90s Makeup Trend: Blue Eyes and Nude Lips

avatar
BecomingKyra
So, we’re all back in the 90s as far as fashion trends are concerned. Thankfully, we’re keeping this decade’s eyebrows! I decided to try out two 90s inspired makeup looks with different shades of blue from the MORPHE - The James Charles Palette
. My light look was created using the shade “Hello” all over the lid and crease, and running a bit of “Playgroung” on my lower lash line, and onto the outer half of my upper lash line. This added a little definition and brightness to the pale blue base. The light shimmery blue all over the eye and crease felt super retro and fun! ❄️🧚🏻👗 My dark look was created using the shade "Brother" all over the lid and blended into the crease, and "A capella" tapped onto the centre of the eyelid. This rich, dark version of the 90s blue eyeshadow trend felt much more modern and striking. 🧵🌊🌏 These looks are great for brown eyes - as you can see - but there are really no rules! You could achieve a toned down version of this look by lining your eyes with blue shades and adding lashings of mascara! Or pairing a navy blue or turquoise waterline with a bronze or copper upper lid! Don't be afraid of the blue! 2020 is the time to realise your colourful makeup dreams. Complexion Details 👸🏻 If you were interested in my complexion products, I used the ESTĒE LAUDER - Double Wear Stay-in-Place Foundation
in the shade 1C0 Shell, the REVOLUTION - Conceal & Define Full Coverage Concealer
in the shade C1, the Revlon Sculpt + Highlight Contour Kit in Light/Medium, and a touch of Juvia's PLACE - The Saharan Blush Palette
shade Yara to warm up the apples of my cheeks slightly. Lip Details 💄💋 I did a DIY lip colour to get the 90s nude look. I put some L.A. Girl - L.A. Girl Luxury Creme Lipstick
in the shade Teddy around the edges of my lips, and patted some Covergirl Colorliscious Lipstick in the shade 230 in the centre (I think this line is discontinued!) Skin Details: I have fairly dry and fairly sensitive skin. I am very fair, too. I live in Brisbane, so the weather is getting more humid by the day, and is generally very sunny.

✨The BEST Tarte Shape Tape dupe✨
Many have tried, but only one can be the winner. I have tried: 1. COLOURPOP - Pretty Fresh Hyaluronic Concealer 2. MAYBELLINE - Fit Me Concealer 3. REVOLUTION - Conceal & Define Full Coverage Concealer And the winner is... REVOLUTION - Conceal & Define Full Coverage Concealer !!!! The reason I only give it 4 stars is because I wish it were bigger! The product does run out quicker than I would like, but the product itself... *chef’s kiss* The Colourpop concealer gives wonderful coverage and lasts for a good time, which is what earned it 4 stars from me. My problem with this one is that it’s full-coverage to a fault, and almost feels cakey at times! If left on the skin for any amount of time too, it becomes very hard to blend. The Maybelline Fit Me was extremely underwhelming for me... I suppose if you already have perfect skin this could be a match for you, but if you want to conceal anything with your concealer, I’d consider swerving away from this one. The Revolution Conceal & Define trumps the competitors because of its creamy texture, perfect blend-ability, and perfect amount of coverage. When I put this over my freckles, it allows them to still shine through... BUT also when concealing acne and dark spots, it blows the competition out of the water. It is so versatile and can be used for multiple different purposes. I think I’ve found my forever concealer!! P.S. This product is only $7 at Ulta Beauty!!! Run to your nearest Ulta and snatch it up❤️

