Is Glowrecipe Hormonal Acne skin approved?

I was always a fan of Glowrecipe’s packaging and I had seen the episode when they appeared on Shark tank few years back. I was intrigued and wanted to try the brand but when it initially launched, the products were a little too pricey for me. I was willing to buy GLOW RECIPE - Watermelon + AHA Glow Sleeping Mask
the very first time and I know why I was gravitated towards this particular product. I was new to AHA/chemical exfoliants and this products sounded perfect to take a leap with it. This was very gentle on my sensitive Acne prone skin and didn’t irritate me too much. So I was happy with this one and I wanted to try more, guess we are never happy with no matter how much skincare right?😅 I went ahead and tried their GLOW RECIPE - Watermelon Glow Ultra-Fine Mist
and GLOW RECIPE - Watermelon Glow Pink Juice Moisturizer
Amazing!!! I felt in love... The mist is super fine almost like water diffuser but of course with Hyaluronic acid and Watermelon extract in it. It gives an instant cooling effect so my sensitive, inflamed (with acne) skin used to love the feel of it. It is oil-water infused mist meaning it has oil on top of water hence you have to shake well before misting👍. I never disliked or put it off my favorites list ❤️ The Pink juice moisturizer is the perfect moisturu for my Oily and combination skin type. It takes care of moisturizing my Oily part as well as locks the moisture on the dryer one. Perfect watery-gel that smells fresh like watermelon slushee and feels cooling on face 👍 The last one to try out for me wasGLOW RECIPE - Avocado Melt Retinol Sleeping Face Mask
And I’d be honest I didn’t like the formula. It’s thick, occlusive and rich cream one that’s but too heavy for my skin. This was the finish and texture, but I anyway give the product few chances to see if it’s really giving me any good results. It didn’t give the results I typically see with Retinols and Retinoids on my skin. Hence wasn’t my favorite in this line. ✨So far, I like the brand. The products are subtle, near to basic yet gently effective and perfect for people with sensitive skin types. ✨Although, heads up for the watermelon fragrance, if you’re sensitive to perfume in skincare, take a patch test. ✨It definitely was and is worth all the hype. The only downside is the price. It’s on high end side and I had a hard time purchasing these together 😅 What do you think of them?? Also dropping an illustration I’ve done for this image🤩❤️

Skin Update ✨✨
Okay this is a totally non filtered sun photo of my skin. Still working on minor texture this is due to my new skin routine (I posted about my morning and will post my night). I try and show my skin with new routines and products I use because I get so many ! The number one thing I will say is be consistent! I saw a post from @MelaninSkinCareAddict(great post you should go check it out) and I loved it and it inspired me to show results from some advice she saw. My last skin update was 12/22 which I showed a unfiltered close up of my skin and the breakout I had endure out of the states! I will say for texture, hyperpigmentation, and acne you need: effective vitamin C serum- should have vitamin E (tocopherol), hyaluronic acid, and Ferulic acid insta natural - Vitamin C Serum Mad Hippie - Vitamin C Serum retinol- DIFFERIN - DIFFERIN Acne Treatment Gel is my first go to, but now I use The Ordinary - Retinol 0.5% in Squalane GLOW RECIPE - Avocado Melt Retinol Sleeping Face Mask (I use this on nights I don’t use The Ordinary retinol oil .. 2xs a week) cleanser made for you skin: should be tailored and effective my current faves: Murad - AHA/BHA Exfoliating Cleanser (2x week) COSRX - Low PH Good Morning Gel Cleanser (only when I oil cleanse) (3xs a weeks when I wear my night mask) PEACH & LILY - Power Calm Hydrating Gel Cleanser (mostly for nights) toner: a great toner will be your friend! This is important for removing dirts and oils. If you wear makeup this is a necessity. PAULA'S CHOICE - Enriched Calming Toner Murad - Clarifying Toner innisfree - Jeju Lava Seawater Lotion sunscreen: at least spf30 TULA SKINCARE - Daily Sunscreen Gel Broad Spectrum SPF 30 ELEMIS - Daily Defence Shield SPF30 moisturizer: a great moisturizer is your friend! So my faves fresh - Lotus Anti-Aging Night Moisturizer at night SUNDAY RILEY - Tidal Brightening Enzyme Water Cream during the day for hyperpigmentation before sunscreen ✨✨✨✨ Other things I love that have helped COSRX - Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence I use this day and night after my toner. If you neee hydration this is my current go to! SUNDAY RILEY - U.F.O. Acne Treatment Face Oil I now use this on days I don’t use my vitamin C in the morning. PEACH & LILY - Glass Skin Refining Serum This has replaced my niacinamide from The Ordinary. If you want glass skin use this consistently! CLARISMA - Namaste Glow Energizing Face Mask I use this as my daily face mask once a week. I will be posting my detailed night routine soon as I’m redoing my entire on IG 🥰🥰

