💰Worth or Not? I tried the same products and my answer is...
As a huge fan of Selena Gomez and a huge fan of Skincare. I'm so excited that she finally launched her own beauty brand --Rare Beauty. In the video featured on Vogue's YouTube channel, Gomez shares her everyday routine. This is why I love her, she is not only introducing her own brand product but also sharing the products she actually used from other brands that she loved. As a skincare obsessor, I got the 2 products she mentioned with her skincare routine that I can not wait to share with you guys. ❤️Selena Gomez's Skin Type She has dry skin, but in certain areas she is oily, also around her T-zone, she has some acne breakouts. My skin type is exactly the same as hers. Combination skin with oily T-zone and dry on the other area. Also acnes in T-zone and on my chin. ❤️Products Used & Tips::
TATCHA: TATCHA - The Dewy Skin Cream
Drunk Elephant Sunscreen:DRUNK ELEPHANT - Umbra Sheer Physical Daily Defense Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 30❤️My Review:
Tatcha The Dewy Skin Cream: First of all, the packaging is gorgeous! I love the little cute spoon on the top of the package, but to be honest it is not that useful lol. As well as the cream, the light purple color is very beautiful. I purchased it because I want this to be a part of my skincare routine day and night. However, the texture is too rich for my skin that I can only use it as a nighttime cream. A little amount of use could give my skin perfect hydration and when I wake up on the second day, my skin looks like a skinned boiled egg that is smooth, glowy and I can feel the elasticity. Since I'm a combination skin type, for the daytime, I feel heavy on the skin. Dry skin will definitely love it. I used LaMer Crème de la Mer Moisturizer Cream before and I don't really like that due to the super-rich texture. I feel this Tatcha Dewy Skin Cream (Price for $68) can be LaMer's (Price for $190) DUPE! Even Better!
Drunk Elephant Sunscreen SPF 30: Sunscreen is always an indispensable part of my routine. The Iron oxides ingredient in tinted sunscreens provides some protection against blue light and really attract me to buy it. I use it every day after I purchased it and I really love it. This product is a sheer physical sunscreen that gives powerful protection from the UVA/UVB damage and the radiations and oxidative damage. The texture is extremely lightweight that it is wonderful to apply it before makeup foundations. I feel it melt into my skin and is virtually invisible. I always prefer physical sunscreen better than chemical sunscreen. The word chemical sounds scary to me. This one contained no chemicals or silicones that will not cause acne which I highly recommend.❤️Hope you guys like this❤️

🍬🍃TATCHA MINIS HAUL🍃🍬
💜This is a recent Tatcha haul I scooped from Sephora with my VIB discount & saved up points, but I definitely placed an order today on tatcha.com to take advantage of their 20% off sale. Such a good time to purchase from Tatcha! I grabbed a couple old 5 star favorites like the Gold Spun lip balm & their Japanese blotting papers, as well as some other things I’ve been wanting to check out. Tatcha is actually an American brand, made in Japan🇯🇵, that adheres to Japan’s official safety & purity standards, one of the highest in the world, much stricter than the US (for more on that, check out my last post, or the 2015 documentary on Netflix called Stink) They were recently acquired by Unilever, so I hope they don’t ever change their standards! Tatcha sources all of their botanical extracts, ingredients & actives from plants grown in the most renowned provenances of Japan. 🍵🍚🌊Their formulas revolve around key ingredients Green Tea, Rice & Seaweed, the trinity of superfoods, rich in both nutrients & Japanese history, based on a Japanese document from 1813 which captured the beauty rituals of the time. ➕Their 2x fermented ‘Hadasei-3 complex’ yields over 85 actives like Enzymes, Minerals, Lactic & Amino Acids. It’s been a couple years since I’ve purchased Tatcha products, I’ve always loved their face creams, but we all know Tatcha is pricey!!! I think I was just always into moving on & trying something new, but oh how I missed them! I haven’t had as much luck with Tatcha cleansers in the past, I do adore their rice polish exfoliators 🍚 but personally was never a fan of the ‘One Step Camellia cleansing oil’ scent. I don’t think I’ve ever tried ‘The Deep Cleanse’ but I’m actually most excited to try their new cream cleanser: ‘The Rice Wash’🍚💦 I was also excited to finally try ‘The Silk Peony melting eye cream’ too, so this set was a no brainer! TATCHA - Pure & Glowing Trio set: $72 The ‘Pure & Glowing Trio’ set includes: a full size 1.7 oz Dewy Skin cream ($68) a 1.7 oz Rice Wash cleanser (full size is $35/4 oz) & 0.17 oz Silk Peony eye cream (full size $60/.5 oz) 🍬For now I’m just gonna share texture swatches & ingredients, but stay tuned... I’ll be rating everything in full review of every product coming soon! 💧TATCHA - Balanced Skin Duo The other products pictured are minis from a ‘Sephora Beauty Insider’ 300-point option that included: one mini ‘The Deep Cleanse’ 0.85 oz & one mini ‘The Water Cream’ 0.34 oz TATCHA - The Deep Cleanse Exfoliating Cleanser Full size: $38/5 oz TATCHA - The Water Cream Full size $68/1.7 oz 💜In the meantime, check out that sale! And tell me your favorite Tatcha product(s) in the comments... or tell me about the ones that didn’t work for you!
