How I cleared my Acne - My AM and PM routine

Beautycation_by_shruti
Swipe left !! 🔙 So, my Hormonal acne is almost cleared up and I'm so excited to share with you how I cleared my acne as well as what products worked amazing for that! As shown in pictures six months back I had painful, bleeding cystic acne that flared up because of PCOS (Poly-Cystic Ovarian Syndrome). I managed to leave them at bay now, leaving me focused on just the acne scars which are also faded a lot! I believe whoever has hormonal acne, or breakouts in general this routine will for you! So here's my morning and nighttime routine for past six months ( some products are added recently but they're helping me in maintaining my skin Acne-free) AM - @fresh Soy cleanserfresh - Soy Makeup Removing Face Wash
@innisfree Panthenol 10 tonerinnisfree - Truecare Panthenol 10 Moisture Skin
@naturium Hyaluronic acid essence 2% NATURIUM - Hyaluronic Acid Essence 2%
@Tula Pro-Glycolic PH resurfacing tonerTULA SKINCARE - Pro-Glycolic 10% Resurfacing Toner
Alternate day (replacing AHA/ @tula toner) - @naturium Vitamin C Super serum plusNATURIUM - Vitamin C Super Serum Plus
@theordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%
@naturium Niacinamide 12% + Zinc 2% NATURIUM - Niacinamide Serum 12% Plus Zinc 2%
@sundayriley C.E.O Vitamin C rich hydration cream SUNDAY RILEY - C.E.O. Vitamin C Rich Hydration Cream
@Tula Protect + Glow Daily sunscreen gel broad spectrum SPF 30TULA SKINCARE - Daily Sunscreen Gel Broad Spectrum SPF 30
PM - @curology Cleanser (I don't wear makeup but I used @elemis cleansing balm to remove my sunscreen as first cleanse) Curology - The Cleanser
@naturium Hyaluronic acid essence 2% NATURIUM - Hyaluronic Acid Essence 2%
@naturium Niacinamide 12% + Zinc 2%NATURIUM - Niacinamide Serum 12% Plus Zinc 2%
@curology Custom formula - (This contains Niacinamide 4% + Clindamycin 1% + Azaleic acid 4% | For anyone who doesn't want or can't try curology, use @theordinary Azaleic acid suspension 10% + @naturium Niacinamide 12% + Zinc 2% serum.) Curology - Curology formula
Two nights in a week (replacing @curology formula) - @sundayriley A+ Retinoid serum / @theordinary Granactive retinoid 2% emulsionSUNDAY RILEY - A+ High-Dose Retinol Serum
This is my detailed routine and I really want to root for Azaleic acid as an ingredient as it helped me with my acne as well as (PIH)dark spots at the same time. Azaleic acid is such a great all rounder and no brainer when it comes to treating Acne and lightening/fading dark spots. Quick overlook of it's benefits- - Anti-microbial (hence kills acne causing bacteria) - Anti-inflammatory (reduces redness and look of blemishes) -Gently exfoliates skin (Unlike potent AHA but gives similar exfoliation) - Reduces skin texture and textural irregularities - Lightens and brightens dark spots, PIH, melasma by slowing down melanin production - Works well with almost all actives including AHA/BHA, Vitamin C, Retinols - Isn't photosensitive meaning you can use it in the morning as well as at night. Which product/ingredient you like the most? ⭐

RENTINOIDs: the BEST super ingredient
🌸 note: two of the products in my picture are prescription only, high grade retinoids. but i have tagged their drug store dupes that are the SAME product with a lower concentration 🌸 WHAT IS A RETINOL? in the most basic form, a retinoid is a form of VITAMIN A which encourages skin cells to break down and turn over faster, resulting in reduction of acne, wrinkles, dark spots and signs of aging. It promotes collagen production, unclogs pores, and reduces scarring. its actually thickens skin, preventing wrinkles from forming ☀️☀️ALWAYS USE AN SPF WITH RETINOIDS☀️☀️ because your skin cells are dying and regenerating so quickly, you are much more prone to sunburns. And we know sunburns are literally life-threatening they vary HIGHLY in strength (weak to strong list) - retinoid esters: The weakest version of a retinoid, but is good for sensitive skin, surface level retinol: found in a variety of products, works on the cellular level of skin - adapalene (differin): Used to be prescription only but can now be found in a low-dose age in most drug stores. penetrates deeper and slows the production of sebum with faster cell turnover - retinoic acid (Retin-A/tretinoin): works deeper in the skin, can produce overnight results in the form of dead skin peeling. Very advanced skin cell turnover, as it penetrates and stimulates cell death and production. Skin can become very sensitive, irritated , and red - isotretinoin (Accutane): essentially sebum production is very limited and skin cell turnover is dramatically increased. on ingestible medication that will make your skin peel, dry out, and really kill acne. It’s prescription only but very effective. 🌸 products i use! prescription only: ADAPALENE 0.3% dupe: DIFFERIN - DIFFERIN Acne Treatment Gel ADAPALENE is the primary form of retinol in this product. this has been my go to product for years, it makes me less sun sensitive then Retin-A 0.05%, while still giving me excellent skin cell turnover and anti aging benefits. It helped my skin go from absolute shiz to a much cleaner glowing face (see 4th pic) prescription only: RETIN-A 0.05% dupe: janssen - Retino-A 0.05% Tretinoin Cream TRETENOIN is the primary form of retinoid in this product. these two may actually be the same product, but the one that I have I know is usually prescription grade. it will make your skin peel overnight, so I use it as a spot treatment if I get any deep set nodular acne. i used this for a couple years but it made me really sun sensitive, it is very strong! luxury brand: SUNDAY RILEY - A+ High-Dose Retinol Serum RETINOL ESTER and CoQ10 are the primary forms of retinal in this product. this claims to have a 6.5% blend of stabilize retinoids and botanical retinoid alternative extracts. I think that it is incredibly overpriced for what it is. There are very similar dupes such as those from the inkey list and the ordinary

