How I cleared my Acne - My AM and PM routine

Beautycation_by_shruti
Swipe left !! 🔙 So, my Hormonal acne is almost cleared up and I'm so excited to share with you how I cleared my acne as well as what products worked amazing for that! As shown in pictures six months back I had painful, bleeding cystic acne that flared up because of PCOS (Poly-Cystic Ovarian Syndrome). I managed to leave them at bay now, leaving me focused on just the acne scars which are also faded a lot! I believe whoever has hormonal acne, or breakouts in general this routine will for you! So here's my morning and nighttime routine for past six months ( some products are added recently but they're helping me in maintaining my skin Acne-free) AM - @fresh Soy cleanserfresh - Soy Makeup Removing Face Wash
@innisfree Panthenol 10 tonerinnisfree - Truecare Panthenol 10 Moisture Skin

Two nights in a week (replacing @curology formula) - @sundayriley A+ Retinoid serum / @theordinary Granactive retinoid 2% emulsionSUNDAY RILEY - A+ High-Dose Retinol Serum
This is my detailed routine and I really want to root for Azaleic acid as an ingredient as it helped me with my acne as well as (PIH)dark spots at the same time. Azaleic acid is such a great all rounder and no brainer when it comes to treating Acne and lightening/fading dark spots. Quick overlook of it's benefits- - Anti-microbial (hence kills acne causing bacteria) - Anti-inflammatory (reduces redness and look of blemishes) -Gently exfoliates skin (Unlike potent AHA but gives similar exfoliation) - Reduces skin texture and textural irregularities - Lightens and brightens dark spots, PIH, melasma by slowing down melanin production - Works well with almost all actives including AHA/BHA, Vitamin C, Retinols - Isn't photosensitive meaning you can use it in the morning as well as at night. Which product/ingredient you like the most? ⭐

night night routine
My night time skin care roitine is a ritual. It's my "It's time to decompress, remove the day and transition to a relaxing evening" time. I start by using my micellar water and baby washcloth and remove me eye and facial make. Then, I wash my face with my Cetaphil face wash. After patting my face dry, I pat on some Revolution Bakuchiol Serum. Then I move on to the Revolution Hyaluronic Acid. After that, I get a drop of Revolution Targeted Under Eye Serum with Caffeine and Hyaluronic Acid and tap it under my eyes. Then I use Revolution Collagen Skin Firming Solution on my face. After that it's Revolution Niacinamide Blemish Refining and Moisturizing Serum. Then, I moisturize some more with CeraVe PM Ultra Moisturizing Lotion and finish off with a sample of Sunday Riley High Dose Rentinoid Serum. After that, I am finally ready to lay down for the evening and go to bed. Final thought, you probably don't need a complicated skin routine at night. and certainly, have a less complicated one on standby for those nights when you just can barely put one foot in front of the other. As my mom used to say....night, night, don't let the bed bugs bite. GARNIER - Micellar Water Facial Cleanser Sensitive Skin I love, love, love this stuff! it's gentle on my skin. It takes off the toughest mascara without irritating my eyes. I use it as a pre cleanser before washing my face. Cetaphil - Daily Facial Cleanser While I use this every night, I am only using it until I finish the bottle. I am not crazy about the scent and there is a slight sting on my cheeks when I first lather the product on my skin and I am not fond of that feeling. REVOLUTION - 2% Hyaluronic Acid Serum REVOLUTION - Targeted Under Eye Serum 5% Caffeine REVOLUTION - 15% Niacinamide Serum REVOLUTION - Skin Firming Solution Stabilised Active Collagen Serum I've enjoyed all of the products I purchased from Revolution, they will all be empties. I am going to try The Ordinary next but the price comparison is about the same. DIFFERIN - Dark Spot Correcting Serum I haven't noticed a bit of difference since using this. how long do you have to you this before you notice your spots lightening?SUNDAY RILEY - A+ High-Dose Retinol Serum

💙 Powerful but Gentle Retinol! 💙
Follow my skincare Instagram @skincare_by_reba for more content! 🥰 💙 Let’s talk 𝐑𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐨𝐥 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐮𝐦𝐬! 💙⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ 𝗪𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭? This is SUNDAY RILEY - A+ High-Dose Retinol Serum! SR’s site describes it as an “advanced-strength retinoid serum that delivers a 6.5% solution of stabilized retinoid blends and botanical, retinol-alternative extracts into the skin.” See my IG post for the breakdown of the retinoid blend & other key ingredients! ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ 𝐌𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬: I know you’re all probably waiting for me to say I don’t love a SR product, but I’m sorry...𝘐 𝘧𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘵𝘰𝘰 🥰 after using a Pixi retinol serum for a couple months and then switching to Luna (see my review in an earlier post!), I finally added this higher percentage of retinol to my routine in September. I think it was a HUGE contributor to the amazing results I saw in just over 2 weeks after switching to an almost entirely SR routine (scroll way back in my feed to see my before/after for that!). Every morning after I use this I wake up to super soft, even-toned skin. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ If you’re new to a higher dose retinoid, try layering a hydrating oil first for a more gentle experience with A+. Start with two nights on, two nights off and build from there. Once your skin has adjusted, you can use A+ nightly (if desired), and I like to layer Luna on top for a bonus dose of retinol goodness! This serum, like all SR products, plays very well with others in the line. I layer A+, Luna, and Good Genes on many nights and have never had an issue! Of course, I have very tolerant skin so make sure you do what works best for 𝘺𝘰𝘶!⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ 𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐞: The price is steep with this one, as it is with a lot of high-quality products. It’s $85/1oz or $122/1.7oz. I just finished up my 1oz bottle that I bought in mid-September, so it lasted me about 3.5 months with usage of 4-5 nights/week. I’ve cut back on that recently as I’m trying to rotate more products into my evening routine (like Vitamin C), and I used a solid 1.5-2 pumps with every use. If you just use 1 pump and less frequently, it’ll last you way longer! I just received my 1.7oz (just in time!) which I bought in the Power of Three kit — great savings that way on 3 serums I use all the time! ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ 𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵’𝘴 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘧𝘢𝘷𝘰𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘦 𝘩𝘪𝘨𝘩-𝘥𝘰𝘴𝘦 𝘳𝘦𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘰𝘭?