Smokey Eyes attempt with Estee Lauder
Hi! It’s been a while since i posted but today I’m back with another make up attempt using Estee Lauder 48 Shades 6 Looks To Envy Palette! I’m only after one look though, lol. And the look im after is the Smokey Eyes with Dark Red Lips! This palette has everything (literally); Estee Lauder’s 30 Best-Selling Pure Color Envy EyeShadows, 12 Pure Color Envy Lip Colors to 6 Pure Color Envy Blushes (4 blushes, a bronzer and a highlighter). See? I did not lie. It has EVERYTHING. Everything that’s on my face is coming from this palette! Except complexion of course. For complexion im using Estée Lauder Double Wear Stay In Place Makeup, Maybelline Fit Me Concealer and Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Powder. And i top it off with Urban Decay All Nighter Long Lasting Make Up Setting Spray and im good to go! If you have really oily skin like me, youll love this. Estée Lauder Double Wear Stay In Place Makeup featuring Laura Mercier Loose Powder AND Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray is a literal WOMBO COMBO. I guarantee you your make up will stay on ALL DAY. It’ll cover all ur pores and imperfections and it also leaves you a really smooth, matte (but not too dry) result. Hope this helps! Foundation Dupes, high end & its drugstore match
ESTĒE LAUDER - Double Wear Stay-in-Place Foundation is such an INCREDIBLE FOUNDATION, I would use this forever but at $52.00, i refuse to do so. Its drugstore dupe in my opinion is REVLON - Colorstay Full Cover Foundation its a close one although on the heavier side- as long as you know how to properly apply foundation you shouldnt be worried. And if you want good coverage to hide blemishes, this product is great! . NARS - All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation $60 for a foundation? i will pass! Love NARS as much as anyone else but thats way too much! The drugstore dupe for Nars foundation, to me at least is L'ORÉAL - Infallible Pro-Matte Liquid Longwear Foundation and its $12.99 currently at ulta but ive seen it on amazon for $10 and i have no complaints- great coverage!!!

Quick & Easy Natural Glowing Skin Makeup
Summer is coming for those of us in the Southern Hemisphere, and you’ll likely want to spend it looking like a natural glowing goddess. Fortunately, you can achieve this look quickly and easily with just a couple of drugstore products. Complexion: 👸🏻 I used the discontinued Covergirl Outlast Stay Luminous foundation in shade 810 Classic Ivory. It’s medium-coverage, natural finish, lasts well and has a touch of dew that makes dry skin practically sing. I concealed using REVOLUTION - Conceal & Define Infinite XL Concealer in shade C1, a creamy concealer with great coverage. On top of the fresh foundation, I applied some nude by nature - Touch of Glow Highlighter Stick in shade Bronze to the back of my hand, and used my fingers to dab it onto my cheeks, starting near my ear and moving toward the apple of my cheek. This formula is a bit gritty and can get clumpy, but spreads well enough with the fingers and lasts fairly well. Alternatively, you could use any drugstore bronzer with a bit of shimmer in it. This adds extra glow to the cheeks! Apply some of the nude by nature - Touch of Glow Highlighter Stick in Champagne to the back of the hand, and dab on the high points of the face for added shine. Lightly set the face with translucent powder, focusing on the under eyes, and lightly disputing over the cheeks and forehead. The less, the better, so you don’t remove too much dew! I strengthened my bronzer slightly with the Revlon Sculpt & Highlight Contour Kit, using the bronzer shade to set and deepen the bronzer on my cheeks, and define my jaw. Finally, I used a touch of Juvia's PLACE - The Saharan Blush Palette shade Tau to add some colour to the apples of my cheeks. I love this palette - look at my profile to see my full review! Pro Tip for Enhanced Natural Glow: ✨ You can add an extra dewy glow to your face without sacrificing powder and staying power, by lightly dragging your cheekbone highlighter down to the corner of your mouth. This simple addition pulls the highlighter across the apples of your cheeks to create a natural glistening effect that simulates dewy skin! In my look, I used some “Ringlight” from the MORPHE - The James Charles Palette to add even more glow to the Champagne stick. Enhancing the Eyes: 👀 Pick up some of the shimmery bronzer and swipe it over the entire eyelid, blending it out slightly. This is a quick way to add definition without spending a lot of time on your look. Take a touch of black or dark brown eyeshadow on a flat eyeliner brush and use it to fill in the outer half of the upper lash line. This adds definition to your eyes and makes the lashes appear thicker, without becoming heavy. Finish off with a touch of your favourite mascara, Mine was MAYBELLINE - The Falsies Waterproof Mascara

