Best Vit C for Sensitive skin

avatar
Deanalaura
I've tried several Vit C serums which all broke my face out. This one, however, has not. I'll use this one from Versed at night and Niacinamide and Zinc serum (from The Ordinary) in the morning. I've noticed my face looking much brighter in the mornings before I even use my Niacinamide. 💕 VERSED - STROKE OF BRILLIANCE Brightening Serum
contains Vit C, algae extract, licorice root (which will target hyperpigmentation dark spots and sun damage), palmaria palmara extracts (which are skin-lightening agents), Curcuma Longa which is Turmeric (known you lower inflammation) & my absolute favorite Niacinamide (Vit B3 that will reduce discoloration) I only gave it 4 stars because I notice that the Turneric gives the serum a slight orange tint to it, ergo giving the face a slight orangey look (BUT again it lowers inflammation) This products still works spectacularly.

How I Built an Entire Routine for Under $150
For a long time I was intimated by skincare because it seemed very expensive and overwhelming. How do I know what to buy 🤷🏻‍♀️ When I started noticing wrinkles that was enough of a push for me to invest in skincare. Here’s some great lessons I’ve learned to build your skincare routine affordably: 1. Research to figure out what you need- here’s where my love of @cheriestarted! I read lots of reviews, advice, so I knew what type of products I should buy and what ingredients I should focus on. 2. Keep it Simple It’s easy to want to buy new products, adding new steps or ingredients to your routine, or try out the hype after reading reviews! Focus on your concerns and add slowly to give your skin time to adjust and see what’s working. It’s better to have a few great products that you love than many products you don’t use. I started with: Cleanse AM antioxidant serum, PM anti-aging serum Moisturizer Sunscreen Toners, eye cream, facial oil, and masks can be extras if you are looking to save money 3. Spend your money on the middle - if you can only splurge on one product make it the serum! This has the most benefit. Drugstore cleansers, moisturizers, and spf are great! 4. Try some great affordable brands such as The Ordinary, The Inkey List, Versed, or CeraVe 5. Buy trial size first, Value Sets or better free rewards before investing in a new product 6. Once you’ve found your Holy Grails keep your eyes open for sales to stock up, join the brands mailing list or reward program, buy value size Here’s my current skincare line-up and how much it cost me: CLINIQUE - Jumbo Liquid Facial Soap Mild Use AM & PM Bought on sale for $27 for 13.5oz CLINIQUE - Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm Use PM Free from Clinique rewards pixi - Glow Tonic pixi - Milky Tonic Rotate PM Bought multi-pack on sale for $22 OLE HENRIKSEN - Banana Bright Eye Crème Use AM and / or PM Bought on sale $25 The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 Use AM $6.80 VERSED - STROKE OF BRILLIANCE Brightening Serum Use AM $26.99 OLAY - Wrinkle Correction Serum with Vitamin B3+ Collagen Peptides Use PM Bought on sale for $32 BIOSSANCE - Squalane + Lactic Acid Resurfacing Night Serum Use PM 1-2 times per week Free from Sephora Rewards Bazaar CLINIQUE - Moisture Surge 72-Hour Auto-Replenishing Hydrator Use AM & PM Free gift with purchase from Clinique CAUDALIE - Vinoperfect Instant Brightening Moisturizer Use PM when not using lactic acid Free offer with purchase from Sephora The Ordinary - 100% Organic Cold Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil Use PM $9.90 (Not pictured) currently using my kids Banana Boat Kids Simply Protect SPF 50 as my sunscreen

