Bluelight glasses and 5 other at-home-work tips
I have been working from home for about three years and I love it. I realize some people will have to take time to adjust, but I wanted to give a few tips on how to get the most from working at home.
1. Carve out a work area so your home doesn’t feel like your workplace is infiltrating your safe space.
2. Get up and walk around much as you can. Stretching is a must. Yoga is a bonus. Humans aren’t meant to sit in one position for 8 to 10 hours. My chiropractor tells me that all of the time.
4. Invest in a pair of blue light glasses. I purchased #Sojos - Cat Eye Blue Light Blocking Glasses Hipster Metal Frame[products]#from Amazon for about $20. Blue light is emitted from your TV, smartphone, laptop, desktop, tablet and video games. THAT IS A LOT. Blue light causes eye strain, dry eyes, blurred vision, headaches, and neck, shoulder and back pain. The blue light exposure we get from our devices is a part of the same “visible light spectrum and is emitted by the sun.” Call me crazy, but maybe we combat all of that.
5. TAKE YOUR BREAK. It can be easy to forget to do it, but you need to.
6. When you clock out, clock out!
I hope this helped.
Let me know, what you have done to make yourself more productive while working at home.
My clean lifestyle includes reducing my 👣
Like I said in the video, I want to do what I can to not be an unconscious contributor to landfills. The Return to Origins’ recycling program, which started in 2009, is a great way to do that.
Origins takes any empty cosmetic packages — tubes, bottles and jars — and converts that packaging into energy or properly recycled the ones that can be converted. (No sponges, tweezers, trial-size packaging, paper boxes or plastic wrapping.)
BLACK LIVES BEFORE SKINCARE CONTENT 🖤🤎💛🤍
It is redundant for me explain what’s been going on in the United States.
With the chaos depicted on media, it is important to remember one thing: black lives have been unjustly taken by police violence for a very long time.
There is understandable anger.
Peaceful protests aren’t always the answer.
Unnecessary destruction on both sides, however, has been committed.
POC-owned small businesses that have already been struggling don’t deserve to be the subjects of further destruction. They are last to get bailed out by government.
Don’t be fooled by media. Most protestors are still non-violent.
White supremists have initiated some of the looting to make people of color look bad. Black people get filmed because it’s a better story.
Police have also initiated preemptive violence on peaceful protestors.
Stay safe out there. Be conscious. And live intentionally.
Remember that racism starts small- from the seemingly “harmless” lack of inclusive foundation shades to the slaying of lives based on skin color.
Please don’t tell me that this post is not relevant here.
The beauty industry is governed by racist politics. Only recently have there been changes. Beauty trends inherently seek to exclude based on our complexion. High-end brands act as gatekeepers to good skin.
The skincare and beauty industry is complicit in anti-blackness and so are we, as non-Black contributors to the beauty space.
We all can do better. 🖤🤎💛🤍