✔️Results! Let's get rid of Hyperpigmentation! ✨
If you know me for my Acne journey, you know I managed to leave my hormonal acne at bay. For few weeks I've been focusing on my Acne scars (dark spots) or Hyperpigmentation. For my Indian/brown skin it is inevitable to take care of my Post inflammatory Hyperpigmentation as it tends to get worse with time and sun exposure. The key to start with gettind rid of hyperpigmentation is Sunscreen. Mostly an SPF 30+. It is very important to calm those Melanocytes (cells that produce Melanin) and stop/reduce inter-cell transfer of melanin once it's produced. ✨This can be done with the help of these ingredients : 1. Niacinamide - Brightens skin, reduces Inter-transfer of melanin, Calms melanocytes 2. Alpha Arbutin - Brightening agent, stops excessive melanin production 3. L-Ascorbic acid (Vitamin C) - Brightens and lightens dark spots 4. Azelaic acid - Brightens, gently exfoliates and calms Melanocytes 5. AHAs and Retinol - Increase cell turnover and exfoliate skin for brightening of hyperpigmentation. These all are my current favorites and are absolutely effective. Their formulation is so good I have been able to enjoy using them. ✨AM routine : 1. PAULA'S CHOICE - Pore-Reducing Toner 2. ( I use this to prevent further breakouts, and I experienced slight brightening with this as well) NATURIUM - BHA Liquid Exfoliant 2% 3. @naturium Alpha Arbutin 1% essence NATURIUM - Alpha Arbutin Essence 1% 4. @naturium Super serum plus on alternate days NATURIUM - Vitamin C Super Serum Plus 5. @naturium Azelaic acid 10% serum NATURIUM - Azelaic Topical Acid 10% 6.NATURIUM - Alpha Arbutin Serum 2% 7. @leegeehaam Royal Propolis vitam amploule 8. @sundayriley Tidal enzyme water cream ( This has Alpha arbutin and some other brightening ingredients) SUNDAY RILEY - Tidal Brightening Enzyme Water Cream I mix @cosmedix L-Ascorbic acid powder COSMEDIX - Pure Mixing Crystals Vitamin C Powder with this cream and apply. It works amazing!! Or @sundayriley C.E.O vitamin C rich cream SUNDAY RILEY - C.E.O. Vitamin C Rich Hydration Cream 9. @tula protect +glow SPF 30 TULA SKINCARE - Daily Sunscreen Gel Broad Spectrum SPF 30 10. (When I'm heading out) Supergoop! - Unseen Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 40 ✨ PM routine : 1. @naturium BHA toner 2. @naturium Alpha arbutin 1% essence 3. @naturium Alpha arbutin 2% serum 4. @curology Formula (This has Azelaic acid 8% and Niacinamide 4%) Curology - Curology formula 5. @sundayriley A+ Retinol serum (Two-three nights per week) SUNDAY RILEY - A+ High-Dose Retinol Serum 6. (Once or twice a week instead of Retinol and Curology formula) The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution / SUNDAY RILEY - Good Genes Lactic Acid Treatment 6. I keep changing my night moisturizer, I use a gel/light moisturizer.

can't just stick to one regimen 😬 plz help!
Ok ppl, I've bought quite a few things to kick start a AM routine and a PM routine but it seems like I just can't stick to one or two items 😑 which is probably why I'm not seeing great results 😕 can yall help me stick to one or maybe even cancel out some things??? a little FYI: I have Dry sometimes sensitive skin (mostly dry tho). Got a couple acne scars but nothing too serious. Lots of black heads 😣 i feel because im putting too much product on my face im getting alot of black heads around my cheeks and chin. so in the AM I have a couple cleansers I like to use: TATCHA - The Rice Wash Skin-Softening Cleanser or the CeraVe - Hydrating Face Cleanser For Normal To Dry Skin next I put Neutrogena - Hydro Boost Hydrating Serum i like it but I want something more hydrating. I also have OLE HENRIKSEN - Truth Serum but I've heard some negative things about it so I rarely apply it in the AM, more towards the PM. so here is where I might be doing it wrong, I put on CeraVe - Mineral Sunscreen Lotion SPF 50 for Body with Zinc Oxide before my moisturizer. Now I like the sunscreen, it does have that white cast but once I put moisturizer it kinda goes away. I do have the Supergoop! - Unseen Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 40 which i alternate depending on what ill be doing that day. lastly, I have tons of moisturizers. I need something that will hydrate my face all day or at least all day. I have the TATCHA - The Dewy Skin Cream which i LOVE but I hate using it everyday cuz 1. it's EXPENSIVE and 2. it can be a bit too hydrating where it looks oily toward the end of the day. I like using this one more at night time. Another moisturizer I use is the OLE HENRIKSEN - C-Rush Vitamin C Gel Moisturizer also heard negative things about so I'll wear it more for the PM. I have SUNDAY RILEY - C.E.O. Vitamin C Rich Hydration Cream which is AMAZING! 👏👏 this gives me just the right amount of hydration and it doesn't feel heavy or tacky like the CeraVe - CeraVe Moisturising Cream which i rather use at night as well. This one doesn't give me as much hydration as I would like. oh and for toners the only thing I have is THAYERS - Rose Petal Facial Toner its ok, if anyone else has recommendations plz feel free to drop some info plz 🙏 Anywho, this is pretty much what I use for both AM and PM. I do have 2 exfoliaters the Murad - AHA/BHA Exfoliating Cleanser and OLE HENRIKSEN - Transforming Walnut Scrub which I will alternate as well. If anyone has any recommendations or tips for ya girl PLZ feel free. Lmk if I need to add or take out some of the things I use. Can't wait to see your guy's feedback 🤗😓

My TOP skincare products against Maskne 😷
Since maybe around March, here on the east coast we were told to start wearing face masks, face shields, or bandanas to cover our mouth and nose. And around that time I also began to work from home, meaning I personally didn’t have to wear a mask for most of the time since I was home alone. However, on weekends I would go out and wear a mask! My experience with Maskne is different because I have oily combo skin but with the cold weather coming I also deal with dry winter skin 😑. Basically your girl deals with normal, oily, and dry patches on her face! Since my dry spots occur around my mouth aka the mask hot spot, my top skincare products for dealing wjth “Maskne” are different. Maskne for me is the friction that causes the mask to leave irritated skin and then some breakouts! Again this is what works for me! I noticed that days I don’t apply the sufficient moisturizer on my face the underneath of the mask would cause insufferable irritation that I would scratch and then lead to breakouts because of me touching my face. But when I do apply the right products like SUNDAY RILEY - C.E.O. Vitamin C Rich Hydration Cream and YU.BE - Moisturizing Skin Cream then the mask wouldn’t irritate, my skin didn’t feel dry, and my face would feel rejuvenated under the mask. I know that there are not many out there who have the three main skin concerns all on their face. But if you’re here, I hope this helps you like it’s helped me! The first product of the Sunday Riley CEO Vitamin C Rich Hydration Cream ($65.00 - 1.7 oz) was gifted to me a while back and just recently started using it since it was such intense moisture! It has a lovely citrus scent but not too overpowering that it makes you dizzy. And the consistency is thick but easy to apply to the face and most importantly around the area your mask will cover! The main ingredient of vitamin C is perfect for providing powerful antioxidant support! The amount of hydration it provides is amazing which is ideal for me since I get dry patches in the cold weather around my mouth. I apply this cream post face wash and before I apply makeup. Typically this product is enough to combat any sigh of maskne, but sometimes you need more! Enter my Yube Moisturizing Skin Cream! In the pictures I have the sample size I carry on my purse! This is an extra cream that transforms and revitalizes dry skin! A tube retails for $16.00 (1 fl oz). The two main ingredients are pure glycerin and hyaluronic acid, which create a protective barrier over the skin! It doesn’t have much of a scent except for a light one that you barely pick up on. I’ve been using this product for over three years and it always works for repairing my skin and now preventing maskne from overtaking my skin. Again, I’m sure I’m not the only one who deals with this predicament and I hope it can help others. #CheriePartner