Ingredients to Build your Routine Around
I am 35 years old with two kids. I have dry / normal skin. My top concerns are fine lines & wrinkles, preventing aging, dullness, and dark circles. When I started my skincare routine, all I knew was that I started to notice fine lines & wrinkles and wanted to buy new products for “anti-aging”. After a lot of research, here are my Top 5 Ingredients with proven benefits for 30s Skin: 1. Retinol Retinol is a powerhouse for wrinkles. It is a synthetic derivative of Vitamin A. It alters the behaviour of aged skin cells. It smooths skin texture, enhances radiance and treats aging. Retinol can be irritating to skin, so build up your tolerance gradually starting with a lower percentage and only 1-2 days per week. DRUNK ELEPHANT - A-Passioni Retinol Cream Murad - Ready, Radiant, Retinol SKINCEUTICALS - Retinol 0.3 SUNDAY RILEY - Luna Sleeping Night Oil If you need an alternative to retinol because you have sensitive skin or you are pregnant or breastfeeding, bakuchiol is a good plant-based all natural alternative to retinol or rosehip oil is high in Vitamin A. HERBIVORE - Bakuchiol Anti-Aging Serum BIOSSANCE - Squalane + Phyto-Retinol Serum The Ordinary - 100% Organic Cold Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil 2. Vitamin C A potent antioxidant that helps reduce skin inflammation, irregular pigmentation, and promotes healthier collagen production. It neutralizes free radical damage and great for AM routine. DRUNK ELEPHANT - Time to Wake Up Duo SUNDAY RILEY - CEO 15% Vitamin C Brightening Serum SKINCEUTICALS - C E Ferulic With 15% L-Ascorbic Acid Vitamin C Serum VERSED - STROKE OF BRILLIANCE Brightening Serum 3. Exfoliate / AHAs Exfoliation is about boosting cell turnover. You should do it twice a week. Use different acids like lactic acid and glycolic acid. Build up a tolerance. You can use toners, serums, or creams. Kate Somerville - Liquid ExfoliKate Triple Acid Resurfacing Treatment SUNDAY RILEY - Good Genes All in One Lactic Acid Treatment The Ordinary - Lactic Acid 10% + HA FARMACY - Honeymoon Glow Serum 4. Peptides Peptides preserve and boost collagen production. Peptides are short chain amino acids that act as building blocks for proteins such as collagen. It improves the appearance of firmness and wrinkles. Extensive research supports that peptides improve skin function and appearance. The Ordinary - ''Buffet'' OLAY - Wrinkle Correction Serum with Vitamin B3+ Collagen Peptides PAULA'S CHOICE - Peptide Booster 5. Hydration In your 30s your skin tends to get dehydrated. Hydration will plump up skin. Add a hydrating toner, facial spray, hyaluronic acid serum. The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 **BONUS** SPF Never forget you sunscreen ☀️

One of my HG serums!
One of my HG serums!
I’ve been using the Peach & Lily Glass skin refining serum for months now. It’s said to hydrate, brighten, and reduce inflammation from free radical damage. It contains peach extract, peptide complex, hyaluronic acid, and my personal favorite powerhouse ingredient - Niacinamide which helps reduce pores, inflammation and brighten skin. This product has really helped hydrate my skin before moisturizer. It has a clear think gel texture and is fragrance free which I love. It’s really helped with my redness and hyperpigmentation. I give this serum a 5/5 stars and will definitely be repurchasing when this ones gone!

my fave morning skincare duo
my fave morning skincare duo
I started using THE inkey LIST - Alpha Arbutin Brightening Serum and OLE HENRIKSEN - Banana Bright Vitamin C Serum as part of my morning skincare routine a month ago to help fade dark spots, brighten up my skin and minimize the dreaded maskne that started popping up. My skin was also purging from the number of new skincare products I was trying out when quarantine began. Wow let me tell you, this combo not only did those two things but my skin feels smoother and the bumps on my face has gone away (though I think my nighttime skincare routine also played a big role in this). I’ve had a hard time finding a good combination to use on my skin since I’m sensitive to scents and my skin is sensitive, dry combo skin and I’ve finally found the holy grail duo!

