Saving my skin
Wow, wow, wow do I LOVEEE this serum! It deserves all the stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ First off, my skin had loads of texture from previous acne flair ups. My skin just looked rough to the touch even though it wasn’t. Even after clearing up my acne, my skin still looked rough. Then, I spotted this. I was new to serums and acids at the time of purchase but it knew it could really have some affect on my overall skin texture. 2-3x a week in the evening after cleansing is all that is needed. It does sting a bit but that quickly dissipates after a few minutes. A month of using this and my skin not only looks smoother but IS smoother. My skin feels baby soft when I wake up and glows. I definitely recommend this product for those with acne prone skin, hyperpigmentation and rough texture. 😊 💋
What am I missing? Blackhead/large pores
PM Routine TULA SKINCARE - Kefir Replenishing Cleansing Oil This cleansing oil works really good to melt all the makeup off your face, I love it so far! TULA SKINCARE - The Cult Classic Purifying Face Cleanser This has been my favorite so far. Very gentle. Little to no scent. My face feels very clean after using it. TULA SKINCARE - Deep Exfoliating Blackhead Scrub I use this no more then 2 times a week bc it is fairly harsh. I do see a difference in the morning after using it. I’ve only been using for about a month now so I’m not 100% sold on it. I haven’t seen “long term” results from it just yet. The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution touch in SOL - No Poreblem Prime Essence Not pictured but recently started using it this past week. It’s only been a week but I do see a slight difference in my pores. Time will tell! FARMACY - Honeymoon Glow Serum Love this so far. When I wake up my face is glowing GLAMGLOW - MOISTURETRIP Omega-Rich Face Moisturizer This is a favorite. It’s extremely moisturizing! Even though this works very well I do plan on changing to the farmacys oil free moisturizer since I have oily skin. AM Routine The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution I don’t cleanse in the morning bc it’s very drying to my skin. I use some toner to “clean my skin” however someone recommended Sephora’s glow pads which i was thinking about switching to for AM. CLEAN SKIN CLUB - Vitamin C Brightening Booster I haven’t used many vitamin C’s but I do have to say this has by far been my favorite. It’s very moisturing and not to oily. KYPRIS - ANTIOXIDANT DEW Every now and then to switch it up I’ll use this instead of the vitamin C listed above. It works well just a little bit watery. GLAMGLOW - MOISTURETRIP Omega-Rich Face Moisturizer Ending with my moisturizer Since starting my skincare routine my face has cleared up a ton and has more of a glow then ever before. I didn’t have bad acne but I had at least a few “zits/bumps” on my face at a time. Now I rarely have 1-2 which I’m thankful for. BUT it has NOT helped with clearing out my blackheads and minimizing my pores in my T zone. What am I missing? What should I take out or add in? Someone recommended the ordinary’s chemical peel and niacinamide 10%+ zinc 1%. Is this what I need to step up my skincare routine? Please help!

Teen Acne: Best Products to Help
Quite recently I made a post about some tips and tricks that help with acne. Now I’m ready to recommend my favorite products that help deal with breakouts. —Serums— THE inkey LIST - Niacinamide Oil Control Serum This is a very affordable and effective serum that has a 10% concentration of niacinamide. Niacinamide can help reduce the appearance of pores, help with uneven skin tone, and lessen fine lines and wrinkles. -Fragrance-free. -Packaging protects air and light sensitive ingredients. -Includes skin-plumping hyaluronic acid and hydrating squalane. The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% This is very popular product from The Ordinary that always sells out because of how effective and and affordable it is. -Fragrance-free. -Weightless gel texture. -Contains a high amount of niacinamide. —Toner— PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA (Salicylic Acid) Liquid Exfoliator This product has a really amazing formula and is one of my holy grails. It is a product that is higher in price but it is worth the investment. -Liquid consistency which is great for all skin types. -Soothing green tea calms redness. -Smooths clogged pores. —Spot Treatment- CLINIQUE - Acne Solutions Clinical Clearing Gel This is another one of my holy grail products. This is a product I can always rely on since it gives me results overnight. -Come in a big bottle and since it is a spot treatment, this product lasts for a very long time. -High concentration of salicylic acid. -Includes laminaria saccharina extract which is great for deceasing oil buildup which can lead to breakouts.
Why niacinamide is my holy grail ingredient...
Okay so this product is a new love for me. I need to delve into a story time for you guys... So last year I started using The Ordinary’s Niacinamide 10% + Zinc serum after hearing rave reviews from people with cystic acne and pimples and it gave me CHEMICAL BURNS. Horrifying experience all around. So I ditched it, and swore off niacinamide forever... That is until I tried the Summer Fridays Jet Lag mask which has a high-ish concentration of niacinamide...and it didn’t break me out. So then after a while of only having niacinamide in my routine in that mask, I thought I should go with a higher quality niacinamide formula and ended up splurging on the Paula’s Choice 10% niacinamide booster: PAULA'S CHOICE - 10% Niacinamide Booster My skin type is sensitive, rosacea acne-prone, and before I used this product I had insane “orange peel” skin texture where the majority of my pores live. Wait wait, back up: what does niacinamide even do???! Well, it reduces sebum production in the skin which in turn makes your pores appear smaller but this is usually only with the use of a BHA to keep your pores cleaned out. I use this product mixed in with a hyaluronic acid toner or serum immediately after cleansing both AM and PM daily. This is the product that has made a huge difference in my skin texture the most. I am still wondering what is different between the Ordinary’s serum and this one, but I am never looking back! I would recommend this if you’re looking to “treat yo self” on a formula and you have orange-peel textured skin. This is kind of pricey at $44 for .67oz but when you’re only using a few drops a day, it lasts a very long time. I have been using it for about a month now and I am barely 20% through my bottle. I have to rate it 5/5 stars for my experience with it!!
PAULA'S CHOICE-10% Niacinamide Booster
I have always had an acne prone skin for years, and it is visible in the first photos that I already had a few. So i tried different products and switched so often because I’m too desperate to have something work on my skin and see fast results. And now, I could not remember which worked for me anymore. As I’ve observed, my acne worsened since covid19 when I started wearing face masks and hat, since I’m working in a fast food restaurant. I have been using The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% for months and I think it’s one thing that has been contributing good on my skin helping brighten my dark acne marks. Also The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution which I use twice-thrice a month combatting my large pores and whiteheads. The cleansers I have used before were COSRX - Low PH Good Morning Gel Cleanser , which I actually liked but felt a little drying so I switched to PURITO - Defence Barrier Ph Cleanser but then again, I was so impatient that I did not see any result so I switched to YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Cleanser Refill . Together with that, I’m using dear, klairs - Freshly Juiced Vitamin C Drop at night, and TO Niacinamide in the morning. Can you guys recommend cleanser, treatment, and noncomedogenic moisturizer that could help me with my skin?