2020 Top 5 ✨
This year has been a whirlwind! These are my 2020 top 5s: 1. Product fresh - Lotus Anti-Aging Night Moisturizer I’ve been using this for almost 6 weeks now every night and whew! This kept my skin together at night even know as I am healing my moisture barrier. Fresh is definitely on my repurchase list and out of everything this is my everyday product. 2. Trend Retinol A lot of products and routine became “popular” this year. Out of all of these I’ve found this to be the most effective! My skin has cleared up (broke out again), evened out, and reduced in lines and it’s because I have kept a retinol based product in my Arsenal since May ! DIFFERIN - DIFFERIN Acne Treatment Gel The Ordinary - Retinol 0.5% in Squalane GLOW RECIPE - Avocado Melt Retinol Sleeping Face Mask Some of my faves ! 3. My Best Look This was my photoshoot when my son was 2 months old 💙 I spent about a good 2 hours on my makeup and hair that morning so I take pride in it, plus my son face is priceless. 4. Favorite Creators This was super hard! The way I narrowed down my choices were based on who’s post I saved the most. I don’t save a lot of posts so when I do it speaks to me that I enjoyed reading and I know that this persons experience was honest and thorough! I also have some few close but these were my top 4: @JaNeeReviews @skinwithlau @RedheadSkincare @madihomewood 5. What I learned “Great things never come from your comfort zone” I stepped outside of my comfort zone this year. I’m sure everyone did. Mines was personal to me because I started researching more and experimenting on a deeper level with my skin. I found myself trying things I knew nothing about and it felt great! Stepping outside of my comfort zone has been an amazing feeling .. scary but rewarding. I hope to never put limits on my goals and plans !

Treatments from My skin cabinet
Here I’m showcasing some of my time and money worthy Treatments! I believe these are the tried and true ones for me with few daily staples! For ease of understanding and review I’m going to use the ‘Tags’ like ‘Daily staples’ and I’ll give stars ⭐️. I really think if you’re Hormonal Acne girl like me, this could be a helpful snap of my skin cabinet ❤️ So, with first tag - 🤩1. ‘Daily Staples’ - SUNDAY RILEY - C.E.O. Vitamin C Rich Hydration Cream This is rich and thick in consistency so if you’re oily try using it in Winters. I use it in morning routine. I think it’s effective and will give you more brightened skin. LeeGeeHaam Vita Propolis Ampoule This is new skincare find for me, AMAZING! In love this baby😍 Totally worth it! It gives glowing, brighter and tighter skin in consistent use! ELEMIS - Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm This balm is Amazing! Works the best in removing every bit of makeup. The best part is it emulsified and washes well. Worth the hype! The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 The best HA that worked for me. It didn’t irritate my Sensitive skin. It’s sticky so is the best under makeup. Love it 😍 🤩2. ‘Not so favorite Treatments’ - SUNDAY RILEY - Martian Mattifying Melting Water-Gel Toner Didn’t give any visible results. The smell is a bit too off for me. Positive is it’s hydrating. GLOW RECIPE - Avocado Melt Retinol Sleeping Face Mask This held high hopes from me but unfortunately I didn’t find it Stunning. I believe there are other Retinols that work the best. This one is too occlusive for me, also it is a bit sticky and heavy unlike the Watermelon sleeping mask. The results weren’t amazing. Hence three stars from me. FIRST AID BEAUTY - Facial Radiance Pads This is okay in my opinion. Nothing too great, also not bad. I didn’t see any results similar to The ordinary glycolic acid toner. So, I’m not very impressed with it but I believe for someone who has very sensitive skin, this could be a decent treatment. 🤩3. ‘Favorite Treatments’ - SUNDAY RILEY - Good Genes All in One Lactic Acid Treatment This is AMAZING AMAZING! you will see the results in just one use. Gives glowing, brighter skin next morning. It helps with raised bumps and texture. Love it! TULA SKINCARE - Pro-Glycolic 10% Resurfacing Toner It works just as amazing as Good genes. Worth the money. It’s more like toner so it’s easy to use and also less irritating. THE inkey LIST - Retinol Serum one of my favorite Retinols. Works great, formula is amazing. Not too thin but absorbs quickly. I feel the only downside is the size, it’s just very little for what we get from other brands. ELEMIS - Dynamic Resurfacing Facial Pads Works very well. Gives results in one use. Easy to use because of individual pads. Doesn’t feel heavy. Kate Somerville - Kx Active Concentrates Bio-Mimicking Peptides Serum

