Are we into the Dolphin Skin Trend?
Dewy skin is here to stay and one Instagram makeup trend that’s really highlighting it is the Dolphin Skin Trend. Inspired by the slippery skin of a dolphin, the trend involves layering hydrating makeup products to mimic that wet fresh-from-the-sea glimmer with lots of highlight while also achieving a natural-looking glam. To start, it’s recommended to prep the skin with a thick moisturizer and/or oil followed by a hydrating, glow-inducing primer. From there, it’s best to use lightweight complexion products with a luminous finish in order to keep the glow strong while also allowing your natural texture to shine through. Then, it’s time for the highlight. Makeup artists recommend opting for crème formulas like balms for a radiant and sleek look. For me, I’ll prep the areas I want to have an extra shine with Glossier’s FutureDew, which is a thick oil-serum hybrid that is designed to make the skin really hydrated and glowy – it can make you breakout if you’re prone to breakouts or wear too much. Then, I’ll add drops of KORA Organics’ Noni Glow Face Oil to my Kosas Tinted Face Oil for an added glow. The oil is a little thick so you don’t really need that much to get the perfect dew. Kosas doesn’t have the best shade range so it’s not the best brand for everyone, but I think it’s Tinted Face Oil is really hydrating and dewy. My new favorite thing is to apply my foundation with a big fluffy concealer brush to help get a seamless finish. If I need more coverage, I’ll go in with a little sweep of Glossier’s Stretch Concealer because of its dewy finish on the skin. It’s really lightweight and can kind of make you look greasy if you have oily skin. Experimenting with different highlight textures can easily amplify the look – I like to start with a balm like Tower 28’s SuperDew Highlight Balm, which is super lightweight and leaves a gorgeous glow, and then follow up either Tarte’s Skin Gloss Glass, which is like liquid gold but sometimes it makes me breakout – my skin is acne-prone and doesn’t really react well to heavy makeup products. I like the overall vibe of the trend but wouldn’t always wear two highlights but I’m into the finished product! Products used: For prep & complexion: Glossier. - Futuredew Oil Serum Hybrid

2021 Fashion Week Inspired Makeup - Chloé
This is the second spring/summer 2021 fashion week inspired look I did. Make sure to check out my other Cherie post for my Hermès look. This look inspired by Chloé focuses on smoldering, smudged out black-rimmed eyes, dewy skin, and juicy nude lips. The eye look was particularly interesting to me because of the blank spaces in the center of the model’s lower and upper lids. The base of this look is the same as my Hermès look. I’ve included the inspo photo that I found on Allure. Complexion: Glossier. - Futuredew Oil Serum Hybrid - this oil-serum hybrid is perfect for adding a glowy base on bare skin, under makeup, or over makeup on the high points of your face for a natural, yet wet-looking highlight. I used 1 pump all over my face under my skin tint, and a tiny bit dabbed on the tops of my cheek bones after my skin tint. $24 ILIA - Super Serum Skin Tint SPF 40 “balos” - light coverage to even out my skin tone and also amp up the dew. $46 e.l.f. - Hydrating Camo Concealer “light peach” - I used 2 tiny dots under my eyes to add some coverage. $6 AOA studio - Sculpt FX Contour “fawn” - the model does not appear to be wearing any cheek products; however, has beautiful, defined cheekbones. I don’t have defined cheekbones, so I used this to give a slight contoured effect. $1 Now the fun part! I used URBAN DECAY - 24/7 Glide-on Eye Pencil “perversion” to lightly outline the inner and outer portions of my top and bottom lash lines. I smudged this out with a pencil brush. Then I used the shade “black” from my LORAC - PRO Matte Eye Shadow Palette to intensify the smokiness. I made sure to keep the space directly in the middle of my eyes blank on both upper and lower lash lines. I then drew a thick wing on the outer corner of each eye, topped with black shadow, and smudged inwards. I couldn’t tell if the model was wearing mascara, but I added 1 quick coat of URBAN DECAY - Lash Freak Volumizing & Lengthening Mascara to add an extra pop to my eyes. For lips, I lightly blotted COLOURPOP - Ultra Matte Lip “little one” (limited edition, no longer available) to add a hint of nude to my lips. Then I topped with the ICONIC - Lip Plumping Gloss in “nearly nude” . This gloss is super glossy and wet looking - perfect for ultra juicy-looking lips! This look was so fun to create. Unlike the Hermès look, this isn’t something I would personally wear day-to-day, but for Halloween or the runway it’s perfect! It’s so hard not to smile in photos 🤪 #CheriePartner