Current night routine
This is not including micelles cleanse water. I double cleanse!! Also every other day or few days I use tretinoin cream at night instead of this routine. The TATA HARPER - Nourishing Makeup Removing Oil Cleanser is my fall obsession!! With the changing seasons my skin gets so unbelievably flaky. This helps add moisture to my skin while also removing make up and other impurities. Highly recommend if you struggle with dry/flake skin or just enjoy a gentle cleanser. TRULY - Hemp Oil Facial Serum this product is good, I bought it in a time of need and didn’t know much about the brand. It does the job and I’m just trying to finish it and not waste it. I will say it is nourishing and feels pretty good on my skin. If anybody has good night serum recommendation I would love to hear them!!! TATCHA - The Dewy Skin Cream this has been such a game changer for my dry skin. I absolutely love it for nighttime. It’s so thick and creamy and I wake up with soft moisturized skin. This is my first Tatcha product, I’ve heard mixed reviews but so far it makes my skin feel great. This is my current skin- I’m struggling with masnce (acne from face mask) and my skin has been dry so it is a bit red and irritated.
Did Drunk Elephant cure my hormonal acne?!
I’ve struggled with hormonal acne most of my adult life and have spent so much money on so many different products looking for anything that helped. I was a little hesitant to try DE because it seems to have a bad rep and is a little pricey but decided to give it ago and I can’t deny what it did for my skin! With that said, some of the products I will definitely repurchase and some I can live without. Let me know what other Drunk Elephant products or dupes you love in the comments please! DRUNK ELEPHANT - Beste No. 9 Jelly Cleanser I was terrified to commit to a cleanser that #1 did not have salicylic acid in it and #2 that you only used once a day. First impression was that it has a nice jelly based consistency with no overwhelming scent. It doesn’t lather much but idc as long as it does the job. Leaves you feeling cleansed and not irritating. DRUNK ELEPHANT - T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Resurfacing Night Serum Never have I ever used a chemical exfoliant and never will I ever go back to just physical again! DE recommends that you mix some products together in the same application and even supplies you with “smoothie recipe” suggestions. Every evening I’d cleanse first and mix tlc with Marula oil and peptide cream. You can definitely feel the tingle of the tlc but I personally love it because you can tell it’s doing something! DRUNK ELEPHANT - C-Firma Vitamin C Day Serum This is one I could personally live without. It has a bit of a pungent smoky odor and there are cheaper vitamin c serums our there that do the job just fine. DRUNK ELEPHANT - B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Serum Definitely a repurchase item. It made my skin feel so hydrated and plump. I can’t believe I was missing out on this for so long. Remember, I was just looking for something to “help” my acne and scarring. These added benefits were an extra surprise. DRUNK ELEPHANT - C-Tango Multivitamin Eye Cream Another one I can live without. I had no noticeable benefits from this product but it felt nice going on. I don’t struggle with dark circles or puffiness so I can’t really comment too much on this. DRUNK ELEPHANT - Protini Polypeptide Cream This creamy goodness is amazing. Applied at night and gave my face much needed moisture. Even though I am oily, I get really dry in odd areas like my eyebrows and creases on my nose so this fixed that asap. DRUNK ELEPHANT - Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil This product balanced out my natural oil production...Finally! Before this, I had never heard of facial oil and now my life will never be the same. Less oil = less acne. DRUNK ELEPHANT - Umbra Sheer Physical Daily Defense Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 30 Nice product with good ingredients but did leave some noticeable white cast for me. Might try the tinted sunscreen by them next time. Doesn’t apply too greasy
~ Drunk Elephant “The Littles” Review pt. 1 ~