Sunday Riley Empties!
I freaking love this brand! Their marketing, packaging, and products continue to impress me as I try new things. SUNDAY RILEY - C.E.O. Glow Vitamin C + Turmeric Face Oil probably the least favorite product I’ve tried from Sunday Riley. I mainly just didn’t feel like it sunk into my skin, and left me oily, which is something I definitely don’t want in the mornings when I am applying vitamin C. SUNDAY RILEY - Ceramic Slip Cleanser just meh. Don’t love the consistency or color (like a murky gray color??) it was fine as a cleanser, but I didn’t find anything special about it. SUNDAY RILEY - Ice Ceramide Moisturizing Cream this stuff is good, just a little heavier than I tend to use. I know ceramides are great for retaining skin moisture, but since my skin leans oily, it just was a bit much for me! I like the consistency and clean feel though! SUNDAY RILEY - C.E.O. Vitamin C Rich Hydration Cream I love this stuff!!! Favorite vitamin c product I’ve tried so far. It works great as a morning moisturizer in the morning, and sinks in to my skin great as a base for my makeup!! Big fan. SUNDAY RILEY - Good Genes All in One Lactic Acid Treatment there’s nothing I can say about this stuff that hasn’t already been said by everyone else. I truly saw a difference in pores, brightness, and just general appearance of my skin quickly after beginning to use this. Super happy with it. SUNDAY RILEY - Luna Sleeping Night Oil amazing. I love this as an intro to retinol, and it has had no negative effects since it’s so gentle! I love the smell, the blue color, and will continue to buy this as long as they will sell it to me!

Addition to Winter ❄️ Skincare Routine 🍊
Hey there! I hope you’re having a great week so far. I know that the last few weeks have been crazy in the US 🇺🇸 at least due to the election and everything. I received the Sunday Riley CEO Vitamin C Hydration Cream on my Boxy premium back in August. SUNDAY RILEY - C.E.O. Vitamin C Rich Hydration Cream It was still quite hot in California around that time with multiple heat waves and decided to take this off my routine. It made my face super oily despite having dry skin. However, it started getting cold around mid-October and that’s when I added this to my morning routine. This has a high potency of Vitamin C and claims to fight visible signs of aging while helping with dryness. This is perfect for the colder months because it is thick and fixes my dry patches quickly. It also feels like butter on skin. My skin feels quickly moisturized and prepped in the morning. I also LOVE how this smells. It smells like freshly squeezed orange juice. I use this right after I apply my Vitamin C serum from Drunk Elephant. I don’t use this at night because I want to avoid mixing vitamin C with AHA/BHA and glycolic acid. I use those ingredients on my night time routines So far this made a huge difference on my skin. Not only it helps with moisturizing, but it makes my skin glow for hours. This item is a bit pricey however. It retails for $65 USD. Though pricey, I will definitely re-purchase. What additions have you made to your winter skincare routine? Xoxo, Francesca 💋

Products that helped my acne
I’ve struggled with acne since 7th grade (I’m 20 now). I have used a lot of products and there are a handful I want to share that have really helped me get closer to my clear skin goal. PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator this is by far the best product I’ve ever used. My skin looks smoother and my acne has subsided tremendously. I can’t get enough of this. (I use it twice a week, working up to three). I really do believe this product is essential for clearer skin! CeraVe - Daily Moisturizing Lotion For Normal To Dry Skin this moisturizer has been my go to for about 5 years. It always keeps my skin hydrated and really helped when I was on acne prescriptions because my skin would always get really dry. Curology - Curology formula I have a whole post dedicated to this, but it really did help me a lot. I like having dermatologist prescriptions over other treatments. So, this was a great option for me and worked wonders! CeraVe - Hydrating Face Cleanser For Normal To Dry Skin I used to use the harshest face washed out there and strip my skin completely. This cleanser really helped me repair my moisture barrier and was gentle. My skin started looking really good after about 12 uses of this. The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% this stuff is a miracle in a bottle!! My face is way less sensitive and my oils are under control. The redness from my acne subsides with the help of this product and I find it to help my acne heal and become smaller faster. Kate Somerville - EradiKate Acne Treatment this treatment really helped me when I had minimal breakouts. This dried out my pimples over night and helped them go away faster. This was a really nice treatment and I plan on using it again when my face is clearer and I no longer feel the need to continue curology!!

How I Cleared My Acne in 3 MONTHS!!!
I‘ve struggled with cystic hormonal acne for years, but when I was diagnosed with breast cancer this summer, I didn’t imagine I’d experience the worst breakout of my 27 years of life... I was so overwhelmed and stressed, that I honestly forgot all about my skincare until it looked like this! And just like breast cancer, cystic acne hurts physically and mentally, but I had to regain control. I couldn’t control what was happening to me, but I could refocus, change my perspective, and restart my skincare routine 😅 Then I was gifted this medically personalized product to try and this is was my three month progress! 👏🏼✨ It’s different for everyone, but I noticed a difference in my skin after 4 weeks of consistent use. I’d say, it’s definitely worth a try, so I’ll leave a link to a 1-month trial for $4.95! http://curolo.gy/RebeccaSantos (No, I don’t get commission or any form of payment for this post or if you use my link.) Glowy skin!!!!
I decided to try this toner out and it is absolutely amazing. The purpose of this toner is to soothe and hydrate Some ingredients that stood out to me is the propolis extract, honey and hyaluronic acid. We all love hyaluronic acid. It’s alcohol free and safe for sensitive skin. My thoughts!!! I’ve been using this for a couple of weeks and I used it in my am routine. It preps my skin for my serums. My skin definitely feels hydrated once I apply it. I got this Sephora’s for $22 but a little goes a long way. It looks like milk and very light weight. FIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair Wild Oat Hydrating Toner TULA SKINCARE - Daily Sunscreen Gel Broad Spectrum SPF 30 this sunscreen definitely gives me that dewy glow after applying. It doesn’t leave no white cast, it absorb right onto my skin. I actually tried this out because of @d.Bennett and I’m actually I did. It has Uav+.uvb protection it spf 30. It has gel like consistency. Ingredients: probiotics which hydrates n prevent water loss Pineapple +papaya which helps even skin tone. Wild butterfly ginger root which protects from blue light. I think this is a pretty good sunscreen I’ve been using it for a while. Got it from ulta for $36 definitely will be repurchasing.

