Which Sunscreen is better for Oily skin type?
Being a girl with skin of color, I often worry about getting frequent hyperpigmentation and dark spots. I'm Indian, brown, which leads to the importance of sunscreen in my life more than anything! I had Active Hormonal Acne for several years. That caused me stubborn dark spots on my cheeks and I feel I'm still fighting with them after years. I am on my skincare journey to get rid of my hormonal acne but what's more important for me is the PIH (Post Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation). I can say Acne is easier to treat than hyperpigmentation for skin of color. And for that, Sunscreen plays a vital role. I have Oily/Combination skin type. And I always struggle to find a good Sunceeen formula that works good, doesn't irritate my sensitive skin and is non-greasy! I tried these three along with many others but I feel I should speak about these first. Neutrogena - Hydro Boost Sunscreen SPF 50

Bargain Find: Amazing Mineral Sunscreen
I found this beauty in TJ Maxx for $15 (retails at $27-$40) I love sunscreens that have benefits. I recently did a review on the TULA SKINCARE - Daily Sunscreen Gel Broad Spectrum SPF 30 which I still love I just find myself wanting something for my makeup. This Product: BIOSSANCE - Squalane + Mineral SPF 45 This left my skin so soft! I did a tester in the store after I bought (I was def going to return it if I hated it) and it was exactly what I was looking for! Ingredients: Squalane : Weightlessly locks in essential moisture THERMUS THERMPHILUS FERMENT: Ocean harvested enzyme with antioxidant properties to help reduce the effects of heat-inducing infrared (IR) light CHAMOMILE OIL & GINGER ROOT EXTRACT: Helps reduce the appearance of redness MINERAL LIGHT REFLECTORS: Reflects light to blur the look of fine lines, pores and other imperfections. Makes the perfect primer for makeup or to boost radiance on bare skin This protects against infrared lights. This makes up 50% of the suns light energy. It has been proven to amplify the damaging effects from UV radiation. My experience: I gave it 4 stars because it left a slight cast but it seemed more shimmers than anything. Also the smell wasn’t the best. Yet the benefits outweigh the negatives. Mineral Suncreen (easier on the skin) Squalane (great for hydrating) The two conjoined made this perfect what I was looking for.
OLE HENRIKSEN - Find Your Balance Oil Control Cleanser Is believe this works at the time I wasn’t using it right but I love the texture and how it smells. It had a minty smell so my skin feels fresh and clean once I rinse my face. Also it doesn’t strip all the oils out of my face. It is a little pricey retail $36 and I’m trying to stay in budget because skincare care can get expensive. LA ROCHE-POSAY - Lipikar Wash Ap+ Gentle Foaming Moisturizing Wash so I was using the one foe oily skin because my skin is oily especially in my t zone but since the season has changed my skin been feeling a little dry. I also double cleanse and I start with this one first and then the other one I mentioned. Very gently on my face. I love it. bliss - Clear Genius Clarifying Toner + Serum so after I rinse my face I go in with the aloe glow toner and I pat into my face then I go in with the bliss toner. What i love about this toner is how it feels on my face like it has a very smooth texture. My skins absorbs it so quickly. I like my face a little damp when I apply it fo r some extra moisture 💁🏼♀️ I mean who don’t want extra moisture 😌. Oh how did I forget to mention this it only cost $10 really affordable. The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 I definitely love this and the texture of it. I do apply it on damp face as well. It’s very hydrating like it states goes on skin well. Very affordable but I would like to try the Latic acid by ordinary because it has the hyraluronic ingredient. So if your skin is dry you can add this for extra moisture. My moisturizer is from a company called red rose naturals. I keep it in the refrigerator because it has natural ingredients but I don’t think it’s necessary that just me though. It’s kind of thick but not too thick. It doesn’t have a smell but I love how it feels on the face. This is also affordable I think I got it for 10 maybe less than that. I really don’t mind buying this again. We shall see!!!! TULA SKINCARE - Daily Sunscreen Gel Broad Spectrum SPF 30 ok y’all this this is amazing. I actually follow D.Bennett’s page and I saw this. Now I was using the supergoop unseen sunscreen at first but after using for a while it just wasn’t working for me. I loved that it doesn’t have a white cast but my skin would be oily like witching an hour or so. The Tula sunscreen has gel consistency and it blends right in. It does not have a smell because I try to stay away from fragrances. This is new to my skin regimen so I will be back to talk about my results soon. It’s 36 and I don’t mind spending that on sunscreen.

