Sensitive Skin Ingredients
This is a great guide to show skin sensitive issues ingredients! When I was dealing with skin barrier inflammation, some of these products saved my life. Ingredients I swear by: Aloe Vera: this is great for inflammation and red skin. The plant is amazingly effective, but you can also buy the 100% gel at your local store as well! Fruit of the Earth - Aloe Vera 100% Gel SKINFOOD - Aloe Vera 93% Soothing Gel Green Tea: The tea is a favorite I drink every morning, but I also love this in mask form! TONYMOLY - I'm Real Green Tea Sheet Mask Vitamin C Derivative: There’s many forms of Vitamin C. The strongest, L- Ascorbic Acid, is mostly toted for their effects, but there are other options. Sodium Ascorbly Phosphate, Magnesium Ascorbly Phospahte, etc. If you have skin sensitivity (burning, tingling, etc) to Vitamin C I recommend : Seoul Ceuticals - 20% Vitamin C Hyaluronic Acid Serum Mad Hippie - Vitamin C Serum Lukewarm Water to Rinse: I recommend this no matter type of skin you have. Hot water can dry your face out, making you skin more irritable and sensitive. Less is Key: When experiencing sensitivity it can often be associated to new products and the amount you use on your face. You do not need a 10 step routine to treat skin issues I found when I was using 3-4 steps my skin was treated just as effectively, you just need to find what works for your skin. Mineral sunscreen: There are two types of sunscreen physical and mineral. Physical are usually chemical based and can cause irritation. Some great mineral sunscreens I’ve tried: Supergoop! - Unseen Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 40 Neutrogena - Sensitive Skin Face Liquid Sunscreen SPF 50 My skin is not as sensitive as it was before but this is great photo I got from (babeandbeauty on IG).

September Empties!
Hi Gems! We are now in the full swing of October so it’s time to review what I emptied in September! DevaCurl - One Condition Decadence for Super Curly Hair This conditioner was good for my damaged curls! It provided enough hydration, but I didn’t love how it felt going into my hair. I loved the subtle scent of and the bright packaging! Although this conditioner is great, it is pricy especially when I use so much of it! I have since moved on to trying another curly girl conditioner that I will review soon! JERGENS - Natural Glow Instant Sun Mousse This has been my go to drugstore self tanner for a while now! I never have any issues with it streaking when combined with my tanning mitt and it fades well. The smell is pretty bad and it can be very sticky, so I only leave it on for around 5-6 hours and use baby powder to combat stickiness! The color is great and not too orange! ogx - Renewing Argan Oil Of Morocco Weightless Healing Dry Oil I love this hair oil! It smells amazing AND tackles my frizzy curls like a champ! It is truly weightless and never leaves my hair feeling oily or weighed down! If you have trouble with frizz or just want your hair to look healthy this is definitely for you! I will be repurchasing! Fruit of the Earth - Aloe Vera 100% Gel Every girl needs a trust worthy aloe vera gel in her beauty line up and this is a fantastic one! This gel doesn’t have any added color which is why I like it! I use this on my face and my hair! For my face, it helps to hydrate and heal imperfections. I use it in my hair to help hydrate and lock my curl pattern making it a staple in my hair care routine! Neutrogena - Hydro Boost Hydrating Cleansing Gel I have been using this cleanser for months and it has never failed me! It foams wonderfully and has a minimal fragrance! It is reasonably priced and never makes my skin feel striped, which is always a concern with cleansing. The Hydro Boost line is one of my favorites but I am a huge fan of trying new things though, so I am testing out a different cleanser this month! DRUNK ELEPHANT - T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Resurfacing Night Serum I got this in a trial size to test it out because they’re products are so expensive! The packaging is adorable, but it’s what’s inside that counts! I honestly didn’t see a huge difference in my complexion and overall it didn’t wow me. LOVE beauty AND planet - Coconut Water & Mimosa Flower Radical Refresher Body Wash This body wash smells HEAVENLY and the packaging is adorable! However, it doesn’t leave me feeling as hydrated as I should or as other washes have! TRADER JOE'S - Nourish Hyaluronic Moisture Boost Serum This serum was great and inexpensive! It always leaves my face feeling super hydrated and supple! It lasted me a long time which made my really happy!

Worth the hype! Saved my skin!
Hey beauties! I know it’s been a while; I’ve been dealing with a bad breakout on my forehead and had to get new products that would help me. Recently, I’ve been using Fenty skin and only them, but when I started lacking on my consistency of the routine, my breakout appeared! It was crazy and I wish I took pictures to show how good this item “PanOxyl - Acne Creamy Wash Benzoyl Peroxide 4% Daily Control ” is. Let’s get into it 🥰 Panoxyl has been the hype and my new fave word - the rave of social media. It has been circulating mainly on Tik Tok, which I am addicted to lol. I noticed people with extreme, to less severe acne have been using this and it clears their skin up, ok period! After my recent breakout over the week, I decided I HAVE to try it, I couldn’t walk outside with bumps on my forehead anymore. I’m going to discuss the background of it, before going forward with my review on it and how it’s worked. 💗 What is it? Panoxyl is a acne creamy wash that has the main ingredient of Benzoyl Peroxide. I bought one with 4% since my skin is not only sensitive, but has eczema 😭. But I’m a little risky, so I decided to try it but still make sure I got the lowest percent they had at my local Walmart. Benzoyl Peroxide is works to treat, and prevent acne by killing bacteria under the skin: as well as helping the pores shed dead skin, and excess sebum (oil). It has other main ingredients, but this one is KEY, you hear me? 💗 Who can use it? Anyone can sis! Just make sure you’re not pregnant or breastfeeding, if you are refer to a doctor beforehand. If burning occurs, stop immediately and ask your doctor. It says on the product to not use if you have extreme sensitive skin, but for me it doesn’t bother me whatsoever. Keep in mind, everyone’s skin is different. Just because it doesn’t irritate me, doesn’t mean it won’t irritate you. 💗 Where can I use it? Your face, chest, back. Basically, anywhere on your body. Now, let’s talk about my personal thoughts and opinions. When I first started it, it was 2 days ago and I used it only once, at night because that’s when I bought it. It says to use it once until you feel comfortable using it day and night. At this point, my acne was bad bad! I’m talking, I didn’t want to go out the house. When I have a breakout, I avoid wearing make up to further irritate my acne so I had no option of covering it! You’re probably wondering how my skin is now, SIS. My forehead pimples haven’t completely disappeared but they are 10x better than what it was. I’m in awe at how fast acting this product is. It definitely lived up to the hype, and is saving me! I also make sure to put moisturizer on straight after because this product can leave you very dry! The second product in the picture is just for the ✨aesthetic✨ lol. MAKE SURE YOU’RE KEEPING YOUR LIPS HYDRATED IN THIS COLD WEATHER! Let me know if you’ve seen this product circulating, or if you have any thoughts on it. Talk to ya soon baby’s 💕