Trying a new (to me) makeup product✨
On friday night I got bored and decided to do my face. This is what I came up with. What was supposed to be a very natural beat turned into a VERY full glam beat very quickly. The star of the show was the Juvia's PLACE - The Saharan Blush Palette (vol. 1) that I recently got from their flash sale and sis made some points. I have never really been into blush (and I’m pretty sure I put too much on), but I really like how it worked with my bronzer to warm up my face. The other products on my face are: EYEBROWS: - NYX - Tame & Frame Brow Pomade in “Espresso” - L'ORÉAL - Infallible Full Wear Waterproof Concealer in “415 Honey” EYES: - ANASTASIA Beverly Hills - Jackie Aina Eyeshadow Palette - bh cosmetics loose foil pigment and glitter glue - lashes from aliexpress BASE: - MAYBELLINE - Fit Me Matte + Poreless Liquid Foundationin “340 Cappuccino and 356 Warm Coconut” - e.l.f. - Hydrating Camo Concealerin “Deep Olive” (highlight) - Juvia's PLACE - Juvia’s PLACE Shade Sticksin “Tunisia” (contour) - REVOLUTION - MAKEUP REVOLUTION Loose Baking Powderin “Banana Deep” (to set highlight) - MAYBELLINE - Fit Me Matte + Poreless Powderin “355” (to set the rest of my face) - MORPHE - Glamabronze Face & Body Bronzerin “Trailblazer” - e.l.f. - Matte Magic Mist & Set LIPS: - NYX - Slim Lip Pencilin “Espresso” - NYX - Soft Matte Metallic Lip Creamin “London” - NYX - Butter Glossin “Fortune Cookie” - essence - Shine Shine Shine Lipglossin “Behind the Scenes” Aside from my lip products which I took off before putting my mask on, the makeup was 100% transfer proof! Do you see any of your favorite products here? Do you have any product/application recommendations for me? Let me know in the comments!

Jackie Aina Teaches Us about Mask-Proof Makeup
Wearing a mask is an easy thing you can do every day to be a more responsible member of your community. however, a mask can do a number on your makeup, especially if you are wearing one for several hours a day. To give your makeup the best chance, try some of these tips from YouTube beauty guru Jackie Aina. Not only does Jackie have arguably the best personality on the platform, but she knows a thing or two about long-wearing, matte makeup. In her recent video, she shows us how to do makeup that outlasts a mask, so we can be responsible and snatched. 1️⃣ Use a primer before your complexion routine. This improves texture, longevity and overall look. 2️⃣ Tap a light layer of translucent powder over your primed face BEFORE using complexion products. It may seem strange, but Jackie swears by this technique and says it makes her foundation last way longer. 3️⃣ Forego dewy products for matte products where possible. Matte foundations have a longer wear time whilst dewy products tend to slip around more. 4️⃣ Use a high coverage long-wearing concealer under your eyes, and set this well with loose powder. Most masks settle close to the undereyes, so setting this area will reduce the negative effects of friction from your mask. 5️⃣ Use a little bit more of your complexion products than usual. If your mask is going to rub off a bit of your makeup, you want to make sure you’ve laid down a complete base, so that your face isn’t ‘naked’ after a couple of hours. 6️⃣ Jackie pumps some foundation onto the back of her hand, picks some up with a brush and sprays some Ben Nye “Final Seal” onto the brush. Final Seal is used to seal in a smudge- and water-resistant makeup look, like a setting spray. Mixing it into your foundation will incorporate the sweat-resistant properties into the application. 7️⃣ Remember to set along your chin area, perhaps more so than usual, as this area will take a beating from a mask as well. 8️⃣ You can make your eyes pop with a strong mascara application or a set of false lashes, to draw attention to your eyes and keep you looking glamorous while wearing a mask. 9️⃣ As above, stick to matte, powder formulas for blush and highlighter as these are less likely to slip around and can be sealed in with a setting spray. 🔟 Swap your lipgloss for a lipstick or lip stain - you don’t want to leave sticky globs of gloss on the inside of your mask and risk getting some on your matte and snatched complexion work. Added tip: lip liner increases the longevity of just about any lip product! *️⃣ Douse yourself in setting spray and fan yourself dry to seal your makeup in and give it the best chance at surviving your busy day! If you prefer a dewy makeup look, try incorporating your dew here at the end with a dewy-finish or slightly shimmery setting spray. That way, you get to achieve some shine without compromising your makeup

