Inflamed pimple

I used to use the OLE HENRIKSEN - Truth Juice Daily Cleanser
and I barely used to get pimples but it dried my skin out as hell so i started a new routine around 2 months ago and this is what it is: CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser
I love the way it leaves my skin glowy and with a nice texture however as you can see I have a big pimple so idk if it’s bc of that or what but yeah. I tried the foaming cleanser bIt it made me break out with tiny pimples so I stopped. Used to use the lactic acid but I changed to glycolic ages ago. The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution
The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%
The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5
Sometimes I use CeraVe - SA Smoothing Cleanser
CeraVe - Daily Moisturizing Lotion For Normal To Dry Skin
I have dry skin but I guess it’s more prone to acne too. Any advice would be great I just want my skin to look nice again 🥺

Skincare_obsessedI recommend the Mad hippie cream cleanser, it’s really nice for dry skin and fairly affordable. Try using Mandelic acid, it can help with clogged pores and hair follicles but it’s a type of Aha so it’s okay for people with dry skin to use it. I recommend The ordinary Mandelic acid 10% + HA. Also try using a thicker moisturizer because that lotion is better for more normal to oily skin. Hope it helps :)

I really really need help
Ok so I have no idea whats going on with my skin. I struggle with hyperpigmentation. Wether i pop my pimples or not, It will usually end up scaring or turning darker. Its like a vicious cycle and I cant seem to get my skin clear before my period and the whole pimple and scaring starts again. So I decided to change my routine, since my old one was not doing anything beneficial for my skin. Believing the hype I decided to get “The ordinary products because I dont have to wallet to afford more expensive items and I dont even live in America to shop freely for the items i need. Here my current routine innisfree - Volcanic Clusters Pore Clearing Facial Foam FARMACY - Green Clean Makeup Meltaway Cleansing Balm YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Antioxidant Cleanser On alternate days ill use The Ordinary - Lactic Acid 5% + HA The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution And lastly The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% The Ordinary - Azelaic Acid Suspension 10% CeraVe - Daily Moisturizing Lotion For Normal To Dry Skin I use the niacinimide before the Hyaluronic acid, and i only use one of the 2 listed cleansers Im not sure if im putting to much on my face but Im feeling really hopeless and i would love if someone explained what is happening to me. Ive obviously purged when i used these products but now my skin is acting like it’s breaking out. Its been almost exactly a month and i dont see any difference in my skin

Skincare routune for combo/ acne prone skin.
If you are like me that never had acne and started breaking out like crazy. Or you simply been dealing with acne for a little bit. You know you have every product on the face of this earth just trying to clear your skin. Spent all that money we had no business spending. im here to tell you. Simplicity is key. Repeat after me: SIMPLICITY IS KEY lol So my goal is to go through all products that i have and repurchase my absolute favs (gonna take a while) We learn as we go. And this is what I have learnt • fix your diet. (No it doesn’t clear your skin) but it helps. What that means is less fatty and more water. I’ve always had very simple diet but when over quarantine, i had nothing to do but eat and thats when I started breaking out. I don’t eat super clean but i eat better. • less is more •stick to a routine. Find what works, it takes time but listen to your skin and make changes. I have included in the pictures, my morning, night and peel routine. Questions are welcome ☺️ MORNING CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser I like works well. I might not repurchase because I’ve always used (eminence stone crop gel) and plan to go back ti my natural skin care line when i run out of everything EMINENCE - Lime Refresh Tonique I use this since everything else is hydrating CeraVe - Daily Moisturizing Lotion For Normal To Dry Skin Nice and lightweight Supergoop! - Unseen Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 40 Love! Great for combo/ oily and even normal. NIGHT CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser EMINENCE - Lime Refresh Tonique The Ordinary - Alpha Arbutin 2% + HA CeraVe - Daily Moisturizing Lotion For Normal To Dry Skin EVERY TUESDAY NIGHT (exfoliate) CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser #Eminence - Strawberry rhubarb dermafoliant[products]#[FiveStars] EMINENCE - Lime Refresh Tonique The Ordinary - Alpha Arbutin 2% + HA CeraVe - Daily Moisturizing Lotion For Normal To Dry Skin EVERY SUNDAY NIGHT CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser EMINENCE - Lime Refresh Tonique bliss - Clear Genius Clarifying Liquid Peel Different from the ordinary because you leave this on. I like because i think its not as strong as the ordinary (never used the ordinary tho) CeraVe - Daily Moisturizing Lotion For Normal To Dry Skin EVERY FRIDAY NIGHT. I use any face masque of my choice.

