The Wayne Goss Guide to Hooded Eyes
I don’t know about you guys, but since the world went up in flames earlier this year, I have been consuming a lot of online content in between trying to study, trying to work freelance, and trying to stay sane! I stumbled across a professional makeup artist from the UK who has a rather defined film and makeup style. You may have heard of Wayne Goss, an esteemed English makeup artist who, truthfully, seems standoffish at first, but you quickly start to love him. Wayne uses his platform to spit straight makeup facts and debunk beauty myths like you’ve never seen before. He teaches his audience makeup basics in quick, easy-to-follow tutorials, and highlights how you can use professional techniques to improve your look. What I love about Wayne Goss is that he emphasises makeup techniques that look good in real life, not JUST on camera and with a filter on Instagram. Wayne’s bald approach to makeup and sharp delivery make him my new go-to for tutorials. Today, I’m introducing you to the Wayne Goss tutorials for hooded eyes 👁👄👁 With an eyelid that almost totally disappears when my eyes are open, it can be difficult to create makeup looks that show up and have an impact all the time. Wayne Goss’s Pro Tips: 1️⃣ Use a small pencil brush to pick up a darker eye contouring colour and apply it along your lower lash line. 2️⃣ follow the natural curve of your lower lash line and extend it slightly, following the slightly upward slope. Extend it by a couple of millimetres. 3️⃣ Change to a slightly larger brush that is defined and dense, like a compact crease brush. Pick up more of the darker contouring shade, tap off excess, and connect the end point of your lower lash shadow. From this point, swipe the brush up along your orbital bone, which likely protrudes just above the ‘crease’ your eyelid creates when open. ⏺ IMPORTANT: Do these steps with your eye open and looking straight ahead into a mirror. Do not do this while looking down into a mirror or you might “lose” the shadow in the fold of your eyelid. 4️⃣ Take a larger, fluffier blending brush anduse it to lightly blend some of your outer-V colour into your eyelid. The gentler the better, as the majority of colour and shadow will stay at your outermost corner. This keeps the eye look defined. 5️⃣ Use a tiny pencil brush to apply an inner-corner highlight that is focused and intentional. a heavy hand will make your eye look clumsy and won’t accentuate your eye shape. Apply a highlighting shade to the inner corner, slightly onto the inner third of the eyelid, and lightly connecting the inner corner to the contouring shade on the lower lash line. 6️⃣ Use a liner brush and black eyeshadow to stamp along your upper lash line, adding light but effective definition to your eyelid without drowning out your shadow work. Voila! You have a nicely defined hooded eyeshadow look that can be translated into any colour story you desire. Share your favourite tips in the comments! 💕
5 MIN GO-TO EYE LOOK✨ #CheriePartner
Some days I value sleep over getting ready but that doesn’t mean I have to opt for no makeup. Here is a simple eye look I create on those days where I am rushing/running late. The best part is it is travel friendly as it doesn’t require an additional eyeshadow pallet— just bronzers as the eyeshadow. To create: (Follow along with video) Products: MARC JACOBS BEAUTY - O!Mega Bronzer Coconut Perfect Tan this product is the perfect contour shade for myself as it is a cool neutral tone. It contours the crease subtly. benefit - Hoola Bronzer Bash Value Set (in caramel). This product is a smooth and buttery formula that blends out the eye makeup with adding a touch of warmth back in. URBAN DECAY - Naked Illuminated Shimmering Powder for Face and Body I LOVE THIS HIGHLIGHTER!! It is extra shimmery adding so much sparkle to any look. Also there is no fallout which is a plus. L'ORÉAL - Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascarathis mascara does a good job at adding length and separating the lashes for a voluminous effect. I do not experience clumping with this product. What kind of makeup looks do you go for when you are short on time? Eyeshadow, liner etc⬇️⬇️ Song: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=JogC15PvayM

