I am a huge skincare lover and love to try out ingredients and brands. Check out my collection and my favourite brands and products. Favourite brands: Versed: this is a brand that I have tried many products and they have worked well for me. This is a drug store brand that is mid range. It is cruelty free and eco conscience, going so far as to state the percentage of usage of recycled material and having recycling instructions on their website. My holy grails are VERSED - PHOTOS, PLEASE BRIGHTENING TIGHTENING MASK and VERSED - Doctor's Visit The ordinary: this is a great brand as it is super affordable and it’s cruelty free. The way I like to benefit from this brand is to try out ingredients to see what works for my skin, their serums are my favourite. My holy grail is The Ordinary - "Buffet" + Copper Peptides 1% The Inkey lists: this brand is similar to the ordinary but I think some of their formulas are better. They focus on ingredients that allow me to find the best ingredients for my skin, they are also cruelty free. My holy grail isTHE inkey LIST - Q10 Antioxidant Serum Cosrx:this brand was my introduction to K-beauty and they are very accessible through Amazon ( also cruelty free). They focus on the primary ingredient that is either natural or chemical. My holy grails are COSRX - Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence and #Cosrx - Full Fit Propolis Light Ampoule[products]#[FiveStars] Brands with 1-2 favourite products: First aid beauty: this brand focuses on healing the skin with the incorporation of oats which are amazing. My holy grail isFIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair Cream Intense Hydration Glossier: this is a brand started by a beauty editor and are all very aesthetically pleasing and gentle on the skin (cruelty free). My holy grail is Glossier. - Milky Jelly Cleanser Paula’s Choice: this is a great brand that is science driven (cruelty free). My holy grail isPAULA'S CHOICE - Youth-extending Daily Hydrating Fluid SPF 50 Pyunkang Yul: this is a K-beauty brand that started in a medical clinic and focus on short ingredient lists. My holy grail isPyunkang Yul - Essence Toner Pixi: this is an English brand that has lots of products and lines to target different issues (cruelty free). My holy grail is pixi - Hydrating Milky Mist The body shop: the body shop is a very established brand that has tons of products (cruelty free), I love their masks in particular. My holy grail isTHE BODY SHOP - Tea Tree Face Mask Niod: this brand has the same parent company as the ordinary but it is the more expensive and technologically advanced. I love that they are pushing the bounds of skincare (cruelty free). My holy grail is NIOD - Modulating Glucosides
HELP I’ve tried everything!
I’ve been trying to take extra care of my skin for the past 4 months but nothing seems to be working. Morning routine: CeraVe - Salicylic Acid Facial Cleanser The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% CeraVe - Daily Moisturizing Lotion For Normal To Dry Skin CeraVe - Mineral Sunscreen Lotion SPF 30 for Face with Zinc Oxide Night routine: THE FACE SHOP - Rice Water Bright, Light Cleansing Oil CeraVe - Salicylic Acid Facial Cleanser The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% CeraVe - SA Lotion For Rough & Bumpy Skin pura d'or - 100% Rosehip Seed Oil Every few nights, I alternate between Paula’s Choice 2% BHA exfoliant and the CeraVe Resurfacing Retinol in place of The Ordinary Niacinamide. In addition to this routine, I wash my pillow case every week, eat relatively healthy, and don’t wear any makeup. I also use The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solutiononce a week for 10 minutes. I have acne-prone combination skin. My struggles are acne scars and bumps/texture on my cheeks. I’d especially like to know how to get rid of the bumps and what’s causing them. I also recently abstained from my actives for 2 weeks in hopes of my skin clearing up but that obviously didn’t work. I’ve been using my CeraVe products for almost 2 years. My skin only started breaking out more once I incorporated more products little by little. I don’t think this is considered purging because this has been going on for 3 months. I also don’t think this is maskne because I rarely leave my house. PLS HELP! I feel like I’ve done all I can. I can’t even see a dermatologist because I don’t have insurance. #help #helpmyskin

My Family’s Favorite Beauty Products (oh no..)
