jane iredale - BeautyPrep Hyaluronic Serum
Key Ingredients: Hydrolyzed Ulva Lactuca (sea lettuce extract that has skin-soothing and antioxidant properties), Sodium Hyaluronate (salt form of hyaluronic acid that allows the skin to more easily absorb the hydrating benefits because it penetrates deeper), and Glycerin (hydrates the skin). Scent: A slight perfume scent Price Point: $52 for 0.57 oz Experience: The directions say to only use this once a day. Since it has BeautyPrep in the name, I prefer using it in the morning since it makes me think of makeup lol. I use it in between essence and serum (if I use another serum in my routine) or moisturizer (if this is the only serum I use). I’ve been used it for a month or so and didn’t see any special effects (more than any other Hyaluronic Acid serum). The serum is lightweight and seamlessly absorbs into my skin and makes it feel hydrated and not sticky. The pump style packaging is very convenient and the glass packaging is very luxe. It’s a nice product, plus I like the added antioxidant properties. . The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5
Key Ingredients: Next-generation Hyaluronic Acid Polymer (according to their page on Sephora, it’s a cross-linked form of hyaluronic acid that enhances the delivery of HA actives and helps to support water density) and Vitamin B5 (hydrates). Scent: None Price Point: $6.80 for 1 oz Experience: Whenever I use this product, I use it both day and nights. I use it in between essence and serum (if I use another serum in my routine) or moisturizer (if this is the only serum I use). I’ve tried using this with and without essence, without using other serum, and various moisturizers, it is such a picky product. It pills so badly with a good amount of products I’ve tried it with. It also can leave the skin feeling sticky if you use too much. It’s also hard to control the amount of serum that comes out of the dropper because it’s so runny and easily splashed out (even when you don’t squeeze the topper for it to come out, it’s so runny it comes out on it’s own). Once you find the perfect ratio and products to make it work, it’s a nice product and does provide a good amount of hydration. Once I got the perfect routine for this to work, I noticed an improvement in a week! But not sure if it’s honestly worth the hassle of trying it with all these various products to make it work. . Overall: I’m meh about both of these products honestly. I do enjoy the Jane Iredale product, but in no way do I think it’s worth $52. Heck, I don’t even think it’d be worth it on sale for half off (I got it free as a gift with purchase from Ulta). The Ordinary HA serum is very finicky and the packaging is difficult. I would recommend the Good Molecules HA serum over these, but if I had to choose between these two, I would suggest trying the Ordinary one because it’s more affordable and can play around with which products to pair it with to make it work.

EyerusHave you tried applying the Ordinary HA over slightly damp skin? I’ve been applying my products that way and it works great for me

HA Serum Face-Off
Hyaluronic acid (HA) is naturally made by the body and the largest concentration of it in the body is found in the skin. This makes it a good product for even sensitive skin since there’s a low chance of irritation. HA is known for its moisturizing abilities because it draws moisture to the skin for long-lasting hydration. The makes skin appear smooth, supple, and well-hydrated and defends against dehydration over time. It causes the skin to look smoother and plumper because it replenishes the top layers of the skin (since the molecular size is so big, it sits on top of the skin and hydrated the top layers of the skin). HA is also a good layering serum before using other skincare items. I enjoy this ingredient so much because I have noticed a significant increase in the hydration of my skin and not getting dry spots as often, and an increase in the tone and smoothness of my skin because my acne scars on my cheeks have became less noticeable since introducing this ingredient. . GOOD MOLECULES - Hyaluronic Acid Serum contains three types of HA with different molecular weights, which allows it to penetrate multiple layers of the skin. This serum also contains Vitamin B5, which is a water-soluble vitamin that hydrated and nourishes the skin. The advantages of this product are the price (only $6 for 1 oz 😱🤩), the texture of this is so lightweight and easily sinks into the skin (small wait time between applying my next skincare item), and the instant feeling of hydration and relief I feel after applying this product (my skin immediately soaks it up and looks plumper and healthier). . The jane iredale - BeautyPrep Hyaluronic Serum doesn’t specify any special ingredients they added to their serum besides the basic benefits of HA. Honestly, I only see cons with this one 🙈 the price is CRAZY compared to the Good Molecules one ($52 for 0.57 oz 💀), has a thicker consistency that specifies only to use 1-2 pumps and to be used only once a day. My face does feel somewhat hydrated when I first apply this, but nothing anything different than the other HA serum 🤷🏻‍♀️. It also feels more tacky and I can feel that I have it on. . Overall, the cheaper alternative is definitely the winner for me! Why pay more for the same instant feeling when applying it? I also like that the Good Molecules one can be used morning AND night (versus the once a day for the Jane Iredale). I will only repurchase the Good Molecules one. Using this day and night, it lasted me about a month to two months and for $6, I can afford that! Even with spreading out the other serum to once a day, it’s still half the size of the Good Molecules and way more expensive.