is paula’s choice worth the $$ ?
I started purchasing this brand at the beginning of the year as I saw a lot of skincare youtubers RAVE about paula’s choice, and I thought hey why not? I am confident in saying that I have no regrets with purchasing products from paula’s choice 🤩 the first products I purchased from them were: PAULA'S CHOICE - Pore-Reducing Toner & PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA (Salicylic Acid) Liquid Exfoliator my main concerns on my face are my large pores. yes, pores cannot magically disappear (although I bet a lot of us wish they could), but they can diminish in appearance and that is my goal ! I use the pore reducing toner on days where I feel like my pores need a lil extra tlc, and the 2% bha in the am and pm in my skincare routines and as we know by now, this product is my holy grail, my ride or die. I CANNOT GO WITHOUT IT !!!! the PAULA'S CHOICE - Antioxidant Pore Purifier is also a great product with amazing ingredients for both treating acne and blackheads with the salicylic acid and niacinamide, as well as calming ingredients such as white tea extract and others like it. however, I do not think that I will be repurchasing this product as I want to try other similar products once I run out. pore reducing toner - $21 for 6.4oz 2% bha liquid exfoliator - $29.50 for 4oz antioxidant pore purifier - $31 for 1oz so, is paula’s choice worth the $$ ? I would say yes for most of their products, especially if you get them when they are on sale !! paula’s choice also has an auto-replenishment programme. if you choose to do this, you will get 15% off your auto-replenished product and free shipping. WHAT A STEAL 🤭

THE ORDINARY’S NEW 100% NIACINAMIDE POWDER ‼️‼️
First things first, FOLLOW ME 🤍 So we all know and love The Ordinary’s 10% Niacinamide Serum. Bit should you upgrade to the Niacinamide powder? 100% Niacinamide Powder from The Ordinary offers the most direct topical exposure of Niacinamide to target visible shine, enlarged pores and irregular skin texture. This powder format offers a DIY experience that allows one to personalize their usage based on their preference. In comparison to the Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% solution, this powder format offers the user versatility in combining the benefits of Niacinamide with the benefits of other non-conflicting technologies (such as Peptide serums) to address multiple skin concerns at once. Personally, I will not be buying this. When a scoop of the powder is added a serum, it is only around 10-20% niacinimide. For that amount, I would rather continue using the 10% Niacinamide serum or Paula’s Choice 20% Niacinamide. Mixing in the powder is also quite messy and time consuming, I like to keep my routine nice and simple. Pic from Deciem 🤍
The Ordinary-100% Niacinamide Powder
Pores? NOPE 👋 texture? SEEYA 👋
This is my holy grail of serums. I am Head over heels for this product. I’ve been using it for over a month now and I can’t see myself ever stopping. I suffer from ice pic scarring, acne scarring and large pores. This serum has drastically changed the appearance of my skin - for the better. The best thing, it’s affordable and the quality is amazing. Must try product!

Paula’s choice BHA exfoliant honest review
2% BHA exfoliant by @paulaschoice ⠀ • ⠀ Travel size: 10.00$⠀ Full size: 29.50$ ⠀ • ⠀ It’s watery since it’s a liquid and it doesn’t really have a smell to it, it’s fragrance free. ⠀ • ⠀ • ⠀ Claims: “Exfoliates dead skin cells while clearing pores for a more even, radiant tone, plus visibly reduces fine lines and wrinkles to reveal remarkably smoother, younger-looking skin.” - paula’s choice website ⠀ • ⠀ • ⠀ Why did I get this product? ⠀ ⠀ I was dealing with a really bad breakout on my cheeks and it seemed to never go away, I kept seeing ads about this exfoliant and people were raving about this and talking about how great this exfoliant is, to be honest with you I didn’t really believe that it was going to be that good because it sounded too good to be true but oh boy was I wrong. ⠀ ⠀ My experience with it: ⠀ I used it twice a day and In just a week my pimples started going away. My pores seemed smaller, they were not clogged anymore. My skin felt extremely smooth. So I use this with my niacinamide serum and these 2 together was just wow in 2-3 weeks the dark spots on my forehead started to faded. So if all of that happened in 1-3 weeks imagine what can happen if you use for a year. ⠀ ⠀ My overall opinion: ⠀ I love this exfoliant, I 100% recommend it, I’m currently using the travel size but I will definitely be repurchasing the full size once it’s done. ⠀ • ⠀ • ⠀ I hope you guys enjoyed this review, have you ever tried this product? What did you think of it? ⠀ • ⠀ Follow me on Instagram for more reviews @skincarewithshely⠀
