GURWM: Remove Makeup, No Acne Next Day✨

GURWM: Remove Makeup, No Acne Next Day✨

I love a full face, taking it off is always a completely different story. This is my current routine for no breakouts the following day! I always start with: GARNIER - SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water with Rose Water
I like to get as much eye makeup as possible off with this gentler cleansing water. It’s very light and gets the job done. I also get any lipstick or gloss I had on as well. Next: THE FACE SHOP - Rice Water Bright, Light Cleansing Oil
This is my oil cleansing step. I love this oil and have done a review on it so I won’t go into too much detail. Being able to take to pumps and get the heavy duty makeup off my face is so satisfying. I then rinse my face off then use my GARNIER - SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water with Rose Water
again... then rinse that off. Next : PACIfICA - Rose Kombucha Flower Powered Face Wash
I love how this leaves my face. It so gentle and calming and gets any heavy makeup I leave on as well. I then follow again with my GARNIER - SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water with Rose Water
Next: CeraVe - Renewing SA Cleanser For Normal Skin
Even though my skin is combo I find this to be very beneficial for my skin. I only use this twice a week in a similar routine to this. Since it’s a wash off treatment it’s not as strong as a a mask or serum. Next: PAULA'S CHOICE - Enriched Calming Toner
I use this toner every night. It’s literally amazing on my skin. It leaves my dryer cheeks very hydrated and nourished. It also gets any oils and left over dirt (as shown). Next: The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution
This is my 2/3 night to use this toner for the week. It can be drying but I find using it in this routine is very beneficial. It exfoliates the top layer of my skin leaving it refreshed and ready for the next step. Next: The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%
Making sure this sits in my pores is very important. Not only controlling oil but used with the Glycolic Acid it helps my acne tremendously. I just pat this in my skin and rubbing a little in the area I feel my pores are huge. (The dropper does not touch my skin) SKINCEUTICALS - A.G.E. Eye Complex for Dark Circles
This is my HG fr dark circle treatment. I have seen amazing results with this cream. Yet, since I use the Farmacy Cherry Eye Cream during the day I only use this at night. Last: nooni - Applebutter Lip Mask
I LOVE this lip mask. I use it sometimes twice a day. It leaves my lips so soft and smooth. It doesn’t have a taste or much of a smell (which is extremely important to me) I use disinfecting wipes to clean any tool I use in another product after every use!

Holy grail of Salicylic acid/LHA washes
I’ll get straight to the point: $15 and I’ve still been on the same bottle for nearly two months. When a skin guru says to use a “dime size,” yes, it’s tempting to make its waaaaaay more than that. But imo, with this wash, less is truly better. This La Roche Posay cleanser is a 6.8oz bottle. If you’re researching this specific product, odds are you have tried or want to try CeraVe - Renewing SA Cleanser For Normal Skinbut can’t find it in stock anywhere (thanks Hyram lol). Sure, Cerave has more product for around $9. But notice that there’s no percentage of salicylic acid listed on it? Products containing 0.5% or greater of SA are required to list this on their packaging (in the U.S. at least). That combined with the fact that SA is over half way down in the ingredient list, we can assume the product is greatly diluted and not as effective of a SA compared to La Roche Posay. This is not something to use as a first step if you have make up on already. I prefer to use it as a second step in a double cleanser with my THE FACE SHOP - Rice Water Bright, Light Cleansing Oil. Being gel based, it does have a light foaming effect to it. I massage into the skin for about 1 minutes then rinse. Follow with your preferred moisturizer (nothing with SA so you don’t double medicate!) then SPF (if it’s daytime). imo, best oil cleaner, hands down
Ok so not only does this break down make up 100%, but you’ll notice any loose or peeling flakes of skin pill up without any effort at all. As someone prescribed topical tretinoin, gentle exfoliation so I don’t look like I’m shedding is a big plus! I use this as first step in a double cleanse, so I can’t speak to if it leaves behind any residue since I do wash it off after. But this breaks down foundation & eye makeup (even water proof) with zero effort! [the brand also carries a matching face cream wash in a double set on amazon but I’ve yet to try those two together] CosDNA profile with ingredient breakdown list: http://cosdna.com/eng/cosmetic_51be515516.html THE FACE SHOP - Rice Water Bright, Light Cleansing Oil