After using and loving the Drunk Elephant Baby Facial Mask and the Retinal Cream for quite some time now, I decided it was time to explore Drunk Elephant’s other skincare products. I purchased “DRUNK ELEPHANT - The Littles kit from Drunk Elephant to try a variety of their bestselling products before making the investment of purchasing the full sized products. In this post I will be rating the four products I will NOT be repurchasing, and why. 8. DRUNK ELEPHANT - Umbra Sheer Physical Daily Defense Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 30 This was by far my least favorite product in the kit. I wanted to like this product, as I struggle to find a good face sunscreen, however it left a white cast on even my pale skin, the texture wasn’t great. I have enjoyed other sunscreens at a much lover price point. I will not be repurchasing this product. 7. DRUNK ELEPHANT - C-Firma Vitamin C Day Serum I really love this product in theory, however it definitely isn’t for me. The texture of the product is sticky, so using it during the day is not ideal. I tried using it with different moisturizers and makeup combinations, and I could not get over the sticky texture. The smell of the product is also strong and I did not find it pleasant. I really love the ingredients, but unfortunately, for me, they do not make up for the texture and smell, along with the price. 6. DRUNK ELEPHANT - Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil I love this product. I have been using the Virgin Marula Oil sample I recurved with the Baby Facial from Drunk Elephant for awhile now. The product goes a long way, I love using this stuff ofter I use a face mask, or treatment to seal in moisture. It does a great job. The only problem I have with this product is the price. I purchased The Ordinary Marula Oil and it does the same thing at a fraction of the price. I will not be repurchasing, because I believe I can get a similar product at a much lower price point. 5. DRUNK ELEPHANT - C-Tango Multivitamin Eye Cream I loved this product the first few times I tried it. When it comes to eye creams, I often struggle to find a product that reduces the puffiness under my eyes. This product did it for me. Unfortunately after a few uses, it started burning my under eye area. I have sensitive eyes, and this product is too strong for me, so I will not be repurchasing. However, I would recommend this product to others, with not so sensitive skin.
Avene sunscreen-nowhere to be seen?
I am a big believer of using sunscreen every single day. It’s vital to your skin’s health and aging. I used to use this sunscreen lotion every morning after I washed my face. I heard it’s discontinued now or the formula changed..I didn’t find this specific one online, but I actually have 2 extra bottles still. (I’m currently trying the Supergoop sunscreen-just to make sure I have something to fall back on if Avene really does discontinue this product!) I was initially intrigued by this product was that it’s a French brand and I think French women have amazing skin! I’ve tried the brand Embryolisse and love that! So, I thought I’d give the brand Avene a go. I was in the market for a new sunscreen, as many drugstore sunscreens- such as neutrogena- left a white film on my skin, made me break out and did not photograph well in flash photography. This product is marketed as “Formulated with powerful antioxidants and soothing Avène Thermal Spring Water, it is ideal for daily use or in-sun activities and absorbs quickly into the skin for a natural, mattifying finish.” It’s fragrance, paraben and oil-free! It’s water-resistant for 80 minutes- that’s a claim I never really tested out. I loved that it has SPF 50 and a matte finish. I have combo skin, which is more towards the oily side in the summer, so a matte sunscreen was necessary. It’s easy to apply, just squeeze a dollop out of the bottle. The consistency is runny, it’s not very thick. I feel like it gets messy sometimes because I’ll accidentally squirt too much product out and there’s no way to put it back in the bottle. So I just apply the rest to my hands. I always used a moisturizer afterwards though, even though it says it’s a moisturizing lotion- my skin just needed a little more hydration! For normal skin, this might be enough moisturizing though! Only on days when I wasn’t going out of the house, I’d use it alone without a moisturizer. My pores never felt clogged and it truly was lightweight. I never felt like I was wearing anything heavy on my face. Oh and this also does not have a fragrance...which is great because I hate the traditional smell of sunscreen- BLAHHH. I think