5 Ways To Make Your Fall Skincare Routine Better

5 Ways To Make Your Fall Skincare Routine Better

DamnThatsGlam
A new season always brings new changes to my acne-prone skin. In the summer, I’m usually sporting a lot of oil and shine with little dabs of sunspots and redness. So, to target these concerns, I follow a routine that is fortified with lightweight, oil-free products that are loaded with antioxidants and soothing ingredients to help neutralize free radical damage and help with redness. Whereas in the fall, my skin starts to show signs of dryness around my nose, chin, and lips. My Summer Routine KORA - Noni Bright Vitamin C Serum
THE ORGANIC PHARMACY - Antioxidant Face Gel
THE ORGANIC PHARMACY - Antioxidant Face Firming Serum 35ml
YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Air-Whip Moisture Cream
TULA SKINCARE - Daily Sunscreen Gel Broad Spectrum SPF 30
This summer, my go-to vitamin C serum was from KORA Organics, which I loved because the formula has the perfect amount of slip to it and absorbed so nicely into my skin. It also helped brighten my skin and give it a glow. For extra antioxidant protection, I followed up with The Organic Pharmacy’s Antioxidant Face Gel, which has the texture of a basic serum and is packed with good-for-you ingredients to keep skin healthy and glowing. Then, I would seal in all that goodness with a lightweight gel moisturizer like Youth To The People’s Superfood Air-Whip Moisturizer, which has a lovely cooling effect on the skin and helps hydrate it without clogging the pores. At night, I would swap this moisturizer for The Organic Pharmacy’s Antioxidant Face Serum, which has the same texture as a face oil and I’d use to lock in moisture and deliver some extra antioxidants to the skin after a long day in the sun. For lip balm, my go-to was Vaseline’s Aloe balm, which is very soothing and refreshing. For sunscreen, TULA’s SPF 30 Sunscreen became my all-time favorite; it leaves the skin looking super glowy without peeling or leaving any white casts behind. My Fall Routine GOOD MOLECULES - Hyaluronic Acid Serum
high - High Five Cannabis Seed Facial Moisturizer
BIOSSANCE - Squalane+ Rose Vegan Lip Balm
YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superberry Hydrate + Glow Dream Mask
PACIfICA - Vegan Collagen Hydrating Milk Tonic
Now that fall is upon us, I’ve begun incorporating more hydrating products into my routine. After my vitamin C serum, I’ve re-introduced Good Molecules’ Hyaluronic Acid Serum, which is super lightweight, not sticky at all, and leaves the skin dewy and hydrated. Instead of my lightweight moisturizer, I like to use a thicker cream like High Beauty’s High Five Moisturizer, which is very hydrating and keeps skin balanced—something that I desperately need as my skin starts to become drier and show more signs of redness. If my skin isn’t that dry, I’ll just use a face oil like my Organic Pharmacy Serum. In the winter, however, I’ll usually use both for added hydration and nourishment. Another way I’ve been adding some extra hydration into my routine is with products like Pacifica Beauty’s Milk Tonic, which is a hydrating toner-essence-hybrid that I love to use in my nighttime routine. I’ve found that it also makes for an excellent skin prep before makeup. For lips, I’ve already said goodbye to my Vaseline balm and replaced it with a thicker formula. My favorite heavy-duty balm is Biossance’s Rose Balm, which has the same consistency as a lip mask and really locks in moisture. On days where I need more hydration, I’ll also use Youth To The People’s Superberry Hydrate + Glow Overnight Mask, which is formulated with maqui, vitamin C, squalene, and hyaluronic acid to promote radiance and moisture in the skin.

Some not so good, some good and some just GREAT. Have you tried any of these? Did you love them or did you hate them? Glowy skin!!!!
I decided to try this toner out and it is absolutely amazing. The purpose of this toner is to soothe and hydrate Some ingredients that stood out to me is the propolis extract, honey and hyaluronic acid. We all love hyaluronic acid. It’s alcohol free and safe for sensitive skin. My thoughts!!! I’ve been using this for a couple of weeks and I used it in my am routine. It preps my skin for my serums. My skin definitely feels hydrated once I apply it. I got this Sephora’s for $22 but a little goes a long way. It looks like milk and very light weight. FIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair Wild Oat Hydrating Toner TULA SKINCARE - Daily Sunscreen Gel Broad Spectrum SPF 30 this sunscreen definitely gives me that dewy glow after applying. It doesn’t leave no white cast, it absorb right onto my skin. I actually tried this out because of @d.Bennett and I’m actually I did. It has Uav+.uvb protection it spf 30. It has gel like consistency. Ingredients: probiotics which hydrates n prevent water loss Pineapple +papaya which helps even skin tone. Wild butterfly ginger root which protects from blue light. I think this is a pretty good sunscreen I’ve been using it for a while. Got it from ulta for $36 definitely will be repurchasing.