Week 3 On PanOxyl & Differin
I skipped one week because my face was looking about the same. I have been breaking out a bit on my cheeks and forehead so I hope this purging process ends soon. The PanOxyl also seems to be running out rather quickly so I might substitute it for the PanOxyl - Acne Creamy Wash Benzoyl Peroxide 4% Daily Controljust so I don’t have too many foaming cleansers in my routine. I hope to see results soon.DIFFERIN - DIFFERIN Acne Treatment Gel PanOxyl - Acne Foaming Wash Benzoyl Peroxide 10% Maximum Strength

My Differin Journey (9 weeks in and STRUGGLING)
Hi all, Around the first week of December 2020 I decided to start trying Differin Adapalene Gel to address my skin concerns. As some of my previous posts explain, I’ve struggled badly with oily skin, blackheads, extremely enlarged pores, and occasional acne, most of my teenage years and into my adult life (I’m 26 now). I have tried SO many products to try and help curb my issues (see previous posts for examples), and though they’ve helped a little, I’ve never been fully satisfied with the results... my skin is just stubborn! I decided to swap my retinol for Differin to see if it would target my issues a little bit better and JEEZ has this been a journey so far... So to be completely blunt, I’m discouraged. If you look at the attached photo, the picture with all the acne is me NOW. Yes, RIGHT NOW. The one WITHOUT explosive acne is my BEFORE Differin skin. Okay, now I’ll get into it... So it’s been about 9 weeks since I’ve started on Differin. In the beginning I noticed my skin was starting to feel really sensitive, which it never is. Any other product (Niacinamide, Hyaluronic Acid, etc.) felt like burning when I put it on, which is incredibly strange for me. My skin has been consistently pink ever since. I immediately stopped using any BHA, AHA or any harsh acid while using Differin and made sure to SLATHER on reparative moisturizer to help repair my skin barrier. Basically my skin routine needed to stripped to the bare minimum. Throughout the weeks, my skin flaked and peeled excessively, especially with makeup on. It looked SO dry and awful and felt stingy underneath (still does). Then about 3 weeks in, the purging started. It started off slow and erupted to where it’s at now on February 11, 2021. Purge pimples are so strange compared to my sporadic cystic acne bumps I’m used to getting. Purging shows up in a big breakout cluster of pimples, mostly small (not always), but definitely painful and brutal looking for me. Over the weeks it just got worse and worse. I’m getting pimples all in the same place for the most part — my lower cheek areas. It has been tumultuous and my skin has never looked this terrible in my whole life. I’ve done my research on Differin, and everyone says it is completely normal for your skin to get worse before it gets better (for me, A LOTTTTT worse). I’m hoping this is true because I really want to stick this out — I’ve already gone through the worst of it, might as well wait it out a bit longer. If you’re interested in Differin, just be prepared for what you’re getting into! I’m sure this will all be worth it but wanted to share my experience and help others with the SHOOKness that may or may not happen. I will definitely share updates in the future with hopefully better results! Anyone try Differin before? Was it this hard? Did your purging last this long? Words of encouragement? Thank you!! Do the seasons affect your skin?
With a change in season comes a different temperature, humidity, wind and UV exposure which can all affect changes which the body needs to adapt to. It makes sense that as the weather changes outside your skin will react differently to it. With lower humidity— what we experience during the cold winter months—our skin’s moisture levels can drop drastically and dryness and a dull skin tone can set in. So what can we do? In general skin tends to be dryer in the winter, oilier (or at least less dry) in the summer. Extremes of temperatures and humidity disrupt the surface of the skin and cause changes in the function of the external skin barrier. After you have found a core skin routine that works for you, it is easier to adapt it to how your skin changes throughout the year. In drier seasons like autumn and winter, make a move to a more hydrating cleanser or balm. You will want to focus on hydration since the low-humidity climate during this time of year can dry out skin and the best place to start is with the first step of your skin care routine. Dermatologists also advise to tone less or even discontinue completely. Whether you have dry skin in the winter, oily skin when the humidity sky rockets, or normal skin year-round, the one thing your skin care routine needs is a hydrating moisturizer. Not moisturizing your skin you risk stripping your skin of oh-so important hydration , which causes overproduction of oils and a gross build up of dead skin cells on your face. When you start seeing the advertisements for everything pumpkin 🎃 spice (yum), Now is the time to pack away the lighter formulas and reach for the more emollient products focused on hydration and to find ways to combat visible evidence of any sun damage that may have occurred over the summer. The best part, most of the skin care routine changes you’ll make for the fall will last you through winter as well! Don’t forget your body!! Apply moisturizer within 60 seconds of coming out of the shower and look for ingredients like glycerin, ceramides and hyaluronic acid. 💦 The biggest thing is pay close attention to your skin. It will start to tell you what it needs and just make sure to adjust accordingly 🍁 Some great moisturizers I recommend for the fall and winter. Cetaphil - DermaControl Oil Control Moisturizer SPF 30 is a good one for oily skin. Jumiso - Have A Good Cream Snail & Centella also for normal to oily skin. boscia - Chia Seed Moisture Cream for dry skin PETER THOMAS ROTH - Water Drench Hyaluronic Cloud Cream normal to dry. Happy Fall Y’all 🎃🍁