this product is very much worth your time, I used it for almost 3 years now and it gets the job done. It’s also hypoallergenic and noncomedogenic. I never broke out using this product and a little goes a long way! It’s totally worth adding sunscreen to your skincare routine it only takes an extra 20 seconds. I would recommend this sunscreen lotion if you have normal skin, you can skip moisturizer completely and use this 2 in 1 solution, and oily skin people, this will help keep your oily skin matte. It retails at $28 for 1.7oz and ONLY for your face. It’s pricey but since it worked well with my skin, I never did mind paying $28 for a bottle which lasts me almost 3 months. I’d give this product a 4 star review- only because of the consistency being too runny. I really hope they don’t discontinue it. 😭
Avène-Eau Thermale Avene Ultra-Light Hydrating Sunscreen Lotion SPF 50
Protecting My Acne Prone Skin☀️💦
💦 I have sensitive combination skin and my main concern that I deal with is hormonal breakouts which when not treated correctly are cystic, red and painful. 💦Currently my skin is recovering beautifully from the usual hormonal breakout around my cheek area. I still have some leftover hyperpigmentation from it but I’m actively treating that and seeing RESULTS with this routine, especially this Vitamin C oil which I also use to protect my skin from Boston’s harsh pollution. ✨Protini! This is my favorite moisturizer for my skin. It hydrates, doesn’t feel sticky and plays well with other products and make-up. I discovered this through Drunk Elephant and other skincare bloggers and have been in love ever since. Yes there are cheaper moisturizers out there but this plumps skin so gorgeously I don’t want to look for another. I use this after cleansing my skin and on occasion I’ll add a Hyaluronic acid serum before this. Pro tip- apply hydrating serums and then moisturizers to your face in that order WHILE your skin is still wet to prevent transepidermal water loss from happening to your skin! I’ve been using this for over a year and adore it. ✨Leah Rose + Glow Oil! This is the most stunning facial oil I’ve ever found and it’s made by a small and newer business. My favorite things about this are the squalane for hydration and vitamin C for after my acne to get rid of that redness. It’s also a very brightening ingredient too. I love using an oil after moisturizer because it locks everything in and gives that extra boost of hydration. I’ve been using this for about half a year and will definitely be repurchasing. ✨Centella Green Level Unscented Sunscreen! This is a new sunscreen for me but regardless I believe SPF is THE SINGLE most important item to use to protect your skin from sun damage. This makes the skin feel smooth, is SPF 50 and doesn’t leave a white cast. I just got this this week and am already in love. It plays well with other products and of course protects you from damaging rays. Pro tip- your skin can be damaged by the sun through windows so even though we’re mostly stuck inside, it’s important to keep this in your skincare routine to prevent damage. Sunscreen also helps with my skin redness and for my acne! 💦This routine is one I fully stand by and discovered through other bloggers and just trial and error using a lot of products and figuring out the best way to lock in moisture for my skin. I love it and don’t plan on changing it up any time soon! What’s your favorite routine to protect your skin? Purlisse SPF 🌀
Skin type: Combination 🌀This is the Purlisse Blue Lotus daily moisturizer with SPF 30 and I love it! The scent is like sunscreen but not to overwhelming and doesnt live white marks at all! 🌀This claims to be for normal- dry -sensitive skin. I have combination skin but it worked really well for me! I do recommend it to anyone whos looking for a product with moisturizer + spf 🌀You get 50 ml for $45 dlls on Purlisse’s website! Or the 15 ml size for $20! I think its worth it for mw because other sunscreens leave white marks on my face pūrlisse - Blue Lotus Essential SPF30 Moisturizer

DRUNK ELEPHANT-Lala Retro Whipped Moisturizer with Cream