These are a few of my favorite things 🥰🥰
Hopiping on the new beauty buys trend!! These are some products I have gotten within the past month that are amazing!!!! First up is Nature Lab. - Volume Shampoo & Conditioner Duo I have never been so excited about shampoo and conditioner before!! These beauties are made with 🍎 stem cells and rice protein and it smells better than any shampoo and conditioner I have EVER bought!! I badly need volume because I’m losing so much hair doe to health reasons and both of these give me that even when I use a flatiron! They have a line for every hair type and they are clean and vegan 🌱! All around an amazing brand!! $28 for the duo!! high - High Five Cannabis Seed Facial Moisturizer This moisturizer has a really high level of Cannabis sativa seed oil, certified organic plant oils, high-potency antioxidants and pure plant essential oils. It has a wonderful earthy plant like smell but very faint. I honestly worried about this moisturizer being a bit too heavy for my face on normal days but it really isn’t it’s just a really good nice hydrating feeling. It toned down my redness as well which I love! I think this would be great for all skin types! SAINT JANE - Luxury CBD Beauty Serum This is a seriously expensive serum let’s get that out of the way! It’s $125 for an oz. of serum 🥺🥺 So this will not be a repurchase but it’s really really great! It’s got 500 mg. CBD. Along with grape seed oil and sunflower oil amount a few other things. This is a dry skin HOLY GRAIL without a doubt! I used this on a dry patch I had one evening after probably overdoing it with the skin care products. The next morning there wasn’t a hint of flakiness or that dry spot whatsoever on my face. I’m not sure if I could call it healing but that’s what it seems like to me. This little baby will be held until I have winter emergencies!! Bumble and bumble. - Bb.Thickening Spray I know that this product has been around quite a while but this is my first try using it. Like I said above I’m having a lot of issues losing my hair and it’s almost depressing sometimes. This I have been using if I’m gonna leave the house it gives me that extra oomph that my hair needs and it stays that way! It doesn’t have much of a scent which is totally fine but it’s probably the best thickening spray that I’ve used and I’ve definitely used a lot of them. If you have flat or thinning hair I highly recommend trying this! And finally my newest fall lippie purchase, stila - Stay All Day Sheer Liquid Lipstick in the shade portofino. It’s a perfect fall mauve color and I am in loooove! I love Stila’s liquid lip formula. It’s thin and doesn’t dry my lips out! I normally apply this and then a thin layer of Dr. lips balm and it lasts a really long time! This is one of those colors that goes with almost anything so it’s a great purchase!

High in the clouds ☁️
I had the opportunity to try the High priority foam cleanser and their high five hydrating facial moisturizer. I was so surprised by both. I had the experience of using a Cannabis product from another brand months ago and it didn’t work for me at all! These two didn’t break me out at all! The foam cleanser gives a gentle cleanse while the moisturizer give an amazing glow to the skin! It’s super light and feels like a fluffy cloud. It doesn’t leave your skin overly stripped and is very light on the scent. The moisturizer is very light as well and feel like a gel almost. It’s a beautiful combo for sensitive skin babes. I love their marketing as well! Such a creative brand! I am definitely loving the two and see myself purchasing them in the future! Another thing is their prices are very fair for what you get! I recommend these two! 💚

It’s Alright, Nothing Special
I bought this because it’s a super cheap hydrating serum, but... I went through this really quickly because I had to use so much of it. I had to use a whole dropper morning and night instead of the “couple of drops” that’s recommended. If you live in a dry climate I wouldn’t really recommend this because if there is no water in the air to pull from it will pull water from your skin. I especially wouldn’t recommend in the dry, cold winter. If you live in a humid area or some place with a higher temperature this would help add a little extra, light hydration. I’ve already repurchased my favorite hydrating serum, the Krave - Great Barrier Relief