Morticia Addams inspired eyeshadow 🦇
I got a bunch of new work dresses and today I wore a very long, fitted black cami dress which was giving me major Morticia Addams vibes so I decided to play up my eyes to match her. I would have put on red lipstick but I was heading to work and I didn’t want red lipstick in my mask all day 😂 For this look I used the Lime Crime - Venus Eyeshadow Palette . I took the shade Cameo and fluffed it in my crease up to the brow bone. Then I took the shade Ash and fluffed that in the outer part of my crease. I laid down some e.l.f. - Line & Define Eye Tape prior to this look to create that crisp line so I could really focus on blending without worry. Then with a pointed fluffy brush I started working the shade Unseen on the outer lid and blending up slightly into the crease. For the inner lid I laid down Cameo as a base again and then I went over top of it with Marble . This palette is one of my favorite palettes for a smokey look! All the shades are very pigmented and blendable. The only shade that isn’t completely opaque is the shade Marble but it’s a beautiful wash of white with some shimmer that works perfect as a topper or under the brow bone. I finished the whole look off with benefit - Roller Lash Curling Mascara which is hands down my favorite mascara. I have sparse eyelashes so I don’t like clumpy mascaras. This one really separates, curls, and lengthens them to the point where it looks like I have false lashes on. #CheriePartner

Eye look inspired by my CAT!
That’s right. I decided to create an eye shadow and liner look inspired by my cat Kiwi. Okay, I’m sliiiiiightly (read extremely) obsessed with my cat. She’s super pretty, super cute and one of those rare cats that acts like a dog (plays fetch, is extremely friendly, etc.). And she just has the prettiest colors. I recently bought the Pat McGrath Eye Ecstasy duo eye shadow palettes and realized the Sublime palette had some great colors to match Kiwi. I did have to borrow one more color from the Urban Decay Naked Smoky palette to complete the look. I also used three different eye liners. I’m still working on my skills, so things are a little messy (my signature!) and I was also struggling with a watery left eye that left one of those red patches on my skin to which eyeshadow REFUSED to stick. But, overall I think it’s pretty fun! Eyeshadow: Pat McGrath Eye Ecstasy Sublime palette using sinful on the lid, brow line and outer/under eye; sextrovert on half the lid; and illicit in the outer corner. I also used Urban Decay Smoke palette’s RADAR in the crease. Eyeliner: Tarte Lights Camera Lashes Precision Liquid liner on the top lash line, KVD Vegan Beauty Cake Pencil Eyeliner in white out on the lower water line and Maybelline Unstoppable eyeliner on the lower lash line. I’ll come back with individual reviews at a later date, just wanted to share a look I had fun with!
get the BIGGEST lashes ever!
This is hands down my new favorite mascara! Though I have long eyelashes, I love adding volume and flair to them to give me even more of a doe-eyed look, and this mascara is perfect for that! The brush has really tiny bristles, which makes it easy to add volume without any clumping, and is also perfect for those smaller bottom lashes. This formula also doesn’t wear off throughout the day which is necessary for the warmer months! I would 100% recommend this mascara, and the packaging is so chic too! I love putting this on my vanity to show off! #cheriecreator #cheriepartner

Best eye primer for oily eyelids
I have super oily lids. In summer my makeup isn't lasting for a few hours. Using an eye primer is necessary for me every single day because it effectively helps my foundation, shades and eye line last longer. Otherwise I always get my eyeliner and eyeshade stain on the upper and lower eyelids. Before using this primer, I was fascinated by Urban Decay’s eyeshades. I have Naked Heat Eyeshadow Palette and Naked3 Eyeshadow Palette. Both of them are well pigmented but sometimes slide off around my eyes. when I applied the eyeshade I felt there was no smudging or creasing but I found my eyeshade wasn’t as pigmented as it in the morning. Then my friend recommended urban decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion to me. She said that the eye primer can cover the skin imperfections and make a flawless base to apply eyeshades. I have read many reviews on this primer and finally bought one to try. I was amazed by the primer. It makes my makeup stays on the place even after 8 hours without creasing. it makes my eyeshadows go on smoothly and vibrantly. The foundation is lightweight with a light nude color. It is very easy to apply with the wand. Although the product is a little bit pricey for me, only a small amount goes a long way. The foundations dry immediately on my lids and make my makeup blend smoothly, leaves my lid a beautiful matte finish. The foundation is also very easy to remove in the evening. I have using the Urban Decay Eyeshadow primer for a few years after my friend's recommendation. it is a kind of must-have process during my daily makeup routine, especially in the humid climate. the product creates a beautiful base for eyes makeup, including lines and eyeshade, and dramatically reduces shadow creasing. I highly recommend this product to women who have an oily lid or need long-lasting makeup.
