I have been trying to figure out the best way to take control of my skincare routine. My main concern is the texture of my skin, redness, blackheads on my nose, & large pores on my cheeks. I believe I have combination skin. It can’t often get oily or dry. I’d like any advice having to do with Cerave or The Ordinary. I currently am cleansing my face each morning & night with CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser
I like this cleanser, but am wondering if I should try out some other Cerave facial cleansers for my skin. In the morning I use CeraVe - AM Facial Moisturizing Lotion SPF 30
In the evening I moisturize with CeraVe - PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion
Occasionally, I use the The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution
but I don’t think I have used it consistently enough & often enough to tell a difference. I’ve read that this is good for blackheads on your nose & to use it two nights a week. I have also used The Ordinary - Salicylic Acid 2% Masque
but haven’t used it enough to notice a difference. I’d like to look into trying a few more products to help rejuvenate my skin & give my skin care routine a “facelift” 😉 Any advice or opinions would be wonderful. Thank you! Products I’d like to try include:
CeraVe - Resurfacing Retinol Serum I would like to introduce a retinol into my routine.
CeraVe - Eye Repair Cream I often get dry under eyes, eye lids, & puffiness.
The Ordinary - Lactic Acid 10% + HA I read this was good for textured skin & blackheads.
Thank you in advance! ✨

Review: the beet shield
People have been raving about this product, so I decided to give it a try!! What is the best shield? Well, on the krave beauty website it says the beet shield is a lightweight, soothing day fluid that protects skin from environmental aggressors. Whether it’s sun damage or harmful irritants, The Beet Shield keep pollutants to keep you from getting beet-red. You’re supposed to use this as the last step in your AM skincare routine. My review: This product is great! Before this I was using the CeraVe - AM Facial Moisturizing Lotion SPF 30 which would ball up on my face in small white chunks. My makeup underneath looked awful and it was because of this SPF. Having the beet shield underneath was a game changer for me. This product not only leaves your skin looking dewy and fresh, but my makeup underneath was so smooth. This product does not look like a normal sunscreen. It comes out in a pale color and goes on almost invisible. It’s a very unique formula! I really love this product and I recommend giving it a go! Krave - The Beet Shield

Heyyy so a few months ago my skin exploded in breakouts. I had relatively clear skin before I started taking birth control (I’m like 79% sure that’s what caused my breakouts not 100% tho) Anyways I am still getting the occasional few pimples but I am mostly left with a bunch of scars and some texture. I still do get some pimples and zits as well. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on what I should do to help my skin. Thank you so much! My current routine is Am CeraVe - Hydrating Face Cleanser For Normal To Dry Skin I have been using apple cider vinegar as toner #Pearl essence - Vitamin c[products]# CeraVe - AM Facial Moisturizing Lotion SPF 30 Pm The same cleanser as am CeraVe - PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion I also just started The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solutionwhich I will do once a week!