Worth the hype? Best hyaluronic serum?
VICHY - Minéral 89 Face Serum It seems that everyone has been raving about this product and rightfully so. It is light weight and can easily incorporate into your day/ night skincare routine. This serum’s base is mineral rich volcanic water—89% to be exact, and contains “15 skin-loving minerals including iron, potassium, calcium, and manganese that work to moisturize skin, re-balance its pH, and protect against pollutants.” — Vichy Another bragging point, is that this product contains only 11 ingredients — clean, allergy tested, dermatologist tested , and Vegan. We all know what an amazing ingredient hyaluronic acid is for our skin—plumps and retain moisture. And this product does just that. It’s so simple and I would definitely recommend this for friends that have very sensitive skin. The only set back about this brand (in general) is that I’m not 100% sure of their cruelty free status. According to their site they do not test on animals but it seems that they currently sell/ market their products in China — which requires animal testing. Maybe this is old news? And if not, hopefully one day that’ll change. So I use it and love it with hesitation and I’m not sure if I would repurchase after I finish the bottle. Maybe I’ll change my mind- who knows. If that (cruelty-free status) is not a factor when you buy/ use cosmetics than go for it! It is $30 and it’s super accessible- available on Ulta*, CVS, Walgreens, Vichy.com, Skinstore.com. If you find yourself on a budget, get it at CVS. There’s always a sale and of course coupons. ** Ulta has them in 3 sizes. Here are some hyaluronic acid serums that are confirmed 🐰cruelty-free: THE inkey LIST - Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating Serum GOOD MOLECULES - Hyaluronic Acid Serum The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 Please share your favorites below. Thank you. Be Kind, Stay Beautiful

Clearly I am a sucker for clean skincare. I’ve tried many many products but these, work for me. Once a week I use the innisfree - Super Volcanic Clusters Pore Clearing Clay Mask on the parts of my face that’s covered by a Face mask and the upper portion I use TATCHA - Violet-C Radiance Mask and leave it on for 15 min then rinse off. Sunscreen is a absolute must! Even if I’m staying home I make it a habit to use sunscreen so that I know to never forget it.

Skin care journey
First post on this app! But I wanted to share my skincare journey. I never really had crazy issues with my skin but working at Sephora I always get new products to try and noticed more and more blemishes. First 2 pics are in July of 2019, last 2 pics were from a month ago. My skin used to always be combo dehydrated so I started using some rich moisture products, I’ll list them below. But after a few months I noticed my skin started breaking out more. I started talking to my skincare specialist and found out that I used too many oils/ rich creams and NOT enough water. So there is such a thing as rich in moisture and not enough hydration. Basically you always want to implement water into your skin, if it’s not drinking a ton of water (which I was) its using products that are more water based. Cleanser :GLAMGLOW - Supercleanse Clearing Cream-to-Foam Cleanser to innisfree - Green Tea Hydrating Cleansing Foam Moisturizer: TATCHA - The Dewy Skin Cream to innisfree - Intensive Hydrating Cream with Green Tea Seed am use. Kate Somerville - DeliKate Recovery Cream PM use. Toner: I didn’t use toners before but now I do. During the day I use innisfree - Green Tea Seed Intensive Hydrating Toner and for nighttime use OLE HENRIKSEN - Glow2OH Dark Spot Toner Serum: JOSIE MARAN - Argan Beta Retinol Pink Algae Serum to innisfree - Innisfree Green Tea Seed Serum paired with KORA - Noni Bright Vitamin C Serum for AM use. KORA - Noni Night AHA Resurfacing Serum for PM use. These products did a shift on my skin, I continue to do my exfoliations using my Clarisonic but haven’t found the right exfoliator as I still have a bit of sensitive skin. I still use a some rich creams but only for nighttime use. But after a huge change I noticed my skin is getting a tad bit better but it’s still a long journey ahead of me. *ps I know there’s a difference in lighting but my skin does look better now as it did a few months ago.

