PORELESS? MORE LIKE USELESS 🗑

I have oily skin and my pores are huge! I use 2 primers religiously:
tarte - Timeless Smoothing Primer
helps to blur the appearance of pores
I ran out of my Tarte primer and didn’t have time to run to Sephora for another one so I walked to my local pharmacy to find a miracle. Instead I found the e.l.f. - Poreless Putty Primer
which claimed to be poreless and even had the same color and similar packaging to the Tarte primer I use and it was only $8, so why not? Sometimes drugstore brands will try to dupe high end products and I thought this was one of those time but I was so wrong. I should have known with all of the oximorons there were listed on the packaging: - Poreless - Sheer - Hydrating - Grip - Smoothing The primer is a pink cream that basically disappears when you rub it in. It has no effect on the appearance of my pores. It does have squalene in it which helps hydrate the skin. I think this would probably be better for someone with dry skin. It is more of a moisturizer then anything else This was a miss for me. Ordered a new Tarte primer ASAP. #CheriePartner

Today's TJMaxx Haul!
Today I went to TJ Maxx looking for nothing in particular (you let that store tell you what you need) and I found these products! I'm so excited for my next evening off so I can try out the e.l.f. - Hydrating Bubble Mask! I tried it out on the back of my hand and man it looks fun!! I was intrigued by the BECCA - Ever-Matte Poreless Priming Perfector. I really want to put it to the test and see how well it keeps my t-zone matte! Lastly, I found SEPHORA COLLECTION - Matte Perfection Full Coverage Foundation. I can't wait to try it out and see how I did on shade matching! All of these products have never been opened or used and in total, cost lest than $15 all together! I love shopping skincare and makeup on a budget!

Concealer’s For My Full Makeup Routine
Hey guys! Here is a little look at a full face routine that I do when I have the time. I love this look! When I do wear makeup I usually do this. Here is my list of products that I used for this look BECCA - Ever-Matte Poreless Priming Perfector L.A. Girl - HD Pro Concealer -Fawn L.A. Girl - HD Pro Concealer -Reddish MAC - Mineralize Concealer -NW45 BLACK RADIANCE - True Complexion CC Palette -Medium Deep Too Faced - Born This Way Natural Finish Foundation -Tiramisu BLACK RADIANCE - True Complexion Soft Focus Finishing Powder -Milk Chocolate Finish BLK/OPL - True Skin Perfecting Stick Foundation 15 -Ebony Brown REVOLUTION - MAKEUP REVOLUTION Loose Baking Powder -Banana Deep BLACK RADIANCE - True Complexion Contour Palette -Dark to Deep BLACK RADIANCE - Color Perfect Highlighter Palettes -Sunkissed Glow SEPHORA COLLECTION - Colorful Wink-It Felt Tip Liquid Eyeliner - Waterproof ANASTASIA Beverly Hills - Dipbrow Pomade -Ebony JORDANA - Classic Lipliner Classic -Coco Loco JULEP - So Plush Ultra Hydrating Lip Gloss -Polished I ran out of my NYX - Matte Finish Makeup Setting Spray !!!! As you can see I used bullet points to emphasize the concealers I used and yeah, lol it’s four of them. I know to some it may seem like a lot but I honestly feel like I need it! Especially where my hyperpigmentation is and my under eye darkness. I’m working on my skincare routine to start from root and I’ve seen progress but it’s taking time. Tbh, these mask and being incredibly stressed have done quite a number on my skin. The BLACK RADIANCE - True Complexion CC Palette is used when I am looking for the finest detail on my face and I want an even complexion everywhere. I am usually doing a full coverage routine if I use this palette. My red tinted concealer from L.A. Girl is great for my dark marks and under the eye as well as going on top of my damn mustache (threading appointment soon, believe me). I use the other L.A. Girl concealer and my MAC concealer for highlighting. I love using them both for the pretty, light and lifted effect it gives for my eyes. I’m still working on application but I definitely see a difference when I use both. Absolutely any tips and suggestions and feedback are incredibly appreciated. Thank you!

