Oil free CC and anti-aging concealer review
Overall Impressions from my first 3 weeks with this product have been Really positive overall, Almost daily use unless im not leaving the house at all as this is my only SPF product outside of a tinted moisturiser that oxidises badly on my skin. So if i'm going outside its going on my face. Consistency of both is incredibly thick. In regards to the concealer I literally use a dot no bigger then the ball on my eyebrow bar. so a 3mm glob does my entire under eye section and today's dark circles are about as good as it gets so normally it's got a lot more to cover and it hasn't struggled so far. CC cream wise i use about a pump and a half to do my face, neck and ears. Shade wise this was an educated guess and i feel it may be slightly off for my skin but im the closest sephora to me is unfortunately an hour north or an hour and a half south. either way not something i'm going to be doing soon, but definitely before the next round of purchasing and i'm fairly sure i will be repurchasing at this point in time. The products both take quite a decent amount of time to dry but i prefer this as it gives me more time to work with the product and get it where i want it. If i need to set it quickly i find a translucent powder easy enough to just throw on top and it works like a dream. Vs the original formula of the IT cosmetics CC+ cream the Matte contains no essential oils, has multiple types of clay, beneficial plant extracts and snail mucin. However a lot less snail mucin than the original It cosmetics CC+ cream which does make me tempted to give the original formula ago, oily skin or no oily skin. I work both in with my hands first before going over it with a brush and as i am quite new to wearing actual makeup i do have to disclose that allot of the Texture and blending issues on my face are substantially more my issue then the products but still thought i would share my thoughts and experience so far :)

