*SUPER EASY* At-Home Gel Nails!!!
If you’ve read my other posts about my nails, you’ll know that I love doing my own nails. But I definitely still miss the glossy shine that lasts for weeks from a gel manicure. So I looked online for the easiest way to achieve gel manicures at home- and the answer is Le Mini Macaron. A full set of the gel manicure products comes to $30 and it includes one bottle of polish, a LED lamp (that comes with a USB cord) and a few packets of gel remover. This allows you to at least 20 or more manicures and pedicures. The only thing that will run out quickly are the gel remover pads but is easily replaceble with acetone you can get from the drugstore. Once you have a set, you can buy several shades of their polish for some variety! Each bottle individually is $11. This formula of gel polish doesn’t require a separate base coat or top coat- just apply 2-3 coats of gel and cure in-between coats! My two favorites shades from Le Mini Macaron is le mini macaron - Milkshake Gel Manicure Kit and le mini macaron - Cassis Gel Manicure Kit (an opaque white and a deep wine).

BEST NAIL POLISH BRAND EVER?! 💅🏻✨
When Olive&June launched their first ever nail collection last spring full of neutral shades with a variety of undertones, I fell in love (not to mention the super cute packaging AND genius marketing on Instagram). I bought their Pink Studio Box full of their basic nail tools and all of their neutral shades. I have every single one of their shades besides their new Summer Collection (which I am definitely planning to buy!) Slowly, I’m replacing all my other nail polishes with theirs and I’m not mad about it! The Brush: all bottles have a flat and wide brush that allows for optimal and flawless application The Formula: it’s so easy to use and allows for 2-3 coats if you want 100% opacity. Some of their more lighter nude shades require 3 coats because the 1st and 2nd coats can be slightly streaky. The top coat also gives the so much glossy shine (I often have people asking me if I have gel on!) Lasting Power: I can go almost 2 weeks without any chipping! There’s something about the formula that really allows their polishes to stay on and stay shiny. Extra Tips: 1) If you’re not used to painting your own nails, try OLIVE&JUNE - The Poppy Manicure Tool ! It’s a removable tool that attaches to the handle of the brush and allows for super easy and steady application. I personally don’t need it but it definitely helps with steadying the hand. 2) Re-apply the Top Coat once every 2-3 days to top up on shine and prevent the tips of your mani from chipping! (This is a tip from Olive&June Founder Sarah Gibson-Tuttle) Have you tried Olive & June before?
How To Grow STRONG & HEALTHY Nails💅🏻✨
Here’s my nail story: I’ve always been the person in my friend with the nice nails that 9 times out of 10 always look freshly painted and without any chips. I’ve painted my own nails starting in middle school and always had them painted throughout high school and college. I also dabbled in soft gel nails in my senior year of high school and 1-2x a year throughout college. But I’ve always preferred painting my own nails because I love the act of doing it (it’s very therapeutic to me!) and I love being able to change colors whenever I want. My friends always complain about how their nail polish chips within a day and that they can never grow them out long before they break. Here are the tips I always tell them: Square nails with sharp corners always tend to get caught on thing as you grow them out so square-shaped nails can never last long. I like a squoval (square/oval) shape because it’s the natural curve of my nail bed and the rounded corners never get caught and break! Don’t cut your cuticles!!! I have never ever cut my cuticles before. My grandma always told me once you cut your cuticles you can never go back. Your cuticles are there on your fingers for a reason! They protect your nail bed!!! All I do with my cuticles is push them back with a cuticle stick and it gives me the perfect amount of space and shape for me to paint and follow. Cuticle Oil (like Sally Hansen - Cuticle Rehab Oil ) is key!!! I appy cuticle oil literally wherever and whenever I remember. By keeping your cuticles moisturized your nails can grow out stronger and longer, and it also prevents any hangnails from forming. I love this cuticle oil so much! The packaging makes it easy to pack in your purse on-the-go and apply anywhere! The formula isn’t super greasy and won’t get your phone feeling oily if you use it right after application. I definitely prefer it to the othe cuticle oils I’ve tried. Hand Cream (like Glossier. - Glossier Hand Cream ) is super underrated for keeping your nails moisturized and healthy! I apply hand cream right after I wash my hands to moisturize my cuticles and keep my hands looking plump! Smooth and hydrated hands always makes your nails look better!! This hand cream from Glossier is alright- not the most hydrating hand cream I’ve tried but not the worst. It smells amazing and gives enough moisture for humid weather in the summer months! These are my biggest tips on keeping your nails strong and healthy! Also- if you do gel nails, give yourself a break every now and then. The chemicals in the gel can really damage your nail beds. I have many friends who rely on gel to keep their nails strong but it’s a vicious cycle that will keep your nails weak on their own!