Skin Update ✨✨
Okay this is a totally non filtered sun photo of my skin. Still working on minor texture this is due to my new skin routine (I posted about my morning and will post my night). I try and show my skin with new routines and products I use because I get so many ! The number one thing I will say is be consistent! I saw a post from @MelaninSkinCareAddict(great post you should go check it out) and I loved it and it inspired me to show results from some advice she saw. My last skin update was 12/22 which I showed a unfiltered close up of my skin and the breakout I had endure out of the states! I will say for texture, hyperpigmentation, and acne you need: effective vitamin C serum- should have vitamin E (tocopherol), hyaluronic acid, and Ferulic acid insta natural - Vitamin C Serum Mad Hippie - Vitamin C Serum retinol- DIFFERIN - DIFFERIN Acne Treatment Gel is my first go to, but now I use The Ordinary - Retinol 0.5% in Squalane GLOW RECIPE - Avocado Melt Retinol Sleeping Face Mask (I use this on nights I don’t use The Ordinary retinol oil .. 2xs a week) cleanser made for you skin: should be tailored and effective my current faves: Murad - AHA/BHA Exfoliating Cleanser (2x week) COSRX - Low PH Good Morning Gel Cleanser (only when I oil cleanse) (3xs a weeks when I wear my night mask) PEACH & LILY - Power Calm Hydrating Gel Cleanser (mostly for nights) toner: a great toner will be your friend! This is important for removing dirts and oils. If you wear makeup this is a necessity. PAULA'S CHOICE - Enriched Calming Toner Murad - Clarifying Toner innisfree - Jeju Lava Seawater Lotion sunscreen: at least spf30 TULA SKINCARE - Daily Sunscreen Gel Broad Spectrum SPF 30 ELEMIS - Daily Defence Shield SPF30 moisturizer: a great moisturizer is your friend! So my faves fresh - Lotus Anti-Aging Night Moisturizer at night SUNDAY RILEY - Tidal Brightening Enzyme Water Cream during the day for hyperpigmentation before sunscreen ✨✨✨✨ Other things I love that have helped COSRX - Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence I use this day and night after my toner. If you neee hydration this is my current go to! SUNDAY RILEY - U.F.O. Acne Treatment Face Oil I now use this on days I don’t use my vitamin C in the morning. PEACH & LILY - Glass Skin Refining Serum This has replaced my niacinamide from The Ordinary. If you want glass skin use this consistently! CLARISMA - Namaste Glow Energizing Face Mask I use this as my daily face mask once a week. I will be posting my detailed night routine soon as I’m redoing my entire on IG 🥰🥰

Hyaluronic Acid Essence!
Now selling at Target!! Essence preps skin up for absorption and after this I don’t need another serum I just go straight to moisturizer. Do not need toner when I have this. NATURIUM - Hyaluronic Acid Essence 2% It plumps, hydrates and improves skin appearance. I have been pairing this up with my routine with Differin’s adapalene.

Naturium: Affordable, Well-Rounded Formulas!
Naturium marries biologically-optimal ingredients with aesthetic, minimalist packaging. They’re a step above The Ordinary minimalism while forgoing random filler ingredients like fragrance and essential oils, managing to be both affordable and well-rounded! • NATURIUM - Quadruple Hyaluronic Acid Serum 5% A thin, silky serum that absorbs quickly. It’s loaded with humectants, emollients, and a few antioxidants, making it deeply hydrating. I use it mainly to dilute other products for my sensitive skin, but dehydrated skin would looovee this for twice daily use. Repurchase? No, I tend to use multiple serums, so I don’t need a specifically hydrating one. • NATURIUM - BHA Liquid Exfoliant 2% Encapsulated salicylic acid + humectants = a hydrating exfoliant that helps with pore size and mild acne. Its lightweight texture is perfect for any skin type, except sensitive skin which may have issues with its citrus extracts. Repurchase? No, for fear of my eczema flaring with long-term use 🙈 • NATURIUM - Hyaluronic Acid Essence 2% Watery? Yup. Hydrating? Very. Sticky? Not at all! Apply to damp skin for instant hydration- I plan to put mine in a spray bottle soon! I do think the humectant-packed formula would be too simple if it wasn’t such a steal at $16 for 170mL. Plus, it does include soothing beta-glucan, making it perfect for any skin type. Repurchase? Probably not, as I use a lot of hydrating serums. • NATURIUM - Niacinamide Gel Cream 5% This gel is thicc, thanks to a few silicones and other polymers. It includes antioxidants and humectants to complement the star- niacinamide! B3 is popular for controlling sebum production, minimizing pore appearance, reducing acne, and its antioxidant status. This gel-cream is great for normal, oily, and acne prone skin! I mix it with oil for my drier skin. Repurchase? Yes! It’s perfect for layering over my serums in summer. • *NATURIUM - Intense Overnight Sleeping Cream Thick, bouncy, and spreadable, its humectants, emollients, lipids, and antioxidant extracts leave skin soft and seal in hydration without clogging my pores. Dry skin, layer it over a lightweight moisturizer for plump skin by AM. Oily skin, apply right on top of serums for satin skin when you wake up! Repurchase? Yes! This is such a winter staple for me now, it performs like a balm, but with a better texture. • *NATURIUM - Plant Ceramide Rich Moisture Cream Emollients, humectants, ceramides, fatty acids, antioxidants... This buttery cream is a great winter moisturizer or PM moisturizer for normal and combo skin, or AM + PM for dry skin. Oily skin, I’d avoid its rich formula. Repurchase? If I didn’t have a million moisturizers to test and review, yes! This is affordable and a lovely PM moisturizer. Want To Try: Niacinamide Skin Mist 2% Naked, Vitamin C Complex, Tranexamic Topical Acid 5% *Gifted