Hi All, I have been into skincare forever. Im only 29, not 30 yet 🤣, but skincare is my hobby. Eye Cream 3 Months Progress
SKINCEUTICALS - A.G.E. Eye Complex for Dark Circles Progress from June 29 to September 29. I’ve tried every eye cream and serum on the planet at various price points. Nothing worked to treat the creases under my eyes or the under eye circles I’d been fighting with most of my adult life. When my dermatologist recommended SkinCeuticals A.G.E. Eye complex I kind of scoffed thinking here’s another expensive moisturizer! Honestly though, I was blown away. Within the first week my under eye circles noticeably diminished. But the real magic started to happen after the first month. I have very defined creases under my eyes that have been there as long as I can remember. For the first time ever, they’ve started to diminish. By month 3, under eye circles are a thing of the past and the creases have shorted by at least 50% and are much shallower. I’ve also seen improvements to some fine lines around my eye as well as a reduction in pores on my cheeks where I apply this cream. Overall, this eye cream is worth every penny in terms of getting the job done! It has a luxurious feel to it and spreads easily with a soft finish. I’ve incorporated this into my night routine and have been very successful using it once per day.

Moisture Based Routine for Dry Skin 💨
So I have combo with oily t-zone. My cheeks and mouth area tends to lean to the dryer side especially when I use my Differin Gel or Salicylic Acid treatment at night. So in order o replenish moisture to my skin I used moisture based products. (In Order of Routine) CeraVe - Hydrating Face Cleanser For Normal To Dry Skin this cleanser is gentle and leaves a very nice moistures clean effect. I use a full pump on my wet skin & work it in for 45 sec- 1 min. It’s has ceramides, hyaluronic acid, & CeraVe patented MVE Technology. All of these ingredients promote moisture. It’s also non-comedogenic, non-irritating & fragrance free Kiehl's - Cucumber Herbal Alcohol-Free Toner i love this toner. It’s marketed for sensitive skin & it’s alcohol free. The only thing that’s a negative for me is the Blue 1 fragrance (known irritating dye) , but it doesn’t irritate my skin as much as if it was in a moisturizer. (I ran out of my Kiehl's - Calendula Herbal Extract Alcohol Free Toner 😕) KORRES - H2Rose Hydrating Face Mist this is my favorite multi use spray! It has rose damascena flower water (antioxidant), hyaluronic acid, organs blossom flower water, & aloe Vera. It’s high in Vitamin C & you can even set your makeup with it. It has no silicones or dyes. The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 ** I only use this when I feel my skin is extra dry or I use a mask that left my skin feeling dry.** I use it while my facial mist is still damp for maximum absorption Seoul Ceuticals - 20% Vitamin C Hyaluronic Acid Serum favorite Vitamin C serum. (I have a previous post about this) The Ordinary - Alpha Arbutin 2% + HA great for my dark spots and follows 15-20 mins after my Vitamin C serum. (I have a previous post about this to) DUFT & DOFT - Salmon Vgene Hydro Active Eye Cream this is one of my gentle eye cream that is very non irritating (I have a previous post about this) FENTY SKIN - Hydra Vizor Invisible Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 30 Sunscreen I said how heavy this was in a previous post, but I find it to be perfect for when my skin is extra dry. Always use SPF during the day nooni - Applebutter Lip Mask I love this lip mask more than Laneige . I use this day and night and my lips stay moisturized all day !