Hey ya’ll! Today we’re talking about my family’s favorite beauty products! My grandma is super into high end beauty, but both my parents describe themselves as “creatures of habit” and aren’t that into it. However, they all have products they love. The way this will work is they’ll share their favorite products and why they like them, then I’ll give my opinions on them based on their ingredients. Mom: LAYRITE - Natural Matte Cream in Medium Hold: My Mom says it’s able to tame her frizzy hair, while also not requiring her to use a lot of it. My comment: I talked about this product in my Best of Haircare 2020 post on Cherie. This pomade is strongly targeted at men, as a great pomade for mess free styles. The ingredients don’t show much, it’s pretty standard. It has vanilla fragrance oils, which is okay for a hair product, and it has brazilian wax. OLAY - Complete UV365 Daily Moisturizer SPF 30 : My Mom says that her Mom used to use this when she was a kid, and my Mom started stealing it. She fell in love with it, and likes that it absorbs quickly while not being greasy, and that the smell reminds her of her Mom. This is ironic because I always steal this from my Mom. Who knows when the chain will stop? My comment: This one I’ve also talked about on Cherie in my Best of Skincare 2020 list. This is a really basic nourishing moisturizer, that’s great for beginners. It’s alchohol and frangrance free, and quite affordable. #Bobbi Brown - Lip Color[products]#[FourStars] : My Mom says she discovered this while shopping in early February 2020. She says it’s super soft, lasts a pretty long time, and that it’s more of a brown color than a true nude. My comment: This lipstick is imfamous for not layering well, but is great from an ingredient stand point. #Aveda - Smoothing Fluid Lotion[products]#[FiveStars] : My Mom says she’s been using this for about 15 years. It also helps with frizz, and brings her hair a lot of shine. My comment: The best way to describe this product is like a serum for your hair. It’s a bit oily on your fingers, and smells like pumpkin pie. It has fragrance, hence the smell, but again that’s okay in terms of haircare. It has a fusion of oils, which seem to be causing the oily texture, as well as the shine. Therefore, I wouldn’t recommend this to people with oily hair. Other than that, I wish I could recommend it, but apparently Avenda discontinued this product :(. Dad: head & shoulders - Classic Clean Anti-Dandruff 2 in 1 Paraben Free Shampoo and Conditioner : My Dad says that he normally has bad dandruff, but this shampoo works to get rid of it. I think we can trust him on that, as he’s been using it for about 40 years. My comment: This product uses pyrithione zinc as it’s main dandruff fighting ingredient. Zinc can help prevent hair loss, clean your hair folicules, and reduce build up on your scalp. I wouldn’t reccomend this product because it contains large doses of both sodium lauryl sulfate and sodium laureth sulfate. These are known skin irritants, which can cause severe reaction to those with sensitive skin. #Paco Rabbane - cologne[products]#[ThreeStars] : My Dad says he tried it because his uncle used it, and he’s been wearing it for 25 years now. My comment: you can’t say anything about a cologne, I mean it’s all about the fragrance. #Irish Spring - Bar Soap[products]#[ThreeStars] : My Dad says he likes the smell. My comment: my Dad is so old he hasn’t graduated to liquid soap yet. Some side notes, people on amazon say it’s a great pest and deer repellent, as well as a great deodent. Who knew bar soap had a bunch of different uses? Grandma: OBAGI - Nu-Derm Toner : My Grandma says that she likes how calming this toner is. My comment: I overall don’t like this product. First, witch hazel is the third ingredient in this toner. Witch hazel can be irritating and sesitizing, and it also needs alcohol in it to be stable. Alcohol is also irritating. This product also has fragrance, and when I smelled it I thought on cinnamon. OBAGI - Nu-Derm Foaming Gel : My Grandma says she likes to use this and the toner together. My comment: This product is really bad. First, it contains a large amount of Sodium Laureth Sulfate, which I already talked about. It also contains unnecessary extracts, fragrance, and 5 TYPES OF PARABENS!!!! Parabens are believed to mimic the hormone oestrogen. “Too much oestrogen can