🤔How to Save Your Dark Spots?
Bebes, I'm not gonna lie, dark spots are so hard to deal with. They can be caused by excess sun exposure, acne, or even hormonal changesis - literally one of the most difficult skin problems to get rid of. But babes, don't worry - take a look at these super useful tips on saving your dark spots, and I guarantee you -- these tips work! You got this! @MatthewBorst "First of all, don’t be so hard on yourself your complexion is not horrible at all!! Definitely listen to everyone’s advice about using a daily SPF! It will prevent your current dark spots from getting darker and prevent new ones. It’s also sooo important to wear SPF daily (even when inside) when you’re using strong acids. Also check out the Inkey List’s Vitamin C + EGF serum which will help brighten/even out the complexion (vitamin c) and will also stimulate new cell growth beneath the surface (from the EGF) which is important after using strong acids. Consistency is key - you got this!" @Kim_Seung “For dark spots I recommend using The ordinary Niacinamide 10% Zinc 1% this product is really great for oily skin. And it’s specifically for dark spots/Hyper pigmentation. It has niacinamide which helps sooth the skin and also Help brighten dark spots. Zinc is also a really great ingredient if you want to get rid of hyper pigmentation. You can get it at Ulta or Sephora. ($5) Or if you prefer vitamin c serum: Hyper skin Brightening Vitamin C serum. This product uses absorbic acid which is the most stable form of vitamin c. To help with Hyper pigmentation/dark spots. It also contains Aloe Vera to help reduce sensitivity. And a bunch more Plant extracts. ($36) Or if you want a cheaper Vitamin c serum. Naturium: Vitamin C Complex 22% this also contains Absorbic acid whic is the most stable form of vitamin c. It also contains Papaya extract to Gently exfoliate your skin. These are just recommendations that will work for Majority of people. Everyone’s skin is different and unique!💜” Oh and I forgot to add that Getting rid of dark spots takes time. Give it a few months before actually getting the results you want. But if that doesn’t work I would recommend micro needling. But have it done by a Professional because you can mess up your skin if you buy one online. When Glow Recipe come out with products the hype is real. I was excited to try their vitamin c as I was dealing with hyperpigmentation and acne scarring. Plus at 45, the lines are creeping in. Glow Recipe Pineapple serum claimed to help with it all. Unfortunately the first turnoff for me was the scent. It’s a sweet smell so I’m tipped off right away that their is fragrance in it. It’s listed as the last few ingredients but it’s strong. Then came my breakouts. I tried this three different times with the same results, I’d always breakout. And not a small little whitehead but big angry red spots. So this was a huge disappointment for me. Besides the cute packaging, it’s a definite miss for me. Two strikes for GR 😔 Avocado Mask and Vitamin C serum. I do have more products of theirs I’ll be reviewing. What do you think? Hits or misses?

The one Spot Treatment I would choose!
They did it again! Peter Thomas Roth has released another winner! 🏅 This time it’s the PETER THOMAS ROTH - Pro Strength Niacinamide Discoloration Treatment This gel-like treatment works to reduce the look of dark patches, post-blemish marks, and uneven skin tone caused by sun damage and aging with a high-potency 15% brightening complex containing the following key ingredients: 💎 Kojic Acid & Alpha Arbutin: Helps enhance visible brightening benefits 💎 Niacinamide: Helps reduce the look of discoloration and uneven skin tone 💎 Tranexamic Acid: Helps reduce the look of dark patches and post-blemish marks I have some stubborn dark spots on my cheek that I’ve been trying to rid of for years! I’ve been using this day and night for the past few days. Since the treatment is intensive I do find I need to use more moisturiser or my face feels a little dry. It has faded some of my recent post-acne spots but will need to wait longer to see results on the dark spots on my cheek. Stay tuned! 💕 UPDATE: Been using this for a few weeks on an almost daily basis and it has lightened the dark spots on my cheek. I can still see them but they have definitely faded. I’m happy with the results and will continue to use this! 😍👌🏼

But this new serum that I got speeds it up to a level even I did not expect! 🌗 the product Murad - Rapid Age Spot and Pigment Lightening Serum the active ingredient is 2% hydroquinone, skin lightening agent which can literally bleach your skin 🌖i SPOT apply because I have very tan skin already and I am not trying to bleach my whole face, if you get my drift. my dark spors disappeared in about three days, which is the fastest I’ve ever seen my skin recover! 🌕 $72 for a full size bottle that Will probably last forever because I only use it as a spot treatment. The mini size which is what I have is only $25 and I’ve been using it for about two weeks and you can barely tell!