Month 1 Curology & Differin- The Purge Is Real
I’ve always had acne, but at 21 I started getting hormonal acne on my cheeks, chin and jaw- super painful and red! I am currently experiencing a lot of purging after a month exactly on Curology & Differin due to doctor and friend recommendation. I also got my hormonal IUD (Kyleena) out on Friday (10/09?) and I feel like my acne has been hormonally linked more than anything. I started taking Sprintec hormonal BC so we’ll see how it goes. My first derm appointment is Nov 1st- not soon enough! I wasn’t exactly informed til about two weeks in that my skin would be worse, which was pretty shitty, but it is what it is. I’m at about week 5 1/2 and have found some products work better or worse for me. I have very sensitive skin- parts of my body are prone to eczema but my face is combo (oily/dry) and prone to acne (hormonal mostly). My routine: AM- Curology cleanser Curology moisturizer (it’s very light/gel) but more often now I use the TO moisturizer lately (for dry/sensitive skin) I use Micellar cleansing water with cotton pads during the day if I sweat or wear my mask 😷 then apply moisturizer again if my skin barrier looks dry- it usually does nowadays.. PM- Double cleanse with Curology cleanser or Alba SA Cleanser (gently exfoliates) when I need to exfoliate Curology moisturizer or TO moisturizer (usually TO) Curology formula every other night / Differin every other night (I never use together even though at first I was🤧)- I might decrease the use of these but idk what to do Curology moisturizer or TO moisturizer (sway toward this) Please give me tips or reassurance that I’m doing okay! Best of luck to any girlies or others💜 struggling with maskcne, cystic acne and hormonal acne.... I feel ya! 💘

Curology update pt.4
Hey babes! I’ve been waiting to do my last and final review on Curology to gather my opinions on it after using it for nearly a month! As previously stated in other posts: I have been contemplating on whether or not I will continue using Curology to target my skin concerns. I have finally decided *drum roll* I will not be continuing to use Curology products that have been included in my free trial. After weighing out the pros and cons, I really just feel like it’s pointless for me to keep using only their products. Curology - The Cleanser the cleanser is the best part for me! I love the milky like texture, and how smooth my face feels after. I’m glad that I still have more than enough left over whenever I want to use it or switch up my products. Curology - Curology formula i rate the formula at a 3, because although it did help my acne based on my forehead, I feel I could’ve just got products from the Ordinary that would’ve done the same thing. Curology - The Moisturizer my least favorite item out of the package. I wish they put more in, but it’s understandable why I ran out so fast. I like to moisturize and feel the moisturizer on my skin (if that makes sense), and this product just didn’t do it for me. In my personal opinion, I think this brand would be great for people with more acne prone skin (since this brand is mainly for that). As far as my skin, I do have my occasional breakouts and Curology did help target my fungal acne that I started to get more of on my forehead, so I am grateful for that! I just think I could find/use my products that will not only help the fungal acne, but also target some of my other skin concerns (I.e hyperpigmentation, blackheads on top of nose). Overall, I’m glad I did experience what the hype was about, but I won’t be returning lol. If anyone has any tips for my skin concerns that I have mentioned, please let me know. I’m listening 👂🏽☺️

You need this daily sunscreen with no white cast
Get this Daily SPF if you want no-white cast and sticky feeling! Swipe left to see how it applies on my skin ✨😊 This is my daily Sunscreen I've been using for months now and I love it. I have a fair-medium complexion and I always struggle to find a good sunscreen with no white cast. Also I don't like a greasy, oily and heavy feeling of most of the sunscreens on the market. Plus, for my daily use and for most of the days when I'm home I don't use high end/ expensive sunscreens. This is 36$ but it lasted me quite a long time but if you use lot of sunscreen in a day this size may be a little small for you. I truly liked this Protect + Glow Daily sunscreen gel broad spectrum SPF 30 by @tulaskincare TULA SKINCARE - Daily Sunscreen Gel Broad Spectrum SPF 30 A truly amazing Broad spectrum SPF. It's a mineral one without any white cast because of it's gel formula. It literally feels cooling on face when applied and leaves a that sheen and glow on the skin. It's great for people with Acne and hyperpigmentation or oily/combination skin types. I have used tubes of these and I still can't choose a different one for my daily use. What's more amazing about it? It's ingredients: - It's non comedogenic - Has ingredients: Probiotics: help lock in moisture & strengthen the skin barrier. - Pineapple & Papaya: help promote even skin tone. - Wild Butterfly Ginger Root: helps protect skin against blue light. I think I have found a perfect daily sunscreen for me. If you have skin like me or you struggle with white cast this is the one for you!

First Post Has to be About Sunscreen!
Remember when you were younger and went to the beach with family? Remember when your mom or dad would fight you to put loads of sunscreen on? Maybe it’s just me, but I have a lot of memories of those moments! Turns out my parents knew what they were doing! I wish I started to use sunscreen a lot earlier in my skin care routine instead of only applying when I went to the beach.... but it’s never too late to start! TULA SKINCARE - Daily Sunscreen Gel Broad Spectrum SPF 30 is my first sunscreen I use daily! What I love about this product: When I would apply it on at the beach, it would protect me all day in the blazing sun. It also leaves a very nice glow on my skin that I love without making me look more oily than I already am. My favorite aspect of this sunscreen is the Blue Light protection (UBV)!!! I am a financial analyst and I sit in front of my computer all day! It’s really great knowing I’m also being protected even when I’m sitting inside all day. Anyone recommend any other good sunscreens? I want to try out others as well! Comment below :)