2021 Fashion Week Inspired Makeup - Hermès
This look is inspired by models for Hermes for 2021 spring/summer fashion week. This look focuses on super dewy skin and a bold, red lip as the center of attention. This look was really easy to recreate and something I would actually rock IRL (except for the lack of mascara because mascara is bae). I’ve included the inspo photo from Allure. To add a glowy base to my complexion, I used Glossier. - Futuredew Oil Serum Hybrid . I only ever use 1 pump of this oil-serum hybrid because I think any more makes me look like a grease ball. I applied this all over my face and dabbed a tiny amount onto my eyelids. This product is perfect for applying on bare skin, under makeup, and can even be used over makeup for a natural, wet-looking highlight. After I applied my complexion products, I dabbed a tiny amount onto the high points of my cheekbones. Sticking with the dewy theme, I used the ILIA - Super Serum Skin Tint SPF 40 in “balos”. I’m not sure if the models were wearing complexion products because their skin looked super natural, yet also “flawless”. Since I have some redness on my cheeks, I used this skin tint to even out my skin tone and amp up the dew. I lightly concealed underneath my eyes with the e.l.f. - Hydrating Camo Concealer in “light peach”. The models don’t appear to be wearing any cheek products, though I did add a tiny bit of AOA studio - Sculpt FX Contour in “fawn” to help sculpt my cheeks a tiny bit like the models. I finished the look off with the SEPHORA COLLECTION - Cream Lip Stain Liquid Lipstick in “always red”. I’ve had a mini of this for quite a while. It’s beautiful, comfortable despite being matte, does leave a tint behind, and is long-wearing. This is the kind of lipstick that would last from the runway well into the after party (in non-COVID times, of course). The models don’t appear to be wearing any mascara, so I skipped that. I filled in my brows a bit more than usual for a fuller appearance. I used the essence - Superlast Eyebrow Pomade Pencil in “dark brown”. Such a fun look! You guys it’s sooo hard not to smile. How do models do it?! 🤪 Look for another fashion week look soon. All brands are cruelty-free except for Sephora Collection. Prices: futuredew $24, skin tint $46, concealer $6, contour stick $1, lip stain (full size) $15, brow pencil $3.50 #Cherie Partner
This brand is for sure one of my favorites. All products are energized with rose quartz to pass on the vibrations of love with every application 💗💗. While that might not be for everyone, just the fact that they put that much care into making sure each person gets the best product they can provide, little details like that make me more inclined to spend my money. Not only that, all products are formulated without any sulfates, parabens, synthetic fragrance, synthetic colors, T.E.A., D.E.A., glycols, silicones, PEGs. ethoxylate and formaldehyde free performance | full star | even skin tone & texture, great for all skin types with being thin and easy to absorb yet super hydrating texture | full star | lightweight, non-greasy, sink right in to the skin scent | full star | heavenly! Fresh, floral, yet subtle packaging | full star | super cute rose gold accents on screw tops, love how the the bottles are sandblasted so the oils don’t create a slippery aftermath, recyclable glass bottles and boxes, minimal verbiage and clutter on bottles and boxes ingredients | full star | 99% naturally derived organic ingredients in eye and face oil, 67% organic ingredients in body oil with second ingredient & only not organic, no irritation from essential oils value | full star | because they actually work, I’m giving it a full star. Comparable prices to similar products/brands, but more care with ingredients, transparency and quality. $68 face, $58 body, $38 eye I love applying the body oil on damp skin in the shower, feel like it absorbs all the way while I do my skincare routine, then I don’t get any residual on clothing. I also only use the eye oil at night, it’s not ideal for makeup application.