Morning and night routine - suggestions?
Here is my AM and PM routine. My issues are mostly large pores and blackheads. I feel like my morning routine is missing something. We are trying for baby #2 soon so Retinoids and salicylic acids are out. Morning: CeraVe - Hydrating Facial CleanserI actually just started using this cleanser. Before this I was using Neutrogena - Ultra Gentle Daily Cleanser which I really liked, but the CeraVe had been recommended by so many I thought I would try it. pixi - Rose Tonic I like this toner. Not sure it is doing a whole lot for me. Thinking about trying fresh - Rose Deep Hydration Tonernext. The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% I really want to love this product and I am hoping with continued use I will see more results. I’m thinking of using this once a day instead of twice a day and maybe replacing it with something else. Maybe a vitamin C? CeraVe - Eye Repair Cream this has been working great on my dark puffy eyes. The Ordinary - Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA I’ve been using this for a few weeks. It is okay. I don’t love the way it feels on my skin and will likely go back to Neutrogena - Neutrogena Hydroboost Water Gel Moisturizer which I feel like was better for my skin. Sunscreens: I use CeraVe - Face Sheer Tint Hydrating Sunscreen SPF 30 on days when I am just at home. Unfortunately it does contain Salicylate which have been shown in animal studies to cause birth defects. So I will be discontinuing. MAYBELLINE - Dream Fresh BB Cream 8-In-1 Skin Perfector SPF 30 I use this during the week as a foundation because I have to wear a mask for a good portion of the day and it provides enough coverage without being too heavy. bareMinerals - Complexion Rescue Tinted Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 30 PM routine: Same as above accept I double cleanse with BANILA CO - Clean It Zero Cleansing Balm Marble Edition 2-3 times a week at night I use The Ordinary - Azelaic Acid Suspension 10% I have only been using this for a few weeks, but it is one of the few products you can use for acne during pregnancy. 2x a week I use The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution My skin feels great after I use this. I have noticed much of a change yet. But I am hoping I will over time. 1x a week I use The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution My skin feels amazing after I use this. Unfortunately once we are pregnant I will have to stop using this one. Products I am planning to add: pmd - Clean Smart Facial Cleansing Deviceand pmd - Personal Microderm. These are both arriving in my Fall Welcome Causebox and I cannot wait to add them in! I’ll be able to continue to use both of these once we are pregnant and have heard great things about their effects on large pores.

Eczema flair ups
So after being home for what seems like forever, i’ve suddenly had a flair up of my eczema. It started off on my eyelids for a few months, then with quarantine, it started spreading in my left cheeks, my forehead was extremely dry and cracked, then all over my face. I used to not be sensitive with my acne skincare products, but the more my eczema got worst, the more sensitive my skin would get. Even a splash of water would irritate my skin. I stopped doing my regular skin care routine for a while, it was not doing me good with a compromised skin barrier (which is what eczema is). So this is what has been working for me, after trial and error, these two products together helped clear up my patches, and decrease my redness. Still a little flakey, but not as flakey as it was initially. I start off by cleansing my skin with CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser it’s the only gentle cleanser i have. It still irritates my skin a little sadly, but i try to cleanse less, so usually PM only. And I would rinse my face with just water in the AM. Don’t feel the need that i should spend on another cleanser, since it’s hopefully just temporary until my skin barrier gets stronger. - then i would slather CeraVe - CeraVe Moisturising Cream all over my face on damped skin, avoiding my eye area. Its so thick and perfect for my extremely dry skin. Its so soothing and the ingredients are the best. It’s very hydrating, but just not thick enough for my eczema prone skin. Which is why i follow up with a thin layer of Aquaphor - Aquaphor Healing Ointment prior to doing this, i would wake up with flakey dry skin in the morning, as if all the hydration has disappeared during my sleep. But this ointment helps lock in the cream and keeps my skin hydrated until the morning. Its great for everything tbh. I would also put this on my eyelids since i have redness there as well. (Side note: i’ve been using this for my cracked lips for years, it’s the absolute best for drugstore lip balm). But if you have those bad days where your lips gets extremely dry to the point that you don’t know what to do anymore and your regular lip balm that you’ve used for a lifetime does not work, i would recommend #La Roche-Posay - Cicaplast levres[products]#[FiveStars] you wake up the next day as if nothing has happened, you get completely healed lips. I swear by it!!! It’s very thick, with a mat finish, it’s nothing like other lip balms ive used before. It also contains great ingredients such as panthenol which is great for repairing. The less is better for eczema prone skin, and i hope these two holy grail products of mine works for you too. You really need patience, and so far i am loving the results. My patches has gone away and my redness is slowly calming down. I thought i would need a whole new routine but i will stick to this for now.