Game to determine what acids you should use!
I have been getting some comments asking what kind of acids you should use based on your skin type and I have been trying to do my best to help you guys out but I just saw this great post by @beautycasion_by_shurti which will really help anyone who has questions about this out, please go check that out. Skin journey week 1
Before using OBAGI - Tretinoin 0.025% Cream vs 1 day after using it. This product will dry out your skin so make sure you apply at night and use a moisturizer after 30 mins of application. The reason i said 30 mins is because i want the product to fully get adjusted to my skin before applying other products. If you apply during the day please apply sunscreen after. During the first week, my skin will start peeling and pimples will start to appear but the key to this journey is PATIENCE PATIENCE PATIENCE and TRUST THE PROCESS. I’ll continue to post my journey weekly ☺️ Morning routine: Neutrogena - Oil-Free Acne Wash The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% Aveeno - Clear Complexion Sheer Daily Moisturizer SPF 30 Nightly routine OBAGI - Tretinoin 0.025% Cream Aveeno - Clear Complexion Sheer Daily Moisturizer SPF 30

The ordinary love✨✨
I cannot express enough my struggles with oily skin and acne. I’ve tried countless skin care products and nothing worked for me. My last try to fix my skin was using K-beauty products as much as I loved their products it just did not work for me. That’s when I tried The ordinary although I was skeptical at first but after seeing the results I was blown away by the change. The Ordinary - Squalane Cleanser I begin my day with cleaning my face using this cleanser and it leaves my skin feeling hydrated and smooth. This can also be used as a makeup cleanser and it works as effectively as any other makeup remover. Hylamide - Pore Flush Acne prone skin certainly faces large pore issues and my skin was no different. This product helps reduce your pore size. I spray (or pat) this on my face after using the cleanser and within seconds it gets absorbed in my skin (I absolutely love love love that). The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 It’s my personal opinion to use HA before using Niacinamide as it doesn’t leave your face feeling dry. Hydration is the key to achieve fresh looking soft skin and i achieved it using this product. The Ordinary - 100% Niacinamide Powder I’ve tried the niacinamide +zinc and it’s powder version too and tbh they both work great. Please note this product did not help me with my current acne but helped me control the sebum activity on my skin which in turn did not give me any new breakouts. The Ordinary - Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA I can swear by this product 😍. It doesn’t leave my skin oily, doesn’t give me any breakouts and my skin feels soo smooth. I will 💯 recommend this product to anyone who struggles with oily and acne prone skin. The Ordinary - Salicylic Acid 2% Masque Any nose strip I used to get rid of my blackheads they ended up giving me a very oily t-zone 😓. I use this product once 2 weeks for 10 mins on my face and holy grain, it not only cleans my face but doesn’t leave it feeling dehydrated. ✨I have never overused any product on my skin and hence never faced any sort of dryness on my face. I’d certainly recommend trying these products. It’s a 10/10 for me. I hope this helps you and do let me know your experience with this brand 💜

AM, PM, Occasional, and New Products!
I’ve been simplifying my day to day routines and working in “specialty” products on occasion, to save time and money. AM (Alllll about quick and easy!) Andalou Apricot Cleansing Milk Cerave PM Moisturizer Nivea Super Watery Gel SPF PM Cerave Hydrating Cleanser (or Andalou if I want more richness) EB5 Anti Aging Toner Curology (clindamyacin 1%, tretinoin .04%, azelaic acid 7%) Hadalabo Hyalruronic Acid Illiyoon Ceramide Moisturizer Acure Blue Tansy Oil Rotating Products Makeup Removal: Farmacy Green Clean Cleansing Balm (I know some of you swear by the double cleanse, but it’s typically too irritating for me daily) Exfoliating (in place of EB5): Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant, Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Ultra Gentle Peel (great when I feel a breakout coming on), Alpha H Liquid Gold (for when I’m feeling super lazy—I cleanse, use this, and slap on a thick moisturizer...that’s it!) Laneige Water Sleeping Mask: Great top coat to seal in extra moisture Cicaplast Baume 5: Also a great top coat, more occlusive and I love when I’m feeling super dry Acne Spot Treatment: Kate Somerville EradiKate reduces size and redness overnight. Tends to pull off the whiteheads and cause bleeding & thus scarring when removed the next morning, so use with caution Holy Grail: Naturopathica Alpine Rose Recovery Serum. This is a 7-day treatment serum that reduces redness, plumps you up, and helps bump up the glow. For use 3-4 times a year at most, so would be great to use if you have an event you want to look extra glowy for. (Who goes anywhere nowadays? I can dream...) New Products (both recommended by my skincare group. Will update) Stratia Liquid Gold: Additional evening moisture layer Stratia Rewind: evening moisture layer, supposed to help with redness too