How to Get Rid of Blackheads: Best Ingredients to Look For!
Blackheads are a skincare occurrence that most of us struggle with, whether you have oily skin or not. Before knowing what ingredients to use to get rid of them, what you need to do is understand what blackheads are in the first place.  What is a blackhead? Blackheads are one of the most common forms of acne. Our pores sometimes get congested with dead skin and sebum. When this gunk comes in contact with the air, it gets oxidised, and turns black, and hence is called a blackhead. While some people are genetically prone to blackheads, and those with oily skin tend to have more, they can also occur due to hormonal changes (like puberty or starting a new hormonal birth control) or from wearing heavy makeup.  Dermatologist-approved Ingredients for blackheads “The good news is that there is a cornucopia of over-the-counter products that contain effective ingredients to exfoliate, soften, and even remove blackheads,” says Allison Britt Kimmins, MD, MPH. Here I did some research about dermatologists to get the lowdown on which ingredients fight them best and some products recommendations. Salicylic acid Salicylic acid, found in many acne products, is a longtime skincare staple for its ability to unclog pores by cleaning out enlarged follicles that fill with sebum and become blackheads.  Because the ingredient can irritate the skin if used too much, it’s best to use it as a targeted treatment instead of all over your face or body. Many people may be sensitive to salicylic acid and be able to use it more than once every few days. If you continue to react to it, discontinue use. Try:PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Gel Exfoliant This Paula’s Choice product has long been a cult-favourite salicylic acid exfoliator. The lightweight formulation absorbs quickly and is formulated at the optimal pH of 3.2 to 3.8 for maximum efficacy. Green tea extract is also present to provide calming and antioxidative properties. Glycolic acid An alpha hydroxy acid derived from sugarcane, gives blackhead-prone skin a fresh start. It goes to work by exfoliating the top skin layer and cleaning out clogged follicles. The benefits of this gentle acid are twofold. By dissolving the upper skin layer, it also triggers the skin cells to repair themselves—therefore creating more collagen. Try:exuviance - Pore Clarifying Cleanser It is soap-free formula and contains AHAs, PHAs, BHAs, suitable for oily and acne-prone skin. Azelaic acid "Azelaic acid is a dicarboxylic acid that helps exfoliate the skin and is synthesized by yeast naturally,"says NYC-based dermatologists Gervaise Gerstner,  MD. It is a multifunctional skincare ingredient that targets blackheads and can also lighten the brown discolouration caused by acne. Try: DERMAdoctor - Photodynamic Therapy Age Spot Eraser & Skin Brightener A revolutionary brightening face treatment Developed with awardwinning, antiaging red light technology Formulated with hydroquinonefree botanical boosters Helps even skin discoloration. Benzoyl Peroxide Like salicylic acid, benzoyl peroxide works as a keratolytic agent, which means it’s able to break down and loosen the dead skin cells on the surface of the skin and down in the pores. In addition to cleaning out pores, benzoyl peroxide fights the bacteria that lead to breakouts. Try:Clean&Clear - Persa-Gel 10 Acne Medication Spot Treatment It can be drying, however, and harsh on sensitive complexions. Spot treat on a small patch of skin first to make sure you don’t react. Witch Hazel Witch hazel, which naturally soothes blackhead-prone skin with anti-inflammatory properties, appears most commonly in toners. If your regimen begins with toner, pass on the drying alcohol–based formulas and opt for water-based products.  Try:THAYERS - Witch Hazel Blemish Clearing Toner A fan-favorite and easily one of the most well-known witch hazel-containing products, this toner is recommended by Zeichner and also contains rose petal water and aloe to help hydrate and calm the skin. "It's important to eliminate oil, scale, salt, and possibly makeup after a workout to prevent these materials from congealing in pores," explains Craig Kraffert, MD, president of Amarte Skin Care. Noted that cleansing with a gentle cleanser (or a mild exfoliant) is best. Although some people may see a dermatologist for their blackheads, and there are also in-office treatments that can help, it’s really worth trying some skincare products with ingredients that can help us get rid of blackheads! Soothing and brightening morning routine
I like to mix up my routine depending on what my skin is needing. This is what I call my soothing and brightening routine as I have a few brightening and deeply hydrating products in this routine. I like to keep my morning routine gentle and hydrating and I use most of my actives in my evening routines (vitamin C is the exception to the rule)! Glossier. - Milky Jelly Cleanser This is my go to gentle and hydrating morning cleanser Pyunkang Yul - Essence Toner This is a very popular Korean essence founded out of a Medicinal clinic and focus on a minimal ingredient list. COSRX - Full Fit Propolis Light Ampoule I love this light and soothing serum, my skin responses very well to bee products The Ordinary - Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate Solution 20% in Vitamin F This is a very effective vitamin c derivative serums. It has brightened my skin and there are none of the stinging side effect of full vitamin c. VERSED - ZERO-G Smoothing Eye Cream This is a gel/cream that is light with mild colour corrective properties Aveeno - Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer SPF 30 My go to moisturizer with spf for days I am mostly inside. I use a very liberal amount but I am never greasy. On days I have time (usually Saturday 😃) I like to double mask with: VERSED - PHOTOS, PLEASE BRIGHTENING TIGHTENING MASK This is a Kaolin clay and turmeric mask that I use on my forehead, nose and chin. It never dries me out and the antioxidant properties are great. And VERSED - LOOK ALIVE Hydrating Plumping Mask This gel mask is so hydrating on my cheeks!

