DRUNK ELEPHANT - Protini Polypeptide Moisturizer
This is the best moisturizer for combination/oily skin! It is a pricy product but so worth it. ✨✨✨

Ingredients: Polypeptides Product: DRUNK ELEPHANT - Protini Polypeptide Moisturizer   I came across this product while browsing on a local skincare and makeup seller on Instagram. I trust the brand as Drunk Elephant has been raved by a lot of beauty and skincare influencers on social media, and I’ve watched tons of YouTube review videos saying that this brand’s skincare line has changed their skin.   I’ve always wanted to have something in my routine to have peptides and EGF in them. Peptides are small molecules of proteins, and if you’re a skincare addict like me, you’d know that our skin needs protein to maintain its elasticity and firmness. Elastic skin surface means our skin will be able to maintain its youthful glow. It assists our body in producing collagen and is very useful in fighting against aging.   I have a dry combination skin type that goes more on the dry side. Even if I live in a tropical environment, my skin needs proper hydration and care. Moisturizer is something I cannot not have in my routine. I’ve tried a number of variants- some worked, some didn’t. This cream, thankfully, works for my skin. It is lightweight in texture hence it’s ideal for the weather especially in summer. It’s rich in EGF (epidermal growth factor) so it really helps in regenerating new skin cells. I think that’s what is responsible for the smooth texture of my skin after using this for just a couple of times. I exfoliate chemically every day, and this helps me in keeping my skin hydrated.

Is it really a dupe?? Drunk Elephant vs. Inkey🍀
In this round of dupe products, I tested Drunk Elephant’s Protini against The Inkey List Peptide Moisturizer. I have used Protini in the past and just got the newly released Inkey List moisturizer a few months ago. I was excited to see how they would perform up against each other. Let’s dive in! DRUNK ELEPHANT - Protini Polypeptide Moisturizer $68/ 50ml: contains a combination of signal peptides, growth factors, and amino acids. It comes in an airtight jar and a pump to prevent exposure and oxidation. The cream is in an intensely thick formula but surprisingly doesn’t feel too heavy when applied on my oily skin (although I feel oilier later in the day). The formulation has A LOT of peptides. Nine in total. I’m still skeptical when it comes to peptides since there haven’t been enough controlled studies to support the claims. However, I do know it has amazing moisturizing properties therefore, it may really help reduce fine lines and improve the overall health of the skin. THE inkey LIST - Peptide Moisturizer $14.99/ 50ml: this is a mainly a shea butter moisturizer. The peptides are last in the ingredients list. It contains a two-percent royal epigen P5 that claims to nurture skin and help decrease the appearance of fine lines and one-percent hydrating peptide solution to support the moisture barrier. It has fewer ingredients compared to Protini so it has less potential to cause irritations for sensitive or acne-prone skin. Texture and Consistency: I find that the Inkey moisturizer is more lightweight and sinks in quicker than the Protini. However, the Protini has that special luxurious silky feel to it. It feels really soft and cream slides easily onto skin. They are both sufficiently moisturizing for my oily skin. Both make me oilier at the end of the day but I really have no problem when used in the nighttime. I think they’re both great products. Both are fragrance-free and have occlusive properties. They seal in the moisture to keep your skin looking healthy and they’re perfect for use to repair the moisture barrier and replenish your skin with hydration overnight. So which one should you get? depends on your needs and skin type: I would say, go for the PROTINI if: You have dry skin You have wrinkles and fine lines You prefer a really intensive hydration You’re not sensitive to plant extracts Go for the PEPTIDE MOISTURIZER if: You have oily skin You are acne-prone You prefer a lightweight moisturizer You’re sensitive to plant extracts I personally have been enjoying the Inkey List moisturizer better than the Protini. Although I have always loved the Protini, I find that the Inkey moisturizer works better with my skin type. Thank you for reading! xoxo

A no from me!
A no from me!
This is such a hyped product and brand but it doesn’t work for me! I have oily skin and find this moisturizer far too heavy for my skin type. I’m not sure which ingredient did it, but it also made my skin kind of burn on application! Even if I liked the product I still find it far too expensive for a moisturizer when I’ve found many cheaper options that I prefer, even from the drugstore. I prefer gel formulas to heavy creams. Has anyone else experienced this with this product? I hear so many rave reviews but this one just was a fail for my skin type. I prefer protini to this one but still find both to be overpriced.

