My Skin Saviours for Changing Seasons

avatar
Blixa
The season change is a fussy thing to deal with: your skin will be sensitive, or maybe dull and dehydrated. Dead skin could make it worse if you don't dare to use scrub or acid products. I have got combo/oily skin, and when it comes to the end of winter and summer, my face becomes easily irritated with flushing and tingling feeling. I did some research online and discovered these products suitable for the crazy seasonal change. Avène - Thermal Spring Water Spray After cleansing, I use this spray for instant hydration. I towel dry my face and spray this mist evenly on my face and neck. The mist is soothing, and it has no fragrance or additives, just thermal spring water. I leave it on my face for a minute and wipe it away, and this prepares for my next step.  NIOD - Modulating Glucosides I like this product pretty much for its powerful calming effect on redness and uncomfy feelings. This emulsion contains glucosides, peptides, and plant extracts to minimize skin sensitivity in all situations. It has a yellowish color and is easy to smooth on the skin, but the smell is a bit strange though I don't hate. Large squalene provides a layer of protection and moisturization; it feels a bit oily but absorbs quickly and doesn't cause acne as well. I love this, and this is my second bottle so far. BOBBI BROWN - Vitamin Enriched Face Base Priming Moisturizer After the emulsion, I put this face balm on to provide total hydration. When my face is healthy enough to put on foundation, I use it as a moisturizing primer. The shea butter in it can nourish the skin without any irritation while the vitamin c and vitamin e as antioxidants give skin a strong shield to environmental stress. It smells like fresh citrus, really refreshing and pleasant. A little goes a long way; I put a pea size of it on my finger and gently slide on my face to finish this routine—also, another non-comedogenic product I like. Going to say that it is super annoying to stop everything else from fighting sensitivity or other unexpected guests, but with enough preparation, this won't be a big issue anymore.

Combo/Oily Morning Routine and Flash Review
Hi, everyone! I hope your weekend was well :) After doing a quick water cleanse, I went in with hyper - Hyper Clear Brightening Clearing Vitamin C Serum which my skin has been loving! I haven’t had any irritation or breakout, plus I think this helps keep congestion at bay with the added kojic acid and enzymes. It’s super light and anyone with oilier skin will love! EDIBLE BEAUTY - Turmeric Beauty Latte Serum Clear and Brighten this is a new find that I just started using, so haven’t quite formed an opinion yet. It’s supposed to act as a non-active clarifying serum, which is exactly something I need, especially during the day. It’s has a light, watery texture, def smells a bit like turmeric, but so far it’s great! NIOD - Modulating Glucosides this is my new love! After going through a bout of sensitive and red skin once the weather started changing, once I included this into my routine (mostly apply to my cheeks and forehead), I’ve noticed my skin is significant calmer. It’s also great as a light moisturizer for oily skin in the morning! KEEP COOL - Soothe Bamboo Sun Essence SPF50+ another new LOVE! Might be my holy grail sunscreen, seriously. The only way to describe it is if Purito Comfy Water and Purito Centella had a baby, meaning it should work beautifully for both drier and oilier skin types. It leaves a satin finish, no greasiness throughout the day and is super pleasant to reapply!

The Ordinary and NIOD: Worth the hype?🤔
We all concern one problem when choosing skincare or cosmetic products: is this famous product really worthy to buy? Sometimes there are many advertising invested from beauty company so that we can see their products on TV, or newspaper or even YouTube. But for brands like The Ordinary and Neutrogena, we still know there are a lot of ‘soft’ ads on the Internet. Are they really worthy to buy?   The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 This is definitely the most famous product it has created. Now every brand has its own hyaluronic acid serum and this is one of the cheapest and works for so many people. It contains hyaluronic acid to make skin smooth and supple and Vitamin B5 to boost skin renewal and healing. For a water-based serum, this one is light and thick and doesn’t have a strange smell at all. I have tried this for a week and, to be honest,  I abandoned it right after this torturing week. My face says no to it; it feels nice on hand but not on the face. It dries quickly on my face and my T-zone becomes more oily than ever. This is not my cup of tea and I have to say that it is really cheap without any fancy promotion, ask for a sample before purchasing it.    NIOD - Modulating Glucosides I went online and bought this emulsion from NIOD’s core regimen series. NIOD and The Ordinary are from the same company and this one is definitely more pricy than most products from The Ordinary. This is an emulsion that can soothe sensitive and flakier skin caused by retinol and calm down the skin with redness. It is said that it can boost the production of collagen and new blood vessels to make skin look younger and more even. It went viral for a while online and I have to say that it needs to be famous that much. My face is no itchier after using retinol and my acne scars got lighter. It was on discount when I bought it and 20 dollars is way too good for this amazing product. Really recommend this one. 👍