Better than laneige lip mask ?
I love finding different products to put into my skin care routine & lately I’ve been into K-Beauty! I’ve also been getting into lip care & find myself trying all kinds of lip mask & glosses. nooni - Applebutter Lip Mask I stumbled upon this on amazon & got it during a lightening deal. It was originally $20 but I got it for $10! - 1st impression: It doesn’t have a smell. It’s really light weight It came with a nice little applicator I can’t stop rubbing my lips together It has AHA, shea butter, & vitamin A,C, & E. I would definitely recommend buying it and my lips feel softer after one day of use 💕

CeraVe SA Cleanser (How I Used For Results)✨✨
I bought this cleanser about a month ago now. I was skeptical but being drugstore friendly (affordable) I wanted to try it! This Cleanser: CeraVe - Salicylic Acid Facial Cleanser Highlights: ✨SA=Salicylic Acid: BHA CREW ! This is a HG ingredient for treating acne! Its made from willow bark (bark from willow trees used in medicine since forever) and has many healing properties. This ingredient is “oil-soluble”, which means it’ll penetrate your skin lipid barrier (sorry I love science). This penetrates your skin and absorbs oil & dirt, as wells as, exfoliates. ✨Fragrence free: for my sensitive skin lovelies ✨Vitamin D: great for age prevention, antimicrobial, antibiotic, & anti—inflammatory (all great for acne) ✨Non-Comedogenic: doesn’t clog pores. How I use: Having combo skin, my oily zones loved this BUT my dryer cheek areas was dryer than the Sahara desert! This product works, so to find a way to make it effective all over my face, I decided to double cleanse, but with another cleanser. Before going in with this cleanser, I use either: CeraVe - Hydrating Face Cleanser For Normal To Dry Skin OR NOW PLANT APOTHECARY - Wash Your Face Certified Organic Aloe Face Wash This tend to leave my skin more hydrated than other cleansers and prep my skin with anti-inflammatory ingredients (plus it gets the dirts and oils amazingly) I then follow with this cleanser! I let this cleanser sit on my face similar to a mask for 30-60 secs! I find that SA in a cleanser is kind of diluted (as wash off products are no where as strong as topical) so this is very helpful! I then follow with a hydrating toner PAULA'S CHOICE - Enriched Calming Toner Is my go to at night! I treat my acne at night and I’m with so many harsh ingredients this is the PERFECT skin balancer 🥰 Follow with the rest of my routine.

TONER HIT OR MISS?!
In my skin care regimen toner is a must. I believe it’s an essential step. I have combination skin and can tend to be dry in my T Zone. I can experience redness, and some texture on my cheeks and my skin can be dehydrated. There’s specific toner for all skin types. There are many to choose from that can benefit you. Some people believe it doesn’t do you much for your skin and it’s pointless to use toner, I believe it serves a purpose. After cleansing using toner can be essential to balance out the pH of your skin. Using the toner can ensure you will protect your barrier of your skin. Also many times you may think that you have cleansed all your makeup off and you actually haven’t. When using a toner you would be surprised how much excess makeup or dirt comes off on the cotton pad when you use it. I like to make sure I get off all that debris before applying any serums and moisturizers.  I love the toner by Paulas Choice. Specifically the enriched calming toner. This toner helps infuse moisture into your skin while incorporating anti aging antioxidants. It minimizes dullness and brightens your complexion. It contains Vitamin E and Primrose which are very soothing for my redness. You get 6.4 oz bottle which is pretty large for $21. I will take a couple of drops on a cotton round and press lightly all over and also swipe areas to ensure all my makeup has come off. The texture is thin and milky and it seeps into your  skin effortlessly.  There’s different types of toners I recommend. I would always stay away from any toner that contains alcohol, for this will be very drying and not beneficial. If you have acne prone skin or oily, toning can be very helpful to infuse AHA’s or BHA’s which will help exfoliate dead skin cells and minimize the appearance of larger pores. For dry , dehydrated skin there are many hydrating , nourishing toners that contain hyaluronic acid and will help your skin hold moisture. The overall feel and look of your skin will benefit from using a good toner daily. If you invest in a toner with the right ingredients your skin will thank you and it makes using toner well worth it.