My Latest Favourites!
I have sensitive combo skin and a love of skincare that surpasses the amount of skin I have- I love trying new products! I’ve been testing some newer serums, typically applied thinnest to thickest after I cleanse and before a moisturizer. Here are my current favourites: • *HOLI FROG - Galilee Antioxidant Dewy Drop is amazing for general hydration, though I love to see the antimicrobial/anti-inflammatory Azelaic Acid in it! A slew of antioxidants like CoQ10, azelaic acid, alpha-lipoic acid, honeysuckle flower extract, green tea leaf extract, and vitamin E make this a powerhouse for fighting environmental aggressors that agitate/age skin! But $52 USD is steep for 30mL, so I’m not sure this is “worth the money” for most folks. • NATURIUM - Hyaluronic Acid Essence 2% is fantastic and I recommend it to those that struggle with dehydration or want an extra boost of hydration with autumn/winter coming along! It’s incredibly lightweight, perfect for patting onto damp skin post-cleanse and before other serums. $16 USD for 170mL is perfect, making this humectant-packed serum 100% worth it imo. • NATURIUM - Alpha Arbutin Serum 2% costs $20 USD for 30mL and I can’t recommend it enough for those that suffer from uneven skin tone, melasma, and/or hyperpigmentation! Alpha arbutin is molecularly similar to hydroquinone and works similarly, interrupting melanin synthesis to lighten dark spots and even skin tone. Naturium formulates it alongside niacinamide (great for soothing skin) and a variety of humectants. I love alpha arbutin for fading my dark spots. • Apostrophe - 0.05% Tretinoin + 4% Niacinamide Lotion | ★★★★★ is formulated around the gold-star ingredient for anti-aging: prescription retinoid! They include some simple emollients to create a spreadable lotion, as well as niacinamide, a wonderfully multifaceted ingredient that helps with acne, skin tone, and oil production. This silky serum-lotion is amazing- little to no irritation as my skin adjusted to tret, reduction in acne (before COVID maskne and stress hit), and a noticeable smoothing of the few fine lines that had been growing on my forehead and around my mouth. It costs $90 to fill my prescription but the tube has lasted me since June 1st (using it three times per week) and while it’s feeling very light, it’s still pumping out product. Apostrophe cites the bottle as lasting about 3 months with nightly use, making the cost for their recommended use $30 per month- not bad for zero insurance prescription retinoid access! • *By Wishtrend - Polyphenols in Propolis 15% Ampoule is an interesting serum that targets inflammation, irritation, and dehydration. Polyphenols and the variety of extracts included help to minimize redness as well as lessen the intensity of inflammatory acne. $32 USD for 30mL makes this a small splurge but I think it could benefit those with sensitive and/or dry skin. *gifted #CheriePartner

A guide to Naturium: Must Have products & brand
I see Naturium being the next 'The Ordinary'. There are so many reasons why I'm liking this brand and products, but the main reason is their formulation! I have been trying Naturium since its launch and I have tested these products from both cosumer and formulation perspective. I love them. The best part is they're expanding their range to include all the essential acids, antioxidants and vitamins but the main thing to consider is their product is not solely highlighting one or two ingredients. Unlike The Ordinary or The Inkey list these products are affectively formulated with bunch of ingredients together to create a formulation effective as well as enjoyable! I have these picks from the brand which are so good in my Acne prone skincare regimen: 1. Hyaluronic acid essence 2% (16$) NATURIUM - Hyaluronic Acid Essence 2% - This made me fall in love with essences. This lightweight watery yet slippery formula glides on skin without tugging it and evaporating right away. ✨Benefits: - Softens, soothes & hydrates -Provides optimum moisture balance -Preps skin for better absorption of skincare 2. Niacinamide serum 12% + Zinc 2% (16$) NATURIUM - Niacinamide Serum 12% Plus Zinc 2% - This is one of the best Niacinamide serums I have ever tried. The best formula, amazing results and easy to add and stick in your routine. ✨Benefits : -Helps reduce the look of enlarged pores -Refines the appearance of uneven texture -Helps balance excess oil production -Purifies congested skin 3. Vitamin C super serum plus (25$) NATURIUM - Vitamin C Super Serum Plus - Ana amazing blend of vitamin c, retinol, hyaluronic acid, niacinamide and salicylic acid to help brighten, smooth, firm and target the look of fine lines while shielding skin from environmental stressors. ✨Benefits : -Multi-benefit serum enhances overall complexion -Minimizes the appearance of fine lines & wrinkles -Visually brightens, smooths & firms 4. Azelaic topical acid 10% (20$) NATURIUM - Azelaic Topical Acid 10% - a high concentration of glycinated azelaic acid, along with niacinamide, vitamin C and coffee seed extract, which minimize skin imperfections such as congestion, redness, dullness and discoloration. ✨Benefits: Gently exfoliates Helps reduce dark spots Balances excess oil 5. Alpha Arbutin serum 2% (20$) NATURIUM - Alpha Arbutin Serum 2% - Beautiful formula blended with Alpha arbutin, Niacinamide and lemon to lighten dark spots much effectively and fast ✨Benefits: -Brightens and evens skin tone -Helps prevent dark spot development -Ideal for all skin types and complexions 6. Alpha arbutin essence 1% (16$) NATURIUM - Alpha Arbutin Essence 1% - 1% alpha arbutin, beta-glucan and orange blossom to hydrate skin while diminishing the look of dark spots and hyperpigmentation. Beautiful essence to add in your prepping routine. ✨Benefits: -Brightens and evens skin tone -Helps prevent dark spot development -Ideal for all skin types and complexions 7. BHA liquid exfoliant 2% (20$) NATURIUM - BHA Liquid Exfoliant 2% - This BHA toner is competing with cult favorite Paula's choice BHA exfoliant. Amazing alternative for congested pores and Acne prone skin. ✨Benefits: -Effectively exfoliates skin to unclog pores -Minimizes the look of fine lines, wrinkles and uneven texture -Creates a glowing, radiant complexion These products have helped a lot when I was dealing with my Active hormonal acne and now they're doing an amazing job in gettind rid of my PIH (dark spots) I think you shoukd definitely give this brand and these products a try. I assure you, you won't be disappointed. ❤️ 😇