Before and After HALLOWEEN Skincare Tips 🎃💀👻
I love Halloween with the costumes, the treats, and scary movies. What's not to love. Sometimes we can get so wrapped up in the fun we can forget about our activities of daily living. So I just wanted to give you guys some tips on how to get through today!!! Before putting on your Halloween makeup remember to exfoliate, hydrate and prime your skin. Healthy nourished skin is the best base for any makeup routine. You can exfoliate and hydrate with one of my favorite masks dear, klairs - Youthful Glow Sugar Mask if you want a hydrating primer my go to is BOBBI BROWN - Vitamin Enriched Face Base Priming Moisturizer After dancing the night away in layers of makeup or walking the neighborhood with a scary mask on your face you will need to double cleanse. The best way to break down that makeup and dirt is with an oil cleanser. My favorites are BANILA CO - Clean It Zero Cleansing Balm Nourishing and I just tried FARMACY - Green Clean Makeup Meltaway Cleansing Balm omg this stuff really breaks down makeup. Then follow up with a gel cleanser to really get in your pores and get the dirt out. I personally like NATURIUM - Mixed Greens Nutrient-Rich Cleanser they are launching a Niacinamide gel cleanser Nov 1 I'm excited to try it. After cleansing you can rehydrate your skin with a nourishing mask like I'm from - Honey Mask or TONYMOLY - I'm Real Aloe Mask Sheet both masks keep my skin plump and hydrated. Throw in a hydrating essence NATURIUM - Hyaluronic Acid Essence 2% or hydrating toner like I'm from - Rice Toner Skip the actives and finish with a hydrating moisturizer like FARMACY - Honey Halo Ultra-hydrating Ceramide Moisturizer Don't forget to hydrate. Water helps flush out those toxins, the candy and/or the alcohol. 😜 Water will help give your skin that healthy glow!!! If the makeup has left your skin irritated you can try adding some serums like Krave - Great Barrier Relief or epicuren DISCOVERY - Aloe Vera Calming Gel to your routine both calm irritated skin. The Krave serum will help soothe your skin while repairing your skins barrier. The Epicuren gel has green tea and camomile which a great anti inflammatory agents. What are your Halloween plans?? Are you still dressing up are you still participating in Halloween activities?? Hope these tips help!!!

Jeffree Star Concealer? It’s a no from me!
It’s no secret that Jeffree Star has made some amazing cosmetics such as lipsticks or highlighters. I finally made the decision to try out his concealer which I have heard good things about - but I regret it. Application? I applied this concealer on top of BOBBI BROWN - Vitamin Enriched Face Base Priming Moisturizer which has been my go to for a short time now but I find it works well with majority of my products! Unfortunately, as I applied with my beauty blender, it immediately dried severely into my under eye lines and emphasised them in a way I have never seen before. It also made foundation patch away and just didn’t sit right on my skin. It looked I had worn the makeup for days. Longevity? Due to the dryness of my concealer, it did last quite long, I think I wore it for about 6-7 hours and it looked the same as I first applied it which is a plus but it unfortunately looked so dry and cracked underneath. Coverage? For me, one layer was not enough to disguise my under eyes, I had to use two layers which meant double the dryness. I don’t mind using two layers as I typically do with my other concealers. It did give quite a good coverage but this was just so dry. I even added rosehip oil to see if it would make a difference and it was still so dry! Shades? Something I do really like about the JSC concealer is that it does come in 31 shades! Meaning most likely, no matter your skin colour you should be able to find a compatible shade! I really love this as everyone should be able to have their own shade of concealer. Final thoughts? This is just not my favourite concealer as it’s so drying! It’s not the worst ever but there’s so many other options including hydrating concealers that work best for me. I love the shade range and long wearing of the concealer but there’s just so many downfalls such as the dryness and patchiness. Thank you so much for reading and I hope this review helps you! Please leave any Q’s if you’d like☺️ I also now have an Instagram where I will be posting skincare, makeup, fitness, wellness and travel content if you’d like to check it out! @Jesssiemadison

Daily routine for sensitive oily skin in summer
Daily routine for sensitive oily skin in summer
In summer, my skin is normal to oily with a bit of breakouts all on my cheeks which are a mix of hormonal and I guess bacterial breakouts (if that’s what you call it?). I’ve been using these two products for over 2 months now and I’ve noticed significant reduction in my pores and acne, and inflammation/redness. I also always find when I wake up that my skin is very well hydrated without it feeling greasy. 1. fresh Louth Youth Preserve face cream with super 7 complex Love this moisturizer. I first got it years ago from Sephora as a small free gift. It is very light and has the most pleasant and soothing smell. Smells like light cucumber fresh out of the spa! It does not irritate me at all around the eye area, like other moisturizers can. It keeps my skin feeling soft and healthy. I would totally recommend trying this! This high-potency face cream delivers unstoppable moisture for soft, supple skin with a lightweight texture and spa-like scent. Powered by antioxidant lotus root extract and vitamin E in fresh’s super 7 complex, it fights the first signs of aging and creates a perfectly smooth canvas for makeup. 2. The Ordinary 100% organic cold-pressed rose hip seed oil This formulation uses 100 percent pure rosehip seed oil— rich in linoleic acid, linolenic acid, and pro-vitamin A—that is both cold-pressed and organic. This oil has been shown to reduce signs of photo-aging and many other skin conditions. This product is vegan, cruelty-free, cold-pressed, organic, and formulated without water, alcohol, silicone, nuts, and gluten. Rose Hip Seed Oil is completely unrefined and imparts a natural scent partly due to its high omega fatty acid content. This scent is not an indication of rancidity. Rose Hip Seed Oil that does not have a scent is refined and offers reduced benefits. It comes in UV-protective packaging.

