Philosophy Purity Made Simple Cleanser
Philosophy Purity Made Simple Cleanser
I have typically oily skin that occasionally breaks out or gets dry spots. According to the Ulta website, “It’s a multi-tasking 3-in-1 approach to cleansing formulated with meadowfoam seed oil that helps lightly hydrate, leaving the skin comfortable, not pulled or tight and twelve-essential oils blend (including rosewood, sandalwood, and sage) helps soften, soothe, and rejuvenate the skin.” I’ve finished tons of minis of these and got a kit that included a full size of it. I find the cleanser doesn’t work well at removing makeup, it just smeared it around. It does work nice as a morning cleanser because it does keep my face hydrated and just removes the skincare from the night before and gives my morning routine a fresh base. It doesn’t have a scent. The texture is very nice and easily cleanses the face. I’m meh about this cleanser because I think there are cheaper cleansers that feel and look the same way. I wouldn’t recommend this cleanser because there are cheaper ones out there. This isn’t worth the price because that’s expensive for a product to just sit on your face for 60 seconds and then rinse it down the drain so it doesn’t make sense to splurge in that area for me. This company does donate a percentage back to the community in support of mental health and wellbeing, which is great! philosophy - Purity Made Simple Cleanser for Face & Eyes Price: $24 for 8.0 oz; $36 for 16.0 oz; $44 for 22.0 oz Rating: 4/5

St. Tropez Self Fhan Purity Face Mist
St. Tropez Self Fhan Purity Face Mist
I have typically oily skin that occasionally breaks out or gets dry spots. I have a light skin tone with neutral undertones that has acne scars along the sides of my cheeks. The purpose of this is that it helps achieve a natural looking golden tan that lasts for days. I got 2 of these last year whenever they went on sale for half off at Ulta during the 21 Days of Beauty in January. I used this for a couple of weeks after having it laying around for months and was meh about it. It did give me a nice tan, but if you used it a couple of days in a row, it definitely gave me an orange tint that wasn’t cute. I tried using it before and after my skincare routine and it worked fine both ways. I didn’t see much of a point to this because most of it came off in the morning whenever I used toner lol. I mean there was still somewhat of a tan, but didn’t think it through whenever I bought these. The mist is really fine and not harsh. There is a strong floral scent, so wouldn’t recommend this to those sensitive to fragrances. It can leave a noticeable mark where you stop spraying if you use it for more than a couple days. These are meh to me, they do what they say, but they come off for the most part whenever I use toner lol. I would recommend this to those searching for a good tanning solution for the face that’s easily applied in a mist form. I don’t think this is worth the price because you run through it so quick, but it is worth the effort since it just takes a few seconds to spritz it on and then wait a couple of minutes to let it sink into the skin. Urban Decay Afterglow 8-Hour Glow
Urban Decay Afterglow 8-Hour Glow
I have typically oily skin that occasionally breaks out or gets dry spots. I have a light skin tone with neutral undertones, along with acne scars along the sides of my cheeks. This blush claims to have a soft, creamy texture that applied beautifully and lasts for 8 hours. The formula is also infused with light-diffusing pigments to enhance and perfect the skin. The blushes also come in a variety of finishes, from matte to shimmer, and a range of shades, from mauve to red- orange. I have the shade score, a nice peach color. It is somewhat powdery, but I don’t mind that since it is very pigmented. It’s not so pigmented that I look like a clown though, it’s the perfect amount of pigmentation. It gives a pretty natural flush that lasts all day for me and wears away nice. I do like and recommend this product because it’s so easy and quick to use. I do think this is worth the price it is when it’s on sale, I got it at Ulta whenever it was half off during a 21 Days of Beauty and it’s currently still half off on the Urban Decay website. It barely takes any time to apply! URBAN DECAY - Afterglow 8-Hour Powder Blush Price: $26 (currently on sale for $13) for 0.23 oz/ 6.8 g Rating: 5/5