Brand Breakdown: Glow Recipe
Hey y’all! In today’s Brand Breakdown, we’re talking about Glow Recipe. Glow recipe was founded in 2014 bu Christine Chang, and Sarah Lee, two Korean Americans. Today I’ll be breaking down the ingredients of 4 of their most popular products. Let’s start with the GLOW RECIPE - Avocado Melt Retinol Eye Sleeping Mask with is $42 for .5 fl oz. This face mask features retinol as the title suggests, and it also has avocado oil and extract, as well as coffeeberry. Avocado oil and extract have Vitamin E and C, and are also nourishing. Coffeeberry, which is the seed of a coffee plant, has a lot of antioxidants. It also has glycerin and squalane which are hydrating, as well as Nicinamide, Hylaronic acid, and aloe vera gel. I will mention that this product has a lot of potentially irritating extracts as well as fragrance. Next is one of their most popular products, the GLOW RECIPE - Watermelon + AHA Glow Sleeping Mask which is $45 for 2.7 fl oz. This mask has has 2 main ingredients. Watermelon extract, and Hylaronic acid. By this point y’all know all about Hylaronic acid (and if you don’t, check out my Skincare Acid Cheat Sheet), so let’s talk about watermelon extract. If you read my Brand Breakdown on Clean & Clear, you’ll know that watermelon extract is an amazing ingredient, and watermelon juice isn’t. Luckily, in this product it’s watermelon extract, which is very soothing and hydrating. This product also has glycerin and Glycolic acid in it. It does however have a lot of fragrance, irritating extracts, and alcohol. Next up is the #GLOW RECIPE - Papaya Sorbet Smoothing Enzyme Cleansing Balm Makeup Remover[products]#[ThreeStars] with is $32 for 3.4 fl oz. Supposedly the main draws of this product are papaya enzymes, papaya seed oil, and blueberry extract. Now blueberry extract and papaya seed oil are not very researched ingredients that have only minimal effects on the skin. Papaya enzymes are mildly exfoliating, but don’t do much else. The cleansing balm is pretty basic other than this. And finally is the #GLOW RECIPE - Pineapple Vitamin C Serum[products]#[TwoStars] which is $49 for 1 fl oz. The marketing for this product is around its pineapple juice and Vitamin C. This product is super lacking for the price. The same way watermelon juice is less good for your skin than watermelon extract (because it’s diluted), pineapple juice is less effective than pineapple extract. Other than that, this product has Vitamin C which is great but very mainstream. This product also has fragrance. Those are all the products I have for today. I would say they got gradually worse as we went on, which I didn’t even do on purpose. This brand is quite expensive for it’s actual formulations, and I think there are better brands that are cheaper. If you can splurge, splurge on Youth to the People instead. Please cheer for this post, follow me for similar content, and comment below your favorite Youth to the People product. -Mae