4 WAYS TO REPURPOSE AND REUSE PRODUCT PACKAGING!
A few weeks ago I was talking to some makeup enthusiasts about how I hoard my product packaging! The boxes that the product containers come in and the actual containers themselves. I don’t know why but I will keep them for weeks (or longer 🙈) before discarding them. So instead of just having them lying around collecting dust I’ve decided to repurpose them. I use tarte - Timeless Smoothing Primer and I can’t throw away my empty container until I replace it. So this time instead of tossing the old container I decided to use it as a container for a DIY lip scrub (I just used petroleum jelly and brown sugar). The packaging is so tiny I can just throw it in my bag or leave on my desk. I also kept the box from the new primer i got to put hair ties and hair clips in. I always lose my hair accessories in my bag so now I have a place that all of them can live! I finished my urban decayURBAN DECAY - Naked Skin Color Correcting Fluid color corrector and found a dupe for it but I really like the packaging for the UD product because it comes with a brush applicator that makes it easy to just apply to your face without having to use a makeup brush. I put the dupe product in the UD container and now I can apply it as easily as I did the UD product. I use Sunny Isle - The Original Sunny Isle Jamaican Black Castor Oil and applying it to my scalp can be a real chore because I have to part my hair and apply between sections. My sister uses a castor oil that has a dropper so she just sticks the dropper in her hair and onto her scalp and rubs it in without parting her hair but the oil that she uses is more expensive than Sunny Isle and I really like the oil just not the application process. When I finished my bottle of ASTERWOOD NATURALS - Vitamin C Serum I rinsed out the packaging and filled it with my castor oil. Now I can easily apply oil to my scalp without having to spend more money! #CheriePartner

THE PERFECT BASE: NO MORE OIL!
For people with oily skin or people that have oily t-zones it can be so hard to find a makeup combination that will keep your makeup in place for a few hours let alone all day. It is pretty much impossible for my skin to be 100% oil free all day but I have seen a reduction in how oily my skin gets and I no longer have to reapply using this method. Rather than an looking like a greaseball I look “dewy” . Step 1: After i moisturize my face I use BECCA - Ever-Matte Poreless Priming Perfector This is not for people with normal to dry skin. It can be very drying but it works great for oily or combination skin it really gives my skin a matte finish and absorbs any oil on my skin Step 2: I use tarte - Timeless Smoothing Primer This is great for reducing the appearance of pores and smithing out the texture of your skin. It is super thick and a little goes a long way. Step 3: URBAN DECAY - Naked Skin Color Correcting Fluid This comes in a variety of colors but because I use it for dark spots and dark circles i use the shade Deep Peach. It helps to brighten dark areas and no dark spots shine through my foundation. Step 4: laura mercier - Translucent Loose Setting Powder I use the deep shade. I set my face with powder before I put on my foundation. This soaks up additional oils and I feel like putting powder on after my foundation makes my face look matte. If I am going for a dewy look I put it on before. And wait until i see little spots from where the powder absorbed oil before wiping away the excess. Step 5: LANCÔME - Teint Idole Ultra Long Wear Foundation i use the shade 530 Suede C. I love this foundation. It is a full coverage liquid foundation. It’s not super runny this foundation lasts longer than any other foundation I’ve used and it’s so easy to blend! Step 6: Setting spray. I like to spray on my foundation before i highlight and contour my face and after. It helps my makeup stay in place way longer. I use MAC - Prep + Prime Fix+ Primer and Setting Spray Matte Finish #CheriePartner

Impressed!! One of my favourite primers!!
Impressed!! One of my favourite primers!!
Okay so this is one of my top three primers! It took me years to find one that works for my skin and my skin routine. This is it. Thank goodness for Innisfree. Korean beauty is top tier especially for skin care beauty enthusiast who do a lot of steps and then need to put on makeup without it siding all over the place or getting patchy. In the winter season I usually only put on my nose and eyelids as they get oily. If I go heavy on moisturizer or hydration, I will put it all over. You don’t need much, it makes a flawless finish. Can be semi matte or dewy depending on your skincare. I like how I can control my oil but still do a dewy look as I have combination skin that leans way more towards dry dry dry. It has a light scent and as is affordable. It prevents makeup from sliding into those under eye expression lines. I just love how my makeup looks after and zero lines on my nose from my glasses either...also a first innisfree - Pore blur primer

I’ve been seeing this around the Cherie app from lots of different users. So I thought I’d give it a go and I picked it up last night. Okay, this stuff WORKS. And I mean it’s fantastic. I have very noticeable pores on my nose and around my nose and this just made them disappear before my eyes! It kinda smells like Vix Vapor Rub 😹which isn’t bad! It’s not a bad smell. It’s just interesting, not gross though. The pump is very easy to use and slides down with such little effort. If you want something to eliminate your pores, but don’t wanna pay over $10 this is the way to go! However it is OILY. Super oily. If you have oily skin, I don’t recommend this product, which is why I docked it a star. :) still a great product though. e.l.f. - Poreless Face Primer

