Summer is around the corner in the Southern Hemisphere. In Australia, the weather is already warming up and the sun is getting shinier by the day ☀️ With a humid climate on the way, you’ll want to protect your wavy, curly and coils hair with moisture. You’ll also need a curl defining gel that can withstand the conditions. Here are some examples of affordable curl defining gels that are Curly Girl Method friendly for your upcoming summer adventures:   What is Curl Defining Gel? This type of product is designed to tame and define curls by trapping moisture in the hair and protecting it from frizz. This is all whilst enhancing your natural curly texture. Wavy Hair Textures: AA curl defining gel might be too heavy for waves. Try lighter styling products like creams or mousses. Try kms - Curlup Control Creme
or MATRIX - Curl Please Super Defrizzer
. Curly Hair Textures: Those of you with more defined and tighter curls can probably handle a curl defining gel. A gel like aussie - Instant Freeze Hair with Jojoba Oil & Sea Kelp Gel
is great for humidity. You can also try BIOSILK - Rock Hard Gelee
for another affordable option. Coily Hair Textures: Our coily CGM friends always rave about the cantu - Shea Butter for Natural Hair Coconut Curling Cream
and ECOCO - Eco Style Olive Oil Gel
for an affordable and long-lasting hold. Why are These Products Curly Girl Method Friendly? The curly girl method approves brands and products that don’t include harmful, drying and dirtying ingredients. These include sulphates, silicones, mineral oils, parabens, alcohols etc. You can use a site like www.isitcg.com to check your products ingredients! Pro Tips for Using Curl Defining Gel: 🖤 Most hair types will benefit from additional moisture during the warmer months. 🖤 When you get out the shower after washing your hair, wring some water out, take a blob of leave in conditioner, and squeeze it into your hair. 🖤 Scrunch from the ends up to the root. 🖤 Follow this up with a blob of curl defining gel, mousse or cream. Scrunch it into your hair to lock in the moisture and encourage a curly texture. 🖤 Towels can be damaging to curly hair so scrunch with an old t-shirt to dry off the hair some more.

My Bunny & Her Hair 🐰
We call her Bunny. Her name is Heather Olivia. She is almost 5 years old. I was a mother long before she came along. A mother to 3 boys which, at the time of her birth, made me feel unqualified for the job of raising a girl. The youngest girl in my family at the time was 18 years old so I did not have much experience with girls since there were so many males in my family. Over time, this irrational feeling of not measuring up went away and I am now confident in my mothering of a young African American female. There was only one issue I had a problem tackling - her hair! I didn’t know much about doing a girls hair and I couldn’t just take her to a barber like my boys. So, I started out by doing what I did to my hair when I started my natural hair care journey. I even used the same products and she still uses these products to this very day! I searched YouTube videos and learned so much from them. I practiced on her and now I think I’ve got it! Now, she loves when I do her hair and I’m more comfortable doing it. Today I had to do some finger coils on her hair and she absolutely loved it. I even let her pick out her headband! Here is the list of products used during her normal regimen and today: Mane‘n Tail - Deep Moisturizing Shampooand SheaMoisture - Jamaican Black Castor Oil Strengthen & Restore Rinse-Out Conditionerwere used for washing her hair. cantu - Shea Butter Leave in Conditioning Repair Cream and SheaMoisture - Coconut & Hibiscus, Kids Curling Butter Creamwere used on her hair as leave ins. Hot Six Oil, SheaMoisture - 100% Extra Virgin Coconut Oil, ECOCO - Eco Style Olive Oil GelandMiss Jessie's - Pillow Soft Curlswere used to seal in moisture as well as for styling her amazingly curly 3C/4A hair.