Cherie Made Me But It! 🍒 ✨🍉
Hi Cherie Fam 🍒 I came across @Mallory‘s post regarding the avocado sleeping eye mask 🥑 and the niacinamide watermelon drops 🍉. I was intrigued so I did some research and ended up ordering the make your own kit. It comes with 4 sample size items and a bag for $29. I thought I would try to sample the product first and see how it works on my skin before committing to a full size products. I got the •GLOW RECIPE - Blueberry Bounce Gentle Cleanser I heard this cleanser is great for removing make up. I read the ingredient list and I am sold. I can never say no to a gentle cleanser • GLOW RECIPE - Watermelon Glow Pink Juice Moisturizer I am looking for a new day time moisturizer and this seems perfect. This smells so good. It has a thin consistency and feels cool on the skin •GLOW RECIPE - Avocado Melt Retinol Eye Sleeping Mask I HAD to get this. Dark circles and hollow under eyes are a problem. It’s generic and I love how this contains retinol Glow recipe also included lots of sample items. I didn’t pick up the niacinamide drops because I still have lots from Paula’s choice. However, I am excited to try it and glad I got a sample I will post a review in a month or so and let you all know how it worked out. Xoxo, Francesca 💋

Sadly Disappointed :(
I bought the GLOW RECIPE - Watermelon Glow Pink Juice Moisturizer with high hopes after seeing it everywhere with glowing reviews, but I am sad to say that this moisturizer is a no from me. The two stars that moisturizer has are due to the fact that it is a delight to apply. I almost want to keep using it solely due to the smell, which is sweet and watermelony and do lovely. It also held true to be very lightweight and soaked into my skin quickly, without leaving a residue. However, that is everything good I have to say about the product. After about a week of using this, I noticed that my skin was so much more bumpy than normal, and I was getting blackheads where I usually never get blackheads, like on my cheeks (I normally just get them on my forehead and nose). I found these problems really interesting, especially since everyone seems to love this product and I haven't heard anyone else have these problems like I have had. My guess is that my skin, which is on the oilier side, can get very dehydrated very easily. Even with using other moisturizing products, I don't think the GLOW RECIPE - Watermelon Glow Pink Juice Moisturizer gives me the amount of moisture I need to make my skin happy. This probably caused my skin to produce more oils that caused the blackheads. As for the texture, although I don't consider my skin to be especially sensitive, it could be the amazing smelling fragrance that irritated it. My recommendation is that if you are using a lot of moisturizing products in your routine and your skin can withstand some heavy frangrance, this moisturizer would make a pretty good serum for you, as I can't imagine it being a proficient stand-alone moisturizer (but in that case, I beleive there are better moisturizing serums for a smaller price). However, if your skin is easily dehydrated and requires more moisturizer, or if your skin gets irritated by frangrance, it's a sad no to this super cute product. Luckily, there is no shortage of moisturizers out there that you can use instead!

Dare to Go Bare with Glow Screen 💖
Hey Cherie Fam 🍒 Elta MD’s tinted sunscreen was my holy grail for years. What’s not to love? It’s tinted, contains Hyaluronic acid, it protects from UV light/sunlight and it’s fairly cheap ($28). elta md SKINCARE - UV Daily Tinted Broad-Spectrum SPF 40 I received Supergoop’s Glow Screen for Christmas and I’ve been using it obsessively since. I always skipped Supergoop because of the cost and Elta MD works for me. However, not only this sunscreen provides sun protection, it also provides light coverage that makes me glow. This makes me more confident on my no make up days and makes me feel like a highlighter princess! I love how this doesn’t accentuate my large pores or make my face feel super oily. This is also great as a primer and wear under makeup and provides major hydration. I love how this sunsceeen is also coral reef safe! Supergoop! - Glowscreen Sunscreen SPF 40 This product is a bit more pricy ($36) but it’s worth it because I use this as a sunscreen and as a primer. I don’t need to spend more $$$ when I run out of my primer. What is your current skin care holy grail? Xoxo, Francesca 💋

