🥗 Superfood Skincare 🥗
🥗 Superfood Skincare 🥗
I have normal skin with my main skincare concerns being preventing/treating acne, fading past acne marks, and dehydration. Superfoods are common in the nutrition words, but they’re mainly just buzzwords to garner attention! I’ve found it’s the same with with skincare 🤷🏼‍♀️ . I got this ELEMIS - Superfood Vital Veggie Mask in a BoxyCharm box last year and it’s just meh. It costs $35 for this 2.5 oz mask! That the directions say to leave on for 10 minutes!! They claim the special ingredients are various (mainly) veggies and (some) fruits that produce the product with special benefits. I’m not quite sure how a product that’s only on your skin for a few minutes can make that big of a difference, but I’d rather splurge on a serum or moisturizer. This skincare trend of superfoods is mainly just new buzzwords, if you really want a difference in your routine I’d stick with salicylic acid or hyaluronic acid or other well known and studied ingredients. This mask has such an overwhelming scent of essential oils, something I’ve noticed with most Elemis products. It has a typical mask like texture and is easily washed off. I also haven’t noticed any difference in my skin while using this mask. I expected about this much from a mask, but not impressed at all and wouldn’t recommend or repurchase. I would be interested in trying a serum or moisturizer from the superfood trend, but not from this brand. I like trying new products so intrigued to see how other superfood skincare works, but not too expecting any noticeable results. . #cheriepartners

🎃 Halloween Makeup Removal 🎃
🎃 Halloween Makeup Removal 🎃
My skin type is normal with my skin concerns being preventing/treating acne, making my skin tone more even, and dehydration. This is my typical skincare routine for when I exfoliate and mask, which I would do twice a week. I’d suggest this for removing Halloween makeup to make sure you’ve actually removed it all and didn’t accidentally leave any behind! This routine makes sure all the makeup is removed, but isn’t too harsh/drying/stripping to the skin. . Cleansing Balm: ULTA BEAUTY - Cleansing Balm $6 at Ulta, the cheapest cleansing balm I’ve found and works amazing! It’s important to use a cleansing balm or oil to effectively and gently remove makeup. This one doesn’t have a scent and has the perfect slightly gritty texture that easily transforms into an spreadable type product. It does take a little effort to remove eye makeup, so would recommend going in with a micellar water before and using this to ensure all eye makeup is removed. It is formulated with coconut oil, Shea butter and avocado oil to help improve dry skin with their moisturizing benefits. The first layer of the product is very hard and difficult to use, but once you get past that first layer, it’s a dream and a great cleansing balm! It doesn’t leave behind a greasy film. I will definitely recommend and repurchase because it’s so cheap and does the job! . Exfoliating Face Wash: reflekt - 1 Daily Exfoliating Face Wash is around $50 (received from the company) and worth the splurge! I’ve been using this twice a week as my exfoliating product, but you could use it more often because it’s very gentle. It’s formulated with hyaluronic acid, jojoba esters, vegetable collagen, and vitamin B5. This product cleanses, exfoliates, and hydrates to help balance the skin. This is a great step as a second cleanser to ensure you get the leftover reside that can sometimes happen with first cleanses and the makeup that the first cleanse didn’t get. It doesn’t have any scent and would be great for any skin type because it is gentle and not harsh. I would purchase and recommend because only using it a couple times a week will make it last and it’s such a nice treat to look forward to on exfoliating days. . Hydrating Mask: SEPHORA COLLECTION - Mask Stick is less than $10! Currently on sale for $4 👀 It smells like watermelon and has a neat clay formula that easily applies with the skin application. It is formulated with watermelon to help nourish the skin. Hydrating masks are great for help to give the skin back some moisture after the exfoliating step. This mask doesn’t dry out the skin like some clay masks do and the stick application is so handy and mess free! It’s also a nice quick mask (5 mins) so you can go on about your night afterwards and go to bed! I will definitely repurchase and recommend these masks because they give a slight effect to the skin (nothing major), mess free, and cheap! . #cheriepartner