Overhyped products; didn’t see a difference
I’ve used these products consistently over the period of a couple months (not necessarily in combination with each other). I haven’t noticed a difference and realize I don’t particularly love the feel of serums and oils. Here’s my review of each product individually and one ordinary product that I do feel like makes a difference. PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator I was super excited to try and love this product and was mainly wanting help with blackheads on my nose. I haven’t noticed a difference even when using the product twice a day for a couple months. The product is very oily and it’s easy to get all over the bottle. Not a toner that can be used without a cotton pad The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 I don’t love the textures of these products and am disappointed not seeing a difference after using consistently and over half the bottle is gone. dear, klairs - Freshly Juiced Vitamin C Drop This product is very oily. I want to include vitamin C in my skincare routine but just didn’t enjoy this particular one. e.l.f. - Happy Hydration Cream I love all of elf’s products and bought this thinking I would love it. It leaves a white cast and I don’t like the feel when I put this moisturizer on, because of this I have been using it just at night I order to not waste the product. Elf has much better products than this one for sure! One product I do like: The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution I’ve started using this once a week and believe it is helping with my blackheads. It is drying and I have sensitive skin so if you’re like me I would suggest only once a week for 8 min and consider a hydrating mask afterwards.

If I could give 10 stars.... I would
The Ordinary has been a hit or miss brand for me. I love the packaging and the prices, but some products haven’t worked for me like I thought they would. Someone recommended to me the Lactic Acid for my dark spots, but it made my skin 10x worse. Ever since then, I’d been struggling with small acne spots all over my cheeks and forehead. I even tried switching to a silk pillowcase, and that still didn’t make a difference. I decided to give the Niacinamide + Zinc a try after watching a TikTok about it. I did it only once a day right before bed because I was scared it would dry my skin out, but no drying or miracle happened with my skin. After about 3 weeks, I switched to twice a day just like the instructions said, and by the grace of God it worked! My skin has been effortlessly beautiful lately and I swear by this product now. It’s my holy grail. Some of my dark spots have been disappearing as well I recommend this product to anyone who struggles with annoying little acne spots and dark spots! *The first two pictures are the before, the last two pictures are the after

A quick Cheat guide to choosing the right Acid ✨
I find this Flowchart to be a cheat guide to start with your Chemical exfoliation routin. 😊✨ Exfoliation is one of the steps in your skin care routine that can elevate your current routine from good to great. So often I find my skin starting to feel a little bit dull, and I realize that I have been leaving out exfoliation. When I wake up after a night that I have applied a chemical exfoliant, (I really like The Ordinary’s 7% Glycolic Acid, Sunday Riley's Good Genes) The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution SUNDAY RILEY - Good Genes All in One Lactic Acid Treatment I notice my skin has a much more rested and fresh look. Also, my skin has that 'Glass skin' look and feel. My textural irregularities get even and my skin tone is evened out! Some of the skin concerns that exfoliation is great for targeting include: 🌻Enlarged pores 🌻Uneven skin tone/Hyperpigmentation 🌻Rough skin texture 🌻Fine lines So… back to the big question: ✨What does exfoliate mean? Skin is consistently renewing its cells, by shedding its surface layer. When dead skin cells are flushed away and a fresh layer of cells comes to the surface, the new layer is younger and smoother in appearance. This process is frequent in younger skin, however slows with age. The process of exfoliating is advancing the process of removing dead skin cells and revealing the fresh new layer of healthy skin either physically or chemically. Physical exfoliators are granular, using natural beads or crystals that are rubbed on the skin, sloughing away the dead cells on the top layer of skin. Chemical exfoliants work by targeting the bonds between cells, breaking these bonds, allowing the dead skin cells to break away. Chemical exfoliation is able to penetrate deeper into the skin, targeting congestion that is associated with clogged pores leading to acne. In short exfoliation simply means to shed away dead skin cells with the help of a product. Want to know which exfoliating acids are best for your skin? Follow through the flowchart in Image above to figure out which is best for you! Here are some options/products I love and you can choose from: The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution SUNDAY RILEY - Good Genes All in One Lactic Acid Treatment The Ordinary - Mandelic Acid 10% + HA NATURIUM - BHA Liquid Exfoliant 2% The Ordinary - Salicylic Acid 2% Masque THE inkey LIST - Polyhydroxy Acid (PHA) Gentle Exfoliating Toner TULA SKINCARE - Pro-Glycolic 10% Resurfacing Toner Allies of Skin - Mandelic Pigmentation Corrector Night Serum