trigger an increase in breast cell division and growth of tumors, which is why parabens have been linked to breast cancer and reproductive issues.” According to Elle magazine and the Environmental Working Group. SKINCEUTICALS - A.G.E. Eye Complex for Dark Circles : My Grandma likes that this cream help diminish the appearance of her wrinkles. My comment: This product is okay. The ingredient list is fine, my only concern would be that it contains a pretty big amount of paraffins, which are known to clog pores. #skinmedica - the advanced serum[products]#[OneStar] : My Grandma says she LOVES this serum! She says it contains stem cell factors, and is really expensive but unbelievable. My comment: This product is really overpriced. It’s $295.00 for a 1 oz. bottle, and NOTHING on the ingredients list justifies the price. It claims to have anti aging complex’s, but if so, I can’t find them on the ingredients list. All I see is a list of cheap extracts, that are a form of fragrance even though they claim the product is fragrance free. Sorry Grandma, The Ordinary will give you better serums for $5. Save that $290 for something more important! Cetaphil - Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion : My Grandma says this is a good, simple moisturizer thats well priced. My comment: This is a good product! It has glycerin which is hydrating, it’s not overpriced, and it’s fragrance free! That was a roller coaster, but that’s it for today! Make sure to cheer this post to spread the awareness that no matter how long you’ve been using a product it might not be good. I am shooketh😍😍😍 I didn’t expect to like this so much based off first impressions😳 Say hello to the @nooni_official Applebutter(doesn’t that sound bomb) lip mask😍😍😍 Okay so the only kind of lip mask I tried is the one from mamonde which was good, but this............ may be the one. It is so smooth and just glided on. It went on a little thick but it wasn’t uncomfortable. There is AHAs,Shea Butter, and Vitamin A,C and E😍 I have yet to try the laneige one but in due time.🤫nooni - Applebutter Lip Mask
Moisture Based Routine for Dry Skin 💨
So I have combo with oily t-zone. My cheeks and mouth area tends to lean to the dryer side especially when I use my Differin Gel or Salicylic Acid treatment at night. So in order o replenish moisture to my skin I used moisture based products. (In Order of Routine) CeraVe - Hydrating Face Cleanser For Normal To Dry Skin this cleanser is gentle and leaves a very nice moistures clean effect. I use a full pump on my wet skin & work it in for 45 sec- 1 min. It’s has ceramides, hyaluronic acid, & CeraVe patented MVE Technology. All of these ingredients promote moisture. It’s also non-comedogenic, non-irritating & fragrance free Kiehl's - Cucumber Herbal Alcohol-Free Toner i love this toner. It’s marketed for sensitive skin & it’s alcohol free. The only thing that’s a negative for me is the Blue 1 fragrance (known irritating dye) , but it doesn’t irritate my skin as much as if it was in a moisturizer. (I ran out of my Kiehl's - Calendula Herbal Extract Alcohol Free Toner 😕) KORRES - H2Rose Hydrating Face Mist this is my favorite multi use spray! It has rose damascena flower water (antioxidant), hyaluronic acid, organs blossom flower water, & aloe Vera. It’s high in Vitamin C & you can even set your makeup with it. It has no silicones or dyes. The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 ** I only use this when I feel my skin is extra dry or I use a mask that left my skin feeling dry.** I use it while my facial mist is still damp for maximum absorption Seoul Ceuticals - 20% Vitamin C Hyaluronic Acid Serum favorite Vitamin C serum. (I have a previous post about this) The Ordinary - Alpha Arbutin 2% + HA great for my dark spots and follows 15-20 mins after my Vitamin C serum. (I have a previous post about this to) DUFT & DOFT - Salmon Vgene Hydro Active Eye Cream this is one of my gentle eye cream that is very non irritating (I have a previous post about this) FENTY SKIN - Hydra Vizor Invisible Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 30 Sunscreen I said how heavy this was in a previous post, but I find it to be perfect for when my skin is extra dry. Always use SPF during the day nooni - Applebutter Lip Mask I love this lip mask more than Laneige . I use this day and night and my lips stay moisturized all day !