Moisturization secret for dry&sensitive skin
Moisturization secret for dry&sensitive skin
I thought I was good at making choices, but when it came to picking up appropriate products for my dry and sensitive skin (24), I got lost being overwhelmed by numerous products in the market. I once got advertised by SAs, friends, advertisements, TV commercials, etc., and bought plenty of products. After lots of trials over my skin, I finally found this routine below safe, secure, and effectively nourishing, which is what I am going to elaborate on. FILORGA - NCTF-Essence Supreme Regenerating Lotion Essence This lotion is good at moisturizing, for it contains the ingredient hyaluronic acid. It is under the famous series of Filorga and uses water sensors, AQUA-MX technology. I usually apply it after cleanser. The texture is lightweight, and it does not feel oily at all (on this point it prevails as 5% of all the lotions that I have used, especially much better than Lancome Tonique Confort) I guess this is why my face hardly gets irritated since I quit other and changed into this one.   Elizabeth Arden - Ceramide Capsules Advanced Each bottle contains 90 capsules, and they should be used within a day, better instantly after opening one. It is not lightweight, but I can accept it as it actively strengthens my skin’s moisture barrier. It is biodegradable, fragrance, and preservative-free, which dramatically reduces the chances of getting allergic or being troubled by eczema, acne, or other problems for my sensitive skin. I recommend to use it at night before sleep, and it will reveal a look full of radiance the other day.   la prairie - Skin Caviar Luxe Cream It is of high price comparatively, but it is worth every penny you pay. I was advertised aggressively by one of my friends who shares the same skin type. I try this for two years, and it gives my face a silky look. It is instrumental in eliminating the feeling of tightness on my face. I love this, and these two years, my face gets more and more radiance.   This combination of products has been used for six months. All are nourishing and moisturizing enough for dry skin without triggering any skin problems. Recommend them to you, but make sure you try samples before buying them.

wrinkles go away

I’m always one to be open to trying new products to see how they can benefit my skin. If it doesn’t work, I simply move onto the next product. If I ever come across something that works extremely well, I’ll add it to my list of must haves and will usually not steer away from that product unless I happen to stumble across a better working product. ESTĒE LAUDER - Advanced Night Repair Limited Edition ESTĒE LAUDER - Revitalizing Supreme Global Anti-Aging Crème For my skin care routine to keep my skin hydrated, I’ve consistently been using Estee Lauder’s Advanced Night repair and their Revitalizing Supreme+. These two have worked great in keeping my skin hydrated which helps keep my dry skin away and whenever my skin is more hydrated, I look younger. These two also have great anti-aging affects on your skin, and you can really see the difference after a few applications. Your lines and wrinkles start to disappear after a few application, that along with the more hydrated skin really makes your skin feel amazing. The Revitalizing Supreme+ creme is non-acnegenic, so it doesn’t clog my pores and helps me reduce my acne. This works great with the advanced night repair because that serum is oil free. I’ve always had acne prone skin, so using these two has helped my acne and even helped reduce breakouts. I highly recommend these two products if you have acne prone skin, dry skin, or have dehydration. These two products go hand in hand and will work wonders for anyone with similar skin issues as me. Results may not show right away, but constant application will show great results!

Expensive=Effective⁉ For The 2 Retinol Serums, My Answer Is...
Expensive=Effective⁉ For The 2 Retinol Serums, My Answer Is...
I have combo-oily skin. Anti-aging and reducing acne are two of my biggest focuses for skincare. After doing some research, Retinol is exactly what I am looking for! It can reach the inner skin layer to fight with acne and it is a powerful anti-aging ingredient.  I first tried CeraVe - Skin Renewing Retinol Cream Serum Because it's famous for having great effects at an affordable price-$18.49 for 30ml. Sounds great right? However, I don't like how it feels on my face. It is very greasy, and it cases pilling on my face. At the same time, my acne did not get any better. Although it is not expensive, it is very disappointing. So I later bought CHANTECAILLE - Retinol Intense+. This is definitely more expensive-$140.00 for 50ml. But!!!! It works surprisingly well! My acnes got controlled soon. And I can see that my skin has changed not just on the surface, but deeper in the root. It is not that irritating as Cereva. It feels so amazing! I noticed that it also added niacinamide and plant extract into the product. But Retinol is different from hydrating serum, Retinol hurts! So you have to make sure you are doing the basic hydration correctly to protect your skin. After using Chantecaille for a couple of weeks, I can see the changes on my face. My acne scars got reduced, and the pimples got flatten. My face looks cleaner than it used to be. I used to put a lot of concealers and use think foundations. Now I can use lighter ones! I am so happy to see this change. Chantecaille makes my skin smooth, and it can help anti-aging. I can't tell you how much I like it!