I’m Thankful for the Morning Glow
ESSENCE: SK-II - Facial Treatment Essence (Pitera Essence) I’ve been using this for years, I get it when I’m at a layover in Hong Kong or Korea so I get it significantly cheaper. However have I noticed anything? No. Nothing bad, nothing good. It is basically fermented rice for over $200. I have found so many dupes I’d like to try! NEOGENLAB - Real Rerment Micro Essenceor MISSHA - Time Revolution The First Treatment Essence Rx I are said to be better products for a fraction of the price so I will be buying when I run out!!! Fermented ingredients are wonderful for brightens, refining pores, hydration, improving texture, and is full of beneficial enzymes and peptides VITAMIN C: MAELOVE - Glow Maker Everyone needs vitamin c, and this is very reasonably priced, has a great formulation with vitamin E and ferulic acid, non sticky, and just disappears into the skin. TIP: Put in the refrigerator. I found that oxidising is just the nature of ascorbic acid, so this will prolong the life of your product! CeraVe - CeraVe Moisturising Cream I thought this would be too heavy, especially in the daytime. Nope! You can apply a little or a lot, it has Ceramides and totally does the job of moisturising and protecting that skin barrier, especially if you exfoliate a lot or use tretinoin. Do buy the one with the pump though! Neutrogena - Ultra Sheer Liquid Sunblock Broad Spectrum SPF 70 I love this because it’s super lightweight and rubs in so quickly! It does not pill, and I’m all for inexpensive sunscreen because you need A LOT. Ignore influencers who use a “pea size amount”. Not for sunscreen!!!! Slather it on!! Great sunscreens from Neutrogena are also Neutrogena - Hydro Boost Sunscreen SPF 50 and Neutrogena - Ultra Sheer Dry Touch Sunscreen SPF 55 . Dying dying dying to try PURITO - Centella Green Level Safe Sun!!! ✨✨Keep glowing!!✨✨
I wanted to love this SPF!
Guys! I wanted so bad to love the Neutrogena - Hydro Boost Sunscreen SPF 50 but it just did not live up to my expectations! I used this sunscreen for about two and a half weeks then I had to call it quits. On the first application I noticed it was very greasy, I already have quite oily skin so I felt like I didn’t need the extra layer of slick! I will say if you rub it in enough it gives you a cute glow??🙃 After two days of using it and changing noting else in my routine I noticed little bumps appearing on my face, mainly on my cheeks and chin (a little of my forehead) at first I was like maybe it’s something I ate, because I really didn’t want it to be the sun screen. As days went by the bumps got worse some formed little white heads and other just stayed there. I kept pushing through with the sunscreen but I figured it was the problem. Once I put the sunscreen down which was over a week ago my skin immediately cleared and went back to normal. I’m sad because it left no white cast making it a beautiful option for my skin but the reaction I had was just not cute. Plus finding a white cast free sunscreen in Australia 🇦🇺 is soo hard! I still encourage you guys to give it a try, my skin probably just didn’t like the ingredients. If anyone has good recommendations for sunscreen for black girls let me know cause your girl is in need!! Stay blessed xx

my skins progress
little backstory i’ve been dealing with acne since the age of 12. I’ve been breaking out due to genetics, hormones and stress. I managed to control my breakouts for a few years. i had very minimal blemishes and no blackheads or painful breakouts when i decided to try the CeraVe - SA Smoothing Cleanser At first my skin looked very clean and felt soft. in the matter of a week i had huge blackheads all over my cheeks, jaw, chin, and nose. I also had painful cycstic. my makeup looked terrible on my skin. i also had deep scars in my cheeks that where extremely visible when i wore makeup. after about 2 weeks i realized their was no way this was purging and discontinued use. i began using the CeraVe - Hydrating Face Cleanser For Normal To Dry Skin I began to purge and all the stubborn blackheads where coming out and would then turn into a pimple then go away. it took months for all the blackheads to come out and then wait for the pimples to go away. my skin is much more soft and raidiant and no longer dealing with the affects of over exfoliation. my routine DHC - Deep Cleansing Oil PM CeraVe - Hydrating Face Cleanser For Normal To Dry Skin AM/PM HERITAGE STORE - Rosewater Facial Toner AM/PM FARMACY - Honeymoon Glow Serum PM(1-2 times weekly) Aloe Vera from the leaf. helps a tone with irritation and inflammation AM/PM (not on nights of exfoliation) BIOSSANCE - Squalane + Vitamin C Rose Oil PM(not on nights of exfoliation) CeraVe - CeraVe Moisturising Cream AM/PM MARIO BADESCU - Rose Hip Nourishing Oil PM Aveeno - Protect + Hydrate Lotion Sunscreen Daily use i also use these masks regularly each 2 times max AZTEC SECRET - Indian Healing Clay OLE HENRIKSEN - PHAT Glow Facial Mask