Skin Update ✨✨
Okay this is a totally non filtered sun photo of my skin. Still working on minor texture this is due to my new skin routine (I posted about my morning and will post my night). I try and show my skin with new routines and products I use because I get so many ! The number one thing I will say is be consistent! I saw a post from @MelaninSkinCareAddict(great post you should go check it out) and I loved it and it inspired me to show results from some advice she saw. My last skin update was 12/22 which I showed a unfiltered close up of my skin and the breakout I had endure out of the states! I will say for texture, hyperpigmentation, and acne you need: effective vitamin C serum- should have vitamin E (tocopherol), hyaluronic acid, and Ferulic acid insta natural - Vitamin C Serum Mad Hippie - Vitamin C Serum retinol- DIFFERIN - DIFFERIN Acne Treatment Gel is my first go to, but now I use The Ordinary - Retinol 0.5% in Squalane GLOW RECIPE - Avocado Melt Retinol Sleeping Face Mask (I use this on nights I don’t use The Ordinary retinol oil .. 2xs a week) cleanser made for you skin: should be tailored and effective my current faves: Murad - AHA/BHA Exfoliating Cleanser (2x week) COSRX - Low PH Good Morning Gel Cleanser (only when I oil cleanse) (3xs a weeks when I wear my night mask) PEACH & LILY - Power Calm Hydrating Gel Cleanser (mostly for nights) toner: a great toner will be your friend! This is important for removing dirts and oils. If you wear makeup this is a necessity. PAULA'S CHOICE - Enriched Calming Toner Murad - Clarifying Toner innisfree - Jeju Lava Seawater Lotion sunscreen: at least spf30 TULA SKINCARE - Daily Sunscreen Gel Broad Spectrum SPF 30 ELEMIS - Daily Defence Shield SPF30 moisturizer: a great moisturizer is your friend! So my faves fresh - Lotus Anti-Aging Night Moisturizer at night SUNDAY RILEY - Tidal Brightening Enzyme Water Cream during the day for hyperpigmentation before sunscreen ✨✨✨✨ Other things I love that have helped COSRX - Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence I use this day and night after my toner. If you neee hydration this is my current go to! SUNDAY RILEY - U.F.O. Acne Treatment Face Oil I now use this on days I don’t use my vitamin C in the morning. PEACH & LILY - Glass Skin Refining Serum This has replaced my niacinamide from The Ordinary. If you want glass skin use this consistently! CLARISMA - Namaste Glow Energizing Face Mask I use this as my daily face mask once a week. I will be posting my detailed night routine soon as I’m redoing my entire on IG 🥰🥰
I’m adding three new products to my routine! Here’s a quick overview- (I will be doing detailed posts about each of these products after I’ve used them for a while.) VANICREAM - Gentle Facial Cleanser This cleanser was highly recommended by the skincare community, especially benneiley on Tik Tok! Before this, I was using CeraVe - Hydrating Face Cleanser For Normal To Dry Skin which I absolutely love, but I wanted to switch things up! The Vanicream cleanser is gentle, while still providing a deep clean. It does provide a nice foam. I am wondering if it’s too cleansing to use twice a day on my dry skin, and if I need to use the Cerave in the morning and Vanicream at night. I will keep y’all updated! HADALABO - Gokujyun Premium LotionThis hyalouronic acid lotion was highly recommend by whatsonvisface (check her out on Tik Tok and IG!). I am currently using PAULA'S CHOICE - Enriched Calming Toner , which I love, but again I wanted to switch things up. I haven’t started using this product yet, as I’m not quite out of the PC toner. I’m beyond excited to start using this! It contains 5 different molecular weights of hyaluronic acid to penetrate deeply into the skin. PAULA'S CHOICE - 10% Azelaic Acid Booster I recently went to a check up with my dermatologist, which I will be making a separate post about. One of the changes that we are making is adding azelaic acid to my routine! I already had this product at home, so I will be using it up before switching to prescription strength azelaic acid. It should help with my acne and PIE (post-inflammatory erythema). Do you guys use any of these products? What do you think about them?!

Morning routine updated
Ok I’ve made a few changes to my routine and sometimes I keep switching a few things in and out depending on the day.... I start with The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution which I love. I think glycolic acid is an important ingredient to have in your routine for oily skin and wrinkles and even acne too. I always use insta natural - Zinc Vitamin C Serum but I go between also using insta natural - Age Defying & Skin Clearing Serum which I love for acne, insta natural - Dark Spot Corrector I don’t notice a huge difference with this but it has great ingredients or insta natural - Skin Brightening Serum, Anti-Aging that has alpha arbutin to help brighten dark spots or hyperpigmentation. So I alternate with those! Love using COSRX - Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence to have a dewy glow and helps with skin texture and pigmentation issues I’ve recently added The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% to help with acne and oily skin and love it too. I top with a thin layer of Clindamycin gel and then moisturizer which I alternate also between a few different ones. BEEKMAN 1802 - Bloom Cream Daily Probiotic Moisturizer has great ingredients but a funky old woman smell I do not like, thank goodness I only have a sample size.... Honest has a great soothing moisturizer I’ve tried and also ARBONNE has a great calming moisturizer as well as a lightweight jelly moisturizer I go between. Then I do a few drops of The Ordinary - Ascorbic Acid 8% + Alpha Arbutin 2% and I’m done. I usually let it sit for awhile or at least a good 5 minutes while I do my eye makeup and eyeliner before I use any face makeup but I love the texture of my skin so far using this all together.
