My experience with The Ordinary’s popular peel
The chemical peel that is sweeping the internet by storm. After seeing multiple reviews and watching so many videos on YouTube about it, I decided to take the leap of faith. I have been using this peel for 3 weeks now and this is my 4th treatment. My only intent for this post is to give my honest opinion on this peel and how it fits in my current routine. For reference, that although this product is referred to as a ‘peel’ it is more of a chemical exfoliant, so you shouldn’t experience any actual peeling of your skin. The The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution works to peel off the top layer of your skin cells. Some people may feel a slight burning/tingling feeling while it is on. And due to the high concentration of the peeling acids it is recommended not to keep it on longer than 10 mins and only use it 1-2x a week to prevent damage to the skin from over peeling. Before using this product it is recommended that you patch test it, to see if your skin could have a sensitivity to this solution. The solution claims that “The scientifically developed formula delivers a specified blend of 30% Alpha Hydroxyl Acids (Glycloic, Lactic, Tartaric and Citric) as well as 2% Beta Hydroxyl Salicylic Acid. The pair have been carefully pH balanced for optimum efficacy, working to deeply exfoliate the surface layer of skin, unclog pores, combat blemishes and visibly improve uneven textures.” I honestly love this peel so much but it’s not an over night fix. When I used this for the first time I did see immediate results, my skin was exfoliated, softer, and brighter overall. But like all other products it didn’t clear all my blemishes and make my skin magically flawless, but I didn’t expecting to! Like all other skincare products you start seeing results over time with consistent use. And after using it for 3 weeks I can confidently say this has improved the texture of my skin and help lighten my acne scars. When I run out of this bottle I will definitely be repurchasing it. For reference I use this peel once a week for 10mins. ✨MAKE SURE YOU WEAR AN SPF AS ACIDS CAN MAKE YOUR SKIN MORE PRONE TO SUN DAMAGE✨

The Ordinary: Does it Actually Work?
The Ordinary products all over the internet and people seem to really love their products ( and how affordable they are! ) This brand has helped tons of people so I wanted to try it out for myself. 😊 UPDATE: I’ve been using these for 2 weeks and my skin looks SO MUCH healthier and glowy!🙌 I have combination, sensitive, acne prone skin with hyperpigmentation and these are the products that I chose: The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution This is a glycolic acid toner meaning that it is a chemical exfoliant and in my opinion it’s better than a physical exfoliant because you’re not physically scrubbing away at your skin and with that being said, a slight stinging sensation is normal. This exfoliates, brightens, and promotes even tone and texture. You can use it Am + Pm just as long as you wear spf in the daytime. Best part is it’s only $8.70 CAD!🌸 The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% This is a holy grail product for acne. It is a water based serum that greatly improves blemishes, enlarged pores, and oily skin. You can apply this Am + Pm without spf and I can’t wait to see how my skin gets better thanks to this serum! It’s only $5.90 CAD which is amazing for a product this effective!✨ (note: when applying, it does look a bit soapy because it is niacinamide but it blends out nicely) (Do not mix with vitamin C!!) The Ordinary - Ascorbic Acid 8% + Alpha Arbutin 2% Aka vitamin C.. This has tons of benefits for your skin. It helps with hyperpigmentation, dark spots, uneven tone, signs of age, and it is an antioxidant. It’s an oil based serum meaning it should be applied after water based products and before your moisturizer. You can apply Am + Pm ( with spf ) and remember that vitamin C shouldn’t be mixed with Niacinamide! 🦋 The Ordinary - Alpha Arbutin 2% + HA Alpha Arbutin is a brightening serum, it fades hyperpigmentation and dark spots. It’s water based and can be used Am + Pm ( with spf ) and it’s only $8.90 CAD💐 The Ordinary - Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA This is a super hydrating moisturizer! It has a bit of a thicker, creamy texture to it and my initial thoughts were that it was going to feel too heavy and greasy on my face but once it was all blended in, it felt pretty good! It’s not too shiny on the more oily areas of my face and it keeps the dry areas nice and hydrated. It’l definitely seal in all the goodness underneath:)💖 UPDATE:The moisturizer as I mentioned is thicker than the ones I typically go for and I noticed that when I apply it and go to bed shortly after, my face sticks to my silk pillow case so it definitely takes a bit to sink into your skin hehe ** Please do your research before purchasing from The Ordinary because their products are at higher concentrations of specific ingredients. Some need to be worn with spf or layered differently and some can’t be mixed with others.**😘