**NO** White Cast Sunscreen 🧴☀️
**DISCLAIMER** Product packing and name has changed from photo - the new product is LA ROCHE-POSAY - UVidea XL SPF 50 Melt in Cream SPF50+ PA++++ I am a firm believer that skin ageing prevention is way more attainable then skin ageing treatment/s, and the best way to prevent is to wear a good spf sunscreen every single day! I personally will always opt for the highest spf coverage because the Aussie Sun is intense but also want a sunscreen that’s lightweight and super absorbent. I love this product by La Roche Posay as it delivers all of this and is one of the few sunscreen products that doesn’t leave a white cast under make up! It’s completely undetectable and also free from that sticky sunscreen smell! 🥴 From when I originally purchased, the brand has changed packaging and also increased the size from 30ml to 50ml AND created two product options (one for oily skin and one for dry skin). My skin tends to lean to the dry side so I prefer the extra hydration of the dry skin version. This is honestly such a good buy if you’re looking for the ‘everyday’ wear sunscreen at SPF50+ that’s not heavy, doesn’t leave a white cast and is perfect for sensitive skin! Will repurchase every single time! 🤩

The Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel Lotion Sunscreen is one of my favorite drugstore products! This is a sun protectant with an SPF of 50. It is also water resistant for 80 minutes. This sunscreen is perfect for people who have concerns with dry skin. The texture is a watery gel like lotion that is very hydrating. It leaves your skin soft to the touch and doesn’t have a terrible sunscreen scent. I purchased this because it was on sale at Ulta and the “Hydro Boost” line caught my eye. I actually love this sunscreen for the summer time because it feels so hydrating on my skin and also cooling because it is a water gel lotion. I didn’t get any breakouts from this, and my skin felt well protected. I would definitely recommend this product! It is a necessity in everyday life and this particular one is very affordable! I think it would be great for all skin types, but if you are very oily it might just make you look extra shiny. If you have dry skin I think this is amazing all year long, especially in the winter. If you are like me you get the most dry in the winter and sometimes nothing works! This will help! This one is $10 for 3 oz but you can always find this on sale!
Neutrogena-Hydro Boost Sunscreen SPF 50
Battle of the Sunscreens! ☀️
Hey guys! These two sunscreens- the Neutrogena - Hydro Boost Sunscreen SPF 50 and the NIVEA - Sensitive Protect SPF50 Sunscreen Lotion are two drugstore sunscreens that are literally the same price ($17 AUD). Some pros to both sunscreens: Are SPF50 Broad spectrum protection (I.e. both UVA + UVB rays) 4hrs water resistant After using both for about 6 months each, I have to say that the Nivea one is much better. Here are some reasons why: Nivea one is not irritating to the skin at all (has aloe Vera and chamomile) & does not peel (as opposed to the Neutrogena one). It leaves a nice glow that works well under makeup. I found with the Neutrogena one it had a greasy texture (despite claiming not to) and doesn’t work as well under makeup. The Neutrogena one made me look a lot more oilier (even though I used to only apply a little). The Neutrogena one made my skin feel almost dirty and would peel even if I just slightly ran my hands over my face). The scent was not pleasant either, especially in comparison to the Nivea one. Good for sensitive skin- although my skin isn’t sensitive, it still works very well for me. Doesn’t get into my eyes!!! This is a big one; the Neutrogena one would go into my eyes (and mouth sometimes too) and would be extremely irritating to my dry eyes even when I wouldn’t put it near them, causing them to water almost for the rest of the day. And oh god, if it went into my mouth, it would leave an almost poisonous taste in my mouth that I couldn’t get rid of no matter how much I ate/how much water I would have. Is 200ml so lasts a long time (compared to 88ml). Has Vitamin E!! All in all, I would recommend the Nivea one- for the same price you can get more than double the amount of the Neutrogena one. It’s recommended that we apply about a teaspoon of sunscreen to our faces to get the max effect, so a larger size doesn’t hurt. When I used to use the Neutrogena one, I used to only dot it on my face and it looked super oily, and now I use the Nivea one which I can put about a teaspoon on and it blends in and looks glowy without looking oily. The only thing I’m concerned about is that it doesn’t claim to be non-comedogenic (like the Hydroboost sunscreen), but my pores have stayed the same and haven’t enlarged at all. That’s all for my review, hope you enjoyed! 🥰

