Jackie Aina Teaches Us about Mask-Proof Makeup

Wearing a mask is an easy thing you can do every day to be a more responsible member of your community. however, a mask can do a number on your makeup, especially if you are wearing one for several hours a day. To give your makeup the best chance, try some of these tips from YouTube beauty guru Jackie Aina. Not only does Jackie have arguably the best personality on the platform, but she knows a thing or two about long-wearing, matte makeup. In her recent video, she shows us how to do makeup that outlasts a mask, so we can be responsible and snatched. 1️⃣ Use a primer before your complexion routine. This improves texture, longevity and overall look. 2️⃣ Tap a light layer of translucent powder over your primed face BEFORE using complexion products. It may seem strange, but Jackie swears by this technique and says it makes her foundation last way longer. 3️⃣ Forego dewy products for matte products where possible. Matte foundations have a longer wear time whilst dewy products tend to slip around more. 4️⃣ Use a high coverage long-wearing concealer under your eyes, and set this well with loose powder. Most masks settle close to the undereyes, so setting this area will reduce the negative effects of friction from your mask. 5️⃣ Use a little bit more of your complexion products than usual. If your mask is going to rub off a bit of your makeup, you want to make sure you’ve laid down a complete base, so that your face isn’t ‘naked’ after a couple of hours. 6️⃣ Jackie pumps some foundation onto the back of her hand, picks some up with a brush and sprays some Ben Nye “Final Seal” onto the brush. Final Seal is used to seal in a smudge- and water-resistant makeup look, like a setting spray. Mixing it into your foundation will incorporate the sweat-resistant properties into the application. 7️⃣ Remember to set along your chin area, perhaps more so than usual, as this area will take a beating from a mask as well. 8️⃣ You can make your eyes pop with a strong mascara application or a set of false lashes, to draw attention to your eyes and keep you looking glamorous while wearing a mask. 9️⃣ As above, stick to matte, powder formulas for blush and highlighter as these are less likely to slip around and can be sealed in with a setting spray. 🔟 Swap your lipgloss for a lipstick or lip stain - you don’t want to leave sticky globs of gloss on the inside of your mask and risk getting some on your matte and snatched complexion work. Added tip: lip liner increases the longevity of just about any lip product! *️⃣ Douse yourself in setting spray and fan yourself dry to seal your makeup in and give it the best chance at surviving your busy day! If you prefer a dewy makeup look, try incorporating your dew here at the end with a dewy-finish or slightly shimmery setting spray. That way, you get to achieve some shine without compromising your makeup

Quick & Easy Natural Glowing Skin Makeup
Summer is coming for those of us in the Southern Hemisphere, and you’ll likely want to spend it looking like a natural glowing goddess. Fortunately, you can achieve this look quickly and easily with just a couple of drugstore products. Complexion: 👸🏻 I used the discontinued Covergirl Outlast Stay Luminous foundation in shade 810 Classic Ivory. It’s medium-coverage, natural finish, lasts well and has a touch of dew that makes dry skin practically sing. I concealed using REVOLUTION - Conceal & Define Infinite XL Concealer in shade C1, a creamy concealer with great coverage. On top of the fresh foundation, I applied some nude by nature - Touch of Glow Highlighter Stick in shade Bronze to the back of my hand, and used my fingers to dab it onto my cheeks, starting near my ear and moving toward the apple of my cheek. This formula is a bit gritty and can get clumpy, but spreads well enough with the fingers and lasts fairly well. Alternatively, you could use any drugstore bronzer with a bit of shimmer in it. This adds extra glow to the cheeks! Apply some of the nude by nature - Touch of Glow Highlighter Stick in Champagne to the back of the hand, and dab on the high points of the face for added shine. Lightly set the face with translucent powder, focusing on the under eyes, and lightly disputing over the cheeks and forehead. The less, the better, so you don’t remove too much dew! I strengthened my bronzer slightly with the Revlon Sculpt & Highlight Contour Kit, using the bronzer shade to set and deepen the bronzer on my cheeks, and define my jaw. Finally, I used a touch of Juvia's PLACE - The Saharan Blush Palette shade Tau to add some colour to the apples of my cheeks. I love this palette - look at my profile to see my full review! Pro Tip for Enhanced Natural Glow: ✨ You can add an extra dewy glow to your face without sacrificing powder and staying power, by lightly dragging your cheekbone highlighter down to the corner of your mouth. This simple addition pulls the highlighter across the apples of your cheeks to create a natural glistening effect that simulates dewy skin! In my look, I used some “Ringlight” from the MORPHE - The James Charles Palette to add even more glow to the Champagne stick. Enhancing the Eyes: 👀 Pick up some of the shimmery bronzer and swipe it over the entire eyelid, blending it out slightly. This is a quick way to add definition without spending a lot of time on your look. Take a touch of black or dark brown eyeshadow on a flat eyeliner brush and use it to fill in the outer half of the upper lash line. This adds definition to your eyes and makes the lashes appear thicker, without becoming heavy. Finish off with a touch of your favourite mascara, Mine was MAYBELLINE - The Falsies Waterproof Mascara