Hyram Approved😍The Ordinary or The Inkey List? Which is the BEST?
The Ordinary and The Inkey List are getting a lot more popular recently because of how affordable they are. In this post, I will give you the answer from Hyram through the ingredients evaluation and his own experience. Niacinamide: treats so many skin problems, such as redness and sensitivity, dark spots and hyperpigmentation, controlling the oiliness in the skin, etc. The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%($6) VS. THE inkey LIST - Niacinamide Oil Control Serum ($7): Ingredient Winner: The Inkey List: in addition to Niacinamide, it contains a lot more incredible ingredients, like Radish Root Ferment to soothe sensitivity, Squalene to hydrate the skin, Sodium Hyaluronate is a concentrated form of hyaluronic acid, Soybean Oil to retain skin moisturized Experience & Performance Winner: The Ordinary: super lightweight and sinks into the skin easier, great for people who have combination to oily skin. Whereas The Inkey List product has a thicker consistency with a heavier layer on the surface of skin, great to dry to normal skin. You can choose any from them based on your own skin type.  Retinol: a powerful ingredient to repair multiple types of damage within the skin, including acne scars, pigmentation, fine line, aging, sun damage, etc. The Ordinary - Retinol 0.5% in Squalane($6) VS. THE inkey LIST - Retinol Serum($10)Ingredient Winner: Tied. The Inkey List claims to have 1% retinol but actually 0.5% retinol and 0.5% hydroxypinacolone Retinoate, with is an ester of retinoic acid (an extremely powerful anti-aging and repairing product)Overall: The Ordinary is better because of how many options of retinol at different concentrations they have for a variety of skin types. Retinol can cause a lot of sensitivity if you’re not careful with the concentration Experience & Performance Winner: The Inkey List: No heavy feeling, easy to spread, very effective but non-sensitizing. However, The Ordinary products don’t feel very easy to apply.  Hyaluronic Acid: helps to hydrate and condition your skin THE inkey LIST - Hyaluronic Acid Serum($8) VS. The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 ($7)Ingredient Winner: Tied. The Inkey List contains Peptides to help soothe and plump the skin, Glycerin to draw in moisture, and radish root ferment. The Ordinary has Ahnfeltia Cocinna Extract to hydrate the skin. Vitamin C (Ascorbic Acid): brighten pigmentation and dark spots, protect against free radical damage throughout the day. While it is a very unstable ingredient, it could be very effective when it’s put in a stable formula. Ingredient Winner: The Ordinary - Vitamin C Suspension 30% in Silicone($7): It’s a water-free formula, but also has squalene, coconut alkanes, which is great for hydrating and moisturizing the skin. Experience & Performance Winner: THE inkey LIST - Vitamin C Brightening Cream($10): very lightweight on the skin, and Hyram never had sensitivity while using this product.  Glycolic Acid: dissolves all the dead skin cells off the surface of your skin to make your skin glow and hydrated Ingredient Winner: The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution($9): the primary ingredients have Glycerin, a bunch of different amino acids, and Panax Ginseng Root Extract to support the health of the skin Experience & Performance Winner: THE inkey LIST - Glycolic Acid Liquid Toner 100ml($11): no sensitivity reaction but still effective for exfoliating the face  Cleaners: The Ordinary - Squalane Cleanser($8)THE inkey LIST - Salicylic Acid Acne + Pore Cleanser($10), THE inkey LIST - Oat Cleansing Balm ($10), THE inkey LIST - Oil and Water Double Cleanser($10)Ingredient Winner: The Inkey List Experience & Performance Winner: The Inkey List Oat Cleansing Balm ($10): incredible for moving sunscreen, oil, and dirt from the face  Moisturizers: Winner: THE inkey LIST - Hemp Oil Cream Moisturiser ($13): good for reducing redness; THE inkey LIST - Snow Mushroom Hydrating Gel Moisturizer($10): great for reducing sensitivity; THE inkey LIST - Multi-Biotic Balancing Moisturizer($13): great for healing the healthy bacteria count on your skin The Ordinary - Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA($8): it is good but in comparison to The Inkey List it just doesn’t stand out  Check the link below to watch more from Hyram, and let me know if you have any thoughts.💖💖 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Znd29c8mTo&feature=emb_title

My daily skincare routine :) In the mornings, I also use LUMENE - Nordic-C Glow Boost Essence Serum 30ml but I ran out and need to buy more, I love the way this serum makes my skin look and feel. It makes me look more radiant, and makes my complexion less uneven. 1.) First, I use the PACIfICA - Cosmic Hemp Balancing Face Wash morning and night, and I’ve used this face wash for about 4 months now and I’ve bought it twice. Makes my skin more relaxed and look less stressed, really helps with unevenness. This is a more light-weight face wash, but it helps with stressed and bumpy skin. 2.) The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% I use this after my face wash, and I love this serum so so much!! And so cheap for the quality!! $7. I got my mom to use The Ordinary now, too. This serum helps with oily skin, redness and blemishes and I can definitely tell the difference after use :) 3.) TATCHA - The Water Cream This moisturizer changed my skin completely!! I started out using this as a sample size from my Ipsy bag, and bought a few more sample sizes after that. I decided to just buy the bigger container instead of spending $20 every 2-3 weeks. The one that I have is a little bigger than average, and I think it was about $86, and the regular size is around $68. Although not the most affordable, this moisturizer makes my skin so so smooth and got rid of fine lines on my face, I would highly recommend this product to anybody. 4.) PACIfICA - Pore Warrior Oil Fighter Booster Serum (Only at night) I really like Pacifica, and I think it is an underrated brand. I can tell this serum has done good things for my skin, my pores look a little smaller, but it isn’t any life changing. I think this is $12, and you can get it at Target or Walmart. 5.) GLAMGLOW - BRIGHTEYES Illuminating Anti-Fatigue Eye Cream I also got this product from one of my Ipsy bags, and I’ve been using it instead of my Burt’s Bee’s eye cream, which is also really good. I can tell this cream has helped minimize my puffiness and dark spots underneath my eyes.

My favorite serums for every need!
Ones for skin texture. Ones for firming/hydration. Ones for discoloration. I have acne combo skin! One of my biggest difficulties is acne and the marks that they leave behind! NATURIUM - Niacinamide Serum 12% Plus Zinc 2% is for skin texture and controlling oil/sebum, and pore reducing. It also can have some moisturizing benefits so I like to use when I use my rerun-A. The texture is gel-like and it isn’t sticky at all. It’s pretty smooth and creamy. I like using this as an active, right after my toner. primera - Wild Seed Firming Serum is new to me but so far I love it so much! It is creamy and almost milky but it goes on the skin so well and gives a really pretty glow to the skin. It has a ton of skin loving ingredients and is packed with nutrients. I use this as an extra hydration step and I also put it under my eyes to help with fine lines. It is supposed to help with firming the skin and boosting elasticity. GOOD MOLECULES - Discoloration Correcting Serum is a holy grail already! It’s a newer product to the brand but this stuff works SO good. It is tranexamic acid (cetyl tranexamate mesylate) and 4% niacinamide, this lightweight serum improves the appearance of age spots, acne scars, hyperpigmentation, and sun damage. I mainly use this at night and if my skin is irritated I will use it as a spot treatment on my hyperpigmentation spots. #cheriepartner