Best Affordable Sunscreen - Neutrogena
I’ve been on the hunt for a good sunscreen that I can use under makeup and wouldn’t make my oily or change colors. I have found that with the Neutrogena sunscreen. I got the 3-pack at BJs and it has lasted for about a year now. A little goes a long way because the product is a little thick. It hasn’t made me break out which is a plus. Rating - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Neutrogena - Ultra Sheer SPF 45 Twin Pack

Battle of the Hyped Sunscreens
My skin type is combo oily that can lean more dry during the weather changes or just randomly. My skin concerns are acne, oiliness throughout the day and also dehydration. I’ve ranked these popular hyped sunscreens based on how they worked for me personally (going from favorite to least favorite). My favorite is Unseen because it’s a primer and sunscreen in one, is lightweight and I haven’t had an issue with pilling. I prefer SPF 40 or higher. . Supergoop! - Unseen Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 40 Key Ingredients: Complex Derived from Meadowfoam Seed (increases hydration levels), and Red Algae (helps protect against blue light emitted by electronic devices). Texture/Consistency: Gel Scent: None Price: $34 for 1.7 oz / 50 mL Experience: Is designed to be used as a primer, makes it quicker to get ready. It feels so lightweight, I can’t even tell that I’m wearing it throughout the day, doesn’t pill or make me oily. Repurchase/Recommend?: Yes, I definitely am going to purchase the full size of this! It simplifies my routine and lightweight. . Supergoop! - Play Everyday Lotion 50 Default Title Key Ingredients: Sunflower Extract (protects your skin from external environmental elements) and Rosemary Leaf Extract (has a calming effect on the skin and is rich in antioxidants). Texture/Consistency: Lotion Scent: None Price: $32 for 5.5 oz / 162 mL OR $58 for 18 oz / 532 mL Experience: It was too heavy on top of a moisturizer and made me look greasy, but applied by itself it was lovely (have a glow, but wasn’t too heavy). It also doesn’t pill when I put my makeup on. Repurchase/Recommend?: Yes, it would be more for people with dry skin, but it’s moisturizing enough to act as my moisturizer too so I apply it by itself (or on top of serum). . FIRST AID BEAUTY - Weightless Liquid Mineral Sunscreen SPF 30 Key Ingredients: Zinc Oxide (physical sunscreen that helps filter harmful UV rays) and Alteromonas Ferment Filtrate and Vitamin E (both help protect against environmental aggressors). Scent: None Texture/Consistency: Liquidy Price: $34 for 1.5 oz / 44 mL Experience: I love that this is tinted, it doesn’t leave a white cast at all! It is lightweight, easily sinks in, and doesn’t make me oily throughout the day. It also doesn’t pill at all, so easy to put makeup on after. Repurchase/Recommend?: Maybe, I just wish it was a higher SPF. . DRUNK ELEPHANT - Umbra Tinte Physical Daily Defense Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 30 Key Ingredients: Zinc Oxide (physical sunscreen that protects from harmful rays) and Algae Extract and Sunflower Sprout Extract (both protect against free radical damage). Scent: None Texture/Consistency: Lightweight Cream Price: $36 for 2 oz / 60 mL Experience: It feels heavy and doesn’t sink in all the way, plus pilled and made my CC Cream look cakey and terrible. Repurchase/Recommend?: No, it pilled badly and doesn’t work well with makeup on me.