One Year Progress
Exactly one year apart! I started my skincare journey 9 months ago. I primarily use Glow Recipe, but am slowly venturing out and replacing my lesser favorites of their products. These are some of my tips and holy grails! GLOW RECIPE - Banana Soufflé Moisture Cream holy crap this stuff really helped my redness, that was my biggest skin concern 2-3 times a week I do a chemical and physical exfoliant, I got this one in a boxy charm box and fell in love. I would recommend doing this in the shower and leaving it on your face for a couple minutes to really absorb the acids. Also I would recommend skipping the serums and night masks after this. Just use toner, eye cream, and moisturizer. Murad - AHA/BHA Exfoliating Cleanser I mix a vitamin C serum in with my AHA every other morning. I’m undwerwhelmed with GLOW RECIPE - Pineapple-C Bright Serum I don’t hate it, but I think I can find better once I run out. However I love their GLOW RECIPE - Plum Plump Hyaluronic Acid Serum it is gentle enough (for my skin) to use every morning and night, and one pump is all you need! double cleansing is a must! I’ll just use the tiniest bit of GLOW RECIPE - Papaya Sorbet Smoothing Enzyme Cleansing Balm even when I’m not wearing makeup because it has a lot of good ingredients for your skin. However if your skin is feeling dry, I’d skip it and just use a water based cleanser. I am also underwhelmed with GLOW RECIPE - Blueberry Bounce Gentle Cleanser I’m going to use it for before and after my workouts, but not worth the price point. Plus it is irritating if it gets in your eyes. I just ordered FARMACY - Whipped Greens: Oil-Free Foaming Cleanser With Moringa and Papayafor my morning and night cleanser and I am beyond excited to try it. a nice spray is a must! I use it after I cleanse and after I shower. J.R. WATKINS - Heritage Store Rosewater & Glycerin Spray this stuff is soo good!! My face is so soft after I have to force myself not to touch it. I loved GLOW RECIPE - Watermelon Glow Ultra-Fine Mist but I got to say I like the Heritage one and it is wayy cheaper. don’t be afraid of supplements! I just got some vitamin E supplements and I’ve been taking magnesium and collagen everyday too. lastly look into anti-aging pillows and silk/satin pillowcases. This is especially important for side sleepers. If you sleep on your side, you are smushing your face against it. When you are young, your skin is elastic enough to bounce back, but you’re hurting your skin over time. YourFacePillow - Anti Wrinkle Back & Side Sleeping Pillow

I’d rather get coal than...
GLOW RECIPE - Watermelon Glow Ultra-Fine Mist was a product I initially purchased because of the hype....and never ended up using. 😒 I am a huge fan of hydrating mists but this just didn’t do it for me. Living in a desert I absolutely always keep a mist on hand and this bottle has one of the best spritzing mechanisms that delivers such a perfect mist that I wish I had loved it. (Note: YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Adaptogen Soothe + Hydrate Activated Mist with Reishi + Ashwagandha is the best if you’re looking for one!) Downfalls: Added fragrance- Glow Recipe is known for its popular watermelon scent. Contains small amount of apple cider vinegar which can be sensitizing. Clear bottle causes products to degrade - This was something I learned AFTER purchasing and was disappointing to hear. It’s meant to be stored in a cool dark cabinet or drawer. If you’re looking for just a fun hydrating mist and love watermelon, this is for you. For me, I felt I paid for scented water 🤭 opps, I said it! I’ve tried a few of Glow Recipes other products and some have been hits, others misses. I LOVED their GLOW RECIPE - Watermelon Glow Jelly Sheet Mask but they discontinued it 😩. I’ve also heard great things about their GLOW RECIPE - Watermelon Glow Pink Juice Moisturizer and hope to give it a try in the future. I hope you all have a Very Merry Christmas and don’t get coal! 🎄🤶 ❤️🍒 DISCLAIMER- I realize I have become a lot more HONEST with my reviews. It’s not that I wasn’t before I think it’s that I’ve learned a lot by taking a break from posting as often and spending more time doing research and learning about others needs, not just my own skincare concerns. So instead of just sharing that a product was say 5⭐️ for me, I’m trying to evaluate it more from a wider perspective. Example: the watermelon scent in this spray is not sensitizing to me but can be to others so I deducted a star for that.