NATURIUM first impressions
if you haven’t seen one of my recent posts on why I won’t be repurchasing The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% then check it out!! my girl @Beautycation_by_shrutirecommended me naturium! they came in the mail yesterday and I was so excited to try them out ! my skin can be really sensitive when it comes to picking and popping things on my face (which I try and limit myself to as it is not good for the skin!!!). I had a couple prominent whiteheads that I needed gone! with this, it left irritation in those areas, which is super common for me and can take hours for this redness and irritation to go away. not even an hour later, these areas looked like I didn’t even suffer from irritation !! when I woke up this morning, my skin was GLOWING! i repeat, GLOWING! NATURIUM - Niacinamide Serum 12% Plus Zinc 2% it’s a thinner consistency than the ordinary one and isn’t as sticky when you first apply it. it has niacinamide, zinc, hyaluronic acid and vitamin e 🤩 although I have only used this twice so far, I am loving it !!!! NATURIUM - Azelaic Topical Acid 10% this product has niacinamide, coffee seed extract and vitamin c as well as azelaic acid which is amazing for me because I have wanted to start using vitamin c. it does have a funny smell to it I will admit. this product is supposed to help with minimising skin imperfections such as congestion, redness, dullness and discolouration. as I mentioned above, right after using this product my skin where I picked was not red and all ! I was expecting a little bit of scarring from the pimples but there was none! with how much I am loving these products already, I will definitely be looking into by more products from this company ✨✨

Favorites in AHAs for Fall ready glow ✨
I am huge a fan of Alpha hydroxy acids. If you know me I have been reaching for AHAs since the start of my skincare journey. I believe they have helped me a lot with my bumpy texture, closed comedones and hyperpigmentation. AHAs are amazing in skincare as they do a lot of things. If there's one thing I would choose from all the skincare ingredients is AHAs. For people who need a little more introduction to AHAs. They're A- hydroxy acids - a class of chemical compounds that can be either naturally occurring or synthetic. Many are derived from organic sugars, with glycolic acid (from sugar cane) and lactic acid (from milk) the best-known and best-researched of the bunch. In over-the-counter products, AHAs offer chemical exfoliation as an alternative to manual exfoliation, working primarily by dissolving the bonds between skin cells to allow the removal of dead cells and a subsequently smoother skin surface. AHAs benefit skin in many ways and they target specific skin concerns while chemically exfoliating skin. The major benefits are : ✨ Exfoliate skin ✨ Help getting rid of Acne scars/dark spots/Post Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation/melasma ✨ Reduce irregular/bumpy texture ✨ Smoothens skin surface (resurface) ✨ Reduce the look of pores ✨ Brighten and tighten skin ✨ Can be pretty gentle to potent depending on the type of AHA it is There are many Acids that fall under AHA category. Like : ✨ Glycolic acid - The most potent, smaller molecular size, pentrate deeper into skin, can be harsh for sensitive skin types. ✨ Lactic acid - Less potent than Glycolic acid, a little larger molecular size, doesn't irritate skin as it doesn't penetrate deeper. Better for sensitive skin. These two are mainly used in skincare formulations but there are more acids which can be beneficial based on personal issues. The full list of AHAs: ✨ Glycolic acid ✨ Lactic acid ✨ Malic acid ✨ Citric acid ✨ Tartaric acid ✨ Mandelic acid These are some of my favorite AHA products. I picked these as they're my staples, I like some other products too that I'll include in some other post. 1. @theordinary Glycolic acid 7% toning solution The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution 2. @sundayriley Good genes All-in-one Lactic acid treatment SUNDAY RILEY - Good Genes Lactic Acid Treatment 3. @drdennisgross Alpha Beta Pore perfecting and refining serum Dr Dennis Gross - Alpha Beta Pore Perfecting & Refining Serum 4. @glowrecipe Watermelon Glow sleeping mask GLOW RECIPE - Watermelon + AHA Glow Sleeping Mask 5. @tula Pro-glycolic 10% resurfacing gel TULA SKINCARE - Pro-Glycolic 10% Resurfacing Toner These all work great if you want results. They gave me results within a week and with consistent use, I see improvements in my skin.

Self care Sunday Routine
I’m really into giving myself a day where I can relax. Being in optometry school I usually do not get a full day to just relax, but I still find times on the weekends because I know it is important. I typically take Friday nights off to catch up on Whatever show I am watch. And on Sundays, I add more time to my schedule to wind down and relax. So what are my Self care Sundays like? I start off will doing a good stretch still in bed. This helps me just slowly wake up up but also not think about anything for a good minute before actually starting school work. School work on a self care Sunday? Yes you heard that right. I have school work. I am trying to become a eye doctor soo I always have something to do. After drinking coffee and stressing my brain from my school work I like to wind down. How do I wind down and end my self care Sunday? I start off with a hot shower. I’m not the bath type of person but you can do that too and it will be relaxing I double cleanse my face. I really only double cleanse on Sundays and Wednesdays. Look at my pervious post to see what products I use I then exfoliate my face. I try to exfoliate 2 times a week as well. I typically just use whatever exfoliate I have at the moment. If you have any recommendations let me know, please. I then place a wet super warm clean washcloth over my face for about 5 minutes or until cool. Eye tip:if you have dry eyes try doing this 2 times a day for 5 minutes then a light messages on your eyelids afterwards. I apply a face mask. Today I used: NATURE REPUBLIC - Real Nature Chamonile Mask Sheet this face sheet mask was okay. I just not a huge fan of sheet mask in general. I then use TULA SKINCARE - Pro-Glycolic 10% Resurfacing Toner If you have looked at my pervious post you will know this is a staple. I then use TULA SKINCARE - Cooling & Brightening Eye Balm and TULA SKINCARE - 24-7 Moisture Hydrating Day & Night Cream I like both of these products but the eye balm I like to use more in the morning. I then just relax and drink some tea and end the day watching more shows. Other tip Have some diffuser with your favorite essential oils in for more relaxing time