My favorite cleansers
I’ve tried so manny cleansers in my skin journey, but these are the ones I absolutely love, I’ve kind of stuck with the one brand because I’m slow to trust other products!😂 My favorite one at the moment is CeraVe - Acne Foaming Cream Cleanser I love this product because it cleared up my active acne and it really cleans your face! I have also noticed that my blackheads are starting to clear up and be less noticeable! My second favorite is the CeraVe - SA Smoothing Cleanser this one is a better than I thought it would be when i first got it!😂 it’s really smooth and it made my face so soft! The other two are ok, I use the CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser when I have dry skin. And the CeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin is good for when my face needs a break from the active ingredients the first two have! Definitely would recommend all of them! There all really good!

My “Ordinary” Journey
My skincare routine needed a revamp but I didn’t know where to start. I wanted to use products with good ingredients but I know many companies “green wash” to make you believe all their ingredients are great. I did lots of research and decided to give The Ordinary a try. A little background on my skin: I have aging skin (I’m pushing 38) and it’s been on the dryer side since having kids. I also tend to get peri-oral dermatitis every winter. Then of course, I still get occasional breakouts! Yay hormones 😜 In September, as I was running out of my current skincare products, I replaced them with The Ordinary. I chose HONEST - Gentle Gel Cleanser as I didn’t want anything to harsh or stripping on my dry skin. After I cleanse, I mist my face with HERITAGE STORE - Rosewater Spray then apply The Ordinary - Matrixyl* 10% + HA Because this contains HA, it should be applied to damp skin. On top of that I apply The Ordinary - "Buffet" + Copper Peptides 1% I gave this 4 stars because it’s sooooo sticky and takes a while to dry down before I can move to my next step. After that drys, I go for The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% I may not have clear skin all of the time, but when I do get blemishes, they clear up very quickly. This stuff is amazing! I follow that with The Ordinary - Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA and COOLA - Classic Full Spectrum 360 Sun Silk Drops SPF 30 Since starting this routine, my skin looks so much better when I apply makeup and when I don’t wear any, My skin tone much more even. And this year, as winter approached, I did not develop peri-oral dermatitis. My skin retains moisture so much better than it ever has.

Glow Recipe Niacinamide: Dewy, lovely, worth it?
I LOVE Niacinamide, and am not unfamiliar with Glow Recipes products. I have been quite the fan of their Watermelon line (sleeping mask is a fav), especially during the summertime. Throughout the cold season I’ve been loving their Banana Soufflé Moisture Cream. I am actively using their Plum Plump Serum as well. However, their products are $$. I received some as gifts on my birthday, but bit the bullet to purchase Plum Plump and the Banana Soufflé after sampling them and falling in love. Overall, though, I don’t feel that I’ve wasted my money, despite their price range. For me, it was worth it. So what about their newest product? GLOW RECIPE - Watermelon Glow Niacinamide Dew Drops Well, as with all their products, it’s a bit pricey, retailing for 34 USD. It smells like fresh watermelon, just like the rest of their line, and the packaging is aesthetically pleasing being frosted glass, and fully recyclable. I also want to recognize the fresh ingredients they use, that their products are vegan, cruelty free, and sustainably sourced. But all that being said, for 34 USD, is it worth it? I’ve been using The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% on and off for quite some time now. I give it 4 stars because it can be quite tacky on the skin, and doesn’t really leave me glowing per say; BUT, it’s a reliable, affordable, effective product. It does it’s job fading discoloration while brightening, and the added zinc helps control and heal breakouts. It retails for 5.90 USD at Sephora, so there’s a huge price difference between these two products, and the Ordinary’s is so accessible when you’re on a budget, which I love. So what are my final thoughts? I personally hadn’t planned on purchasing the Dew drops, as I couldn’t justify the price especially when I already had The Ordinary’s serum. Well, my sis purchased it for me for Christmas, so naturally I’ve been using it and had to review the Dew drops. I haven’t been using it long enough to see if it makes a difference in brightening my skin as the Ordinary does over time, but it definitely makes me glow. The formula is so silky, a gel-serum it spreads like a dream, and I love to mix it w/Plum Plump serum and then apply. It leaves me with such a dewy result that I have to admit...I love it. It’s never tacky when I’m done patting it in, and it layers perfectly with the rest of my products. The drops aren’t eplacement for highlighter or makeup, and adding it over makeup on high points of the face made it feel tacky. So don’t expect that. But as a base when you’re prepping your skin for makeup, Its lovely. My skin looks lit within whenever I use it. Is it necessary? No, it’s definitely a luxury product IMO. If you can drop the $$ on it, then treat yourself! But if you’re looking for results on a budget, this product is just not necessary when a tried and true like The Ordinary WILL get the job done. 💕