Work Makeup: Full Face of Minis 🔮
Good morning! 😊 hope everyone had a glorious weekend. Today’s work look is brought to you by my mini squad. I adore mini versions of makeup as I’m quite picky about products and hate to pay full price for something I might hate. That, and minis are sooo easy to travel with! I keep a good portion of my minis at work so I don’t have to take up too much storage. Remember to hydrate and check your WiFi 😘 Ps. The blush is in the shade “Grace”
Subtle work makeup is subtle 👄
Good morning, beautiful people! ☀️ Hope you’re all doing well. This is what today’s work look consists of. I’m in the military, so our makeup has to look “natural”. Definitely no glam allowed, but that’s ok because I’m neither talented nor brave enough for glam lol 😂 Remember to hydrate and check your WiFi 🦋 😘🌸 Ps. Sorry the lighting in my office kinda sucks - no windows 😩
The Secret to Flawless Base Makeup (For Oily Skin)
Not everyone is blessed with perfect skin, however, that does not mean that we cannot achieve a flawless base makeup that makes our face look ten times better. I am far from having the perfect skin, but whenever I take the time to do the following steps and use the products mentioned below, everyone was amazed by how clear and bright my skin looks. My Skin Type I am fair skinned and have a neutral skin tone. My skin is extremely oily, and as a result, I have enlarged pores and uneven skin texture. My biggest skin concerns include sensitivity and being acne-prone. This leads to my skin being easily irritable and looking red all the time. On top of that, my face has a lot of acne scars and hyperpigmentations. I end up having very uneven skin tone. Tips to the Perfect Base Exfoliate: I always exfoliate my skin before special occasions to ensure that my skin is smooth and clear. It helps remove all the dead skin cells and sebum buildups, therefore, improving my skin texture and brightening my skin complexion. 1. Primer: Using a primer helps smooth out uneven skin texture and fill in the pores, so that after applying base makeup, pore appearances will be minimised and the skin looks like it has a filter on. 2. Choose the correct foundation: It is important to choose the right foundation that suits your specific skin type. For me, I have oily skin and hyperpigmentation, so I tend to gravitate towards products that have high coverage, matte finish and are long-lasting. If I use a lightweight, moisturising foundation, I will end up looking too greasy and my blemishes will still be visible, which is no longer a flawless base makeup for me. Products Dermalogica daily microfoliant $89: it is definitely an investment piece, but since it is the best exfoliate that I have used so far, it is worth the price. It is well known amongst the beauty community because it is very gentle on the skin but effective. It is a rice-based powder that activates upon contact with water. I have noticed that my skin becomes so soft and bright after using it, and the base makeup applies better too. There is less creasing. Benefit Matte Rescue $56: Sure there are cheaper drugstore primers out there, but this primer has a very unique texture that is perfect for acne-prone and oily skin. It is in a cool gel texture that feels very lightweight on the skin and fills in the pore perfectly while being hydrating. Also, it contains Australian Tea Tree Oil, an antibacterial ingredient to help control acne. My base makeup becomes a lot more long lasting if I use this primer. IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Matte $63: Once again this product is not that affordable compared to drugstore products, but to achieve flawless skin, sometimes it is necessary to spend a little. It is a cc cream which means it contains beneficial ingredients such as anti-aging and hydrating serum that does not irritate my sensitive skin. It is full coverage, covering my blemishes and redness, allowing my skin to look perfect. It leaves a matte finish and is very long lasting. Would highly recommend!
Simple & Easy Lunch Date Look
I don’t wear a lot of makeup nor am I good at what I do, but this simple look gets me by when I need to look put together or when I want to feel pretty. This also doesn’t rub off on my mask. I hope you all like my simple attempt at makeup. 😘 What I wearing: it Cosmetics - it Cosmetics CC+ Cream Oil-Free Matte SPF 40 KVD VEGAN BEAUTY - Lock-It Setting Powder EM COSMETICS - Heaven’s Glow: Magic Hour Blush EM COSMETICS - True Gloss Lip Gloss eyeko - Beach Waterproof Vegan Mascara MAKE UP FOR EVER - Light Velvet Air Shine-Control Refreshing Spray
Full face, but keep it natural 💋
Here are my favorite products for a natural full face of makeup! e.l.f. - Poreless Face Primer this primer is $5 and does the job. It has a slight which hazel scent to it and has a mousse like consistency that creates a blurring a smoothing effect to the skin. A little goes a long way so this purchase will last you a long time! I really like that this primer is lite weight and doesn’t feel to sticky on my face either, but still provides a good canvas for my foundation. MAYBELLINE - Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circle Treatment Concealer I use this concealer almost everyday to cover up any blemishes I may have going on or to correct redness as well. I use a shade that matches my skin exactly so I prefer to use this before I go in with my foundation to cover up what needs to me covered and provide an even color and coverage when I put down my foundation. tarte - Shape Tape Concealer of course I also use the infamous Shape Tape Concealer on glam days because of its coverage and how long it stays put. Sometimes I put this on before my foundation and sometimes I put it on after; it really just depends on my mood. I like to use this concealer as part of my contour to brighten the under eyes and some high points of my face. A little goes a long way to I rarely go into the tube for more product and honestly will takes some product off of the applicator sometimes so that I can slowly build up to how much product I actually want. Honestly though, there are concealers out there that are pretty good shoes that cost way less so I just bought this concealer as a treat to myself. If you’re on a budget I recommend the e.l.f. - 16HR Camo Concealer because it’s $6, won’t budge, and has great coverage just like Shape Tape. wet n wild - MegaGlo Makeup Stick Conceal and Contour I bought this as an intro to contouring with creams and I really like it. It’s super smooth and in my opinion is fairly forgiving and won’t kill you if you mess up. This product comes in a few different shades and also has a blush. I only use a deeper shade for my contour and I really like how easy it is to blend out. I recommend using the stick directly on your face rather than rubbing a brush against it and then applying. I find this gives you more color pay off as well. Like the Shape Tape, sometimes I put this on before my foundation and other days after. I personally like putting it on before because if you go in too heavy then the foundation helps to even it out and I find it looks a lot more natural and has a smoother finish. laura mercier - Oil Free Tinted Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 20 I’ve been using this for 5 years and haven’t budged on it! It’s a tinted moisturizer but is buildable and provides great coverage. It’s lite weight and I use a sponge to apply it. SPF is the perfect bonus!