Winter Routine for DRY Skin
My cheeks have been SO dry lately. It’s been a struggle to keep my sensitive combo skin hydrated with the change in weather. I’ve thus made a couple swaps from my summer routine to keep my skin moisturized and not flakey. 🌬I swapped my trusty jojoba oil in the morning for a light application of Dr. Jart+ - Ceramidin Cream (I use about half the amount I use at night- just enough to get an even layer) 🌬I went back the old CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser from their new CeraVe - Hydrating Cream-To-Foam Cleanser . Although I like the new version better, I just need every scrap of hydration I can get right now. 🌬Lastly, I recently started applying a thin layer of Aquaphor - Aquaphor Healing Ointment over my cheeks at night (post on this coming soon!) In short, my routine is now: 🌤 rinse, hydrating toner, moisturizer, spf 🌙 double cleanse, moisturizer*, ointment as needed *I swap my Ceramidin for MAELOVE - Night Renewer 2x / week

Active Ingredients for Oily Acne-Prone Skin
Where are my oily-skin peeps at? 🙋🏻‍♀️ I hated looking like a shiny-faced grease ball as a pre-teen and teen, but now glowy skin is in! But that doesn't mean we can't benefit from having some oil-targetting ingredients in our routine. The oil on our skin is called sebum. It is produced by sebaceous glands naturally and is made up of a mixture of lipids (oily molecules) like wax esters, squalene, cholesterol, triglycerides, and various fatty acids. It’s essential for normal skin function by creating a protective coating on our skin that helps keep it moisturized. However, if our body produces too much sebum, then we have “oily” skin and if our body produces too little sebum we have “dry” skin. People with oily skin are prone to clogged pores and acne because this sebum then mixes with dead skin cells and builds up on our skin. In order to prevent or reduce this, we can use ingredients that target our sebaceous glands to reduce how much is produced, and also target components of the oil to prevent build up. RETINOIDS are great for many reasons (check out my last post for a guide on retinoids and what’s so great about them) but I mention there here because they specifically shrink the size of sebaceous gland which leads to less oil production. SALICYLIC ACID is a BHA and is the only oil soluble chemical exfoliant which means that it can dissolve the oil to clear our pores. This is great especially for targeting blackheads (check out my second post for more info on this BHA). NIACINANIDE (also known as Vitamin B3) is a molecule essential for metabolism in all cells. It has also been shown to reduce triglycerides and other fatty acids in oil. Research shows that 2-5% of niacinamide is effective for the benefits of topical application even though several brands have products with concentrations as high as 10%. Some people experience redness with higher concentrations of niacinamide, so just remember that more does not necessarily mean better and try starting with products that have <5% niacinamide. Which products do you already use with these ingredients? Some I’ve used and enjoyed are: The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% I'm from - Rice Toner PURITO - Galacto Niacin 97 Power Essence The Ordinary - Granactive Retinoid 2% in Squalane PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator #CheriePartner

Day 1 of accutane
Soo here we go guys, I’ve had acne since I was 12, I’ve just now turned 19, and I’m tired of spending money trying to find products that might work for my skin. I’ve tried anything and everything you can think of to get rid of it (topical and oral medications) and this is my last option. So I’ll be updating you as I go on. Here’s my skincare routine right now: CeraVe - SA Smoothing Cleanser The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution THE inkey LIST - 15% Vitamin C and EGF CLINIQUE - Acne Solutions Clinical Clearing Gel The Ordinary - Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA SUNPLAY - Skin aqua UV moisture milk (I have the blue one) If you have any questions about the products let me know!