What’s new, what stayed, and what left! 2020🍾
What Stayed🍾 Cooluli Skincare Fridge: Cooluli - Classic 4 Liter Small Mini Fridge I adore my little fridge! It feels so good to have chilled serums, especially in the morning! I love it so much that I’m thinking I’m going to get a bigger one so I can add more products in! Truly a must have for a skincare lover! Also, the fridge can warm up products too! Tokyo Milk TOKYOMILK - Let Them Eat Cake Lip Balm I have such dry lips, and this is the only balm that actually save them! I got gifted one of their balms while I was in the hospital after surgery, and this completely fixed my dry lips! It truly passed such a big test. Native NATIVE - Travel Sample Pack For YEARS I wanted a natural deodorant that worked. I tried al lathe main brands and didn’t like any of them. At one point I even resorted to trying and make my own!! This is the answer! I will do a personal review soon, but this is the best deodorant I’ve ever tried natural or not! Billie billie - Billie Razor Billie is such an important company! They said no to the pink tax and yes to people decided when and if they want to grow their body hair! If you haven’t seen their commercial you really should, it was beautifully done! 🤩 The only complaint is that I wish I could make the razor shipments more spaced out than they offer, but I can always manually do that. Just a matter of remembering! What’s New🍾 The Ordinary The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution I FINALLY got these products! I will not lie, they kinda scare me, I am afraid of using them wrong, but so far I haven’t and my skin LOVES it! There are so many great reviews on these products that go into the science of it all, so definitely go check out what others are saying! Finch Berry FINCH BERRY - Year of Soap Set If you have not checked out my monthly soap updates you absolutely should! I have loved doing this series so much! These soaps smell so amazing and look good enough to eat!!! The comments I get saying that people want to taste them always make me laugh, because I feel the exact same way! They are great vegan soaps that I love reviewing! Flamingo flamingo - flamingo Daily Moisturizing Lotion Cherie sent me some Flamingo products and I am OBSESSED! Between you and me I hate lotion ing my body. I know! What kind of skin care person am I?! 🤭 These products feel so incredible though, that I want to! What left🍾 Avon I do not have anyone to buy from in my town, and the products are wildly expensive for what you get! You can find better deals on similar or better things through Cherie!

#nomorepigmentation
Let’s first start with a major component in “preventing” pigmentation which is sunscreen. It prevents photo damage that leads to brown spots and post- inflammatory hyperpigmentation. My absolute favorite sunscreen and the one I have been using personally for 10 years is elta md SKINCARE - UV Clear Broad Spectrum SPF 46 Retinoids- They work by increasing the rate of cell turnover. It helps to fade dark spots, acne marks, melasma, sun spots, and liver spots. Just be careful since retinoids can also cause irritation and redness, you don’t want to cause any more pigmentation to your skin. A good over the counter retinoid is DIFFERIN - 0.1% Adapalene Acne Treatment Gel Pump which once used to be a prescription, is now available over the counter. Glycolic acid- A popular ingredient used in many skincare products because it works so well at reducing discoloration, getting rid of dead skin cells, and creating new skin cells. It keeps pores clean and reduces hyperpigmentation. A favorite, super affordable, and one I also use personally is The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution Be careful because it may not be suitable for all especially sensitive and darker skin types. Azelaic acid- Believed to work just as good as hydroquinone. It speeds up cell turnover and reduces inflammation. A great acid for all skin types and even safe to use during pregnancy. A great option is PAULA'S CHOICE - 10% Azelaic Acid Booster I love adding a drop or two to my moisturizer. Vitamin c- A holy grail ingredient for many and myself. A vital component of any skincare routine. Vitamin C works a lot like retinol, inhibiting the production of melanin. Not only does it lighten dark spots, it helps to brighten your complexion. Vitamin C helps to prevent hyperpigmentation, and is most helpful when used in the AM. My absolute favorite hands down is SKINCEUTICALS - C E Ferulic With 15% L-Ascorbic Acid Vitamin C Serum I have yet to find me a better vitamin c serum. Kojic acid- This also like retinol and vitamin c reduces the production of melanin. This ingredient is also a favorite in products because of how well it works to even skin tone, treat acne and acne marks. A favorite product SKINCEUTICALS - Phyto + Hydrating Botanical Serum With Kojic Acid Alpha Arbutin- it works by decreasing the activity of melanocytes. Alpha Arbutin is known to safely and visibly brighten skin and fade pigmentation. It reduces melanin formation, improves appearance of age spots, freckles, melasma, and post inflammatory pigmentation. An amazing and affordable product is THE inkey LIST - Alpha Arbutin Brightening Serum It is a great simple formulation, and super affordable. Incorporate one or more of these ingredients into your skincare routine to achieve great results in reducing pigmentation

