Post inflammatory hyperpigmentation left by cystic acne, for example, can be possibly removed by using The Ordinary niacinamide. @marydtorres , I saw your post seeking help for your skin problem, and there were some Cherie users recommodating you to use The Ordinary. How did it go? It would be super helpful if you could make a post and talk about the progress😚! Besides from post inflammatory hyperpigmentation, there were also users sharing how large pores can be improved by The Ordinary products. @MelissaLawrence212 , @MelissaLawrence212 we'd love to see you keep making follow-up posts and share your progress with us! @katiele I saw you were recommodating The Ordinary to other Cherie users for pimples - why not making a post yourself and detailing how The Ordinary improve your skin🤣? Day 3! AlumierMD Glow Peel treating my Maskne!!
For those of you just tuning in, I am on a journey to cure my "maskne". My dermatologist told me that a chemical peel would be a great way to help and I tried the AllumierMD Glow Peel. I am on day 3 after I asked the treatment and it's going great! Today I have noticed the peel is beginning to take affect. The pimples are sore, my skin is tight and my face periodically felt a light burning sensation leaving me to feel almost like I have a sunburn. All of these symptoms are normal and a good sign that the treatment is doing it's magic!! (This tells me I'll most likely start to peel tomorrow). With the hot weather I have been very careful not to irritate my skin. Sweat and over heating can cause inflammation, more breakouts and increase discomfort from the symptoms I've already mentioned. This is where the post care package has become my savior!! I washed my face about three times throughout the day with the gentle cleanser. Immediately after I used the Anti Itch moisturizer and SPF cream that is included in the kit. These moisturizers really go hand in hand. The anti itch cream is self explanatory, but something about the SPF cream really helps alleviate the tight feeling of my skin. Using them together I feel hella hydrated and the symptoms disappear! I've come to realize that the mask is not the only contribution to my breakout. Since going into quarantine I have realized my eating habits have strayed from the clean eating that I did before. I have also started to consume more alcohol. All of this mixed with the heat is causing inflammation, flare ups and forces my skin to purge. My friend who is an esthetician told me to switch to Red 🍷 and to limit consumption. I'm going to ease into it, but the awareness is enough to bring me back to my clear skin journey! I did go out and have dinner on a patio. But I was geared up with sunscreen, a hat and sunglasses! NEVER go in the sun after a chemical peel off you can help it. If you do, only go for a small amount of time and not at peak hours... And don't slack on protective gear! I have been avoiding makeup, but if you are going outside it didn't hurt to add a SPF foundation on top of that SPF cream!😎 I conciously chose my meal to benefit my skin, and decided it was too hot for wine, and opted for the red sangria😉. No one is perfect!! But I try my best! I know the key to success will be self discipline, but I want to know what works for you! Let me know if you have any tips for adjusting to the complete change of lifestyles that we are all going through! Maybe favorite snacks that satisfy and keep your skin healthy, or activities that help you avoid drinking on a Friday night at home! I would love to hear what you are doing! 💖
My 2 week progress
Hello! It’s been two weeks since I’ve started my skin journey... first photo is now VS second photo of when I first started. I noticed a slight difference so far. My skin is less red and the pimples are a tiny bit smaller ? I think I’m getting more pimples due to wearing a mask, but that’s a whole other issue. I’ve been using The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% for a couple days now. I see it does help smooth my skin... not sure about the acne for this just yet ! I also use STRIDEX - Daily Care Acne Pads with Salicylic Acid, Sensitive with Aloe which does help as well. I use another salicylic acid product as a cleaner , it’s from the company “the good skin”. Any other products people can recommend ? Preferably to buy in store (Walgreens, cvs) and not online ! I wanna get products ASAP and not pay for shipping haha

My Acne Transformation
The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% This products is one of my favourite products from TO. My skin is very oily, and is one of the main reasons why I broke out a lot all over my face. This product really helped to control sebum production, which in turn helped to control my acne breakouts. I still have long ways to go but thought I would share my acne transformation. I recommend this product all the time. But of course it’s not for everyone! 🤎

Before & after ITS WORKING (2nd vid is before)
I only have one active pimple and I think that’s because I fell asleep in my make-up. Anybody else do that when they are seeing someone new too afraid to take your shit off in front of them? 😂 The other marks are flat and are drying up. I’m not sure which product is to credit the most, but I have a feeling it’s the AHA+BHA. I’m looking to add some products to prevent wrinkles and keep my skin glowing so If you have any recommendations for acne prone skin let me know!
The Ordinary-AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution
This was the first time using this peel and it was a bit uncomfortable. I lasted about 4 min with the mask on my face as it felt uncomfortable. Is this normal? I have acne prone oily skin so I really wanted to try this great reviewed mask. I might wait a few weeks try it again! Advice? The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution

2 Weeks: TO's Azelaic Acid and Niacinimide Serum
i've been looking to fix dark spots, remove blackheads, make my pores smaller, and help my acne. so, i was extremely excited to use these two products! unfortunately, as soon as i started using these, i believe i started purging because of the niacinimide. while this isn't horrible or the worst thing that could possibly happen, it still sucks and i'd rather i just not purge at all. i'm also not completely sure if this is purging, because i was also on my period (but i actually don't breakout this much when i'm on my period :/) so i'm not quite sure what this is. i honestly don't see a difference, but this could be because of the purging. i'm not quite sure what the azelaic acid is doing but oh well! i was genuinely hoping to see better results! but i'm still definitely feeling hopeful. i think i'm done purging, but we'll see! if anyone else started purging because of the niacinimide, please let me know how long you purged for!