My skin protecting morning routine
I am an avid skincare lover and I love trying out new products. I have dry and acne prone skin which means it has been lots of trial and error to find what works for my seemingly contradictory skin. This trial has led to my interest in skincare so I have developed several routines that work for me depending on the season, how my skin feels and my mood. This is one of my morning routines with products I have used extensively. I call this my hydrating and antioxidant routine and i use this routine year round. Glossier. - Milky Jelly Cleanser This is my favourite morning cleanser as it doesn’t strip my skin. FRUDIA - Pomegranate Nutri-Moisturizing Toner this is a great toner/essence hybrid that is deeply moisturizing and it preps my skin for my next steps. The Ordinary - Argireline Solution 10% i have used several bottles and it is a light serum that helps reduce dynamic lines. THE inkey LIST - Q10 Antioxidant Serum this is a light cream antioxidant that makes my face feel so soft. VERSED - ZERO-G Smoothing Eye Cream I enjoy this light cream as it hydrated my eye area it has a tint and shimmer to lighten the appearance of the area. Aveeno - Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer SPF 30 this has been my go to moisturizer/spf for days I am staying inside. Or On days that I do go out I wear a separate moisturizer and spf such as THE inkey LIST - Turmeric Brightening Moisturizer this is an antioxidant, brightening moisture though it can be thick PAULA'S CHOICE - Youth-Extending Daily Hydrating Fluid I love this sun screen as it is super light and spreadable

New to Retinol
I'm brand new to retinol and decided to try this super gentle one. Today is day one and I am hoping to see a reduction in the hyperpigmentation on my jawline. Will follow up in a month. Have you used this? Do you like it? Any other suggestions for Retinol?CeraVe - Resurfacing Retinol Serum

I have an issue with this toner
When I first purchased this toner, I really loved it. Right off the bat, the milky texture felt hydrating and nourishing. But, as I have grown more familiar with the product, I have realized that is not quite the case. First, I have very sensitive and reactionary skin. Sometimes it feels like I’ll break out in a rash if the wind just happens to blow in the wrong direction. This likely explains the issue that I have but I am nevertheless disappointed. Due to my sensitivity level, I introduce actives VERY slowly and cautiously. It has taken me about a year and a half to work my way up to using the CeraVe - Resurfacing Retinol Serum every other day. It has also taken me about 6 months to work up to using the By Wishtrend - Mandelic Acid 5% Skin Prep Water once or twice a week (on nights that I don’t use the CeraVe). After emptying this product, I realize that this was part of the problem!! For weeks now, I have experienced a moderate to strong tingling sensation when applying the Wishtrend Mandelic Acid and even experienced a similar (but not as strong) sensation with THE inkey LIST - Polyhydroxy Acid (PHA) Gentle Exfoliating Toner which is apparently about as gentle as you can get with chemical exfoliants. I assumed that this was just part of the process for me as I was experimenting with chemical exfoliants for the first time. I hadn’t used either product independently of the FAB toner and since it says “safe for sensitive skin” I never once thought it could be prepping my skin for a stronger reaction. That, however, is what appears to have been happening. When I ran out of the toner, the reactions to the Wishtrend Mandelic acid immediately dissipated. While I still feel a slight tingle for a few seconds, it is only a fraction of the sensation I used to feel. I find this to be incredibly frustrating because I do enjoy other products from FAB (I love the cleanser). My issue is this, FAB’s entire brand seems focused on caring for the health of your skin. Hell, the name is FIRST AID Beauty!! If you are going to sell products that are marketed as “safe for sensitive skin” they should truly be safe for sensitive skin!! I realize that anyone can develop or have a reaction to anything so it is not entirely their fault. Everyone has to test every product for themselves. It is frustrating, though. Anyways, I’ll wrap up my rant now. Thanks for stopping by and congrats if you made it this far!!

Micellar Cleansing Water
Micellar Cleansing Water by Garnier is my #1 in completely removing all my makeup including sunscreen, eyeliner and mascara! What I love about this is that it does Not sting my face. I hate products that have any sort of alcohol/chemicals that irritate my skin. Micellar Water is perfect to use for getting rid of dirt/oil/makeup. 75% of that work gets done even before you start your cleansing, toning, moisturizing routine. I've always been a fan of this product and it works wonders for me. I have been breaking out less ever since I started using Micellar water. Therefore, I give this product my highest rating!