My Acne Skincare Routine - Results in 4 Days✨
I have always struggled with dry skin + acne since I was 18 and the moment I saw significant results on my acne, I knew that the only way I could find the one product to work on my skin type is if I get myself educated and open to trying out new things even if I think it won’t work since I am acne-prone. SWIPE LEFT TO SEE MY RESULTS: I started taking photos of myself to keep track of what I’ve been using that I can’t see by looking in the mirror everyday! (PRO TIP) So, I’m so glad to finally share this for everyone to keep in mind when trying out products and hopefully it will encourage you to try it out for yourself. Of course you need to do your research but hey, skincare is all about trial and error right? At least now you know what you don’t know! Here’s a sneak peak of my acne skincare routine👇🏼 DAILY AM & PM ROUTINE: Cetaphil - Cetaphil Gentle Foaming Cleanser 1 squeeze + to gentle cleanse my sensitive skin The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% 2 drops + for extra and clear overall imperfections The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 2-3 drops + bring hydration to my skin CeraVe - Moisturizing Cream For Normal To Dry Skin 1 inch or fingertip size + to moisturize CeraVe - Ultra-Light Moisturizing Lotion SPF 30 For Normal To Oily Skin half a pump + I use it as my sunscreen for anti-aging Benzagel - Acne Gel 5% the reason why I got results in 4 days! Less is more due to concentration. I only applied on acne spots A few tips while using the products + keep in mind: For each products, I wait 1 min each to let it seep in to my skin applied by pressing the product on my skin to avoid premature aging applied my moisturizer and sunscreen lifting upwards (never down or circular motion) and enough to disperse the product but not as much touching my skin, if that makes sense I stopped picking my skin especially even if it was flaky! I had that habit for a couple of months which made my acne worst with marks before I tried the benzoly. So please take everyone’s advise on this! If you had to scratch your nose or you’re itchy, I usually just lightly press my fingernails on my skin. Weird but it helped to avoid irritation while I have my products on and if your hands are 100% clean, it won’t do anything + itch is gone! I hope you understood what I mean by pressing your fingernails Consistency and discpline is key! I don’t know why people don’t include disciple because without it, consistency is nothing. It’s also like saying something you don’t mean Notice that I include how much I used? Less is more and clearly, you can see the difference Notice how I only took a photo on the left side of my face? That can only mean because of my pillow. Please change it! Of course 4 days isn’t enough to get clear skin but it’s always a step closer to reach my goals so patience is also key!

🌟MOST REPURCHASED ORDINARY PRODUCTS🌟
The ordinary is definitely one of the hottest brands of 2020. They formulate single ingredient products that definitely work! In august 2020, I entered the skincare community, completely a newbie, didn’t know about ingredients, or what was good/bad for my skin. The ordinary was the first brand that I was introduced to, and the nicinamide & hyaluronic acid were the first two products that I ordered. The niacinamide works amazing. It does tend to be a bit sticky, and it does sting if I have any blemishes on my face that are exposed to air (aka I popped it, don’t tell my derm 🤐). If they made a 5%, I would be allll over it. Hyaluronic acid serum is amazing. Applies smoothly, absorbed quickly. Literally everything you want in a hyaluronic acid serum. The mask is great! I only use this mask in my t-zone when I feel like I’m producing more oil than normal. My cheeks are dry, so I dont use this mask on those areas. All in all, big fan of the ordinary, but moving forward I may dive into products with multiple benefits all in one product!

