Hydrating Toning Mist: When to Use It?
Hydrating Toning Mist: When to Use It?
Hi all, I’m looking for a little advice! 🌟 I’ve been incorporating toning mist into my routine for a while now. Up until recently, I haven’t noticed much difference using it, but have kept it to it as I know toner is considered a necessity in a skincare routine. I usually use G.M. COLLIN - Hydramucine Treating Mistafter cleansing, but for the past few days I’ve been using it after serums instead. I normally have a problem with moisturizers pilling after serums (all TO products) but I find using this between those steps helps my moisturizers absorb much better with little to no pilling! My question is: when do you use toning mist? After cleanser, before serum? After serum, before moisturizer? Both? Neither? Any insight would be greatly appreciated! ❤️

First voice over hope you guys like it. ✨UPDATE✨ I have continued to use the: VERSED - WEEKEND GLOW toner mixed with the cocokind - Raspberry vinegar toner and I L❤️VE this combo soooo much! Definitely keeps hormonal breakouts at bay and during inactive hormonal periods keeps my skin clear as the blue sky😍💁🏼‍♀️ If you’re interested in my other products, I have other posts that talk about them and decided to not post about them again here, as I didn’t want to bore anyone 😇😂

NOOO NOT MASKNE 😰
NOOO NOT MASKNE 😰
Typically I have pretty dry skin which has never caused me too many breakout... Now I’m back to work and I wear these face masks for over 10 hours and BOOM these bad boys start showing up on my face!! UHHHHH I plan to start using this toner every day in hopes to kill off the bacteria on my face! This Mario Badescu toner is ideal for combination or dry skin! It has anti aging properties and its alcohol free! (Exactly what I need right now!) It retails for $18 and I got mine at ulta! {TIP: change your mask everyday or multitask times a day, I’ve heard this helps! I started trying this yesterday! Fingers crossed it works!! } If you are also wearing a face mask for long periods of time like me, make sure you have some couch drops preferable menthol close by! It has helped me so much with the dry mouth!! ❤️ #cheriecreator MARIO BADESCU - Glycolic Acid Toner

MUSHROOM magic for CALM skin
MUSHROOM magic for CALM skin
This is the Dr. Andrew Weil for Origins Mega-Mushroom Relief & Resilience Soothing Treatment Lotion. It is a watery, hydrating liquid lotion that claims to calm redness with soothing mushroom extracts while prepping skin for subsequent serums and moisturizers. The product is formulated with three different mushroom extracts: reishi, fermented chaga, and coprinus. This is the second bottle I have purchased of this product, it’s a longtime favorite of mine. You can buy this really pretty limited edition botanical printed bottle at Sephora or just get the standard green bottle, it’s the same exact product just in different packaging. I’ve always gotten noticeable results from using this product, I don’t even need to wait overnight to notice my redness starting to fade after using it. Since it works so well at calming down my skin, I always have this on hand after wiping off chemical peels or drying clay masks that irritate my skin a bit. It’s really great at keeping my acne flare ups from getting out of hand. As I mentioned, this “lotion” is more like a watery essence. I usually apply it directly to my skin as to not waste any product , or you can drop it into a cotton round (as I’ve shown here) and wipe it onto your skin that way. Sometimes when my skin is particularly angry I like to soak a few cotton rounds with this and let them sit on my face for a little bit, kind of like a quick DIY sheet mask (you can use this trick with any sort of essence or toner, just make sure you lay down so the cotton rounds don’t fall right off). My only concern about this product is the numerous essential oils high up in the ingredient list. I’ve read a lot of conflicting information about the use of essential oils in skincare products. From my understanding, they can be sensitizing and irritating to some people’s skin. I’ve never had any irritation issues with this product, however I’m also not thrilled with how many of these oils are higher up on the ingredients list than the mushroom extracts which are supposed to be the highlight of this formulation. I think the results I’m getting are really impressive, I’m just not super impressed with the ingredients overall. The product is $35 for 6.7oz full size, $20 for 3.4 oz mini on the brand’s website, and $56 for 13.5oz jumbo at Ulta. Unless you know for a fact that your skin is sensitive to essential oils, I would say give this product a shot if you’re looking for a skin soothing type of product. It’s a bestseller and I can see why. ORIGINS - Dr. Andrew Weil For Mega-Mushroom Relief & Resilience Soothing Treatment Lotion Limited Edition

Nakeup Face Stress Zero Toner
Nakeup Face Stress Zero Toner – I am familiar with this Korean Beauty / Skincare brand as they have beautiful makeup, but I had not tried any of their skincare items previously. Safe ingredients help soothe and moisturize sensitive skin. Made with 90% Sea Water (more on this in a bit), Water Free Toner, pH 5.0 Low Acidity, Ethanol Free. Contains Centella asiatica extract and portulaca Oleracea extracts that calm your skin. I had to look up the benefits of sea water in skincare as this concept was new to me. Sea water is great at removing toxins and pump your skin full of minerals such as magnesium and potassium. It can also be good for cleaning pores, balancing oil & sebum and kill the bacteria that can lead to acne and rosacea (hmmm…never knew that was caused by bacteria). My thoughts on this product as a toner. Not bad. I do confess though I have only been using for a few days so it’s not enough to contribute any positive skin changes to it yet. I don’t hate it. Would I recommend – sure – if you are looking to try something new – go for it.

My fav Pixi product is the Ros
My fav Pixi product is the Rose Tonic! I've been using it everyday since I got it, so today I thought I will give more in depth review about that one.⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ Btw, did you know the difference between toner and tonic? I read somewhere that toners tend to be more nutritious than tonics that are usually lighter products. But basically I think they are the same, so in this post I'm referring to this product as toner.⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ Even though it looks pink from the outside, the toner is actually transparent, clear and watery. It means that the pink color comes entirely from the pink tinted plastic bottle. The rose scent itself is quite strong from the added rose water extract. ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ The Pixi Rose Tonic is specifically formulated for sensitive skin, like myself. And the day this pretty set landed on my desk, my skin was in a woeful state: inflamed and breaking out from a Retinol purging. I didn't have high hopes, but figured it couldn't hurt to try considering the ingredient list looked promising. ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ That night, after cleansing my skin, I squirted some on a cotton pad and swept it gently over my skin, making sure to focus on areas where I was experiencing the most inflammation. When I looked in the mirror, my skin was quite calmer in color, as the redness from inflammation had gone down. And my skin also feels soothed and calmed, I love when skincare does that! I can even applied a second layer of the stuff for more hydration, followed up by a humectant rich serum. The following morning, my skin still feel plumped. ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ Needless to say, if you suffer from sensitive skin that's reactive. I highly recommend giving this set a try. With that said, I think it's a great way to use this Rose Tonic after exfoliating or when your skin is slighty irritated due to acne treatments or inflammation.⁣⁣⁣ ⁣
