skincare routine | nighttime edition 🌙
This is my current nighttime skincare routine, one that I have to use daily if not I definitely notice a difference in my skin get next day. After cleansing with my LA ROCHE-POSAY - Effaclar Purifying Foaming Gel , I tone my face with the DICKINSON'S - Original Witch Hazel Pore Perfecting Toner removing any left over makeup that the cleanser may have missed. Next I follow up with the The Ordinary - Retinol 1% in Squalane which helps promote a youthful and rejuvenated appearance in the skin from the retinol, however it does make skin sensitive to sun exposure which is why I must use sunscreen in the morning. Then I apply the The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% which is both an oil control and acne treatment in one. For under eye puffiness or dark circles I use the dr. brandt - 24/7 Retinol Eye Cream which also contains retinol to reduce the appearance of fine lines and aging, as well as olive fruit to reduce redness. Lastly, I end my routine with the Neutrogena - Neutrogena Hydroboost Water Gel Moisturizer to seal everything in. This water gel is light yet efficient at retaining moisture and keeping skin soft. Updated Night Routine!
I had a lot of empties in January, so here is my updated night routine! I have a post detailing actives that I use and my schedule around those actives, so they won’t be included in this post. My first step is my double-cleansing step, I use the Dr Dennis Gross - Hyaluronic Marine Makeup Removing Meltaway Cleanser (📍)to remove SPF and makeup, which I really love, it’s very unique, but it doesn’t break me out at all. Then I use the LANEIGE - Cream Skin Milk Oil Cleanser (📍) to cleanse a second time, I really enjoy this too, my skin tends to freak out when it comes to Laneige’s fragrance, but this is fragrance-free!! After cleansing I steam my face with the Dr Dennis Gross - Pro Facial Steamer which I feel like has really helped the hydration levels of my skin. After that I’ll apply the TATCHA - The Essence Plumping Skin Softener (📍)which I also like, but I’m not sure how much it’s really done for my skin for what it’s worth. I’ll steam again, for about 30 seconds and then go into my PETER THOMAS ROTH - Water Drench Hyaluronic Cloud Serum which is the only serum that can truly repair my moisture barrier when I’m breaking out. Then my eye product is The Ordinary - Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG (📍)which I’ve been loving a lot too! My current winter moisturizer is the Dr. Jart+ - Ceramidin Cream which again, I like, but it feels like it puts a barrier on my skin, which kind of felt weird to begin with. After moisturizer, my last two steps are to treat any breakouts or spots with the Murad - Blemish Control Rapid Relief Spot Treatment and use something to lock it all in like the The Ordinary - 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Moroccan Argan Oil it does the job, but smells super weird. The only way I’ve been able to describe it is, picture the olive bar at a local grocery store, and the smell that comes from that. Not super pleasant, but it’s okay. 📍= product was sent to me for free
These are my ride or die
So, I have an autoimmune disease and I tend to have lots of inflammation. That being said, when I wake up puffy like a blow fish 🐠.... these are my life savers ! The Ordinary - Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG this little baby packs a punch! De-puffs and gives my eyes a wake up call!! It is unique in that it is not a cream. At first I wasn’t sure, but I’m hooked. One drop on each eye does the trick. Easy to apply, smooth and silky! Wake up those peepers with this little bottle of magic 🪄!! mizz bloom - JADE ROLLER this is my go to in morning to drain my lymphatic system. I keep mine in my skin fridge, so it is nice and cold! Add my serums and then have a nice little roll! De puffs my face and helps with contouring. T

YOU NEED THIS EYE CREAM!!!! I love it so much! 😍
