So, we’re all back in the 90s as far as fashion trends are concerned. Thankfully, we’re keeping this decade’s eyebrows! I decided to try out two 90s inspired makeup looks with different shades of blue from the MORPHE - The James Charles Palette . My light look was created using the shade “Hello” all over the lid and crease, and running a bit of “Playgroung” on my lower lash line, and onto the outer half of my upper lash line. This added a little definition and brightness to the pale blue base. The light shimmery blue all over the eye and crease felt super retro and fun! ❄️🧚🏻👗 My dark look was created using the shade "Brother" all over the lid and blended into the crease, and "A capella" tapped onto the centre of the eyelid. This rich, dark version of the 90s blue eyeshadow trend felt much more modern and striking. 🧵🌊🌏 These looks are great for brown eyes - as you can see - but there are really no rules! You could achieve a toned down version of this look by lining your eyes with blue shades and adding lashings of mascara! Or pairing a navy blue or turquoise waterline with a bronze or copper upper lid! Don't be afraid of the blue! 2020 is the time to realise your colourful makeup dreams. Complexion Details 👸🏻 If you were interested in my complexion products, I used the ESTĒE LAUDER - Double Wear Stay-in-Place Foundation in the shade 1C0 Shell, the REVOLUTION - Conceal & Define Full Coverage Concealer in the shade C1, the Revlon Sculpt + Highlight Contour Kit in Light/Medium, and a touch of Juvia's PLACE - The Saharan Blush Palette shade Yara to warm up the apples of my cheeks slightly. Lip Details 💄💋 I did a DIY lip colour to get the 90s nude look. I put some L.A. Girl - L.A. Girl Luxury Creme Lipstick in the shade Teddy around the edges of my lips, and patted some Covergirl Colorliscious Lipstick in the shade 230 in the centre (I think this line is discontinued!) Skin Details: I have fairly dry and fairly sensitive skin. I am very fair, too. I live in Brisbane, so the weather is getting more humid by the day, and is generally very sunny.

Wearing a mask is an easy thing you can do every day to be a more responsible member of your community. however, a mask can do a number on your makeup, especially if you are wearing one for several hours a day. To give your makeup the best chance, try some of these tips from YouTube beauty guru Jackie Aina. Not only does Jackie have arguably the best personality on the platform, but she knows a thing or two about long-wearing, matte makeup. In her recent video, she shows us how to do makeup that outlasts a mask, so we can be responsible and snatched. 1️⃣ Use a primer before your complexion routine. This improves texture, longevity and overall look. 2️⃣ Tap a light layer of translucent powder over your primed face BEFORE using complexion products. It may seem strange, but Jackie swears by this technique and says it makes her foundation last way longer. 3️⃣ Forego dewy products for matte products where possible. Matte foundations have a longer wear time whilst dewy products tend to slip around more. 4️⃣ Use a high coverage long-wearing concealer under your eyes, and set this well with loose powder. Most masks settle close to the undereyes, so setting this area will reduce the negative effects of friction from your mask. 5️⃣ Use a little bit more of your complexion products than usual. If your mask is going to rub off a bit of your makeup, you want to make sure you’ve laid down a complete base, so that your face isn’t ‘naked’ after a couple of hours. 6️⃣ Jackie pumps some foundation onto the back of her hand, picks some up with a brush and sprays some Ben Nye “Final Seal” onto the brush. Final Seal is used to seal in a smudge- and water-resistant makeup look, like a setting spray. Mixing it into your foundation will incorporate the sweat-resistant properties into the application. 7️⃣ Remember to set along your chin area, perhaps more so than usual, as this area will take a beating from a mask as well. 8️⃣ You can make your eyes pop with a strong mascara application or a set of false lashes, to draw attention to your eyes and keep you looking glamorous while wearing a mask. 9️⃣ As above, stick to matte, powder formulas for blush and highlighter as these are less likely to slip around and can be sealed in with a setting spray. 🔟 Swap your lipgloss for a lipstick or lip stain - you don’t want to leave sticky globs of gloss on the inside of your mask and risk getting some on your matte and snatched complexion work. Added tip: lip liner increases the longevity of just about any lip product! *️⃣ Douse yourself in setting spray and fan yourself dry to seal your makeup in and give it the best chance at surviving your busy day! If you prefer a dewy makeup look, try incorporating your dew here at the end with a dewy-finish or slightly shimmery setting spray. That way, you get to achieve some shine without compromising your makeup