First skin care routine ever...
I was the naturalist, I made my own face wash for over 5 years (honey, coconut oil, tea tree oil, apple cider vinegar) and didn't mind it... but I'm rounding my mid 30's now and really wanted something to help slow down the formation of wrinkles. I decided to start where most people do, with products from "the ordinary". They're cheap and there's so many to try! I bought The Ordinary - ''Buffet'' The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% and The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 as per reccomendation from the DECIEM specialists, and friends, and started using one each morning, in rotation. After a few weeks I added a moisturizer PAULA'S CHOICE - Probiotic Nutrient Moisturizerand a sunscreen PAULA'S CHOICE - Youth-extending Daily Hydrating Fluid SPF 50 because my skin was feeling and looking parched. I actually had worse texture and wrinkles! I noticed right away on the days I used buffet at night I would have more pronounced closed comodones. So after 4 weeks I stopped using this product. Right away I noticed improved skin colour with hyaluronic acid, so thought this might be a keeper, but I noticed my skin was getting drier and more wrinkly because of it, rather than plump, even after adding a moisturizer and sunscreen. A big indicator was my lips that were dry and peeling every day for those weeks. Finally I didn't really see much improvement with the Niacinamide. Overall I kept with these products (minus buffet) for over 2 months, and saw minimal improvement, many more blackheads on my face, and closed comodones that weren't going away. The real difference was when I stopped using these products just a few days ago and switched to PAULA'S CHOICE - Resist C15 Super Boosterin the morning, and PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator every other night (along with the same moisturizer and spf in the day) The closed comodones? Almost gone! And no new blackheads. Also my lips are back to their usual plump self. I think the buildup of too many products on my skin was causing it to actually become more clogged, with products that are supposed to be unclogging. I'll keep you updated on my beauty routine, as I've ordered 2 different moisturizers for day and night... but for now this is where I've switched to.

The Ordinary Empties and final thoughts!
I believe it’s been almost 10 months of me using The Ordinary products and wow! I can’t believe so much time has passed! These 3 products are the very first products I ever bought to try and here’s what I think! The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% This serum I would buy again and again. And I do! I’m on my 3rd bottle! Because I usually wear glasses, my nose gets really really oily under the nose pieces which causes them to slide around my face A LOT. After using this serum, I’ve noticed that I really don’t get oily in that spot anymore thank god! My T zone is balanced and because of my oil production going down, I’ve also noticed my pores around my nose have shrunk dramatically. The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 This one I’m really on the fence about. I have definitely seen improvement in my face in terms of “wrinkles” which really were just a way of my face telling me I needed more moisture! However, the formula is soooo tacky that when I try to use it during the day it makes my sunscreen pill no matter how long I wait for it to settle in. Even though I hate the tackiness, I still bought a 2nd bottle! The Ordinary - Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG There’s nothing wrong with this product. I just feel like it didn’t do much for me! I got it to help with my dark under eyes and puffiness but I don’t think it did much. If it did do anything, it was too gradual of a change for me to notice. Also, does anyone know what all this buildup is around the cap??? I guess we will see how long it takes me to realize it did help and I run to get a new bottle! For now, I think one bottle of this was enough for me.