I love this so much had to cut it open and use 😍 Do you love some product so much, you use every last ounce of it 😅❤️ I did with this eye cream! Let me tell you, If you have dark circles, dry under eyes, creasing, crows feet and discoloration (I had all these) YOU NEED THIS EYE CREAM!!!! 🤩 @nuria Defend Triple Action Eye Cream ✨Nuria - Defend Triple Action Eye Cream I had two of these and at first I used for some days loved it and for some reason it was laying under a pile of other eye creams I got later. Recently I was digging into my eye cream section and found it. I started using this again and I was surprised to why I left using this.😍 ☑️So, What is it? It's a lightweight gel eye eye cream made with: ✨Mulberry Root: helps improve the appearance of dark circles by brightening and evening out skin tone. ✨Ginseng: helps fight the appearance of wrinkles and helps give skin a more radiant and youthful appearance. Ginseng also helps balance the oil on your skin, making it suitable for all skin types. ✨Cucumber: helps reduce the appearance of eye puffiness thanks to its flavonoids and antioxidants. ✨Vitamins: help restore your skin’s antioxidant activity, preserve your skin health, and help prevent the visible signs of skin aging. ✨Antioxidants: combat free radicals, which can accelerate the skin aging process by damaging collagen and attacking healthy skin cells. ✨Sodium Hyaluronate: naturally occurring in your body, helps restore moisture to delicate under-eye skin. The main ingredients Ginseng and Mulberry root extract is what works magic for your under eyes. ☑️My experience: It lifted the discoloration I had around my eyes and diminished the look of fine lines and crows feet completely. It made my under eye area so plush and hydrated it looks plump with just one use. I have seen significant improvement in my dark circles and hyperpigmentation. I used this on one of my dark spots to see if it really helps getting rid of hyperpigmentation and it truly does!! I have a whole post made for Ginseng and how it helps with many skin concerns. I believe in Ginseng root and I truly love the Results it gives me 😍 You need to try this eye cream! I'm sure you won't be disappointed! ❤️
If you have Dark spots, PIH get Ginseng!
In my exploration and study if ingredients there are certain ingredients that stand out and are certainly hero ingredients but are way too underrated in certain parts of the world. One such ingredient is Ginseng. It is definitely not an unsung ingredient in East Asian culture for centuries. It's one of those ingredients Asian products include with as ease as humectants. ✨Then 'Why is Ginseng so popular and loved in Eastern beauty world' Certain key benefits of Ginseng are: 1. Skin brightener and helps in reducing hyperpigmentation: The herb acts as a skin brightener, aiding in the fight against photoaging and pigmentation and making the complexion look brighter, lighter and more youthful. Studies have found it can also inhibit the production of melanin, protecting the skin from the type of pigmentation caused by UV radiation, or sun damage. 1. Collagen booster, and then some: Several studies have found that ginseng is effective in increasing the production of collagen in the skin’s dermis, firming, toning and plumping skin and diminishing wrinkles and fine lines. 2. Complex complexion helper: 3. The skincare all-rounder helpful in treating everything from wounds to burns and other skin irritations such as razor rash. Ginseng’s anti-inflammatory properties and ability to naturally balance oil production within the skin mean it’s also effective in reducing acne outbreaks, as well as assisting in conditions such as rosacea and psoriasis. 4. Reduces Dark circles: Those same properties that fight against pigmentation make it highly effective in lightening dark under-eye circles, so look out for products with ginseng in the ingredients. 5. Fight hair fall It encourages hair growth by stimulating blood flow to the scalp and improving the health of hair follicles and cells, minimising hair fall. I'm listing few of my favorite Ginseng products to choose from : 1. @origins GinZing Refreshing Eye Cream to Brighten and Depuff, $32 - Frangrant (Essential oils) This de-puffing eye cream has both ginseng and caffeine from coffee to reduce dark circles ORIGINS - GinZing Refreshing Eye Cream to Brighten and Depuff 2. @origins Ginzing Into The Glow Brightening Serum, $44 - Fragrant (Essential oils) ORIGINS - Ginzing Into the Glow Brightening Serum 3. @kiehl's Cactus Flower & Tibetan Ginseng Hydrating Mist, $27 - Fragrant This refreshing mist boasts Tibetan ginseng to boost cell respiration Kiehl's - Cactus Flower & "Tibetan Ginseng" Hydrating Mist 4. @tatcha The Dewy skin cream, $68 - Fragrant It has ginkgo extract, ceramides and ginseng extractsTATCHA - The Dewy Skin Cream 5. @theordinary Glycolic acid 7% toning solution, $8.70 - Fragrance free This contains glycolic acid, amino acids, aloe vera, ginseng and Tasmanian pepperberry. Eye creams 👀and looking for recommendations