Ranking My Lip Balms
Starting with my least favorite: The BIOSSANCE - Squalane+ Rose Vegan Lip Balm is a rose scented vegan lip balm that contains squalane and hyaluronic acid. What I love about it: obviously the packaging is gorgeous and the subtle rose scent is perfect, not overpowering and fades after a few minutes. It also feels pretty slippery and moisturizing on the lips upon application, HOWEVER, the product and the moisturizing feeling fades very quickly and it never fails that my lips feel more dehydrated than before using this product! Definitely not worth the 18$ price tag. The BITE - Agave+ Intensive Vegan Lip Mask is a much better option for a hydrating lip balm. This formula is thick going on but once it warms up a bit on the lip, it feels so smooth and luxurious. This hydrates and moisturizes SO well. I live in Wisconsin and if there’s anything us northerners know about, it’s dry skin. Especially dry lips. This product has warded off my usual dry cracked lips during the winter months! I leave this next to my bed and use it as a sleeping mask. In the morning my lips are smooth, hydrated and prepped for whatever lip products I put on for the day!! And lastly, HURRAW! - Night Treatment Balm, Blue Chamomile Vanilla is my ONLY chapstick I use. I finally found THE ONE. I’ve never been into waxy formulas like Burts Bees which I know a lot of people like. This formula is packed with extremely moisturizing oils like avocado oil and Aegean oil- as well as rose hip oil which has regenerative properties. I purchase this from Follain- I’m not sure of other online retailers for this other than the actual Hurraw website!! 100% recommend!! What are your favorite hydrating lip products??

✨Current morning routine ☀️✨
This is my fall/winter skin routine, it’s not as moisturizing as a lot of others people’s routines (but I’m indoors a lot more so my biggest concern is dry air versus cold dry air, and maskne) THE inkey LIST - Polyglutamic Acid Hydrating Serum Recently, I learned of the benefits of polyglutamic acid and figured why not try it out. Apart from the strong chemical smell. I love the foundation it creates for my face, leaving it ever so slight tacky making it much easier to add on other products without that built up feeling. It’s been a couple months and I have noticed a different in the softness of my face and just so you know, it’s perfectly fine to use with hyaluronic acid! COSRX - Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence After my foundation, I go on to add the revered snail mucin, no need to rave about this. You must already know if you’re here haha. THE inkey LIST - Beta Hydroxy Acid (BHA) Blemish + Blackhead Serum My newest holy grail. It has reduced the appearance of the clogged pores on my nose. And let me tell you I have so many of them. From blackheads to keratin plugs. I totally believe everyone should have a bha serum of any sort in their routine! PEACH & LILY - Glass Skin Refining Serum The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% I go over all of the previous products with 2 of my favorite niacinamide products, niacinamide helps with a multitude of ailments, from hyperpigmentation/scarring to pore care. It’s definitely helped with certain areas of my face. THE inkey LIST - Caffeine Eye Cream I know the cream isn’t going to stay put only on my eye area and usually I avoid eye creams all together but recently I have been interested in trying out different eye creams, I do enjoy this one. Although I have not really seem much of a difference in the way my eyes look haha THE BETTER SKIN CO. - Better Skin Mirakle Cream To seal it all in, a good fragrance free moisturizer.

Youth to the People dreams ☁️🌈
Me: DRY skin in winter (combo in summer), very sensitive/reactive/allergic, currently acne prone, also have a nose that is very picky about scents Onto my next bunch of brand minis, I tried the YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - With Pride Minis Kit Overall excellent kit for the price, all good products worth trying, and generously sized minis! Least Favorite: YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Yerba Mate Resurfacing Energy Facial This one was just kind of anticlimactic for me. It smelled nice, it worked fine, it didn’t bother my skin, but I also didnt see much of a difference? Overall good physical exfoliator, but maybe physical exfoliators just arent for me. The next physical exfoliant I’m trying is the GOOD MOLECULES - Pineapple Exfoliating Powder Second Place: YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Antioxidant Cleanser I liked this cleanser. As a dry skin person I was SURE this would be too stripping, but actually it wasnt too bad! I am definitely more of a creamy cleanser person, but I can see myself loving this in summer. I like the ingredients, and i like the green juice smell. Overall ~4.5 stars. My next “green juice” cleanser to try is the Krave - Matcha Hemp Hydrating Cleanser The Absolute Best 😍😍😍: YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superberry Hydrate + Glow Dream Mask literally a dream. Hydrated and glowy and smooth and so much more. I’m realizing that it is quite hard to get both hydrated AND glowing. This smells delicious and makes my face feel like a baby’s butt in the morning. Absolutely 10 stars all around. I’m trying out another vitamin c sleeping mask (KORRES - Wild Rose Vitamin C Brightening Sleeping Facial) but honestly, I dont even know why because i should just take the plunge and buy the jumbo size of this dream mask ☁️🌈 How do you feel about YTTP? I’m curious to try the moisturizers. I love the green smell but I’m guessing the superfood air whip moisturizer will be too light for me. Any dry folks who have tried both? Also need to try the superberry oil, especially if it smells like the mask! Also, which of their two eye creams would you recommend trying? Leave it in the comments!