BITE Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipstick
BITE Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipstick
I have typically oily skin that occasionally breaks out or gets dry spots. My lips also get really dry and chapped, plus can get flakey if I don’t exfoliate them enough. I have a light complexion with neutral undertones. This is a lipstick with rich, opaque pigmentation and doesn’t tug or pull when you put it on. I have the shade Meringue, which is described as a slightly warm-toned, medium-dark beige with a satin finish. I’ve found that it does cling to the dry patches on my lips if I do have them and makes them more pronounced. It doesn’t look good with dry patches. Whenever my lips are hydrated, this lipstick is stunning! It is creamy, so it does easily transfer and slide around, therefore it doesn’t last too long. It is hydrating on the lips. That doesn’t bother me though because these are quick to put on and you only need to swipe over your lips once. There is a slight fragrance to the lipstick, but nothing too dramatic. It does kind of smell like old lady, but you can smell it when you put t on the lips. I do enjoy and recommend this product because it is so creamy and hydrating, plus there’s tons of shades to choose from. I do think this is worth the money because it’s so pigmented and pretty! Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush Collection
Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush Collection
I have typically oily skin that occasionally breaks out or gets dry spots. I have a light skin tone with neutral undertones that has some acne scars along the sides of my cheeks. This blush brightens cheeks for glowing, lit-from-within color with a shimmer finish. I have the shade Diffused Heat, which is described as a vibrant poppy blush combined with Diffused Light for a subtle halo effect. I got this in my February 2020 BoxyCharm Premium box. I’ve also used a mini of their Ambient Lighting Powder and felt the same way about it. I literally can’t even tell if I put this blush on. I can keep tapping my brush in the powder or trying to add more on top, the result is the same. No matter how much you try and add on, you can’t see anything. I have a light complexion and still can’t notice anything with this color. To get this swatch, I really had to rub my finger around the powder multiple times and press really hard into my hand. Whenever I try to use the blush, I end up giving up and just grabbing a different blush because it literally looks the same. Honestly, I might just end up using this as an all-over setting powder just to finish it and not let it go to waste because it isn’t a good blush. You could maybe use it as a blush topper since it’s shimmery? I don’t like not recommend this product because it makes no difference in the appearance of your skin and you would really have to layer this and no one has time for that. I don’t think this is worth the price or time it would take to layer it up because I’d rather just grab a blush that I can swipe on real quick and know it will last all day. Pixi Beauty Blush Duo
Pixi Beauty Blush Duo
I have typically oily skin that occasionally breaks out or gets dry spots. I have a light skin tone with neutral undertones and acne scars along the sides of my cheeks. This is a blush and highlighter duo that is made from a natural mineral formula that is hydrating, long-wearing, and light-diffusing. I got this in an Ipsy bag back when I was still subscribed in fall 2018 so it didn’t come with the Kabuki brush. This is the color Peach Honey. This is one of the worst blushes I’ve ever used. It literally has no pigment. You can sort of see it on the left side of my swatch in the third pic, but not really. The highlighter isn’t much better. I will usually blend these together to try and get some sort of pigment, but it doesn’t transfer at all to the cheeks. It stinks because the color in the pan is so bright and pretty. I’ve given up on trying to use this as a blush because there’s no payoff from this. It works better as a blush topper or highlight. I wouldn’t recommend this nor do I enjoy it for its purpose, it has little to no color payoff and isn’t pigmented. You can’t even see it in the swatches in daylight. Pixi is a more expensive drugstore brand and this product isn’t worth the money or time to have to play with it to try and get it to work because it’s so expensive, you’d think it’d work easily. pixi - Beauty Blush Duo + Kabuki Price: $18 for 0.36 oz of blush + Kabuki brush Rating: 1/5

Skinfix Foaming Oil Cleanser
Skinfix Foaming Oil Cleanser
I received this product in my recent cherie box! This is the first oil cleanser that I have tried so I was a little skeptical about how it was going to work. It has a great consistency and doesn’t make my skin feel oily at all. The first time I used this product it felt like silk on my face. This product really does make my skin feel super clean and removes any remaining makeup left on my face. This doesn’t really have a scent which isn’t a bad thing. A little of this goes a long way. I would most likely purchase this in the future! skinfix - Barrier+ Foaming Oil Cleanser

One of my favorite lip glosses! This is the shade orgasm. It’s a light shimmery pink. A little of this goes a long way for me. I don’t like really sparkly lip products so a little is perfect for me. This product has lasted me forever! The quality is amazing. Seems to be a great universal shade for everyone!NARS - Lip Gloss

Some people may find this as an ordinary/basic product that does the job but it’s been a holy grail for an oily/acne prone like me. I have never had concerns of bad reaction from this one. The formula is oil-free and works perfectly to deliver a good balance of moisture. This does not feel greasy for me. It feels lightweight and has also been serving me well as daytime moisturizer, especially on these colder months. I did read that some users have reported experiencing redness and breakouts but I never had those issues either - perhaps they’re allergic to niacinamide? If you’re not one of the minority then I highly recommend this product! ⁣ _________________________⁣ ⁣ 𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐞: $12.38 at walmart⁣ 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭 𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠: 5/5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

One of my top cerave products! ⁣ This is one of the few thick occlusives I don’t get breakouts from. I think it’s just fabulous and i’ve only been seeing positive results from using it. This is a perfect moisturizing cream if you’re on tretinoin like me. Works great especially on dry patches. It is balmy and thick but it spreads well. It feels a lil greasy on my t-zone after applying but does fade overnight. This also still layers well with other products. I don’t have fine lines or wrinkles but this leaves the skin sealed with moisture throughout the night and makes the skin looking rejuvenated when you wake up in the morning. I see realistic results from this and I think it would deliver what it claims after a period of time. I believe mature skin would benefit the most from this product 👍🏻⁣ ⁣ - on some nights I would use this on my eye area only. this makes a great non-irritating eye cream! 💜 ⁣ ⁣ 𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐞: $13.98 for 1.7 oz on amazon. I started tretinoin after only about 3 weeks of using this few nights a week - it’s not really a sufficient time to see results from a retinol. You’ll usually have to wait MONTHS or a year. However, I did still enjoy using it. I like the texture of the serum. It’s a lil thicker than a usual ‘watery’ serum but it feels very lightweight and absorbs easily. If you’re someone who has mature skin or hyperpigmentation/PIH and wanting to incorporate Vitamin A slowly, this would be a great option to start with. It’s no nonsense and is fragrance-free. I find this very promising and for an affordable price, you’re really getting a great value product. You can never go wrong with it. Make sure to be diligent with sunscreen application. ⁣😉⁣ ⁣ 𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐞: $13-18, currently $13.33 on amazon.⁣ 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭 𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠: 3/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️
