I want to go in a little into why I love this mask over all other clay masks and how much I disliked it when I first started using it because I didn’t understand anything about it until I did some research. When I first started using this mask, I followed the directions and mixed it with water, apple cider vinegar and the clay. Equal parts each. Suffice to say, it was too watery. My skin “purged” the first few times I used it. I thought it was causing acne, so I stopped using it for a month. Since the other clay masks I tried over that duration weren’t doing anything for my acne or blackheads, I decided to give the Aztec mask another shot but wanted to see how other people used it first, to see if I was doing anything wrong. Turns out, your supposed to use apple cider vinegar or water, not both. Apple cider vinegar turned out to be much more beneficial, as it helps the mask mix into a nice cream. Vinegar is also really good for your skin and any acne or blackheads because it balances your skins pH level! I also learned that my skin was purging the junk from its pores and not getting acne from the mask. After 2 uses, my skin stopped purging so heavily. Now I just use it for blackheads. 😁 I also stopped waiting for the mask to dry before rinsing it off because if you let it dry, then it will strip your skin of its moisture and that will lead to inflammation and then more acne! Instead, I wait for the mask to get damp and sticky to the touch before rinsing it off, which is usually between 10 and 15 minutes. I have learned that the drying times depends on my skins hydration levels before using the mask. If my face is drier than usual, like during winter, then it will become damp quicker. Usually around 10 minutes. If my skin is oilier and more hydrated, like during summer, then it will take 15 minutes. For the mixture: I use equal parts of the mothers apple cider vinegar (but you can use any apple cider vinegar) and the clay. I mix it until it’s a cream texture and Ill add more clay powder or vinegar if I need to. I apply a thick layer and leave it on until sticky to the touch. Then I rinse it off with luke warm water. A good dupe for this mask, if you do not want to mix it up yourself is the Acure Lemonade mask, that I bought from Target. It contains the bentonite clay, charcoal and other good ingredients for acne. It isn’t as good as the Aztec but it’s the best one that I have tried out of all other clay masks. First Impressions Aztec Secret Clay Mask
After reading so many good reviews, I bought this today at Target for $7.99. I used water to mix with the powder in a bowl. I tried mixing with my fingers but you definitely need a spoon. I couldn’t get the mix just right at first so I ended up making a bit more than I needed. I layered the mask AZTEC SECRET - Indian Healing Clay thick on my face. It felt nice and cool going on and was easy to spread. Since I had so much I used the rest on my neck, chest and my feet. I kept it on for 20 mins. At around the 10 minute mark the mask starts to harden and pull your face tight... A little bit later it starts to “pulse” on your face. Once I washed it off, my skin felt really clean and everything was so soft. I didn’t have much redness on my face immediately after. My pores were slightly smaller after this first time. I definitely can’t wait to continue with this mask! I will update once I use this mask for a while.

Just another journey
Natural hair chronicles.👩🏽‍🦱 Based off research & experience I’d say my hair is either high porosity or a mixture of both. Furthermore, I have multiple textures when its wet. Therefore, I still don’t know exactly how to cater to my whole head just yet & I’ve been natural for years. Protein overload 🚫 Ahhh, I realized recently that almost every product i’ve used had some type of protein in it.😳 My hair is very strong but doesn’t retain moisture like it used to. Consequently, I have to change my entire routine to products that don’t contain any protein or coconut oil. ⚠️Current Routine: Shampoo: SheaMoisture - Raw Shea Butter Moisture Retention Shampoo. I’ll be alternating withKinky-Curly - Come Clean, Natural Moisturizing Shampoofor clarifying. I’ll also incorporate AZTEC SECRET - Indian Healing Clay when necessary. Conditioner: aussie - Miracle Moist 3 Minute Miracle with Avocado for Dry Hair Repairfor detangling. Deep conditioner: SheaMoisture - Raw Shea Butter Moisture Recovery Treatment Masque Packette Styling: (not in order) SheaMoisture - Raw Shea Butter Extra-Moisture Detangler Kinky-Curly - Knot Today, Natural Leave In / Detangler #Camille Rose - Fresh Curl Revitalizing Hair Smoother[products]# #Curls - Creme Brule Whipped Curl Cream[products]# SheaMoisture - Sugarcane Extract & Meadowfoam Seed Silicone Free Leave-In DIY hair butter for sealing. I know my hair care needs some tweaking, if anybody could recommend any products that don’t contain anything that’ll contribute to my problem, please do!