Lit From Within Glowwww✨😍
I recently started using these 4 products for almost 2 weeks now & I’m never turning back!!! •YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Air-Whip Moisture Cream •YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superberry Hydrate + Glow Oil •YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superberry Hydrate + Glow Dream Mask •Glossier. - Futuredew Oil Serum Hybrid I have never had such a consistent glow to my skin since starting these! I get complimented daily! I love these products so much. The two Youth To The People creams absorb so quickly & don’t leave it feeling like you have all this junk on your face either. My previous moisturizer would always pill up once I went to put anything else on my face & these don’t do that! The Glossier serum is also extremely light & doesn’t clog pores which is something I was worried about initially. It comes out in this pinkish color but it doesn’t turn your skin any other, it just gives you a dewy look. & the Youth To The People serum is amazing of course! It literally gives me this glow like no other! A little bit goes a very long way, as with most of their products. Now I just need to clear up the little bit of texture I have left in my chin! I blame it on the fact that I went out quite a bit the last week (church, grocery shopping, random errands) & of course wore a mask the whole time! Resulting in some maskne 😢 But that is just temporary! As is every blemish! I definitely recommend trying these products guys! They are HOLY GRAILS if there ever was one! @cherie@Cheriebeauty@CheriePick

YTTP Superfood Air-Whip Moisture Cream Review
[PRODUCT REVIEW] Moisturizer YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Air-Whip Moisture Cream Vegan Cruelty free Gluten free What it is: A lightweight gel-cream with Kale extracts (phytonutrients, vitamin C/E/K), green tea extracts (antioxidants) and hyaluronic acid. It claims to help fight free radicals and also replenish and support healthy skin barrier. $48/60mL (2 oz). Texture: Lightweight gel cream. Not greasy. Absorbs fast. Smells light and refreshing. My experience: It was one of my favorite moisturizers back when my skin was more oily and I didn’t have to deal with NYC winter nor staying inside with heat blowing on my face 24/7. That being said, I still like it a lot. I love the texture and the scent. It helps with my redness too. I think it’ll be a great summer moisturizer for me (mid 20s, combination textbook skin). But right now, it doesn’t lock in as much moisture as I need it to.

Skin Care = Mama’s Self Care Journey
With many responsibilities as mothers, caregivers, women, we also have a responsibility of a healthy relationship with oneself. I have a beautiful son of eighteen months and in that time, I’ve really come to realize that I have neglected myself. My skin is probably dry to combination dry, due to the tiniest of spots on my T zone being oily. I’ve never really had issue with my skin until I woke up and realized, “Wow! I look as tired as I am!” and that sweet realization made me want to change my skin for the better. I’m down with skin care on a budget, but will probably end of splurging for the sake of hydration, decreased redness and skin irritation. Please let me know if you have any suggestions! Also, as I am a newbie, tell me how to use these products- I am shocked as how many products have no clear instructions. LA ROCHE-POSAY - Toleriane Hydrating Gentle Face Cleanser - I really love the lack of overpowering fragrance, although I’m not inherently against a scented product. This was one of the few cleaners that did not rip the hydration out of my skin almost immediately. ⭐️🧼 - I do have some interest in oil based cleansers, as I’m more dry - any suggestions? e.l.f. - Gentle Peeling Exfoliant - This was a product that I didn’t know I needed. I’ve always used products that didn’t adequately exfoliate and because so, layers of dead and unnecessary skin piled on my face. This did it’s job and left my skin soft and supple. PACIfICA - Vegan Collagen Hydrating Milk Tonic - The product really felt a bit drying, but it felt like it was doing it’s job? The jury is definitely still out on this one. ⭐️💦 - Any suggestion for a more hydrating toner that’s cruelty free? PACIfICA - Water Bounce Moisture Shot Booster Serum - This smells fantastic. Really. I added it as my last step in my skin care routine and it definitely took care of any lingering dryness on my forehead and cheeks. (Thank you winter in New England!) e.l.f. - Holy Hydration! Face Cream - This was a little bit of a disappointment for me, as I was suggested this as a Tatcha dupe and this is really sealing the realization that there really isn’t a true dupe for it. The smell is run of the mill, not bad, but the hydration definitely is far from holy. Seemed like a very basic cream, nothing special. LA ROCHE-POSAY - Toleriane Double Repair Face Moisturizer UV SPF 30 - This is a sunscreen that doesn’t break me out or irritate as bad as most so for my sensitive skin and the scent of zinc oxide isn’t in your face, love that. PACIfICA - Color Quench Lip Tint - I purchased the scent Guava Berry and it smells like a Starburst, isn’t a weird filmy consistency, and not super pigmented at all. If you want color pull off, this is a no, but I was only seeking hydration. Kind of wish it had some SPF though. 💗 Ella