My holy grail Niacinamide treatment!
Niacinamide: a powerhouse ingredient we all want in our routine, but find confusion about. It can be irritating when used improperly, and some people may not see fantastic results even when using a Niacinamide serum. Enter the Peter Thomqs Roth Niacinamide Discoloration Treatment. A powerful 15% active brightening complex in a lightweight and moisturizing cream. Niacinamide is the second ingredient after water, and it truly shows in its ability to calm down redness, even out skin tone and heal acne scars (of which I have many from years of hormonal acne). Tranexamic acid fades dark spots and post blemish scars, and Kojic acid brightens the complexion. There is also resveratrol, a grape derived antioxidant that is fantastic for anti-aging and protecting the skin from future damage. There is also alpha arbutin, another fantastic brightener, and pentapeptide to strengthen the skin barrier. This treatment is very effective that you do see results quite quickly. The biggest effect is that redness and inflammation is calmed down and you’ll wake up with a more even tone. The first time I used this I actually almost cried. I have had blotchy red inflammatory acne for a long time and this helps me look normal. I use this at night after my Differin gel (my skin can tolerate this, but for beginners please limit your actives). This treatment, although it is $88, is very worth it. Compared to The Ordinary Niacinamide serum, this leaves the skin feeling comfortable, supple and not tacky/sticky like the serum. The formula is full of beneficial ingredients. Now, here comes the cons.... sigh Unfortunately, Peter Thomas Roth is not cruelty free. I strive to buy cruelty free and vegan products. 99% of my skincare collection is cruelty free and vegan. But as someone who suffers terribly from acne scars and needs something that will have fast results, I am okay with using this. But this will be something that vegans/ethically conscious people with grapple with when deciding to buy this product. From my perspective, this is worth it and I pray someday they stop testing on animals or another brand creates a cruelty free/vegan option just as good as this. So there’s my unbiased review. I purchased mine with my own money and I got an extra one in my Sephora Gratis that I will gladly use up. PETER THOMAS ROTH - Pro Strength Niacinamide Discoloration Treatment

Amazing Yet Underrated: Azelaic Acid Suspension
Alright, let’s be honest; I feel like a majority of people that are into skincare know about the Ordinary. It is a brand that has been getting a lot of exposure lately because of its affordable prices with great quality products. Their serums (niacinamide, hyaluronic acid) are one of the most popular products from the line. Although I own and love these serums, there is a product that I came across and bought that has helped my skin tremendously over the past few months. This product is the Azelaic Acid Suspension 10%; it is defined as a “multifunctional brightening formula.” This suspension is so well rounded and can treat various skin concerns. Azelaic acid is an antioxidant that helps with dark spots, pores, and redness; and although I don’t suffer from acne, I heard that this ingredient helps a lot with the healing process of acne scarring. Lastly, it’s super lightweight and makes my skin feel very soft! Even though this product is great for all skin types, I would do a skin patch test if you have sensitive skin (considering the fact that it is a direct acid). If your skin does not react well to the suspension, it could lead to skin irritation so be careful. But aside from that, I think that the Azelaic Acid Suspension 10% can benefit anyone and it’s only about 8 dollars! I use it only at night, but it’s gentle enough to be applied twice a day daily. Just make sure to put on your sunscreen in the daytime :)

HOW TO: Vitamin C. All Tips and tricks!
Skin need a little pick me up? Some brightening? You definitely need to add Vitamin C to your routine! Our skin naturally produces vitamin c, but as we age the amount we have naturally becomes less and less. Sun exposure and pollution accelerate the loss of natural VC. Why Vitamin C? It’s a powerhouse ingredient! it evens out skin tone reduces fine lines and wrinkles protects skin from environmental stressors And radical damage “Problems” with Vitamin C it’s extremely sensitive to air and light. It’s oxidizes and breaks down. It loses it potency. packaging needs to be opaque and let as little light in. It also needs to be able to be closed and keep air out. YOU NEED TO WEAR SPF when using vitamin c. Your skin becomes more sensitive to the sun. *from my own personal experince, I felt burning and breakouts from taking any dog for a walk after applying my VC and no sunscreen.* How to use it in your routine? apply morning and night. Always use SPF in the day time with it. apply in the typical order of your routine. If it’s a serum, apply from thinnest to thickest serums. Vitamin C works just fine with other ingredients, so feel free to use it with Niacinamide and even retinol. Just be wary of what your skin can handle MY FAVORITE VITAMIN C PRODUCT: VERSED - FOUND THE LIGHT Powder With VC + powder form has a longer shelf life. + add to/mix into your favorite serum or moisturizer. + a lot more effective that I thought it would be! + noticed visible brightening and faded dark spots within the first 3 days of use. + fine powder that mixes in perfectly with other products. + made with tapioca starch.
