Tik Tok Challenge - Clean Beauty Sponge
While perusing the #beautyhacks on Tik Tok, I found a video about how to clean your BeautyBlender by @/glamnanne1 and decided to recreate it since I have a difficult time cleaning my Beauty Sponge. . Materials: Beauty Sponge, Cleansing agent (either solid soap meant specifically for cleansing sponges or the video said regular soap worked fine), and a microwave safe bowl (and a microwave). . Accomplishes: Cleans your Beauty Sponge! It gets rid of the germs that brushes can harbor and makes it look clean and new! . Steps: First, you hold the dirty Beauty Sponge under running water and squeeze it a couple time so it expands and gets big. Then swirl the damp Beauty Sponge in the solid soap so that it’s coated. Next, rub the soap into the soap and try and push all the product out. Then turn on the sink and wash the product out. These steps might need to be repeated a couple of times to ensure all the product is out. Lastly, grab a microwave safe bowl and fill it up halfway and drop the Beauty Sponge in the water and put it in the microwave for 30 seconds. Carefully remove the bowl because it will be hot, rinse the Beauty Sponge under cold water and squeeze it. . For the Beauty Sponge, I’ve been using my new Beauty Bakerie sponges that I recently bought at Ulta when they were half off the other week. The solid soap I have is from Japonesque. You can tell from the before picture, my sponge was pretty dirty. After the first step of using only the solid brush soap, it got pretty clean, but I had to do three rounds of swishing it around the soap and rubbing it in. Even after the water ran clear from squishing the sponge in it, it still had some staining on the bottom. After heating the sponge up and rinsing it in cold water, the sponge had less staining! While it doesn’t look as pretty as the end result of the girl on Tik Tok, it still looks better than when I normally clean it with just the soap. Also, the heat seems like a good addition to this routine since heat kills germs, so hopefully it killed any that were still inside the sponge. So I think this trick really does work and would recommend it to others because it definitely revived my Beauty Sponge and made it look better than it did. I will definitely keep using this way to clean my sponges. ✅

Hello🤍:) (WARNING: real life talk) (Nervous about posting this but I feel like more people should know 💕please don’t hate or leave mean comments) So I know what you guys are thinking but give me a chance here😹I know this is for makeup and skincare and hair products etc BUT I NEED to share this. Ladies, periods are real. And so is garbage on the earth. Worldwide, 100 billion used menstrual products fill up earths landfills. :( poor Earth. And I’m glad that I no longer contribute to that. This year I switched over to a menstrual cup. I did plenty of research and watched plenty of videos. The reason is because pads and tampons irritate me, and I wanted to try something new so I went on a hunt. That’s when I came across menstrual cups. I’ve heard about them before but never cared to look into it because I thought it was gross. Boy was I wrong. Anywho, so I ended up taking a quiz and I answered a few questions online and the Saalt cup is the one that this website picked out for me based on the questions I answered. Keep in mind that there are plenty of different brands with plenty of different shapes and sizes for what is perfect for you. You do have to keep these very clean and I mean VERY sanitary. While on my cycle I boiled it every single day and of course I washed it with a mild soap and warm water if I had to change it during the day. To use these you definitely have to be comfortable with your body and not afraid of blood. At the end of the day it’s your body and you should be proud of it :) Most brands provide you with a little baggie to keep your cup in after you clean it to take with you in your purse or to just store in order to keep it sanitary. Also just a little note, if you have long acrylic nails or just long nails in general, this might not be the thing for you. Because you don’t want to get any bacteria under your nails. I grew up a nailbiter so I naturally have very very short nails. Also think about how much money you’ll be saving on period products because those really add up :) NOTE: there is a learning curve. A lot of women talk about it being very difficult for them for a while but once they got the hang of it it was like a piece of cake 🍰. For me I didn’t really have a learning curve I kind of got lucky with understanding the whole thing on the first go :) Thank you for reading. If you are actually considering getting one, YouTube will be your best friend to answer any questions about these. So many women and girls do so many different reviews on different cups. And it really helps :) 🤍 Saalt in particular is made in the USA 🥳 so that’s a plus! And the packaging is really classy as well. But again, pick the brand and shape best for you ❣️ (Especially with the covid-19 situation going on, stores are all on low supply of items, including pads and tampons) #Saalt Company - Saalt Menstrual Cup[products]#[FiveStars]
Going Makeup Free in Quarantine = Happy Skin!
The past four months have been full of change for all of us and the biggest shift has involved staying home and inside more often. With all my time spent at home, I’ve found myself letting my skin breathe and forgoing my old daily makeup routine of concealer, powder, and blush. Although this wasn’t initially done for the health of my skin in mind more than it was inspired by the fact that I was just spending all my time in bed, this break has ended up working wonders for my skin and my appreciation for being bare-faced! I used to struggle with spots on my cheeks and on my forehead quite often. Not only has my skin calmed down and cleared up, I’ve realized how much more comfortable I feel embracing my natural skin on a daily basis! This photo of me without makeup was taken last week after a month of going makeup free. I still love my makeup and will occasionally get done up for fun, but it’s been wonderful for both my skin and my comfort with it to just let it breathe. ♥️ I’d love to know if anyone else has been feeling the same!