TONERS VS. TONICS! WHAT SHOULD YOU USE?
let's clear some things up so you know what's right for your routine! the world of skincare continues to grow so it's in your best interest to do research and make sure you're using products that are good for you not because of hype! toners & tonics are both great skincare pick me ups but which one is for you? PLEASE DONT HESITATE TO ASK QUESTIONS! WHAT IS A TONER? toners are used after cleansing and take away left behind residue that your cleanser couldn't get to. It acts as a primer of your skin care routine so it can help prep for all the other products that will be used in your routine. some toners even help balance the skin's pH levels & minimize the LOOK of pores (doesn't actually shrink your pores that's impossible!) lastly, it can help with exfoliation to create a softer supple look to your skin! all of which are great but what if you don't need to exfoliate everyday cause you have drier skin? well.... WHAT IS A TONIC? even though the lines get blurred there are differences between toners and tonics. so speaking on tonics, I think of this as a first layer of moisture rather than exfoliation like a toner. tonics give a boost of moisture and help maintain hydration in the skin. they can aid in rejevunating tired, dull skin types. no SHAME! we all have bad skin days. SO... WHAT DO I USE? as I said before toners and tonics do have a lot in common but they have some soft differences so the biggest recommendation I can give is: - LOOK AT INGREDIENTS! - KNOW YOUR SKIN TYPE! - EXFOLIATION VS. HYDRATION! EXAMPLES: (both products are vegan, cruelty & alchol free) The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution VERY POPULAR! Glycolic Acid offers exfoliating benefits also contains properties of aloe vera & ginseng for soothing moisture maintained. This is a great product but you NEED to use it carefully! This will TONE & BALANCE the skin. PACIfICA - Vegan Collagen Hydrating Milk Tonic NEW RELEASE! Vegan collagen supports skin elasticity while antioxidants & Hyaluronic Acid boosts and maintains hydration in the skin. This product is a new release but poses great benefits for those with drier skin! Mainly, take the time to get to know your skin. The world of skincare is growing by the MINUTE! The best kind of routine is one that you can create & trust on your own.

ROSE FACIAL TONER! I’m in heaven ❤️
ROSE FACIAL TONER! I’m in heaven ❤️
I have been using this product for roughly a month now and have seen incredible results. I started using this when I moved to NYC because the pollution can totally change the texture of your skin... and it did. I was recommended this product and I am in love! My skin has cleared up so much and is way more hydrated. I would 100% recommend this to anyone who wants a toner with sensitive skin! It’s light, very calming and good for every day use. My Cherie rating would be a 5/5.