The products are really one an
The products are really one and the same, but without examining the ingredients i couldn’t state that as fact. hyaluronic acid/b5 is great for: skin repair, plumping, soothing, hydrating, retaining moisture and inflammation! in essence keeping skin looking young, fresh and healthy ! 💧💧💧 the visible difference between these is the price. the medik8 product is approx. £32-£40 depending on where you buy and the ordinary one is £6.  The ordinary: this was more sticky and thick. a little bit of the product gave very good coverage. but it took a while to absorb / dry and felt a bit like a paste on my face. once it dried and absorbed fully, i had a tingly / tightening sensation, which to me signals the product is absorbing! medik8: this is not sticky, and is a lot thinner, so you need more product to cover the same sized area. it dried and absorbed very quickly and left no sticky trace. I also experienced a tingly and tightening sensation on my face pretty much at the same time as with the ordinary serum. so I know both are effective! 🤔🧐🤓afterthoughts: the effects are the same, and despite the stickyness of the ordinary’s hyaluronic acid, I would like to continue to use it as its a lot cheaper. In fact, after a while where I used the ordinary my skin felt more hydrated, softer and more moisturised! (5/5)!!!👍🏻 lovinaloca also recommends avoiding the glossier hyaluronic & b5, as it felt super diluted and left no sensation or moisture on her face! (1/5)👎🏻

Empty! The Ordinary HA serum
The hyaluronic acid 2%+B5 is a product which i use for extra hydration. Just this serum on it own doesn't give me the hydration I need but I love to use as an additional serum in my routine to add the extra boost of Hydrating effects. One of the tacky serums but I like the tackiness and the way my skin looks.

I’ve written a review of this
I’ve written a review of this cutie from The Ordinary: Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5. I really love this stuff, it really moisturizes my face without leaving it oily. It can be used with other ingredients that tend to make your face a bit dry to ease the process and the dryness. I’ve almost emptied my bottle and I sure will be repurchasing this because it’s so darn affordable!

Plumping & Hydrating!
Plumping & Hydrating!
Im 26 years old and realized that my skin and lips won't stay plump forever! Because our skin produces hyaluronic acid naturally and it starts slowing down a bit, why not give it a little boost! I love The Ordinary, they have amazing products for an amazing price you cannot beat! This hyaluronic acid is a dream! I use it every night and let me tell you, it's been amazing seeing results! I wake up with skin feeling and looking hydrated and plump! I cannot describe how much I love this product! If you use it during the day, make sure you wear sunscreen because your skin will be very sensitive after putting on an acid. I just love this product for locking in moisture, keeping my skin hydrated and plump! I want to keep my face as young as possible!!

The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid
The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid
The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 I bought this to try and combat my extra dry skin in the coldest part of January. I wore it under my foundation and at night under moisturizer going to bed. This stuff would pill so badly under my foundation and actually felt like it was drying out my skin rather than hydrating it. It would make my face peel even more, which was weird for something that’s supposed to be hydrating. I’m trying to use it up since I bought it and now I’m stuck with it, but I won’t be repurchasing. This was not worth it.

$6.8 Vs. $ 60, The Ordinary Vs. NIOD, My Answer Is... 🤫🤫
$6.8 Vs. $ 60, The Ordinary Vs. NIOD, My Answer Is... 🤫🤫
NIOD and The Ordinary are both skincare lines of Deciem in Canada, but the price of NIOD($60) is ten times higher than that of The Ordinary($6.80). Today I'll be talking about Bio-Sodium Hyaluronate, which is also known as hyaluronic acid. And btw, I have combo skin.  I prefer the NIOD - Multi-Molecular Hyaluronic Complex as it has a better price, texture, and effect compared withThe Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5. It has a more watery texture and it's not sticky at all. It is also scent-free. • Ingredients/Effects: After applying it onto the skin, the molecules of hyaluronic acid become more stable, enabling it to stay longer in our body. Apart from the immediate moisturizing effect, it also allows the molecules to reach the bottom of the muscles to promote and maintain the synthesis of natural hyaluronic acid, achieving a long-lasting effect. The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5: It has a moisturizing, sticky, gel-like, liquid texture that is scent-free. • Ingredients/Effects: It has higher requirements on the external environment compared with NIOD. This means that, if the climate is dry, your skin will also feel dry when it's applied, but if the climate is humid, your skin will feel moisturized when it's applied To sum up, if you have enough of a budget and you need a long-lasting, pure hyaluronic acid serum, choose NIOD. If you're in a humid climate and you need a basic moisturizing serum, choose The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid. Have you used any of these? Let me know😘