My under eye area has always been a concern for my. Even though I am only 25 I have puffiness and a slightly purple color on my under eye area. This is a mix of genetics ( my parents have notorious eye bags ) and my skin colour ( you can even see some of my veins if you come really close to my face haha). Obviously this problem gets worse if I don’t sleep well so I ended up looking tired almost every day. So far I’ve tried some eye creams but I didn’t notice any change or improvement. Around two years ago I decided to give Pigmentclar Eye cream from La Roche Posay and use it for almost 9 months ( but not every day to be honest ). This products claims to reduce /brighten blue - brown circles, improve circulation and improve the appearance of your under eye area. It has caffeine, ferulic acid, glycerine and a lot of other ingredients. Here are my thoughts: Results: none considerable change, I couldn’t notice a big improvement in the color of my under eye area and it slightly peeled my skin in that area. This was a major problem for me because it made it imposible to wear concealer due to the uneven texture of my skin there. Probably some if its ingredients are suppose to give a gentle exfoliation which I didn’t know at that time, now I know better and read the list of ingredients , search for reviews and ask to an expert before trying something new. If you have a more mature skin, not sensitive in that area I will recommend you this product but maybe start with a couple of times a week to see what you can take. Texture and packing: this is the part that I loved it. The applicator deserves five stars for me because of its metal cold applicator. For me this is the best type of applicators for eye creams because it keeps the product clean and it calms the area. I still keep it in my fridge and use it to calm the puffiness. I don’t use the cream any more but I use the applicator to massage. (I couldn’t tag the aye cream but here is a product of the same line) LA ROCHE-POSAY - Pigmentclar Serum Visible Dark Spot Reducer First impressions on CLINIQUE - All About Eyes Rich Eye Cream: I am trying the Light version , not the rich! I’ve been using this cream only for two weeks so I can’t talk about results yet. I like the texture, it is light but it hydrates at the same time, I can’t feel any smell and it’s gentle for that sensitive area. You can apply concealer after and it looks decent (obviously is not the same as applying a primer ) What I really dislike is the presentation, it comes in a small jar ( 15 ml or 30 ml) which for me is the most inconvenient presentation for skincare products because it can easily contaminate and it takes more tome to apply. But everyone has their preferences. So far I don’t think I will be buying it again when I finish this bottle so I would love to read some recommendations for eye creams or your experience with this ones🍀
CLINIQUE-All About Eyes Rich Eye Cream
THE inkey LIST - Caffeine Eye Cream I was really excited about this product since I have pretty dark circles and work night shift. This cream/serum is targeted for any skin type and for those who have dark under eyes, puffiness and fine lines. One interesting thing is when this was first released it was released as serum, now I see it’s remarketed as a cream. The product contains caffeine and matrixyl 300 which is a peptide for fine lines and wrinkles. It has a very thin lightweight consistency. I didn’t like this product at all. After the first use I got a bunch of red bumps all under my eyes. I stopped using right away. 😕 Tons of people love this product so definitely try it out if it interests you. The inkey list is very affordable and one of the newest popular brands at Sephora. It is also is clean at Sephora. 👍🏻