Best Moisturizers
I have tried many moisturizers but here are the ones I think are best for each skin type! ❤️Best for Oily Skin❤️ CeraVe - PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion This moisturizer is suitable for most skin types but it is great for oily skin types because it contains niacinamide which can aid in controlling the overproduction of oil. It is very moisturizing but it doesn’t make your skin look greasy. I absolutely love this moisturizer and strongly recommend it. 🧡Best for Dry Skin🧡 FIRST AID BEAUTY - FAB Pharma Arnica Relief & Rescue Mask This is technically a moisturizing mask but when my skin is feeling dry I use it as a moisturizer. Is is so soothing and has an interesting texture and smell. The product comes out of the tube blue and with an almost whipped texture. When you put it on your face it sinks in slowly if you apply it as a leave on mask, but if you rub it in it sinks in pretty quickly. I personally love the light natural scent it has (it is almost medicinal) but I realize it may be off putting to others. 💛Best for Combination Skin💛 GLOW RECIPE - Banana Soufflé Moisture Cream This moisturizer has niacinamide (can aid in controlling the overproduction of oil), is hydrating, and gives your skin a nice glow. At first I wasn’t a huge fan but with continued use I grew to love it! It has a light banana scent but Glow Recipe product contain extremely little fragrance. I think this would be great for combination skin as long as you don’t mind the glow. 💚Best for Sensitive Skin💚 FIRST AID BEAUTY - Skin Rescue Daily Face Cream This may be my favorite moisturizer! It is hydrating but feels very light on the skin. It sinks in quickly and has a smaller ingredient list so there isn’t a very big risk of irritation. It is very simple but in a great way! 💙Best for Normal Skin💙 FIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair Cream If you have normal skin you can use any of the moisturizers I’ve recommended, but this one is really nice, effective, and has a great formula. It is great for dry or sensitive skin as well. It makes my skin feel very hydrated and has never caused issues with my acne prone skin. 💜Honorable Mentions💜 cocokind - Matcha Face Moisturizer This moisturizer is interesting. I feel like that is the best way to put it. It is very thick but it is also mattifying. Because of this, I think it would be suitable for all skin types (including oily) if you prefer thick moisturizers. The one problem I may have with it, though, is that it may have made my milia slightly worse. The Ordinary - Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA I think this is a great moisturizer but I personally prefer other ones. If you are looking for a simple moisturizer that it inexpensive and delivers great hydration, this might be a great option. Leave a comment if you have tried these or have any recommendations!

