Clear Hydrated Skin The Clean Way✨
Staying in the trend of clean beauty, I have found an amazing product to add to my everyday routine. Odacité SKINCARE - Blue Aura Cleansing Water
whenever someone says they only use "natural" beauty I roll my eyes because there really is no clear definition behind what "natural" is and "natural" isnt necessarily good for you. I've always been a skeptic and will continue to be. But I do have respect for those who have such a acute focus on ingredients and one of the most trusted retailers from my experience is the detox market. They are the one retailer that opened my eyes to the clean, green, organic beauty world and actually allowed me to fall in love with some of these products that a year ago, I would have never touched. when I first used the native atlas enzyme mask 2 weeks ago and my face literally turned bright red for 45 minutes, I was like "I KNEW IT THIS IS WHY I DONT USE NATURAL SKINCARE" and wanted to throw the mask away lol. but it was odd bc it wasnt uncomfortable in any way...it was just red. and then the next morning, I was kind of glowing...I guess it really just got all the toxins out! So yeah thats how i fell in love with this mask. Another favorite, Odacite micellar water has really changed up my conception of micellar water because it's not just for removing makeup but it uses neem - a plant extact that is antibacterial and antiinflammatory, and this helps prevent breakouts and calming down the skin.
Brighter, More Even Skin in just 10 Days!
Before we start, pleaaaase pardon my quarantine brows/hair. **GIFTED: I’ve been trying Georgette Klinger’s new Vitamin Collection through Cherie for the past 10 days and have been loving the line so far. This was my first experience with GK and the first time that I’ve ever followed a routine from a brand, so I was excited to see how using products that were designed to go together and comprised of similar ingredients would affect my skin. As someone with sensitive acne-prone skin with a pinch of rosacea, I’m constantly chasing acne scars and dark spots trying to get rid of every last trace of my breakouts, so using a routine fortified with vitamin C has been really helpful is fighting discoloration/hyperpigmentation and redness. I’ve been using each product twice daily. On day 1, I had some hormonal pimples that were on their way out and my skin was super red from being in the sun. By day 5, the scarring began to decrease and I noticed that the bright redness had started to go down as well, making things look more even and now on day 10, everything is barely there and my complexion is noticeably more even and radiant. Dare I say, the vitamin C might be helping keep my breakouts at bay (fingers crossed!!) In addition to brightening my skin, I noticed that the products helped smooth my skin’s texture as well, which is always welcome. Overall, I'm really pleased with the way the Vitamin C collection has been treating my skin and am so happy to have been able to try it out!

They are designed to treat your specific skin concern (clear vs fade). I have been using their Fade Routine Max ($70) which my favorite product is the ROSEN SKINCARE - Bright Citrus Serum . It is packed with 20% vitamin c that helps me to get rid of the dark spot from occasional breakout. Got these babies in today ! Can't wait to try !
Y'all know I've been searching for a good moisturizer AND sunscreen so I got two in one with the SLMD - Daily Moisturizer With SPF 15 Going to be trying this at the end of my morning routine tomorrow so super excited . On my hand I wanted to show the consistency to you guys and I thought to myself damn this is white and the box/bottle states it doesn't leave a white film so I was like "pffft yea right this shit is as white as the bottles color" BUT THEN I rubbed it into the skin on my hand and kidding you not after three rub ins it completely went away no white film at allllll I'm telling you lmao magic . And it left my hand feeling really mositutized in that one area I put it on compared to the rest. The other product wasn't on the drop down list so I created one with the website attached where you can purchase . I read a lot of reviews on this SLMD - Dark Spot Fix 2% Hydroquinone Skin Lightening Gel And I've been looking for something to help these acne scars fade faster because honestly the acne doesn't bother me as much as the scarring does on my face idk if anyone can relate but ugh I can't stand looking at these scars . This gel is formulated to lighten dark spots and hyperpigmentation so I said hmmm let's give it a whirl . I'm thinking to do Differin one night and then apply this every other night that I don't use the Differin because it contains Salicylic Acid and that doesn't mix well with Differin . I'll keep you guys updated on how this product is working or not working for my skin ! 🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