Favorite Masks and textures for Maskne
Favorite Masks and textures for Maskne
I love textures.... I believe textures and feel of skincare product matter equally when it comes to using a product consistently. If you don't enjoy some textures and feel of one product you wouldn't use it for long time, leading it to not giving you any visible changes to skin. These are some of my favorite textures and masks /moisturizers for keeping Mask Acne (Maskne) at Bay! These are mostly pore refining, oil reducing and probiotic enriched products that will help your skin prevent acne caused by masks! Although, there's one ingredient missing in these is Salicylic acid (BHA) . Add BHA in your routine for clearing out congested pores and breakouts. Is Glow Recipe...the Right Recipe?
Is Glow Recipe...the Right Recipe?
Now this brand can be considered luxury with relatively high price points. Much like other luxury brands, a lot of the formulations have high amounts of fragrance which can be very irritating. GLOW RECIPE - Watermelon Glow PHA+BHA Pore-Tight Toner -Great source of proven hydrators and leaves a healthy glow -Antioxidant rich formula that is alcohol free. -Helps smooth texture. -Fragranced and the ph is outside of the ideal PHA and BHA needed to effectively exfoliate. GLOW RECIPE - Blueberry Bounce Gentle Cleanser -Contains a good amount of antioxidants. -Effectively removes dirt and oil then rinses cleanly without leaving the feeling of tight skin. -Stings eyes when used to remove eye makeup. -Contains fragrance which is potentially irritating and product cannot fight acne as claimed. GLOW RECIPE - Watermelon + AHA Glow Sleeping Mask -Lotion-gel texture that absorbs quickly and includes skin soothing ingredients. -Includes sodium hyaluronate and antioxidant rich plants. -Fragranced and packaged in a jar which can compromise the ingredients. GLOW RECIPE - Avocado Melt Retinol Sleeping Face Mask -Spreads easily and absorbs quickly which leaves skin hydrated. -Includes four forms of avocado which contains fatty acids and antioxidants. -Contains fragrance and is packaged in a jar which can put the ingredients at risk. GLOW RECIPE - Watermelon Glow Pink Juice Moisturizer -Lightweight, gel-like texture which is perfect for combination to oily skin. -Contains fragrance. -It also contains two kinds of antioxidant rich watermelon extracts. GLOW RECIPE - Watermelon Glow Jelly Sheet Mask -Mask has very moisturizing and soothing ingredients. -It’s easy to use and isn’t overly saturated -Contains fragrance which can be irritating GLOW RECIPE - Watermelon Glow Ultra-Fine Mist -Fog-like mist settles lightly while refreshing both skin and makeup. -Includes hyaluronic acid and soothing extracts. -Contains fragrance. GLOW RECIPE - Glow Lip Pop Lip Balm -Adds a sheer pink color that can be built up for more pop. -The balm doesn’t offer long lasting hydration compared to the best formulas of today. -Contains potentially irritating fragrance which can worsen dry lips. -Doesn’t exfoliate as well as claimed GLOW RECIPE - Papaya Sorbet Smoothing Enzyme Cleansing Balm -Lightweight cream that contains extracts rich with antioxidants. -Effectively removes makeup, dirt, oil, and spf. -Fragranced which can be irritating. Conclusion: This brand has too many products that have fragrance which can be very irritating to the skin. There are products with other issues such as packaging that can put the ingredients at risk and cause hygiene issues. Although I wouldn’t recommend this brand, the oil free moisturizer is actually pretty good.

First Laneige product which impressed me
First Laneige product which impressed me
Product claims: An overnight replenishing mask that delivers intense moisture to help soothe redness and strengthen the skin barrier for healthier, less stressed skin. Product target concerns: redness and dryness My experience: let me just tell you I never ever understood the hype behind laneige products because none of them worked for my skin. I had no expectations for this mask but OMG!! I got a deluxe size with one of my Sephora purchases and I wanted to pick up the full size only after one application! It’s so lightweight, so soothing, softening and I saw a lot of improvement in my skin redness. Also I used it for the the first time when I had an allergic reaction and I remember how my skin was so parched that night. It reduced my inflammation and really hydrated my skin. I use it twice a week and the consistency plus texture is really similar to summer fridays jet lag mask. Do I recommend this? Yes absolutely!! It’s an amazing dupe for SF jet lag Price: $34 for 2.0 oz

This was my first big skincare splurge EVER and I went with a cruelty free brand who I've heard raved about all over Instagram! This is the YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superberry Hydrate + Glow Dream Mask for 48 dollars. Don't be fooled by the picture this is actually quite a sizable amount, especially because you need so little at a time! The mask is packed with skin loving oils and hydrating ingredients to leave you with glowing morning skin. It smells heavenly and not sickly sweet, and it does dissipate after application. The texture is creamy and it doesn't feel heavy on my dry skin. It's definitely more for dry/normal skin as I think the oils would be too much for combo/oily skin! I was worried this product would break me out because I have sensitive skin but it is gentle and has not broken me out at all in the nearly 2 months I've been using it. Would I repurchase? Definitely! I'm going to make room in my budget for it 😂 If there are any drugstore dupes please let me know because I love a good deal lol