I am not made for minimalism: Rate My Routine
So first I have to say the PEACH & LILY - Power Calm Hydrating Gel Cleanser was half off at Ulta and I decided to try it as my morning cleanser. That was a mistake and why I am broken out in these pictures. Pics are no makeup/filter. My skin is normal /dry. It is incredibly reactive. I can’t use any actives not retinol not HA nor any of the acids. I have one age spot because I avoid the sun like a plague and always wear sunscreen and a hat. This is why my skincare system is so simple and focuses on adding moisture. CAUDALIE - Make-Up Removing Cleansing Oil An HG Product. It feels great and makes a nice clean start to the day. Also fragrance free!!!! AM ONLY: fresh - Soy Makeup Removing Face Wash I keep coming back to it because it doesn’t irritate my skin or cause breakouts but I don’t really love it. It works. Meh. PM ONLY: OSEA - Ocean Cleanser I can’t use this every wash because of the lactic acid but it is incredibly effective at making my face glow and getting rid of acne scars and breakouts. I wash my face and then let it sit for two minutes (a cherie trick) and wow does that make a huge difference. It has a distinct smell that takes some getting used to and it produces a tiny bit of foam that you really don’t want to get in your eyes. acwell - Licorice pH Balancing Cleansing Toner I like the way this product feels. My skin feels fresh after I use it. The texture is really thin and it takes a while to absorb. H2O+ - Hydration Sensitive Essence I haven’t decided how I feel about this product yet. I am allergic to the moisturizer and the cleanser in this line. I do like the milky texture and the way it doesn’t lay on my skin but seems to absorb while I am not paying attention. Krave - Great Barrier Relief My great HG love that keeps my face from drying out. Let us never be separated. KINSHIP - Pimple Potion Retinal + Salicylic Acid Acne Treatment is slowly, but surely, getting rid of the milia on my chin. It is this orange-yellow color and has a thick lotiony texture. innisfree - Olive Real Power Cream Ex. A little goes a loooong way. I have struggled to find a moisturizer because I was applying lotion 5-6 times a day and DE isn’t cheap. This is 1/3 of the price and works 4x as well at keeping my face moisturized. It has a pleasant citrus smell and the whipped gel texture is nice. dear, klairs - Fundamental Nourishing Eye Butter This has a really nice creamy but not to thick texture. I use it twice a day and my eye bags have been reduced by 90%. The container is a pain to deal with and dispense product from. AM (Coming Soon) Krave - The Beet Shield How am I doing?

Peptides for all skin types for youthful skin
Peptides in skincare are so important and effective, they might not be one of those actives where you see your skin brightening, exfoliating but they definitely add up to your moisture game! ✨Know a little bit about Peptides: Peptides are amino acids that are the building blocks of certain proteins needed by the skin, like collagen and elastin. Using a serum or moisturizer that contains peptides can lead to firmer, younger-looking skin, and maybe even fewer breakouts. Peptides are generally considered safe, and while they’re a promising skin care ingredient, more research is needed on their efficacy. They're so effective in strengthening your skin barrier and giving that suppleness to your skin. For more youthful looking skin add it in your skincare routine along with Humectants like Hyaluronic acid and Panthenol. I've beein using this Bio-mimicking peptides by @katesomerville. Kate Somerville - Kx Active Concentrates Bio-Mimicking Peptides Serum I'll tell you shortly, I like it. This serum has high-performance concentrate with a signature blend of five peptides that work together to refresh and renew skin as it firms, smooths, and hydrates. ✨Highlighted Ingredients: - Complex of Five Peptides: Visibly improve skin elasticity, rejuvenation, and moisturization while reducing wrinkles and fine lines. - Chicory Leaf Extract: Acts as a natural alternative to retinol and helps to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, pores, and skin roughness. - Mango and Banana Pulp Extracts: Improve radiance and luminosity while helping to smooth the appearance of wrinkles. No matter what your age and skin type is Peptides can be useful. Especially now as we are transitioning into our fall routine, you can add peptides either in serum, toner or moisturizer form and they'll definitely keep your skin moisturized. I always like to remember the key to softer, smoother looking skin is hydration and moisturizing elements. ✨My experience and results I saw: -This serum made my skin very supple at the end of the day. -I use it in the morning along with my @theordinary Hyaluronic acid and @innisfree Panthenol toner The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 innisfree - Truecare Panthenol 10 Moisture Skin - There is slight brightening and lightening experience. - It's fragrance free and has a little thick consistency but it absorbs well and quickly into the skin. - My tip is to use it when your Menstrual cycle begins, it will nourish and replenish the dull skin as well as strengthens it. Do you like peptides??

Innisfree Truecare Line
▶️ innisfree - Truecare Calamine 6.5 Cleanser - balanced gel cleanser formulated with calamine and tea tree to provide a soothing cleanse to the skin. This was a basic cleanser that effectively cleansed my skin without stripping it. Does contain fragrant ingredients that gives it an herbal citrus scent. ▶️ innisfree - Truecare Panthenol 10 Moisture Skin - watery toner that contains 10% panthenol, orchid, camellia, and green tea to hydrate the skin. This was my favorite product from the set since it’s a simple toner that felt weightless on the skin. It doesn’t leave a sticky finish, and I like to apply 1-2 layers to adequately hydrate my skin. ▶️ innisfree - Truecare PHA Toner Pad - toner soaked pads containing PHA, ceramide, panthenol, sodium hyaluronate, and allantoin to gently exfoliate the skin. I’m not sure this did anything for my skin since I didn’t see any noticeable difference. It was very gentle though. ▶️ innisfree - Truecare AC Soothing Ampoule - watery textured ampoule that contains panthenol, beta-glucan, and propolis, to hydrate and soothe the skin. I wasn’t impressed with this since there was very little product in each packet, and the results were lackluster. ▶️ innisfree - True care Moist Recovery Cream - thick balm like moisturizer to help form a protective barrier over the skin. This was a nice occlusive cream for night use but again, this also didn’t really have any noticeable difference on my skin. Just a basic moisturizer. ▶️ innisfree - Truecare CICA Intensive Balm - gel textured balm that contains centella asiatica, squalane, arbutin, and green tea to protect the skin and improve skin irritations. This was a pretty nice cream that left a hydrating skin finish. I didn’t really notice a big difference with my skin though. ▶️ innisfree - Truecare Non-Nano Sun Screen SPF48 PA+++ - peachy tinted physical sunscreen that uses uv filter titanium dioxide to protect the skin from uv rays. This has a lightweight creamy texture that easily spreads across the skin. It leaves a nice skin finish with a glowy sheen. I didn’t like this because it leaves a gray white cast. Not suitable for darker skin types. I did like the mattifying effect.