Help!!!!! Problems with Cerave SA Cleanser
Hii! I’ve been using the CeraVe - Renewing SA Cleanser For Normal Skinfor about a month now. I use it every other day at night before I go to bed. I’ve been realizing this cleanser gives me under the skin pimples, but has made my skin more even and has minimized my pores greatly. It has also got rid of most of the texture of small colorless bumps on my forehead and chin. I already had/have acne so I figured this was just the purging period, but I’ve been using this product for a month and want to stop waking up with a new pimple every time I use it ): The pimples that appear are usually in the same spots, and sometimes even an old pimple will resurface. Please help explain to me why this is happening and if I should discontinue use! *** The rest of my routine includes: CeraVe - Hydrating Face Cleanser For Normal To Dry Skin every morning and nights i dont use the sa cleaner CeraVe - PM Facial Moisturizing Lotionmorning and night ——————- I cannot use many fragrances or chemicals as it damages my skin more than anything, thats why my skincare routine is so short and limited.

I did this for a week and saw a huge change
I legit just drank 4L or 1 gallon of water a day roughly, drank a cup of water before I had coffee and just drank more water because I went from drinking like maybe 1/2L-1L a day to 4 and it made a huge difference!!!! While drinking water I’ve been using in the morning Cetaphil - Gentle Skin Cleanser I’ll be trying a new morning cleanser soon because I don’t overly enjoy this one and feel it’s kind of stripping for my skin The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% I absolutely love this serum and feel like it really helps my breakouts and oil production Cetaphil - DermaControl Oil Control Moisturizer SPF 30 I’ve only been using this a few weeks and I like how it works to keep me less oily and gives me my needed spf but having combo skin I get really dry by my nose and this didn’t help that so i might try another At night I’ve been using GARNIER - SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water All-in-1 Cleanser & Waterproof Makeup Remover i use this makeup remover with a cotton pad gets off my water prod mascara and everything in a couple swipes and gives my face a nice gentle cleanser before using SA cleanser (I’ll get some re useable ones so that it’s more sustainable) CeraVe - Renewing SA Cleanser For Normal Skin I love this I find you have to build yourself up to it if you have more sensitive skin because I most certainly did and I love it, it’s living up to its promises, this cleanser shrinks my pores and removed all the little bumps and rough patches from my face. Keep in mind this can cause irritation I know it did after coming out of a pool all day for me so just be careful with it The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% I use this twice a day because I just love it it that much The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 Absolutely love this serum and ran out but I’m debating on if I want to find a nighttime moisturizer with this ingredient instead? CeraVe - Daily Moisturizing Lotion For Normal To Dry Skin I’m not a fan of this at all on my face I’m just using it till I run out but I absolutely love it as a body lotion right after a shower I’m open to product suggestions or things to add to my routine to continue my skin care journey and make it successful!!