Do you use AHAs in the morning?? I use these ✨
I use these AHA (Glycolic acid) products during the day! There are some people who don't like to or they say you can't use AHAs during the day. Well, that's a myth. You definitely can use AHAs in the morning, the only key to protect the skin regardless of time is SPF. So, you can use a good broad spectrum sunscreen throughout the day to protect the skin and you'll be good to apply Glycolic acid during the day. This notion comes from some studies that show that AHAs make our skin be hughly photosensitive and can the structure of our DNA. It's not because you have certain acids on your face during the day and they react with sunlight and cause us damage. It is mainly because it thins out the Stratum Corneum and that causes photosensitivity and it happens even if you put your AHAs at night. Because the photosensitivity effect lasts for about a week after you've applied your acids. So the bottom line is you can get sunburn or photosensitivity no matter when you use chemical exfoliants whether at night or in the morning, just make sure you apply a good sunscreen which should be used anyway. I use AHAs or chemical exfoliants during the day as I use my retinols or retinoids at night and sometimes I use my Acne treatments at night. I am using these two currently in the morning and I chose these only because they're very gentle on skin and don't irritate it. The first one is @tula pro-glycolic 10% resurfacing toner. TULA SKINCARE - Pro-Glycolic 10% Resurfacing Toner It is a gentle gel serum toner that has : ✨Pro-Glycolic Complex proprietary blend of 100% natural lactobacillus probiotics and 10% glycolic acid helps tone and exfoliate skin and removes excess oil and debris. ✨Natural Mushroom + Beet Extract is 400X more hydrating than hyaluronic acid alone. ✨Turmeric Extract is a powerful antioxidant that helps reduce signs of inflammation. ✨Blueberry Extract natural anti-oxidant helps to fight free radical damage. This toner is quite gentle compared to other Glycolic acid toners I've used and this can be layered with my other actives and hydrating products on top of it. The second is @firstaidbeauty Facial Radiance pads. FIRST AID BEAUTY - Facial Radiance Pads These are very gentle and easy to use. Because they're in pads form I get to layer my thick toners and serums after I use these. Favorite cleansers & current haircare!
CeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Antioxidant Cleanser fresh - Soy Makeup Removing Face Wash OLAPLEX - No. 3 Hair Perfector Briogeo - Don't Despair, Repair! Honey Moisture Deep Conditioning Mask The Innate life Shampoo&Conditioner ( was not linked :( ) Hey guys! I haven’t done a post in a while. I hope you are all doing well. I can’t believe it’s already December! Wow! I live in Minnesota and for ONCE there still has not been any snow which makes me really sad because it’s not December without snow :(. However it still has been very cold and I’ve currently have added some new products into my self-care routine! First picture- all 3 of those cleansers I have loved and recommend to other loved ones! I get a lot of people asking me what cleanser I use and I always give them those 3 options because they have been the ones to work best for my oily/combo skin! I recently finished the Fresh soy wash and am currently finishing up the YTTP one! The first cleanser I have ever tried has been Cerave and I swear by it so much! I understand not everything works for everyone but these 3 cleansers would definitely be my top best 3! Second picture- The Innate Life natural shampoo and conditioner, This is the first natural shampoo and conditioner brand I have ever used and I have got to say it works amazing for my hair! I love how clarifying yet non stripping the shampoo is, the conditioner is definitely a thin and lightweight consistency but has hydrated my hair very well! I have long thick curly hair and I try my best to stay away from products that contain bad chemicals and ingredients for my hair. I love this brand and will continue to purchase it for my hair. I have never done an in depth haircare routine for my hair so if you are interested let me know in the comments so I can go in depth in what products I use (: ! Third picture- Olaplex No. 3& Briogeo honey hair mask When I tell you how excited I got when Briogeo brought back their honey hair mask! I have never clicked so fast to order something EVER! I SWEAR by this mask. My hair is very dry thick curly low porosity hair and this stuff makes my hair soooo soft and it smells AMAZING! I love it so much, I love briogeo as a whole brand and I love how they formulate their products without sulphates & silicones ( I do not follow CG method but I prefer no sulphates!). I was so happy to order both olaplex No. 3 and the hair mask set and used together will make your hair feel & smell so good! (Like I said I can make an entire post about my haircare regimen if you are interested) Thank you so much for reading ! ❤️

My curology experience
There have been many mixed reviews on curology. From what I have seen, many people claim curology made their skin worse when it actually was just in the purging phase. When you start a new skincare product, your skin may purge or break out more than usual. This is the product pushing everything from below the skin surface to the top to get rid of it. So, from what I have seen, I really do think many have not understood purging and gave up on curology right away. However, some people did in fact have bad reactions/ experiences. Everyone’s skin is different, but I wanted to share my story! The pictures above are my before and what my skin looks like now! My experience: I did purge when I first started my medication. The formula I started with was 4% Azeliac acid, 1% clindamycin, and 4% niacinimide. This formula worked well at first, but my skin wasn’t clearing up as fast as I wanted it to, so I asked for a change in formula. My formula I use now is 8% azeliac acid, 1% clindamycin, and .025% zinc pyrithione. I love the formula I have now works very well for my skin and I am loving my results so far! I have been on curology for about 7 months and I plan on cutting back once my skin starts to clear. As of now, my routine is to use curology every night except for Wednesday’s and Sundays (days I use paulas choice liquid exfolaint). My overall review: The curology team is very kind and accommodating to their patients. This is a very convenient way to get a prescription and have a dermatologist to talk to. I have been seeing great results from my medicine and I look forward to finally having clear skin! I do know that curology isn’t for everyone and not everyone will have the same great experience as me. However, I do encourage anyone who wants to try it to do so! You can cancel at any time and you won’t know if it works for you until your try! I recommend anyone to try it out! Curology - Curology formula Curology - The Cleanser Curology - The Moisturizer