FACIAL MIST SHOWDOWN✨
I’ve always loved facial mists- they’re easy to take on-the-go, perfect for refreshing makeup and prepping the skin! There are so many ways and reasons to use a facial mist and so I have 4 favorites to share; and all with different purposes! ELEMIS - Superfood Kefir-Tea Mist I use this facial spray as a “throughout the day refresher”. The fermented Kefir-Tea helps to soothe and hydrate the skin without disturbing makeup and drying out the skin! It also smells great too. I keep this one by my desk at work to spray whenever I feel like a pick-me-up! MAC - MAC Prep + Prime Fix+ Finishing Mist Whenever I want my makeup to last and not budge all day, this is the one I always reach for. It truly keeps my makeup in place all day and also helps makeup to blend into my skin and look like skin! It’s also a great formula to use when you want a little more staying power and pigment from your powdered eyeshadows- just spray some on your brush, pick up some color from the pan and apply! CAUDALIE - Beauty Elixir This is probably the best feeling facial mist! I love how it’s super refreshing on the skin, smells AMAZING (like a spa!) and leaves my skin looking G.L.O.W.Y. I’ll use this as a facial mist before and after my everyday makeup whenever I want more of a dewy/glowy look. The essential oils in this spray really help to treat the skin and promote a glow that doesn’t look greasy! Avène - Thermal Spring Water Spray This is my toning mist. I use it during my toning step of my skincare routine but not everyday. Whenever my skin is looking and feeling a little irritated or dehydrated, this is a facial mist that I’ll add into my routine. The main ingredient is Thermal Spring Water which has properties known for calming irritation and inflammation and hydrating the skin! *Because this is basically all just water in a can, I wouldn’t use this as a “refreshing” spray throughout the day because it can actually dry out the skin more if you don’t follow with a proper moisturizer! The other 3 sprays have some sort of glycerin or moisture-locking ingredient that prevents water loss in the skin over time so they’re fine to apply without following with moisturizer.
ONE-STEP TO GLOWY, GLOSSY SKIN✨
Are you looking for a product that gives perfectly glowy skin without looking like a greaseball? CAUDALIE - Beauty Elixir is my personaly secret to looking dewy and fresh! Ingredients: - Green grape to boost radiance and moisturize skin - Peppermint essential oil to tone and awaken skin - Rose essential oil to activate glow - Rosemary essential oil to help inflammation in skin and also act as an anti-bacterial for the skin This facial spray offers a super fine mist that is perfect for prepping the skin before makeup and to set the skin after makeup. In the summer when I naturally get more shiny in the T-zone, I’ll only apply it after I’m done with my makeup. But in the winter when I’m feeling more dry, I’ll apply it before and after makeup. It helps to melt your makeup into the skin, making it look more natural but it also helps to add a glow to the skin that becomes dewier over time!
MY HAIR ROUTINE *chemically-treated & damaged*✨
Shampoo: OLAPLEX - No. 4 Bond Maintenance Shampoo This is the shampoo I use the most- it really helps to keep my hair looking and feeling healthy. It keeps my hair color from fading, strengthens each strand and is great at cleansing my hair without stripping it of its natural oils! Briogeo - Scalp Revival Charcoal + Coconut Oil Micro-exfoliating Scalp Scrub Shampoo This helps remove any product build up in my hair and definitely leaves my hair feeling super clean. I use this probably just once a month as it’s super clarifying and can dry out my hair. Fanola - No Yellow Shampoo I use this one once every few washes to maintain my hair color. It’s the most potent purple shampoo (that’s also super inexpensive!) I’ve ever used and one bottle lasts around 8 months for me. I lather it into my hair, tie up my hair in a bun so it doesn’t drip purple water all over the shower while I exfoliate, shave, etc. and after 10 mins rinse it out. Conditioner: Briogeo - Don't Despair, Repair! Deep Conditioning Hair Mask I use this hair mask in lieu of conditioner because I already take several days to wash my hair so why not use every hair wash opportunity to treat my hair too? This hair mask is super lush- it smells amazing and also leaves my hair super soft. Treatment: OLAPLEX - No. 3 Hair Perfector This is such a popular hair treatment for people who have damaged or chemically treated hair! I love this so much because I can truly feel and see a difference in my hair. I apply this like I would a hair mask to my hair before showering and I’ll leave it in for 15-20 minutes before following with my usual shampoo and conditioner. Oils: OLAPLEX - No. 7 Bonding Oil NatureLab. - Perfect Shine Oil Mist Honestly both these hair oils are super similae in what they do for my hair. They keep my strands super soft and shiny withgout looking greasy. They help to protect hair from heat (so I apply it throughout my hair before blowdrying or using any type of hot tool) and also help to add shine and tame frizz after I’ve styled my hair.