Top 3 Makeup Remover $10 & Less 💗
Having a full face of makeup is great .. until it’s time to take it off ✨ I like a full face, that includes the whole 9 yard (eye makeup, full foundation/concealer coverage, and powders). I only double cleanse for this situation. I know a lot of people who say that wearing certain sunscreens should be double cleansed but that’s a preference I think everyone should decide for themselves (L👉🏽R) GARNIER - SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water with Rose Water this is a great step to have in your arsenal! I love to use this to work on my eye makeup. It avoids unnecessary oil contact with your eyes which saves a lot of irritation! no oils, alcohol, or fragrances gets the job done without excessive rubbing Just apply to your cotton pad and rub gently to removal stubborn mascara, eyeliner, shadows, and any other eye stubbornness! $8.99 THE FACE SHOP - Rice Water Bright, Light Cleansing Oil This is my second step. I love this oil! Rice Water : enriched with vitamin A,B, E and minerals, its gentle enough to clean without leaving a harsh greasy feel! Moringa Oil: antioxidant rich oil that helps lift dirt and makeup Soapwart: gentle cleanser for sensitive skin NO sulfates, SLS, or SLES I take two pumps of this in my hand and rub it across my face (try to avoid your eye area). Then rinse my skin with water to work the oil and makeup off. If you wear a lot of makeup (like I) you might have to repeat this step! PACIfICA - Rose Kombucha Flower Powered Face Wash My last cleansing step before I tone! It’s very gentle and smells great! Rose Tea: rich in antioxidants, and antibacterial properties, it also helps to hydrate your skin! Fermented Tea: rich in anti-aging and detoxifying properties. NO parabens, phthalates, SLS, or mineral oil! This cleaner leaves my face feeling very soft and great. With combo skin, it’s gentle and doesn’t leave my skin totally stripped but still cleanses the left over oil! $10! Always follow these steps with toner! You’d be surprise what’s left over on your face !

Versed Baby Cheeks All-in-One Hydrating Milk
VERSED - BABY CHEEKS BEST TONER EVER!!! Before this product, I was using GARNIER - SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water with Rose Water to help tone my skin after cleansing. I was just looking to switch up my products, so I decided to try this! This is the best toner I have ever tried; I think it is even better then Clinque’s toner/Step 2. Firstly, I love the applicator. Very similar to the Clinique bottles, you just put your skin pad on top of the bottle and push down a couple of times. It is a very clean and effective way of getting the product on the pad. I use reusable cotton rounds I bought on Amazon. Secondly, the toner does everything it promises! It does not dry your skin at all, leaving your skin feeling hydrated and smooth. 👉🏻This product is tailored to dry skin, but I think all skin types would benefit from using this toner! ✨Link to reusable cotton rounds (very good for the environment): Reusable Makeup Remover Pads, 16 PCS Organic Bamboo Cotton Rounds Reusable Cotton Pads Face Cleansing Cloths Toner Pads Facial Makeup Pads with Laundry Bag & Storage Bag https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07RYK7J1N/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_3n1NFbQQ8T9QX?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

AM and PM affordable barrier repair routine
AM and PM affordable barrier repair routine
So I had a recent wake up call; sunscreen isn’t supposed to tingle when you put it on and serums shouldn’t just sit on top of your skin. Who knew?! Both of these reactions were clear signs that my moisture barrier had suffered. I pared back my routine to these five products. I’m planning on sticking to this routine until my barrier is appropriately healed or at least for the next two weeks. First part of my AM routine is to wash my HANDS then splash my face with cool water, just to help myself perk up and to remove any sleep acquired gunk. Next comes The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% Which I’ve been using for about ten months and is really beneficial for my oily skin and prominent pores. I like to give this a good three minutes, give or take, to absorb. Although this is an active ingredient it is also an antioxidant meaning it’s really nutritious for the skin, and can be applied twice a day. (If you’re sensitive to zinc this product might break you out) Before applying a pea+ sized amount of The Ordinary - Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA I dab a bit of water on my face. I find that applying this to slightly damp skin makes all the difference. It delivers that hydration deep into my skin. When attempting to repair your barrier frying hydration into different layers of your skin is so important. The final part of my morning routine is Cetaphil - DermaControl Oil Control Moisturizer SPF 30 This is one of my favorite SPF’s. I find that when I give it a full 15 minutes to absorb it leaves no white cast and as a person with oily skin i was able to reapply this without feeling totally greasy. At the end of the day I cleanse with CeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin This is a new addition for me. I wanted a cleanser that could tackle my oil production without stripping my skin and further harming my barrier, and so far this has been a life saver! I definitely notice a difference in my t-zone. I moisturize with The Ordinary - Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA again. And most nights I butter myself up with CeraVe - Skin Renewing Night Cream before tucking myself in. I love that this contains ceramides and a low dose of niacinamide. I’d like to find something with a better slip and that sinks in quicker as well. Overall it’s a great night cream though. All of these products are under 20 dollars and they’re all tailored towards repairing your skins barrier and adding extra nutrients!