Baddie On A Budget
Hello beautiful people! on this post i decided to share with yall some of my drugstore ride or dies! FACE/BASE NYX - Bare With Me Cannabis Primer MAYBELLINE - SuperStay 24H Full Coverage Liquid Foundation e.l.f. - Hydrating Camo Concealer L'ORÉAL - L'Oreal Paris Infallible More Than Concealer 10ml #Quo Beauty - Blush Duo - Peach Perfect[products]#[FourStars] MILANI - Rose Powder Blush MAYBELLINE - Super Stay Multi-Use Foundation Stick i find that i would constantly reach for these products more than others! my top picks for this list, however, would be the L’Oreal concealer and the Maybelline foundation stick! If you’re wondering why i have two of them foundation pics, it’s bc I use one as a contour stick, and the other as a spot corrector! i love how they blend out perfectly no matter what foundation i use. LIPS essence - Shine Shine Shine Holiday Kit NYX - Suede Matte Lipstick L'ORÉAL - Rouge Signature Matte Liquid Lipstick MILANI - Keep It Sweet Sugar Lip Scrub when i got the Essence shine shine shine lipgloss, it was CLEAR, i swear!!! it’s the best clear gloss for its price, in my opinion. yall can see how used and love this product is on the picture lol. both the Nyx and the L’Oreal matte lippies are my fave when i want to rock a nude lip, and what better way to prevent crusty lips than a lip exfoliator! i like the Milani one because it did the job for me AND it tastes good (let’s be honest, sometimes we “accidentally” ingest these). EYES wet n wild - Bretman Rock Shadow Palette NYX - Ultimate Shadow Palette pixi - Liquid Fairy Lights L'ORÉAL - Telescopic Mascara when it comes to eye make up, i either tone it AAAALL the way down, or i go HAM with colors. these palettes give me both! plus points for Bretman’s palette too, because I AM ALL HERE FOR THE FILIPINO PRIDE! the Nyx palette is my first ever rainbow palette, so it will always have a place in my heart. the Fairy Lights, i find, is a good dupe for the Stila liquid shadows, and the Telescopic mascara is the ONLY mascara for me. and there you have it! if you’re looking to have a good makeup day that can also save some $$$, try these products! special mention to MILANI - Eye Tech Extreme Liquid Eyeliner : this guy never failed me yet! i threw out my empty, and I’m in dire need of a new one lol. Hope this post helps some yall! Happy hunting!