Current Products I'm Using
I have oil/combo skin and been struggling with hormonal acne for a few years now which is mainly around my chin. I have noticed some positive changes but also some negative ones, for example I have more blackheads in areas besides my nose which I never had before. Here are the products I've been using lately. AM Routine I don't cleanse in the morning just splash water on my face and pat dry, then I apply PAULA'S CHOICE - Resist C15 Super Booster after I apply moisturizer e.l.f. - Holy Hydration! Face Cream - Fragrance Free then sunscreen Supergoop! - Play Everyday Lotion SPF 50 With Sunflower Extract PM Routine During the day I don't wear much makeup just some mascara so I just use GARNIER - SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water with Rose Water for my first cleanse, then I go in with PAULA'S CHOICE - Pore Normalizing Cleanser which I am just about out of so I will be using CeraVe - Salicylic Acid Facial Cleanserwhich I haven't tried before but decided to buy it because of all the hype! Than I apply my toner and depending on my skin at the time I will either use PAULA'S CHOICE - Pore-Reducing Toner or I'm from - Rice Toner I have just recently purchased and starting using The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% then I moisturizer with THE inkey LIST - Peptide Moisturizer I use PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator twice a weeks and PAULA'S CHOICE - 1% Retinol Treatment with Peptides + Vitamin C 3 times a week. My skin is still breaking out so I'm gonna try eliminating certain products to see if I can pin point what is causing the breakouts and blackheads. I recently purchased a cleansing brush and I'm gonna start by eliminating the Paulas choice BHA Exfoliator and start using the brush 2 or 3 times a week instead. If that's not the problem then I'm gonna try taking out the Vitamin C. If anyone has any advice or tips I am all ears!!!

I have found that it’s really helped my acne because of the bacteria & towels hold tons of it. * also applying my first product after cleansing to my damp face adds moisture to my face but took some serious getting use to. Lol P. M. Routine double cleanse w/ Neutrogena - Ultra Light Cleansing Oil then follow w/ LA ROCHE-POSAY - Toleriane Purifying Foaming Cleanser *after I use the cleansing oil I will use the AZTEC SECRET - Indian Healing Clay mask mixed w\ water 2x a week tone bliss - Clear Genius Clarifying Toner + Serum exfoliation -I alternate using these every 2-3 days I tend to use one & then the other the next week. * bliss - Clear Genius Clarifying Liquid Peel { this peel you well start to experience some peeling, personally I didn’t start see some until about a week or two into using it. } * MEASURABLE DIFFERENCE - Lactic Acid Skin Renewal Serum ( first week trying this & so far looove it noticeable difference in pores a few minutes after application & skin looks ultra smooth ) off days from acids OLAY - Regenerist Retinol24 Max Night Face Serum { would give higher rate but this serum seems to have an added ingredient to give it some what of a luminous purple affect? Which I’m not fond of. I didn’t notice it on my face but on my jade roller I could visible tell } Then finally to top it all off moisturize w/ OLAY - Regenerist Retinol 24 Max Fragrance-Free Night Hydrating Moisturizer *** I only use this when I use the matching Olay serum *** Aveeno - Calm + Restore Oat Gel Moisturizer * I use this every night regardless of which serums I use. * I layer this on top of the olay one because my face tends to be dry. ☃️❄️☃️❄️

LET'S TALK GEL MOISTURIZERS! 💧
OILY SKIN FRIENDS THIS ONE IS FOR YOU! I never looked back once I introduce gel moisturizers into my routine. I used to have pretty oily skin but now it's closer to combo, most oils are in the t-zone. I spent a lot of time using products & creating a routine that would easy my oil production. Some things worked, some things didn't, such is life but I'm here to share with you why gel moisturizers are the best & rate a few I have personally tried. Here's some reasons why I've consistently kept this type of product in my routine: Non-greasy & lightweight hydration — Most days wearing a cream moisturizer can weigh down on my skin. I can swipe it on and not feel like I need to blot or even worry about checking in the mirror. They're great for oilier skin types because they absorb QUICKLY and DEEPLY! Oil-free formulation — Free of thick oils that can just worsen the situation, this will be comfortable & can even help maintain your oil. As you can see this is definitely great for keeping comfortable hydration especially in those that don't feel good about wearing anything too thick on the skin. This kind of moisturizer is also great for athletes & warmer temperatures, it'll seep into the skin with ease. Most of all, I can't express this enough it's GREAT FOR OILY SKIN! If you want to control oil production I recommend researching what products (serums, creams, mists, etc.) will help. Not just ingredients! Let's start with ratings.... GARNIER - SkinActive Water Rose 24H Moisture Cream I wanted to love this! Honestly it felt like water but it didn't feel like it was doing everything I needed. Felt like I was using more than I normally do with other products. Also, minor but there was product build up around the edges of the pot like it would dry there? I would clean it off but it was something I hadn't seen before. Simple - Water Boost Gel Cream This was okay but the bottle is TINY! I needed to repurchase way too soon. The texture was there, felt thick but smooth on the skin. I really just wish I could get more. GARNIER - SkinActive Rose Water 24H Moisture Gel I like this WAY better than the potted cream. I don't think the rose aspect made that big of a difference though. I couldn't attach fully to this only because it felt how it should but not above & beyond. It was thicker than the cream by a long shot. I love the matted packaging. Overall, it's okay but we deserve better! Neutrogena - Hydro Boost Gel-Cream TO BE CLEAR THIS IS THE EXTRA DRY EDITION! It contains HA (hyaluronic acid) & it's my favorite right now. I have tried both versions and with this I notice the long term hydration! My skin still feels smooth at the end of the day. As always: What works for me may or may not work for you so DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH! Thanks for reading. 🤍