Week 2 of Barrier Repair
Week 2 of Barrier Repair
After doing some more research I changed my routine to the following in Week 2: AM CLEANSE: washed face with water TREATMENT: The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 MOISTURISER: DRUNK ELEPHANT - Lala Retro Whipped Cream EYE CREAM: CeraVe - Eye Repair Cream SUNSCREEN: PAULA'S CHOICE - Calm Mineral Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 30 PM PRE-CLEANSE: GARNIER - Micellar Milk Cleansing Water for dry and sensitive skin, this has been amazing and so gentle on my skin CLEANSE: CeraVe - Hydrating Face Cleanser For Normal To Dry Skin this is a nice gentle cleanser, as of yet I am not sure of the long term benefits but it doesn’t leave my skin dry/tight after washing. Will continue to see how it goes. TREATMENT: The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 this definitely leaves my skin feeling soft and hydrated after use. But unsure if hydrating enough. EYE CREAM: CeraVe - Eye Repair Cream still haven’t seen any improvements with this. MOISTURISER: DRUNK ELEPHANT - Lala Retro Whipped Cream as soon as I started using this my skin improved dramatically over night, I no longer had red rashy-looking bumps on my upper cheek. Even my husband noticed and complimented how my skin looked in the morning after just one use !! So this is a winner. Although, I am thinking as I get closer to summer I will go back to The Ordinary - Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA as I tend to get oily in the tzone and it is lighter than the DE moisturiser. Please tell me what you think of my routine. I am also looking at adding a chemical exfoliator, as I have deep black heads and visible pores across my cheeks and nose. And I get hormonal acne along my jawline. Suggestions on where to take my routine next are welcome. We have come out of winter and going into spring. The sun is out but the air outside is still quite nippy so havent started getting oily just yet.

facewash - Neutrogena - Fresh Foaming Cleanser bha - COSRX - BHA Blackhead Power Liquid aha - The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution moisturiser - CeraVe - PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion / Neutrogena - Neutrogena Hydroboost Water Gel Moisturizer something from the recent above routine seems to be giving me tiny spots... I think it’s the aha toner, so going to cut that out for now and see if it improves. I seemed to have problems with the aha toner last time I used it, too. I also have on my shelf... The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% - I believe this broke me out, but may have been the zinc in it. other products with niacinamide in it are great for my skin. The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 - this seems to work well for me, giving a lot of hydration! The Ordinary - 100% Organic Cold Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil - I haven’t used this many times, but I don’t think it’s given me problems. I am waiting for... CeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin- I have read many good reviews about this & seems to have beneficial ingredients. fragrance free. hoping it’s less drying than current facewash. I am yet to try... LA ROCHE-POSAY - Anthelios 50 Mineral Ultra Light Sunscreen Fluid SPF 50- but I definitely will when my routine settles down, seeing as I’m using a bha/aha and sunscreen is a must! I want to buy... COSRX - AHA 7 Whitehead Power Liquid- seeing as the bha seems to be okay for my skin & less drying than stridex pads, I want to give this a go! I don’t want to use too many new products at once, though, so I might wait a while. BANILA CO - Clean It Zero Cleansing Balm Originalor DHC - Deep Cleansing Oil - I need a cleansing balm/oil for double cleansing the day off, and I have seen this one positively reviewed a lot. PURITO - Centella Green Level Unscented Sun SPF50+- need a sunscreen as others keep breaking me out every time! this one seems to be a hg for many! THE inkey LIST - Retinol Serum- not this particular one, but would like to include retinol some time in the future to boost collagen etc.