Easy Fairy Glam Makeup for Halloween 🧚🏻‍♂️
Hi everyone! I thought I’d share one of my go-to makeup looks for parties and Halloween events. I’ve done this look in a variety of colours, and today I bring to you the purple version of my Fairy Glam Halloween makeup. The last pic is my 2018 version! Click here file higher quality https://www.instagram.com/p/BpwBhDMFq_j/?igshid=3smuove9ziiw Start off with fresh base makeup. I used NATIO - Clever Stick SPF15 but in the shade Light. It has a pretty heavy feel but a lovely finish on my fairly dry skin! I had to set very liberally because of the tacky finish. Once powdered, I used an angled blush brush to apply the MORPHE - The James Charles Palette shade Pinkity Drinkity all over the lid and cheeks. I buffed some Love That into the brow area where it meets the nose. Then I packed some Single onto the outer corner to get me started. Finally, I popped some Escape onto the lower lash line. I then used a smaller, fluffy blending brush to connect the outer corner to my brow colour 💜 I mixed Love That and Single together to transition the shades nicely. I blended Love That a little down my nose, too, for some drama. I applied Artistry to the inner half of the eyelid, and Hello to the inner corner for some excitement 💙 I contoured the cheeks with the shades Skip, a little bit of Love That to connect with the outer corner (like when doing a draping technique) and then some 518 on the apple of the cheek to warm it up. Dust some skip onto the tip of the nose for extra fairy real ness 🌸 To complete the look, add a pair of false lashes or a load of mascara to add some contrast to the otherwise soft and flirty look! ✨ Of course, you can always add diamantes or jewels or pearls to this look for an even more ethereal feel! ✨ You can translate this look into just about any colour palette. One of my personal favourite combinations is yellows, oranges, and pinks! ✨🌄 I makes for real sunset summer fairy vibes. Whatever colours you use, remember to drape the lighest shade all around the eye and cheek. Try keep the warmer shades on the cheek and the darker shades on the eye, as cool shades on the cheek might look a bit dark and sinister (which is great if that’s what you’re after, obviously!!) 💅🏻 For a summer sunset vibe: yellow all over the eye and cheek, orange in the brow and crease, bright pink in the outer corner and on the apples of the cheeks, a bit of red to contour the cheekbone. Highlight with gold or pink tones! For a more nature fairy look: light green or yellow all over the lid and cheek. Brighter green in the brow and crease, darker green or brighter blue in the outer corner, maybe forego a green/blue/yellow contour, rather just drape the green a little onto the cheekbones and leave it there! I fear it might make you look ill if you contour in green, haha! What combo do you want to try? 🌸

90s Makeup Trend: Blue Eyes and Nude Lips
So, we’re all back in the 90s as far as fashion trends are concerned. Thankfully, we’re keeping this decade’s eyebrows! I decided to try out two 90s inspired makeup looks with different shades of blue from the MORPHE - The James Charles Palette . My light look was created using the shade “Hello” all over the lid and crease, and running a bit of “Playgroung” on my lower lash line, and onto the outer half of my upper lash line. This added a little definition and brightness to the pale blue base. The light shimmery blue all over the eye and crease felt super retro and fun! ❄️🧚🏻👗 My dark look was created using the shade "Brother" all over the lid and blended into the crease, and "A capella" tapped onto the centre of the eyelid. This rich, dark version of the 90s blue eyeshadow trend felt much more modern and striking. 🧵🌊🌏 These looks are great for brown eyes - as you can see - but there are really no rules! You could achieve a toned down version of this look by lining your eyes with blue shades and adding lashings of mascara! Or pairing a navy blue or turquoise waterline with a bronze or copper upper lid! Don't be afraid of the blue! 2020 is the time to realise your colourful makeup dreams. Complexion Details 👸🏻 If you were interested in my complexion products, I used the ESTĒE LAUDER - Double Wear Stay-in-Place Foundation in the shade 1C0 Shell, the REVOLUTION - Conceal & Define Full Coverage Concealer in the shade C1, the Revlon Sculpt + Highlight Contour Kit in Light/Medium, and a touch of Juvia's PLACE - The Saharan Blush Palette shade Yara to warm up the apples of my cheeks slightly. Lip Details 💄💋 I did a DIY lip colour to get the 90s nude look. I put some L.A. Girl - L.A. Girl Luxury Creme Lipstick in the shade Teddy around the edges of my lips, and patted some Covergirl Colorliscious Lipstick in the shade 230 in the centre (I think this line is discontinued!) Skin Details: I have fairly dry and fairly sensitive skin. I am very fair, too. I live in Brisbane, so the weather is getting more humid by the day, and is generally very sunny.