Reviewing My Followers Skincare Routines pt. 3
Hey y’all! Today’s post is part 3 of 4 of my Reviewing My Followers Skincare Routines series. In today’s post we’re covering @geralorentas and @robynkenner ! Starting with @geralorentas. She starts out by cleansing with theCeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser which costs $13 for 8 fl oz. This cleanser has super gentle exfoliating agents, as well as glycerin and Hylaronic acid which are very hydrating. Next she uses theRENÉE ROULEAU - Rapid Response Detox Toner which costs $41 for 6 fl oz. This toner, as far as toners go, is pretty good. Its main draws are Salicylic acid and Lactic acid which are great for dealing with acne. Next she uses theSKIN GRAMMAR - Super Good Repair Essence which costs $38 for 5.7 fl oz. This essence has Nicinamide and glycerin, as well as a ton of ceramides. Unfortunately it has orange peel oil. Citrus oils a extracts are extremely irritating to the skin because they are acidic, so I have to say no to this essence. Next she uses the RENÉE ROULEAU - Vitamin C&E Treatment which costs $69 for 1 fl oz. It has glycerin, Vitamin E, and Vitamin C, but again it has citrus oils and extracts which make this another no for me. Then to moisturize she goes in with the#Dr. zenovia - Peptide + Ceramide Moisturizer[products]#[FourStars] which costs $79 for 1.7 fl oz. This moisturizer has ceramides and glycerin. Finally she goes in with theLA ROCHE-POSAY - Anthelios XL Anti-shine Dry Touch Facial Sunscreen SPF50+ which I couldn’t find the price for. It’s a really good basic sunscreen. So that’s @geralorentas routine. For her I would recommend getting rid of the essence and the treatment, but otherwise the products seem great! Moving on to @robynkenner. She starts with a double cleanse, and we’ll talk in a minute about what she’s doing wrong. She starts with the The Ordinary - Squalane Cleanser which costs $7.90 for 1 fl oz. The main ingredients in this are squalane and glycerin. A lot of people complain that this cleanser is so gentle is barely cleans, but it seems to work for @robynkenner. Then she uses theMurad - Clarifying Cleanser which costs $32 for 6.75 fl oz. The main draw for this product is Salicylic acid, but again it’s a no because of citrus oils and extracts as well as fragrance. Now I mentioned that she’s double cleansing wrong. Double cleansing isn’t just using 2 cleansers, it’s specifically using an oil based cleanser and then a water based cleanser. (Check out my post on double cleansing for more information) In this case, @robynkenner is using 2 water based cleansers which can be stripping to the skin, and isn’t considered double cleansing. She mentioned she started doing this because her skin didn’t feel clean with just the first cleanse, and I think this might be because the Squalane Cleanser is too gentle. Next she uses theNeutrogena - Hydro Boost Eye Gel-Cream which costs $25 for .5 fl oz. First off, eye cream should be at the end of a routine. The eye cream itself is great though. Next she usesThe Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution which costs $8.70 for 8 fl oz. I talked about this product in pt. 1, but in short it’s really good. And finally she uses the FIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair Cream which costs $36 for 6 fl oz. This is a nice super thick basic moisturizer. So in conclusion @robynkenner, I’d try to find a new cleanser, then just add your eye cream after moisturizer instead of early in the routine. That’s all for pt. 3! Please cheer for this post if you liked it, comment below your favorite cleansers to help out @robynkenner, and follow me to join the family and for similar content. -Mae

My current products that I’m trying out. My least favorite is the ordinary hyaluronic acid serum, it’s sticky and I’m pretty sure it likes to rub off my skin. Not sure what the issue is with it. Also the creams like to rub off my skin as well. Any tips for this issue, is the product to heavy for me? Non of these leave me waking up with a glow or refreshed feeling, but I think they are helping my skin but I do wish I had a mask or something that I can use and wake up with some moisture.