6 HG curl creams💕Give U the Best Twist Out Ever👏🏾
The key to getting healthy curls is to keep your locks as hydrated as possible. That’s why the best curl creams have moisturizing ingredients. To help you narrow down your choices, here are 6 of the best products for curly hair that will make your type 3 or 4 curls look beautiful. Thanks to these favorite curlers to define natural hair, I can transform a frizzy head into a radiant spectacle of curls. Eden BodyWorks It contains natural ingredients, such as coconut oil, shea butter. This product works great on natural black hair! I did Bantu knots using this product and it turned out amazing!! Shea Moisture This is the only Shea Moisture product that I use from time to time. I don't use it too often because it contains silk protein additions and it can upset my hair's moisture. I tend to use curl definition creams in my shampoo routine, which usually includes a deep treatment. My deep hair care already contains hydrolyzed protein and this curl enhancing smoothie can harden my hair sometimes and I think it boils down to the fact that I have too much protein in my hair. Cantu With such an affordable price, Cantu's Coconut Curling Cream gives students a bang for their buck. Formulated without harsh ingredients, this thick defining leaves hair stylable and visibly brighter. In addition, it smells good! Be careful though, although it has a nice blend of added oils, it also contains protein which can be a problem if your hair is sensitive to it. Camille Rose  I use this after applying a leave-in conditioner to give my hair extra hold. On days where my hair needs extra help, I follow up with a bit of hair gel! Afro Sheen I bought this product because I wanted something cheaper than Shea Moisture. It’s very thick and over moisturizes my curls I think it does help to bring them out.  AS I AM Definitely worth the price! It is thick and very moisturizing. It doesn’t have to use a lot to get the full effects of it.

Attention all my wavy ladies!! 🌊💓
Inspired by all the curly girl videos on TikTok, I have become determined to perfect my hair routine! I bought this product to try after a leave-in conditioner and before a gel. I ended up hating the gel, but I really like this product! I have 2B hair, and I find this product to help hold the curl while also being lightweight. It also left my hair feeling soft and smells amazing! For $8, I definitely recommend this if you are trying to perfect your curly girl routine.

5 Best Hacks Saved My Curly Hair💖💖💖
5 Best Hacks Saved My Curly Hair💖💖💖
I have curly hair. That is not an easy thing for me. I used a lot of hair products including masks and conditioners, but my hair is still frizzy. I will share several things I have learned through my experience dealing with my hair. I hope this can be helpful if you have curly hair as well.  Figure out your curl Porosity Your curl porosity is your hair’s ability to absorb moisture. Curls with low porosity require lightweight products and heat treatments, while curls with high porosity need butters, oils, and proteins to keep them moisturized and healthy. So you need to know your curl porosity before you decide what hair treatment you need.  Use a curl-specific detangling brush. Hair is fragile when it is wet. It's so easy to break and tangle. That's why you need a nice brush! I highly recommend you try a detanglish brush especially for your coils. A nice brush actually makes a difference.  Apply your conditioner to DRY hair, not wet. Using condition on dry hair helps maximize its potency. If your strands are saturated with water, they can't absorb much hair conditioner. So you should use your conditoner before you step into the shower.  Skip the shampoo and co-wash instead. If your curls are really dry, skip the shampoo completely. Wash your hair with only conditioner or those with a co-wash formula. Co-wash your curls once a week or as often as needed to keep your hair moisturized without drying it out. Comb your curls when they’re sopping wet. Comb your hair when you are in the shower! Don't wait till it's dry. You want your curls to clump together and dry in natural pattern. If you comb them when they are dry, it doesn't work that way.  I hope this is helpful to you. If you want to know more, let me know.

Help my hair!
Help my hair!
So my whole life I have always had long and supposedly straight hair because I had always had it done up and I had not had it down for 24 hours in YEARS so I was taking care of my hair as if it was straight and as you can see it is NOT STRAIGHT you could even call it curly. I had just found out last year... lol 😂 that I had curly hair 👩‍🦱 and I’m still new to this curly hair thing so if there are any tips or products you know of please recommend! My “hair routine” rn looks like - Use normal shampoo and conditioner 🧴 - Once a week leave in Marc Anthony hair mask in for 10 minutes then rinse out. - Get out of shower and scrunch water out of hair with t-shirt to reduce frizz - Scrunch in Marc Anthony curl enhancing lotion and styling foam. Also can someone tell me my hair type? Please educate me! 😘 MARC ANTHONY TRUE PROFESSIONAL - Strictly Curls Curl Enhancing Styling Foam MARC ANTHONY TRUE PROFESSIONAL - Curl Defining Lotion MARC ANTHONY TRUE PROFESSIONAL - Damage Repair Mask

