Affordable Morning Routine!
Ulta employee here showing my affordable morning routine! Everything is under $40 and fragrance free 😊 A little bit about my skin: - I have pretty normal skin with a slightly oily t-zone - I live in Florida, so I sweat A LOT due to the humidity - My skin can be acne prone - I get "fungal acne" very easily from heavier moisturizing ingredients (and many niacinamide serums for some reason) Now for the routine! I cleanse with CeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin and oh my god this has made the biggest difference with the "fungal acne" (I use quotes because its not really acne). I used to have congested pores all over my face and no matter what I did, they wouldn't go away! I was looking for drugstore cleansers and happened to find this, and I haven't had any issues since. Highly recommend! After gently patting my face dry, I'll use the Mad Hippie - Vitamin C Serum . I hate that this is relatively expensive for a drugstore vitamin c serum, but no other serum has worked as well as this one for me. I've tried similar vitamin c treatments from the ordinary and other brands, and nothing makes my skin feel as soft, bright, and hydrated as mad hippie. Recently, I'll also take any excess and put it near my under-eye area to help with dark circles, and its making a big difference! I've already repurchased this product, so I highly recommend. I struggle with fine lines around my eyes, so I love using DERMA•E - Firming DMAE Eye Lift Cream AM and PM. I'm on my 3rd bottle of this and I've noticed a big reduction in fine lines, dark circles, and creasing when I wear concealer. This is one of the best eye creams out there in my opinion. I moisturize with CLINIQUE - Clinique iD : Moisturizer + Concentrate for Fatigue . I use the jelly base with the fatigue cartridge for lightweight hydration, additional antioxidants, and glowing skin throughout the day. My skin always feels soft, supple, and bright... so much so that I have 2 extra cartridges sitting in my bathroom so that I never run out 😂 SUNSCREEN, SUNSCREEN, SUNSCREEN! I love LA ROCHE-POSAY - Anthelios 60 Clear Skin Dry Touch Sunscreen SPF 60 even though its a chemical sunscreen. I tried to switch to mineral sunscreen recently, and every single one that I tried always made me look like a ghost, felt like I was rubbing chalk on my skin, or broke me out. This sunscreen is oil-free, contains antioxidants for extra protection, and is dry to the touch so it won't feel greasy at all. I'm on my 3rd (?) bottle of this and I don't see myself switching any time soon. DON'T FORGET LIP SPF! I really like Aquaphor - Lip Repair + Protect Broad Spectrum SPF 30 because its very moisturizing and really hydrates the lips. We see people coming in all the time for lip scrubs, but you don't need one if you properly moisturize and protect your lips!
I love him! He let me give him a facial tonight because he hates his pores and budding wrinkles. He has always told me that my skincare is silly and that I’m buying into packaging, blah blah blah. He started with DERMA•E - Anti-Wrinkle Cleanser , then moved onto a full 10 minutes of The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution . After that, I dotted my DERMA•E - Firming DMAE Eye Lift Cream along his eyeline and instructed him to moisturize his face properly with DERMA•E - Anti-Wrinkle Renewal Cream . From me to ya’ll, though... he keeps touching his face and saying “wow... I never knew my skin could feel this good.” when he thinks I can’t hear him. Haha! Also, he looks extra good for date night tonight. 😉
My (Less Than Perfect) Morning Skincare Routine
First off, I love this gentle cleanser in the morning. It’s gentle enough for my sensitive skin. I’ve switched to a different cleanser for night just to help get the rest of my makeup off, but this is perfect for when I have sleepy skin. LA ROCHE-POSAY - Toleriane Hydrating Gentle Face Cleanser I’m not in love with this vitamin C serum. Granted, I haven’t been using this for too long, but I’m concerned with how long the effects might last in the bottle. On a positive note, the smell reminds me of Froot Loops! DERMA•E - Vitamin C Concentrated Serum I do love this moisturizer! It’s great for any skin type, but especially great for people with dry skin. There’s no scent or fragrance to it and it’s not overly priced! The Ordinary - Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA Honestly, I’ve used better sunscreens. With this, I need to wait a good 5-10 minutes after applying my moisturizer to apply this sunscreen. If I put it on too soon, it will pill up and roll off my skin, making my routine last much longer than it should. LA ROCHE-POSAY - Anthelios 60 Face & Body Melt in Sunscreen Milk SPF 60 Any suggestions would be appreciated! 💖
AM routine 🔆