✨ Potential Mascara Dupes?? ✨
✨ Potential Mascara Dupes?? ✨
I love having my eyelashes as long and dark as I can make them, I know some people don’t like spider lashes but like the look. It might not be for everyone but that’s what I look for from my mascaras. I rarely buy mascara anymore because it comes so often in gift with purchases but will when it goes on sale! These two wands looked similar so I thought I’d see how they compared! . The MAYBELLINE - Mascara Lash Sensational is a drugstore mascara that only about $10 but there’s often sales or coupons for it. Maybelline claims it’s a patented fanning brush with 10 layers of bristles that creates a full flourish of lashes and that the formula coats all lashes. This formula is a very wet formula so it’s very easy to get it on your eyelid and mess up your eyeshadow. It also makes it take a little longer for your lashes to dry so if you sneeze you’ll get it everywhere. It’s also very easy to get clumpy looking quickly, after just one layer it begins looking clumpy. The brush is pretty big as well so can be an adjustment to get used to. The color is dark so I like that, however it smudges so bad even after an hour. I’ve never had a mascara smudge so bad. It’s also the hardest mascara I’ve ever had to remove. No micellar water or cleansing balm (or combo of both) I’ve tried can remove it. There’s always leftover on the lashes that I have to go back in with Dove soap to make sure I’ve actually removed it all. It feels like you really have to scrub with every type of cleanser to actually remove it and lose a few eyelashes with the removal process. . The benefit - Roller Lash Curling & Lifting Mascara is a high end mascara that retails for $13 for the mini and $25 for the full size (however there are value kits often). They claim the brush grabs, separates, lifts and curls that holds for 12 hours. This brush is a good size on both the mini and full size that has a nice formula that sets quickly and doesn’t smudge that badly. I get a little smudging every few hours, but that’s normal for every mascara. It comes off rather easily with micellar water or cleansing balm. It doesn’t feel like a hassle to remove. . Overall, I definitely prefer the benefit - Roller Lash Curling & Lifting Mascara for the look it gives, minimal amount of smudging and easy removal process! It’s gone on sale for half off (picked up a full size) so I’d recommend waiting for a sale to pick it up! It also comes in free gift with purchases often. I’ve been using the combo of both of these, the Benefit first followed by the Maybelline and it gives a nice look that makes the lashes look full and dark and the look I’m going for. . #cheriepartner

🧫 Probiotics/Microbiome Skincare 🧫
I have normal skin with skincare concerns being treating/preventing acne, fading acne scars and dehydration. In the past year or two, skincare products focusing on the microbiome of your skin has become a huge trend. These types of products include ones that contain pre- and probiotics. I got a couple of the KORRES - Greek Yoghurt Nourishing Probiotic Gel-Cream mini/deluxe size moisturizers in Sephora Favorites sets and as gift with purchases from Sephora. What’s intrigued me about this trend is how these types of products is how they nourish and enrich the skin, which helps to solve various skincare concerns. I like how the ingredients aren’t harsh and are very soothing to the skin so it’s suited for various skin types and concerns. I am waiting for more research done on this topic to actually prove all the claimed benefits. After using up a few other minis of this product, it really has lived up to my expectations! It definitely makes me want to recommend this to others and will likely repurchase if I see it on sale. It is nourishing to my skin when it’s oily without making it look or feel oily and it has enough moisture to help me when my skin is dry and flaky. I’ve been using it AM and PM and have been loving the results, my skin looks and feels more hydrated, nourished, even and glowy. . #cheriepartner

