My Acne Skincare Routine - Results in 4 DaysāØ
I have always struggled with dry skin + acne since I was 18 and the moment I saw significant results on my acne, I knew that the only way I could find the one product to work on my skin type is if I get myself educated and open to trying out new things even if I think it wonāt work since I am acne-prone.
SWIPE LEFT TO SEE MY RESULTS: I started taking photos of myself to keep track of what Iāve been using that I canāt see by looking in the mirror everyday! (PRO TIP)
So, Iām so glad to finally share this for everyone to keep in mind when trying out products and hopefully it will encourage you to try it out for yourself. Of course you need to do your research but hey, skincare is all about trial and error right? At least now you know what you donāt know!
Hereās a sneak peak of my acne skincare routinešš¼
DAILY AM & PM ROUTINE:
Cetaphil - Cetaphil Gentle Foaming Cleanser
ļæ¼1 squeeze + to gentle cleanse my sensitive skin
The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%
ļæ¼2 drops + for extra and clear overall imperfections
The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5
ļæ¼2-3 drops + bring hydration to my skin
CeraVe - Moisturizing Cream For Normal To Dry Skin
ļæ¼1 inch or fingertip size + to moisturize
CeraVe - Ultra-Light Moisturizing Lotion SPF 30 For Normal To Oily Skin
ļæ¼half a pump + I use it as my sunscreen for anti-aging
Benzagel - Acne Gel 5%
ļæ¼the reason why I got results in 4 days! Less is more due to concentration. I only applied on acne spots
A few tips while using the products + keep in mind:
ļæ¼For each products, I wait 1 min each to let it seep in to my skin
ļæ¼applied by pressing the product on my skin to avoid premature aging
ļæ¼applied my moisturizer and sunscreen lifting upwards (never down or circular motion) and enough to disperse the product but not as much touching my skin, if that makes sense
ļæ¼I stopped picking my skin especially even if it was flaky! I had that habit for a couple of months which made my acne worst with marks before I tried the benzoly. So please take everyoneās advise on this! If you had to scratch your nose or youāre itchy, I usually just lightly press my fingernails on my skin. Weird but it helped to avoid irritation while I have my products on and if your hands are 100% clean, it wonāt do anything + itch is gone! I hope you understood what I mean by pressing your fingernails
ļæ¼Consistency and discpline is key! I donāt know why people donāt include disciple because without it, consistency is nothing. Itās also like saying something you donāt mean
ļæ¼Notice that I include how much I used? Less is more and clearly, you can see the difference
ļæ¼Notice how I only took a photo on the left side of my face? That can only mean because of my pillow. Please change it!
ļæ¼Of course 4 days isnāt enough to get clear skin but itās always a step closer to reach my goals so patience is also key!

šMOST REPURCHASED ORDINARY PRODUCTSš
The ordinary is definitely one of the hottest brands of 2020. They formulate single ingredient products that definitely work!
In august 2020, I entered the skincare community, completely a newbie, didnāt know about ingredients, or what was good/bad for my skin.
The ordinary was the first brand that I was introduced to, and the nicinamide & hyaluronic acid were the first two products that I ordered.
The niacinamide works amazing. It does tend to be a bit sticky, and it does sting if I have any blemishes on my face that are exposed to air (aka I popped it, donāt tell my derm š¤). If they made a 5%, I would be allll over it.
Hyaluronic acid serum is amazing. Applies smoothly, absorbed quickly. Literally everything you want in a hyaluronic acid serum.
The mask is great! I only use this mask in my t-zone when I feel like Iām producing more oil than normal. My cheeks are dry, so I dont use this mask on those areas.
All in all, big fan of the ordinary, but moving forward I may dive into products with multiple benefits all in one product!