1. Aveeno - Clear Complexion Foaming Cleanser I start my morning routine with this water based cleanser that also contains salicylic acid. 2. THAYERS - Rose Petal Facial Mist To apply this toner, I pour a little bit on a cotton pad and pat my face down. This product contains phenoxyethanol which has antibacterial properties, rose water which helps with redness, and witch hazel that calms the skin. *** I’ve also used this product to soothe sunburn*** 3. bliss - Glow & Hydrate Day Serum For step 3 in my routine, I alternate serums every other day. One day I use the Glow and Hydrate serum that contains niacinamide (vitamin B3) and hyaluronic acid (HA). This product hydrates my skin very well leaving a “dewy” glow to my face. I originally bought this to help reduce my pores however, I have not noticed any pore reduction, yet. DERMA•E - Vitamin C Concentrated Serum On the days I do not use the Glow and Hydrate serum, I use this vitamin C serum to brighten my skin. This also contains HA for hydrating my skin. I’ve used this serum for about a year and I love it! 4. Aveeno - Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer SPF 15 My daily moisturizer contains 15 SPF. Although I like this product, I think I am going to start using the Positively Radiant moisturizer that contains 30 SPF for extra protection from the sun. 5. MARIO BADESCU - Facial Spray with Aloe, Herbs and Rosewater As you can see, I’m running low on my facial spray. This also contains Rose water to help with redness, but I mostly just like the cool, misty feeling at the end of my face routine. I will definitely be purchasing more soon! 6. PAULA'S CHOICE - Retinol Skin Smoothing Body Treatment After my face routine, I use this retinol treatment mostly on my thighs and bottom to firm and smooth my skin. Occasionally I will use this on my arms and stomach. After a few months of using this daily, I’ve noticed my thighs are smoother, it’s really boosted my confidence in a bathing suit.

the Saem Derma Plan Sensitive Soothing Treatment set review Is your skin sensitive? Even if my skin is a combo, it's still very sensitive - I'm allergic so what I was expecting? The thing is that my skin every year has the period of being annoying and cosmetology is not always helpful. I found the Saem Derma Plan Sensitive Soothing Treatment set that contains a mini version of Ultra Balm from the same series on Jolse and now I can share with you a review. Both Treatment and serum have no scent and they have no artificial colours instead you can find here Centella in many different forms Squalane, Beta-Glucan, Licorice, Green Tea, Panthenol - in a Balm version Ceramide and Shea Butter instead of Squalane. The Treatment is like milk but more creamy and it's very easy to apply, it has a nice applicator so you won't use too much. The balm will be better for dry skin or dry patches on combo/oily skin. The Treatment is very lightweight and it can be used under makeup (and sunscreen since suncare is a must!). This duo is ideal for damaged skin barrier and during the allergy season still, I believe that patch test is a must since every skin reacts differently. I had no comedogenic reactions to this duo but the balm feels a bit too heavy for my skin type. I feel like we totally forgot about the Saem but believe me guys - sometimes it's good to go back to affordable products because you can get this set for $14.16 on Jolse.
【Ultimate Hydranatio】Clinique Moisture Surge
A lot of skin problems started with a lack of hydranation for our skin. Dry skin can cause the aging process to start early. Therefore it is important to have a good hydration routine, especially during the summer time and seasonal changes. I love those products for summer particularly especially for the oily zone. 🌸The concentrate is very easy to absorb by the skin and as you can tell I am almost done with it and this is the second bottle I am finishing since last summer. The hydrator used after the concentrate and seals the hyaluronic acid in to keep skin moisturied. The feeling to apply it on skin feels amazing! It is literally like giving your skin a big bottle of ice water. 🧊 That’s why I love this combination so much in the summer time. 🌝I never big fan of the dramatic difference either lotion or gel (skin butter) but the jelly version is not too bad. However, don't expect too much from it tho other than moisturizing. The lotion is more for the dry face, the gel is for combination but still too oily for me, the jelly works much better. However if you have dry skin I would recommend lotion or gel.

Refreshing or Ruining?
🍊So I don’t know about you guys but I used to love Origins. Origins was the first high-end brand I ever used and I used to love them! Love was probably an understatement at the time. With the whole pandemic going on I have been experimenting with my skincare more, trying more products along with going back to old skincare loves!! Also keep in mind I have sensitive, dry, and skin that easily breaks out. 🍊ORIGINS - GinZing Ultra-Hydrating Energy-Boosting Cream this is honestly such a good day cream. The texture of this cream is a gel cream and light-weight!! This product sinks right into your skin and layers super well on top of your skincare! Works super with your sunscreen as well! 🍊ORIGINS - High-Potency Night-a-Mins Resurfacing Cream With Fruit-Derived AHAs also such a good night cream and smells so so good! The texture of this night cream is thick and literally makes your skin glow. I did not see any pilling with this product and works super well with retinols! I think this is such a hydrating cream for someone who has incorporated retinols into their skincare routine because it’s so so hydrating!!! 🍊Do I recommend? Absolutely!!! Let me know if you have tried this product & your thoughts on it in the comments below!!!