my progress in the span of 3 years
This is my first post pls be gentle I am soff My experience and exposure to skincare was...odd growing up. I came from a poor family and was constantly switching between households. Consistent skincare routines did not exist for me, if we could afford it at all. I also had no idea what was going on with my face or why, just that I was being mocked and berated for it as though it was some sort of lack of hygeine or moral failing on my part. About 3 years ago, I started using a consistent skincare routine with more than just a face wash in the shower. Granted, it was whatever the cheapest face wash I could find at Safeway that week (likely biore or st. ives) and argan oil that I found at Marshall's. I had no idea what ingredients to look for or even what my skin type was. That first pic STILL marked a huge improvement for me and kicked off my desire to learn more to finally rectify this issue that had plagued me for more than a decade. The 2nd pic is from a few months ago. I kinda think I peaked there. I was using Neutrogena - Ultra Gentle Daily Cleanser in the shower. I have oily, sensitive skin (thanks eczema) and it's very gentle, not irritating in the slightest. However, it feels like all it does is clean my face. No real benefit apart from that. I was using pixi - Glow Tonic as a toner which I loved and gave me great results but rent is literally over half my monthly income and that doesn't touch all the other bills I have and at anywhere from $18-$24 a bottle? Well... I'd rather eat tbh. I also got over the "oily skin don't need moisturize hurr durr" mentality and began to use (still do, this jar has lasted me since like July) AVALON ORGANICS - Intense Defense, With Vitamin C, Oil-Free Moisturizer . Works fine, nice and light, absorbs pretty quickly, and I like the smell. I'd like something that qualifies as a night mask instead tho, just because my entire routine is done exclusively at night with extra moisturizer or treatments as necessary. 3rd pic is from about a month ago. I've changed up the roster a few times. I'm really feeling FORMULA 10.0.6 - One Deep Attraction Daily Foaming Face Wash as I used it years ago, liked it then for the suds and the actives, but haven't gotten much in the way of results. I might try the FORMULA 10.0.6 - Three Times Sublime 3-in-1 Blackhead Wash + Scrub + Maskand FORMULA 10.0.6 - P.M. Perfectorinstead of the moisturizer I use as mentioned above. I'm also alternating between Cos De BAHA - BHA Salicylic Acid 2% Exfoliant Liquid 4oz with Niacinamide Acne Spot Treatment + Redness Relief + Pore Minimizer + Pore Cleaner and The Ordinary - Azelaic Acid Suspension 10% . The serum makes my skin incredibly soft and the suspension helps a bunch with oil control. If y'all have any comments, questions, or suggestions regarding my routine, I'd love to hear what y'all have to say!

My go to for the last 3 months
Okay so I can’t really say 3mos as this is only my week 2 of this routine!!!! MORNING‼️ I wash with Neutrogena - Ultra Gentle Daily Cleanser so far it’s been okay, I guess u get what u pay for but with that being said my skin is soooooooo sensitive that literally before finding Cherie would mostly just wash my face with a rag and 💦 ❤️I then go back in with GARNIER - SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water with Rose Water okay so I love this stuff, it don’t make my face feel nasty, I literally use a cotton pad and just wipe away what my first cleanser didn’t get!!!! ❤️I also take my Apostrophe - Spironolactone I’m supposed to take this daily but due to health issues I only take this every other day just to maintain my potassium levels, I’ve only been on this for 2wks and I have noticed a BIG CHANGE in my skin🙌🏽 ❤️I then top it off with Cetaphil - Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion it definitely drenches your face with moisture BUT it makes me oily🚱 NIGHTIME ROUTINE‼️ ❤️I follow all the same steps above but I add in my Apostrophe - Topical Formula So far I’m in love with this, I’m already seeing changes in my skin and some of my scarring, I would definitely recommend this product/company🗣🗣🗣If u can’t afford to see a dermatologist or your insurance doesn’t cover it, this process is pretty cool, u literally do everything over the computer💻 or your phone📲your dermatologist will make up a regimen and it’s sent to u via mail🙌🏽With COVID in our lives this was a game changer❤️ Of course after my topical I once again moisturize my skin with Cetaphil - Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion

My pregnancy skincare routine 🤰
So I finally found a routine that is all pregnancy safe that works well for my super dry skin! First if I’m wearing makeup, I use FARMACY - Green Clean Makeup Meltaway Cleansing Balm and my electric brush. I skip this in the morning since it’s just to remove my makeup. Next I use Neutrogena - Ultra Gentle Hydrating Cleanser and I was really surprised that this product worked well with my skin because my skin is really sensitive. After applying and rubbing in, I use the little pink exfoliator pictured to get rid of all the dead dry skin left behind. I use the exfoliator 3-4x a week at night time. After that I use the Milk MAKEUP - Matcha Toner I like this but I would rather it not be in a tube that I have to apply right to my skin but other toners usually cause irritation for me and this so far hasn’t. And last I use H2O+ - Hydration Sensitive Gel Cream Moisturizer and I really really love this moisturizer. I don’t think I’ll ever use another moisturizer again. It does sit on my skin for a little while after applying but for someone with really dry skin like mine I really don’t mind it. And it has helped so much with my redness. I plan to still use all of these products once I’m done being pregnant but I can’t wait to be able to add back in my drunk elephant framboos and retinol!!

