Ok guys if you been following me my bumps are starting to dry up and now I have dark spots. My right side is completely healed and the left is my trouble side. After seeing my dermatologist for my follow up appointment she went up on the dose of the retinoid I use at night. If you are wondering my routine this is what I'm using. Also go look at my old pics to see where I started from. Neutrogena - Clear Pore Cleanser/Mask I love this as it dries out my bumps LA ROCHE-POSAY - Toleriane Hydrating Gentle Face Cleanser I use this at night and love how it's super light CeraVe - PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion light way and keeps face moisturizer at night elta md SKINCARE - UV Clear Broad Spectrum SPF 46 I use the tinted version now great for black girls only in the morning and I do two fingers when I apply it The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% I just started using it super light weight. I started as a suggestion to help purging. Haven't told my dermatologist I'm using it but it has made the bumps on the right side calm down so so far so good. I'll update this to five stars after I have enough data to support if it really works.CeraVe - Healing Ointment I use when I experience dryness from the winter. A lot goes a long way .
Adult acne update round 2
I have just finished my 2 month round of antibiotics, and boy was it rough but the look at my skin! Scarring isn’t great, but that can’t be tackled till acne is officially gone. I haven’t gotten any new cystic acne bumps and I’m using the same products NEOSTRATA - Foaming Glycolic Wash Clindamycin wipes elta md SKINCARE - UV Elements Broad-Spectrum SPF 44 And when my skin is extremely dry CeraVe - Healing Ointment I have my next dermatologist appointment in a month and we’re then focusing on scarring, fingers crossed my skin stays clear!
Hey lovelies, I’m so excited to be here, a social media app for skincare - whaaaat a dream come true! 💫 My personal skincare journey began when I started getting eczema on my neck, face, arms, legs in university, which I graduated with a BScience. I knew about the risks of using topical steroids, so I’ve been adamant on finding holistic ways to treat my case of eczema by first understanding the root cause. It’s a complex journey, as I’ve come to understand that there are different causes for eczema, such as stress, nutrition deficiencies, allergies, genetics, etc. So I began looking into skincare to find ways to manage my skin health while figuring out my entire health 🤪 Growing up with sensitive skin, I stayed away from most beauty products to avoid getting adverse reactions from certain synthetic ingredients... until I started looking into the benefits of clean, plant-based ingredients. And I make sure to look out for greenwashing! 🤓 I’ve since found that when I use the right ingredients, my skin actually thanks me. I now also look at skincare as part of self care rituals that our ancestors took on for many generations. In the past couple years, my passion has been focused on working out a skincare formula to soothe eczema-related rashes and infections. In the meanwhile, I’ve started working at a conscious, ethical beauty studio, Portia-Ella that carries ~40 Canadian brands, mostly led by women. I love working with our empowering team, which fuels my growth/self-development. We get a lot of training on ingredients and interact with various skin types, so I’m always happy to help! 🥰 In these photos, from Valentine’s Day, I’m holding some of my favourite skincare products of all-time, which you can find at Portia-Ella (online too.) I’ll be reviewing them in future posts 🤩 What’s your current skincare obsession? 🙌🏽 GRAYDON - The Putty WOODLOT - Nourishing Cleansing Balm GRAYDON - Face Food Mineral Mist Corpa Flora - Antidote HB5 Hydration

Morning Skincare Routine ✨🦋
Good Morning (Afternoon or Evening) Everyone! I like to keep my skincare routine as simple as possible (though sometimes I find that really hard to do—so many amazing products to use 😅) Products Used: Glossier. - Milky Jelly Cleanser I love this cleanser because it’s 1) affordable at only $9 and 2) so gentle and conditioning to my sensitive skin! grace & stella - Hyaluronic Acid Serum I love a serum. I recently got this in a Causebox and am trying it out as my daytime serum. Curél - Intensive Moisture Facial Cream I cant stop using this! It may not be meant to be used day and night but I’m currently using it this way. It’s so hydrating and the texture is so fluffy. 10/10 would recommend.

