😏RIP Big Pores!

Large pores...ughh...I'm not gonna lie, large pores is literally one of the most difficult skin problems to get rid of🙁. Large pores are often caused by excess sebum, and it's often difficult to make the sebum level back to normal. But DONT WORRY😝! Look at these super useful tips on saving your large pores, and these beauty experts can promise you -- these tips WERK😎! @Mallory “Your skin actually looks really great! If you’re concerned about redness and pores I would look into a niacinamide serum. It’ll help with oil regulation, pore appearance, redness, and help even out the skin tone. Also, products with colloidal oatmeal help soothe the skin and redness. First Aid Beauty has a lot of products with this ingredient @spiicystephaniie “So I’m currently using the glow recipe watermelon glow toner! It helps to minimize pores and help with texture! I highly recommend it! I been using it for a month and half and my skin is looking so much better than before. Also I just started using the Rosen skincare earth cleanser, great for acne prone skin. I breakout on my forehead a lot and it cleared my breakouts in a few day’s.” @peppermint “Hey girl I also struggle with large pores so i feel the struggle. Honestly pore size doesn’t really change but you can make them look better with a good skincare routine. Try to Avoid Mario badescu products because they’re being sued for putting steroids in their products and the formulation just isn’t that great. I recommend the cerave facial foaming wash its awesome for oily skin and makes my skin feel clean but not stripped. The paulas choice pore reducing toner is a life savior and a super nice formula. The ordinarys niacinamide serum is my favorite serum ever and makes my skin look so healthy and glowing and keeps my pores under control. I use a moisturizer my dermatologist prescribed for me but any of the paulas choice moisturizers are really nice but if you’re looking for cheaper options the ordinary and the inkey list have great options. Regular exfoliating can also help with pores. I use the ordinarys peeling solution but that’s a little strong so maybe try the paulas choice 2% BHA solution. Sunscreen is also super important and I love the purito water sunscreen. Other brand recommendations: krave beauty, youth to the people and versed. I hope this helps” Now with all these insightful advice, I believe y'all have a better idea of dealing with large pores. Please leave your comments below if you have other suggestions😘! my simple nighttime routine💤
a little bit about my skin: dry/combination sensitive i only wash my face before i go to bed every night and i like to keep it as simple as possible (i try to keep my routine to about 3-4 products so i don’t overwhelm my skin) :) CeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin i LOVE this cleanser! it’s perfect for a nighttime cleanse as my skin is typically oiliest at the end of the day. this cleanser is very nourishing without being drying. definitely a holy grail. The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution this is by far my favourite chemical exfoliant i’ve tried. i use this once or twice per week. it tingles slightly upon application but that feeling subsides in a few seconds. i have never noticed any irritation since i started using this product. it absorbs within seconds after application and it is the only product i’ve tried that has made a dramatic improvement on my skin texture and my blemishes. i don’t break out nearly as much as i used to and my skin texture has improved immensely. love this! THE inkey LIST - Niacinamide Oil Control Serum i use this serum on days where i am not exfoliating. i prefer this product to the ordinary serum as it’s a but thinner and lighter on the skin while also absorbing much quicker. i have noticed this product has helped reduce my redness on my cheeks substantially. will definitely repurchase in the future! CeraVe - CeraVe Moisturising Cream this is easily my favourite moisturizer i’ve ever used. i usually expect creams targeted toward dry skin to be thick and very occlusive and even uncomfortable on the skin. this cream is nothing like that at all, it absorbs completely and leaves little to no trace that it’s there besides the nourishment it provides. it’s one of the most comfortable creams i’ve ever tried. i love it so much🥺 Aquaphor - Healing Ointment Skin Protectant i love using this product on my lips and any dry or flaky/irritated patches i might have on my face.