Easy Fairy Glam Makeup for Halloween 🧚🏻‍♂️
Hi everyone! I thought I’d share one of my go-to makeup looks for parties and Halloween events. I’ve done this look in a variety of colours, and today I bring to you the purple version of my Fairy Glam Halloween makeup. The last pic is my 2018 version! Click here file higher quality https://www.instagram.com/p/BpwBhDMFq_j/?igshid=3smuove9ziiw Start off with fresh base makeup. I used NATIO - Clever Stick SPF15 but in the shade Light. It has a pretty heavy feel but a lovely finish on my fairly dry skin! I had to set very liberally because of the tacky finish. Once powdered, I used an angled blush brush to apply the MORPHE - The James Charles Palette shade Pinkity Drinkity all over the lid and cheeks. I buffed some Love That into the brow area where it meets the nose. Then I packed some Single onto the outer corner to get me started. Finally, I popped some Escape onto the lower lash line. I then used a smaller, fluffy blending brush to connect the outer corner to my brow colour 💜 I mixed Love That and Single together to transition the shades nicely. I blended Love That a little down my nose, too, for some drama. I applied Artistry to the inner half of the eyelid, and Hello to the inner corner for some excitement 💙 I contoured the cheeks with the shades Skip, a little bit of Love That to connect with the outer corner (like when doing a draping technique) and then some 518 on the apple of the cheek to warm it up. Dust some skip onto the tip of the nose for extra fairy real ness 🌸 To complete the look, add a pair of false lashes or a load of mascara to add some contrast to the otherwise soft and flirty look! ✨ Of course, you can always add diamantes or jewels or pearls to this look for an even more ethereal feel! ✨ You can translate this look into just about any colour palette. One of my personal favourite combinations is yellows, oranges, and pinks! ✨🌄 I makes for real sunset summer fairy vibes. Whatever colours you use, remember to drape the lighest shade all around the eye and cheek. Try keep the warmer shades on the cheek and the darker shades on the eye, as cool shades on the cheek might look a bit dark and sinister (which is great if that’s what you’re after, obviously!!) 💅🏻 For a summer sunset vibe: yellow all over the eye and cheek, orange in the brow and crease, bright pink in the outer corner and on the apples of the cheeks, a bit of red to contour the cheekbone. Highlight with gold or pink tones! For a more nature fairy look: light green or yellow all over the lid and cheek. Brighter green in the brow and crease, darker green or brighter blue in the outer corner, maybe forego a green/blue/yellow contour, rather just drape the green a little onto the cheekbones and leave it there! I fear it might make you look ill if you contour in green, haha! What combo do you want to try? 🌸

2020 Summer “Sweet Treats” Themed Makeup
2020 Summer “Sweet Treats” Themed Makeup
For those of us who live in the Southern Hemisphere, Summer is just around the corner, and things are already heating up, and it’s not just the weather, honey! In the next few months, half the world will be heading into springtime, and that brings fresh fashion, bright colours, and fierce makeup with it. Here’s how you can create a quick, easy, “sweet treats” themed makeup look to match your shining summertime personality. Complexion Work: For my base makeup, I used REVOLUTION - Fast Base Stick Foundation in shade F3. I concealed with the help of REVOLUTION - Conceal & Define Full Coverage Concealer in shade C1. I contoured my cheeks using Revlon Sculpt & Highlight Contour Kit, in shade light/medium. I then applied a soft layer of Juvia's PLACE - The Saharan Blush Palette shade Leena. I also used NYX - Strobe of Genius Holographic Stick in “Mermaid Amour” for an iridescent shine. Colourful Sweet Treats Eye Makeup: Moving on to the eyes, I used theMORPHE - The James Charles Palette for the whole look. I started off by packing on “Pinkity Drinkity” onto the inner half of my eyelid and crease. I then took a light dab of “Skip”, then more Pinkity Drinkity on the same brush to deepen the shade slightly and make it more of a soft but vibrant pink. For darker skin tones, you may want to use more Skip to create a brighter colour. Next up is shade “518”, which I took on a small blending brush and packed onto the outer corner of my eyelid, sweeping inward diagonally toward my lash line. Similarly, I pulled that orange shade outwards towards the tail of my brow, and softly blended it into my pink shadows. I also pulled some of 518 onto the outer third of my lower lash line. To complete the lower lash line, I used shade “Bee” to bring some lightness and brightness to the inner portion of my eye, blending it into 518 along the way. For a final pop of summery colour, I packed shade “Hello” onto a small pencil brush, and spritzed it with a setting spray, before packing it onto the inner corner of my eye. The super shiny effect of the shadow and its lustrous, tropical colour really added a fun and fabulous edge to the themed look. I finished the eyes off with a little black eyeshadow on the outer half of my upper lash line, and some MAYBELLINE - Volum' Express The Falsies Waterproof Mascara on my lashes, and there you have it! A quick, easy summer makeup look for all levels of makeup lovers. Would you like to see some “how to guides” for more wearable, colourful looks? Comment what colours you’d like to learn how to wear during the daytime!