Hi guys👋🏻⁣ ⁣ Today, i’d like to share my current top three moisturizer favorites. ⁣ I still have plenty that I love, these are just ones I have been using religiously from the past months. ⁣ ⁣ These products are great for oily, rosacea and acne-prone skin🥰 ⁣ ⁣ 1. THE inkey LIST - Snow Mushroom Hydrating Gel Moisturizer (my second tube)⁣ ⁣ This moisturizer is formulated with 0.3% Tremella Fuciformis (snow mushroom). It aims to soothe, calm, and reduce the appearance of redness while providing an instant cooling effect. ⁣ The plant extract is a rich source of polysaccharides and is known to have the ability to help hydrate the skin by binding moisture to the surface. The consistency of the Snow Mushroom moisturizer is very jelly-like. It looks thick but actually is very lightweight once absorbed by skin. Although it feels sticky to the touch, it works well when applied and doesn’t leave a sticky residue. ⁣ I used to be obsessed with products which give you cooling effect but since most of my faves contain alcohol and fragrance, I had to stop using them -- the Inkey List Snow Mushroom is a very unique find for me and that’s why I love it so much! ⁣ This would also be a worthy product for your summer skincare routine!⁣ ⁣ 2. PROcure - Rosacare Gel (second bottle almost out!)⁣ My skin absolutely loves this gel cream. I did write a review on this before, in which I rated it four out five stars, but let me say now -- it has become one of the best moisturizers I’ve ever used! When I started using retinoid, this cream (and TO niacinamide) has helped my skin so much in coping with the mild irritation but also helped control my redness and flushing. I also used to work as a cook, I would always go home with an extremely red itchy face which further triggered my acne flare ups. This has always done a great job in calming as well as keeping my skin overall balanced. This is very lightweight, non-irritating and has a slight green color to it that helps even out skin tone (but does not completely cover). ⁣ I would say this works better than any other product of its kind. If you have rosacea or is prone to flushing — consider trying this one. I will definitely keep repurchasing it. ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ 3. Neutrogena - Hydro Boost Gel-Cream (just finished, third bottle on the way🤗)⁣ Seriously, who hasn’t used this one yet? This moisturizer does not disappoint. ⁣ This hydrates skin without making it oily and leaves it feeling smooth and soft. Although it glides on like silk when first applied (at least on my oily skin), this does not feel heavy or clogging at all. It also works really well for daytime and nighttime use, even under makeup. Have never experienced skin irritations or breakouts since using this product. If you’re someone who doesn’t mind a dimethicone based moisturizer, this is must-try!

🌙PM Skincare Routine: Cleanser - La Roche-Posay TOLERIANE Softening Foaming Gel : It's very mild and gentle, so it's suitable for sensitive skin. However, it smells pretty unpleasant. Makeup Remover - La Roche-Posay Effaclar Micellar Water Ultra: It's a very mild makeup remover with a very refreshing smell. Toner - La Roche-Posay Hydrophase Cosmetic Water: It's suitable for combination to oily skin. It's very refreshing and is absorbed very quickly. Serum - Clé de Peau Beauté Essential Refining Essenceclé de peau BEAUTÉ - Essential Refining Essence: The enlarged pores on my T-zone improved after using this and I didn't suffer from any irritation which is good. Facial Cream - La Roche-Posay Toleriane Ultra Overnight CareLA ROCHE-POSAY - Toleriane Ultra Night Cream for Sensitive Skin: This product is moisturizing and maintains the balance of my skin, but it's clearly not moisturizing enough for those with dry skin. 🌞AM Skincare Routine: Cleanser and Toner - Same As Above Lotion - La Roche-Posay Toleriane Fluide: It's absorbed quickly, and stabilizes and moisturizes skin. Outdoor Sunscreen - La Roche-Posay Uvidea XL Melt-in Tinted Cream : This is a sunscreen with a touch-up effect. It just about covers my skin dullness, so I can go out without wearing a liquid foundation. Daily Sunscreen - Decorte SUN SHELTER Multi Protection: It feels like a lotion when applied, spreads easily and is not greasy at all.