🇬🇷 Korres Foaming Cream Cleanser 🇬🇷
🇬🇷 Korres Foaming Cream Cleanser 🇬🇷
My skin is normal with acne, even skin tone and dehydration being my major skin concerns. Korres is a Greek company that is available at Sephora! I see this cleanser raves about often on Sephora and was glad to get it in a few gift with purchases and Sephora Favorites sets to try out. . It has a cream texture that easily turns to foam that easily spreads and has a light scent (like Greek yogurt kind of, a slight sweet smell). It’s a nourishing cream-to-foam, soap-free cleanser that’s formulated with naturally soothing Greek yoghurt and gentle enough for even the most sensitive skin. It’s formulated with Greek yoghurt (delivers a soothing super dose of pre and probiotics to nourish the skin) and Amaranth Seed Extract and Honeysuckle (provide soothing, calming comfort to the skin). It helps with dryness and redness. I’ve used this when my skin is being really sensitive and when it’s just normal to oily, it works great for all skin types! It’s gentle and doesn’t hurt or make my face burn at all, it doesn’t feel tight or uncomfortable. I’ve tried it as both a first/AM cleanse and second cleanser and prefer it as either an AM or second cleanse. It doesn’t totally remove my eye makeup, but it’s great to use any other time because it’s so gentle and not stripping. It cleanses the skin without causing any irritation or stripping of your natural moisture. I’m not sure I’m willing to pay full price for this cleanser though because it’s $15 for the mini size (2.54 oz / 75 mL), $26 for the full size (5.07 oz / 150 mL) and $54 (with a claimed $70 value) for the value size (13.53 oz / 400 mL). That’s just such a big splurge for me for something that’s on your face for only a minute tops. I’d grab it again if it went on sale, but wouldn’t pay full price for it. . #cheriepartner

🇧🇷 Sol de Janeiro Bum Bum Cream 🇧🇷
🇧🇷 Sol de Janeiro Bum Bum Cream 🇧🇷
My body gets pretty dry and itchy after I shave and in the winter, so need a good body lotion for them to help hydrate and nourish my legs. I thought this was a Brazilian company, but turns out they’re based in the USA so I was little shocked by that since their Insta bio saying “Skin-worshipping Brazilian Beauty.” I think it’s deceiving, but maybe that’s just me. Anyways, onto the product. I’ve seen this company and especially this SOL de Janeiro - Brazilian Bum Bum Cream all over Instagram! It seems like everyone and their mom loves this product 😂 Most of the posts I see about them seem to be PR though. I got this little mini as part of a Sephora Favorites set at Sephora. . The texture is a luxurious body cream that spreads easily and sinks in rather quick, but leaves behind a greasy feeling on me. I’ve also noticed it has glitter specks in it, but that just be something weird I’ve noticed. The smell is very strong, so would recommend staying away from this if you are sensitive to fragrances, but it’s a summery scent with key notes of salted caramel, pistachio and vanilla. The fragrance family is described as warm and spicy and the scent type as warm and sweet gourmands. The company says the formula is infused with caffeine-rich guaraná and a Brazilian blend of skin-loving ingredients to help tighten and smooth the look of skin. I use this as a daily body lotion (like days I don’t shave my legs) it’s not moisturizing enough for me to use when I shave my legs. I find it’s nice as a daily body lotion in the spring or summer when my skin isn’t too dry or else it’s not enough for me. The scent is also incredibly strong and I shower at night so pointless since I’m not going anywhere and don’t want my sheets smelling like this. Honestly, I think it’s overhyped. It’s $20 for 2.5 oz / 75 mL or $45 for 8.1 oz / 240 mL! Like I don’t know how anyone can justify spending that much on body lotion that you’re going to fly through quickly, but that might just be me and my budget. I don’t notice anything special while using this lotion, especially no spectacular moisturizing effects, besides the scent. Personally I don’t really care about my lotions being scented so not something I’m looking for. I also don’t like how they say seem to insinuate they’re Brazilian when they’re really USA-based, I’d rather support a real Brazilian business that sells Brazilian products! Maybe I’m just overthinking it or reading it wrong, but this product is just meh for me. Don’t see the hype of this product 🤷🏼‍♀️ . #cheriepartners

I recieved a Freeman mask sampler set as a gift over christmas and am finally breaking into it! I personally am not a fan of the brand anymore because their ingredients can be quite irritating, but I'm determined to use up and rehome what I have. This mask was cooling and smelled delicious (like sweet watermelon!). It took sooo much work to get it off my skin. It doesn't just "wash off" you have to wipe and wipe and wipe. Do I recommend? Nope!

This is my second product from Glow Recipe! Their brand intrigues me 👀 This sample was great because I got soo much use out of it. The product didn't wow me however. It was nicely hydrating but I didn't notice any real improvement after about 5 days of consistent use. Overall, I like my cerave eye cream more and don't think this eye mask is worth the money. Do you have a favorite eye cream?