CeraVe Healing ❤️
CeraVe - Healing Ointment This product is absolutely my rock when my skin is super dry. I have combination/acne prone skin and at times my skin decides to dry up like a desert. It does not feel greasy or slippery or any weird feeling. 💧 This is such a versatile product and these are the ways I use it:💧 👌🏻after moisturizing literally all over my face 👌🏻after using acids or a peel 👌🏻when using retinoid, I apply in different regions on the face BEFORE applying retinoid (nose creases, around mouth, around eyes). 💧 CeraVe is one of those brands that are in par with everything you need. I’d say pricing is on point since it is affordable and their products work! 💯
Night time skincare routine
I use lots of hydration at night because I have dry skin so after cleansing with the CeraVe - Renewing SA Cleanser For Normal Skin and using the DICKINSON'S - Dickinson's Enhanced Witch Hazel Alcohol Free Hydrating Toner I use the hemp eucalyptus oil as the base then the CeraVe - Eye Repair Cream follow up with the moisturizer CeraVe - Moisturizing Cream For Normal To Dry Skin and lastly use the Blistex - Conditioning Lip Serum on my lips. I like this routine it has really helped to hydrate my skin as well as smoothing it out. I still have problem areas however, I am now dealing with some wrinkles and large pores. Hoping to get some new products to solve these problem areas in the future!!

These products have been working wonders for my skin. There are improvements in my skin; such as my complexion, texture, and overall my skin is looking and feeling healthy. Down below are the products that I use on my skin during night time. 1: JUICE BEAUTY - Hydrating Mist this product gives my skin a nice start off. I spray this once I get out of the shower. It’s is very refreshing and the ingredient in this product have really help my skin out. 2: innisfree - Soybean Energy Essence this one right here is amazing! It is great for sensitive skin. I literally slap this onto my face (gently). This preps my skin for the other product. It has no fragrance which is a bonus. I like how this product is not too sticky and it give my skin a dewy look. 3: DRUNK ELEPHANT - B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Serum I’ve previously talked about this product. Briefly; I really love how this product gives my skin just the right amount of moisture. It glides onto my skin so nicely. I enjoy this serum a lot, it just helps with moisture into my skin. I like to penetrate this product with a jade roller. 4. YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Air-Whip Moisture Cream This is a nice moisturizer, making me feel like I’m on cloud. This moisterizer is super light, it is great on skin who have normal to oily skin. If you have dry skin like my mommy it’s not going to really help much. Overall this product is lightweight, absorb into my skin nicely. 5: CANNUKA - Moisturizing Skin Balm Last but not Least is this CBD balm; I have gave this product a review but I will briefly talk about it. I use this on my lips and gives my lips nice and supple. Conclusion: Overall these products are the staple to my skin. Works well and keeps my skin happy and healthy. Make sure you’re consistent with what works best for you. If you want nice skin or whatever; keep working towards it and in the end it is very rewarding. I hope y’all enjoy.

Broke me out. Really bad. Had cysts all over my neck, which I never break out with. Not sure what ingredient it was in the formula but my skin did not agree with it. I had this little mini, but I also had the full size (I returned it to Sephora). I don’t recommend this product to oily or acne prone skin, if you have dry skin the thick texture could be great for you. Patch test first ☹️ Do love the pump design on the full size 👏🏻 Also expensive AF. 1.69oz for $60. No thanks. Quoted via the sephora site: “What it is: A rescue cream infused with six rare African oils and a ceramide complex for intense moisture and replenishing barrier support. Skin Type: Normal, Dry, Combination, and Oily Skincare Concerns: Dryness, Fine Lines, and Wrinkles Formulation: Rich Cream Highlighted Ingredients:- Six Rare African Oil Blend: Nourshes, rejuvenates, and moisturizes. - Ceramides AP, EOP, and NP: Help soothe and maintain the moisture balance of skin while protecting against water loss. - Sodium Hyaluronate Crosspolymer: Has a smaller molecular weight than hyaluronic acid and is able to deeply penetrate skin, delivering excellent hydration and reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.” DRUNK ELEPHANT - Lala Retro Whipped Cream

My Mental Wellness Improved Through My Self AcceptanceWhen I was around 13 or 14 years old, I remember routinely taking one of my older sister’s black eyeliner pencils before school every morning. I’d arrive early so that I could slip away to the girl’s bathroom to apply a single black line to my eyelids. My parents didn’t allow me to wear any makeup at the time. Although this smudgy line on my eyelids didn’t make me look all that much different, I never felt comfortable at school without it. My teenage mind convinced myself that I needed some sort of cosmetic symbol in order to appropriately express my femininity. Up until that point in my life, society had told girls that looked like me - tall, Black, and with kinky hair - that we somehow weren’t as beautiful as the other girls. For far too long, I believed it too.7 HOURS AGO