My Go-To Pallet gives you a Kim K-worthy contour
My Go-To Pallet gives you a Kim K-worthy contour
Who doesn't enjoy convenience? We're human. We love convenience in all shapes and sizes. Why do you think delivery apps are skyrocketing in popularity? While I love a good meal delivered to my front door, I can also appreciate an all-in-one makeup pallet.   My Go-To All-In-One Face Pallet: The Kevyn Aucoin Art of Sculpting + Defining pallet is my #1 choice for a natural everyday pallet that gets the job done fast. I find myself reaching for this pallet when I know I don't have much time to spend on my day's makeup. The pallet retails for $59. Is It Worth It? For me, the creme de la creme of face pallets is the 'The Contour Book Volume II' by Keyin Aucoin. As a longtime fan of his Sculpting Powder, which gives you a Kim K-worthy contour, this pallet comes with my beloved chiseling power and a cream version, highlighters, and four eyeshadows. Altogether, you get a total of eight pans. Naturally, the face products are larger than the eyeshadows.   I love almost everything in this pallet. I'm personally not the biggest eyeshadow person, so I use the shadows as an inner corner highlight instead! Plus, the darker eyeshadow shade can double as a brow powder for me. It comes with a huge mirror, too, making great for travel or minor touch-ups. There's also a handy guide that teaches you how to sculpt your cheekbones out and use the eyeshadows to naturally shape and define the eyes.   Tip: I love layering the Candlelight Cream and Candlelight Powder. The subtle shimmer in the powder really makes the cream highlight pop. Plus, it makes it last longer! Final Thoughts: I love this pallet, and I ultimately think it's worth it. If not for anything else, I continue to buy this pallet for the Sculpting Powder alone. It's seriously THE BEST contour powder I've ever used.

Best eyebrow and eyelash gel f
Best eyebrow and eyelash gel for CAD $2.99. I started using this product about 4 years ago and still use it today. I started using it for my eyelashes to separate and as a base before applying mascara. I then started using it to set my eyebrows. It can be used in two ways: 1) use it after filling in your eyebrows OR 2) use it after filling in your eyebrows, apply powder to set your eyebrows and then using this gel. This product is the best, it does not dry out and does not get clumpy. I would honestly recommend this product 100%. You cannot go wrong by spending $2.99 on this product. It can be used on any skin tone and on any skin colour. The gel can be used to separate lashes and you do not have to use mascara. It really helps to lengthen the lashes and make the mascara process a lot easier. As you can see in my picture, my eyelashes are separated and look long and healthy, my eyebrows are set as well. My eyebrows had been done for 8 hours and did not move, as seen in the last picture. essence - Lash & Brow Gel Mascara REVLON - Photoready Candid Natural Finish Anti-Pollution Foundation DOSE OF COLORS - DOSE OF COLORS Liquid Matte Lipstick MAYBELLINE - Fit Me Loose Finishing Powder