FULL Gentle Hydrating Skincare Routine
This has kind of been the theme of my entire Cherie page since its creation, but I’ve been needing to really hydrate my skin more since the weather’s become colder. Having rosacea means I always need to do extra research on the products I try. So after some experimenting, trying a LOT of new products, and deciding to stick to some old favorites, this is the routine I’ve come up with for myself: AM Routine Cleanser - The Inkey List Oat Cleansing Balm: A recent switch for the winter from Cosrx Good Morning Gel. I’ve never used a balm before and I have to say, I really like it. It does an excellent job of cleansing away any dirt or excess oils but leaves my skin feeling incredibly nourished. Toner - FAB Wild Oat Ultra Hydrating Toner: Another recent switch. This toner is so hydrating that I don’t need to use hydrating masks or overnight creams as frequently as I used to and it’s very calming. Serum - Peach & Lily’s Glass Skin Refining Serum: This is definitely worth the hype. My skin has been noticeably smooth since using it. Spot Treatment - TULA Go Away Acne: Uses benzoyl peroxide to work on acne which can interfere with rosacea, so I don’t use this on my cheeks but it works well in other areas. Not a repurchase for me. Eye Cream - Cetaphil Deep Hydration Refreshing Eye Serum: I said recently that eye cream doesn’t work for me, but I’m starting to get wrinkles under my eyes and thought it was important to kick up the hydration and attention. This one is quite gentle and pretty affordable. Moisturizer - CeraVe Facial Moisturizing Lotion: Undefeated! If I need some extra hydration I’ll add a couple drops of Leo Oil and mix on my hand using my ring finger. Sunscreen - EltaMD SPF 46 on days with no makeup or ILIA Serum Skin Tint: Both are mineral sunscreens and unscented with protection in the 40s. PM Routine Cleanser - The Inkey List Oat Cleansing Balm: ...and I’ll double cleanse with my old Cosrx Good Morning Gel if I wore makeup that day. Toner - FAB Wild Oat Ultra Hydrating Toner Serum - Paula’s Choice CALM 1% BHA Lotion Exfoliant or 10% Azelaic Acid Booster: I like to alternate between these two serums. The BHA (salicylic acid) targets pores and redness. The Azelaic Acid Boost contains salicylic acid too, but is more effective at targeting rosacea specifically. Eye Cream - Veriphy 20/20 Eye Cream: Received this as a gift and I actually really like it! Contains ingredients like peptides, niacinamide, and cucumber extract. But it’s wildly expensive and I won’t be able to repurchase. Moisturizer - CeraVe Facial Moisturizing Lotion + Astrologiens Leo Oil: At night I always combine these two if I’m not using my Naturium Sleeping Cream (2 pumps + 2 drops). I have individual reviews on a number of these products, so if you’re interested in learning more about something feel free to check those posts out or just ask a question here :) Most of these products are generally rosacea and sensitive skin safe. I have type 1 rosacea for reference.

New and Improved Winter Routine
After a lot of trial and error, I think I’ve found a routine that works for me (at least for the time being). I am aware of the PURITO - Centella Green Level Unscented Sun SPF50+controversy BUT I work from home and often don’t run errands until the evening when the sun has already set so I don’t mind continuing to use the product as a moisturizer and for light protection from the minimal rays that come in through my windows. When I do go out during the day, I layer with a second sunscreen. I really love the Krave - Matcha Hemp Hydrating Cleanser but have been feeling slightly stripped lately after using it and since I was already running out of the Krave, I figured I’d try something new. I purchased the FIRST AID BEAUTY - Pure Skin Face Cleanser on somewhat of a whim at Sephora the other day. I have noticed that the creamier texture of the FAB cleanser works very well for my skin (at least during the winter months when I get incredibly dry) but kind of feel like the pearlescent look of it is a little gimmicky. I will likely alternate between the 2 cleansers depending on the time of year and how my skin is feeling. I alternate actives every night. My skin is extremely reactive and prone to irritation so I have to take things very slowly when introducing a new active to my routine. For now, I use the CeraVe - Resurfacing Retinol Serum on night 1, the By Wishtrend - Mandelic Acid 5% Skin Prep Water on night 2, the DIFFERIN - 0.1% Adapalene Acne Treatment Gel Pump on night 3 and no active on night 4 before restarting the routine. I find that the night off really gives my skin a break. I’ve been using Differin for a while but have been a little disappointed in it lately so thought that it might be time to introduce a different retinol product and LOVE the CeraVe - Resurfacing Retinol Serum so far. I started with once a week and did notice a little irritation the first few times I used it but that was expected. I think every 4th night is a good place that I can build on if I continue to see better results. I want to incorporate The Inkey List’s Q-10 serum because I have used it in the past and really liked it. I’m not sure where I could include it for the best results and least irritation. I really want to keep at least one night a week where I only use FIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair Wild Oat Hydrating Toner and Aveeno - Calm + Restore Oat Gel Moisturizer after cleansing but am hesitant to layer products. Any suggestions? THIS MOISTURIZER!!! I was skeptical when I first saw this new line from Aveeno because I sometimes find that their products don’t perform as well as I expect. Their lotions often feel like they just sit on top of my skin instead of soaking in but Dr. Dray convinced me and I will be sticking with this one!

