Are AHA toner pads worth the money?

As much as I enjoy AHAs I really could enjoy some ease of it's use with prepackaged toner pads soaked in AHA toners. While this sounds pretty useful and time saving, the specific products from some brands can be all different when it comes to the ingredients. These peel pads/ toner pads have nothing different or unique when it comes to formulations but the Ingredients or what the product/pads are soaked in is what counts. I am neutral about pre soaked toner pads but I know a lot of people love them. I tried these two from @elemis and @firstaidbeauty They're noy similar in performance and how they work as well as ingredients. I'll put my detailed review on both of them. 1. elemis Dynamic resurfacing facial pads ELEMIS - Dynamic Resurfacing Facial Pads
- Elemis is in my opinion an expensive brand. These facial pads are 59$ for 60 pads (approximately 2 months supply). I believe that's a large price when it comes to resurfacing or texture treatments/toners. 🏵️INGREDIENTS: ✨Patented Tri-Enzyme Technology ELEMIS - helps to effectively breakup the layer of dead cells that accumulates on the skins surface without compromising its delicate moisture barrier. ✨Lactic Acid - This naturally occurring (AHA) gently exfoliates ✨Probiotic Ferment Complex - Helps support the skin renewal process by helping to promote the physical shedding of dead skin cells. With good highlighted ingredients, this has added fragrance which is quite strong and I didn't enjoy it. 🏵️MY EXPERIENCE : It definitely exfoliates skin but in a much gentler way. It has Lactic acid a larger molecular size in AHAs which won't penetrate on deeper level of skin and is less irritating. It does a decent job of exfoliating hence the reduction in texture and hyperpigmentation. Although, the added fragrance put me off. I enjoy many of elemis products but this one surprisingly wasn't the best. 2. @firstaidbeauty Facial radiance padsFIRST AID BEAUTY - Facial Radiance Pads
- This one in comparison to the elemis one was better in packaging. It has pads soaked up pretty well and I found them juicier than elemis pads. These radiance pads don't have added fragrance which is a win. 🏵️ INGREDIENTS: ✨Glycolic and Lactic Acids ✨Lemon Peel: A natural extract that helps brighten skin's appearance. ✨Indian Gooseberry: A natural extract that helps tone skin. 🏵️MY EXPERIENCE : This has both Glycolic and lactic acid but the percentages are not given on both of the products' packaging. I found these to be a little too harsh for me. I tend to tolerate 7 - 10% Glycolic acid as well as instant peeling solutions, but this product irritated my skin. I found these to be working great for exfoliation but it sadly broke me out. I found them to be working better when I used them twice a week. Overall, I am not a huge fan of peeling/radiance pads. I really liked Dr.Dennis Gross Alpha Beta peel pads but these two were not as impressive in performance and experience.

MalloryI have the FAB ones but I’ve yet to use them :/ Honestly I might give them away. I’m not a fan of the lemon peel they put in it

Beautycation_by_shruti@Mallory totally! I'm not a fan either. I rather prefer pure AHAs or PHAs than these concoctions they provide. 👍

Luxury resurfacing facial pads
When I use these my face looks much brighter . Still gentle enough for sensitive skin people to use . Within one use you should see a difference . Lactic Acid: A mild AHA (Alpha Hydroxy Acid) effective at retexturing the skin's surface while still being gentle and hydrating. It also acts as a humectant, drawing in moisture from the environment, like a magnet. Lactic acid helps to keep the skin moisturized and feeling less dry. When you use lactic acid regularly, it can also improve signs of aging. It stimulates collagen renewal and can firm your skin. Hyperpigmentation (sun spots or age spots) fade and fine lines and wrinkles soften and smooth out. ELEMIS - Dynamic Resurfacing Facial Pads $59
My Thoughts on LUXURY SKINCARE 💸✨ Worth it? p.2
Check out part 1 if you haven’t already! Elemis. I previously worked at a PR firm that represented the brand so I got a lot of free product to try but this is 100% my opinion. - ELEMIS - Superfood Facial Oil I love this facial oil- it locks in all of the products I used before without slipping around everywhere. It’s also deeply nourishing! - ELEMIS - Pro-Collagen Marine Cream Ultra-Rich I actually really like this super moisturizing face cream! It’s a little more emollient and thick compared to their original Pro-Collagen Marine Cream but still something I can use, with my combination skin. - ELEMIS - Pro-Collagen Oxygenating Night Cream I liked this formula but I’m not sure I see much of a difference in result from this compared to their original Pro-Collagen Marine Cream. The texture is a little more pudding and jelly like which I don’t mind but I’d rather just get their other face creams. - ELEMIS - Peptide4 Adaptive Day Cream This is a great formula for oilier/combination skin because it’s not a cream that leaves your skin dewy. It has more of a satin matte finish while still hydrating and moisturizing the skin with peptides. - ELEMIS - Peptide4 Plumping Pillow Facial I don’t really like this product because I just don’t find it does much for my skin. It’s a super lightweight gel texture but my skin doesn’t look and feel extra plumped when I wake up. I’d rather just use their Ultra-Rich Pro-Collagen Marine Cream. - ELEMIS - Ultra Smart Pro-Collagen Eye Treatment Duo This is crazy expensive and meant for anti-aging so I gave this set to my mom and she loves it. There’s a Day Cream and Night Balm duo with a metal rollerball like tool for application. She says it’s great for de-puffing and is super moisturizing. - ELEMIS - Dynamic Resurfacing Facial Pads I love these facial pads!!! They’re physically gentle on the skin but the ingredients help to exfoliate the skin without any irritation. Whenever I have a bit of texture, I’ll swipe these on before applying my other face products and they help tremendously!