Morning routine that saved my skin!✨
I’ve been using these products for about a month now (some a little longer than others) to target clogged pores and blackheads in my nose and chin area and enlarged pores under my eyes in the cheek area. Luckily, I can definitely say I’ve seen major differences, especially in my chin area. It’s now much softer and barely anything is visible, I have a way to go with my nose area though. CeraVe - SA Smoothing Cleanser - I absolutely love this cleanser!! I like that it has Salicylic Acid to target my blackheads but it’s still so gentle and not drying at all. It’s a good size and has a pump which makes it super convenient, also it’s gel which I prefer over foam, which can be drying. I use it daily AM and PM. As for the price depending on where you get it from it varies from $10-$13 from what I’ve seen on Target, CVS, Walgreens. PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator - I read about this product on different sites and many people recommended it. I decided to give it a try and it has not disappointed!! It’s a clear liquid that’s super gentle and can be used daily, and personally my skin has not had any issue with that. It’s helped with my enlarged pores a lot and it’s now a must in my routine. I only use it in the AM daily since it’s gentle enough. At $29.50 for 4oz it’s not the cheapest but definitely worth it. The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% - this is my second bottle of this serum and I’m super impressed by it. It took a little trial and error to figure out the exact amount that works for me (adding more than needed makes it foam which might cause for the serum to not work) but now I know how much to use my skin eats it up in seconds! I usually put it on my palm then run my palms and tap them on my skin. I use it AM and PM except for when I’m doing a chemical exfoliant peel. At $5.90 it’s super affordable! Neutrogena - Neutrogena Hydroboost Water Gel Moisturizer - I’ve reviewed this moisturizer before too but I feel like it’s gotten better. It still has a smell I don’t necessarily like and some dye in it but it absorbs lightning fast and because it has HA it leaves the skin super moisturized. I don’t necessarily see myself repurchasing but I don’t mind using it either. At $21-25 I’d say it’s an affordable moisturizer Neutrogena - Hydro Boost Sunscreen SPF 50 - I use this sunscreen daily and though I’ve seen people recommending the use of about two fingers of sunscreen, it would be impossible with this one. I use about a penny size and it’s already a lot. It leaves an initial cast but the skin absorbs it and it’s no longer visible in a few. It also has a scent which is why it’s not my favorite. I’m not super against scents but this one lingers and if you’re wearing perfume or any type of mist they just mix (for about 20-30 min) so it’s not the nicest thing.

Coming back with some fun content!
Hey Cherie gang! 🍒 I (think) I’m finally feeling ready to come back with some worthy content to share. It’s been much too long but my mind just hasn’t been where it needs to be to share. 😣 BUT the good thing is....this means I have loads of reviews coming your way because over the last 5-6 months I’ve sampled and used a wide range of products. 🤩 This coming week I’ll be sharing with you my “—NO FAIL ROUTINE—“ This will be the products that never fail me, that time and time again I keep coming back to, both AM & PM. I’ll be sharing my go to vitamin C, retinol, hyaluronic acid, Niacinamide acid, AHA, BHA, oils, exfoliators, masks, as well as cleansers and moisturizers. Hopefully I cover it all. And if I miss something, let me know. Keep in mind my skin is normal to dry/mature. I also have fine lines and acne scars. Hope you’ll join me 🤓 Much ❤️ my @cheriefamily 🍒