CeraVe Retinol Day 65
CeraVe - Resurfacing Retinol Serum - still following the “sandwich” method, using the retinol every other day, and I am still using all of the same products (no new products) check out my other posts for more - 3 months in and I think the purging stage is finally coming to an end - this has helped my acne go away faster if I get a new spot - usually spots take a few weeks to go away but now it’s within a few day so that’s great! - don’t know about my hyperpigmentation if those are getting that much better, might be bc I have been dealing with it for so long so it will take longer to have an effect - not going to lie if I wasn’t doing these update posts I would have probably given up on the product by now but the photo do show some changes that I hadn’t noticed before - I’m thinking of adding Vitamin C or something that’s meant for brightening and hyperpigmentation bc the retinol might not be enough to help with that issue - also looking into some exfoliates (chemical and physical) bc I haven’t been using any other actives except the retinol and I think my skin is ready for a new step for my routine

Salicylic Acid in My Routine
Ok so I already made a post about my thoughts on this mask The Ordinary - Salicylic Acid 2% Masque and I’ll admit I was a little harsh on it- but it’s because this mask is MESSY and I’m all about convenience and being able to quickly apply a product and not have to think about the details, is what makes me happy. However, a got a comment on that previous post (@MartaPol) and it was recommended that I apply this before I get in the shower and then rinse it off in there. I gave it a try and the mess issue is completely resolved this way! It’s still a little too much thought for a face mask for me personally , and I’m not usually a nighttime shower taker, but I will definitely be using the mask like this until I use it up! I’ll also note that this mask does make my face baby soft!! I always follow with a heavy duty moisturizer- my favorite for calming irritation is LA ROCHE-POSAY - Cicaplast Baume B5 for Dry Skin Irritations

My Thoughts On Recent Skincare Purchases
During the last 10 months, I’ve been experimenting with my skincare. I have the freedom of not caring about potential breakouts since I cover my face with a mask and I rarely leave my house, so I’m not afraid to try new products in my routine 😅 One of the skincare products I purchased much more of during this time, we’re face masks. I found myself doing self care so much it’s basically a hobby now, so face masks were the one product I was trying out a lot! I gave the The Ordinary - Salicylic Acid 2% Masque a try and here are my thoughts summed up: Pros: my face felt softer after use and not tight or dry feeling at all (I have normal/oily skin) very mild smell skin looked more fresh after use (that new skin cell look👀) my favorite way to use this is to follow it up with the The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 and a thick night time moisturizer Cons there’s literally NO clean/easy way to use this product - ( you’re going to ruin your shirt so put a crusty old one on before you use this ) Honestly the messiness of this product is the only reason I wouldn’t repurchase this, which is a bummer because I really do like the product and ingredients, but just not worth ruining my bright white washcloths!!