1 month on curology
1month on curology Hi guys! Been a long time since ive posted...again. Lol, sorry! November-early feb are my really busy months. But ive finally found the time to really sit down and type up a good post. I like to go by quality over quantity. Anyways, lets get to the post. In late October, I noticed that my differin wasn't really working as it used to, I later found out my skin needed something stronger. So I decided to try out Curology. So far so good! First week or two, I experienced little to zero purging. I figured this is because my skin is already used to stronger things. I followed the Curology routine for about a week, then integrated my serums and extra steps. I still saw little irritation. Curology - The Cleanser The face wash, i found this was a very simple and generic face wash. It feels very similar to the Hydrating wash by CeraVE. I wouldnt go out of my way to order this again. Curology - The Moisturizer The moisturizer. I got the more thicker “rich” moisturizer, and needless to say, I LOVED it. I really saw and felt a difference with this moisturizer. It absorbs really well and gives my skin a wonderful glow. However, I wouldnt reorder again because I can just find a dupe lol The pimple patches, these flat out SUCKED. I tried them on 3 different pimples and nothing happened at all. The only thing good about them is that they stayed stuck, but other than that, nope. I can definitely say that Ill be sticking with curology for a while. I not only saw a difference in my acne, but my dark spots and texture!! Its really a game changer for me Curology - Curology formula Clindamycin 1%, Azelaic acid 4%, and Zinc Pyrithione .25% Also peep that weight loss🙈 ive been working out :)

Peptides for all skin types for youthful skin
Peptides in skincare are so important and effective, they might not be one of those actives where you see your skin brightening, exfoliating but they definitely add up to your moisture game! ✨Know a little bit about Peptides: Peptides are amino acids that are the building blocks of certain proteins needed by the skin, like collagen and elastin. Using a serum or moisturizer that contains peptides can lead to firmer, younger-looking skin, and maybe even fewer breakouts. Peptides are generally considered safe, and while they’re a promising skin care ingredient, more research is needed on their efficacy. They're so effective in strengthening your skin barrier and giving that suppleness to your skin. For more youthful looking skin add it in your skincare routine along with Humectants like Hyaluronic acid and Panthenol. I've beein using this Bio-mimicking peptides by @katesomerville. Kate Somerville - Kx Active Concentrates Bio-Mimicking Peptides Serum I'll tell you shortly, I like it. This serum has high-performance concentrate with a signature blend of five peptides that work together to refresh and renew skin as it firms, smooths, and hydrates. ✨Highlighted Ingredients: - Complex of Five Peptides: Visibly improve skin elasticity, rejuvenation, and moisturization while reducing wrinkles and fine lines. - Chicory Leaf Extract: Acts as a natural alternative to retinol and helps to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, pores, and skin roughness. - Mango and Banana Pulp Extracts: Improve radiance and luminosity while helping to smooth the appearance of wrinkles. No matter what your age and skin type is Peptides can be useful. Especially now as we are transitioning into our fall routine, you can add peptides either in serum, toner or moisturizer form and they'll definitely keep your skin moisturized. I always like to remember the key to softer, smoother looking skin is hydration and moisturizing elements. ✨My experience and results I saw: -This serum made my skin very supple at the end of the day. -I use it in the morning along with my @theordinary Hyaluronic acid and @innisfree Panthenol toner The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 innisfree - Truecare Panthenol 10 Moisture Skin - There is slight brightening and lightening experience. - It's fragrance free and has a little thick consistency but it absorbs well and quickly into the skin. - My tip is to use it when your Menstrual cycle begins, it will nourish and replenish the dull skin as well as strengthens it. Do you like peptides??

Innisfree Truecare Line
▶️ innisfree - Truecare Calamine 6.5 Cleanser - balanced gel cleanser formulated with calamine and tea tree to provide a soothing cleanse to the skin. This was a basic cleanser that effectively cleansed my skin without stripping it. Does contain fragrant ingredients that gives it an herbal citrus scent. ▶️ innisfree - Truecare Panthenol 10 Moisture Skin - watery toner that contains 10% panthenol, orchid, camellia, and green tea to hydrate the skin. This was my favorite product from the set since it’s a simple toner that felt weightless on the skin. It doesn’t leave a sticky finish, and I like to apply 1-2 layers to adequately hydrate my skin. ▶️ innisfree - Truecare PHA Toner Pad - toner soaked pads containing PHA, ceramide, panthenol, sodium hyaluronate, and allantoin to gently exfoliate the skin. I’m not sure this did anything for my skin since I didn’t see any noticeable difference. It was very gentle though. ▶️ innisfree - Truecare AC Soothing Ampoule - watery textured ampoule that contains panthenol, beta-glucan, and propolis, to hydrate and soothe the skin. I wasn’t impressed with this since there was very little product in each packet, and the results were lackluster. ▶️ innisfree - True care Moist Recovery Cream - thick balm like moisturizer to help form a protective barrier over the skin. This was a nice occlusive cream for night use but again, this also didn’t really have any noticeable difference on my skin. Just a basic moisturizer. ▶️ innisfree - Truecare CICA Intensive Balm - gel textured balm that contains centella asiatica, squalane, arbutin, and green tea to protect the skin and improve skin irritations. This was a pretty nice cream that left a hydrating skin finish. I didn’t really notice a big difference with my skin though. ▶️ innisfree - Truecare Non-Nano Sun Screen SPF48 PA+++ - peachy tinted physical sunscreen that uses uv filter titanium dioxide to protect the skin from uv rays. This has a lightweight creamy texture that easily spreads across the skin. It leaves a nice skin finish with a glowy sheen. I didn’t like this because it leaves a gray white cast. Not suitable for darker skin types. I did like the mattifying effect.

❌❌❌Dont Mix These W/ Retinol❌❌❌
What doesn't Retinol do??? It helps unclog pores, exfoliate and smooth skin, reduces the appearance of hyperpigmentation, treats acne and reduces fine lines and wrinkles. So do we really need to pair it with any other active ingredients??? The quick answer is no, retinol can do a lot on its own. Here are a list of products not to mix with Retinol: ⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️ ❌AHAs- Too irritating ❌Salicylic Acid- Too Drying ❌ Another Retinol- No benefit to double down- Too irritating ❌Benzoyl Peroxide- They will deactivate each other, however, DIFFERIN - 0.1% Adapalene Acne Treatment Gel Pump is the exception. I currently use DIFFERIN - 0.1% Adapalene Acne Treatment Gel Pump and I layer my favorite BIOSSANCE - Squalane + Phyto-Retinol Serum underneath. Even tho it's labeled a retinol it's the natural Bakuchiol retinol form and works well layered with adapalene. You can also layer some Vitamin C serums and Hyaluronic Acid with your Retinol. I love NATURIUM - Vitamin C Super Serum Plus a mix of vitamin c/retinol and NATURIUM - Quadruple Hyaluronic Acid Serum 5% . Do you use a Retinol?? Do you layer your retinol??