The best makeup for my skin tone!
When I go for full coverage makeup, It Cosmetics has been my go-to for at least 3 years now! It covers everything and evens out your skin tone after the first application. It’s easy to build-up and blends into skin flawlessly. My skin is light with yellow undertones so I wear the shade ‘Light’ in both the matte and regular CC+ cream and it matches perfectly!

a swing and a miss 🏏
Everywhere I go, I see MBB’s face, and I had hoped that by buying her makeup I would appease her. Anyway. I am probably the palest person I know- as a rule of thumb I can often just buy the lightest shade available and often it will be too dark (looking at you, Kosas - Revealer Super Creamy + Brightening Concealer ) When it came to these concealers I hummed and haahed between F005 (this one) and F015. In hindsight I think I could have actually gotten away with FLO25. I’m unsure what to do with F005 since it is literally whiter than white. I would really really recommend going into Ulta and trying to see what shade actually matches you before you buy (I’m not US based so I couldn’t do this.) They also have a Snapchat try on function which is just a bit too gimmicky for me lol. The concealer is nice, the metal tip feels SO GOOD but on my skin it doesn’t blend in well at all and sits on top. If I try to blend it in, I basically just remove it from my skin entirely- and I can tell because it’s so much whiter than the rest of me! Im so bummed that this doesn’t work for me because Kackie Reviews loved it- the concealer hunt continues!

My favorite concealers
Conceal(er) appeal? While I don’t generally wear foundation, I do love a concealer for my undereyes and over any particularly bad blemishes. Having hunted for some years for the 'perfect’ one, I’ve rounded up my favourites. The shiseido Sheer Eye Zone Corrector in shade 102 Light (bottom right) is a sheer concealer providing a radiant finish. For more coverage, I leave it to air dry for a minute or so before blending. Great for under eyes if discolouration isn’t a big issue but too sheer for major concealing or for use over a colour corrector. Plus points: doesn’t crease on eyelids. Minuses: Not terribly natural ingredients- my favourite natural alternative is Chantecaille’s Le Camouflage Stylo. For when my bags are more Louis Vuitton trunk than evening clutch I use the lancome Teint Idole Ultra Wear Camouflage in shades 110 Ivoire (C) and 010 Beige Porcelaine (bottom left and mid right). These seriously heavy duty concealers cover pretty much anything I ever need them too and leave a satin finish. Plus points: Covers everything, including a colour corrector if you use one. Lasts absolutely forever (like a year even with daily use). Minuses: Sits in my lid creases, setting spray helps with this. For a more natural alternative I use the kjaerweis Cream Foundation in Lightness. While normally used as a foundation, I also try this as a concealer, using the warmth of my fingers to apply. Plus points: A very natural and hydrating product in beautiful, low-waste packaging. Provides good coverage and a powder-like finish. Doesn’t sit in lid creases too much. Minuses: Almost none- expensive but you get a lot of product for the price. Another lovely natural product is the rms beauty “Un” Cover-Up in 000, their absolute lightest shade (top). This covers really well (again, not as heavy-duty as the Lancome) and has a lovely creamy texture. The mineral powders in this do a good job of adapting to your tone so it doesn’t matter if you don’t get the shade spot on. Plus points: Good coverage. Moisturising. Radiant finish. Minuses: Pretty expensive. Settles slightly in lines.

tarte - Maracuja Creaseless Undereye Concealer This is a full-coverage, creamy concealer I got from Sephora for $13 CAD (mini size). The one thing I can’t leave my house without is concealer because I have such dark under eye circles (7 years of working shift work as a nurse, and genetics). I love the Too Faced - Born This Way Super Coverage Multi-Use Concealer but once I saw Tarte had minis of the Maracuja Creaseless concealer I had to try it. I bought the shade 13N - fair to light with neutral undertones. So far I’m quite impressed with the coverage and the shade. This concealer comes in 27 shades in regular size, and 15 in the mini size. The only downside I find with this concealer is that it appears quite dewy and I have to go in and set it with a translucent setting powder. This is why I’m giving it only 4 stars. I definitely suggest trying out the mini, though, if they have it in your shade.