Sensitive Acne Prone Routine
Sensitive Acne Prone Routine
Hi there! I have superrrrr sensitive skin that breaks out to everything so I’m here to help out anyone else’s face that hates them too. I have three different night routines that I do in order to not pile on a bunch of products in one day. Am 🦐 splash face with water 🦐 CeraVe - Ultra-Light Moisturizing Lotion SPF 30 For Normal To Oily Skin 🦐 Neutrogena - On-the-Spot Acne Treatment I don’t use a cleanser in the morning, with my sensitive skin, washing it twice makes it too overly irritated. Instead, I wash it with water and follow with a gentle skin moisturizer/SPF, and spot treatment as needed. Pm A - Acne-fighting 🦖 CeraVe - SA Smoothing Cleanser 🦖 The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% 🦖 DIFFERIN - DIFFERIN Acne Treatment Gel 🦖 CeraVe - Daily Moisturizing Lotion For Normal To Dry Skin The SA cleanser is very gentle and effective for diminishing breakouts, and doesn’t strip the skin of its natural barrier. This is super important if you are using treatments, as too many can be damaging. I follow up with a water-based serum (niacinamide) that targets oil production, acne, hyperpigmentation, and dark spots. Then finish with an acne treatment and moisturizer. Pm B - Calm routine 🪐 BURT’S BEES - Face Cleanser for Sensitive Skin 🪐 The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% 🪐DIFFERIN - DIFFERIN Acne Treatment Gel 🪐 CeraVe - Daily Moisturizing Lotion For Normal To Dry Skin I have a “calm” routine to take a break from other treatments I do during the week. My skin gets really irritated if it’s bombarded with a ton of products so I use this night as a breather for my skin. Typically that means the differin gel as well as niacinamide and moisturizer. Pm C - Brightening routine 🍌 pūrlisse - Watermelon + Charcoal Purifying Cleanser 🍌 The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution 🍌 LUÉ by Jean Seo - BALANCE 🍌DIFFERIN - DIFFERIN Acne Treatment Gel 🍌 CeraVe - Daily Moisturizing Lotion For Normal To Dry Skin This one is my favorite! The watermelon cleanser is my favorite thing I’ve put on my face. It’s gentle, brightens, and doesn’t leave my skin feeling tight or dull. It makes my skin glowy and supple and I’m close to dying for it. Glycolic acid is a chemical exfoliant that brightens, smooths skin texture, and uneven tone, as well as working as an acne fighter!! It’s greta if your skin can tolerate it. If not, I’d go with The Ordinary - Lactic Acid 10% + HA. Next, I like to put in a calming serum for hydration and letting my skin calm the f*** down from the exfoliant. Then typical moisturizer and differin gel. I hope this helped for those of you that are looking to treat your face without pissing it off! Good luck to all you SSPs!

Thoughts on Morning Skincare Routine?
Thoughts on Morning Skincare Routine?
Hey everyone! I’m so impressed with the Cherie community and how much I’ve learned from others on this site already that I thought I would share my morning skincare routine! For context: I am a 24 year old who in the past year has struggled with moderate adult acne (only along the chin/jawline). In the past few months I have become very passionate about skincare and finding a skincare routine that works for me! Please leave any comments below if you have suggestions for me to add/replace in my routine! I am still somewhat new to the skincare community so any and all suggestions and comments are welcome!!☺️ First I cleanse with CeraVe - Acne Foaming Cream Cleanser while I am in the shower and I leave this cleanser on for about 2 minutes before washing it off. I love benzoyl peroxide because I found it is one of the only ingredients to be effective in fighting acne (salicylic acid didn’t do the trick😭). Second I follow with The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution for my daily exfoliation. I know it’s controversial to use glycolic acid in the morning but I’ve had a lot of people tell me it’s okay to do as long as you are following it up with a good moisturizer and sunscreen! I have some acne scarring (just redness) along my chin and jawline and I have found overtime this product has worked wonders to diminish those scars! Third I use 1% clindamycin which was prescribed by the doctor for my acne and it has been absolutely amazing combined with the benzoyl peroxide! Fourth I apply NATURIUM - Niacinamide Serum 12% Plus Zinc 2% I love this formulation and I use it mainly to help with the acne scarring that has occurred. Although it can be a little sticky, it gives your face a really nice glow that I just love. Fifth I apply NATURIUM - Vitamin C Super Serum Plus this product contains a cocktail of fabulous ingredients, and I find that the combination of this with the Niacinimide has just strengthened my skin. Sixth I apply one of my favorite products ever CeraVe - Moisturizing Cream For Normal To Dry Skin This product has been a life savior as it is non-comedogenic, fragrance free, and so hydrating! Truly an incredible product! Finally I apply elta md SKINCARE - UV Clear Broad Spectrum SPF 46 I absolutely love this sunscreen because it’s formulated by dermatologists specifically for people with sensitive or acne proned skin. I absolutely love that it comes in a tinted version so it doesn’t leave a white cast, and it’s a great base for makeup! My one complaint is that it is a bit expensive for a small bottle. However, if you’re willing to pay the money it’s definitely worth it! That’s my routine! Please comment and let me know what you think/suggestions you have:)

Week 6 of Tretinoin + Progress
Week 6 of Tretinoin + Progress
Looking back on my progress (Before and after) This is the end of my sixth week going on Spirinolactone (pills for hormonal acne that I take 1x a day) and Tretinoin. I purchased both treatments from Apostrophe, so they have been prescribed by a dermatologist. My Apostrophe cream formula is 0.025% Tretinoin and 4% Niacinimide. I have normal, but dehydrated skin. I’m looking to add more in as I adjust to treatment. My routine is as follows: AM HONEST - Gentle Gel Cleanser dear, klairs - Supple Preparation Unscented Facial Toner COSRX - Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence HONEST - Hydrogel Cream PURITO - Centella Green Level Unscented Sun SPF50+ Supergoop! - Glow Stick SPF 50 (I use his to reapply SPF every 2 hours) PM DHC - Deep Cleansing Oil dear, klairs - Supple Preparation Unscented Facial Toner COSRX - Hydrium Centella Aqua Soothing Ampoule 40ml HONEST - Hydrogel Cream Apostrophe Tretinoin Formula CeraVe - Healing Ointment I can see my purging period slowly coming to a close. Whereas I got about (if we’re counting) 4 new bumps per day, I now get about 1 a day. And these ones disappear relatively quickly, so within 2 days max. The purging period is definitely the hardest because your skin is literally at its worst. All the congestion is coming to the surface. It’s really hard to lose sight of the progress you’ve made and feel like Tretinoin isn’t working so that’s why taking photos is important. So, I’ve chosen to show my progress from July 17 to today, September 3rd. This really gives me a glimmer of hope, as I was feeling pretty down while purging. Compared to others my progress is slow, because I slowly worked up to daily usage of Tretinoin. And every individual has a different experience with the purging period. For some it may last only 2 weeks or a month, and for others it may last 3-4 months. There’s no telling by looking at only other’s individual experiences how your experience will go. I really want to combat the hyperpigmentation left over from before and during the purging period (PIE and PIH). So once I’m sure my inflammatory acne is completely gone, I want to consider adding in another product to increase the speed at which my marks fade.
