✨ Luxury Brand - Lord Jones ✨
✨ Luxury Brand - Lord Jones ✨
My skin has been dry combo lately due to using a topical acne medication from my dermatologist. My skin concerns are acne and dehydration, along with fading dark spots. . I got this LORD JONES - Acid Mantle Repair CBD Moisturizer as a gift with purchase with a Sephora purchase. I decided to get this product to try because this is a really expensive brand and wanted to see if it was worth the price. The full size of this product retails for $75 of 1.7 oz / 50 mL. That is so expensive, I can never see myself paying that much for a moisturizer so wanted to see what the hype was about. I was sad when I opened this mini because it was mostly air, there was like no product lol I felt like I was cheated out of product! I hope the full size isn’t like that. There is no scent to me and it has a cream texture. It took a while to sink into my skin and stung a little bit on an area of my neck that had been itchy earlier and I kept scratching it. It is formulated with Whole Hemp Plant-Derived CBD (a restorative, soothing whole plant oil for all day, everyday), Ceramides (AP, EOP, EOS, NP, and NS), Cholesterol, and Essential Fatty Acids (these all are replenishing ingredients that help support skin’s natural moisture barrier and maintain the acid mantle), and Hyaluronic Acid and Sugarcane-Derived Squalane (hydrate and bind moisture for smooth, supple skin). I used this as my nighttime moisturizer and didn’t notice a difference at all in my dry/peeling spots or overall moisture on my face. I didn’t notice any difference with my dryness so don’t think I’d purchase or recommend to others because I didn’t notice any sort of improvement. Everyone’s skin is different though, so it might work for you! I just didn’t notice any improvement to justify the cost. . #cheriepartner

✨ K-Beauty and J-Beauty Spotlight ✨
✨ K-Beauty and J-Beauty Spotlight ✨
My skin type is more on the combo dry right now with my skin concerns being acne and dehydration. My skin tone is light and not sure of the undertones honestly. The most unique feature of K/J-Beauty is how effortless and natural the makeup looks! I feel like it’s worth the hype over American beauty brands because the K-J-Beauty products have beneficial ingredients for the skin to help with specific skin concerns. I like knowing that my makeup is helping my skin and not just covering it up. . erborian - CC Crème in Clair (fair to light skin tones with pink undertones). I’m said this product has such small shade range, only three shades. I’d say Erborian is more of a high end brand available at Ulta because this full size product (1.5 oz) retails for $44 at Ulta. I bought it when it went on sale last year. The product comes out white and then adjusts to your skin when you put it on. It doesn’t have very much coverage, but the fact it adjusts to your skin tone is so neat and gives a nice radiant finish. It doesn’t have a strong scent. It’s enriched with Centella Asiatica to help hydrate and protect your skin. It also contains SPF25 to protect from UVA/UVB rays that cause dark spots and wrinkles. I love this for a light coverage days because it blurs my pores and imperfections (doesn’t fully mask them, but some days you just want a light coverage and not something that feels heavy), evens out skin tone, and enhances your skin and gives it a radiance/glow. . Kaja - Beauty Bento Bouncy Shimmer Eyeshadow Trio in Chocolate Dahlia (neutral cocoa). This is a high end brand available at Sephora. This little trio retails for $21. This is a stacked trip that contains a shimmer and two mattes. They aren’t extremely pigmented, but are easily built up if that’s what you want. They claim they have a Glitter Arrangement Technology that delivers uniform shimmer in every swipe that’s perfect for quick, on-the-go eye looks. They do not note any special ingredients this is formulated with. These shadows do crease a few hours after I put them on, but that doesn’t bother me because that happens with my hooded lids often. The shimmer is beautiful and so sparkly. . #cheriepartner

I normally have combo oily skin but have been using a topical acne cream from my dermatologist and it’s made my skin become more normal/combo dry. My skin concerns are acne, fading past acne marks, and dehydration due to the drying effects of the acne cream. . To help with fading acne marks and help prevent aging and sun cancer, my dermatologist recommended using a sunscreens with at least a SPF of 30, but preferable a little higher. She recommended going up until SPF50 because anything after that isn’t really that much of a difference. With using exfoliating products, your skin is really sensitive to the sun and sunscreen is a must!! With the prescribed acne serum I’m using, it’s imperative to wear sunscreen! I learned the hard way of going to the beach and not washing my face the next morning nor putting on sunscreen... My face peeled so bad for a couple weeks and was sensitive for a long time after that. Ever since then, I have been diligent about wearing sunscreen. Sunscreen is also a key part of anti-aging because it’s easier to prevent aging before it starts. Sun exposure is also a part of skin cancer because the sun causes damage to the DNA, which is not good and increases risk for skin cancer. She really explained the importance of sunscreen to me and now I don’t go a day without applying it, even if I’m just staying indoors! It can come in through windows. . I really like this LANCÔME - UV Expert Aquagel Defense Primer & Moisturizer SPF 50 because it has an SPF of 50, which is my preferred amount. It does have a very strong scent so knocked off a star for that. It sinks in so well, doesn’t leave behind a greasy or heavy feeling nor a white cast! I love trying new sunscreens so if anyone has some recommendations with SPF50, let me know! . #cheriepartner