Facial exfoliation pads
First, follow me for more content like this 💖😘. I know I’ve been doing a lot of First Aid Beauty products and you guys are probably getting sick of me😭😭. But I got a value kit and I wanted to get through and have an opinion on each product before I told you guys about them. Today’s product is the Facial Radiance Pads. These pads are formulated with lactic acid, glycolic acid, lemon peel, and Indian gooseberry. Lactic and glycolic acid are AHA’s that helps brighten and exfoliate the skin and help improve the texture. The lemon peel doesn’t really sit right with me because I read that lemon for the skin is insanely bad but I guess that’s only if you’re using an actually lemon on your skin. Im still kinda iffy with the fact that it’s an ingredient. I also think it’s pretty wasteful to have presoaked pads only because it’s just as bad as using single use cotton rounds in my opinion. I also found myself, in the beginning, using more than one at a time because I wasn’t really paying attention when i was picking them out the jar. According to FAB these pads are great for everyday use, and can even be used on sensitive skin. I do notice that my skin has gotten brighter. This has to be my least favorite out of their products. They do sting a little at first but other than that it’s fine. These help with dullness, pores, uneven skin tone and uneven texture. Will I be repurchasing this product? No, but I’m glad i got to try them. They are good for when you’re in a hurry or feeling lazy but i don’t know, i think the bad outweigh the good with this one. Try it for yourself to see if you like it but it might just be a no for me. They come with 60 pads for $34 and 28 pads for $17. I hope this helps🥺💕FIRST AID BEAUTY - Facial Radiance Pads
Skincare for Exercising
I want to share a few tips I use for skincare while exercising. I love running, especially outdoors. It’s important to to modify your skincare routine on work-out days to continue to care for your skin. 1. Start with a clean, make-up free face While you are working out, you want your skin to be able to breath. You don’t want your make-up to settle into your pores. This is easiest when you are working out first thing in the morning. I recommend: Cleanse, moisturizer, spf Exercising with a make-up free face can be more of a challenge if you are trying to fit in a work-out on lunch break or after work.I rarely use face wipes, but this is when I use them. A face wipe to remove make-up, and spf. CLINIQUE - Take the Day Off Micellar Cleansing Wipes for Face & Eyes 2. Always use Sunscreen! This is basic skincare rule that can’t be skipped while working out, especially if outside. I have a separate sport sunscreen for exercising that is waterproof and longer lasting. I recommend: Supergoop! - Play Everyday Lotion SPF 30 with Sunflower Extract COOLA - Suncare Sport Sunscreen Spray Broad Spectrum SPF 30 Bonus points if you wear a hat if exercising outdoors! 3. Wash your face right after working out This seems like a given, but it is important to remove sweat residue and bacteria immediately after working out. If you are not home face wipes can come in handy again. Also, toner pads can help remove excess dirt & oil. I recommend: FIRST AID BEAUTY - Facial Radiance Pads It’s also helpful to cool skin after your work out to prevent breaking of blood vessels. Splash your face with cool water and wash with a wash cloth. Your skin is also sensitive after working out, so I do a simple paired down routine. No exfoliating, AHAs, or serums with actives. A good calming moisturizer that can help with redness is good to use on these days. I love: FIRST AID BEAUTY - FAB Pharma Arnica Relief & Rescue Mask My routine post work out is: Cleanse, toner, hyaluronic acid serum, moisturizer, (spf if daytime) Hope that helped!