Contact dermatitis BE GONE!!
This started a couple of weeks ago when I accidentally used too much of The Ordinary - Salicylic Acid 2% Solution and rubbed it down into my neck. I have no doubt that this product works for some people. My skin, however, is much too sensitive and irritable. (I’m allergic to everything so take my thoughts on products like this with a grain of salt.) The healing process has been difficult. I do my best not to touch my neck during the day but I have a tendency to scratch in my sleep. I have had many days where my skin improves throughout the day, I’ll go to sleep, and then wake up itchy and 10x more irritated and inflamed than I was the previous day. I think I have finally the right combo of products to get this irritation knocked out and I’m not going to lie, good ol’ Benadryl before bed has helped more than any topical product. Regarding topical products for conditions like this, I will say that while I normally have no trouble with HONEST - Hydrogel Cream , the itchiest mornings seemed to be when I used this product before bed. Alternatively, I seem to have had much better tolerance of COSRX - Ultimate Nourishing Rice Overnight Spa Mask during this flare up when applying before bed. Other products that I am using that seem to help soothe the itch and irritation: FIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair Wild Oat Hydrating Toner Krave - Great Barrier Relief Neutrogena - Ultra Gentle Hydrating Cleanser

Oil Cleansing Helps Oil Plugs??
Oil Cleansing Helps Oil Plugs??
I saw this idea on YouTube from The Golden Rx (but I’ve also seen quite a few people on TikTok mention this video there). She’s an Esthetician and Skincare YouTuber! I really enjoy her videos. She has a video called “Esthetician Approved: Oil Cleansing Guide for All Skin Types | Acne, Oily, Dry Combo” that goes into detail about oil cleansing and products based on your skin type. In it, she recommends how to get the rid of the things that looks like blackheads by using an oil! . Info from her video: After 3-5 minutes of messaging your facial oil after your first step cleanser, sometimes 10-15 minutes, you start to feel gritty oil plugs come out. They’re actually solid blocks of sebum that are stuck in your pores. Black/brown color is more likely sebaceous filaments. When your pores are blocked and they pop out, they resemble blackheads so it’s good to get them out! Purging can happen with oil cleansing, but not a lot. . Directions/Steps from her video: Use a balm or oil to remove makeup/SPF, etc. for 60 seconds. Next, go in with an oil and use solid, gentle pressure all over the face. This could be a relaxing form of self-care after a long day and to take time for yourself and give your face a message and release the tension that has built up throughout the day! Work from the inside from the outside to the face. Oil plugs don’t always come out, it’s a maybe thing! Use a warm cleansing cloth to remove. . Products needed: A balm or oil to remove makeup (she has recommendations in her video based on your skin type) and an oil for a second cleanse (she used the DHC Deep Cleansing Oil). . How often: She recommends once a week or so because skincare should be fun and not something that’s a long process everyday. Also, it’s fun to see what comes out after awhile! . My experience: I used the CLINIQUE - Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm as my first step and the ACURE - Seriously Soothing Blue Tansy Night Oil as my oil of choice to rub in for 20 minutes. This was my first time trying it and didn’t have any noticeable plugs come out that I felt, but my cheeks didn’t have as many dark spots on them! I took picture, but they weren’t good quality and you couldn’t really see them well. My skin also feels more smooth and even! My hands did cramp some after 5 minutes, but I pushed through it and it was relaxing! I do think I will continue doing this once a week and see if it further helps my skin! I might try a different oil than and see if that works any better.

HELP! Jaw and chin acne
HELP! Jaw and chin acne
Help me please!! I am out of ideas and need some guidance! I have always had oily/combination skin. For the last year I have had little congested pores all over my chin, but they didn’t turn into acne. In the last 2 months, I have developed acne all over my chin and jawline. I have been exfoliating a few times a week for the chin congestion, recommended 6 months ago after a facial, with a scrub once a week and enzyme peel once a week. In the AM i cleanse with Cetaphil - Gentle Skin Cleanser, use witch hazel toner, insta natural - Vitamin C Serum and moisturize with ACURE - Radically Rejuvenating SPF 30 Day Cream. In the PM I do double cleansing using DHC - Deep Cleansing Oil followed by either Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser or Willa Beauty clear skin exfoliating scrub. I use eb5 anti aging toner, alternate days to use CeraVe - Skin Renewing Retinol Cream Serum, and moisturize with MINERAL FUSION - Nighttime Recovery Face Cream. Most of those products I have been using for a while, the new ones since March are the double cleansing method (been doing that for 5 months, first three months were amazing!), the retinol cream, and the Vitamin C Serum. Could a retinol increase breakouts? I use it maybe twice a week at this point because I’m worried it is making things worse. I recently got SheaMoisture - African Black Soap Clarifying Mud Maskand have been using that once a week. Any recommendations would be so appreciated! I’ve done prescription products in college with little to no results, so I’m hesitant to go that route again.

🏆Never lose your fight with acnes
🏆Never lose your fight with acnes
Hey sisters🥰!!! If everything gets shutdown during COVID-19, one of the few things that should never be affected is your addiction to skin care. My life-long enemy acne never knows how to self-quarantine and spare a little stability to my skin. I mean...who's undefeatable in front of the brutal acnes🤭? But you're lucky enough - in our incredibly loving Cherie community, your skin problem is never a problem because of our super helpful beauty experts🤩!!! @Paola29suffered from acnes because of hormonal imbalances. Weeks ago, they made a post on Cherie and asked for skincare advice. Believe it or not, within a week, they got so many useful tips on acne treatment - read the golden advice below word by word! @mira.nichole "I love using products like The Ordinary Salicylic Acid 2% Masque and any of the Sweet Chef Serum Shots to help my skin out. I definitely recommend seeing a dermatologist though if you haven’t already, since I also use a prescription cream called Aczone (Dapsone) which I found has helped out a ton." @skincarebytate "I would recommend using the CeraVe foaming cleanser and daily moisturizer. The CeraVe foaming cleanser works wonders for oily skin. Also you have to moisturize! I would also recommend steering clear of essential oils as they can cause irritation. The ordinary is great though! so keep using their products! Also don’t forget to exfoliate. I would reccomend chemical exfoliants rather than scrubs :)💗 " @al0na.c "The holy grail acne treatment that ended up working for me (finally @ 26 years old!) was the Roche-Posay Effaclar 3 step acne system, but especially the Effaclar Duo Cream. It really works very fast at clearing up breakouts and soothes the redness of the pimples." @Paola29, hope now you have a better idea of removing acnes - please keep us updated 💗! Girls, if you have other advice, don't hesitate to leave your comments below <3