Good skincare for life.
I’ve been obsessed with skincare and makeup since I was a little girl. I made my own masks, I religiously cleansed my face day and night once I started wearing makeup and I used treatment products and moisturizers long before I needed them - that is key! Start a skincare routine as early as you can. If you think your skin is perfect and doesn’t need anything, think about the decades coming! Start now! Here’s the thing- skincare (and makeup) don’t have to be complicated or expensive. I regularly blend drugstore products with high end products. Honestly, many of the drugstore products turn out to be my favorites. Full disclosure, I use a crap ton of skincare products and I change up my routine as needed. I rarely put on a full face of makeup but I do wear some makeup 5-6 days of the week because it makes me feel pulled together and I like how it looks. No apologies necessary for daily make up wearers- do what makes you feel good! No shame in self care, ever! Today felt like a full-face-of-makeup day for some reason, so I had some fun and put it all on. Here are some of my fave products and what I used today: 1. Day old hair with Toni & Guy matte hair powder. 2. Cleanse face with Clarisma CLARISMA - Malibu Blush Exfoliating Scrub - the enzymes in this cleanser keep my face smooth and glowing. Follow with some quick swipes of Pixie Glow Tonicpixi - Glow Tonic allow to dry then mix one drop The Ordinary Niacinamide & ZincThe Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% with The Ordinary Matrixyl 10% + HAThe Ordinary - Matrixyl* 10% + HA , half pump Clarisma Cali Dreaming Cream Moisturizer,CLARISMA - Cali Dreaming Cream Daily Moisturizer massage in and appy a dab of Roots Sensitive Eye Cream to eyes. When my face is dry I apply a layer of Drunk Elephant Umbra Tint SPFDRUNK ELEPHANT - Umbra Tinte Physical Daily Defense Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 30 . 3. Prime my oily skin with Smashbox Photo Finishsmashbox - Photo Finish Foundation Primer Super Light , one little drop each Lancôme Tint Idole FoundationLANCÔME - Teint Idole Ultra Long Wear Foundation and Shiseido Perfect Refining FoundationSHISEIDO - Perfect Refining Foundation SPF 15 , Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Multi Use ConcealerMAYBELLINE - Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circle Treatment Concealer for under eyes, Elf Hydrating Camo Concealere.l.f. - Hydrating Camo Concealer (just discovered this!), Undone Cream BlushUNDONE BEAUTY - LIP TO CHEEK 3-IN-1 CREAM PALETTE , tiny bit of Bare Minerals VeilbareMinerals - Mineral Veil Setting Powder Broad Spectrum SPF 25 on t-zone, Shiseido lash curlerSHISEIDO - Shiseido Eyelash Curler , Covergirl Total Tease mascaraCOVERGIRL - Total Tease Waterproof Mascara , NYX brow powderNYX - Eyebrow Cake Powder , Rimmel grey eyeliner, a few pats of a terracotta colored eyeshadow by Illuminati,bh - Illuminating in Ireland 6 Color Highlight Palette Sephora chunky crayon brow enhancer, Florence lip glossflorence by mills - Get Glossed Lip Gloss Duo . Last, I like to spray a couple spritzes of Herbivore Rose Face SprayHERBIVORE - Rose Hibiscus Hydrating Mist to get a satin look. This seems like a lot, but it takes maybe 6-8 minutes. I apply my foundation, concealer, cream blush and eye shadow by hand. Always have, always will. My skin isn’t perfect, but it’s pretty good and I owe it to taking care of my skin for more than 30 years. Unfortunately, I grew up in an era we didn’t talk about sunscreen and sun damage. I baked in the sun and eeeeek, tanning beds. Surprisingly, my skin isn’t horrible but I definitely see the damage. I’m currently working on undoing some of that damage. Morale of the story, take care of your skin and enjoy the process. I do!

Which one should I get?
Which one should I get?
(This post is long so a summary is I need help deciding between The Ordinary - Ascorbic Acid 8% + Alpha Arbutin 2% and CeraVe - Resurfacing Retinol Serum thanks in advance 😊) Every morning when I wake up the first thing I do is look in the mirror as if my skin has magically turned clear over night (I really need to stop doing this ;-;) and Of course it has not. I feel like maybe something im using in my routine is not working. I have been using The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%every night except exfoliation nights for about maybe two months now and I honestly can’t tell if it’s working because my skin has gotten tremendously worse in those two months (;-;) I also use The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solutionevery Sunday and I do the The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solutionevery Tuesday and Thursday. I use the Aveeno - CLEAR COMPLEXION Cream Face Cleanser With Salicylic Acidevery night except my exfoliation nights and my holy grail cleanser (the dirty works creamy cleanser) every morning and on exfoliation nights. My main thing is I don’t know whether I’m doing too much or not enough. I know the healing process takes time but I feel like I’m not going anywhere and it’s so freaking frustrating. I promised myself not to buy anymore serums until I finish my niacinamide and that’s where the help comes in. I don’t know what to use after I finish my bottle. I don’t think the niacinamide has really done much for me so I’m thinking the retinol because I have plenty of post acne scars but I don’t know how that will affect my routine. I’m also thinking the alpha arbutin because it has vitamin c in it and it’s supposed to help with dark spots. I will say that my skin scars whether I pop my pimples or not (which is so goddamn unfair shshsjakaak 😭) so maybe the retinol because I have post acne scars?? I don’t know, I just know I need some help 😭