My experience with a popular clay mask
My experience with a popular clay mask
This clay mask is very popular around the internet, and after watching a few videos on YouTube about this mask I decided to try it out for myself. With this review I am only going to share my experience with this mask and I acknowledge that everyone’s skin is different and what didn’t work for me doesn’t mean that it won’t work for someone else! AZTEC SECRET - Indian Healing Clay is a powder based clay that you can mix with a liquid and then apply it to your face, the instructions recommend leaving it one for 10mins. A popular liquid to mix this with is Apple Cider Vinegar, or water. I have mixed it with both ACV and water when trying out this mask. I normally use this mask maybe once every 2 weeks. Although when I first got the mask I used it every week for about 6 months. I honestly wanted to love this mask but this isn’t my favorite. I’ll start with a few Pros to the mask and then follow with where it fell short for me PROS It is relatively cheap for how much product you are getting ($11) and one bottle of this stuff lasts a very long time and a little goes a long way As it is a clay mask it does do a good job at mopping up extra oil on the skin although there were other products that I found do a better job on the day to day It is very satisfying seeing the oil being drawn out of my pores it is supposedly a very versatile mask and can be used for deodorizing other parts of the body (armpits, feet) CONS The major con and where this product fell short for me was although it did mop up the excess oil on my skin it was very short lived Made my skin very dry and even though I applied moisturizer after using it, my skin produced even more oil to compensate leaving my pores more clogged then before I unfortunately didn’t see much improvement in my acne even when I was using the product once a week. Overall this mask hasn’t been a favorite of mine. I wanted to love it but it didn’t work with my skin and it wasn’t worth it to me. I still use it every once in a while but I find myself using it on other parts of my body (foot mask, armpit detox) more than my face. But it’s all about learning, and I learned that even though this product ultimately didn’t work I was able to learn more about my skin in the process. When I run out of this bottle I definitely will NOT be repurchasing.

Face mask for Acne and Large pores 👹
Face mask for Acne and Large pores 👹
This is my holy grail for break outs and large pores! I love AZTEC SECRET - Indian Healing Clay . Calcium Bentonite Clay has been used for thousands of year (why it’s called an Aztec secret). It absorbs oil, dirt, sebum, and bacteria from skin leaving it smooth and cleansed. It’s also used for hair mask, toothpaste, and deodorant (I haven’t tested this out yet). I mix mines with apple cider vinegar, but you can also use water if you don’t like the smell. The vinegar reacts with the clay which in my opinion makes it more effective than water. I leave it on for 15-20, but the instructions does advise if you have sensitive skin, use only for 10 minutes. It leaves my skin very clean and gets deep into my pores. I follow this with my serum and moisturizer. (The bowl and mixing kit I got from amazon for $6.99 to mix it properly bu measuring and applying with the brush provided).

is this really the most powerful facial ?
is this really the most powerful facial ?
I bought this off urban outfitters after seeing some videos about it and how amazing it worked for their skin! keep in mind that I have oily skin, especially right now in the summer and large pores that I want to get less noticeable. I first started using it with apple cider vinegar as I had it on hand and heard it works best with it and so that’s all I have been using it with so don’t personally know the different with using water instead. the first time I made the mistake of mixing it with a metal spoon, making the face mask fizz and completely not work (whoops!) make sure everything you use to mix it and hold it in, make sure it isn’t metal !! (i use the end of one of my makeup brushes hahaha). how to use: with using non metal utensils, mix equal parts water or acv and the powder. however, you want to use enough liquid so that the face mask isn’t too firm and clumps together ! leave it on for no longer than 5-10 mins for sensitive skin and 15-20 for normal! I leave it on for 20 since my face has gotten use to it. it is also normal if your face is red afterwards and should go away within 30 mins ! for me, my face has never been too red from it and goes away sooner! so, how do I feel about this mask? I paid $12 I believe for 1 pound (standard size) and honestly with how much you get, a little really does go a very very long way! it is a time consuming mask with the fact that you need to basically make it yourself, but apart from that I love it ! it is one of my go to face masks, and you really do feel your face pulsate like it says it would ! the reason I gave it 4/5 stars is that the taking off process is a bit annoying. I heard that it is not the best to wash the whole mask off in the sink if it is prone to clogging, so I just kind of peel it off in chunks as I put a thick-ish later on and then wash the rest off with warm water. I will probably repurchase this mask once it runs out as it really does draw impurities off your skin, pores, pimples them all !!! AZTEC SECRET - Indian Healing Clay

This 100% natural calcium bent
This 100% natural calcium bentonite clay mask basically vacuums out your pores, and Ive been using it religiously for 4 years now. Oh, and it’s only 10$ for a 1-pound jar that will last you for an entire year! You’re probably wondering what makes this face mask so much better than the other ones out there. For starters, it makes your face pulsate! You will feel a tightening and pulling sensation and once you remove the mask, you’ll notice a dramatic difference. Whether you have acne, blackheads, or just want some deep cleansing you probably owe it to yourself to give this tub of dreams a try. I have combination skin and this works really well on my skin! Directions: Mix clay with equal parts of raw apple cider vinegar (preferably) or water on a non-metal bowl and utensil. Stir the mixture and apply evenly to the face or other area. Remove clay after 10-15 mins with warm water. Slight redness of the skin is normal and will disappear in about 30 mins.
