate lip pencil! My lips definitely looked much bigger after trying this technique and I would probably do it again (but only for a photoshoot or for specific makeup looks- it’s not an “everyday” look for me)! Would you try this Tiktok makeup hack?

2021 Fashion Week Inspired Makeup - Chloé
This is the second spring/summer 2021 fashion week inspired look I did. Make sure to check out my other Cherie post for my Hermès look. This look inspired by Chloé focuses on smoldering, smudged out black-rimmed eyes, dewy skin, and juicy nude lips. The eye look was particularly interesting to me because of the blank spaces in the center of the model’s lower and upper lids. The base of this look is the same as my Hermès look. I’ve included the inspo photo that I found on Allure. Complexion: Glossier. - Futuredew Oil Serum Hybrid - this oil-serum hybrid is perfect for adding a glowy base on bare skin, under makeup, or over makeup on the high points of your face for a natural, yet wet-looking highlight. I used 1 pump all over my face under my skin tint, and a tiny bit dabbed on the tops of my cheek bones after my skin tint. $24 ILIA - Super Serum Skin Tint SPF 40 “balos” - light coverage to even out my skin tone and also amp up the dew. $46 e.l.f. - Hydrating Camo Concealer “light peach” - I used 2 tiny dots under my eyes to add some coverage. $6 AOA studio - Sculpt FX Contour “fawn” - the model does not appear to be wearing any cheek products; however, has beautiful, defined cheekbones. I don’t have defined cheekbones, so I used this to give a slight contoured effect. $1 Now the fun part! I used URBAN DECAY - 24/7 Glide-on Eye Pencil “perversion” to lightly outline the inner and outer portions of my top and bottom lash lines. I smudged this out with a pencil brush. Then I used the shade “black” from my LORAC - PRO Matte Eye Shadow Palette to intensify the smokiness. I made sure to keep the space directly in the middle of my eyes blank on both upper and lower lash lines. I then drew a thick wing on the outer corner of each eye, topped with black shadow, and smudged inwards. I couldn’t tell if the model was wearing mascara, but I added 1 quick coat of URBAN DECAY - Lash Freak Volumizing & Lengthening Mascara to add an extra pop to my eyes. For lips, I lightly blotted COLOURPOP - Ultra Matte Lip “little one” (limited edition, no longer available) to add a hint of nude to my lips. Then I topped with the ICONIC - Lip Plumping Gloss in “nearly nude” . This gloss is super glossy and wet looking - perfect for ultra juicy-looking lips! This look was so fun to create. Unlike the Hermès look, this isn’t something I would personally wear day-to-day, but for Halloween or the runway it’s perfect! It’s so hard not to smile in photos 🤪 #CheriePartner
Colourpop Nude Collection 👄
COLOURPOP - Ultra Glossy Lip COLOURPOP - Ultra Matte Lip COLOURPOP - Ultra Satin Lip COLOURPOP - Ultra Blotted Lip Colours： Fantasia - this one basically has NO color. It just adds this golden shiny layer on your lips. Magic Wand - this one is more yellow tone than it looks. Zuma - My favorite！Perfect Base color. Take a Pixie - darker than the other colors. Champagne - also just add some glow to your lips.
CHANEL RED LIPSTICK SWATCH
This is the Chanel Rouge Allure lipstick in the shade 169 Rouge Tentacion. I love the formula and color payoff of this lipstick. It’s creamy and quite pigmented. The packaging, as always with Chanel, is absolutely beautiful. I knocked a star off only because of price and because I don’t think this particular shade looks great on me. I’m not a red lip-wearer and I think the blue-red shade can look a bit intense on me. That being said, it’s a beautiful lipstick. CHANEL - ROUGE ALLURE Luminous Intense Lip Colour
CHANEL-ROUGE ALLURE Luminous Intense Lip Colour
Undone beauty is definitely one of my fave new brands for uncomplicated, quality yet affordable products! The brand offers a pretty good range of products, like this Light On lipstick that is so freaking amazing, it has an amazing finish, super glossy and hydrating and adds just the right amount of color. It’s definitely an amazing “my lips but better” kind of lipstick and they have a nice variety of colors. The one swatched here is the shade Gosh Garnet (cute name too!), it has the tiniest specks of gold and plum shimmers but it doesn’t look shimmery on the lips and truly reflects light so beautifully! KOSAS weightless lip color
This is one of my favorite lipsticks for a going out look. This is the shade Fringe which is described as a warm-toned earthy brick red. I get less of a brick vibe and more of a dark, maroon red. It’s light on the lips, doesn’t feel like I’m wearing anything too drying or matte. It has a satiny finish, which I like a lot, I don’t like my lipsticks too glossy or too matte. Kosas - Weightless Lip Color
Kosas-Weightless Lip Color
Kosas - Weightless Lip Color This lipstick was gifted to me by Kosas and I really love it. This is one of the two shades I received and this one fits me the most I believe, the other one was a little bit too pink. This is darker and in a more reddish tone. It’s really lightweight, feels like you have nothing on like it claims. And it’s still not sheer, still has a powerful color, although you can kind of decide that on how thick of a layer you want to go with. It lasts for a few hours as well!!! All in all it’s super smooth and goes on the lips like a dream. I’m a fan of the matte and square packaging too! Love this shade and this lipstick. Something extra is that the top is magnetic so it clicks so effortlessly! I definitely recommend this lipstick and find it not too pricey!

Colourpop ULTRA BLOTTED LIP SWATCH & dupe?!
The Colourpop Ultra Blotted Lip is an incredible dupe for Kylie Cosmetics’ Lip Blush. I own the shade Tattle Tail, which is a rose pink shade (swatched on my hand on the bottom). While it’s not a perfect shade match, the formula and packaging are nearly identical. A closer shade match may be Cypress Chill, also from the Ultra Blotted Lip line. COLOURPOP - Ultra Matte Lip

LEAST FAVORITE LIPSTICK SWATCH - Glossier Gen G
This is by far my least favorite lipstick. I love every single Glossier product I’ve tried except for this one. It’s marketed as a “sheer matte lipstick,” and while it’s definitely sheer and definitely matte, it literally looks like I have nothing on my lips. All it does is make them look completely matte and feel dry. This is the shade Like, “a light, cool pink.” I’m not sure if it’s just that this shade is too similar to my natural lips, but as much as I’d like to try other shades and see how others may perform on me, my experience with this one has definitely turned me off. This Black-Owned CBD Line Puts Community At The Center of WellnessCBD that is compassionate, effective, and gives back to the community? Yes, please!Feb. 5
My Mental Wellness Improved Through My Self AcceptanceWhen I was around 13 or 14 years old, I remember routinely taking one of my older sister’s black eyeliner pencils before school every morning. I’d arrive early so that I could slip away to the girl’s bathroom to apply a single black line to my eyelids. My parents didn’t allow me to wear any makeup at the time. Although this smudgy line on my eyelids didn’t make me look all that much different, I never felt comfortable at school without it. My teenage mind convinced myself that I needed some sort of cosmetic symbol in order to appropriately express my femininity. Up until that point in my life, society had told girls that looked like me - tall, Black, and with kinky hair - that we somehow weren’t as beautiful as the other girls. For far too long, I believed it too.Feb. 17