How I Get Rid of Pimple Marks in 3 Weeks!
How I Get Rid of Pimple Marks in 3 Weeks!
I started having acne breakouts back in October 2019 and I had no idea what was causing it. Pimples and dark spots were always there for about 6 to 7 months, I had no idea what products to use so basically I just lived with it, hoping they will all magically disappear one day.   Before I get into sharing with you guys how I got rid some the dark spots and actual acne as seen on the images on this post, let me give a back story—I grew up with 0 skin problems. Yes, you read that right, I didn’t go through that awkward teenage phase. Thus, I grew up having no knowledge about skincare.   It all started back in 2017 when I visited Seoul Korea during winter time—I did not have any skincare routine, and I would literally just wash my face with the Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser and that’s about it. I literally had no idea which moisturizer is good for my skin, even more so what serums are for, or even what face mask would suit my skin type.   After 2 months of getting back from Korea, my skin suddenly started to feel dry, and that’s also when I started getting acne from time to time. I realized from there on that my skin type is normal to dry. Given that huge self-skin revelation, I started simple by incorporating the Nivea Soft Moisturizing Crème to my skincare routine and let me tell you that I have been using it daily, every day and night ever since! I promise you that it is lightweight and super moisturizing on the skin, and it won’t mess up with your makeup throughout the day.   Every now and then, I have been experimenting with other skincare products but I keep on ending up with sticking to my simple 2-step skincare routine. Fast forward to what has been happening to my skin lately, I realized that I had to try and look for something that would really work for me. After doing proper research and watching endless YouTube reviews, I finally found 3 products that worked best for my skin problems: 1.    Nivea MicellAIR Skin Breathe Acne Clear Micellar Water 3-in-1 Caring Cleanser 2.    Hada Labo Goko Jyun Hydrating Lotion 3.    Snail Truecica Miracle Repair Serum   I start off by cleansing my face with Cetaphil, pat my skin dry, then pour the Nivea Micellar Water onto a clean cotton pad and gently wipe it on my face. I usually consume 2-3 pads of cotton to make sure I get rid of all the excess dirt and makeup residue on my skin. After this step, I apply the Hada Labo Hydrating Lotion with the use of my finger tips to the drier areas of my skin and then let it dry for a few seconds before I apply the Snail Truecia Miracle Repair Serum on areas where I have dark spots. I finish off my skincare routine with the Nivea moisturizer and apply it all over my face.     After adding these 3 products to my skincare routine, I could definitely say that I had way less acne appearing on my skin, and that my dark spots are now getting lighter. Would I recommend these to anyone? 100% yes!

SAVE MY SKIN!!!
I’m 18 and my breakouts started happening when i used this one moisturizer. I stopped but it left a bunch of acne marks and continued multiple zits. I then used this serum for the acne but it also made my face break out. I stared researching skin care routines and started using Paulas Choice. Right now I only use a cleanser, toner, exfoliate (2 days a week), and then my morning sunscreen/night moisturizer that’s CereVe. I’ve been using this routine for about a month and i still don’t see a huge difference or clear skin. Morning Skincare Routine: Round 2
Morning Skincare Routine: Round 2
Hi! I am very proud of my skincare journey and I wanted to share it all with you. This is my 2nd attempt at a morning routine. My first attempt was not posted but I will talk about it now. Round 1: CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser I gave this 4 stars because I loved how clear my skin was when using this product however, it made my skin extremely oily to the point where I would not use any moisturizers with the product. I wanted to try the normal to oily skin foaming wash but it’s sold out everywhere I go. Anyone use the foaming wash with success? Round 2: Cetaphil - Daily Facial Cleanser I started this cleanser after round 1 because it was the next best thing I could find and I absolutely love it. I love the soapy feel and how it doesn’t strip my skin of its natural oils but it gets rid of all the bad residue. 5 stars love how it clears my skin of imperfections. Aquaphor - Healing Ointment Skin Protectant My mom gave me this for my seriously chapped lips because my anxiety causes me to pick at the skin. I started using this twice a day and my lips have never felt so hydrated. The bottle says it’s for babies but I like how gentle it is on my skin. tarte - Sugar Rush No Bullzit Acne Spot Treatment Just got this not too long ago. It’s not bad. I like how it’s not a cream and it drys very quickly. It gets the job done and reduces my pimples little by little. However I did like my old clean and clear spot treatment a little more. Still trying new products for this one but I approve for now. #Anew clinical - Line eraser eye treatment[products]# I haven’t rated this one yet because I just started using it but it seems to help with the wrinkles around my eyes. We’ll see how it goes. Fingers crossed! CeraVe - AM Facial Moisturizing Lotion SPF 30 I have fallen in love with CeraVe and I enjoy having a moisturizer with SPF in it because I burn very easily and I like the satisfaction of protecting my skin every day. I like it because it’s light for sunscreen but it’s a bit heavier than I would have hoped for. The other thing that I’m not the biggest fan of is it makes my face look a bit flakey because it takes the dead skin off. I am probably doing something wrong on that end but again I just started using this so hopefully I can get it to work better. If you have any suggestions or tips let me know! Later I’ll do my night time routine which is very similar but includes one product I absolutely love and substitutes another. Thanks for reading!! 😊💕