Loooooove oils! YTTP Goji oil is always my favorite during spring - perfect pair with their hydrate + glow dream mask! You can immediately see the glow with those two paired Indie Lee - where have you been all my life?! It has helped me so much to keep my face hydrated and helped minimize my pores! Kora Noni Glow - also perfect for the glow! Hydrated, nourished, helps stubborn blemishes, smooths, so much more! I alternate between this one and YTTP Kielhs - wow! I can truthfully say I saw an instant change on my face overnight! The first time I used this product, my face was very dull, dehydrated, fatigued, and stressed. Makeup Spotlight: Tarte Skin Gloss Glass
Dewy skin has become my go-to and one product that delivers the perfect natural-looking shine is Tarte’s Skin Gloss Glass Highlighter. This skin gloss is like liquid gold and gives the skin a glassy-glossy look. Its gel formula melts into the skin and instantly illuminates the area you’ve applied it to. It’s super affordable ($16) compared to other strobing highlighters and to make it even better, it’s a multi-purpose product and doesn’t require a brush – all you have to do is dab it where you want it and you’re good to go. I love using it on my high points as a highlighter, but it also makes a great gloss for the eyes if you’re looking to add some shine to the lids. One thing I will say is that it’s easy to go overboard with it – a little goes a long way and if you use a lot at once, your skin can look wet instead of dewy.

Current Go-To Products 👀
here a few of my favorite things 🥰 Rare Beauty - Lip Soufflé Matte Lip Cream there is something so *rare* about this lipstick hehe it’s not drying, doesn’t crack, and doesn’t smear. It’s seriously pretty near perfect. I have the shade Fearless and it’s now my go-to lipstick! (for photos, meetings, and occasional outdoor events lol) Rare Beauty - Brow Harmony Pencil and Gel so pigmented and perfect! I think this product was made for my brows...one ends adds more color and the other adds volume. I’ve grown out my brows over the summer so it’s strange to see my brows this thick. Do y’all think I should keep them? 👀 Glossier. - Perfecting Skin Tint + Stretch Concealer Duo my face is so damn dry I can’t really wear foundation anymore but this combination is bomb 💣 not drying, not peeling, and lasts! This concealer is seriously the best I’ve ever used. I wish I’d found this combo sooner honestly! And it covers my DARK circles! Yay! 🕺🏼 ILIA - Limitless Lash Mascara a good mascara for an “everyday look” but it takes a lot to get more volume. Not gonna lie, my eyelashes are pretty dang long (genetics🤷🏻♀️?) but I gotta work for the length. But it is a nice clean brand with great packaging! And I forgot to use highlight but my go-to has been TOWER 28 - SuperDew Highlighter Balm and I love it! A good clean brand that is perfect for a no-makeup-makeup-look! hehe I gave it 4/5 because it has a tendency to melt ☹️ Have y’all tried any of these products! Lemme know in the comments, I’d love to hear what you think 💭 ☺️
Save Our Skin!
As you can tell, I’m a big fan of Tower 28! 🤪 I heard the founder, Amy Liu, speak on the Glowing Up with Esther and Caroline podcast and she seemed so so sweet and I loved hearing her story on how Tower 28 came to be! When my little SOS spray was running low, I decided to get the big bottle because I REALLY felt like it was saving my skin. For some reason, I’ve been having these dry patches near my eyes (under my dark circles lol) and this has been one of the few things that’s helped! Ironically, I tried to tell my dermatologist about this SOS spray and he just replied “well, if you like it, use it. But you don’t know need to add a bunch of products on your face. So use what’s been working.” I was trying to explain how Tower 28 is a company that helps with eczema-prone skin and he was intrigued but skeptical. However, I love it and feel like it’s truly helped my redness and dry patches. So I’m sticking to it! As for the blush and highlighter, I love love love these products. The highlight may not be perfect (it came in and was slightly melted but fine now!) but I still love using them for my makeup routine when I actually do my makeup hehe I’ve tried almost every one of their products and I will continue to purchase! $28 for SOS Daily Rescue Facial Spray $20 for BeachPlease Luminous Tinted Balm $18 for SuperDew Highlighter Balm Tower 28: 5/5

A full face in just 10 minutes!