Niacinamide serum ✨
This is one of the best serums out there. I would honestly suggest for all skin types especially oily! Takes some times for changes but worth it. Absorbs quickly and feels good on face🤎 What it does: minimizes pores 🌟 controls oil on face💧 brightens ☀️ You can purchase it at Ulta and Sephora! The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%

CeraVe Renewing SA cleanser - Review
CeraVe - Renewing SA Cleanser For Normal Skin Hey guys I’m going to be reviewing one of the newer cleansers from CeraVe. I’m going to be giving some background information on it, and of course my personal experience. Leave a like if you enjoyed! Background information: One of the main ingredients of this product is Salicylic Acid. (If you couldn’t tell y the products name) Salicylic Acid is an ingredient commonly used in products that want to deal with blackheads, pore problems, and any sort of irritation. The ingredient is very soothing to the skin, and is good at digging deep into your pores and getting all the gunk out. It is also a form of chemical exfoliation which is really healthy for your skin if you do it not too often. Other ingredients in this product include Niacinamide, and glycerin. Glycerin is a hydrating ingredient while Niacinamide focuses more on oil production and pore problems. My personal experience: I started using this product late August 2020. I was super excited to use this light chemical exfoliant cleanser for such a long time, and I was happy I finally had gotten my hands on it. The first time I had washed my face with it i could feel the texture of my skin smoothen. This cleanser is very gentle, and even though the ingredient list is super simple, it’s very effective and does a good job with your skin concerns. Over time blackheads seemed to fade away more, and the texture of my skin continued to get smoother. I’d recommend this product to anyone who had blackhead problems or pore problems, or anyone with acne in general. It’s super light and gets rid of excess makeup if your micellar water or makeup balm didn’t clean off all your makeup. I love this and will be repurchasing in the future. Salicylic acid is a life saver ingredient, and I’m sure it will work for others as good as it worked for me! They sell this on Ulta, Sephora, and at Target! Try it out guys and let me know what you think!
My Winter 2021 Skincare Routine
Hey guys, I’m going to be reviewing my 2021 winter skincare routine! PURITO - Comfy Water Sun Block This sunscreen is my go to. It’s so light and amazing, and really does the job. Keeping those UV rays without even being able to tell I have a sunscreen on. This sunscreen leaves no white cast either. Amazing! Mineral sunscreens are very sustainable as well. CeraVe - Renewing SA Cleanser For Normal Skin I’ve been using this Salicylic Acid based cleanser for a couple months now, and can for sure tell the difference of the texture of my skin, and my pores. I’ll be also posting a full review of this product as well. No fragrance, and gets all the dirt and excess makeup off my skin. Amazing and no bad reactions! The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 I’ve already reviewed this serum, so you can scroll down my account to see my opinion, but it is amazing. Super hydrating, light, a little tacky feel at first (takes a second to absorb into my skin) but afterwards I have a plump and hydrated feeling throughout my skin! The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% I started using this serum late July 2020. So far, no bad thoughts about it. This serum is super light, and really makes a difference. I’ll also be posting a full review on this product. A big difference in my pores since before I started using it. Less clogged pores, and a much smoother texture skin in problematic areas. CeraVe - CeraVe Moisturising Cream This is my favorite winter moisturizer. It’s super thick, and absorbs well into my skin. It leaves me skin with a nice and soft feel to it. Using this moisturizer during the winter is amazing because it leaves my skin very hydrated throughout the whole day without any dry patches! CeraVe - Eye Repair Cream I’ve been using this since the summer of 2020, and I haven’t noticed much of a difference. You could probably just use your moisturizer as an eye cream, because I can’t tell a difference in my skin. I’m not going to waste it though and I’ll finish it off. Otherwise just use moisturizer as an eye cream. Aquaphor - Healing Ointment Skin Protectant Lastly, my favorite lip balm. The best way to keep your lips moisturized all year long is to use this product. I haven’t had any cracked lips or lip problems in years since I started using this product. Amazing and will never stop using Aquaphor!
Top 3 Makeup Remover $10 & Less 💗
Having a full face of makeup is great .. until it’s time to take it off ✨ I like a full face, that includes the whole 9 yard (eye makeup, full foundation/concealer coverage, and powders). I only double cleanse for this situation. I know a lot of people who say that wearing certain sunscreens should be double cleansed but that’s a preference I think everyone should decide for themselves (L👉🏽R) GARNIER - SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water with Rose Water this is a great step to have in your arsenal! I love to use this to work on my eye makeup. It avoids unnecessary oil contact with your eyes which saves a lot of irritation! no oils, alcohol, or fragrances gets the job done without excessive rubbing Just apply to your cotton pad and rub gently to removal stubborn mascara, eyeliner, shadows, and any other eye stubbornness! $8.99 THE FACE SHOP - Rice Water Bright, Light Cleansing Oil This is my second step. I love this oil! Rice Water : enriched with vitamin A,B, E and minerals, its gentle enough to clean without leaving a harsh greasy feel! Moringa Oil: antioxidant rich oil that helps lift dirt and makeup Soapwart: gentle cleanser for sensitive skin NO sulfates, SLS, or SLES I take two pumps of this in my hand and rub it across my face (try to avoid your eye area). Then rinse my skin with water to work the oil and makeup off. If you wear a lot of makeup (like I) you might have to repeat this step! PACIfICA - Rose Kombucha Flower Powered Face Wash My last cleansing step before I tone! It’s very gentle and smells great! Rose Tea: rich in antioxidants, and antibacterial properties, it also helps to hydrate your skin! Fermented Tea: rich in anti-aging and detoxifying properties. NO parabens, phthalates, SLS, or mineral oil! This cleaner leaves my face feeling very soft and great. With combo skin, it’s gentle and doesn’t leave my skin totally stripped but still cleanses the left over oil! $10! Always follow these steps with toner! You’d be surprise what’s left over on your face !