Budget Vitamin C Serum
Budget Vitamin C Serum
This Vitamin C serum by Beauty Bay is called SkinHit Brightening Serum. I’m obsessed with Vitamin C and looking for some brands that aren’t constantly being reviewed and are budget friendly. While this company is out of the UK, they still do international shipping — however extra duty may need to be paid depending where they’re shipping to. This product helps boost radiance, even skin tone, and help reduce the appearance of pigmentation. It also contains peptide, which are chains of amino acids that are the building blocks of proteins — collagen, keratin, and elastin. These proteins are responsible for your skin’s texture, etc. It’s a light-weight serum. It almost looks like orange juice haha. It has a thin consistency. It absorbs quickly into your skin and doesn’t make it feel greasy or tacky. It does leave a nice glow, which I am all about. I don’t find it overly moisturizing so if you have dry skin this might not be the best serum for you. It costs $9.75. I haven’t used this long enough to see many results but I do love the glow it gives me immediately upon use. This serum is also vegan and cruelty free. I give this 3/5 stars for now until I see some results. I think with consistent use one might see results, however; for now, I’ll just enjoy the temporary glow/radiance it gives my skin :) BEAUTY BAY - SkinHit Brightening Serum

Lacklustre Skin? Try A Stroke of Brilliance
Lacklustre Skin? Try A Stroke of Brilliance
Versed just launched in Canada at Shoppers Drug Mart and I’m so glad! I kept seeing reviews for their products and was so jealous that I couldn’t get my hands on them. This is one of the two products I’ve purchased by them so far. I love vitamin C serums so I had to try this first. VERSED - STROKE OF BRILLIANCE Brightening Serum About the Serum: + This serum contains vitamin C, licorice root, palmaria palmata extracts (skin-lightening agents that inhibit pigmentation), and niacinamide + This is a light-weight serum, aimed to brighten & even your complexion, as well as firm and hydrate your skin + It’s ideal for those who wish to treat hyperpigmentation and fine lines & wrinkles How to Use: + Use in the AM after cleansing and before moisturizing + Press 2-3 drops into almost dry skin and let absorb for about 2 minutes + It’s suggested to keep this stored in a cool, dark place to keep active ingredients potent My Thoughts: I haven’t been using this long enough to see any results but I’m enjoying it so much. I apply this in the AM after I’ve cleaned my skin and applied, for example, hyaluronic acid, and before I apply my moisturizer and eye cream. I love that it’s not tacky and absorbs nicely into my skin. It does give my skin a fresh appearance immediately after using. I also don’t notice any scents, which is good if you’re sensitive to scents :) This retails for I think $26 CAD (I can’t remember lol) and you get 30 mL. I 100% recommend. My skin type is normal and haven’t noticed any adverse reactions.

Great serum for dullness 🍊
Great serum for dullness 🍊
The VERSED - STROKE OF BRILLIANCE Brightening Serum is a pretty nice vitamin C serum in my opinion. It’s easily accessible since it’s sold at target and the price is also good in my opinion ($19.99 for 1 fl oz), it’s vegan, cruelty-free, fragrance and dye-free so suitable for sensitive skin! I like mixing mine with my moisturizer in the morning to brighten up my complexion. Say goodbye to dull skin ☀️ I’m just finishing up the one I’m currently using and already have a replacement ready to go (gifted). Their packaging is really cute too, and I really do enjoy a good packaging design so I can appreciate that.

The Inkey list
The Inkey list
THE inkey LIST - Vitamin C Serum 30ml I just want to talk about this vitamin c, if you’ve use that of the ordinary before ( L-absorbic acid powder) , then you’d know that they are kind of similar . If you apply this on your face, it feels kinda rough. After applying you have you apply a hydrating essence/or cream to make it better. Or you can mix with Hyaluronic acid. It’s a great vitamin c that works . It brightens the skin and fades hyperpigmentation. THE inkey LIST - Hyaluronic Acid Serum I also love this, a little go a long way . My skin loves it THE inkey LIST - Lactic Acid Serum This Aha is very gentle on the skin. I’m beginning to love all the inkeylist products . I love this serum as well . ❤️❤️❤️