NATURIUM GEMS ✨✨✨
I am so excited to share these products with you guys because just wow! I wanted to take some time to try them out for a bit and see how they would react on my skin. Happy to say these products absorb into my skin beautifully without leaving a sticky feeling. I always pair an occlusive moisturizer with my actives to prevent possible irritation and over drying. My thoughts: NATURIUM - Azelaic Topical Acid 10% This product gently exfoliates the skin to help reduce the appearance of dark spots. This also helps control and balance excess oil. This product has a slight tingling sensation when first applied but it goes away after you smooth or pat it into your skin. I like to apply this in the nighttime only. Never experienced itchiness or irritation after using this. NATURIUM - Vitamin C Super Serum Plus Now this bad boy contains vitamin c, vitamin a, salicylic acid, hyaluronic acid, and niacinamide. I use this during the day time unless I’m wearing a mask that day. This helps with aging, acne, hyperpigmentation, And enhances overall complexion. I see an immediate brightening effect on my skin after using this. I love how this is a power infused serum that never leaves my skin feeling irritated. I use this serum 3-4 a week in the daytime. NATURIUM - Niacinamide Serum 12% Plus Zinc 2% This product deserves more hype then it’s getting. I see how it is improving the look of my dark spots, and overall skin texture. Gentle but very effective. Great for most skin styles. I love how this preforms and layers with other actives and serums as well. I use this almost every day. NATURIUM - Plant Squalane Face Oil 100% This is one of my favorite face oils of all time! Leaves your skin feeling moisturized, soft and supple. It’s a lightweight, non-greasy oil absorbs easily into the skin. I recommend this for all skin types. I love to use the oil whenever I’m breaking out as the last serum before my moisturizer. Even if I’m not breaking out I just love how this oil makes my skin look and feel. I hope you try these products out and let me know how they work for you. Thanks for reading 🤍 #skincareandshare

Sensitive Acne Prone Routine
Sensitive Acne Prone Routine
Hi there! I have superrrrr sensitive skin that breaks out to everything so I’m here to help out anyone else’s face that hates them too. I have three different night routines that I do in order to not pile on a bunch of products in one day. Am 🦐 splash face with water 🦐 CeraVe - Ultra-Light Moisturizing Lotion SPF 30 For Normal To Oily Skin 🦐 Neutrogena - On-the-Spot Acne Treatment I don’t use a cleanser in the morning, with my sensitive skin, washing it twice makes it too overly irritated. Instead, I wash it with water and follow with a gentle skin moisturizer/SPF, and spot treatment as needed. Pm A - Acne-fighting 🦖 CeraVe - SA Smoothing Cleanser 🦖 The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% 🦖 DIFFERIN - DIFFERIN Acne Treatment Gel 🦖 CeraVe - Daily Moisturizing Lotion For Normal To Dry Skin The SA cleanser is very gentle and effective for diminishing breakouts, and doesn’t strip the skin of its natural barrier. This is super important if you are using treatments, as too many can be damaging. I follow up with a water-based serum (niacinamide) that targets oil production, acne, hyperpigmentation, and dark spots. Then finish with an acne treatment and moisturizer. Pm B - Calm routine 🪐 BURT’S BEES - Face Cleanser for Sensitive Skin 🪐 The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% 🪐DIFFERIN - DIFFERIN Acne Treatment Gel 🪐 CeraVe - Daily Moisturizing Lotion For Normal To Dry Skin I have a “calm” routine to take a break from other treatments I do during the week. My skin gets really irritated if it’s bombarded with a ton of products so I use this night as a breather for my skin. Typically that means the differin gel as well as niacinamide and moisturizer. Pm C - Brightening routine 🍌 pūrlisse - Watermelon + Charcoal Purifying Cleanser 🍌 The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution 🍌 LUÉ by Jean Seo - BALANCE 🍌DIFFERIN - DIFFERIN Acne Treatment Gel 🍌 CeraVe - Daily Moisturizing Lotion For Normal To Dry Skin This one is my favorite! The watermelon cleanser is my favorite thing I’ve put on my face. It’s gentle, brightens, and doesn’t leave my skin feeling tight or dull. It makes my skin glowy and supple and I’m close to dying for it. Glycolic acid is a chemical exfoliant that brightens, smooths skin texture, and uneven tone, as well as working as an acne fighter!! It’s greta if your skin can tolerate it. If not, I’d go with The Ordinary - Lactic Acid 10% + HA. Next, I like to put in a calming serum for hydration and letting my skin calm the f*** down from the exfoliant. Then typical moisturizer and differin gel. I hope this helped for those of you that are looking to treat your face without pissing it off! Good luck to all you SSPs!

