Doing Makeup with a Hand Disability.
My mother always taught me that if you can't do something one way then do it another way but don't give up. I've maintained that way of thinking all of my life. Never give up do it differently. I used to always watch my mother put makeup on and I used to try to copy how she did what she did. so most of my life I've been mefiocre with my makeup. it wasn't up until a couple of years ago. I was trying to join groups in hopes I could pickup the techniques of these talented MUA's. I wanted to be able to do what they were able to do. but I had a problem. my hands would cramp up. it was so painful to hold the brushes. then I developed trigger finger. lupus was attacking my tendons in my hands. so I had to gave surgery to fix then tighter. basically my tendons were slipping off my knuckles. so I started to do my makeup with my fingers because couldn't hold the brushes. at first it was very difficult to get the beautiful looks that the women in the groups were doing so I left and created my own makeup group. Bold Makeup Faces & Galore, a teaching group focused on helping people get better doing their makeup differently with their disabilities. I have people doing tutorials, informational posts, instructional posts, funny posts, and days where they can post whatever they're selling. Having 9 autoimmune diseases makes managing and running a group a bit stressful. Especially when others don't see your vision. But I have a small group where I try to keep everyone informed and up to date. Bold Makeup Faces & Galore is my dream to help people with disabilities to to be able to come out of their comfort zone and to be able to put their best face forward confidently. Everyday is a good day for makeup but most importantly you have to pamper your skin. Good skin is better than the best filter. We endeavor to instill good skin and makeup practices and techniques at Bold Makeup Faces & Galore, we love makeup.
Steel Donkey - Barbados 🇧🇧 The Steel Donkey is essentially the Barbadian version of the 🇯🇲 Jamaican Rolling Calf. This ‘creature’ emerged sometime in the early 20th century, out of the superstition of ‘cursing’; that is, the belief that persons could put curses on others. In appearance, the steel donkey has features of an animal (more specifically, a donkey) with eyes like fire (and apparently he was fire breathing as well according to some reports) 🔥 And the some report hearing a very distinct dragging of chains. ⛓⛓

*Series Finale* Soucouyant - Dominica 🇩🇲 , St. Lucia 🇱🇨, Trinidad 🇹🇹 , Guadeloupe 🇬🇵 also known as Loogaroo or Lougarou in Haiti 🇭🇹 Louisiana 🇺🇸 Grenada 🇬🇩 and elsewhere in the Caribbean or Ole-Higue (also Ole Haig) in Guyana 🇬🇾 and Jamaica 🇯🇲 or Asema in Suriname 🇸🇷 in The Bahamas 🇧🇸 it is known as Hag. Whew😥 ! She appears as a reclusive old woman by day. By night, she strips off her wrinkled skin and puts it in a mortar. In her true form, as a fireball she flies across the dark sky in search of a victim. The soucouyant can enter the home of her victim through any sized hole like cracks, crevices and keyholes. Soucouyants suck people's blood from their arms, legs and soft parts while they sleep leaving blue-black marks on the body in the morning. If the soucouyant draws too much blood, it is believed that the victim will either die and become a soucouyant or perish entirely, leaving her killer to assume her skin. And that’s all folks! The photo was too big hence this border around it but I think it’s pretty cool. Hope you guys liked this series! Feel free to keep sending me other folklore characters I can throw em in for Halloween 🎃
shape of a spider
Anansi : Ghana 🇬🇭,Caribbean, Diaspora *Collaboration with mayedpd Swipe for Anansi at a Jouvert 😭 He often takes the shape of a spider and is sometimes considered to be a god of all knowledge of stories. Taking the role of trickster, he is also one of the most important characters of West African, African American and Caribbean folklore. While often-depicted as an animal, Anansi has many representations, not only acting as a man but appearing as one. In others, Anansi is an anthropomorphized spider with a human face, or conversely, a human with spider-like features, such as eight legs.