🖤Let me tell you little bit about my under eye situation. Fine lines + dark circles + starting to see wrinkles + dry . Overall everything you don’t want to see.🤦🏻♀️. . . 🖤This eye cream is light weight thin consistency but not running , kinda gel like texture and absorbs into your skin so nicely. It’s very hydrating and packed with amazing ingredients like hyaluronic acid, caffeine and great peptides. Retails for $9.99USD/15 ml . 🖤I started using almost a month ago and frankly speaking won’t expecting a lot for no reason . Ummm May be because it’s inexpensive. But surprisingly I noticed such an amazing results . Obviously nothing vanished in a second but been reduced for sure also very hydrating under my eye. Fell in love with this and will be trying there brighten eye cream soon. .THE inkey LIST - Caffeine Eye Cream . Have you tried this one? Share your experience in the comment below🖤
THE inkey LIST-Caffeine Eye Cream
Inkey List Caffeine Eye Serum
THE inkey LIST - Caffeine Eye Cream What am I? A caffeine eye serum designed to de puff the skin and reduce dark circles. The product claims to “reinforce the skins natural defense against environmental aggressors.” This product targets skin concerns such as aging, dark or tired eyes, and sagging skin. This serum has a really cool gel like texture that pats easily into the skin and absorbs quickly with no tackyness that some eye serums have. What do I think about it? When this brand first came to Sephora I couldn’t decide what to try first. I was checking this serum out, and when they released a limited edition set that had this in it, I jumped at the opportunity. I’ve had this now for about a month, and have been using it on and off. This eye serum definitely does help to tighten up the area around my eyes and make me look a little more awake. I don’t have dark circles so I can’t speak to that effect but I will say that I don’t think there’s anything especially brightening about this serum. I like to use this on days when I’m not planning on going out, but I usually reach for a different eye cream when I’m getting ready for work and want something with brightening benefits. It’s not a bad product by any means. It feels really cooling on the skin, and you could even still use this during the day and then layer another brightening eye cream on top. For those in their early 20s or someone just getting started with skincare, this would be a great introductory product. Would I recommend it? Overall, I think it’s worth a try. The Inkey List has super low prices and this serum retails for under $10 so if you have nothing to lose by picking it up!
THE inkey LIST-Caffeine Eye Cream
This is super Hydrating cream and helps reduce the puffiness instantly. I haven't noticed any difference in my dark circles and I believe no eye cream does that for me but it sits so well under makeup and helps my sunken eyes look fresh. I love using this mainly in the morning for that fresh look instead of the tired and droopy eyes. The main INGREDIENTS is caffeine which helps in reducing the puffiness and brightens up. Matrixyl peptide which helps boosts collagen and helps with firmness. The TEXTURE is super light weight and more like serum and not a thick cream and it sinks in immediately and the hydration is real. This is such a good working eye cream and so affordable. Works well under makeup too. This retails for $9.99 for 0.5oz
THE inkey LIST-Caffeine Eye Cream
Great Drugstore Eye Cream
OLAY - Eyes Brightening Eye Cream Whether you believe in using eye cream or not, I have to admit this is nice drugstore find. While it retails for $38.99 CAD at Shoppers Drug Mart and $34.98 CAD at Walmart, which is comparable in price to eye creams from Sephora, it’s very easily accessible, which makes it a great find. It’s definitely on the pricier side in terms of drugstore buying though. This eye cream claims to hydrate your under eyes to reduce dark circles, wrinkles, and smooth fine lines. It contains: -Vitamin B3 (niacinamide) -Vitamin C -Caffeine -Optic brighteners ✨These ingredients are to help protect your skin from pollutants and to provide hydration My thoughts: It basically has no scent to it. It’s light-weight, and feels very hydrating. It does instantly have a brightening effect due to the optic brighteners as they reflect light. Concealer and other makeup goes on overtop nicely. It doesn’t have a greasy feel either, which is ideal! It makes my under eyes feel refreshed. While I do not see any change in dark circles, I do think this is great if you have dry under eyes. Oh! And you only need to use the tiniest amount because it goes a long way. I rate this 4/5 because I find it pricey considering it only contains 15 mLs of product. However, I still find it lovely and suggest trying a free sample from your local drug store if you can :)