Drugstore dupe for Neutrogena Hydrogel?? 😱
A little background: After trying out the Neutrogena - Hydro Boost Gel-Cream earlier this year, I’ve been searching for a cheaper, drugstore dupe for broke students like myself who have dryer skin but still want the ultra-light, non greasy hydration that the Neutrogena Water Gel provides. I was hoping that at its slightly less steep price point, the e.l.f. - Holy Hydration! Face Cream would do the trick, but I was disappointed to find a few key issues that made the product not worth it for me: 🤔 greasy texture: the elf cream tended to sit on top of my skin instead of absorbing into it 🤔 not non-comedogenic?? although i didn’t experience this myself, other users have found that this product causes them to break out, so those with sensitive skin beware!! 🤔 contains dimethicone, so it’s not suitable for those who prefer silicone-free products Overall, although the product does provide lasting moisture, I found myself consistently choosing the Neutrogena over the elf moisturizer and probably wouldn’t purchase it again!
e.l.f.-Holy Hydration! Face Cream
I have some mini reviews ready today! The first is the GOOD MOLECULES - Caffeine Energizing Hydrogel Eye Patches They tend to send me their new launches, and I’ll admit I was waiting by the door for these. They don’t slide around on my face, aren’t sticky, and the essence sinks in pretty fast. My undereyes look plump when I use these, like I’ve gotten the most sleep imaginable. Would totally recommend these, as they only run about $18 for 30 pairs. The next three mini reviews are some products from skinfix that I have been using — TLDR; they’re all great for dry skin. The Lipid Boost Jelly is one of the best hydration serums I’ve ever used, and the dermatitis face balm is incredible on my dry patches and flare ups. Last but not least, the 911 ointment is an all-purpose salve that I use on everything, from dry hands to itchy legs, random bumps on my chest or arms or cracked feet! These were all gifted by the brands with no strings attached!

What does it do? Rose
Rosewater, rosehip oil, rose essential oil, and the list goes on ... Roses have been an essential beauty product for centuries From perfume to oils to face creams to medicine, it has been in something. So for this “What does it do?,” I decided to breakdown the properties of roses in skin care. I mean roses may smell nice, but what can adding it to your routine do for you? Let’s talk about it ... What does it do for the skin? Roses are full of antioxidants, essential fatty acids, vitamins and minerals. They also have antibacterial, antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory benefits. Antioxidants help your skin fight against free radicals, which can reduce the strength of your skin. Basically, look younger for longer. (Is there a way to get an IV of this stuff? 😂) Rose byproducts tens to be used by people of all skin types: dry, combination, normal, oily, sensitive and mature. Smelling like roses: Rosehips are packed full of high levels of vitamin C, which is why the oil has recently been suggested to help with hyperpigmentation. Vitamin A also may treat the appearance of lines and wrinkles and other visible signs of aging. The oil from roses also moisturizes your skin and protects your skin from moisture loss. It also keeps free radicals and toxins out. Actual rosewater hydrates your skin, provides antibacterial help while it regulates your skin’s pH. Talk about a multitasker! Your roses really smell like: Because of the growing numbers of people with a smell sensitivity, I am sure there are people who have experienced a negative reaction. Now let’s talk about the two products I decided to highlight: 🌹 fresh - Rose Deep Hydration Toner is a daily toner that should hydrate and balance your skin. It comes in two sizes. (Previous review on Dec. 9.) MY THOUGHTS: I opened this toner a few months ago and I still really like it. The rose smell isn’t in your face like other rose toners. (I mean it is a toner, not perfume.) The petals in the toner are a nice touch, but when you start to get to the bottom of the bottle, it can distort the color more and look ... not the best. Recommend? Yes! 🥀 fresh - Rose & Hyaluronic Acid Deep Hydration Moisturizeris a lightweight gel that is infused with “advanced hyaluronic acid and time-release hydro-patches” to give you 24-hour hydration. Fresh says hydro-patches “form a protective moisturizing veil to help attract and retain moisture.” (Can I apply hydro-patches to my dating life?) It comes in three sizes ranging from $15 to $68. MY THOUGHTS: I like the consistency of this cream. I was keeping this face cream in the fridge, but it was harder to immolate. It can also pill when it is layered over something it doesn’t agree with. Recommend? If you have the money to spend, then yes. Fun rose trivia: • There are 150 species of roses. • It is the only vegetable oil that naturally contains retinol. Note: I got both in a Sephora set.