This is why you should by trial size first!
This is why you should by trial size first!
So I do this thing in order to try a bunch of different products and find the ones I love. I buy TRIAL SIZE FIRST! I can spend sooooo much money on skincare when I know I shouldn’t so I started trying the mini of products which financially speaking isn’t maybe the most “bang for your buck” but at least I spend $12 on something and not $38 before I find out I don’t really like it. Regardless, I buy trial size to determine if something is worth the splurge or not and then I am exposed to a bunch of new options to upgrade my skincare. I have wanted to try the OLEHENRIKSEN brand for a while and so when I saw the balance mini kit on sale I jumped on it. (Like literally jumped in the air when I received the package). So here is my honest opinion of these 4 products: OLE HENRIKSEN - Pore-Balance Facial Sauna Scrub let’s start on a high note. LOVED this scrub. Everything in this collection has menthol-y feel which is intensified if you do this in the shower which is usually how I do scrubs. (My routine is to exfoliate with a scrub whenever I wash my hair - every other day or so). My pores have never felt soooooo clear. It really felt like a sauna for my skin. Plus, my boyfriend (who I force to do skincare) said he felt like he was breaking out by his nose so I put this scrub on him and the pimple disappeared! 🥳 OLE HENRIKSEN - Balancing Force Oil Control Toner on to the toner. Gotta say, I didn’t love it. It makes my skin feel dry and tight and it burns a little bit. I don’t have particularly sensitive skin so I can imagine that it’s all the worse for those who do. I will say that my forehead and nose can get oily in the summer and that was taken care of with this toner. But overall, would not recommend. OLE HENRIKSEN - Counter Balance Oil Control Hydrator NOPE! Highly disliked this. One could even say hated. Does not provide moisture and it felt like it wasn’t adding anything to my skin just taking away. My face is not that oily so I think it’s just not the right moisturizer for me. If you know anything about me, it’s that I love moisturizer. OLE HENRIKSEN - Cold Plunge Pore Mask I liked but I didn’t love this mask. This was the product that I bought this set for and while I do like it, I’m not sure I would give it the same rave reviews that others have given. It applies very smoothly and has a cooling sensation when you are wearing it. The color is really pretty (see picture!) but that’s not a reason to buy a mask. Also: this set is supposed to shrink pores and I don’t really find that it did that for me but maybe it just takes a little more time. Overall, this was super surprising to me. I didn’t think I would love the scrub as much as I did and dislike the other things as much as I did. I will definitely be buying the full size of the scrub but jury’s still out on the mask.

GLOW RECIPE WATERMELON MASK 🍉
If your a mask junkie like me, you’ll definitely want to have this amazing sleeping mask. This mask is from Glow Recipe, and it is their Watermelon Glow Sleeping Mask. This mask is said to be a skin-smoothing, radiance- boosting nightly sleeping mask with watermelon, hyaluronic acid, and AHAs that will gently exfoliate and refine the look of pores. ••• This is best for Normal, Dry, Combination, and Oily skin types. And as mentioned, it helps target pores, dryness and oiliness skin concerns. ••• Unlike other masks, this is very lightweight and feels like jelly (a very bouncy one, lol). . . I really love how this product isn’t only cruelty-free but vegan as well so that was definitely a plus! Also, as for my experience with this product, I really do love and recommend it. Whenever I add it in my pm skincare routine, my skin looks hydrated, nice and glowing the next day. I don’t think I’ve had any breakouts using this mask at all. Overall, this is a very nice sleeping mask and I really do recommend getting it and trying it out! ••• For the mini size, $22 (1oz) GLOW RECIPE - Watermelon + AHA Glow Sleeping Mask vs the full size $45 (2.7oz)GLOW RECIPE - Watermelon + AHA Glow Sleeping Mask , the prices are very decent and reasonable in my opinion. Of course if your unsure, definitely worth to check out the mini size before purchasing the full size! The product shown in the picture is I believe smaller that the mini size (it’s more of like a sample sized) and I got a good amount of uses with it as a wash off mask and a sleeping mask. So I definitely can say that the mini size will be worth it to grab especially to test out how you’ll like it.