OK I am obsessed with Love Island UK and this resurfacing mask from @cocokind. It’s a sleeping mask so you literally are getting your beauty rest with this pretty babe. Did someone say plant-derived retinol???? @cocokind said yes, ever heard of bakuchiol? First impression: loved, loved, loved. I actually did see a difference in my skin the next morning. I’ve really been noticing a dullness in my skin as of late, so this was a great pick me up! Can’t wait to try the Chlorophyll Mask next. Also for the high end plant derived ingredients, the masks aren’t ridiculously priced! You can also order online 🤗 **Update on the mask: I use it whenever I need a skin refresh, put it on at night (feels like whipped honey) and wake up to glowing, smooth skin. Does stick to sheets so, make sure not wear on newly washed sheets lol

Not Worth the Hype: K-Beauty Edition
Not Worth the Hype: K-Beauty Edition
I don’t really “get” the hype around K-Beauty in general, to be honest- the emphasis on hydration is wonderful for drier skin tones but leaves a bit to be desired for my sensitive combo skin since the actives often aren’t as concentrated as in brands like Paula’s Choice. Finding K-Beauty products without fragrance, alcohol, and/or essential oils is surprisingly difficult, so when I had the opportunity to try out LANEIGE - Cream Skin Toner & Moisturizer through Octoly, I jumped on it. I’ve seen this toner raved about on Instagram by tons of skincare influencers so I was excited to utilize it on nights I use tretinoin, to prevent dryness. I was mainly excited because I had seen it mentioned by @citizenglow on Insta and she has never failed me. But this was... unremarkable. $33 USD gets you a sturdy bottle filled with 150mL (5 fl oz) of toner that claims to moisturize as effectively as a cream. It is a milky white liquid with the thinness of water, with no identifiable scent and a somewhat sticky finish. I legitimately couldn’t and can’t tell a difference when I use this and when I forget to apply it. I used it consistently for two weeks but saw no long-term or short-term results so I just use it here and there on nights I remember to. It’s not a bad toner, it’s just pointless in my opinion and not worth the money despite the large amount of product you get. It also isn’t cruelty-free, which is a bummer. This was definitely a “miss” for me in the Insta Hype Product category.

Great Toner for Dry Skin
Great Toner for Dry Skin
Kiehl's - Ultra Facial Toner The Kiehl's Ultra Facial toner is one of my top picks for a toner for dry skin. This is a gentle alcohol free toner that contains emollients (oils) like Squalane, Apricot Kernel Oil, Avocado Oil and Vitamin E, and is pH balanced. This toner does not strip the skin of natural oils, and I'd actually say it adds some oils back to the skin, making this a good choice for dry, but not oily or acne prone skin. How does it perform? Look at my second photo, the texture shot of this toner. Notice it's milky and white, unlike most non asian toners, which are clear. It has a milky and hydrating texture that soothes my dry skin in the winter. Being in my late 30s, my skin isn't as moist as it used to be (though I'm still prone to hormonal breakouts and large pores on my nose). After cleansing I use it in the morning or some evenings before applying the rest of my skincare routine including actives. It isn't drying or stripping. My skin feels refreshed but not tight like it does when using other toners which may or may not contain alcohol. It leaves my skin hydrated with a good barrier for some active and possibly irritating ingredients. Because this contains oil, I would not recommend this for acne prone or oily skin. This retails a reasonable $16 for a large 8 ounce bottle. Definitely a good value! I rate this gentle toner for dry skin 5/5 stars. It's not for everyone as the bottle suggests, but it's a good value and an exceptional winter choice for mature or dry skin.

✨Midnight Blue Calming Cream i
✨Midnight Blue Calming Cream is a gentle treatment cream that calms & soothes sensitivity. It has been indispensible as I navigate these sensitive irritated rosacea waters. Star ingredients are Guaiazulene extracted from chamomile oil, which carries powerful skin calming abilities, and Centella Asiatica, which helps hydrate and relieve redness. It’s also has a beautiful blue hue and silky texture. ✨The supple preparation toner balances the skin’s pH level and improves the effectiveness of subsequent skincare steps. Plant extracts and soothing ingredients combine to form a calming, non-irritating, hydrating toner. Key ingredients include Phyto-Oligo to deeply moisturize, beta-glucan and hyaluronic acid to prolong hydration and wheat amino acids to help reduce inflammation. This is easily one of the most hydrating toners I have tried. However, because I’m neurotic about residue post cleansing I tend to use a more traditional toner on a cotton pad to make sure there are no traces then follow up by patting this into the skin. . ✨Both of these products from klairs have had a spot in my collection for quite some time and even though I may put them aside to test other products, they remain tried and true favorites.