I normally have combo oily skin but have been using a topical acne cream from my dermatologist and it’s made my skin become more normal/combo dry. My skin concerns are acne, fading past acne marks, and dehydration due to the drying effects of the acne cream. . To help with fading acne marks, my dermatologist recommended using a vitamin C serum every morning. She said it helps clear up acne and fade past marks because it’s an antioxidant so it helps speed up healing time, reduce redness and promotes collagen synthesis. I found this interesting because foods with vitamin C do a similar job inside the body so it’s neat to learn it works similarly topically. It’s great for past sun exposure and for fading acne marks. The sun not only causes aging faster, but makes acne marks darker and stay around longer. Vitamin C interferes with the production of pigment in the skin, so helps fade them and protects new ones from forming! . I really like the DermaE vitamin C serum, it smells like cereal so it really helps perk you up and get ready in the morning! This SUNDAY RILEY - C.E.O. Rapid Flash Brightening Serum is also nice, it sinks in quickly and smells pretty good, but too expensive for me. The DermaE one is a great budget-friendly vitamin C serum! . #cheriepartner

I have typically combination oily skin, but with currently using a prescribed topical acne treatment from my dermatologist my skin has been more normal/combination dry. My skin concerns are acne and dehydration. I got this SUNDAY RILEY - U.F.O. Acne Treatment Face Oil at Ulta last year whenever they first came to Ulta. I decided to try it out to help with my acne and have been using it on and off since I got it. This product contains tea tree oil and black cumin seed to support clear skin, while hexylresorcinol and licorice naturally brighten the appearance of old acne discolorations for a more even skin-tone. To counterbalance the drying effects of salicylic acid, milk thistle and cucumber seed oil nourish the skin and smooth the appearance of lines and wrinkles, without leaving a greasy residue. Chamomile and neroli soothe stressed, blemish-brown skin. The oil is a green color with a heavy feeling that leaves behind a greasy residue, plus has a very strong and overpowering earthy/woodsy scent. I wouldn’t recommend to those sensitive to scents because I’m not, but this is almost too much for me. The scent lingers until you wash your face. I use it as my last step, so wash my face, apply moisturizer and then use this since it is heavy to let the moisturizer sink into the skin. This doesn’t help my acne at all, using this made it worse! I’d use this 2-3 times a week, depending on my level of acne and if I used it more, it’d make me break out more. They were really painful, so I haven’t used this in a while. It doesn’t sink into the skin either, it just sits on top and feels really heavy. I also feel like it made my skin product more oil. I would definitely NOT recommend this or repurchase because it’s the worst facial oil I’ve tried. It may work for others, but this definitely did not agree with my skin. I’m still trying to find a facial oil my skin loves, but the Ordinary and Good Molecules make some great ones that won’t break the bank! . #cheriepartner

✨ Best Hair Tie Brand - Invisibobble ✨
✨ Best Hair Tie Brand - Invisibobble ✨
I have thin wavy hair, but a lot of it, so I usually go through hair ties pretty quickly because they get loose. I got my first Invisibobble in a Sephora Favorites set years ago. I didn’t think expensive hair ties would be worth it, but I was so wrong! All of these work amazing, I bought them at Ulta a few months ago when they had them half off during the 21 Days of Beauty event! They’re normally $9-$10 each, which is a little expensive to me for a couple hair ties so would recommend waiting for a set (there’s currently a great set on sale for under $12 at Ulta right now if you’re contemplating, it’s a $33 value). These work great for all hair types, you can wrap them around as many times as you need and they don’t slip out, plus no annoying snags! The Original gives a strong hold without feeling heavy and doesn’t snag or pull on hair when you try to pull it out. The SLIM is like the original, but with tighter spirals and a thinner profile so it provides a very delicate look without compromising the hold. It’s great for updos for the office or elegant look. The POWER gives an extra strong grip for sports/intense workouts. They are all waterproof and don’t leave a dent in your hair! They do get loose if you use the same one too often, so I like to use one for a day (either in my hair or on my wrist in case I need to put my hair up) and then let it sit on my counter for a couple days while I use a different hair tie the next day and rotate the ones I use so they get a chance to regain their shape. When they do get too loose to use, if you stick a cup of water in the microwave and heat it up for a little bit, then put your hair ties in there and let them sit for a while, they will regain their shape! I use all of these styles everyday, for a ponytail or a bun. There’s even tiny ones that work great for the end of a braid or little bobby-pins that work great as well! This has become my favorites hair product brand! . #cheriepartner

I recieved a Freeman mask sampler set as a gift over christmas and am finally breaking into it! I personally am not a fan of the brand anymore because their ingredients can be quite irritating, but I'm determined to use up and rehome what I have. This mask was cooling and smelled delicious (like sweet watermelon!). It took sooo much work to get it off my skin. It doesn't just "wash off" you have to wipe and wipe and wipe. Do I recommend? Nope!