Blemishes + Dry Skin
Blemishes + Dry Skin
Hi! My main concerns are blemishes and dark spots, I have very dry skin so my breakouts are worse in the winter. I have large pores and I usually get pimples on my cheeks and forehead. I noticed that my forehead is also drier and my chin is darker than the rest of my face. Right now, my skincare routine only consists of cleanser, moisturizer, and micellar water. I only wash my face once a day (at night) since it gets flaky when I wash it twice, I use the Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser which is effective for my skin. In the morning, I only use the Garnier Rose Micellar Water. I am looking for an alternative to my Pond’s dry skin cream since it’s oily and clogs my face. I am also thinking of trying The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc and The Ordinary Squalane Oil. Any thoughts? Thanks!!

CeraVe - Hydrating Face Cleanser For Normal To Dry Skin Mentioned in my previous post: my holy grail for facial cleansers! Neutrogena - Hydro Boost Hydrating Cleansing Gel I used the Neutrogena hydro boost cleansing gel as a double cleanser courteous to my Cerave hydrating cleanser. The main reason I double cleanse is to use the first cleanser (hydro boost) to take off an remaining makeup, diet, oil and toxins from the air before doing a deep cleanser (Cerave). I recommend double cleansing because it personally has helped my skin become cleaner and clearer! you can double cleanse with the same cleanser or you can use two different ones! The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution The Ordinary Glycolic Acid 7% toning solution is an exfoliating toner to help with textured skin. Since it’s a exfoliating toner, it’s recommended to be used every other night (preferable). This is my favorite toner I have used so far! Personally, the exfoliating portion of it has helped my skin become smoother and dewy. I use this product about every other night. The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution This chemical peel has been my favorite exfoliating product so far. This easy-at-home 10 mins peeling solution has improved my textured skin and reduced the appearance of my acne scarring! I would recommend if you have highly sensitive skin to do a patch test first, because after all it is a chemical peel. It does tingle and have a bit of burning sensation when first applied, but goes away within a couple minutes of use (that means it’s working ;)) The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% my holy grail serum for my skin care routine. I have been using this since day one of starting my skincare routine and it’s been amazing! I get a hint of red after using my skin care products and thus has helped reduce the redness my face produces after my routine! this serum is also wonderful to help the appearance of your pores look smaller and helps with uneven skin tone! 100/10 recommend this product to be in your skincare routine! Clean&Clear - Advantage Acne Spot Treatment I’m not a fan of Clean and Clear products, but after discovering this spot treatment, they have gained a little respect from me. I struggle with those are to get rid of cystic pimples and have never found a treatment strong enough to make them disappear until I started using this product. This product made my monster of a pimple completely disappear after one use! I continue to use it on others and it has made them disappear within a short amount of time too! CeraVe - Daily Moisturizing Lotion For Normal To Dry Skin mentioned in my previous post!

Journey
Journey
As of November 2019, for the first time I have acne at the age of 27. I had changed so much about my lifestyle at that point it’s hard to determine what’s causing it (started going to the gym, started eating meat again, started a new job, and changed my skin care routine). My skin has always been sensitive and is also dehydrated. Here I am months later, and my face is still an acne mess. I’ve tried everything under the sun. I believe my acne to be fungal which mean I should avoid an oily products as they can further clog my pores. Fungal acne happens when the skin and hair folicles are producing too much sebum and yeast. Currently this is my routine: - PETER THOMAS ROTH - Water Drench Cloud Cream Cleanser - PETER THOMAS ROTH - Water Drench Hyaluronic Cloud Hydrating Toner Mist -The Ordinary - Salicylic Acid 2% Solution - LANEIGE - Water Bank Hydro Essence - Aesop - Seeking Silence Facial Hydrator This routine is new for me, as I recently learned oils were no good for my skin type. My previous routine included 2 oils with the same cleanser. Would love to get any feedback and or recommendations