HIT OR MISS? Ole Henriksen Dark Spot Toner
Hey!! Thought I would review the OLE HENRIKSEN - Glow2OH Dark Spot Toner as I had quite a different experience from the majority of the reviews on Sephora. This product is 190ml (i.e. 6.5 FL. OZ.) and retails for $39 AUD (at Sephora). It claims to be a ‘dark spot’ toner- essentially consisting of glycolic acid, witch hazel and lactic acid & is meant to help with dark spots, fine lines and wrinkles. While I can’t comment on how it performed on fine lines & wrinkles (as I’m quite young), I thought I would review it based on how it performed on my dark spots. I would apply this with a cotton pad (as instructed on the back) after cleansing my face, and would use it on consecutive nights (since my skin isn’t sensitive, it was okay with the level of usage). I have ice pick scars, and general acne scars on my cheeks especially, with slight hyperpigmentation specifically around my mouth. If you do purchase this, make sure you don’t put it over broken skin (like I did a couple times) because it stings SO BAD, which is to be expected. I trusted in the reviews on Sephora and bought it as the reviews claimed it had amazing results for their skin, but it did close to nothing for mine. I never woke up the next day with glowing skin or seeing a reduction in the appearance of my acne scars nor the hyperpigmentation around my mouth. From what I can tell, AHAs aren’t that great for brown skin. I watched a video on YouTube by a doctor that specialises in hyperpigmentation for POC (here’s a link if you’re interested: https://youtu.be/dP7aNadaBKk) and the way she explained it was that it is just a bad concoction of ingredients that do not help your skin. Some of the ingredients that it has includes fragrance, witch hazel, glycolic acid & lactic acid- which is very harsh for the skin altogether. The fragrance is nice but very strong, which is especially concerning for a skincare product. My experience with it was basically that it did nothing- no improvements but it didn’t irritate my skin either. The only reason why I’ve used so much of it was to give the product several chances for redemption & use it up so it doesn’t feel like I wasted so much money 😭 As for those who have intense hyperpigmentation, you may see results from this. My friend’s dad used this and he has quite severe hyperpigmentation (almost looked like melasma, but I’m not too sure) and he said he’s seeing really great results. My friend (who only has a little bit of hyperpigmentation) said that she also saw no difference in using the toner like me. I’ve also seen reviews saying it burnt some people; while I didn’t have this reaction as I don’t have sensitive skin, this is something to be aware of. Please do more research if you’re looking into buying this product. Ultimately, I wouldn’t recommend this nor purchase it again. I’m having far greater experiences with The Ordinary products like Niacinamide and Granactive Retinoid Emulsion than this, for more than 1/2 the price. Hope this review was useful!! 💗

Rohto- Melano CC Intensive Anti-Spot Treatment Essence 5/5 💮 ——— Claims to help fade dark spots and acne scars by brightening skin and helps with redness: Brightening: Yes! / Redness: Yes! Texture - Oily and runny Scent - Citrusy Parabens - No ——— Containing high percentage of Vitamin C and Vitamin E, this is the best spot treatment I have tried so far. I have tried a few now and I can establish that this one is the best one out there. This helped me fade a few scars I have on my cheeks and it helped to do so fast! More persistent scars I’m still working on but I’ve had this for a while and it’s my number one spot treatment that I truly recommend for everyone to try. I use it everyday and night whenever I feel that I need to and redness calms down right away while scars could take up to 2-3 days depending on how long I’ve had them. I really like this and a little goes a long way! It takes a little while for it to absorb into the skin. For the best effect I usually wait a little for it to sink into my skin before I continue with my routine, but I don’t have a problem with this. This contains fragrance which doesn’t bother me much, it smells citrusy. Truly recommend this! Best spot treatment out there to fade acne scars etc!

Skincare Favorites: Hyperpigmentation & Oil
These are a few of my favorite skincare products. I have extremely oily skin, which leads to occasional breakouts. The scars from my breakouts seem to never seem to go away. Since using these products I have seen a dramatic change in the amount of oil my skin produces, the amount of breakouts I get and the appearance of my dark spots. ✨Neutrogena Clear Pore Oil-Eliminating Astringent: This product is better than any toner that I’ve used in the past. It strips away the oil from my skin and when used consistently prevents my skin from producing too much oil. This product is extremely drying so I make sure to follow up with an oil-free moisturizer that is very hydrating. The combination leaves my skin feeling balanced. This is less than $10 and every drugstore or grocery store that I’ve been to carries it. ✨Dermalogica PowerBright TRx C-12 Pure Bright Serum: This is one of the only products I’ve used that has helped to reduce the appearance of my dark spots. It is very lightweight and because I only use it on my problem areas it lasts a long time (if you have dark spots all over your face like I do this can be very time consuming but it’s worth it). I began to see my dark spots begin to fade after the first week. You have to be super consistent with this product. Missing a few days could significantly delay the fading process. It is pricey but I think it’s worth the investment. ✨Venn Age-Reversing All-In-One Concentrate: This is a super hydrating moisturizer. It helps to replenish my skins moister after it is stripped away by a toner/astringent and speeds up the fading of my dark spots when used with my Vitamin C serum. The product leaves my skin looking radiant and hydrated and feeling soft and smooth. This is a pricey product but it leaves me feeling pampered and gives great results. ✨Venn Concentrated Revitalizing Lifting Mask: I use this product at night and wake up with a fresh luminous face. If I am leaving my home with no makeup on I will put this on my face to give myself a dewy glow. The product is a thick lotion and a little goes a long way. It lasts forever because you only need a dot. Because it is so thick I don’t apply it before putting on makeup because I like a matte look. This is a little pricey and I do not buy it as frequently as the other 3 products but every once in a while I treat myself.

My Mental Wellness Improved Through My Self AcceptanceWhen I was around 13 or 14 years old, I remember routinely taking one of my older sister’s black eyeliner pencils before school every morning. I’d arrive early so that I could slip away to the girl’s bathroom to apply a single black line to my eyelids. My parents didn’t allow me to wear any makeup at the time. Although this smudgy line on my eyelids didn’t make me look all that much different, I never felt comfortable at school without it. My teenage mind convinced myself that I needed some sort of cosmetic symbol in order to appropriately express my femininity. Up until that point in my life, society had told girls that looked like me - tall, Black, and with kinky hair - that we somehow weren’t as beautiful as the other girls. For far too long, I believed it too.Feb. 17