Am I using the right products for my skin?
Am I using the right products for my skin?
Hey guys!! So I’ve battled with acne my whole life and I’ve never found that one product that really works for me! As I’ve grown older my skin has obviously changed and so have my hormone levels, where i now find that my acne isn’t caused by hormones anymore. Only when *that time* comes I’ll get pimples on my chin and forehead but throughout the month it’s pretty alright. My struggle recently has been pimples on my cheeks which I realised was caused by my makeup. I have now created a whole new regime for myself and I’ve been going at this for about a month. As you can tell, I’m full of blemishes which are still present from pimples I’ve had months ago. So my question is, are the products i’m using going to help to get rid of the blemishes and help to completely clear my skin of pimples or am I going to end up clogging myself up and cause a bigger breakout ? In the AM I usually wash my face with my Cerave cleanser, use the niaminacide and zinc cream from the ordinary and then I’ll finish with my moisturiser and sunscreen. In the PM I’ll double cleanse with my squalene cleanser and my cerave cleanser, put on my niaminacide and zinc again and finish with my rose hip oil to hydrate my skin as I’ve felt quite dry in the winter. I’ll also use the Mario badesque drying lotion after to apply to any pimples and I’ll use the AHA and BHA exfoliating mask from the ordinary 1-2 times a week. I haven’t seen a massive difference yet and I am suffering from hormonal acne at the minute but I want to know if what I’m using will be promising as ive almost lost hope for my skin at this point. I would say I generally have normal skin with an oily t-zone as well :) (Also waiting for my Azelaic acid from the ordinary to come in the mail to help with my blemishes) If anyone could please please let me know what you think it would be greatly appreciated !

Updated Skincare Routine for Dry and Oily skin
Updated Skincare Routine for Dry and Oily skin
So this is how my face looks after 12 days of using nicinamide of the ordinary. My verdict about it is 10/10. I definitely get less sebum and less acne, and the blemishes also started to fade away. My skin care routine hasn’t change in the past 2 months and ive never been happier. AM skincare routine: -Hydrating Cleanser from CeraVe (because i have reslly dry skin) -89 Vichy Booster - Nicinamide and Zinc from The Ordinary - Moisturizing Cream from CeraVe -Heliocare Sun Screen Gel 50 spf - Eye Repair Cream from CeraVe PM skincare routine: (I use the healing clay mask 1-2 times a week) -Hydrating Cleanser from CeraVe (because i have reslly dry skin) -89 Vichy Booster - Nicinamide and Zinc from The Ordinary - Moisturizing Cream from CeraVe -Eye Repair Cream from CeraVe - Blistex Lip Medex I haven’t used makeup in month and my goal with this routine is to get my face nice and clean, so i can no longer look back and depend on makeup. IMPORTANT: -All of the products i use on my face are fragrance free. Fragrance will only irritate your skin. -HYDRATE AS MUCH AS YOU CAN this truly saved me. • I have been following this skincare routine for roughly a month or so.. I have Normal/Combo skin, and so far, I haven’t been seeing many noticeable changes on my skin. I struggle with small white bumps on my face, uneven skin tone, as well as hyperpigmentation. I did lots of research about skincare prior to purchasing these products, and I was recommended these products based on my skin type + struggles. • step 1.GARNIER - SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water All-in-1 Mattifying I use this product every night to take off makeup and/or sunscreen. The bottle says to use a cotton pad, but I use my hands because I am trying to be more environmentally conscious. • step 2CeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin I heard good things about this cleanser from the Youtuber Skincare By Hyram. I also heard it worked excellently for other people, so I gave it a try. It’s been working pretty well for me so far. I cleanse every morning + night. • step 3 The Ordinary - Alpha Arbutin 2% + HA I struggle with dark spots (hyperpigmentation.) I heard this product is supposed to help brighten + fade dark spots, so I ordered it. I’ve been using it for roughly a month now, and I’m still not seeing results. I’m not gonna give up on the product, though. I use this every morning + night. • step 4The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% Okay, I’m just gonna come clean and say that the only reason I bought this product is because Skincare By Hyram recommended it. But I ended up finding out it works well with The Ordinary Alpha Arbutin 2% + HA. I use this product every night. • step 5CeraVe - Daily Moisturizing Lotion For Normal To Dry Skin I heard this product was good, and everyone needs a good moisturizer in their life! I have nothing bad to say about it, its lightweight, and a go-to for me! I use this product every morning + night. • step 6Neutrogena - UltraSheer Face Sunscreen SPF 60I’ve heard good & bad things about this sunscreen. But so far, I dislike it. It feels heavy on my skin and it leaves a HUGE white-cast. It also doesn’t even dry on my skin. I kinda feel like its contributing to my acne because its so thick. I use this product every single morning. • Please criticize my routine, or tell me why it isn’t working all that well on my skin. Also, if you have any product recommendations for me, please, do tell!