I know a lot of girls are looking for ways to illuminate your complexion. Except base makeup, the most important thing is highlighter. Just choose the right one and apply it in the right place, and you can get glowingskin in a second! This is my recent makeup look. I wanted to make a summer glow makeup at first, but finally it became fox eye makeup. It is also a little bit smoky makeup. Products I use: Base makeup: VALMONT - Elixir Teint Précieux Foundationit Cosmetics - Bye Bye Under Eye Anti-Aging Concealer(highly recommended) Eyebrows: ANASTASIA Beverly Hills - Dipbrow Pomade Eyeshadow: NYX - Ultimate Shadow Palette Highlights: MAC - Extra Dimension Skinfinish Highlighter#fDouble gleam Honestly this is my current favorite highlighter! You can tell from the pic that the most essential part of this makeup is the highlighter. It will illuminate complexion immediately and make your skin glow! Girls with fair or medium skin tone can use this one. Usage: You can spray water with a brush or just use your hands. Lipstick: MAC - MAC Matte Lipstick#persistence

IL MAKIAGE — worth the hype??
IL MAKIAGE — worth the hype??
Who else is getting this ad pop up on their feed?! 🙋🏼‍♀️ Well, guess what!! I caved!! LOL! Here’s my first impression: IL MAKIAGE - WOKE UP LIKE THIS $44 ($5 trial price. If you like it, you keep it and the full price gets charged onto your card. If you don’t, send it back and that’s that!) Pros: 🥳 Hydrating, natural finish 🥳 They got my shade right (though I was highly, HIGHLY doubtful they would because the quiz was so lame, lol) 🥳 This beautiful B HAS A PUMP!! 🥳 This blended out soooo seamlessly 🥳 Buildable coverage* Cons: 🤔 Medium coverage (which I honestly prefer, but could be a con for some of y’all) 🤔 *So I’m not one to aim for full coverage, but I attempted to apply a little more product on my discoloration and current breakout and the foundation separated where I attempted this. Something to keep in mind 🤔 The price! I’m not a big fan of foundations or make up to be over $15 lol but maybe this isn’t a con for y’all 🤷🏼‍♀️ Just to clarify, this is a first impression. Will update down below. 😁 Xoxo Xenia On my face: Primer: L'ORÉAL - Infallible Pro Glow Lock Primer Works well for the most part. Ingredient alert: dimethicone! Holds the make up in place, but takes a while to set... or maybe it’s just my skin rejecting this B? Concealer: smashbox - Studio Skin Flawless 24 Hour Concealer Goes on and blends flawlessly... then creases. I’ve tried applying extra moisturizer/eye cream; I’ve tried baking; I’ve tried just setting it with powder; I’ve tried not setting it. I’m open to suggestions. 🥺 Blush: MILANI - MILANI Baked Blush Beautiful, pigmented... still trying to figure out how to apply the right amount if you can’t tell. Lol y’all makin’ me blush to👏🏼day👏🏼!! ☺️😂 Highlight: MAYBELLINE - FaceStudio Master Chrome Metallic Highlighter Love! Though super glittery. 😬 Eyeshadow: tarte - Tarteist PRO Amazonian Clay Palette Applies and blends out nice. Dark shades aren’t so dark. Glitters are beautiful! Mascara: L'ORÉAL - Voluminous Lash Primer Definitely helps make my lashes look longer and thicker prior to mascara application! I just dislike an extra step. Lol L'ORÉAL - Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara Love this!! Lashes multiply, thicken, and lengthen! Buttt, the formula is too wet and my lashes lose its curl. (FYI: I have long, straight lashes and need to curl prior to application.) Brows: ANASTASIA Beverly Hills - Dipbrow Pomade FAVE!! Eyeliner: IL MAKIAGE - Inkliner Nothing special here... felt tip liner that applies patchy and smudges when I smile. Typical for me with how my eyes work. Lips: it Cosmetics - Vitality Lip Flush in Reviver Lipstick Stain FAVE! e.l.f. - Lip Plumping Gloss Not the best, doesn’t necessarily plump. But I personally like it! Love the cooling affect.

I love a super punchy warm orange look! The Coral Obsessions mini palette from Huda Beauty is perfect for that! HUDA BEAUTY - Haze Obsessions Eyeshadow Palette For this look with a fluffy eyeshadow brush I blended shade 6 into the whole crease and shade 2 into the outer corner. Then I gathered shade 9 on a flat, stiff brush and wet it with MAC - MAC Prep + Prime Fix+ Finishing Mist (or water or any setting spray you have) and I pack that onto the entire lid. It’s super simple and takes only a few minutes! Add some mascara (I’m using Rodial - Glamolash Mascara XXL ) and you’re all done! #cheriepartner