😏 I seriously have so many products to try so if you enjoy my product reviews, then keep those 👀 out! Today I’m going to talk about a product that I am completely obsessed with - supergoop Superscreen 💫 I’ve been wanting to get my hands on this baby since the day supergoop announced its launch. It wasn’t easy getting it, but I’m so happy I finally have it in my possession and it definitely didn’t disappoint 🤩 . . Superscreen is a moisturizer and sunscreen in one - like seriously, what more could you ask for?! It is extremely hydrating, provides the healthiest glow and protects you from the harmful rays of the sun + blue light (it contains SPF 40 - NO white cast)! I am not kidding when I say this stuff is amazeballs 😍 the texture is quite creamy but feels extremely lightweight on the skin and a little goes a long way. It smells like.. I’m not sure hahaha a flower that I’ve smelled before but nothing too overwhelming. If you’re lazy and hate applying multiple products, then you need this in your life. Even if you’re not lazy, you still need this in your life. It’s just THAT good and I want everyone to give it a try 😂🤣 I think it’s affordable ($38 US/$54 CAD) because you literally kill two birds with one stone with this baby and it will also last you a looong time! 👌🏼
Supergoop!-Superscreen Daily Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 40 PA+++
My Top 4 Favourite Moisturizers
I’ve tried a lot of moisturizers- I’m not Sephora Rouge for nothing! Many were okay for my combination skin, though less fit my skin when it was super oily and even less work now for my super sensitive skin, but these four are moisturizers I keep coming back to, due to their lovely textures and wonderful formulations. [Products are depicted and listed thickest to thinnest] DRUNK ELEPHANT - Lala Retro Whipped Moisturizer with Cream is a fluffy yet rich whipped moisturizer that feels creamy and silky on skin, but quickly absorbs and leaves a satin finish. A somewhat pricy ($60/50mL) moisturizer I’d recommend for all skin types -though I’d recommend dried skin types add in an oil too- Lala contains ceramides, fatty acids, sodium hyaluronate, and a variety of whipped oils to offer skin barrier support and potent moisture without any shine. I’ll be repurchasing soon to use alongside my tretinoin regime! PAULA'S CHOICE - Probiotic Nutrient Moisturizer manages to sit between a gel and a cream, offering medium-weight but potent moisture. I use this moisturizer currently, in the evening! It’s packed with pre-, pro-, and post-biotics to support a healthy skin microbiome to fight off unfriendly bacteria that could otherwise take up residence on skin to cause acne or irritation. I love this reasonably-priced ($42/50mL) moisturizer for how gentle it is, managing to soothe my tretinoin-irritated skin and apply to eczema flare-ups without any stinging. I’d recommend this for all skin types, though I find it seems to offer longer-term hydration than Lala so dry skin may not need to add an oil. DRUNK ELEPHANT - Protini Polypeptide Cream is a lightweight gel moisturizer that is bouncy and hydrating, though I will say the only drawback to this moisturizer is its shiny finish that takes a while to fade. A bit pricy at $68 for 50mL. But it feels very light on the skin, making it perfect under makeup or (you better 👀) sunscreen, especially for combination, oily, and normal skin. This is primarily an anti-aging moisturizer and it feels absolutely divine coming fresh out of the fridge in the summer. stratia - Liquid Gold is a light, silky treasure trove of skin-identical cholesterol, fatty acids, and ceramides to affordably ($27/60mL) and effectively nourish the skin barrier as the included niacinamide soothes any signs of irritation. I love this moisturizer so much! It’s versatile, working as a moisturizer for oily skin while also being a very moisturizing serum for dry skin to layer under another moisturizer. I especially love it on especially humid, hot days, as it never feels heavy and gives a non-shiny satin finish.

Over-Exfoliated Skin: What To Do NextOver-exfoliation has a plethora of symptoms, ranging from redness and inflammation, tightness of the skin, dryness and flakiness, irritation bumps, rashes, breakouts, and a stinging sensation. With the rise in popularity of at-home chemical exfoliation, it’s easier than ever before to take it a step too far. Everyone is trying out TikTok-famous products like The Ordinary’s AHA 30% and BHA 2% Peeling Solution without an understanding of how strong it really is. Chemical exfoliation is all the rage now, due to its ability to clear up acne, even out the skin tone, and give you a glowy look. But none of these things will happen if you don't exfoliate properly!Sep. 29