She’s pricey, but she’s delicious! I don’t love all the hype around the brand, but I do think this is a great moisturizer for oily skin. It sort of melts into the skin and gives it a nice bounce. Sinks in nicely and does not pill. I’m giving this 4 stars only because the price point is rather high, consistent with the brand. DRUNK ELEPHANT - Protini Polypeptide Moisturizer

Empty! Mini Protini Moisturizer
Empty! Mini Protini Moisturizer
Drunk Elepahnt was one of the first brands that got me interested in skincare so it’s no surprise that this was one of my first splurge moisturizers that I used religiously for my skin! Protini has a gel texture like no other & is packed with peptides! Perfect for oily, combo or dry skin, I love this moisturizer! My favourite way to apply this is with other serums, like how DE ‘smoothies’ their products for AM and PM, however it also applies beautifully by itself!

Lightweight Moisturizer
DRUNK ELEPHANT - Protini Polypeptide Moisturizer Protini is a super lightweight moisturizer great for oily and sensitive skin. It doesn’t have a fragrance which is exactly what anyone with sensitive skin looks for in a moisturizer. This moisturizer is like a shot of protein for your skin, great for strengthening and moisturizing! The texture is extremely lightweight and almost feels like it’s a water base, it skins into the skin nicely. I have been using this moisturizer for about 2 years now and it’s one of my favorites! I love this so much, even if I start to use another I will always make my way back to this one. It leaves my skin so soft and supple, the perfect summer moisturizer as it doesn’t weigh the skin down. $68 for 50ml is a great deal for this beautiful product and it will last such a long time! I highly recommend!! 5 out of 5 ⭐️ DRUNK ELEPHANT - Protini Polypeptide Moisturizer

Repurchasing this moisturizer in 2020!
Repurchasing this moisturizer in 2020!
DRUNK ELEPHANT - Protini Polypeptide Moisturizer This is the DE protini moisturizer. It claims to strengthen your skin and essentially be like a protein shake for your skin! The target concerns are oily skin and skin just wanted a little boost. It has a gel like texture but is still really nice and creamy at the same time. I got this as a bday gift from Sephora and have used it over the course of a couple months. I love it because it just feels so so good on your skin. I wish it was a little more hydrating but I guess it’s kinda nice that it’s lightweight for the daytime. I would recommend it if your willing to spend the money because for me that was the biggest con and why it’s only 4 stars. Butt because of my Cherie gift cards I have enough money to splurge on this stuff and make my skin feel really really nice yay! Try this out and you’ll probably love it too!

The product: a lightweight moisturizer for combo to oily skin. Helps improve moisture levels without the heavy cream feeling. My impressions: I love the light texture of it during the summer time but not a good moisturizer for me during winter time. It doesn’t give me enough hydration that I need. This is more for combo to oily skin so that’s probably why. It would probably do great more with that skin type especially during summer and winter months when they don’t need as much hydration as dry type. How it worked for my dry skin: during the winter time it’s not that good for my skin because I need a heavy cream. It’s to light weight for winter but really enjoy during summer. Length of use: 1 month... mostly in summer and a couple days in winter Cost: $38 Recommend: yes if you have combo to oily skin but don’t purchase if you have dry skin at the moment during winter. Repurchase: no just because I have different moisturizer that work better Overall rating: gave it a 4 out of 5 because it’s a great moisturizer and know lots of people with oily/combo skin who love it! But lost a point because i like moisturizer that can work all seasons for me boscia - Cactus Water Moisturizer
