AbbyI love how you made your own line, that’s so cool! If I were to buy one or two items from you which do you think would be the most effective for my cystic acne? :)

It’s time for a review of these beautiful uroui products that I’ve been using for the past month or so. The full line consists of 6 products meant to streamline your routine, with hydration at its core. All of the products are formulated with Denka Pure Hyaluronic Acid (DPHA) to help skin retain moisture. Possibly my FAVORITE thing about this line is that each product is marked with a number that corresponds to its step in your routine, as well as its usage time (🌞/🌛) and hyaluronic acid index number. It makes it so much easier to incorporate into your routine!! (U2) clean foam- a cream to foam cleanser that gently removes dirt and other impurities. This has become my go-to cleanser because it cleans my skin without leaving it feeling tight and stripped. I have used other special “hydrating” cleansers and I would say that this one is pretty on-par with the rest! It’s not insanely better, but definitely not worse. (U3) skin lotion- an essence and toner in one, designed to deliver moisture and prep the skin for absorbing the maximum benefits from the next steps of your routine. I love this bby because it makes my skin so soft and hydrated!! (U5) moisture milk- I LOVE THIS!!!! It’s a lightweight, milky moisturizer that maintains the skin’s natural oil production and moisture balance. I cannot get over this. The milky texture disturbed me at first, but it blends into the skin so quickly that it doesn’t even matter. After applying all oils/serums, I take two pumps of this and rub into my face for instant hydration. It is lightweight so I usually follow up with a regular (but still light) moisturizer like protini, but you could get away with only the moisture milk and still be fine! I just like packing on the hydration at night, especially when I have the AC going! It’s such a nice step and really makes me feel like the DPHA is penetrating my skin.
New to skincare routines
I guess with all what’s going on and me being on mat leave, that gives me more time to take care of myself. Not that parenting doesn’t take most of my time and energy. Lol. This year I turned 30, and I have become obsessed about what I put on my face. On my early 20’s I just wash my face with facial wash and that’s about it. I don’t put anything on it aside maybe a powder or foundation. I forgot to mention that I used to live in a very humid and tropical country back then, I don’t even put on sunscreen coz I find them sticky and gross. And mind you I used to work at a beach bar and be under the sun for 8 hours. And still nothing else on my face aside facial wash. But ever since I moved to Northern America my skin started to become dry, I guess it’s not just the weather but also because I always shower with really warm water.. I figure that dried my skin too. So then, I added moisturizer on my “skin routine “ I don’t really put on make up ever since I moved here so I guess I wasn’t that conscious about skin aging, not til I turned 30. (Not saying 30 is old, lol) So now here I am, obsessing skin care routine. I guess my skin is a combination of dry to normal skin. I have some stubborn blackheads on my nose and some milia under my eyes. I recently started using Innisfree jeju cherry lines for my morning routine, I use their toner and cream. I use Clinique facial wash and rosehip oil as well. Still no sunscreen ( I just ordered one from Japan, and it’s on it’s way ) At night I use cerave hydrating facial wash, witch hazel for toner, it’s skin routine for moisturizer, Innisfree cherry blossoms eye cream and finish with rosehip oil. Being new to skincare routine, I’m just curious if I’m doing the steps right? After my skin routine is it supposed to look like this? (My picture) shiny and oily? I have a few more korean skin care products that I have just ordered from Jolse, they won’t be here for a month and I think by then my Innisfree line would be finished so I’m thinking of switching. I’m open to ideas and advice as I am very new to this :) feel free to share your skin care routine at the comments section:)
ROSEHIP PLUS-Certified Organic Rosehip Oil
What is Beta Glucan and what does it do for your skin? Welllll, it's a large molecule made up of a bunch of sugar molecules, starch and cellulose bonded together. Studies have shown that it can help treat dermatitis, ezcema, wounds and burns. It essential helps boost your skin barrier, especially if it's compromised, and tells your skin to fight pathogens. It also deeply hydrates the skin and is 20% more hydrating then hyaluronic acid. With all that in mind I was so excited to give @jkosmmune_cosmetics line a try (and extra excited when I won their giveaway of almost their entire line)! I've used Beta Glucan in the past after receiving a DMK treatment - my skin healed sooo quickly from the treatment when using the serum with Beta Glucan. I've tried all of the products from the line, including the serum which isn't pictured and I purchased on my own, and have been loving them! The cleanser is surprising jumped up my list of favorites to the top! All the products are extremely hydrating, but not too hydrating that I get oily throughout the day. Have you tried the line or any other Beta Glucan products? What did you think? I've seen some great reviews for other brands that include the ingredient! Overall Rating: 4/5 - I've seen some mixed reviews on beta glucan and fungal acne, if that's a concern I'd be wary!

My Mental Wellness Improved Through My Self AcceptanceWhen I was around 13 or 14 years old, I remember routinely taking one of my older sister’s black eyeliner pencils before school every morning. I’d arrive early so that I could slip away to the girl’s bathroom to apply a single black line to my eyelids. My parents didn’t allow me to wear any makeup at the time. Although this smudgy line on my eyelids didn’t make me look all that much different, I never felt comfortable at school without it. My teenage mind convinced myself that I needed some sort of cosmetic symbol in order to appropriately express my femininity. Up until that point in my life, society had told girls that looked like me - tall, Black, and with kinky hair - that we somehow weren’t as beautiful as the other girls. For far too long, I believed it too.Feb. 17