Happy Friday, cherie fam! I don’t know about you, but my friday makeup tends to be especially quick and easy. Anyone who has a zoom call with me on fridays can deal with it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯) I wanted to share the makeup I put on this morning in just under ten minutes! The finished look is casual, put together, and glowy, and my real skin is still visible under the light makeup. Basic info about my skin: I’m oily and acne prone, and my main concerns right now are dark circles and hyperpigmentation from acne. I also have sparse brows and I like to fill them in—if I do nothing else, I’ll do my brows because I feel naked without them 😂 Here’s a step by step, including all the products I used: First, I apply a few drops of the Kosas - Tinted Face Oil Foundation all over my face, blending it into my hairline and neckline. I’ve reviewed this before, so I won’t go into detail here, but I love it! I just spread it and pat it in with my fingers—no beauty blender/brush needed. Next, I use the Kosas - Revealer Super Creamy + Brightening Concealer under my eyes and on any blemishes. Scroll back a few posts for my thoughts on this concealer and why it’s worth repurchasing! Third, I apply the cream blush from the Kosas - Color & Light: Cream Blush & Highlighter Duo on the apples of my cheeks. I usually use a brush, but I can use my fingers in a pinch. I have the color Helios and it’s such a beautiful deep orange shade. The formula itself is very creamy and nourishing—it really feels like skincare AND makeup. I set everything with a light dusting of the Milk MAKEUP - Blur + Set Matte Loose Setting Powder . I love this powder, and it’s lasting me FOREVER even with daily use, but I desperately want them to improve the packaging 😩 The mesh makes it difficult to get the product out at times. I do my brows with a few quick swipes of the Milk MAKEUP - KUSH Fiber Brow Gel , my holy grail brow gel. This is the only product on my brows and LOOK how it fills them in! I do a quick coat of the bareMinerals - Lashtopia Mega Volume Mineral-Based Mascara to add length and volume to my lashes. This mascara last alllll day without flaking at all on me. Last, I swipe on some nooni - Appleberry Lip Oil , and I’m done! I LOVE this tinted oil—it feels very hydrating without being sticky, and it’s an incredible bargain compared to other tinted lip oils out there (I got it for $12 on amazon). It has a pink tint and a subtle berry flavor. And that’s it! All of these products are so simple to use, making them perfect for a quick and easy makeup look. #CheriePartner
Skin tint or skin serum?
Product claims: wash of color that is perfecting skin tint. A breathable ultra thin formula to even out skin’s appearance for a smooth, dewy finish. Formulated with Diamond powder for brightening effect and glycerin to moisturize the skin. Product targets concerns: Smoothing, Refining, enhancing and Breathable. My experience: I liked the product when I used it for the first time but when I used it for 3 days in a row, it started breaking me out and I think it’s because of the glycerin as one of their ingredients. If you’re looking for any coverage then this product is not for you. It goes on like a serum and provides a healthy glow to your complexion but i wouldn’t say it evens out the skin tone. Due to its ultra thin formula, you have to use a lot of product in order to see any coverage which in my opinion is very pricey since it won’t last that long. Do I recommend this to others: No because 1) it’s expensive for what it does, there are a lot of lightweight tinted moisturizers which are cheaper and do a better job at evening out the skin tone. 2) it broke me out so not sure if acne prone skin or oily skin will benefit from it. Price: $28 for 1 oz.
Glossier.-Perfecting Skin Tint
Dewy Face Base: Shine Bright Like A Diamond
#CheriePartner “Dewy” is the first word I think of when I think of Glossier, and for good reason- they’re known for models that glow like glazed doughnuts in the most healthy, minimal effort way. Let’s achieve that look, but with less photoshop and more “I do a twenty step skincare routine every morning and night” vibes. • Step 1. Skincare Routine: A hydrating skincare routine is essential for a dewy look and finishing it off strong is important- I like the Glossier. - Priming Moisturizer because it’s not too heavy yet moisturizes my skin to baby-soft smoothness to create a (flawed but lovely) canvas for the coming makeup products. • Step 2. Dew: Amp up your glow with Glossier. - Futuredew Oil Serum Hybrid , which bridges the gaps between an oil, a serum, and a highlighter. It’s a thick serum that is easy to overdo, so tap a thin layer onto high points and dry areas for a shot of moisture and shine... Or slather it on like an oil for glazed doughnut vibes. • Step 3. Foundation: After letting your oil-serum-highlighter soak in, apply a lightweight foundation. Glossier. - Perfecting Skin Tint manages to ride the line between satiny and dewy, leaning hard to the dewy side when used over an oil or heavy moisturizer. It doesn’t pill, even when applied over the gooey dewy goodness that is FutureDew, and isn’t photoshop but does offer some small tone correction. • (Optional) Step 4. More Dew: Dry-skinned? Didn’t apply enough FutureDew in Step 2? Want to shine like you’re wearing lip gloss as highlighter? Add more FutureDew, focusing on the tops of cheekbones, the bridge of the nose, and whatever other features you’d like to bring some wet shine to. Use a light hand and layer as needed. Done! Take some photos in evening light for selfie fodder, then enjoy your maximum dew.

Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer
I don’t use this as a moisturizer, I use this as a light coverage foundation. I definitely fell for the hype with this product. I was totally not in the market for a tinted moisturizer. Using this alone as a moisturizer did not make my skin feel moisturized at all during the winter, perhaps when I try this in the summer it would work. I have post inflammatory hyperpigmentation for my previous acne. This tinted moisturizer does make the scars appear a bit faded. I’d recommend this product if you’re looking for something lightweight and to even out your complexion. I did wear this during a workout and my sweat made streaks...I was able to dab it away but you could still see the pathway the sweat made. So if using this in the summer time I’d definitely set it! Today on this segment of testing out TikTok beauty hacks I present to you: The foundation application method that has everyone amazed. I personally don’t know who wears their makeup for a full day but you do you, bb. Now on to my thoughts, I noticed my makeup went on a bit more matte than I usually prefer but it still looked pretty good to me and not caked on at all. It wasn’t hard at all to do because I’m already following all these steps when doing my usual face base routine, you just alter the order of application et voilà, a beautiful canvas ready for the rest of your makeup products. I never wear my makeup longer than a few hours tbh so I can’t attest to the longevity of it but I’m guessing it would stay put throughout the day without issue. Have you tried this foundation hack? Which Glossier Highlighter Should You Use?
Glossier is renowned for its model’s Insta-famous dewy, glowing look. But when it comes to real life, it’s easy for an attempt at glow/dew to slide into an oily mess, a glitter fiasco, or just fall flat overall. So which Glossier product is best for you? Glossier. - Haloscope Dew Effect Highlighter - Minimalists will love this highlighter! It offers a smooth shine, layering beautifully and without glitter flakes or product caking. I personally enjoy swiping lightly over my cheekbones and the bridge of my nose with Quartz for a natural look. Glossier. - Futuredew Oil Serum Hybrid - If you prefer a glossy look, this high-moisture serum is a sticky but effective way to make you look like you do a Korean 7-Skin routine morning and night. Layer it all over, focusing extra on cheekbones and the nose for a glazed doughnut look, or apply only to high points for a natural dew. Oily skin apply sparingly! Glossier. - Niteshine Highlighter Concentrate - Glamour in a bottle. This highlighter is intensely pigmented and, boy oh boy, there is some serious shine! This is a blinding highlighter, best applied sparingly and built up to your preferred level of disco ball- though be sure not to let it dry between layers or it can flake. I’ve yet to find a way to make this a natural-looking highlight, so I definitely recommend this primarily for those that like high-glam looks!

Kosas Tinted Face Oil First Impressions
Ok so this is my third time using this tinted face oil and I’m going to use it everyday this week and get back to you all with my final thoughts on Friday, but so far so good! I have combination skin and live in a humid climate, so I definitely need to set this to avoid it settling into my fine forehead lines and bunching around my dry spots but when I do set it it looks flawless for 6-7 hours which for me is perfect because I pretty much only wear makeup when I need to nowawadays and take it off as soon as I can. Today I used it with the REN clean skin primer and set it with the BECCA hydro mist powder, but I also love it with my Laura Mercier translucent powder. It leaves my skin looking naturally enhanced and doesn’t feel oily like I would expect. I’ve never tried a product like this before and I was skeptical with how the blend of oils would work with my combination skin but so far, so good! It retails for $42 and comes in 16 shades. I toggle between shades 2 and 3 for reference! As I said, a more in depth review will be up Friday once I’ve thoroughly tested this product through all of the weather changes this week and various activities I’ll be doing, so stay tuned!