A decade of struggle
A decade of struggle
I have struggled with my acne for a decade now and have have been up and down the rollercoaster of good and bad skin. I never was able to find something to keep the acne away. I tried every product, every wash, every zit cream, and medication; to no avail. Today I woke up with out a single pimple and that hasn’t happened in years! I know my skin still has a long way to go but I am so happy with where it is today. The bottom pictures are my face this morning with no filtering or facetune and I am thrilled! I think I am finally on the road to figuring out what is right for my face! I just wanted to share in my happiness today and document it, in case it doesn’t last 😂 These are some of the products I use but everyone’s face is different so it may not work for everyone! Also I don’t use all these products everyday so read directions and be careful! CeraVe - Hydrating Face Cleanser For Normal To Dry Skin Mentioned in my previous post: my holy grail for facial cleansers! Neutrogena - Hydro Boost Hydrating Cleansing Gel I used the Neutrogena hydro boost cleansing gel as a double cleanser courteous to my Cerave hydrating cleanser. The main reason I double cleanse is to use the first cleanser (hydro boost) to take off an remaining makeup, diet, oil and toxins from the air before doing a deep cleanser (Cerave). I recommend double cleansing because it personally has helped my skin become cleaner and clearer! you can double cleanse with the same cleanser or you can use two different ones! The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution The Ordinary Glycolic Acid 7% toning solution is an exfoliating toner to help with textured skin. Since it’s a exfoliating toner, it’s recommended to be used every other night (preferable). This is my favorite toner I have used so far! Personally, the exfoliating portion of it has helped my skin become smoother and dewy. I use this product about every other night. The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution This chemical peel has been my favorite exfoliating product so far. This easy-at-home 10 mins peeling solution has improved my textured skin and reduced the appearance of my acne scarring! I would recommend if you have highly sensitive skin to do a patch test first, because after all it is a chemical peel. It does tingle and have a bit of burning sensation when first applied, but goes away within a couple minutes of use (that means it’s working ;)) The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% my holy grail serum for my skin care routine. I have been using this since day one of starting my skincare routine and it’s been amazing! I get a hint of red after using my skin care products and thus has helped reduce the redness my face produces after my routine! this serum is also wonderful to help the appearance of your pores look smaller and helps with uneven skin tone! 100/10 recommend this product to be in your skincare routine! Clean&Clear - Advantage Acne Spot Treatment I’m not a fan of Clean and Clear products, but after discovering this spot treatment, they have gained a little respect from me. I struggle with those are to get rid of cystic pimples and have never found a treatment strong enough to make them disappear until I started using this product. This product made my monster of a pimple completely disappear after one use! I continue to use it on others and it has made them disappear within a short amount of time too! CeraVe - Daily Moisturizing Lotion For Normal To Dry Skin mentioned in my previous post!

My new skincare routine
My new skincare routine
Let’s start with what I’ve been using the longest: CeraVe - Renewing SA Cleanser For Normal Skin I LOVE this cleanser. I have acne prone skin and congested pores like crazy. I started using this a week ago and I’ve noticed a huge difference with my skin feeling way cleaner and it never feels tight after I wash it. The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 For someone who has combination skin, this is a life saver. It hydrates my dry spots but doesn’t make my t-zone super oily! And it keeps me feeling hydrated all day. The Ordinary - Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA I tried this because I’ve always used a traditional moisturizer and the thought of only using serums was weird to me. I will stick with it because it makes me feel like I’ve locked everything else in! A little goes a very long way! And my favorite face sunscreen.... alba BOTANICA - Hydration Sensation Water Gel SPF 18 for sunny south Florida and it doesn’t feel thick and gross. And even better, doesn’t clog my pores. Also works great under makeup. I have skipped a primer on some days and just let this be my base 🤷🏼‍♀️ Now for my newbies... The Ordinary - Granactive Retinoid 2% in Squalane didn’t burn, loved the way my face felt after using it! We shall see in the long run. It’s not my first rodeo with Retinoids but this one is new The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% I’ve used it twice so far, and the first time i felt a tiny bit of tingling but it was extremely short lived. It does have a sticky-ness to it so I suggest putting it under something else (obviously it would have to go under my Retinoid). I put it under my The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 and it seemed okay but I didn’t put makeup on today. The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution I tried this baby last night for the first time! 10 minutes, just as directed. A bit of initial tingling. But after? My face felt as smooth as ever!!! I loved it! I followed it with my The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% and The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 andThe Ordinary - Granactive Retinoid 2% in Squalane (since I’m not new to retinoids). Face didn’t feel sensitive this morning. I have not tried the The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution since I didn’t want to mix it with the The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution but I will probably end up using the peel on Monday’s and the toner on Wednesday’s and Fridays. I don’t want to strip my skin. Oh and some days I used a Thayer’s Witch Hazel Toner, just depends on how my face feels. But I haven’t felt the need to since I started using the CeraVe - Renewing SA Cleanser For Normal Skin Any thoughts?! 🥰