BEST DRY OIL

Another Sephora VIB Sale Purchase, and I picked this up because I love Sol de Janeiro Products and their smells. 🌟I also jumped on the bandwagon for the smell but honestly the smell is to die for because the products are moisturizing but the smell just lasts for so long! I get compliments throughout the day and the smell just keeps getting more and more potent!! 🌟The texture of this product is an oil with lots of shimmer, I usually apply this on top of lotion (non-scented) and this makes my legs look super glowy and healthy! It also makes my legs look super toned and long in pictures! This doesn’t stain anything and I just love how long the smell lasts on me. Love love this body oil because it also moisturizes the skin 🌟Do I recommend? Yes!!! They have a wide-variety of colors to suit any skin tone or any event you might want to use it for (from natural to music events) and are multi functional because I also use it on my shoulders to make my collarbones pop!! So i’m sure like me a lot of you have used physical scrubs way before tiktok, YouTube has taught us how harsh they are, but sometimes you just want a good scrub. If you know what I mean😌 My skin type: dry, combo, acne-prone, eczema skin🥺🙂 😍 so this scrub from Ole Henreiksen is so abrasive but also not at the same time, it gives you a good scrub, but I use this maybe once a month because physical scrubs can cause microtears in your skin. Most of the time I use chemical scrubs like lactic acid, or AHAs, which are so amazing! But sometimes to get the baby skin feeling I go towards physical scrubs because I just don’t think chemical scrub give me that feeling. Just me? Lol oops. But the texture of this product is granular since it has walnut but they’re small and don’t use it more than once a month!! (Please) Do I recommend? Yes, if you’re in the market for a good physical scrub! OLE HENRIKSEN - Transforming Walnut Scrub

Restarting my Acne Journey
Restarting my Acne Journey
Hi all! This is a little vulnerable for me: I usually never post or go outside without at least a bit of makeup. BUT! I’m restarting my efforts to fix my acne with a new routine, and I know there’s a lot of people who struggle with this. So, here’s my face! I’ve been using DIFFERIN - DIFFERIN Acne Treatment Gel for two weeks now and the purging is starting, so hopefully this is the worst it will get. I’m hoping with continued use to see some progress and to track it here! I have experienced stinging and some severe sensitivity while my skin gets used to it, but after two weeks the stinging is dying down. I’ve been dealing with hormonal/cystic acne for 10 years now, and believe it or not this is the best it’s been in years. I’ve slowly figured out what works for me, and wanted to share those tips. BUT, if I’ve learned anything in the past ten years about acne it’s that you need to listen to your own face: even if 1000% swear by something, if it doesn’t work for you, it doesn’t work for you. I have super oily skin, so if you have dry or combo, the listed routine will most likely not work. But for my oily pals, here’s the routine that’s improved my skin so far: Morning: FARMACY - Clean Bee Ultra Gentle Facial Cleanser I love how calming and non-stripping this cleanser is, but it still manages to reduce my oil FARMACY - Very Cherry Bright 15% Clean Vitamin C Serum with Acerola Cherry to target acne scarring Neutrogena - Hydro Boost Water Gel Sunscreen Lotion SPF 30 to protect from sun damage and irritation. I HAVE TO use a gel formula for moisturizers/sunscreens, or else I break out like crazy. That’s the number one issue I’ve figured out with my face. This one has a nice gel cream texture and is lightly moisturizing, but doesn’t turn me into an oil slick. Night: First cleanse/makeup removal with GOOD MOLECULES - Instant Cleansing Balm Second cleanse with FARMACY - Clean Bee Ultra Gentle Facial Cleanser Apply pea sized drop of DIFFERIN - DIFFERIN Acne Treatment Gel If my skin is feeling good and non-irritated, I use LANEIGE - Special Care Water Sleeping Mask for just a bit of moisture overnight If my skin is feeling irritated/tight, I’ll use GOOD MOLECULES - Squalane Oil for a heavier hit of moisture. If my skin is REALLY irritated, I follow with Dr. Jart+ - Cicapair Tiger Grass Calming Mist to try and calm my skin down So here we go! Hoping to see some improvements next month. Trying my best to be patient and consistent this time, which is the hardest but most important part. Thanks for reading, and good luck on your acne journey! #CherieCreator #acne #pimples #acnecare #cysticacne #hormonalacne