sweet sweet hydration 🥰🥰
Soooooo say hello to your new best friend. Youth to the people are honestly my favourite brand ever. I’m a huge fan of their ethics and moral towards skincare and the world. Plus for me personally youth to the people skincare products are very effective at treating my skin. Their cleanser and toner are my perfect duo so when I finally got my hands on this product I was super excited. This moisturiser has such an interesting texture. It has a creamy gel like texture therefore very lightweight on the skin but still hydrating. I love how this product absorbs into the skin, it instantly calms and soothes the skin. Personally I have dry skin which is acne prone and I find with this moisturiser I haven’t got any issue. This cream is hydrating and moisturising enough that my skin doesn’t feel dry by the end of the day. Plus it isn’t comedogenic so my skin doesn’t breakout after use. Bonus the ingredient ashwagandha is a eastern medicine ingredient used to help treat stress skin. So I found which my skin has reacted to something this product is a real life saver. How I like to use this cream: I found this to be a perfect day time moisturiser for my skin type. It works well on top of serums and vitamin c. Plus I don’t find an issue when apply a sunscreen on top of this moisturiser. Bonus makeup sits perfect on top of this cream. My skin looks so calm and soothed and very hydrated therefore little makeup is needed!! At night time this moisturiser isn’t hydrating enough on its own but works perfectly under other thicker creams (for me personally!!). Overall: this youth to the people moisturise is incredible and I fully recommend to anyone who loves a lightweight cream but still looking for hydration! Side note my mum is also obsessed with this cream she loves it for her drier mature skin! 10/10 would definitely recommend 💗 YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Adaptogen Deep Moisture Cream with Ashwagandha + Reishi

I love using this cleanser when I’m in the middle of a breakout or even when I see my skin starting to be sensitive and in need of a medicated cleanser. The 2% salicylic acid is perfect for acne prone skin and really calms everything at the same time as well. I don’t recommend daily use as it can dry your skin excessively but definitely a must when I see that annoying pimple coming my way!

Fresh face mask set *edited 2/1/20
Okay I’ve officially hoped on the fresh bandwagon, my goodness I love them so much! Rose face mask? Very hydrating leaves my skin baby smooth The sugar face polish? A nice gentle exfoliation, I’m used to stronger exfoliation but this one I actually really like, smells like sweet strawberry sugar The lotus rescue mask is a more stronger exfoliant which I really like too, guys I’m crazy about exfoliating Then finally the black tea firming night cream- I loved this at first very beautiful and thick, but it’s also kinda oily, one layer wasn’t enough when I got out of the shower so I came back to do a second coat on my face and noticed my hands looked oily, then I felt my face and it feels like there is some oil leftover when the cream absorbs, might just mean ultra hydrating goodness but I’m starting to break out because of this, if you are interested in this cream buy the sample size or get it with a set because it’s way too expensive to buy on a whim. Black tea eye cream- I got a tiny sample of this thank god because after using it for a week one of my eyes has like this red bump rash and is developing milia those little white bumps, so this eye cream is a huge no for me. I’ll go back to my tatcha eye cream thank you very much Bought this set off fresh website and I really love the masks and I am glad I got to try the black tea firming night mask but that baby did not work out for me, too heavy on my skin which is weird cause I have winter dry skin. 4/5 cause the masks are worth it I love em

YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Antioxidant Cleanser In the past I have tried harsh and stripping face cleansers to try and help reduce my acne but really would just inflame it more, so I started looking for gentle but effective cleansers. The Kale + Green Tea Spinach Vitamins Superfood Cleanser from Youth to the People is an amazing simple cleanser, after my first use my skin felt clean and purified instantly. I have been using this cleanser for about 4 months now and have gone through two travel size bottles and now decided to purchase the large size. Although this product has not helped to clear my acne, I will continue to repurchase this cleanser because it helps with the overall appearance, texture and health of my skin. Great gentle and purifying cleanser!!

The Inky List
Have you tried @theinkeylist If not, you’re missing out! . I decided to explore this brand when I took a look at their price point and ingredients. You can’t go wrong when not a single product is over $15!!! The founders believed that skincare should be accessible for everyone as well as easy to navigate and understand. All products are easy to understand and clearly state what they can do for you. I also like that they explain what products to avoid mixing together. . I started with Hyaluronic Acid - $8 - and found the formula to be okay. It’s not my favorite, @deciem formula is actually my favorite, but either one is a great option. I think I just prefer the dropper better over the squeeze bottle of The Inky List. I end up with too much coming out at times. But the hydration this gives me is A+. My face feels and looks instantly dewy. That healthy glow! ✨ If you don’t have HA in your life, you’re missing out! . Next up I ordered their Retinol - $10 - but only just started using it consistently. It’s a very easy formula to work with and I layer on the lotion after to make sure I have no issues with irritation. I’ve had a few small breakouts but nothing crazy. I plan to use something stronger after I finish this. . See yesterday’s post regarding the Sea Kelp - $10 . And I just picked up the eye cream Caffeine - $10 - . I got it initially for my husband. He has serious eye bags and I wanted to put this to the test but he isn’t cooperating with me. I gave it to my daughter to try as I am still working through my @farmacybeauty Cheer Up. She has dark circles and puffy eyes so I’m anxious to hear her thoughts. . What do you use from The Inky List? What should I try next? . Happy hump day! 🌼