Okay so I can’t really say 3mos as this is only my week 2 of this routine!!!! MORNING‼️ I wash with Neutrogena - Ultra Gentle Daily Cleanser so far it’s been okay, I guess u get what u pay for but with that being said my skin is soooooooo sensitive that literally before finding Cherie would mostly just wash my face with a rag and 💦 ❤️I then go back in with GARNIER - SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water with Rose Water okay so I love this stuff, it don’t make my face feel nasty, I literally use a cotton pad and just wipe away what my first cleanser didn’t get!!!! ❤️I also take my Apostrophe - Spironolactone I’m supposed to take this daily but due to health issues I only take this every other day just to maintain my potassium levels, I’ve only been on this for 2wks and I have noticed a BIG CHANGE in my skin🙌🏽 ❤️I then top it off with Cetaphil - Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion it definitely drenches your face with moisture BUT it makes me oily🚱 NIGHTIME ROUTINE‼️ ❤️I follow all the same steps above but I add in my Apostrophe - Topical Formula So far I’m in love with this, I’m already seeing changes in my skin and some of my scarring, I would definitely recommend this product/company🗣🗣🗣If u can’t afford to see a dermatologist or your insurance doesn’t cover it, this process is pretty cool, u literally do everything over the computer💻 or your phone📲your dermatologist will make up a regimen and it’s sent to u via mail🙌🏽With COVID in our lives this was a game changer❤️ Of course after my topical I once again moisturize my skin with Cetaphil - Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion
This Months Empties !! Dec 2020
The GARNIER - SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water with Rose Water is so much better over the original, it’s a lot less drying and sensitizing. great for dry & sensitive skin. I wish the bottles actually came in a bigger size because I feel like I go through these so quickly 😭 I like to shake my micellar water before squeezing onto a cotton pad, it actually gets a little more soapy and saves you more product that way. In all, I like this product and makes taking off makeup much easier without adding any sensitivity to my skin. Would buy again. PALMER'S - Cocoa Butter Formula Skin Therapy Cleansing Oil Face did brighten and make my skin look more radiant, gently removed makeup, and helped get up some surface level plugs!! I wish this was thicker or more viscous so that it could further penetrate the skin and draw out more impurities. Though I do like this product and it does what the label says it does, I would prefer to buy a thicker oil cleanser. I really like a lot of Clinique’s Moisturizers, but I usually don’t want to pay full price, so i really like going for the minis that this brand has available. TheCLINIQUE - Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion+ is usually my go to under makeup, on cold days or on the go. it has really helped with barrier repair & is dry combo & sensitive skin friendly!!🧖🏾♀️ it slips on easy, absorbs quickly and doesn’t leave a greasy or oily feeling. no parabens, sulfates, denatured alcohol or fragrance. 🌱Will definitely stock up on some more soon 🧴
AM and PM affordable barrier repair routine
So I had a recent wake up call; sunscreen isn’t supposed to tingle when you put it on and serums shouldn’t just sit on top of your skin. Who knew?! Both of these reactions were clear signs that my moisture barrier had suffered. I pared back my routine to these five products. I’m planning on sticking to this routine until my barrier is appropriately healed or at least for the next two weeks. First part of my AM routine is to wash my HANDS then splash my face with cool water, just to help myself perk up and to remove any sleep acquired gunk. Next comes The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% Which I’ve been using for about ten months and is really beneficial for my oily skin and prominent pores. I like to give this a good three minutes, give or take, to absorb. Although this is an active ingredient it is also an antioxidant meaning it’s really nutritious for the skin, and can be applied twice a day. (If you’re sensitive to zinc this product might break you out) Before applying a pea+ sized amount of The Ordinary - Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA I dab a bit of water on my face. I find that applying this to slightly damp skin makes all the difference. It delivers that hydration deep into my skin. When attempting to repair your barrier frying hydration into different layers of your skin is so important. The final part of my morning routine is Cetaphil - DermaControl Oil Control Moisturizer SPF 30 This is one of my favorite SPF’s. I find that when I give it a full 15 minutes to absorb it leaves no white cast and as a person with oily skin i was able to reapply this without feeling totally greasy. At the end of the day I cleanse with CeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin This is a new addition for me. I wanted a cleanser that could tackle my oil production without stripping my skin and further harming my barrier, and so far this has been a life saver! I definitely notice a difference in my t-zone. I moisturize with The Ordinary - Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA again. And most nights I butter myself up with CeraVe - Skin Renewing Night Cream before tucking myself in. I love that this contains ceramides and a low dose of niacinamide. I’d like to find something with a better slip and that sinks in quicker as well. Overall it’s a great night cream though. All of these products are under 20 dollars and they’re all tailored towards repairing your skins barrier and adding extra nutrients!

