Heatless waves make for healthy hair!

2021 means extra self care! All month I will be doing masks, skin, and hair treatments to get myself on track. This includes avoiding using any heat on my hair! A great way to avoid heat but also give my straight hair texture is by using silicone hair curlers! My hair is very long so the easier way for me to use is by putting my hair in a ponytail and wrapping the ends of my hair around the curlers. I added OUAI - OUAI Wave Spray
before i curled for extra texture. I left these in my hair for about 20 minutes and was pretty happy with the results. Definitely not a perfect curl and yes I do prefer heat - but for a no damage solution, I’ll take it! I’ll be reaching for these more often this month! What are some self care things you are doing in the new year?

AmyUrquijoDo you have a go to heat protectant for when you do use heat? My goal is 4 months no heat but would like to have a good product in case something comes up!

best & blah hair products @ Sephora 🌟
BEST & BLAH 👉🏻 Sephora Edition 😌🙌🏼 We all know the holy grail products we can find at Sephora. For me, I flock to the shelves for Ouai, a haircare line quite popular in the IG community 💡Before trying out their line, I was always skeptical of the value in their products. Come on, is this really worth it? I was an avid fan of it's a 10 haircare - Leave-In Conditioner Spray Product , my holy grail for my wavy, thick hair (which, is extremely damaged!) I could always count on that single product after washing my hair to smooth my hair and aid in softening my ends. Eventually, I had to try out Ouai haircare. After bleaching my hair to its absolute end, I knew I needed to find quality products when it came to styling my hair. My hair had always been picky with the products it uses, especially when it came to styling products. Sticky, thick and too drying formulas turn me off. So, when needing to find my “best and blah,” I knew I had to put Ouai in the hot seat. 1. OUAI - OUAI Wave Spray This one left my hair tacky, even with a minimal amount of product sprayed on. My waves weren’t much defined as they would be without this product. This one is $12 (small bottle) at Sephora. Worth it? No, not in my opinion. A better alternative is NOT YOUR MOTHER'S - Beach Babe Soft Waves Spray . 2. OUAI - OUAI Volume Spray Hmmm.. perhaps my hair is thick enough to have volume already. Nevertheless, I was not a huge fan of this volume spray. I used it before blowing my hair out and all it did for me was add more product onto my hair, no volume. Worth it? No 😭 I tried my best to like this product but I can’t bring myself to pay $26. 3. OUAI - Dry Shampoo Foam A NEW DRY SHAMPOO FAVORITE! I love this formula (mousse-like) and the smell. It leaves a refreshing and cooling feeling on my scalp. Worth it? YES. I’ll definitely be buying this again, worth the $28! 4. gisou - Honey Infused Hair Oil This is a great hair oil, don’t get me wrong. I enjoyed the packaging, the consistency and the result of my hair after smoothing this into it; HOWEVER, $46 doesn’t sit right with me for a hair oil so is it worth it? Not for me. 5. eva·nyc - Mane Magic 10-in-1 Primer I enjoyed the smell and lightweight spray of the nozzle, offering a lighter application of the product. But, too much and your hair gets STICKY. Beware of the amount you use. If used right, it’s worth your time. Worth it? $12 for a great heat protectant is worth it to me! 6. gisou - Propolis Infused Polishing Primer Ehhhh, I couldn’t find the value in this for me. I heard a lot of people talk about their hair feeling smoother after styling once using this; however, I personally couldn’t notice a difference. I loved the creamy texture but I can’t purchase it again. Worth it? $34 isn’t worth it for me 😭