The products are really one and the same, but without examining the ingredients i couldnāt state that as fact. hyaluronic acid/b5 is great for: skin repair, plumping, soothing, hydrating, retaining moisture and inflammation! in essence keeping skin looking young, fresh and healthy !
š§š§š§
the visible difference between these is the price.
the medik8 product is approx. £32-£40 depending on where you buy and the ordinary one is £6.
The ordinary: this was more sticky and thick. a little bit of the product gave very good coverage. but it took a while to absorb / dry and felt a bit like a paste on my face. once it dried and absorbed fully, i had a tingly / tightening sensation, which to me signals the product is absorbing!
medik8: this is not sticky, and is a lot thinner, so you need more product to cover the same sized area. it dried and absorbed very quickly and left no sticky trace. I also experienced a tingly and tightening sensation on my face pretty much at the same time as with the ordinary serum. so I know both are effective! š¤š§š¤afterthoughts: the effects are the same, and despite the stickyness of the ordinaryās hyaluronic acid, I would like to continue to use it as its a lot cheaper. In fact, after a while where I used the ordinary my skin felt more hydrated, softer and more moisturised! (5/5)!!!šš»
lovinaloca also recommends avoiding the glossier hyaluronic & b5, as it felt super diluted and left no sensation or moisture on her face! (1/5)šš»
Medik8-HYDR8 B5 Liquid Rehydration Serum
Empty! The Ordinary HA serum
The hyaluronic acid 2%+B5 is a product which i use for extra hydration. Just this serum on it own doesn't give me the hydration I need but I love to use as an additional serum in my routine to add the extra boost of Hydrating effects. One of the tacky serums but I like the tackiness and the way my skin looks.
The Ordinary-Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5
Iāve written a review of this cutie from The Ordinary: Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5.
I really love this stuff, it really moisturizes my face without leaving it oily. It can be used with other ingredients that tend to make your face a bit dry to ease the process and the dryness.
Iāve almost emptied my bottle and I sure will be repurchasing this because itās so darn affordable!

Plumping & Hydrating!
Im 26 years old and realized that my skin and lips won't stay plump forever! Because our skin produces hyaluronic acid naturally and it starts slowing down a bit, why not give it a little boost! I love The Ordinary, they have amazing products for an amazing price you cannot beat! This hyaluronic acid is a dream! I use it every night and let me tell you, it's been amazing seeing results! I wake up with skin feeling and looking hydrated and plump! I cannot describe how much I love this product! If you use it during the day, make sure you wear sunscreen because your skin will be very sensitive after putting on an acid. I just love this product for locking in moisture, keeping my skin hydrated and plump! I want to keep my face as young as possible!!

The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid
The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5
I bought this to try and combat my extra dry skin in the coldest part of January. I wore it under my foundation and at night under moisturizer going to bed. This stuff would pill so badly under my foundation and actually felt like it was drying out my skin rather than hydrating it. It would make my face peel even more, which was weird for something thatās supposed to be hydrating. Iām trying to use it up since I bought it and now Iām stuck with it, but I wonāt be repurchasing. This was not worth it.

$6.8 Vs. $ 60, The Ordinary Vs. NIOD, My Answer Is... š¤«š¤«
NIOD and The Ordinary are both skincare lines of Deciem in Canada, but the price of NIOD($60) is ten times higher than that of The Ordinary($6.80). Today I'll be talking about Bio-Sodium Hyaluronate, which is also known as hyaluronic acid. And btw, I have combo skin.
I prefer the NIOD - Multi-Molecular Hyaluronic Complex as it has a better price, texture, and effect compared withThe Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5.
It has a more watery texture and it's not sticky at all. It is also scent-free.
⢠Ingredients/Effects: After applying it onto the skin, the molecules of hyaluronic acid become more stable, enabling it to stay longer in our body. Apart from the immediate moisturizing effect, it also allows the molecules to reach the bottom of the muscles to promote and maintain the synthesis of natural hyaluronic acid, achieving a long-lasting effect.
The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5:
It has a moisturizing, sticky, gel-like, liquid texture that is scent-free.
⢠Ingredients/Effects: It has higher requirements on the external environment compared with NIOD. This means that, if the climate is dry, your skin will also feel dry when it's applied, but if the climate is humid, your skin will feel moisturized when it's applied
To sum up, if you have enough of a budget and you need a long-lasting, pure hyaluronic acid serum, choose NIOD. If you're in a humid climate and you need a basic moisturizing serum, choose The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid.
Have you used any of these? Let me knowš