Plant Based Exfoliation 🌱
Plant Based Exfoliation 🌱
Exfoliation is one of my favorite steps in skincare so I was excited when Primera gifted me their Mild Facial Peeling Gel! What is exfoliation? In short, exfoliation is the removal of dead skin cells from the surface of your skin - this can be achieved using several different methods (chemical, physical granular substance, or a skincare tool). Did you know that your skin naturally sheds to make room for new skin cells every 30 days or so? ❣️ This unique gel-textured formula effectively removes dry, dull surface cells without being abrasive or harsh on the skin. Removing the dry, dull surface skin cells leaves you with soft, renewed & hydrated skin! This product will help improve dark spots, pores, dryness & dullness / uneven texture. This is best suited for those with normal, dry, combination or oily skin types - as I always recommend; if you have sensitive skin, test on a small spot on your face first! ❣️ Primera takes pride in being a clean beauty Korean brand that focuses on developing formulas that are plant based, pure, potent, and planet friendly! Primera’s exfoliator formula is unique and innovative as it used plant based key ingredients to do the work: broccoli sprout extract to help clarify the skin & neem leaf extract to help with calming the skin. 💚 Available online on Primera’s website and at Sephora for $38! primera - Mild Facial Peeling Gel

The HERBIVORE - Prism 20% AHA + 5% BHA Exfoliating Glow Facial is a chemical exfoliant facial mask. The consistency of this mask is gel-like and it contains no fragrance or dyes. This is a very powerful mask, as 20% AHA is an amount that should be built up to and not immediately used as a novice. When using the mask, a thin layer must be applied to clean skin and left on for no more than 20 minutes (no more than 10 mins for sensitive skin types). A warm tingling sensation is normal, if you feel any burning or pain remove immediately with warm water. This product must be removed in its entirety with warm water, and can only be used for a max of 1 or 2 times a week due to its potency. You should not follow up with any product that contains Hydroxy acids or acne treatment, a simple basic moisturizer should be used if needed. After using this facial mask I do notice that my skin appears brighter, and in the following days any texture has been reduced. This retails for $58 at Sephora (was sent to me as a gift). The dr. brandt - Microdermabrasion Age-Defying Exfoliator With a Heart is also a chemical exfoliant facial product however, this product in addition to AHAs contains “professional grade” exfoliating crystals in order to assist with the removal of dead skin. This is an unnecessary addition to the product. One thing that I have learned in my research of skin care is that physical and chemical exfoliation should not be used together. Although the company claims that the crystals are professional grade, physical exfoliants are known to cause micro tears in the skin that will lead to long term damage. Before finding this out, I found this product very harsh on my skin even though I only used it once a week. After discovering this though, I stopped using the dr Brandt product altogether. This retails for $79 at Sephora (I received it as part of a boxycharm).

Broke out the 2nd day I used this!

I’d rather get coal than this serum. This product is marketed as a vitamin C and AHA serum that’s gentle enough to use on a daily basis. Given that it contains Vitamin C this serum is meant to brighten your skin and the AHA’s target texture and create a smoother complexion. This product therefore targets dullness and uneven texture. It has a thick and sticky consistency but it is a bit runny at the same time. Overall, this product did not do it for me, and my skin just didn’t react well to it. I was super excited to use this serum because I love chemical exfoliants because of the glow and evenness of texture they give my skin. I was also looking for a good vitamin C product for my skin since my sensitive skin typically breaks out with vitamin C products and this one was no exception! By the second day I used this my skin began to break out all over with whiteheads on my cheeks and chin (which happens to me with a lot of vitamin C products). Therefore I don’t like this product for that personal reason. However, if you’re somebody who doesn’t have any issues with vitamin C or don’t have a particularly sensitive skin type then this product could possibly work for you and I would only recommend it based on the skin type you may have. However, solely based on the reaction it gave my skin I don’t think it’s worth the expensive price.

Review: Ren glycolic lactic ra
Review: Ren glycolic lactic radiance renewal mask . 🧡 This mask is filled to the top with fruit acids from passion fruit, lemon, grapes and pineapple, and there is also lactic acid and papaya enzyme from papaya for renewal, improving relief and softening acne spots, removing dead cells, and brighten complexion. . 🧡 It is intended for all skin types, except sensitive, and the manufacturer recommends applying it no more than 1 time per week. I use it few times a week with no negative reactions. . 🧡 Consistency is amazing, almost edible texture, gel-honey. And this “honey” smells like citrus jam (my baby boy ate it, haha). . 🧡 Effect: I put a mask on for 15-20 min. Immediately after application, it gives a feeling of relaxation, after a few minutes it begins to tingle a bit. But at the same time the skin does not redden or burn. After rinsing it off (I do it with a washcloth) the skin is smooth, even and radiant. . 🧡 It doesn’t cleanse pores very deeply (so I like to use in 3-step masking ritual as a first step before clay mask). It peels off my skin gently and carefully, this is especially evident with constant use - the skin becomes even and bright.