For curly girls!6 tips you can stick to!
For curly girls!6 tips you can stick to!
Recently, my curly hair has become frizzy and I am looking for some methods to improve my hair condition. I asked for advise from my friends and did some research on how to treat my curly hair in summer. Today I’d like to go through some essential practices to ensure that our curls love summer too. Hope these tips are helpful to you🥰!   1. Use SPF! A Summer Curly Hair Care Essential Curly hair naturally has a tendency to be drier than other hair types and this means that we need to be extra careful! So we can use products which contain UV protectors for hair and we can factor (no pun intended 😉) these into our summer curly hair care routine.   2. Moisture and treatments – go all out on the conditioner in Summer! First wash your hair, then apply the mask generously through the mid-lengths and ends. Apply a low heat with a hairdryer. The heat from the dryer enhances the absorption of the deep conditioner. Then rinse the deep conditioner off and style as usual. You can also pre-poo with an oil to moisturize.   3. Minimize heat! If you will still be heat-styling your hair in the summer it is more important than ever to use a heat-protection product. Protect your curls as much as possible from the damaging effects of a heated tool and always use a diffuser on the lowest heat setting.   4. Wash with care! Using a good shampoo that won’t damage your curly hair is crucial. Sulphate-free shampoos may not lather up as much as other shampoos but they will still cleanse your hair effectively and are well worth investing in.   5. Humidity!  Humidity causes frizz! There are some anti-frizz/humidity products which don’t contain silicones. Some of these are called anti-humectants – meaning that they actually repel water away from your hair. These should be used sparingly, however, as extended use can dry air out. 6. Don’t stress! Don’t let worrying about your curly hair stand in the way of enjoying summer. Curly hair isn’t meant to be perfect 😉 Don’t be afraid of a little frizz and enjoy!   A great summer curly hair care routine will really make a difference. Don’t forget to moisturise your hair, use great products and, if in doubt, cover up those gorgeous curls! Do you have any tips for curly hair? Share with me!

If you curly hair often gets oily, there are some mistakes you've probably made
If you curly hair often gets oily, there are some mistakes you've probably made
Many people with curly hair like me are often bothered by greasy hair problems. Excessive oil production can occur for several reasons. First, people don't brush their hair (or do it infrequently). If you aren’t brushing your hair, oil will start accumulating around the scalp. In some cases this means oily scalp and dry ends. Another reason for more grease when your strands are curly is that you might be tempted to wash it less, since it likely holds volume and texture days after a shampoo. But this only gives the oil more of a chance to accumulate on the scalp and the hair itself. It also can be hereditary or due to hormonal changes (puberty or pregnancy), or even changes in seasons, lifestyle, or climate. Poor diet, improper hair care, and some medicines can also impact how oily your hair is. Then, how to manage greasy hair? Here are some tips for you guys! 1. Keep your hands out of your hair The oils on your fingers can transfer to your hair if you touch it too often. If you have a tendency to touch your curls often, you should get rid of the bad habit. 2. Detangle correctly Do you still use a brush to detangle your curls? If so, ditch it immediately. While a scalp massage can help increase blood flow and circulation, which is good for your hair, raking your scalp with a brush is not. This will distribute oils throughout your hair and disrupt your natural curl patterns. It doesn't mean that you should not brush your hair. The right way is to brush your hair away from the scalp. 3. Choose right hair washing products Does your hair feel greasy and oily almost immaculately after shampooing? If so, it might be time to check out the ingredients in your shampoo and other products. You probably choose the wrong ones. If they feature harsh chemicals, you could be contributing to your scalp becoming overly dry. When this happens, your body will make more oil to compensate, which leads to greasy hair. Try to focus on gentle products that hydrate. 4. Don't abuse your scalp Avoid deep scrubs and overly aggressive massages when shampooing. While rubbing your scalp with your finger tips is important to help break up build up, overly manipulating your scalp can actually cause an overproduction in oil. Also, when you're washing your hair try to avoid using extremely hot water, as this can aggravate your skin. 5. Use dry shampoo Dry shampoo is the best friend of greasy hair! It works by absorbing oil and helping to lift it away from your scalp. This will buy you a few days between washes and keeps your hair from looking overly oil. Additionally, it can provide a bit of texture for those curlies with finer hair. Leave your comments below if you have any questions!