MORNING ROUTINE ☀️ PCA skin - BPO 5% Cleanser The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% CeraVe - Ultra-Light Moisturizing Lotion SPF 30 For Normal To Oily Skin NIGHT ROUTINE 🌙 PCA skin - BPO 5% Cleanser The Ordinary - Ascorbic Acid 8% + Alpha Arbutin 2% The Ordinary - 100% Plant-Derived Squalane BURT’S BEES - Lip Balm with Vitamin E & Peppermint WEEKLY MASK The Ordinary - Salicylic Acid 2% Masque I have been using PCA skin - BPO 5% Cleanser for over a year and have been absolutely loving it for keeping my skin clear. I recently added The Ordinary’s products into my routine as well as a daily spf and my skin has truly never looked better. If you suffer from acne, dark spots and dull skin- I highly suggest this routine ❤️ ** Also, when using Vitamin C (such as The Ordinary - Ascorbic Acid 8% + Alpha Arbutin 2% ) I chose to moisturize with the Squalane because any water in products will neutralize the Vitamin C and stop it from working on your skin, so always make sure to use a moisturizer/ oil / serum with no form of water on the ingredient list while using a vitamin C product! :)

Help!!

Ok so i need help making a skin care routine here’s the tea sorry it’s so long to read. I used to only wash my face with a spectro gel cleanser and use a cetaphil moisturizer every day and call it a day and my skin is starting to get bad again. I used to have really bad skin and tons of acne but it cleared up with birth control and age i guess. I still have some pretty big pores and dark spots and dark under eyes and i recently ordered a whole cetaphil skin care routine. It seems to be making my skin worse making little bumps on my forehead. I’m using the cetaphil foaming face wash, cetaphil daily scrub, followed by elf super toner, then cetaphil night cream in the pm and the cetaphil daily moisturizer with 15 spf and cetaphil eye cream. I also ordered the ordinary serums, i ordered the niacinamide 10% +1% zinc and the alpha arbutin 2% + HA which haven’t arrived yet. Please help me build a good skincare routine, i don’t mind spending money on better products but i don’t want to buy things that don’t work. My skin is combination. Any suggestions on products that would work, and what cetaphil product is giving me bumps on my forehead? all the products except the spf i can’t find: The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%The Ordinary - Alpha Arbutin 2% + HACetaphil - Hydrating Eye Gel-CreamCetaphil - Cetaphil Gentle Foaming CleanserCetaphil - Cetaphil Facial Night CreamCetaphil - Extra Gentle Daily Scrube.l.f. - Supertone Toner

Blemishes + Dry Skin
Blemishes + Dry Skin
Hi! My main concerns are blemishes and dark spots, I have very dry skin so my breakouts are worse in the winter. I have large pores and I usually get pimples on my cheeks and forehead. I noticed that my forehead is also drier and my chin is darker than the rest of my face. Right now, my skincare routine only consists of cleanser, moisturizer, and micellar water. I only wash my face once a day (at night) since it gets flaky when I wash it twice, I use the Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser which is effective for my skin. In the morning, I only use the Garnier Rose Micellar Water. I am looking for an alternative to my Pond’s dry skin cream since it’s oily and clogs my face. I am also thinking of trying The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc and The Ordinary Squalane Oil. Any thoughts? Thanks!!