Thoughts on Morning Skincare Routine?
Thoughts on Morning Skincare Routine?
Hey everyone! I’m so impressed with the Cherie community and how much I’ve learned from others on this site already that I thought I would share my morning skincare routine! For context: I am a 24 year old who in the past year has struggled with moderate adult acne (only along the chin/jawline). In the past few months I have become very passionate about skincare and finding a skincare routine that works for me! Please leave any comments below if you have suggestions for me to add/replace in my routine! I am still somewhat new to the skincare community so any and all suggestions and comments are welcome!!☺️ First I cleanse with CeraVe - Acne Foaming Cream Cleanser while I am in the shower and I leave this cleanser on for about 2 minutes before washing it off. I love benzoyl peroxide because I found it is one of the only ingredients to be effective in fighting acne (salicylic acid didn’t do the trick😭). Second I follow with The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution for my daily exfoliation. I know it’s controversial to use glycolic acid in the morning but I’ve had a lot of people tell me it’s okay to do as long as you are following it up with a good moisturizer and sunscreen! I have some acne scarring (just redness) along my chin and jawline and I have found overtime this product has worked wonders to diminish those scars! Third I use 1% clindamycin which was prescribed by the doctor for my acne and it has been absolutely amazing combined with the benzoyl peroxide! Fourth I apply NATURIUM - Niacinamide Serum 12% Plus Zinc 2% I love this formulation and I use it mainly to help with the acne scarring that has occurred. Although it can be a little sticky, it gives your face a really nice glow that I just love. Fifth I apply NATURIUM - Vitamin C Super Serum Plus this product contains a cocktail of fabulous ingredients, and I find that the combination of this with the Niacinimide has just strengthened my skin. Sixth I apply one of my favorite products ever CeraVe - Moisturizing Cream For Normal To Dry Skin This product has been a life savior as it is non-comedogenic, fragrance free, and so hydrating! Truly an incredible product! Finally I apply elta md SKINCARE - UV Clear Broad Spectrum SPF 46 I absolutely love this sunscreen because it’s formulated by dermatologists specifically for people with sensitive or acne proned skin. I absolutely love that it comes in a tinted version so it doesn’t leave a white cast, and it’s a great base for makeup! My one complaint is that it is a bit expensive for a small bottle. However, if you’re willing to pay the money it’s definitely worth it! That’s my routine! Please comment and let me know what you think/suggestions you have:)

Week 6 of Tretinoin + Progress
Week 6 of Tretinoin + Progress
Looking back on my progress (Before and after) This is the end of my sixth week going on Spirinolactone (pills for hormonal acne that I take 1x a day) and Tretinoin. I purchased both treatments from Apostrophe, so they have been prescribed by a dermatologist. My Apostrophe cream formula is 0.025% Tretinoin and 4% Niacinimide. I have normal, but dehydrated skin. I’m looking to add more in as I adjust to treatment. My routine is as follows: AM HONEST - Gentle Gel Cleanser dear, klairs - Supple Preparation Unscented Facial Toner COSRX - Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence HONEST - Hydrogel Cream PURITO - Centella Green Level Unscented Sun SPF50+ Supergoop! - Glow Stick SPF 50 (I use his to reapply SPF every 2 hours) PM DHC - Deep Cleansing Oil dear, klairs - Supple Preparation Unscented Facial Toner COSRX - Hydrium Centella Aqua Soothing Ampoule 40ml HONEST - Hydrogel Cream Apostrophe Tretinoin Formula CeraVe - Healing Ointment I can see my purging period slowly coming to a close. Whereas I got about (if we’re counting) 4 new bumps per day, I now get about 1 a day. And these ones disappear relatively quickly, so within 2 days max. The purging period is definitely the hardest because your skin is literally at its worst. All the congestion is coming to the surface. It’s really hard to lose sight of the progress you’ve made and feel like Tretinoin isn’t working so that’s why taking photos is important. So, I’ve chosen to show my progress from July 17 to today, September 3rd. This really gives me a glimmer of hope, as I was feeling pretty down while purging. Compared to others my progress is slow, because I slowly worked up to daily usage of Tretinoin. And every individual has a different experience with the purging period. For some it may last only 2 weeks or a month, and for others it may last 3-4 months. There’s no telling by looking at only other’s individual experiences how your experience will go. I really want to combat the hyperpigmentation left over from before and during the purging period (PIE and PIH). So once I’m sure my inflammatory acne is completely gone, I want to consider adding in another product to increase the speed at which my marks fade.

Acne getting worse this year
Acne getting worse this year
Hi guys! I’m new to Cherie. I am 22 years old and have always had occasional pimples along with black heads on my nose but now my acne is out of control. On my chin line the pimples are constant and then I have large painful pimples which come up on my checks. Plus, textured forehead with occasional pimples. I began with trying the 10 step Korean skin care routine with the double cleanse which helped my redness and made my face look bright but did not help with the acne Then I tried black wolf face wash which seems to help but doesn’t stand a chance against my 12hr work days. Now: I’m trying smacne which seemed to have a lot of good reviews. SMACNE - Acne Treatment 30 Day Kit but have only used it for a few days For years I have used LANEIGE - Water Sleeping Mask which I love! It seems to improve my face over night Clean&Clear - Advantage Acne Spot Treatment CeraVe - Hydrating Sunscreen Face Lotion SPF 50- I hate the texture of this sunscreen but it was $15 so I’m trying to use it up I am on birth control and when talking to my doctor she said I should see a dermatologist because BC should only help acne not cause/ worsen it. I have reduced the dairy I consume, I drink green smoothies with fruits, veggies, flax seed, collagen, and apple cider vinegar most mornings. I also try to drink lots of water. This is kinda my last ditch effort before seeing a dermatologist. I legit am happy to be required to wear a mask at work because i am not confident with my skins current state. Thank you in advance for any advice! Right now I’m just trying to try one new thing at a time and give it plenty of weeks to see the effect. Full list of products that I have tried: THE FACE SHOP - Rice Water Bright, Light Cleansing Oil THE FACE SHOP - Rice Water Bright Rice Bran Cleansing Foam COSRX - Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence LA ROCHE-POSAY - Effaclar Medicated Gel Cleanser for Acne Prone Skin dear, klairs - Supple Preparation Facial TonerThe Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling SolutionI think my skin is too sensitive for this HOLIKA HOLIKA - Good Cera Super Ceramide Cream (MALIN+GOETZ) - Grapefruit face cleanser- this used to work for me but it stopped helping with my acne SKINFOOD - Royal Honey Essential Queen's Serumdear, klairs - Freshly Juiced Vitamin C Drop HUM - Daily Cleanse Detox Supplement