Week 2 of Barrier Repair
After doing some more research I changed my routine to the following in Week 2: AM CLEANSE: washed face with water TREATMENT: The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 MOISTURISER: DRUNK ELEPHANT - Lala Retro Whipped Cream EYE CREAM: CeraVe - Eye Repair Cream SUNSCREEN: PAULA'S CHOICE - Calm Mineral Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 30 PM PRE-CLEANSE: GARNIER - Micellar Milk Cleansing Water for dry and sensitive skin, this has been amazing and so gentle on my skin CLEANSE: CeraVe - Hydrating Face Cleanser For Normal To Dry Skin this is a nice gentle cleanser, as of yet I am not sure of the long term benefits but it doesn’t leave my skin dry/tight after washing. Will continue to see how it goes. TREATMENT: The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 this definitely leaves my skin feeling soft and hydrated after use. But unsure if hydrating enough. EYE CREAM: CeraVe - Eye Repair Cream still haven’t seen any improvements with this. MOISTURISER: DRUNK ELEPHANT - Lala Retro Whipped Cream as soon as I started using this my skin improved dramatically over night, I no longer had red rashy-looking bumps on my upper cheek. Even my husband noticed and complimented how my skin looked in the morning after just one use !! So this is a winner. Although, I am thinking as I get closer to summer I will go back to The Ordinary - Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA as I tend to get oily in the tzone and it is lighter than the DE moisturiser. Please tell me what you think of my routine. I am also looking at adding a chemical exfoliator, as I have deep black heads and visible pores across my cheeks and nose. And I get hormonal acne along my jawline. Suggestions on where to take my routine next are welcome. We have come out of winter and going into spring. The sun is out but the air outside is still quite nippy so havent started getting oily just yet.

skincare update: 26/07/2020
facewash - Neutrogena - Fresh Foaming Cleanser bha - COSRX - BHA Blackhead Power Liquid aha - The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution moisturiser - CeraVe - PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion / Neutrogena - Neutrogena Hydroboost Water Gel Moisturizer something from the recent above routine seems to be giving me tiny spots... I think it’s the aha toner, so going to cut that out for now and see if it improves. I seemed to have problems with the aha toner last time I used it, too. I also have on my shelf... The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% - I believe this broke me out, but may have been the zinc in it. other products with niacinamide in it are great for my skin. The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 - this seems to work well for me, giving a lot of hydration! The Ordinary - 100% Organic Cold Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil - I haven’t used this many times, but I don’t think it’s given me problems. I am waiting for... CeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin- I have read many good reviews about this & seems to have beneficial ingredients. fragrance free. hoping it’s less drying than current facewash. I am yet to try... LA ROCHE-POSAY - Anthelios 50 Mineral Ultra Light Sunscreen Fluid SPF 50- but I definitely will when my routine settles down, seeing as I’m using a bha/aha and sunscreen is a must! I want to buy... COSRX - AHA 7 Whitehead Power Liquid- seeing as the bha seems to be okay for my skin & less drying than stridex pads, I want to give this a go! I don’t want to use too many new products at once, though, so I might wait a while. BANILA CO - Clean It Zero Cleansing Balm Originalor DHC - Deep Cleansing Oil - I need a cleansing balm/oil for double cleansing the day off, and I have seen this one positively reviewed a lot. PURITO - Centella Green Level Unscented Sun SPF50+- need a sunscreen as others keep breaking me out every time! this one seems to be a hg for many! THE inkey LIST - Retinol Serum- not this particular one, but would like to include retinol some time in the future to boost collagen etc.