This is my second product from Glow Recipe! Their brand intrigues me 👀 This sample was great because I got soo much use out of it. The product didn't wow me however. It was nicely hydrating but I didn't notice any real improvement after about 5 days of consistent use. Overall, I like my cerave eye cream more and don't think this eye mask is worth the money. Do you have a favorite eye cream?

BEST DRY OIL

Another Sephora VIB Sale Purchase, and I picked this up because I love Sol de Janeiro Products and their smells. 🌟I also jumped on the bandwagon for the smell but honestly the smell is to die for because the products are moisturizing but the smell just lasts for so long! I get compliments throughout the day and the smell just keeps getting more and more potent!! 🌟The texture of this product is an oil with lots of shimmer, I usually apply this on top of lotion (non-scented) and this makes my legs look super glowy and healthy! It also makes my legs look super toned and long in pictures! This doesn’t stain anything and I just love how long the smell lasts on me. Love love this body oil because it also moisturizes the skin 🌟Do I recommend? Yes!!! They have a wide-variety of colors to suit any skin tone or any event you might want to use it for (from natural to music events) and are multi functional because I also use it on my shoulders to make my collarbones pop!! So i’m sure like me a lot of you have used physical scrubs way before tiktok, YouTube has taught us how harsh they are, but sometimes you just want a good scrub. If you know what I mean😌 My skin type: dry, combo, acne-prone, eczema skin🥺🙂 😍 so this scrub from Ole Henreiksen is so abrasive but also not at the same time, it gives you a good scrub, but I use this maybe once a month because physical scrubs can cause microtears in your skin. Most of the time I use chemical scrubs like lactic acid, or AHAs, which are so amazing! But sometimes to get the baby skin feeling I go towards physical scrubs because I just don’t think chemical scrub give me that feeling. Just me? Lol oops. But the texture of this product is granular since it has walnut but they’re small and don’t use it more than once a month!! (Please) Do I recommend? Yes, if you’re in the market for a good physical scrub! OLE HENRIKSEN - Transforming Walnut Scrub

Restarting my Acne Journey
Restarting my Acne Journey
Hi all! This is a little vulnerable for me: I usually never post or go outside without at least a bit of makeup. BUT! I’m restarting my efforts to fix my acne with a new routine, and I know there’s a lot of people who struggle with this. So, here’s my face! I’ve been using DIFFERIN - DIFFERIN Acne Treatment Gel for two weeks now and the purging is starting, so hopefully this is the worst it will get. I’m hoping with continued use to see some progress and to track it here! I have experienced stinging and some severe sensitivity while my skin gets used to it, but after two weeks the stinging is dying down. I’ve been dealing with hormonal/cystic acne for 10 years now, and believe it or not this is the best it’s been in years. I’ve slowly figured out what works for me, and wanted to share those tips. BUT, if I’ve learned anything in the past ten years about acne it’s that you need to listen to your own face: even if 1000% swear by something, if it doesn’t work for you, it doesn’t work for you. I have super oily skin, so if you have dry or combo, the listed routine will most likely not work. But for my oily pals, here’s the routine that’s improved my skin so far: Morning: FARMACY - Clean Bee Ultra Gentle Facial Cleanser I love how calming and non-stripping this cleanser is, but it still manages to reduce my oil FARMACY - Very Cherry Bright 15% Clean Vitamin C Serum with Acerola Cherry to target acne scarring Neutrogena - Hydro Boost Water Gel Sunscreen Lotion SPF 30 to protect from sun damage and irritation. I HAVE TO use a gel formula for moisturizers/sunscreens, or else I break out like crazy. That’s the number one issue I’ve figured out with my face. This one has a nice gel cream texture and is lightly moisturizing, but doesn’t turn me into an oil slick. Night: First cleanse/makeup removal with GOOD MOLECULES - Instant Cleansing Balm Second cleanse with FARMACY - Clean Bee Ultra Gentle Facial Cleanser Apply pea sized drop of DIFFERIN - DIFFERIN Acne Treatment Gel If my skin is feeling good and non-irritated, I use LANEIGE - Special Care Water Sleeping Mask for just a bit of moisture overnight If my skin is feeling irritated/tight, I’ll use GOOD MOLECULES - Squalane Oil for a heavier hit of moisture. If my skin is REALLY irritated, I follow with Dr. Jart+ - Cicapair Tiger Grass Calming Mist to try and calm my skin down So here we go! Hoping to see some improvements next month. Trying my best to be patient and consistent this time, which is the hardest but most important part. Thanks for reading, and good luck on your acne journey! #CherieCreator #acne #pimples #acnecare #cysticacne #hormonalacne