Drying and styling hair is a big project…
Hair texture: Thin and soft, hard to be styled! 😭 Drying and styling hair is a big project every morning after shampoo, especially for girls with long hair. One easy tactic that I found was to use wave spray before blow drying every inch of my hair, where drying and styling can both get done in a single procedure and saves so much time in a hustling morning. Wave sprays are easy to use. I simply apply the sprays throughout my hair, mainly in the hair roots, after shower, and blow my hair to dry. For my semi-curly hair, just a simple step of spraying can guarantee the wavy style and volumize my thin hair with hairdryer, and the natural and fluffy hairstyle could last for the entire day. I have been using OUAI wave spray in the last 2 years and like it a lot until I have got my new spray a few months ago. OUAI is an American hair product brand specialized in hair styling and nutrition. And my new spray is from Shiseido, a popular middle-high end skin and hair care brand from Japan. They both are in the same price range – for around $20 per bottle. To be fair, they both work very well in creating fluffy appearance of the hair, but after using the new product for months, I realized that there are obvious differences. In comparison, I found Shiseido works better for my hair type and lasts for longer. It is very apparent that the compositions of the sprays are different – OUAI wave spray is a liquid spray while Shiseido spray is made of powder. The powders made Shiseido spray so much easier to spread through the hair and is non-sticky. And because the powder is designed to resist the moist, the hair can stay fluffy and natural even in the evening, while OUAI spray only last for 5-6 hours in the summer until the fluffy hair falls back down. In conclusion, the powder spray is more suitable for the summer and especially for people who works long hours and still need their hair to look nice and fluffy in the evening, while OUAI wave spray is just enough to meet your basic need in styling. DIY HEATLESS CURLS
DIY HEATLESS CURLS
🙊💗 This time I didn’t want to create just a simple hair video tutorial so I thought it would be nice to add a story to it 🙈how was it? Remember I only have one minute for this I tried to do my best 😄 All I used: 🔸bandana but you can use a headband or a piece of fabric( I like a bandana because it is more comfortable for me and I decide how tight I want it to be. 🔸I add a hair elastic in the middle of the scarf, to keep the shape of a headband 🔸I leave it around 6 hours on my hair(while I sleep), but you can definitely see subtle results in two hours. Y’all...you read that right, DRY TEXTURE MOUSSE!! This is a cross between a dry shampoo and a texture spray and I am obsessed. All you do is rub it together into a cream and apply to your roots and blow dry it! Not only does it: ✨refresh your roots ✨add grip to your hair for styling ✨add volume BUT IT ALSO SMELLS SOOOOO GOOD. I honestly don’t think I’ve smelt a better smelling product. It truly is one of the best products I’ve tested out. I workout every morning at 4am and go straight to school to work with kids all day so I don’t have time for a full wash but I do have time for this! Now it’s your time to try it! Hairspray: OBLIPHICA PROFESSIONAL - Seaberry Multi-Task Hair Spray Hair mousse:OBLIPHICA PROFESSIONAL - Seaberry Thickening Mousse Tips: ⭐️I have blown out my hair 3 days before doing this hairstyle( third day hair) ⭐️IMPORTANT to use heat protectant. ⭐️Keep hair direction and bring on the same position to the front.(this is key 🔑) ⭐️keep the flip out curl with the bobby pins as long as you can so it holds better. (1 hour if possible) ⭐️Make sure to hairspray. ⭐️Be gentle when you take the pins off so you don’t mess up the curl.

My go to hair tutorial- beachy waves look
My go to hair tutorial- beachy waves look
My absolute favorite go - to beachy waves look for the perfect night out.. I have think and naturally straight-ish hair it can be a little wavy and straight ( I know strange right ? Haha ) My hair tutorial on how I do my hair when I go out or have a date night with my husband! I love beach waves it’s such a natural and classy look and it’s so fun to do and I love the volume it adds to my hair.. I love using my hair care products before I put heat on my hair I like to use TRESemmé - Keratin Smooth Keratin Infusing Smoothing Serum because it helps with frizzy hair and my hair can get pretty frizzy after drying and my baby hairs love to stick up so it’s great for the perfect slick to pull down my hair ..... it’s not a heat protectant oil it’s more for a sleek shine and helps with frizz and fly ways it’s great for a flawless and sleek finish to your hair, great for styling it has Marula oil and smells amazing ... you can apply it to wet or dry hair of your choice :) but for heat protectant spay I love to use the TRESemmé - Thermal Creations Heat Tamer Leave In Spray helps to protect heat for damaging your hair and I used it while my hair is damp