Initially, I bought this e.l.f. - Poreless Putty Primer because I saw Jeffree Star’s glowing review and to be honest he was spot on! This primer is amazing! I usually buy primers in tubes, so using this one was tricky in the beginning. I saw that a similar primer is applied with a small dime shaped item, so my brilliant idea was to use a sanitized coin😅! It works y’all - don’t hate til you see how it works for you hahaha! I always use primer because I wear makeup at least six days a week and I have oily combo skin so I need to have a good primer pre foundation! This primer applies easily with my coin 😉 and then I smooth it out on my face. I always wait a few minutes to let it settle in before foundation but I do this with all of my primers. It’s a soft creamy primer that smoothes over the pore and minimize their appearance when wearing alone or with foundation! Online it states you can apply with fingers too - since that warmth of your fingers will help with a better application! Overall, I need to blot my face throughout the day but I do see my foundation lasting anywhere from 6-8 hours when wearing this primer. I bought this in August when it was finally back in stock at Ulta’s and been using this or one of my other primers interchangeably. For $8.00, you cannot find a better deal since each jar comes with 0.74 oz of product. I like it because the price makes it affordable for all beauty lovers and because it is effective! However, I did wish they would come with an application tool like Tatcha does. If you are in need of a new primer or want to try it out, go ahead and get yourself this primer because it is a steal!

This primer is great because it’s oil free and even though the texture may seem a bit greasy/slick when you first warm it up in your fingers, once you smooth it onto the face you’ll see just how smooth and poreless it can make the skin look and feel! It’s such a great product and especially for those days when I have acne flares and oily skin. I typically use it on the T-zone and it makes my makeup apply like nothing I’ve ever experienced! smashbox - Photo Finish Foundation Primer Super Light

PRIMETIME: My Primer Collection ✨
PRIMETIME: My Primer Collection ✨
I have accumulated a collection of primers. I have oily skin and HUGE pores so any primer I use I am looking to minimize the appearance of pores and creating a dry base for my makeup. My go to primers are tarte - Timeless Smoothing Primer & BECCA - Ever-Matte Poreless Priming Perfector the combo is MAGICAL ✨. 🍋Benefit thePOREfessional Matte Rescue:This is a liquid gel primer (by gel I mean water!!! So so watery). You have to rub the product in forever to get it to dry and the mattifying effect is minimal. The product also claims to blur pores and it does no such thing. The result is very disappointing because their original primer pretty good. I would not recommend! 🍐Benefit thePOREfessional Face Primer: I like this primer. It is a silky balm and the consistency is a lot thicker than their Matte Rescue Primer. It feels lightweight on the skin. This does a good job of blurring my pores, however, it’s hard for my makeup to grip my face after using this product and some sliding/separating can occur. I like to press this into my face instead of rubbing for best results and really only use this as a back up for when I run out of my Becca Primer. 🍉Milk Hydro Grip Primer: This is a gel primer. It feels lightweight on the face and does a great job of griping makeup. I would recommend this to people with normal to dry skin. This does nothing for oil control so if it isn’t combined with another Mattifying primer it will not last on oily skin. When I use this with my Becca primer it will last all day but it does nothing for pores or mattifying. 🍊✨Tarte Timeless Smoothing Primer: I am in LOVE with this primer. It has a very thick consistency and can be a little hard to rub into your skin but once it’s on your pores are gone. Leaves a nice smooth base for my make up. My only qualm is it is only .5 oz and I have to repurchase it more frequently than any of my other products but so worth it! 🍓✨Becca Ever-Matte Poreless Priming Perfector: Another FAVORITE! This works wonders for my oily skin! It can be drying especially if a toner/astringent is apart of your daily skincare routine so I wound recommend to anyone with dry skin. This keeps my face dry all day! If you have oily skin do yourself a favor! 🥭 L’Oréal Infallible Matte-Lock Mattifying Primer: This product did not work for me at all. The matting effect is minimal and it does nothing for my oily skin. It is a white lotion that literally disappears when you rub it in. If you have oily skin DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY 👎🏾🗑
